a part of me actually wants sansa to refuse to forgive him for it, and a part of me wants her to forgive. idk, I'm very conflicted. but ultimately i want sansa to do what's best for her emotionally

also i assume the other people is jeyne westerling? I would love for sansa to meet jeyne, because I think they would get along so well and sansa would understand jeynes pain. but there also much potential for resentment and spite and conflict and guilt.

theres also a parallel between jeyne not feeling enough for robb (as you said there's an desperation about her to please) and sansa realising that she and arya were not enough for robb as trades.

all of this paints such a painful picture but I feel like jeyne and sansa meeting could give them the comfort they need - sansa could tell jeyne that she does not blame her for the red wedding, and jeyne could tell sansa that her brother- things that would be a balm. because whatever robb decisions, i also think it would be really unfair to claim that he didn't love his sisters. he did- just that their welfare wasn't always number one- and that's kinda the point of his character. the fact that they live beyond him is significant.

Nothing in particular prompted it at the time. Just a random burst of indignition at the hypocrisy in this fandom.

Honestly, I don't think that Robb's decision to essentially abandon his sisters will be brought up again in a significant manner. It may be touched on briefly if/when his will makes an appearance, but I don't think there's a lot of room to examine this particular emotional wound or, say, Ned's damaging neglect of Sansa. Both characters already saw themselves axed by the narrative, and this would not be changed by Sansa either condemning or forgiving them. It's for the reader to judge. I suspect that GRRM is more likely to invite comparison by showcasing contrasting behavior by other characters. Like "Winterfell belongs to my sister Sansa", or by continuing to highlight Brienne's determination to keep her vows to Catelyn and find the Stark girls.

What I definitely don't see is Jeyne Westerling and Sansa meeting. No one actually blames Jeyne Westerling - which is a little suprising given the misogyny within the setting and her mother's betrayal - but she was literally his own age and demonstrably in love with him. For once, everyone recognizes that the power in the situation (to honor his betrothal or break his word) lay entirely with Robb. Jeyne is witnessed by multiple people being furious over what happened to him, she publicly tears her clothes to show her defiance and her grief.

She doesn't need Sansa's reassurance, nor would Sansa ever be tempted to withhold it. Of all of Robb's choices, I don't think she would disapprove of this one. There's no conflict there, and I don't think GRRM would take precious page space away from more pressing plotlines to address a non-conflict.

Also I'm actually too critical of the Robb/Jeyne relationship to want to see Jeyne subsumed by more interaction with his family, save pershaps Catelyn. Certainly not to post-humously absolve Robb of any wrongdoing, which definitely did exist and which doesn't need to be neatly shrugged off. I want Jeyne to emancipate herself from the role of Robb's odd wife, from the role of his widow. She's a strong-willed, compassionate character, and we only really realize that after Robb is out of the picture and she stops trying to cater to his needs. I prefer it that way.

i will answer that question about my other fave pairings with an additional condition which is that they cannot include saiko ^_^ i wont have a looot to say about them because i have really bad tunnel vision but lets try.

i think the one i probably like the most after kbmt is kaiyume ^_^ not in a way where like the situationship is so hilarious that it compels me to write 15 posts in a row about them but i think they have a special kind of really funny like. early 2010s cringe highschool couple vibe. or something. embarrassing couple on the internet. blurry grainy matching profile pics. couple cosplay. the chuunibyou. LOL i do genuinely love their relationship and its evolution from the moment kaidou defended chiyo in okinawa to chiyos confession and the way chiyos feelings for him are so consistent despite being the 'girl who falls in love super easily all the time' archetype and shes so considerate in liking him and i think they fit really well together but most importantly the idea of their romance is so weird and embarrassing to me meaning theyll never be boring (which is as weve established a capital offense for a gag manga). i think it brings out so many fun parts of their character. chiyos unhinged but shes so caring. kaidous so pathetic but hes so brave and gentlemany. its great! 👍

Hullo. May I ask why Dick is blorbo? No real reason, I'm just a curious and nosy follower :D

1. Young Justice - this show was a big reason why I got back into DC, and when I was younger, Dick and Artemis were my favorite characters because they were humans among superhuman people, and I found that neat. Young Justice season 3 I liked Dicks character arc and also-

2. I'm a sucker for sadboys. I think characters look better with a bit of blood on their faces. Connecting back to young justice season 3, Dick is a major sadboy 😅 shortly after watching season 3 of young justice, i started working 60-70 hour weeks (just for 1 summer) and to get through the day i would make up stories about how i thought Dicks season 4 arcs would go (this really cemented him as blorbo)

3. An irl friend was also into young justice, she got into batfam stuff, I'd never read fanfic before, and seeing her read it at first i was like "pffft i wouldn't get into that lame stuff" and lo and behold i got curious and spiraled. There's a looooot of sadboy Dick fics out there. Like. A lot. But yeah i started out as a batfam stan rather than a titans one, and in my heart i love both and theres an internal battle that wages within me

4. At the same time (or before?) i started reading fics, i also got into the comics from Young Justice. Part of the reason i like Dick is because there's literally just so much content i can read, and i started reading and rereading his solo runs and eventually branched out into titans comics. Not all his comics appearances are good, but I like having a lot of content 😅 it helps spark ideas and gives me "i can fix it" disease

5. His relationships with people!!!! A core reason of why I love the character is all the great relationships he's had across canon. He's a big brother/mentor to Tim and Damian (with Tim i love the image of infallibility Dick has, and his slow fall off the pedestal, and with Damian they start at the bottom and build things up from scratch - i love how he has to earn Damians respect by putting in the work). His relationship with Jason especially pre-reboot is a gold mind of agnst (like. Little brother dies while you're in space and your dad doesn't bother inviting you to the funeral *screams* and blames you for his death to some extent) - the way he knew Jason and they got along fine, though they didn't interact like a ton (i see it as like. Older sibling who's in college) and then one day he's just gone, then comes back and wants to kill you and is so blinded by revenge on your dead father he will destroy everything in his path is just, so much potential here. His relationship with Bruce makes me scream. I liked the few interactions he has with Cass before she got yeeted by DC. And moving outside the family, the found family aspect of the Titans i literally love so much. I cherish his friendship with Donna, I'm a big fan of platonic m/f relationships being given importance and weight, plus again the whole "i love angst" thing was on fire when she dies. I love his relationship with Roy, the way they push one another and butt heads while still deeply trusting one another + the thinly veiled sexual tension between them (i say thinly veiled because Grace literally points it out in Outsiders). His friendship with Wally is also fun, i like reading their team ups. There's so many characters that he interacts with it just sets up so many possible stories, and i love how interconnected he is in the superhero community

