now that the uni2 honeymoon period is setting in some... ive been thinking about specifically merkava's good ending a whole lot for the past 2 days out of everyone... (excluding enkidu because. yknoww teehee. hehe. haha.) ive been thinking about how genuinely adorable his reaction to being a human is. seeing merkava suffer for well over a decade across games and getting to be genuinely vindicated for trying to keep that human part of him still there. i think no part shows that at its best but at the beginning of the end of his kuon fight (sorry thats a mouthful) where when hes eating him up, in the bad ending human merk's narration is taken over by the merk we know, completely frenzied, but in the good ending human merk's narration continues...until he realizes this isn't him internally monologuing anymore he's just a guy now! i also just think him having two endings makes his arcade route the most impactful out of everyone especially since merkava is already like one of the coolest and most interesting fg characters like...ever. it really highlights the stakes of his wellbeing and how an overwhelming night like that effects it. i feel like underwhelming endings like byakuya's or the re-birth'd endings of hilda and carmine could've benefitted from a bad/good ending path structure too... take mega advantage of how arcade modes in fgs function for your final game dammit!!!!

i like seeing him thrilled at all the small things he can feel now as a human. when he fully processes the fact that he is a Real guy now the first thing he just thinks is what he wants to do...and how just living a normal ass life, even the struggle parts, is all he wanted (even if brought up upon a gag scene) its good to see merkava...happy after so long as someone thats followed this game since like, uniel? while questions remain unanswered abt him (like his ties with orie) his salvation is the most rewarding out of everyone because of the nature of his character. its cute to imagine him just doing normal things while his speech is still oddly formal and probably still a behemoth height wise and also his hair just being like that. moe if you will. with that said wheres my fucking 12 episode slice of life human merkava anime i want to see that grown ass man live a satisfying life. please for the love of god i just want to see it. this is why we need that chronicle mode patch. i wanna see other characters react to him suddenly being a hot man. why did they have to lowkey rush uni2 out the door

the merk = hollow god theory going around is also pretty interesting because while i can see that conclusion for obvious reasons (HE LITERALLY SAYS THE TITLE BY NAME LOL,) i also feel like he would've had a power trip moment like hilda and carmine did when they converted if he really REALLY did inherit stuff from the hollow god? but merkava is just...normal. he's just overwhelmed with the joy of getting to indulge himself. so either thats a testament to how humble the hollow god was or like merk's deep humanity just overrid any of that nonsense. i prefer just human merkava being human merkava because that implies he truly is just a regular weird good guy and possibly was just that in his past too.

i wish i had been thinking abt merk's ending this deep when i made that initial answer to @/starocide's ask because the implications of both his endings for him as a character AND LIKE GENERAL UNI WORLDBUILDING are insanely fucking valuable when you think about it. its up there with chaos's arcade route with how much it forwards it. is there hope for all voids in general with what the good ending implies? im so curious now....

Hi!! Hello!! Your worldbuilding has once again enchanted and fascinated me! But I have no one to talk to about mcyt-related worldbuilding so I’m just going to (definitelynot) shout (ha ha. I’m funny.) at you if that’s ok!!

Ever since I found this fandom I’ve been fascinated by how to deal with video game mechanics in writing, and I’ve found it a very interesting ongoing puzzle, to come up with worldbuilding or lore to explain the more mechanical, coding-based stuff and cover up the fact that the characters are in a videogame. I think that’s part of why I love your worldbuilding so much, because you went in completely the opposite direction, and made Code the base, the reality-fabric, of all the rest of your universe! It kinda blew my mind!

Anyway, the player inventory and in-game chat are two of the most glaringly Video Game mechanics, and two of the first that I came up with explanations for, which is why I (like Tango) latched onto those few lines and details about them in chapter four. For me, they’re both explained by the very flexible fabric of reality inherent to server-words. Because reality is so easy to manipulate (and be manipulated without breaking down) in these worlds, it’s easy for Players to simply open a small personal pocket dimension they can store stuff in. (The same way it’s easy to make something float by just leaving it there and taking away what connects it to the ground) the chat happenes basically the same way. Server-worlds allow for a very shallow telepathic link across all players that everyone experiences a little differently (you might see it scroll across the inside of you arm, look at it in the corner of your vision, actually hear it quietly in your head, etc.)

