Now the video itself and its lyrics, i really REALLY want to just compliment every single frame of this video, its so beautiful, so well done, its like it was blessed by The Muses of greek mythology,

Not only is this line so beautiful with the way her voice sounds, its pretty much a nod to the fact Tink and her friends kidnapped peter pan and the lost kids to keep her and her friends alive

Just Tink expressing her guilt that she and her friends kidnapped the lost boys so that they could keep existing, but like, JWHSEAJKHWED, she ofc doesn't want her or her friends to die, and since people are slowly not believing in fairies anymore, they're slowly going extinct, ALSO, Fawn and Silvermist are DEAD, so yeah, that messes with someones head

AAAALSOOOO, i LOVE their silhouettes, the height and weight differences instead of them all having the same height and weight like in the movies, plus, i LOVE that despite not looking like how they do in the movies, you can probably still tell who is who,

I love how Tink is gesturing in this scene, cause 1. It conveys to the audience what she wants from the lost boys and 2. Canonically, when fairies talk, people usually just hear jingling of bells, so shes gesturing because shes also conveying what she wants to the lost boys

I just love this line because it is a necessary evil, she needs the lost boys and peter pan in neverland to believe in fairies so that they exist, and Wendy is pretty much a threat, since she makes the lost boys want to grow up with families,

Also, the lost boys look so cute in here, i cant remember their names tho, one is holding a slingshot, aiming at wendy, one is holding rocks , and one has a stick , so Tink just told these children to assassinate Wendy, or at least attack her.

I love how Tink refers to Wendy as a "Nasty little spark" because, a spark can turn into a fire, damaging a lot of stuff and people, pretty much saying that Wendy has to be snuffed out before she causes a fire,

"Setting fires inside my house is just not allowed"

Pretty much referring to the fact that Wendy, the spark, is creating a fire, aka, making the lost boys want to grow up and go back to the real world, making them not believe in fairies anymore, thus, making her and her friends die, which is, not allowed.

Also. the fear in Tink's eyes is so fear, her expression is on point, the mix of concern and fear is just, so beautiful, also i love her pointed ears

Also, the fact that Tink is persuasive enough to convince someone to kill Wendy in such a short amount of time is impressive, and the fact that the mermaids agreed so quickly is also impressive,

When it failed, the absolute horror and shock on Tink's face? Shes horrified that another plan of hers failed, and shes scared that her friends might die, like, wow

The fact that Peter Pan (i cant even give him a nickname cause Pete sounds different and P.P. is just wrong and Pan is just A Thing), first at the gust of wind that blows away the pixie dust (which keeps the ship afloat) he covered his eyes, maybe cause the dust or his hair in his eyes, then he looks at Tink in anger and shock and probably some confusion, then looks at Wendy, in concern and fear,

Theory: Pan knows that, since Tink doesnt want the lost boys to leave, and he knows that gust of wind was from the fairies, and Tink's dislike and hatred to WEndy, that Wendy was probably the only one not going to be saved, which is why he only looks at her and tries to save her (that or he's a SIMPPPPPPP /j)

Who is Luzu?

Luzu was just announced as a QSMP member, and since he's a very important character in Karmaland and a VERY important person to Quackity's character, here's a quick rundown of Luzu and his lore for folks who aren't familiar with him:

Luzu is played by LuzuVlogs, a Spanish Twitch streamer who's good friends with Quackity!

IRL, they're such good friends that Luzu once accidentally called his real life son "Quackity"

Luzu is bilingual and can speak English and Spanish.

Luzu's character used to be a very kind, friendly, and loving man who helped everyone

HOWEVER, during Karmaland 4 (the season before Quackity joined) when he campaigned to be mayor of Karmaland, he was betrayed and mocked by his friends and the person he loved (who then ran off with someone else)

Luzu before the elections vs. after the elections

These two animatics sum up his K4 lore pretty well if you want an even shorter TLDR: Lemon Boy, Karma (an animatic approved by Luzu himself)

As a result, Luzu is a very vengeful, distrustful, and all around tragic character

Luzu canonically has an evil side, and he made a deal with "dark gods" in the past to take revenge on the people who've wronged him.

Despite all his past heartbreak and lingering anger, he immediately took a liking to Quackity when they first met.

Luzu and Quackity's Karmaland characters are parallels to each other

Luzu and Quackity were canonically in love with each other, but they were too emotionally constipated to confess their feelings despite their many, many, many romantic and borderline sexual shenanigans.

Luzu warned Quackity not to trust anyone in Karmaland except for him. But despite Luzu's deep mistrust of other people, he trusted Quackity immediately.

Luzu is a very possessive man, and very protective of Quackity.

He calls Quackity "Quacks" (both in and out of character)

He and Rubius have a long-standing rivalry, and they normally don't get along very well.

Luzu and Quackity had 4 (adopted) kids together.

When campaigning for mayor of Karmaland, Quackity asked everyone what they wanted most, and Luzu's response was, "I want you to be happy, Quackity."

HOWEVER, the day of the election, Luzu joined as an opposing candidate at the last second and stole the election from Quackity, fearing that the position in office might leave Quackity with the same trauma he had in a previous life (a life which he can only half-remember).

Luzu says everything he did, he did to protect Quackity.

TLDR: Luzu trauma-projected onto Quackity, who then started a revolution that nearly destroyed Karmaland in retaliation.

For a good TLDR of the revolution arc, “I Can’t Decide” is a good one to watch.