6. Man vs world. I like that Dick is a (mostly - everyone has flaws, and Dick does fuck up in canon) well intentioned person struggling against the injustices of the world. That's the long way of saying "i like him because he's a hero". But part of that is like - a lot of his battles narratively fall into man vs world (especially in his solos), with a bit of man vs self here and there, and i like these categories. Most of his conflict is external, and while i like some internal conflict, i get a little bit bored when characters in comics are too introspective - like some of this i don't mind, bonus points if the internal and external conflicts are aligned in a satisfactory way, but DC comics only lets characters grow so much, so introspective stuff can get repetitive imo

There's probably more reasons but this is what i can think of off the top of my head

i wanna say i hate to compare BG3 and DAI buuuuut you know they have similar intentions not including the combat system. theyre both high fantasy RPGs that focus on major story choices/consequences and making a protag that you can shape based on personality options, along with class/race specific effects on the way characters mold with you.

so. i think they can be compared, without any note of the technical advancements from since DAI came out of course.

and i say this just based on my current progress (i guess the first 'part'? i just got to the end of the druid grove stuff). i think the bg3 protag is fine! no issue there really, its different but i like what i can do. but i can feel the issues with romance in this game creeping up, as i had heard some things started before by others... that theres a very quick focus to romance. and honestly.... is it romance even at this starting point? immediately i am just asked about who i want to fuck. i like to fuck, i like the sexual relationships. but i can see where ppl may have their issues here.

on this first celebration with the party members, the woman who i helped do the raid with, who i literally dont know, before i even got to the party was like- i am talking to you in your mind and i want to fuck you in thanks for this. and she is the one character you can just fuck without any relation with. and then i talk to Astarion who is like, who do you want to fuck tonight lol? and even if i hadnt talked w him, every other character there except Gale had the option to suggest i wanted to fuck them. bro i hardly even know these guys still. i want to fuck astarion eventually and im glad he turned me down bc honestly why would he accept?. but shadowheart and laezel were totally up for it!!! and man i hard travelled with laezel bc i dont like her lol.

and listen i am sure i will get to learn way more abt these characters that i romance but the fact i am opened up to the sex option immediately is just. so strange when i compare it to the romances of DAI. i think i could take a few characters who just want sex. thats normal. not everyone wants commitment and i would actually like that nuance. but also, really putting the sex on so quick and so blatantly is a surprise to me even as someone who wants to have sex stuff all the time!! but i like good writing too! and i imagine its even more uncomfy for others who really didnt expect or want that. to just assume you character wants to have sex so fast is weird and the only other option denying everything (no implication you want just romance/are interest but dont want sex) is just wild to me too.

DAI has such well written romances. really. i saw ppl saying they were excited this game would blow bioware's romance writing out of the water but i dont think i can say that at all rn and im not sure this current impression will change enough for me to say otherwise entirely....

this also goes into why "everyone is bi" isnt always good. because i think it takes a lot of potentially personal weight out of the writing. not even in that if one character is gay then there will be oppression angst between them and you for being gay. or that the straight one will voice their straightness in context of gays existing in world. its about how "everyone is bi" isnt actually good, chosen bi rep. its just a game mechanic thrown in to satisfy all ends. we can have bi characters, we just cant have them all being labelled that in order to fill that check mark.

dorian is a really good example in DAI of how a character being strictly gay and also facing in world oppression makes his romance storyline SO good. its so important for sexuality labels to exist bc it makes you an individual of your own. and for it to be EXPRESSED in some form too. a character should be able to voice their thoughst on their unique sexuality when you romance them. but the 'everyone is bi just because' means like no character is every talking about that, let alone in a meaningful way when the reason applies to every other companion.

sorry did not mean for this to become a rant on romances. im still looking forward to the writing that will unfold with these characters but i think its so important to not get lost in the hype (and the hate to DAI? which i think is just hate to bioware really) bc people ALWAYS get to ahead of themself when they hear "you can romance anyone regardless of gender" without thinking twice about whether or not that makes it good writing or rep

Im going to give much more in-depth meta after I watch the new Hellraiser a second time with my boyfriend. I'm letting my initial thoughts percolate, but I want to rewatch to see what I catch.

I enjoyed the movie. I don't think it was better than H1 or H2, and personally I think I even liked H3 more.

I think it is sleeker and less clunky than H2, but I'm not sure that necessarily makes it better vs. my own personal preferences...

I think Jamie Clayton did a great job with the material she was given (but more on that aspect later). I appreciated her subtle approach. Being completely honest, I think she lacked some of Doug's gravitas. That said, if we manage to get a sequel, I think she has a lot of room to grow with the character (which tbh is how Doug got the level of gravitas he had. His presence is most distinct by H3, she's closer on par with him in H1).

I liked Reilly and empathized with her. She's very much not Kirsty to me, but I could see some parallels. She was a strong main protagonist.

There are new lore elements that are brilliant additions, and there are questionable ones that feel more like they serve to glue this film's plot together/just to be "cool". Whenever that happens, the deeper themes seem to suffer a bit.

Speaking of the themes, they were the film's strongest point. And yet I could not help but feel the absence of the themes of desire and longing and sexuality. Had they kept closer to those core elements, I felt like the story may have actually come out stronger. There is an almost gender-blind quality to the film that I think pulls away from dynamics of personal experience that might have developed the characters a lot more, particularly when it comes to women's experiences, which were just so strongly present in the original. The lack of a deeper queerness (as in, more than just the presence of gay men being gay for a minute) tied into these themes also feels like a missed opportunity. There is a hint if you squint. There are VERY good bones here, but there was something that really left me wanting.

Viewing this as a potential first installment to a series, theres a lot of room to grow.

I think this was an honest effort, which in many ways paid off, and I very much welcome the film's presence in the franchise.

Okay so. Admittedly, I haven't really been working on the au that much, due to my hyper fixiation on the owl house taking up my brain. And that'll likely still be the case with the upcoming finale so.. yeah!

Anyways, with what I have now;

I already know this is going to be a written collection of various connected stories; as opposed to a comic <\3

If my experience with making comics in the past says anything to me, is that it'll crash and burn before any of the juicy stuff happens.. and I'll get burnt out incredibly fast

Only downside to sticking to a written format is that a lot of these characters have redesighs <\3

Not big ones, most carry their basic look that just about everyone knows

Save for Kagekao and Laughing Jill

Good news is, Kagekao, as of now, doesn't have a role.. yet.. maybe.. again, I'm still figuring out the overarching story

Bad news: Laughing Jill is actually a huge roll in one of the side plots (more on that later). She still holds the same basic design elements as her canon design has: black and white clown gal

Only difference between the real design and my take is that Laughing Jill is a funky ragdoll; and she's small because.. yk, she's a doll. Can literally fit inside a decent sized backpack (again, will elaborate on this later)