But that’s a lot of My Ideas, I am, in fact, here because of Your Ideas. Because I’ve alway seen them as sperate things, and I am So Curious about how you’ve linked them. The chat being on external comms on a watch or phone-like device seems pretty common in the fandom, but linking them the way you have — in that you can’t have an inventory without a comm — raises so many questions!! (/pos) how do they work? Are they mechanical? Magical? Natural? Bio-magical? If they were something that needed to be invented, who invented them? How long have they been around? What did people do before then? How does a new player get their first comm/inventory? If comms can comunicate across worlds, could they theoretically take their inventory across worlds/servers as well? Is cross-void trade a very dangerous, but lucrative, profession? Do they have to exchange comm-phone-numbers or can they immediately contact anyone they’ve ever met? If you have stuff in your inventory and you loose your comm, do you lose the stuff too? Or does it transfer like an ender chest? Could someone else steal your inventory by stealing your comm? Does a player have to attune to a comm like a dnd magic item? How common is it to have to build a new one?

I’m gonna stop now because this is really long, it’s 11, and I Will just keep thinking of more questions. I’m so intrigued by this!! Those few little lines have completely captivated me with their potential!! I’m excited!!

Ive been 👁️👁️ at this ask since you sent it in and first of all im so sorry the autism won for a bit and kept me from answering your questions, second of all i think your worldbuilding is SO NEAT :DDD this is SUPER COOL i love your ideas, comms being a telepathic link is so interesting to me!!! Also, im intensely flattered that you like the direction i took with hunger au's worldbuilding so much!! I've been having a lot of fun sorta marrying biology and irl physics with computer programming-based building building blocks for this universe, to the point where im actually starting to put together a legit glossary in my masterlist doc to keep it all straight in my head 😂😂😂 it's an interesting challenge for me to try and meld all these things together so i can make something that feels completely different from our world without losing its relatability, so im super glad you're appreciating it!!!

These are a lot of questions im gonna try and answer all at once, so i'll put it beneath the cut so it doesnt clog people's dashes LMAO

So firstly, the way i view communicators is,,, okay dont laugh too hard but i literally just visualize them as pip boys from fallout SKDNJWNDJS for some reason ive NEVER been able to shake that mental image, so ive just sorta accepted that into how i view them for hunger au. Personally, i see them as sort of a... mishmash of the bio-mechanical, something that isnt QUITE a direct part of them but is very much attached and integrated with their code. So its not like an organ, but an interface, i guess-- comms are how you can access an inventory, which is basically just hammerspace the way you've already described it, and where you can change your own surface code, and its also just... the way Players are able to interact with the worlds around them.

You also send messages with comms, but instead of there being anything like phone numbers, you're forming a direct link between your comm and someone else's!!! Not telepathic the way you've done with your worldbuilding, but because i see comms in this universe as something that latches onto and interacts with your code, its still a very important connection. Once connected, you can talk to that person all the time through your comm, even if they arent currently on your server-- although I do think that this only extends to when youre within the same server cluster.

As for how Players get them in the first place: for spawned Players, they just spawn in with them. Thats where the bio part comes in i think, and its a little hard for me to explain the way i view it, but its something like... i guess a bit like when moons form around planets. The code of an entity has a certain weight to it, and when a Player and their singleplayer world spawns in, the comm does with them, already attached and integrated with their code. For birthed Players, its very different-- they arent born with a comm, so they need a comm made, and then integrated with their code by a skilled code wrangler. It is VERY tricky to make a comm-- theyre incredibly fiddly, super hard to code without mistakes, and they take an extraordinarily long time to put together, let alone integrate properly with someone's code. Im not sure the word dangerous is the most accurate term here, but there are potentially harmful consequences if you integrate a poorly made comm with someone's code.

As for inventory transfer, i think you can bring stuff in your inventory from one server to another. This is mostly used for personal items or gifts, i think-- Player culture and attitude generally emphasizes fun, and whats more fun than giving someone something special that you made/got for them, or bringing a little memento with you from an old world you want to remember?