Even though he was furious with Luzu, Quackity told Rubius not to kill him. He’s referred to Luzu as “My 100%”, and “the best person I knew in Karmaland”, and even expressed his gratitude that Luzu was always so kind to him to Luzu himself, despite the war and despite knowing one of them would probably have to kill the other to end it.

Luzu said the song that best fits his character during the revolution arc is Bloody Mary by Lady Gaga.

Edit: This isn’t about the character, but I just saw what Luzu said in response to people asking him if he knew about the invitation:

Luzu: A mi Quackity me invitó desde hace bastante, me dijo si quería participar, así que llevo tiempo calladito, calladito, para no spoilear nada, aunque yo soy invitado no sé nada jaja, lo lleva todo Quackity, así que veremos con qué nos sorprende nuestro querido Quacks.

Translation: My Quackity invited me a long time ago, he asked me if I wanted to participate, so I've been quiet for a while, so as not to spoil anything, although I'm invited I don't know anything haha, Quackity takes everything, so we'll see what our beloved Quacks surprises us with.

TOMMY,S LORE STREAM RECAP 3…

(Again, this lore stream DOES contain c! and cc!Dream).

The opening, instead of the usual discs and Zelda music, is pure black and has one of the songs SAD-IST used in their animatics playing.

Clingyduo have been dragged into the prison by Punz and Dream. They admit they’ve lost and surrender. They're only alive because they’ve begged for their life.

Dream makes Clingyduo give everything. Dream beats and burns Tommy until he complies and Tommy is terrified, dropping everything even if it’s in his enderchest. It’s all burnt, except the discs which Tommy hides.

They’re taken to a hidden area of the prison, a platform above lava, and beaten until they agree to fall in. Tommy apologies and Tubbo accepts, but Dream and Punz come along, call it cute, and Dream starts monologuing.

Dream claims he wasn’t focusing on Tommy, instead on Sam, Quackity, and Wilbur (even though the reason he was focused on Wilbur is the discs, which is about Tommy by proxy) and says they doomed the server by nearly destroying the revive book. Tommy says that maybe that’s not bad, and talks about the times Dream went out of his way to harm him.

Dream calls Tommy and Tubbo caring about anything physical when there’s the metaphysical and revival. Tommy says no man should become a God, and Dream asks why not. He mentions continuing the revive book and wanting to become immortal, and knowing everything, and dismisses friends and countries as pointless. He says a life without immortality is pointless.

Punz reveals the staged finale. Dream blames the server hating him on Tommy, and Tommy points out that Dream ruined his life the past two server. Dream blames L'Manberg and Tommy mentions it was uninhabited before and a community.

Dream reveals he mind controlled Ranboo, and that he used him to trap Tommy with him in the prison. He also mentions Lazar and Vikkstar, and Tommy's horrified. The experiments went on for months, and involved EVERY form of death possible.

Dream's discovered the End while playing God, and reviving people has something to do with that. Punz and Dream have also revived each other.

People showing up on the server is a part of death, and revival has screwed it up horribly. The world could end, even. So, Dream's decided he's going to kill EVERYONE and restart the server.

Limbo changes based on how you die, and what happened beforehand. To test it more, and be test subjects. One of them will selflessly sacrifice themselves for the other, by falling onto a pressure plate that will kill the one who lands on it and spare the other.

Punz and Dream leave, and Tubbo and Tommy discuss it among one another. They both insist that they’re going to sacrifice themselves. However, Tommy instead throws the discs on the pressure plate. Out of character, he accidentally missed and he has to get discs spawned in his inventory to do so.

They jump down the hole formed to freedom (there’s another blooper here where Tubbo doesn’t know where to go and dies in lava). Tommy's incredibly distressed, both because the discs are gone and everyone’s gonna die anyone, and loads Punz's house with TNT, blowing it up in anger. Tommy fully thinks of Dream and Punz as Gods at this point.

Tubbo takes Tommy to a safe bunker in Snowchester. Tommy talks about all the things he loves that Dream destroyed- not just the discs. Tommy fully believes they’ve lost, while Tubbo refuses to give up.

Tommy cries beside the sea, about everything he’s lost and how he’s going to die. Tubbo reassures him that they didn’t die today, but Tommy can’t be consoled.

Tubbo takes Tommy into the bunker, and shows him the nukes. He says once Dream was dead, he was going to start developing rockets and explore the stars, hence why he wanted L'Moonberg.

Tommy asks if it’s active, and Tubbo confirms it is, but it’s unstable, and takes a long time to set off and fly. Tommy gets the idea to nuke Punz and Dream, as they’d die together, by Tommy luring them away and having all three of them die together. That way, not everyone on the server will die. He believes it’s all his fault. He thinks he’s even at fault for exile.

He, however knows Dream doesn’t want him dead at all, and is planning on letting Dream kill and torture him until the nuke kills all of them. He wants Tubbo to make a home in his memory, calling it Tommyburg and living happily with his son. Tommy continues to blame himself for Dream doing everything.

Tubbo thinks maybe being tortured is better than dying, and someone can save them, but Tommy says it’ll just be worse, and they’re the adults now. Tommy thinks no one would believe or help them.

The two of them go to look at L’Manberg, and Tubbo tries to cheer him up, and make his last moments pleasant, but Tommy's too caught up in his own self hatred and numb acceptance. Tommy goes to see the flag wave one last time, and asks for Tubbo to build the flag up high when he’s gone, so it flies in the wind, and asks Tubbo to carry on his legacy and tell everyone both of their stories. He takes the L'Manberg photo, says he'll be with Henry, and sits on the bench with Tubbo one last time, watching the sun set without music.