Though these versions of them are a mix of MH and CRP since I enjoy both renditions, as a fan of both materials. Plus I feel like if this did become something, a few of yall would be upset if i didnt have them... plus theyre fun to write

im pretty partial on the dub i chose on the rest of my gameplay (jp) and its obvious since xiao's VA is already skilled enough to know the tone that fits him. though its interesting each dub interprets xiao in quite a variety of his characteristic; as most of them maintains his reserved outlook, jp has that spark of sass and confidence when he feels like it (it really has his struggle noises nail you in the head), cn takes the reserved more gently and accurate to his nature (a lot more tired and timid to vulnerability, casual), kr is a lot different but not far from eng, but it fits his maturity and he sounds older (he sorta has a playful tint, too).

what saddens me is not really the performance, but the subtle yet irritating inconsistency and potential hyv did on their characters' interactions and dynamic thats lost to translation. the eng subtitles may give you the basic context of something, but dialog-wise its much more than that (perhaps even more different on other subs), since jp cn kr has lots of meanings behind their writing. xiao addresses zhongli indirectly as rex lapis too in jp, and the latter had expressed concern as if he has been convincing xiao instead of stating the chasm's danger. ("do you really have to go?". theres lots of those coming from too. klee calling albedo as her brother instead of the typical Mr, same from ayaka to ayato, etc. its obviously not something easy for hyv to change and keep it all streamlined overall, but the chances were truly left unseen.

the dubs do definitely change the tone of characters yeah, and i've also been picking up on how much the lack of nuance the english dub has for honorifics changes how character interactions feel! all of the voice actors do good work, just some were given different direction than others and can't do much about localization choices.

zhongli for example has a decent amount of lines that are actually adages, old proverbs that add to his "wise elder passing on stories to the next generation" image. but in english, because we don't have the same cultural context or puns, a lot of that doesn't translate and it instead comes across as him rambling about boats. like, he is rambling, but there's more to it than what english dubs get.

another notable instance of translators having trouble with conveying layered dialogue that i can think of is during venti's story quest, where diluc and kaeya are having a discussion outside of angel's share. in english, we still get the overall idea that the two brothers are still having a disconnect but some of the details on how kaeya talks to diluc is lost. the english dub has them more directly confrontational whereas, if i understand correctly, the original chinese has kaeya using more double-meaning with his phrasing to express how he feels abandoned and diluc is being unintentionally blunt. which is why he's surprised with kaeya actually being so upset when diluc poked at him about drinking alone so often.

and yeah!! the klee thing is one that is so?? ashfhjdg i've seen a number of people be surprised to learn that klee and albedo are adopted siblings, because in english i believe one of the only instances (outside of events) of that being clear is on albedo's profile after you've boosted friendship with him and he calls klee his little sister. something that requires having albedo, which many people don't!

xiao's interactions definitely feel way different with context on what honorifics he is using in other translations. with how tight the update schedule has been and how the development team is being shuffled around between projects, i don't think the translators really have the time they need to cover those details.

firstly, let me explain the blog and what its for!

this blog is mainly here for us to educate people about ug subs, talk to others about reality shifting, post about our system, and post mood boards for characters! everything will be tagged appropriately incase you wanna block out a specific tag so you can just browse through our other posts without seeing posts with that tag! ill add onto this post later with all the main tags were gonna use so you know what posts/topic will be in which tags! a quick warning about the blog! this blog will talk about sensitive topics, as a lot of ug subs revolve around sensitive topics! we may also have posts that could be considered 'sexual themes' as we do make and use subs for that stuff!

secondly, i guess were just the nevadan system?? idk we dont really have a solid name figured out but that works i think. our system really isnt that large, theres probably maybe less than 20 of us? though, youre probably just gonna see the madcom guys show up on the blog as the others dont really care for social media. we use quiogenic as our label as we dont exactly feel we fit traumagenic or endogenic. were bodily 18, but all our ages are different of course! boundaries depends on whoevers fronting

itachis narrative follows through at first, but falls apart if you inspect it. his story's actually quite inconsistent...

like only focusing on his treatment of sasuke, we are told he did it to make him stronger. but its all very vague and a flimsy excuse for the sheer agony and torture it caused to the brother he loved. his character or backstory didnt seem to be finalized when he was first introduced..

nevertheless i do love the 'actually he loved his brother' storyline. its very tragic. his canon actions offer a lot for interpretation...

i read a fic where itachi loved sasuke so much he killed the uchihas because he felt thy were trapping him and wanted to see sasuke fly. hmmmm*

possibilities...(the love can be twisted too)

i feel like all the anti itachi portay him as too...overly willing to kill his clan? (for the sake of konoha) wasnt danzos ultimatum (either every single uchiha dies at roots hands..or only sasuke will be spared if he does it himself) playing a major part in his decision??...

anyways kishimoto did end up creating one of the most iconic characters of anime/manga...

so im not complaining ...i dont think the uchiha storyline would be as memorable without the twist

what would he have done if sasuke had actually killed naruto (his best friend then) only to find out itachi lied about killing shisui for power

it will forever baffle me, all those memes that paint sasuke as this dumb, idiotic character that knows nothing and is a selfish brat for wanting to kill his brother who loves him and power-obsessed for leaving to orochimaru, and then pretend itachi didnt have any part in that. that that was all sasuke, uninfluenced.

setting aside the question of (his intentions, if it made sense, what was a better alternative, was it morally justified etc.) its a fact that the one who made him that way was... itachi. he was the one who told him to hate him, to kill his best friend for the mangekyou sharingan, to grow stronger, to cling to hate and revenge, to come after him to kill him. 

he was the one who told him he lacks enough hate, called him weak, and repeatedly used tsukoyomi to make him relive the massacre and hate him, therefore want to grow stronger to kill him. he actively hid the truth and manipulated it to be that sasuke would never find out, even after death, he was the one who took the brush and painted himself a mindless villain, just to make him hate him. that was all itachi. that was what drove him to orochimaru, to leave konoha, to try and cut off naruto. 

sasuke wasnt somehow naturally that way, (on the contrary, he went after itachi right after seeing his parents bodies, stopped himself from killing naruto)- itachi had to constantly influence him to fester hate that way. it was literally all part of itachis plan! itachi’s!!! people just ignore that, fuck?

like i love itachis character too, i genuinely enjoy his and sasukes storyline. this is not an attack on his character. its just kind of irritating when people lift him up while putting sasuke down by like, exaggerating and making him out to be a pathetic spoilt brat of a character and pretend itachis the actual and only victim bcs how terrible to have a brother who you love but wants to kill you, somehow ignoring that itachi was the one who manipulated his brother? like yeah itachi was manipulated and under pressure too, but in terms of his and sasukes relationship he is the one who lied!!!

like i dont even care about his mistakes or whatever, i care abt sasuke being made out to be the "villain" in their dynamic

Hey as someone who never watched stranger things but knows the genre and could at least recognise the actors. What's up with it atm? I am super out of the loop, I keep seeing talk and people seemed happy or excited about it but now I'm seeing people being very critical? Has there been some stuff going on? Were people always upset and i misunderstood? Am I misunderstanding now? I'm super out of the loop but curious and don't know anyone who watched it to ask. (Yes i could look it up but sounds like this could be fandom controversy idk??)