Theoretically, im sure there are Players who bring supplies or previously used tools with them to new worlds, but i think most Players like the excitement and challenge of starting fresh. It all depends on the person and the community culture surrounding that server if its a multiplayer. Cross-void trade is probably definitely a thing, but i dont think its necessarily very dangerous, just something more personal that you'd do for yourself or for a friend rather than any kind of business model.

As for someone being able to steal a comm, i dont think you can if its attached to the Player it belongs to, because at that point its basically a part of them. They can take them off, though, so someone could potentially steal it then, but unless theyre a skilled code wrangler and can crack into it, i dont think it would work for them or let them access that person's inventory. It would, however, be an incredibly effective (and cruel) way of controlling someone's actions and where they can go/who they can talk to.

This is why, ultimately, lost comms are a huge deal; losing your comm is literally losing access to pieces of yourself, your world, and your community. And while as a Watcher, Grian doesnt technically need a comm to access his code or enter other servers, he does still need it to keep in touch with other people and facilitate those community bonds, as well as keep an inventory. So yeah, Tango fretting over Grian losing his comm was very much warranted.

Ocean Wave, Part 2: A Winding Current

“I was curious.” Dracmon fidgets idly with the little golden loop near the spike on his right wing. “Somethin’ about you drew me in… and I couldn’t walk away. When we fought together, it felt right. More right than anything I’ve ever, ever felt. And now… I just want to be with you.” Dracmon wasn't always by Kaito's side. Which begs the question: part 1 - footprints in the sand Who was he, before the arrival of his other half? part 2 - a winding current And what was he doing, on that fateful day?

Part 2 covers the moment that Dracmon and Kaito met for the first time. once again, tumblr dot shit hides posts with external links in tags, so the ao3 link is in the source.

SO there was a TON of ideas that went into part 2, mostly stemming from, as i've mentioned, me being mad that kaito and dracmon were the only ones not to get a fancy champion evo sequence on-screen. i said in my authors note on ao3 that as i was playing, i just assumed it happened off-screen, but then i asked myself "what if it didnt?" and the answer i came up with was "maybe dracmon could already innately reach champion" and then i worked backwards from there.

next - aesthetic changes to dracmon. i am a HUGE sucker for digimon being matchies with their partner. before dracmon met kaito, i think all of his eyes were red, both the ones on his face and the ones on his hands, and the ones that are green only became that way after meeting kaito and devolving from sangloupmon. it's kind of like in tamers when beelzemon's eyes change colour after he makes amends with his partners. i also made changes to the accessory situation - after meeting kaito, instead of the little chain with the green gem in the middle, dracmon would have piercings on his wingtips that are the same shape and on the same side as kaito's. i have like... a written list of all aesthetic changes across all stages for all the partner digimon at this point (except for renamon and gabumon - still thinking about those ones) so i will accept any invitation to blabber about them! i LOVE that shit, i cannot emphasize that enough!!

formatting this time was a little less intense - i only had one table i needed to work with, and tbh, most of my formatting issues were about indentation. im actually not really a fan of the standard ao3 formatting patterns, where there's double spacing after each paragraph and no indentation. i much much prefer how it is in most novels, where there's no double spacing and every paragraph is indented. i know people tend to be fussy about formatting in fics, and most of the ones ive seen use the double-spacing no-indenting situation. it's understandable, formatting is something i'm fussy about as well, so im trying to strike a balance between the way i like it and the way i've noticed that most others like it.

i like indenting. i use it to like... give a sense of flow to conversations and/or differentiate/shift between spoken word and narration. the vibe im trying to give when i increase indentation from line to line is that the conversation speed is picking up. im not sure how well that was conveyed, but i think it works all right.