It ends with Tommy saying, numbly, “I’m going to die tommorow.” and Tubbo, crying, saying “Yes, you are.” and the Minecraft OST plays on the end screen.

I've come to the conclusion that Wolf in Sheep's Clothing (Set it Off) is actually really fucking musically interesting, regardless of the sheer cringe that overcomes people when they hear the opening chords and enter a state of horrified flashback.

(Really I think the 'cringe' associated with nightcore and those kinds of animatics are just more teenage-girl-hating nonsense, because as far as phases go, it's a pretty good one; it's almost, for some people, the first kind of musical subculture they know because it's the first time they're able to deviate from the set songs of their childhood and family to listen to their own music. Looking back to your nightcore phase with nothing but disgust and cringe only hurts you in the long run because if you're constantly scared you'll be cringe one day, you'll never be able to express yourself in a way that feels emotionally authentic and you'll never grow as much as a result.

This is Tumblr, though, so I'm preaching to the converted here, and it's a conversation for another post.)

But holy shit, that song is SO MUCH BETTER, musically, than it has any right to be. The use of two emotionally/musically contrasting bridges coming in quick succession before that final chorus? Inspired. You start listening to the first bridge, and you're like 'yeah, ok, we're at that part of the song now', and it's that Slightly Annoying Contrasting Section that lampshades the limited emotional range of the rest of the song, and we're going to be smooth and flowing here because it's about the potential for forgivene- hOly hEll WHAT THE FRICK IS THAT. Because suddenly, out of nowhere, there's a SECOND BRIDGE. And it's VERY DIFFERENT.

And your sense of tonal stability is ripped away by the lack of continuous chords as you grapple with not having constant support from the backing, and the vocalist is yelling about wanting to kill someone, and the whiplash is real, because it's a complete 180 from earlier and it came out of nowhere. You expected it to transition smoothly back into the chorus like every other song that does the same thing. By the time the 'burn in hell' bit comes, you're grasping for anything with a tonal/emotional centre to tell you what to expect.

And then the chorus hits again, but better.

You've found that tonal/emotional centre that you were looking for, but it feels so different than before. The texture of the chords is different, and you're sort of wrapped up in them, and you suddenly fully realise how emotionally cathartic the chords themselves are, with the constant building tension and release. The lyrics now have new meaning; the 'so tell me' is contextualised, now, by all the anger and hurt of the vocalist, and it means so much more. It almost seems more like they're begging for an answer, even if it still retains traces of that mocking, taunting tone from the other choruses. It really feels like that point in an argument when someone has just thrown their (metaphorical) cards down on the table and is looking the other person in the eye and daring them to tell them how they should feel, how they should react. It's so perfect for what the song is, and it's well supported by the musicality of the piece and the emphasis of the lyrics ('so tell me how you're sleeping easy, how you're only thinking of yourself').

But all of that was enabled by the composer's use of structure; the complete emotional recontextualisation of that chorus takes the piece to a completely new emotional plane, which is simultaneously more vulnerable and more cutting.

Like, damn. That's some good shit right there.

seeing parallels between heaven help us (mcr) and hell followed with us (aj white)

so i started rereading hfwu and im already insane about it. and i was listening to my hfwu playlist while i worked on a painting of benji, and heaven help us came on. and then i realized, the line, "mostly i've been sprawled on these cathedral steps while spitting out the blood and screaming, someone save us now" parallels PERFECTLY with benji's begging god/something to save him from new nazareth AND how he vomits up the flood rot/organs for the "spitting blood" part. then i realized the entire song narratively represents the book. lets go one verse at a time.

hear the sound, the angels come screaming / down your voice / i hear you've been bleeding / make your choice / they say you've been pleading: someone save us!

okay, well here the angels represents...the angels... the sound could either be their prayer or gunshots. and i think the next part matches up with how nick recognizes the flood rot benji spits up and knows that benji is the seraph from the first time they meet. the choice nick makes is to take benji into the ALC and to not say anything. the pleading is how benji frequently begs god to save him from new nazareth

and out of this old hotel / but i can't tell if i've been breathing or sleeping or screaming or waiting for the man to call / or all the above / cause mostly i've been sprawled on these cathedral steps while spitting out the blood and screaming, someone save us

"this old hotel" is the ALC, and benji "waiting for the man to call" could refer to how he's just waiting for the angels to come capture him again OR for the seraph to take him. then the spitting blood part is the flood rot organs vomit thing. yeah.

as you're falling down / and will you pray for me? / or make a saint of me? / and will you lay for me? / or make a saint of me? / cause i'll give you all the nails you need / cover me in gasoline / wipe away those tears of blood again

this part goes with the devasting part towards the end when benji is in new nazareth again and how the angels all praise and worship him. i'm not sure about the nails and gasoline part, this book doesn't deal much with themes of crucifixion. HOWEVER, the gasoline COULD be with the ALC fire scene.

and the punchline to the joke is asking: someone save us now / come crashing down / we'll hear the sound / as you fall

this part matches a little too perfectly. at the ending of the book, it's the IRONY. that benji uses the weapon the angels made of him to destroy the angels. the punchline to the joke is that benji uses all of his manipulation and trauma to fight back. the ALC group will witness benji take down this group that has killed lord knows how many people.

final thoughts:

im not accusing aj white of plagarism or anything, it's probably a coincidence. i genuinely just found this super fucking cool. i'm posting this so that i can look back on it and possibly make an animatic one day. also sorry if any of this is off or anything i haven't gotten past page 40 and i don't remember a whole lot of details

SO, in no particular order-

WOLFY WILL BE APPEARING AGAIN AND AGAIN! WOLFY NEVER MISSES WOOOO! The lyrics are wonderful and i love the blind in one eye look, it's so cool! watching cwilbur spiral in limbo as they reassess everything matches really well with song!!!!