the first 2 seasons were good, some people didn't like s3 so much but I really enjoyed it, but the latest season, s4, was just bad writing. they keep introducing characters we love and then killing them off but never doing anything to the main favs. it looked like max was gonna die but suddenly eleven is jesus and she brought her back to life but she's in a coma now and its annoying because her suffering doesn't push the story anywhere besides traumatising an already traumatised poor teenage girl. the monster this season i really enjoyed but I hate how he targets already vulnerable and possibly suicidal teens.

not to mention the constant queerbaiting. it got to a boiling point this season. they kept dangling it in front of their lgbt viewers and then being like oh you silly children, lgbt people don't get happy endings! I may be married to a man but as a bisexual woman who was primarily interested in women, ive had the experiences the gay&lesbian characters have had.

they completely messed up the characters and rolled back lots of character development. it's just bad writing. and it's upsetting to see the misfits, the outcasts, the lgbt characters, the mentally ill and traumatised just constantly get shit on by bad writing. theres no payoff to their suffering and no reason for it.

people are mad because the show had so much potential but I feel like the writers lost their way. it feels like game of thrones in a way. I was considering rewatching the earlier seasons but I dont really want to because now I know how they've fucked it up, which is how I felt when game of thrones ended.

how they managed to fuck up every character in under 4 hours is beyond me. it's just upsetting.

hopefully this gives you a brief overview, sorry im exhausted so I hope this makes sense!

Tintin! tried to give him eyeballs but gave up bc he looked like an illumation entretainment background character lol

wasted potential: I just think if hergé hadnt been a weirdo catholic on a mission, tintin would've been more interesting and have more emotional depth even if it is clear he has some underlying personal issues it is never actually Seen bc he's suppossed to be the paragon of virtue and strenght and all that. I havent read the comics in years so i may be wrong but that was my impression then and thats my impression now

not as deep as they seem: honestly! i can see where everyones coming from bc obviously a kid going around and doing whats correct on impulse or trying to decipher mysteries etc is bound to have some trauma but he rlly isnt all that in canon. He's just a Good and Strong and Pure Catholic Boy :))))) (rage)

nothing i like about them is technically canon: yes and no. I will admit theres some aspects of canon tintin that make him likeable like hurrying to help or being pretty reckless, but it's more about the implications i can come up with??

why do they look like that: im joking i know why they look like that but still. He looks so bland in comparison to the rest of the cast....

they work better as part of a dynamic: HONESTLY you can make him interact with any character in the series and there will be a fun back and forth, even with snowy it's funny/sweet how they interact with each other. Tintin rlly needs the other characters to actually shine bc to me he's kinda bland, like theres a wall and theres nothing that bounces back against him if his family or friends arent there

they got too much screentime: im joking BUT this isnt even exclusive to the story hes in i mean like theres too much of him around and i find him kinda overhyped and overrated sdsfsdsdsfsf no offense to ppl who like him im just like "i want that kid obliterated"

i actively dislike them sorry: SORRY sdfsdfdf it's so bland to say but i think im just soured about the work itself and its transformative works featuring him! nothing against the fans whenever i see his face im like "him? again?"

Free Space: the tibet adventure could easily be an adventure/romance movie like just thinking of the implications of dreaming of someone u havent seen in a long while and going by your gut that they are in danger... IT EATS ME how dedicated tintin is to his friendships in general but i will always think him and chang would develope something more.... (sighs) young love (cries)

they are soooo cool looking: I just really like how hes so scruffy looking and has that blue/black color scheme is very simple but effective :) i also just like sea themed characters in general and middle aged characters with Issues:tm:

everyone but me is wrong about them <3: NOT really true im just thinking of common mischaracterizations i used to see or seen in bad fanfiction bc otherwise i think theres a lot of ppl that really "get" haddock's essence

if they were real i would be afraid of them: half true, i would be more irritated by him than afraid of him. Like shut your mouth old man! type of way

they are like a blorbo to me: for a long time haddock was a blorbo to me, im not tht attached to the character anymore but i do think of him fondly

not as deep as they seem: i had to repeat this to myself bc even if he is plenty fleshed out in the actual works i think as fans we see More than there actually is.

free space: pretty sure ive said this before but i will always see haddock's personal journey as healing from the abusive rship he had with Alan Thompson (which was a catalyst to substance abuse) and seeing value in himself bc the people around him value him (his cat, tintin, prof calculus) basically that found family goodness lol

Hello! For the fandom ask game, Star Wars seems too vast, so. The Kenobi show?

First of all I'm going to start by saying this is my second time typing this up and I'm going to cry if it gets deleted again. Second- Thank you friend I love you, I love this ask, bless you for narrowing it down to the Kenobi show. I can pick my top two characters easy, but my top three is hard to decide on and it would have made me have a small crisis. But anways lets see if I can do this and not have it get deleted this time! 5 favourite characters

Obi-Wan: I don't think anyone is surprised by this, so I'm not going to elaborate.

Reva: I meant it when I said, I don't trust you if you think she should have died. I mean it. I love where she's going. I was so fucking terrified they were going to kill her. After what I had to endure during Book of Boba Fett, I DID NOT TRUST ANYONE do her justice. Now I have SOME trust but I only trust Ms. Debra with Reva. No one else touch her. Reva has the potential to have one of the greatest character arcs in Star wars and I'll be damned if anyone takes that from her. Like I could finally have another character outside of Zuko to be like "this is how you write a good redemption arc." I have hope for that, but that means we need more Reva, and half the star wars fans don't deserve her. The only reason Obi-Wan keeps his top slot is because I've known him longer, but I've been dying for a story like Reva's since I jumped back into star wars.

Tala: No one fucking touch me, I cried like a baby when she died. I knew it was coming, because unfortunately someone always dies for development, I'm just glad she sorta took it into her own hands, instead of like another "I just died in your arms tonight" moment. I was reminded of Rogue One and it made me UNWELL. I miss her. I wanted more of her character.

Leia: And this is purely because former roommate texted me after she saw the first episode and said that little Leia reminded her of me- and I wasn't entirely sure how to process that. I have since rewatched A New Hope and Empire Strikes back and have been UNWELL in realizing how much of her attitude I just straight up absorbed, mostly in the form of sassy remarks instead of being emotionally vulnerable. I'm sure theres more to it, but no one talks about themselves accurately and this is supposed to be about Leia not me. But anyways I don't trust anyone who says they don't like Leia- just say you don't like kids or little girls with loud opinions. I still won't trust you, but at least you'll finally be honest.