once again, like in alligators, i left some deliberate loose ends. the most obvious one is "if that first tether pulling dracmon toward the ocean wasn't kaito, then what was it?" and listen. dont even worry about it (:

as im replaying the game, im noticing some really interesting stuff about the state of the digital world. in like...part 7, i think, there's an optional free time event where you can recruit a tentomon, and it mentions that a lot of other digimon have been behaving aggressively lately. paired with the fog, i think that what's happening is that the shrinking digital world is causing a lot of digimon to have to live in close quarters, and that a lot of them are "young" in the sense that they're still feral and incapable of speech or reason. that, plus the continuous spread of the fog, would make for a really hostile environment for the remaining areas of the world. im quite happy with the theory i've got that digimon might sometimes lose a bit of memory every time they regenerate. if you subscribe to that idea, the unusual aggression among the wild digimon makes a lot of sense - they're all young, they all keep getting exploded and forgetting what's going on, theres this terrifying fucking fog EVERYWHERE, which just feeds back into wild digimon being more on-edge, and therefore more aggressive. thats why tsumemon is a little unsure of hanging out with koromon at first in part 1 - it's a dangerous world for little guys!

this is kinda connected to why i have the digimon half of the cast crossing paths with one another. tsumemon and koromon have met, yeah, (even though they don't remember anymore) but also i think a few of the other characters have met too. i didn't linger on it, but kunemon was in part one of ocean wave , albeit very briefly, trying to warn dracmon about seadramon lol. Now Why Would He Do That? again. don't worry about it (:

and at last - what's next? i mentioned in another text post a few days ago that ideally id like to go back to some shuuji and lopmon stuff. ocean wave set up some context about a couple of things i want to explore about shuuji and lopmon's relationship, as well as some . hmm. alternate events. and what effect those alternate events have on the two of them. "what do you mean" dont worry (: mostly it is just me self-indulgently fixing a few gripes i had with truthful route's part 6. i'd also at some point like to post some doodles of aesthetic changes. i have a few sketched out but they're very messy lol

my personal top 5 favorite luke cards (with rambling rationale ofc, by this point it's a standard in my posts kjbfajsfkf)

before i start, i'd like to note that this list is only taking into consideration cards that are available on the global server as of april 28, 2022 buuuuut already including Secrets of the Tomb event that only releases tomorrow cuz kjbkHBH IVE ALREADY SEEN LUKE’S CARD STORY THERE AND IT’S GOT A PLACE ON THIS LIST CUZ I RLLY LOVE IT!! this list also only ranks cards with stories because thats what im basing my rank on, so that disqualifies all the SR cards that are only audio messages and the MR card as well

with that outta the way, let's go from 5th most fave one by one to my most favorite of all cards thus far!!

5th place: SSR Alluring Gaze

this was among the first luke cards i ever watched and i was reeling from the sheer angst in luke's personal story 1 and 2. please, i said to this card. please be a lighthearted yet entertaining chaser for my angst drowned heart.

"you are safe now, my child," said SSR Alluring Gaze.

"thank you for my life," i replied

cuz this card is one of the VERY FEW LUKE STORY CARDS that does not have an HINT of sadness or angst. NOT A DROP!!! no sudden pain episode, no vague reference to "im dying soon and i hate myself for that", NADA!! im not saying that i dont like angst (if that was true, i'd have made a terrible choice having luke as my fave JHVSDFHKV) or that angst makes for a bad story. i Love Angst and it deffo can used for great storytelling.

but this card manages without it in a really fun and charming and eeEEeEEeee-butterflies-in-my-heart kind of way.

later on, i'd come to realize that my biggest criticism for some luke cards is that theres a tendency for the story to rely solely on the gut punch angst or to be oversaturated in it to the point it's hard to really enjoy what's actually going on. while the emotional ouchies are inevitable and also key to many of luke's stories, it's a disservice to him as a character to only ever be pursuing his narrative through the lens of pain. he is more than that and his stories can benefit from little less leaning on angst for emotional impact.

this card is 5th place because i think it's proof that his stories can shine real great even without any angst at all