I LOVEEEEE knp!!!'s art style and the moments they add line up PERFECTLY! Every chorus going "i miss you" at a different point in cwilbur's life as the song follows him through his story!

this circulates in my brain about three times a week MINIMUM i know i keep saying but i won't ever stop screaming about the LYRICS FITTING THIS SO WELLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!11!!!!!1 He didn't have it in himself to go with grace!! *points over and over again* And he can go anywhere he wants! i said Wolfy would be back and here it ISSSS!!! i ADORE explorations of cfundy's rocky relationship with cwilbur 'cause THAT'S HIS DAD *cries* and then switch to CPHIL and the CTOMMY, ommmmmgggg *holds gently* the family dynamics. yet it focuses on cfundy and i think we as a fandom neglect that part of the canon family or at least i can never get enoughhhhh

So this is ABOUT Revivedbur, and features a lot of flashbacks from the l'manberg eras as it changes alongside cwilbur. It's ctommy talking to cfoolish about cwilbur and i think about this conversation so often it's wonderful to see it in an animatic! it really highlights ctommy's philosophy and relationship with c!wilbur! ToKtopus

oh this one is so heavy but also so beautiful and i love it so much. This is where I adapted the headcanon into my brain that cwilbur had a l'manburg flag sewn on the inside of his jacket, over his heart, at all times. the silent monologue of ghostbur until the line at the end about everything around him being alive, except him.

sometimes i think wilbur and tommy listened to two bird right before starting the pogtopia arc and went "hey we should base our ENTIRE dynamic this arc on this" and then went live lol. I love this artsyle it's so cute and fits each character so well! I love the eyes in particular!

O to the Z to the Y to the MANDIUS wooo!!!! this changed MY brain chemistry and this changed the FANDOM's brain chemistry! if you are new here watch to change YOUR brain chemistry! and then go watch the rest of sad-ist they were one of the animators who popularized and showcased the lore of the dsmp arcs! Wilbur connects this poem to his character and it's so awesome seeing it read out and put to an animatic!

The mix of stream quotes with music is a SAD-ist staple and one of my favorite parts of their animations it just makes everything so hype! This just showcases the pogtopia arc up until right before the final battle so well! i love it every frame is a screenshot *chefs kiss*

And the odd-ball choice! Not cwilbur or ghostbur or l'manburg related, but instead it's that Oncelor song about the SCHLATT ADMINISTRATION! There is a eye strain warning in the title that gets cut off in the link, so I'm letting you know here! this is a really fun video and the colors are very saturated and fun! It has great humor and i laughed multiple times all while being very foreboding about what's going on in the Manberg era.

annnnndd there is a ten video limit so instead I'm going to link the last two:

knp!!!'s animatic "Not Your Fault" which is about cphil and his feelings after killing his son, going through the guilt and blame and all that good stuff. The follow-up to SAD-ist's animatic above is "Dawn of 16th" and is amazing as always for balancing the music with the dialogue to create and wonderful narrative about that day!

I just sort of want to get this out of my head so I can move onto other things, but I don't think Lilith is going to be what we expect her to be. Barring everything Vizzie previously stated about the Morningstar family, I just have this gut feeling she's not the big bad.

Lilith may be antagonistic at first, maybe not who knows at this point, but I don't think she's the problem that Sera seems so afraid of. Especially with how Lute approaches her at the beach, that is not someone who is afraid of Lilith. She insulted her daughter by calling her a brat, and made demands out of her. 

I know there are theories about Alastor and Lilith being in cahoots together because of them disappearing at the same time, and Alastor's attitude towards Lucifer. A lot of people think Lilith has Alastor on a leash, but correlation is not causation. I strongly believe Alastor just didn't like a stronger and more influential figure popping up at the hotel, what he considers his territory. Alastor is a grade-a-narc, and he likes to pick fights with bigger male authority figures to secure his place in their world.

In the finale, Alastor was distressed about his deal, possibly forcing him to stay at the hotel even though now it nearly got him killed. He wants out, but he’s scared of whatever or whoever has him, to the point he’s second guessing if there is even a way out at all. From here we see a very peculiar motif. These red eyes. Both in his tower (which don't appear anywhere else in the hotel), and his shield.

These eyes are literally everywhere, and in the beginning animatic we see that these eyes represent the pit” or Hell. They show up the minute Charlie mentions that a great black pit opened up, which her parents were then thrown into as punishment for allowing Evil to take hold of earth. Lilith and Lucifer are cast into these eyes. I know there is a theory that these are associated with Lilith, but I don't think so. I think they’re just representative of Hell itself, or the entity of Evil itself. Motifs are a BIG thing in Hazbin, everyone has one, especially the Morningstars. 

The motifs we know about Lilith are what we've physically seen so far. We know she inspired Hell through her music (which seems like a Morningstar habit honestly, they all do this). Charlie as a baby has music notes on her dress. 