I feel like its lame of me to include Vader on this list, but like- heres the thing. Listen listen....I paused E3 the moment he started the fire. I paused it and I fucking laughed at this petty man's fuckery. I laughed because my thought was, "Anakin you petty bitch, you're going to TRY to burn this man like you did on mustafar oh my god you petty son of a bitch" and once I recovered from sheer amount of petty fuckery I hit play. It was instantaneous. It was 4 am and I nearly screamed and woke up the house because I didn't think it was going to THAT far and they did. I fucking started crying. No other character has made go from laughing to sobbing that fucking fast. Also the part with the ship, and I didn't like that he moved quickly it freaked me out. So yeah, this was the first time I think I really processed Vader and I'm a little fucked up.

I'm gonna be real honest, I was glad that there wasn't any mention of his past romantic relationships. Like yes, I have written a character that is in a relationship with Obi-Wan, but even then I wrestle with the fact of do I want them to actually be romantic or do I want it to be plantonic and more like a qpr. My point for this is that I feel like Obi-Wan's story hits the hardest without any kind of romantic interest, and I'm glad it wasn't even a factor in this show. I have a lot of thoughts on his relationship with Satine, but thats another post I may or may not get to. This is a long way of saying that it took me a long time to think of any kind of relationships because I forget things and am actually a dumbass.

BailXBreha: I fucking love them I miss them every day. I want S2 only for them to come back. They had minimal screen time, but I would die for fics about them raising Leia. I adore them.

OwenXBeru: Like I said I went to rewatch A New Hope and I am 100% convinced that they took out at least a squad of troopers before we see Luke go home. I miss them too. I can't believe I lose them in the same movie I lose the Organas and I'm not okay with that.

Obi-WanXSleep: If you know anything about me you'll know this is my number one ship. Its very important to me I hold it dearly, and evidently so does Leia.

Funniest character:

Is it bad if I say its a tie between Vader, Haja, and Leia- I feel like it is. I'm gonna go with Haja, because I love him too. He won me at "You remembered my name" and the little smile he gave. Man I'd be in the exact same boat if he called me by name. Haja is a stronger man than I am though because I would have just puddled on the floor and been absolutely useless.

Prettiest character

You know this question is harder than I thought-

I was going to say Obi-Wan, because every time I see a gif come across my dash, I just sorta sigh and think "He's so pretty" and thinking about how I'm supposed to meet Ewan in August set my heart racing and so I feel like I should say Obi-Wan is the prettiest

BUT TALA AND REVA ARE RIGHT THERE AND THEY ARE GORGEOUS.

You know what this one goes to Reva. I love her so damn much okay. Her story, her, she's amazing and I love her for all the reasons why I've listed in the character piece.

The characters were truly the main eye candy of the game. You’d been worried that when you had been sucked into Devildom, you wouldn’t be able to access the game due to, yknow, realm differences, but luckily that wasn’t the case thanks to Levi, and hence why the moment it dropped, you had been spending your life savings simping for characters on every banner.

Potential apocalypse has been diverted

But Lucifer does smile the smallest of smiles as he sighs, finding it silly to really get jealous over such a small thing and says

Well you kinda deserve it, so it wasnt long before both his work and your phone had been ditched

( After a while you do kinda see him quite similar to Diluc and it just makes you smile everytime you think about it, seems you have a thing for the strict cold men huh?)

He already has tossed you your phone back and he crossed his arms, looking away as the red blush covers most of his cheeks.

You look at your phone and you honestly felt your heart speed up and stop at the same time at the amount of primos on your account, it was enough for a full 180 pull! If you dont get the limited character on the first 50-50, you have another shot!

You felt your own heart speed up and your face burn so hard, but you do mumble him a quick “But... But why though?”

“Cuz! If you start cryin’ Lucifer’s gonna beat my ass! Dont think I did it for you, you human! I just dont want him taking away Goldie again!”

As you go on, you notice that Levi was kinda... half listening....

It made you pout, but then, it made you worried

So to snap him out of it, you kinda grab his face as gently as you can

In your relationship, you both were practicing being more open with each other, hence why you were proud of Levi for saying it

but you did feel kinda sad and frowned as he finishes explaining

He covers his face with his arm and you just cant help but shake your head with a fond smile, but you do need to address this and comfort him.

“Levi... when you fanboy about Ruri chan, did you ever think she was better than me?”

Your question made him frown and look at you in absolute worry

But ah, he does get it, and after being showered with love from you, He kinda slowly got over his jealousy

its not immediate but with simple reassurances, you can manage to reel him in and have fun with you

He does end up enjoying the game cause he gets to spend time with you, and he gets to show off when events happen 

He also goes out of his way to memorize locations for materials for you, and when youre sick or busy, he pilots your account

But ironically enough hed probably start simping for a character too and of course, you both start bonding over that, which just makes Levi absolutely happy

svsss thoughts lol

i posted this on twitter but wanted to post it here too cuz ppl here love to discuss and will actually read this maybe and i would love to discuss things cuz that way i get to see things in a new light

so here it goes, my messy thoughts months after finishing svsss main story but not the extras:

thought about how shen jiu and bingge are parallels of each other and illustrate how cycles of abuse work, and how both suffered and made others suffer, and ultimately lost everything they ever wanted and worked for in their lives and now im sad

i dont think theres a lot of fics that explore how similar their characters are. its also odd to me that there are fics that paint bingge as being okay while sj is irredeemable and scum. i had a lot of issues and was upset about the potentials of svsss that were not met

thankfully i was not the only one & i was able to find very few fics that delved into things svsss ignored. i appreciate how mxtx writes her stories as realistically as possible cuz she loves to write about how ppl judge without knowing everything. its a common theme in her works

it works well in tgcf and mdzs but to me it ends up being frustrating in svsss. it works well in tgcf cuz we still see the whole picture so we dont miss anything, its the same with mdzs but with some restrictions ex/ mxy and how we only know him thru rumours

and given the false rumours that we saw with wwx we can guess how false the rumours about mxy were as well. someone also wrote about this lack of closure or knowledge for both the characters and readers and how it works well with the themes of the novel but i cant find it lol

that being said, this style, although perfect for her other 2 novels, it falls short imo with svsss. now im admitting that i have yet to read the extras so maybe these things were answered there but there are major characters that we just dont get much about

my complaint here is 100% not critical lol, its personal, i wanted more info more screen time for characters like shen jiu given how important he is but we never got that. our narrator is so unreliable we cant trust him on anything (imo that takes away from the reading pleasure)

sy 100% believes everything from PIDW when it comes to lbh and sj and with lbh it causes so many issues that could have been avoided, this is not a complaint, this is part of the story and theme. but it leaves me frustrated especially since with the other 2 stories the reader gets to get out of the narrator's head or can see to an extent the flawed judgemental way of thinking and how it was wrong. with svsss we dont really get that? maybe cuz i never realized our narrator is extremely unreliable, idk. tbh idek how to explain