4th place: SSR Shape Of You

if the last card made it onto this list because it was a lighthearted delight, this card is on the list because it was the first luke card to make me CRY REAL TEARS. FUCK THIS GAME. FUCK THIS CARD. FUCK MY LIIIIIFFEEEE----//sounds of my voice getting softer and softer until i calm down

anyway, this card hurt me personally. but it wasnt oversaturated in angst; it's a very lovely balance of shenanigans, mounting tension, and heartfelt emotion. overall, it's a hopeful card actually. but it hurt me because it was among my first (and most long lasting) peek into the core of who i see luke to be. particularly, one of his key desires and the flaw that comes with it:

hes someone so devoted to doing good for his loved ones and simultaneously so scared of hurting them that he places himself at a lower value because thats how he thinks he can be a benefit to their lives

like, ok, i amend my first sentence in this card. it's not on this list cuz it made me cry. it's on this list cuz that crying was due to me getting a deeper understanding of how luke thinks, feels, and acts.

if i had to recommend one card to somebody who knows nothing about tot or luke pearce, itd be this one. its story is a blend of the good in him and the not-so-good in him and paints a really clear picture of who luke is.

3rd place: SSR Overflowing Thoughts

hey, SSR Overflowing Thoughts, see how im hyping you up the night before u actually r gonna be available? do u see how much i love you? ur gonna repay me by coming home without causing me much pain, right? RIGHT???? //brbs to calm self once more

ANYHOO, this card. is Good. it's really frigging good. i will be scant with the plot details so people dont get spoiled, but i will tell you that this card's story is an AU completely different from the actual stories of both luke and mc.

and when i say different, i REALLY MEAN IT. luke and mc's dynamics in this card are frigging lightyears away from what we're used to and this is not to the story's detriment, it's to the story's extreme absolute strength.

basically, this story does what a great AU is best at: showing us how different circumstances, lives, and choices can magnify and emphasize the core traits of the characters that will stay present in who they are no matter what universe they're in.

luke's core is devotion. mc's core is hope. this card does a fantastic job at hammering those things home effectively in a really frigging great story.

pls come home, SSR Overflowing Thoughts. PLEASE.....

2nd place: SR Star in the Palm

let's give it up for the only SR card on this list, Star in the Palm!!! //CROWD CHEERS (i am the crowd)

THIS WAS AN UNEXPECTED FAVE. i got the card in december thru the xmas partyland boardgame like everyone else but then my brain went offline for a while and i only watched it in like, january i think. why did i wait. it's so good. IT'S MY 2ND MOST FAVE CARD STORY!!!

and it's my 2nd fave because the story is a wonderful blend of funtimes and feels, both those things working together to, again, paint a really lovely picture of who luke is.

this card in particular touches upon his fear of returning to mc's life. when i say this next bit, i say it with love: luke was a goddamn coward for a bit. he was in stellis way before he had first told mc he was, he had stalled on reuniting with her, he ran away from her. and he was scared of her knowing that, so he deflects and changes the subject and then

heres why this is 2nd place: mc is Not Fucking Having It. mc shoves chocolate into his lying liar mouth to get him to shut up. this card shows how luke is scared, yes, but it also shows how mc puts her foot down lovingly and makes it known that she'd like clearer answers. she wont force him, but thats what she wants.

and luke gives. both the answers and himself as a more honest person making more honest promises about how he'll act in the future.

it's the card that makes me rediscover (as if i ever forget, kJBSKJBDKF) why i love luke/mc so much: their relationship is ultimately about accepting fears and flaws and then---however imperfect the attempts may be---trying to be better moving forward

1st place: SSR Peaceful Place

why didnt you come home. WHY. WHY MUST U FORSAKE ME, LUKE PEARCE??????

this card is my top 1 fave for almost all the reasons ive mentioned before:

we've got well balanced story. like bruh, we get the cuteness of luke and mc ADOPTING A KID (that just so happens to be an elephant). we get 2 npc side characters, the Paige twins, who know luke from the NSB days and theyre the funniest faceless npcs ive ever seen in a card ever. we get the trope of oH NO, THERE WAS ONLY ONE BED! and then luke subsequently fuckin nerfs himself and doesnt take the oppurtunity (valid, respect women, but PLEASE DUDE, COME ON!!). we get the most heartwrenching scene on the planet when luke and mc have to say goodbye to their ELEPHANT SON. and then we fuckin get an action movie shoot out??? complete with the angst consequences?? WE GET MC KABEDON-ING LUKE!!!!!!