The animatic in the beginning story shows Lilith with her music notes, as well as Charlie calling it back in her song " Happy Day in Hell". Then, after being shown Lilith and her music notes, then eyes show up at the bottom with the city of hell being created. 

Lucifer also has a call back to eyes since angels have many many eyes in their forms, especially Seraphim. However, his motifs almost always appear in golden yellow, both on his person and in his architecture. The Hotel has many eyes everywhere, but they are all clearly related to Lucifer either by their gold color or his maroon shade of red that's all over the hotel. They're almost always symmetrical in the architecture as well, while the hell eyes are more misshapen.

*Which side tangent, but it's very clear this Hotel used to belong to the Morningstars before it was abandoned and Charlie took up residence. It's dilapidated, heavily, to the point Charlie was willing to let Alastor in to help liven it up a little. Per the large circus imagery, I think it's safe to say it was Lucifer’s, for one reason or another, which is interesting.* 

Anyway, these Hell eyes are red, always. And Eve is very heavily associated with the color red in the very little amount we get to see of her. 

Even Lilith is standing outside the aura of red that surrounds Eve, Lucifer, and the Apples. 

Charlie's main motif seems to be hearts, and it's also shared with her father as he has a heart in his tail just like Charlies. 

What we know about Lilith is second hand, but I think it's fair to say Charlie would know her mother better than anyone (minus Lucifer obviously). Charlie says her mother loved her kingdom, and she passed that passion onto her daughter.  So whatever is happening with Lilith I believe has to do strictly with the exterminations and that only. A bargain, a willing prisoner, a tired and hopeless queen that’s done with it all? Who knows, but I don’t think she has anything to do with Alastor's whole ordeal, nor the enormous threat to Heaven as Sera talks about. 

I don’t know if it's Eve, or some other force, but I think Alastor is way more in over his head than making deals with Hell’s love struck family. I think he’s doing deeds on behalf of a much larger universal evil that’s present throughout all of hell. We know in the beginning that Evil existed before the creation of Eden, we see a creepy representation of it in the beginning standing next to “Good”. Good and Evil have been at war for eons. This force was itching to get its blood red hands on Earth, and so just maybe it also wants a piece of Heaven. 

Alastor wasn’t sent to the hotel to check up on Lilith’s daughter. I think he was sent to have the best chance anyone could at getting a foot into Heaven. We have to remember Charlie is Lucifer’s daughter, the King of Hell that still has connections to Heaven. Enough to get a meeting for his daughter. No one knows what gets a soul into Heaven, and considering how messed up Adam was, it may not even have to be real or mean anything. Charlie wouldn’t take Alastor that first time, because she didn’t owe him anything. Now she does, per their deal after her failed negotiations. As long as none gets hurt, but having her let him join along for their next holy vacation or something similar would fit that criteria.

Sir Pentious making it to Heaven would send Sera into a panic. I doubt she wants sinners, people that have been touched by evil, barging through the gates into Heaven redeemed or not. Clearly by her face, she’s distressed. Sera doesn’t want a war with Hell, because of what is in Hell. Evil has never had a better opportunity to corrupt the incorruptible than it does with an army of demons and a deluded Princess with dreams. Just like her father. 

So I don't think Lilith is the villain. A small one, maybe, but Lucifer still wears his ring and Charlie speaks the world of her. She looked happy in her portraits with her family, and I don’t doubt she’d do anything to protect them, but that’s an entirely different argument. No, I think Lilith exists to distract everyone from what is lurking underneath. Lilith and Alastor might have disappeared at the same time due to a similar cause, but I don’t believe it's because Lilith initiated a deal with him. Alastor was lured into a deal with a much larger threat, the same threat that concerned Sera enough to start the exterminations in the first place, that might have also triggered Lilith’s involvement.

Of course this is all speculation, and there really is no solid proof, but I just need this written and pushed away from me so I can move onto other thoughts. I know there was, or may be a character called Roo, but I try not to involve older concepts or ideas since so many things can change when the final scripts and show are done. I'm just going off strictly what we have seen straight in the show.

last song i listened to: So I'm actually going to plug three songs that I've been absolutely obsessed with over the past weekend and have been listening on repeat as a result, all by the same artist -- Lydia the Bard, over on YouTube.

Lydia makes villain songs for the Disney princesses (among other Disney female characters). Her first handful were just lower pitched versions of their songs (or songs from their movies), but as she progressed she started changing lyrics, and now she's really grown and is making the songs more and more unique, culminating in finally creating a wholly unique villain song for Tinkerbell, which just came out and is my favorite.

"Fall Little Wendy Bird Fall" recontextualizes Tinkerbell's animosity toward Wendy. In this version, Tinkerbell and the other fairies of Pixie Hollow brought Peter Pan and the other Lost Boys there because, due to the nature of fairies' existence depending on humans believing in them, fairies were dying all around them as humans grew up and stopped believing. So the only way to secure their own lives was to make sure their humans never grew up. But Wendy threatens that by making Peter and the others long for human lives. Therefore, Tinkerbell sees her as a threat who must be taken out to save her own and her friends' lives. Not only does this song make Tinkerbell a far more compelling character, but the vocal performance is stunning, and the animatic that goes with it is amazing as well. Literally obsessed.