idk how to explain properly cuz my thoughts about it are messy. like random thought i re-remembered: the lack of reaction to sj just up and disappearing. sy never realizing the ppl around him are ppl and not just fictional characters. sy not caring about the person who's life he had to live. from the lack of background on sy himself we as a fandom assumed he had absent parents and died alone and thats why he never cared about his old life, no mourning or grief. he easily gets accustomed to life without almost everything old teens/young adults live with. no reaction to the amount of violence and death around him. its one thing to read about but another to live thru. from our assumed old life about him, he should have been very sheltered

the more i think about it the more i see things that frustrate me cuz the potential was so high &honestly if mxtx took a crack at it now with her improved skills, it would reach the popularity levels of her other novels. but oh well i guess thats why we have fanfic lol

there are other things that i just didnt like at all, like that assault scene or how it ended with them apparently just leaving everything behind? and how i can literally list the red flags in their relationship (and i have listed them in a previous svsss rants/thoughts post on here when i hadnt yet finished the novel) but i attribute this to just idk, i like to ignore it, its not great

this is all over the place but if you read this, then i welcome any response just be nice pls lol, i had to block some ppl from my last post cuz they were being mean and rude and honestly that just makes me upset and less likely to enjoy the content you may be rudely defending. despite my criticisms of svsss i still love reading fanfics about it cuz i see the potential and see some writers who are angels and write some amazing svsss fics that fulfill the potential.

Hello!! After seeing what you wrote about xiaoven fics I went to see what things you usually write and omg, your archon Venti headcanons????? I am absolutely in love. So if it isn't annoying, could you talk about xiaoven or Venti or Xiao or whatever ship or character you like? I don't care what you are going to say, I just want to know more about your thoughts ^^

I- is this... bestie, this is essentially a free ramble pass- kerujsgheskdfug. Trust me when I say that in no way is this, and in no way will it ever be annoying in the slightest- i literally- lets just say rambling off thoughts is kind of my specialty, especially when provided a topic to branch off of because otherwise I'm just- really indecisive about it so- iujskdh yeah- 100% definitely down to talk about Venti, Xiao, and/or Xiaoven XD. Also, yes- it may have been awhile since i last posted one(cuz again, indecisive about which direction to take part 5), but the Archon War Era Venti headcanons are still without a doubt my favorite posts I've made. It's just such an interesting topic with such endless potential that so few people actually think about or consider or even realize is there, so i always just get really psyched whenever i see someone interact with them lol.

Anyway! onto the actual content!

- You see the thing about Xiaoven is that there's a lot of different ways that it could end up working out, and just personally my favorite way of portraying Xiaoven in my mind is as an unlabeled relationship because if anyone in genshin would give off that vibe its these two. And a number of other reasons.

- Firstly, I heavily headcanon Venti as being an aroace polyplatonic or perhaps heavily demiromantic. However, regardless of this I just don't think that Venti is really the kind of person to worry about how he should label his feelings, thinking it's silly to try to put them in one box or the other, especially with feelings and emotions being as fluid as they are in general. Plus it fits his whole God of Freedom vibe. I just- dont think he's the biggest fan of labels or social categorization in general.

- And secondly on the hand of Xiao... his defense mechanisms are very much ingrained in his personality. It's probably hard enough for him to not go into fight or flight(the answer is fight) at the slightest affection at first, at the slightest feeling of vulnerability. Even further down the line, with his fierce dedication to Liyue, I cant help but get the vibe that the moment he recognized that he was falling for Venti he would begin avoiding him, not only to avoid distraction from his duty, but to avoid corrupting him or losing him in general like he has with like basically every other person he gets close with(even believing that the cycle had repeated once more when he first heard of Morax's death)... now imagine Venti tryna slap a label on their relationship and tell me Xiao would have a positive reaction.

- The thing with Xiaoven.... honestly, i feel like theres more ways that it can go wrong than it can go right, but if they do manage to make their relationship work out, it's just simply beautiful in all terms of the word.

- Lets talk about killing. - During the Archon War, both were forced to kill a large number of people and gods alike- Venti out of a need to remain alive to protect Mondstadt, it's freedom, and the nameless bard's legacy by extent- and Xiao out of servitude to the god that was once his master

..... actually- break here- ive talked a lot about Venti on this blog but I havent actually spoken about Xiao all that much- so i should probably do that a bit first... do note though that my characterization of Xiao is pretty flexible actually- this is just- the possible characterization of him that i tend to favor as being the most- uh- "realistically complex"

Theres a line I saw this one time in a certain story: "He is a trained weapon. That's what he is, was, and always will be. You cannot change that so stop trying." And i just- think its a really interesting concept- that applies pretty well to Xiao now that i actually think about it. - the concept behind it is this: After spending more than a vast majority of his life killing or otherwise in battle, it's become a part of who he is, a normalcy that after centuries and centuries would be near impossible to get rid of or reverse, and even if it was possible, with his karmic debt constantly eating away at him its unlikely he has enough time left for that to happen. - it sounds like a cruel thing to say about him- but in context it's actually pretty layered and i think about it a lot. It's not as much a "he's a killer lol, that his whole personality" its more of a "The centuries of trauma he experienced have conditioned him into a constantly alert and battle ready mindset while also shaping his dehumanizing inferior-in-worth-but-superior-in-capability view of himself that would have likely been necessary to get through those time, and at this point he's been under that conditioning for long enough that it's essentially ingrained itself in his personality."

- the main idea is- it's a part of who he is, that needs to be accepted as who he is because its not something that he can just up and change. It's not all he is of course but his constant battle mode, as though always waiting to be ambushed or to be granted a new target to eradicate.

a couple character story quotes:

-"His past of service under the evil god had rid Xiao of his innocence and gentleness. All that remained within him was the means to kill and the weight of his sins. The only way he could be of service to mortals was in combat." -"Xiao does not feel any hatred. Having lived for over two thousand years, no single karmic debt constitutes anything more than a fleeting memory. No grudge can last a thousand years; nor is any debt so great that it cannot be paid off in this time. Xiao has spent many long years alone. But his battles have never been in vain." -"where did Xiao have to return to? He was merely leaving the battlefield." -"since Xiao wages a constant war against dark forces powerful enough to devour Liyue in its entirety, any bystanders who witness him in the heat of battle are likely to end up as collateral damage." -"The war he fights can never be won, and will never come to an end." -"Because ultimately, the one with whom Xiao wrestles is himself."

i feel like at some point this very nearly did consume his whole personality, almost turning him into nothing more than a being of slaughter under Morax's control, devoid of any "humanity" at all, consumed and corrupted by his karmic debt like his fellow yakshas before him. - until he experienced a moment of clarity- a song in the wind, the peaceful melody of a dihua flute. - and pulled back from the border of something he wouldnt have been able to return from, there a was a shift in his mind- a concept grown unfamiliar enough with time that it took him a great time to identify what it was; a curiosity. Something that there was no place for on the battlefield, something that by all means should have been completely useless to Xiao, and yet he held onto that curiosity, slowly regaining over time, a sense of who he was and who he could choose to be with each song that the wind chose to carry towards him every once in a blue moon.

and eventually that curiousity turned to longing. Longing "for a day to come when he will wear the mask and dance — not to conquer demons, but to the tune of that flute amid a sea of flowers"

...... uh- heh- if you couldn’t tell already i have a tendency to make my characterizations/analyses of characters more serious that i probably should. 

to summarize: Xiao is constantly toeing the line between his ingrained nature and his humanity- almost as though still trying to decide how much of that humanity he deserves to have, how much he is allowed to have, and how much is safe to have.