The other two I'm obsessed with are Meg's (where Hercules betrayed her as well & she kills Hades & takes his power) and Isabela's (where Mirabel doesn't get to her in time, and her resentment over the arranged marriage drives her to snap). Meg's is a bop and has a killer line in "In time they'll say I was cruel 'cause I cared", and I'm sorely tempted to use her final look at the end of the animatic as my Halloween costume this year. Meanwhile, Isabela's is also killer musically of course, and has equally fire lines like, "What could you possibly expect was gonna happen when you made me? / Tend to a plant with poison and expect a flower, are you crazy?" They're both just so good.

favorite color: Purple! Specifically cool shades, and especially cool shades that are more pastel, mixed with grey. I also like blues and greens that are faded like that, too.

currently watching: A little while ago I had started rewatching Sabrina the Teenage Witch since I hadn't watched it since middle school, but once I got to season four it got . . . bad . . . and it has continued to be bad . . . so I've kind of stopped watching lmao. I've lately been rewatching Jenny Nicholson's videos, but I finished that, so now I've gone back to rewatching Jenna Marbles videos. Oh, and I really love this series on YouTube called Bistro Huddy! It's hilarious, and Drew (the guy who portrays all the characters) is fantastic, he really melts into the roles so you almost forget it's one guy doing all of them. Highly recommend checking it out.

current obsession(s): Aside from the songs mentioned above, I've been really thinking about one OC in particular of mine, and her story / novel . . . she's a character that I first created when I was about 13 or so, and has gone through a lot of development since then, but I've been fleshing out a lot more of her story and how she fits into this new original world I've created (since she was originally created for a Legend of Zelda role play, albeit even back then she came from a country outside of Hyrule). I really love and cherish her a lot, even though most other characters think she fulfills the "girl who is stupid" role in the adventuring party, and on some level she also believes this about herself, and to be fair she's not academically gifted at all, but to be even more fair the school and in fact overall society she was raised in was extraordinarily fucked up and no one actually tried to teach her in a way that would help her learn and in fact learning disabilities were seen as personal failings and --

Ahem. Anyway. I have long since described her as "pure of heart, dumb of ass," and in many ways she is, but for the second half, she's not in the way most everyone around her growing up assumed she was (including herself), or like, even if she is it wasn't 100% her fault (like yeah she slept in class and that was on her, but also she wasn't going to learn whether she was awake or not because her teachers were not going to be able to teach her the material because it was a One Size Fits All approach to teaching even when it really wasn't -- and that's only scratching the surface of the problems in her school / culture, it's a huge systemic thing). But yeah I've just been thinking about her a lot. Karin's my girl and I love her lots.

cellbit has a martyr complex, he thinks he is better off dead, he is putting himself out there, he wants the feds to know it's him killing the workers, he nows that this is not ending well, but he is doing either way because he knows (at least he thinks so) that this is the only way to save the people he loves, he is willing to die so they can have a chance to leave the island and be free, and he won't stop

bagi on the other side is little codependent, she spent her whole life trying to find her brother, trying to save him, and she blames herself for no finding him soner, she thinks it's her fault that he is the way he is, she thinks that she wasn't enough and that maybe if she was, he wouldn't have end up the way he did, so she wants to help him, she really does, even thought the brother she once knew is not really there (also something i want to dive more in because we do see that brother sometimes, when he is with the eggs for example), but she can't let him go this path, because she nows that there will be consequences, and that he may lose himself, or worse he may die

so she is trying get him to come down of the roof, or in their case, stop the killing

the voice in his head is himself, not in a double personality way but as intrusive thoughts cause like he said, there isn't a f!cell and a q!cell, he is cellbit and he is a little fucked up (as someone with intrusive thoughts myself i found that funny, let me cope the way i want)

cellbit is looking for a way to help people, he doesn't want them to go through the same pain that he went, so he puts himself in the position of a martyr, someone that is willing to die for his cause, but he is also tired, tired of trying, tired of containing, tired of not felling anything, so he let go, he let's his intrusive thoughts win (THOSE ARE REAL INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS GUYS, NOT WANTING TO DYE YOUR HAIR AT THREE AM)

cellbit has said before that he doesn't like the person he used to be, he said once to richas that he was something way worse than a hero, so a rat isn't that far from it, he deserves nothing but death

the thoughts tell him as much, he must die, and he must take as many workers with him, if he can't infiltrate, if playing their game is not enough, if he is not enough, so let's be the monster they made him to be, if people don't trust him, let's give them a reason not to

but bagi won’t let him do this, so she tries to talk him out of this

now for a more ilustrated way (my brain only thinks through animatics even thought i have no strength to take this images and put them in paper) i think he sees the intrusive thoughts as himself, he is what he is most afraid of after all, and bagi is talking to him, but he doesn't see her as she is, she see a child talking to him, he sees the sister he could have had, he sees the sister he didn't have

at the end of the song, when there is only bagi talking he finaly see her as she is, as a woman, a woman who lost her childhood trying to find her brother, a woman who fought hell and back to get to his brother, a woman who loves him, a woman who doesn’t want to lose him, a woman who could be his sister again, if he would just come down of that roof

Most people think that Technoblade is the one with the most bottled up feelings but to be honest I feel like that is Philza. He's always the father of the group and the one you always expect to be the "responsable" one, of course that bird man knows how to hide his emotions and keep them all inside him which sometimes makes unable to actually show them freely.

I feel like an example of that is Technoblade's execution, most people put Philza in fanarts or animatics in a really emotional state. But to me, how Philza actually reacted was more like "Oh... This is actually hapenning... huh?-" like in acceptance, I hc that he was in shock and didn't know how to properly respond to the situation at hand. Also because he's inmortal, he has seen many people die in his life but seeing Technoblade almost die was the second thing after many centuries that made him shed more than a tear afterwards. (First one was when wilbur died)

I’m nodding my head in agreement here. Techno is actually pretty emotionally stable and in touch with himself, but philza is hiding his emotions a lot. Or maybe not hiding, but a lot of people read philza a little wrong if they don’t actually watch his pov. This includes the other caracters as well. (Witch is one of the things that make story told like the dream smp so fun. You get really close to one caracter, but it’s harder to read other caracters becouse you only see them trugh somebodyelses eyes. You don’t get the other caracters ‘’inner monologues’’ from the streamer when you just watch one pov <3 love that)

Love how you used the execution as a exsample becouse it fits really well! If you’ve only watched techno, tubbo or quackity’s pov you wouldn’t know that philza broke out of his ‘house arrest’ to follow the butcher army as they went to find techno. Philza knew they were comming and his ‘act of surprise ’ when they brought techno in is only half true. Philza had hoped techno would have been able to escape (he knows techno like that) and his ‘’I can’t believe they actually cought you’’ is genuine but not quite as dramatic as the animations make out. But there is genuine concern for techno and resentment growing for new l’manberg growing in phil when he sees tubbo and fudy (and quackity and ranboo but they don’t have too much of a ‘conection’ with phil yet) actually go trough with their plans against techno.

But for someone who doesn’t watch phil or techno and might not ‘know’ philza as well during that scene might think of his emotions like dipair and fear for this frend and his own entapment. But someone who watches both techno and philza can see that phil is actually keeping a very leveld and calm attitude, conerned? Yes, techno is his best frend after all and loosing him like this would be horrefying. But not quite in dispair like he was over having killed wilbur. Shock is a good reading of his feelings, but i also found him more frustrated that he can’t do anyting than sad. (Phil was not happy when tubbo shot that arrow at him. Litterly a ‘’philza will remember this’’ type of moment lol)

Techno and Phil both hold their emotions close and uses them to fouel their actions. But techno is better at knowing himself and making himself clear with what he’s saying (if only people actually listen to him) and philza tends to pretend and hide his true feelings, like a mask that might look like what he’s actually feeling, but it’s a little stiff. Philza might also be better at lying than techno, like in a cassual way. (Techno is actually pretty bad at telling lies when confronted, he can make exscuses and avoid the question, but when confronted directly he gest … idk ‘figety’? It’s fun to see)

I’m once again rambeling. There are just so many ways to inerpert them! Philza and his emotions is so funny to see in how he RP’s as a content creator, and i feel like he’s really grown a lot at being more clear when he’s ‘acting as a caracter’ in the qsmp vs the dream smp.

Hazbin Hotel Rant

In the pilot for Hazbin Hotel, Angel Dust remarks that he "has a reputation to uphold" and that it would crumble if people found out he was trying to "go clean." You wanna know what that says? Angel is afraid of potential repercussions for trying to find a healthier way to cope with his afterlife and heal the wounds from his past. People who've dealt with the same thing Angel's going through can understand his fear. It's not easy to kick an addiction, especially if you're using it to cope. Still, Angel has Charlie, Alastor, Niffty, Cherri Bomb, and the fandom by his side. He might feel alone at times, but he's got support. We're all here for ya, Angel. Some comments on "Use Me Up" by PARANOiD DJ are from people who have dealt with or still are dealing with a similar situation. They say the song's like a beacon of hope, an inspiration. One person said it feels like they've got someone by their side saying, "Hey, you'll beat this. I know it's rough, but it's better than being chained to something that'll kill ya." And the replies to those comments are just as uplifting as the song itself. Everyone's sharing encouragement and kind messages, it's such a positive thing! Other adult TV shows can actually gloss over or sugarcoat stuff like abuse or addiction, which just tells me that the creators are scared of covering serious topics, and they'd rather pretend they don't exist or treat them like a fucking joke. Vivziepop is seriously brave for exploring sensitive stuff like this so thoroughly, and she has my respect. I can say the same for the voice actors and everyone creating songs and animatics for Angel Dust. The songs depict his situation uniquely, and the animations are so well done! The official music video for "ADDICT" is beautiful yet tragic. It shows the reality of Angel's afterlife and the glitz and glam he hides it with. There's a scene where Angel's dancing on a catwalk as part of a show, and flashes of Angel having nightmares or something show up throughout. They only last a second or two, but the contrast is striking. Just goes to show that fame's not all it's cracked up to be and that celebrities are still human, no matter how popular they are. These lines from ADDICT sum up addiction so well, it's heartbreaking: "I'm addicted to the sorrow, when the buzz ends by tomorrow. There's another rush of poison flowing into my veins, giving me a dose of pleasure that resides by the pain." It doesn't matter what someone's addicted to, be it substances or something else, addiction is a double-edged sword. It'll numb the pain for a while, but that only means you'll hurt even worse when it wears off. I love it when a fictional character can shine a light on real issues just by being themselves, it's such a beautiful thing. I really hope Hazbin Hotel doesn't get obliterated by censoring when it airs in January, that would suck. Besides, it's supposed to cover mature topics like abuse, addiction, etc. That's why it's rated Mature in the first place. 