^looking back after writing this, i think the best way to explain it is that this is the view that i keep in mind/the lense that i tend to most enjoy looking through and refering back to while examining and/or analyzing his character, actions, story, lines, and overall personality.

idk- i kinda got off track but i just think its a really interesting interpretation to think about because it has some really interesting implications ig- it’s not the full extent of how i view him of course, but i kinda got ahead of myself and its long enough as is so ill just elaborate as i go- Lol i actually have in progress playlists for both him and venti and just- vibes- i could ramble about the playlists alone for hours explaining everything... It’s probably a problem- uh- ill keep going now lol.

anyways! stepping off the angst path for a brief break! Brought to you by their lines in the snow: both waiting for it to get thick enough, Venti for the purpose of a snowball fight and Xiao for the purpose of a tasty and nutritious breakfast.

but its actually something of note that Xiao doesnt actually need to eat so anything he does eat is usually out of obligation or enjoyment- so like.... snow.... like i dont blame him, but of all things- an adeptus who refuses to eat basically anything but almond tofu looks at the freezing-cold-floor-water that yeeted itself from above and decided at some point- damn- that seems more edible than basically ever single actually edible thing ever.... im gonna eat it- like- im glad if eating snow makes him happy but- at the same time...

He probably convinces Venti to eat snow too though and Venti wouldnt even resist I mean he’s wind and has probably consumed worse things in his time so- 2 anemo cryptids with glowing tattoos sitting in Dragonspine monching snow in the dead of night is an amusing thought to me.

- kay, now back to more serious-toned thoughts

One of the things about the ship that i really like is the different contradicting parallels between them:

A lot of how i view Xiao’s character is someone formed largely by the things he cant control and who was forced to accept that accepted that and learned to thrive in it as much as he can.  Venti on the other hand is surrounded by things he cant control and is ever adapting to control as much as he can while embracing whatever he cant as being part of the unpredictability of the world, seeing beauty in it. 

both of them have lost people and do what they do to honor their memory: Xiao continues to do what the Yakshas once did And Venti chooses to do what his friend couldn’t

Xiao’s power coming from himself  and Venti’s from others And both seem to appear to use their power for their own gain while truly helping others behind the scenes

both have killed a lot of people during the archon war Xiao views it as another necessary event out of his control and Venti would likely view it as a tragedy he chose to enact himself

and this is where we meet out balance

Xiao- contrary to how i think a lot of people view him as thinking of himself as a monster- seems canonically to have accepted this as part of his duty, as long as those he killed are not mortals. I dont think he enjoys it no- but someone has to do it and he’s just accepted that its a part of his duty Venti on the other hand-

See the beauty of the ship- as someone with an angst-centric mind- is this- these are two of the most traumatized mfers in the game 

Xiao is by far the one who needs the most help and who can serve to benefit most from the ship- but he is nowhere near self aware enough to recognize that there’s anything wrong or unhealthy about his mindset in the slightest-

whereas you have the contrast with Venti who sorted through most of his trauma with the nameless bard alone during the archon war and while the result appears more healthy- is still really not- but he’s not self aware of that either because i mean- who’s going to tell him? nobody even knows. 

however- venti is aware enough to notice flaws in Xiao’s mindset and “Venti” enough to want to help them through it-

Xiao- while not aware enough to recognize the flaws in Venti’s mindset, can recognize where it contrasts with his own, and is blunt enough to point it out- and then it’s out there to be mulled over- 

they’re so similar and yet so different and a feel just conversing between the two of them, being in each others precense, just being exposed to two mindsets that are so very different could do both of them a whole lot of good.

GEEE THAT BIT OF RAMBLING HAD LITTLE TO NO DIRECTION AT ALL- LET ME-- LET ME MAKE THIS START MAKING SENSE- WITH... DYNAMICS OR SOMETHING

I don’t think Xiao needs to sleep really- and i dont think that sleeping would do anything except make him uneasy at first- he’d probably just get nightmares after all he’s been through- but with Venti he would soon learn that it doesn’t have to be that way, lulled into the first peaceful sleep he’s had in... as long as he can remember.

anywho back to not making sense cuz im fickle and i think most questions about ships are best displayed through character interactions so like- a possible exchange thats cliche but cliches exist for a reason

Xiao: Why do you try so hard to help me, it isn’t easy. I know that much Venti, with the most adoring expression: Because you’re worth it, obviously Xiao: But surely there are others more deserving of- Venti: No Xiao, everyone is just as deserving as the next person, you included Xiao: Then why me above others? Venti: ehe, cuz ur my warrior of course [O//////O oh shit, hes right] Xiao: My contract is with Morax alone [gay panic but in broody yaksha]

it’s kinda difficult cuz neither of them really address their feelings.  I mean Venti does but he does it very indirectly and its rare that he ever does it with like- genuine directness- even spilling his backstory was in the form of a song- and told in the third person- so a lot of their interactions would often have some deeper meaning, especially with Venti being the bard he is. 

I come up with a lot of- errant thoughts about Xiaoven- but this is making me realize that a true analysis of their ship is rather difficult because it just encompasses so many dynamics so its hard to settle on just one and not go rambling about who knows what bouncing from one end of the ship to the other-  Because you truly can and thats the beauty of it

within one moment you can be having a heartfelt conversation about the archon war the impact of lost friends and times past, and the next moment Venti is trying to forcefeed Xiao an apple while Xiao screams about disrespecting the adepti and its just- so lovely

so while they have picnics with nothing but apples, dandelion wine, and almond tofu they can sit down and talk about the dreams Xiao once devoured, and the dandelion wine and apple cider that the first Ragnvindir invented from the plants that never could have grown in Old Mond. The foods that tasted of familiarity, or of the grilled ticker fish Pervases always used to eat, foods that tasted of friends and frankly family that had since passed, glaze lilies and cecilias and qingxin flowers scattered in the surroundings and woven into Xiao’s neat braids and Venti’s now messy ones, rebraided by the steady and inexperienced hands of one unused to gentle action. 

and then of course Venti steals Xiao’s tofu once the mood becomes too grim and replaces it with a bottle of wine that Xiao refers to as “vile poison,” a remark that fatally wounds Venti as he collapses on the floor, proclaiming how he can only be healed by a Yaksha’s kiss. Xiao ignores this of course and simply takes back his tofu with a slight smile on his face, but as Venti persists he soundlessly places a kiss on his own palm before intertwining their fingers and pulling him back up from where he was dramatically sprawled on the floor, grumbling about how such action was “unbecoming of an archon.” A sign of affection only Xiao would ever know about. But Venti is literally wind and I hc his senses work differently anyways so he definitely knows- plus Xiao’s face is red as the blood of his enemies and the way he is pointedly not looking at Venti at all really speaks volumes anyways. 

 -Venti playing epic battle music whenever Xiao goes into fights in what looks like a ridiculously extra performance to anyone else but is actually doing wonders to keep Xiao’s karma at bay

-Venti preaches the practice of “kissing wounds better” and Xiao is unfamiliar with this medical treatment but views it as unnecessary regardless because adepti have accelerated healing, doesn’t mean he’s going to stop him though. 

-Messages whispered on the wind

-Venti’s 1000 year sleep- an accident, not a fun time for the yaksha, and not a fun time for Venti once he woke up. Venti is actually more afraid of restful sleep than Xiao is, hence the sleeping in trees thing, but when Xiao is there, he can sleep restfully with faith that Xiao wont let another millennia slip through his fingertips. 

- Xiao tends to make excuses when doing things that aren’t necessary to his duty, like in his birthday voice line “Have this, it’s a butterfly i made from leaves... Okay. Take it. It’s an adepti amulet -- it staves off evil” because at the current point in his progress it helps him to feel like he’s allowed to do these things. Not wanting to put him off from progress, Venti never comments on his excuse but never fails to whisper a quick reminder of how proud he is of how far Xiao had come.

- Xiao’s karma saddens Venti greatly- not only because of how it effects Xiao but also because its a reminder that as much as Venti tries to honor the memory of those he’s killed, there will always be those who resent him for it, and when he took the option of living away from them, he truly can’t blame them. - And when he gets too wrapped up in thoughts, whether around this topic or similar ones or otherwise, eventually, he’ll hear the sound of a flute on the wind. It’s not divine by any means, but as his own wind connects him to the source, he gets the sentiment all the same. “What impact does one individual’s remaining wrath have on the present. You have done much to help the living in the present” the unspoken idea that Xiao has included himself in that statement, because now, with Venti’s help he’s beginning to learn just how to experience living for himself. 

- Venti’s form and Xiao’s mask are off limit topics though because if either mentions it the other will counter with the opposite and the mood will turn immediately bitter at the idea that both know that what they’re doing is destructive but neither are willing to change

- Venti who has different tells for negative feelings than most people because as much as he likes to pretend it is- this form isnt his, and Xiao who is able to identify those

- many fanfics and headcanons have Venti recognizing when Xiao is uncomfortable and getting him out of those situations. I see that and I love it but i raise you: - Venti taking Xiao to Mondstadt, careful that he doesn’t get to the point that he’s uncomfortable. And nothing goes wrong exactly, but Xiao notices the the way Venti’s cape is blowing in the wind, the way he’s holding his weight, barely on his feet so much as floating on the wind, connected with the ground only for the sake of appearance, all the while he looks just as happy go lucky as ever. And without a word, he grabs his hand and teleports them both out of Mondstadt.  - turns out it was just a slight thing that reminded him of the archon war (cuz i will die on the hill of him having more tragic backstory than just Decarabian), and he of course gives a sincere if not flustered thanks to Xiao, because he’s really not used to people noticing. 

- Venti trying to vent sneakily through fictional stories and Xiao is just like “Didn’t that basically happen to you” and Venti is just like “<_< shit”

- Venti once said affectionally that he wished he had met Xiao sooner and Xiao immediately and seriously shot it down by saying “If you had, I would have been forced to kill you” and both of them now stay up at night wondering who would have won that fight, not sure which result would have hurt more. (because honestly I have no idea who would win in that fight and that terrifies me- I like to think it would have been one of those legends that end with “and the fight persists to this day” or something along those lines)

- “How long have you been together?” “Adepti have no need for-” “1000+ years T^T how dare you deny our love” “O///O our...? ...useless”

- its disney- let me explain- i have this- i have this headcanon inspired by watching too many animatics- - so venti has a human form that isnt his- which he would have had to get used to moving in- and he’s a bard- - uh- anyway- as a third degree black belt in mixed martial arts, i can speak as an authority on this(not really an authority since i havent gone since quarantine but lets pretend). We have a thing referred to as the big three(most things do), and those things are martial arts, gymnastics, and dance. The idea is that they reflect really well off of each other and the best in any one category are good in all three. Timing, balance, form, discipline, technique, hand-eye coordination, grace, ease of motion, they all play a part- anyway-

- Venti taking Xiao’s prowess in martial arts and acrobatics and teaching him how to dance, and as someone who’s extremely skilled in the first two, the third comes easy to him, almost naturally. And it’s delicate and beautiful and lovely and it isn’t hurting anyone. And Venti points all these things out and more and despite how much Xiao insists that he feels ridiculous he truly does enjoy it and it goes a long way towards helping him form more healthy views of himself and his worth.  - Verr Goldett walked in on him once and made a joke about performing at the inn. unfortunately Venti was there and agreed on Xiao’s behalf before he could protest and- and it wasn’t as bad as Xiao thought it would be... he still wouldn’t do it again though without reason, but with good enough reasoning he could probably be convinced. 

- anyways point is he likes dancing to Venti’s songs and i just think that’s really cute - just picture the idea that all the animatics you see actually have the potential to be canon- ugh

- venti tries holding something out of Xiao’s reach since he’s taller and Xiao just fucking teleports 

- both need their space but when they dont, all they have to do is speak the other’s name and they’ll be there.

- and because i just had to.... love languages

- lets start with Xiao- i don’t think he’d view acts of service or quailty time as a love language tbh, and he blunt but really bad with words so affirmation is out, leaving gift giving and physical touch. However, he seems to view most material things as meaningless so- - Xiao who’s love language is in his fleeting touches, something he’s only recently grown comfortable with because of Venti, and now is giving back, which he knows he doesn’t have to do, but that he want’s to, though he’ll still continue to make excuses for each one. “you were shivering” “The inn is high up, you could have fallen..... I said what I said, you’d question an adeptus?”

- and as easy as it is to say words of affirmation for Venti- he does that for everyone- i want to say his is actually acts of service - its the acts of service that let him see just how much Xiao has progressed afterall, from teaching him to dance, to playing another song on the flute, to supplying him with the almond tofu he seems to enjoy so much. Every little thing he does helps Xiao to grow and he couldn’t be happier about that.

- of course most of my headcanons for the ship do take place latter into the relationship because- y’know the less serious unhealthy vibes allow for greater range of thought, but i do still love to think about the serious implications so i kinda hopped back and forth. So sorry about how messy it is btw, i kinda- got carried away- it kinda got some kind of structure near the end tho so- maybe it’s okay. anyway- back to... lol something, we’ll see where thought forests lead.