Author's Note: Damn, I didn't realize how sad this was until I read the whole thing while proofreading. I'm actually tearing up, holy shit. I'm gonna fucking sob during the angst scenes in Hazbin Hotel, I know it. My spider boi doesn't deserve so much pain. No one does. I wouldn't wish that nightmare on my worst enemy, no matter how badly they hurt me. That kind of anguish could easily drive someone to do drastic things.

dazai turning around and running out of the room, and as the next line enters, the scene changes from him running in the mafia hq to him running in meursault

they are dancing into the security room with the dead guards, and dazai immediately props himself by the microphone

this time it's not dazai being spoken to, but rather him talking to fyodor, we see him say these words, smiling

but then his smile goes away as we see chuuya drowning next to fyodor as well

he turns around, and we get a hard cut to dazai and sigma in the elevator

the room filling up with water, dazai and sigma slowly starting to drown

and that's it! short and simple. idk how vivid that one was esp given a lot of it just canon scenes and less imagery and symbolism but it's very vividly imagined in my head and i hope it is now in your head too :)

I made another playlist but this time it's dedicated rather than inspired (ngl I interpret your au as very angsty so there's a lot of rgb and hero angst songs in there whoop)

I don't even know if it's obvious why i chose most of the songs i did lmao but they all relate to them in some capacity

Also the song "Soup Song" feels fitting to them for some reason like

And "My backpack’s full of hate mail that makes me want to cry" and "I hate you and I loved you for a very long time" especially like-

Feels like how hero might act under the influence of hate (if it even works like that, i always imagined it as hate making hero despise rgb or strengthening those thoughts she might've had when she was younger)

And then some of it being rgb like "The shoes I bought you crunched my necklace" or "I wish that I was lovable like a warm cup of soup... I try to be lovable like a warm cup of soup"

I'm not crazy right this kinda fits

This accidentally turned into a whole essay so it's under the cut if you'd like to read just so many words of excitement about characters

The combination of Angst/Family in this AU is STRONG, and that Hate and Hero interpretation is SPOT ON. It's what Hero fears the most about Hate. She spends a lot of the (eventual) story telling herself that all of the anger and sadness and trauma just marinating inside her and causing her to lash out is because of Hate herself, but Hate explicitly tells her that "It's all you. Everything. All the anger, the regret, the guilt, the Hatred. I'm just a magnifying glass."

The Soup Song is actually SUCH a perfect song for them, and especially Hero with "If I had the tendency to yell your ears would be numb. If I had it in me to tell you off you would be done. I'm not used to feeling so down and so dumb." She doesn't WANT to be mad at RGB, and she Hates the part of herself that IS, so she tries to ignore it entirely. (Spoiler alert! It Does Not Go Well.)

She loves RGB SO much but there's a part of her that is just SO mad at him for dragging her into this. Emotions are complicated, and she's the master of feeling two things at once. She understands his motive, and even sympathizes with him, but that doesn't change the fact that she wishes he hadn't. But then again, if he hadn't, she never would've known him at all, and she is in fact extremely grateful to know him and LOVE him as both a friend, and as a father figure.

They're So similar and So different at the same time and it's just...AUUUGH

There's an animatic I have planned from the radio drama "Dangerously Yours," where Hero's in her Knight form, but she's also very clearly not just parroting Hate. She's saying stuff and it's coming from her HEART, and it TERRIFIES her. She feels betrayed, and lied to, and conned, but she also LOVES him and how he's cared for her and tried SO SO HARD to make up for all that he's done and for bringing her here in the first place.

The Hero Knight thingy is basically a way for Hero to finally voice everything she's been trying so hard to keep in and under control. If you've ever seen Steven Universe Future, you know that cactus episode, where Steven talks to the cactus about all his feelings and problems but then the cactus gets out of control and Steven ends up fighting it in front of the people he loves, but also has complicated feelings about. (I'm aware of how strange this sounds if you've never seen it, but just trust me). Hero NEEDS to let all the contempt, and guilt, and regret, and, yes, Hate, go, but there's no way in hell she would do that on her own, so...Hero Knight!

It's pretty much just a glorified version of me shoving them into a locked room, shaking them violently, and saying "TALK ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS"

There's a line in that radio drama that I LOVE for this AU, and it's "You forget how close Hate is to Love."

They have to fight with themselves and each other OFTEN, but in the end, they just want the other to be alright. They want to PROTECT each other, and BE THERE for each other, because RGB shouldn't have had to beg for another chance, and Hero shouldn't have had to help him try to save the world. Their situation is SO unfair, and they both know it.

They both have things they despise themselves for, as well. Hero Hates herself for not saving the world and, in her eyes, letting RGB down. He needed a Hero, and she couldn't save him, or anyone else for that matter. RGB Hates himself for dragging all those people, but most of all Hero, into this whole mess. He wishes he would have just given up, but he didn't. He fought, but did so in the most clever but cowardly way a person could, and others paid the price HE should have paid.

This AU is about the characters working through their flaws and the complexity of emotions. "When you first revealed your betrayal by first reaction was 'how dare you rob me of my trust?' But not even this would be able to shake out foundation 'cause it was created by us." (My Heart Still Beats--Marina Mena). Hero and RGB have been through SO MUCH together, and the bond that they share, despite the undercurrent of other feelings that may reside there, is something truly special. they LOVE each other, and nothing can change that. "It hurts but I'm not about to give you up" (same song).

In short--This playlist is AWESOME and I love EVERY SINGLE SONG CHOICE AAAAAAAAAA <3 <3 <3