//wheezing. everything in this fucking card is my favorite part of this fucking card. theres fluff, theres comedy, theres excitement, theres sadness, theres a happy ending.

this card also is a great card that shows off a lovely picture of character, but here, it's not luke. like dont get me wrong, hes fantastic in this card. but everything we learn about luke here is stuff we know already. this card is good at showing off mc.

and it does this really well. it highlights what shes scared of, what she wants, and what she holds dear to her heart.

like, idk, now im going more on vibes here than anything that can be surmised from the story directly, but this card rlly feels...holistic. heres a full story jam packed with everything i love, filled to the brim with genuine character moments for luke and mc, and just such a lovely picture of their relationship:

filled with idyllic moments and dark uncertainties but at the end of the day, theyre both making their best effort to ensure each other's happiness, as their own happiness is entwined with the joy of the other.

THIS ASK IS A MISTAKE. BEWARE. FUCK. DUDE I COULD TALK ABOUT DANNY PHANTOM FOR SO LONG IM NOT EVEN KIDDING IVE GOT . NEARLY 20 YEARS WORTH OF LOVE FOR THIS SHOW. I AM 23 YESRS OLD. so. the show ended in.. 2007. and. god the last episode sucks so fucking bad. bad enough that the fandom as a whole collectively agrees it does not exist it never happened . phantom planet isnt real phantom planet cant hurt you if you dont look at it or think about it ever. i could go on a whole. rant about how much phantom planet sucks but instead ill just say butch hartman (<< creator of the show) is a fucking. annoying awful person and he was greedy + wanted more money from nickelodeon than they were willing to give him so they gave him a hard limit on episodes before the shoe would be canceled. so. season 3 goes downhill SO fast and ends with the fucking disaster that is phantom planet . and !!! you know how disappointing it is to have your facorite show have a garbage ending!! it sucks!! so then there was like. a HUGE HUGE long silence where there was. 0 canon content bc hartman considered it a flop and kind of just. abandoned it until he wanted clout (there were a few gameboy games that came out after the show ended + some nickelodeon games that included danny as a character + butch made a youtube channel where he would spout absolute death of the author garbage about the show every time he wanted attention but it was mostly dead silence) UNTIL. so. my favorite episode. is ultimate enemy. it was one of the 4 movie-length episodes and the basic premise is. danny uses his ghodt powers to cheat on a huge standardized test and this sets off a butterfly effect reaction that leads to a timeline where his family + friends get killed in an explosion and he loses his mind and turns into the worlds most powerful villain <3 you can see why i like it so much im sure (<< guy who has a documented chronic weakness for stories where a good guy turns bad etc)

SO AT THE END OF THE EPISODE. Dan (the evil future danny) is trapped and locked away forever . but at the end of the ep theres a scene that hints to a possible future episode where he escapes !!!! so there was always a teased sequel but this sequel was never created due to aforementioned. budget issues and cancellation. etc. buggest disappointment of my life. UNTIL AGIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

it was released. july of this year . and i am just reading it now bc its been burning a hole in my bedside table bc it never felt like the right time to read it until this morning for some reason. and fuck its so good its literally everything i wanted.

i dont know how involved butch hartman was in the creation of it but the author (gabriela epstein) is obviously someone who cares deeply about the show and the characters and im so fucking happy about it she did an incredible job. i literally had to pause a handful of times in the first few pages just because the characters and dialogue were written so well and it was like SUCH a breath of fresh air (the fandom is. so bad. its so bad. because its been around for so long people have such insane warped takes on a lot of the characters and its become completely unbearable to me ive had to block the tag and its so painful. this is literally the only reason i am not reblogging dp content constantly. i have to filter it through artists i know can handle the characters properly. if i was not nerfed by the awful fandom it would be 24/7/365 dp lockdown and id be so unbearable) OH ALSO not only is agit a continuation of my alltime favorite episode, it also retcons the garbage pile that is phantom planet in a way that acknowledges that it was a real thing that happened but going back on it in a way that feels so so so so natural for the show. so it wasnt a throwaway "no that was bad lets forget about it" it was a well crafted well thought out "this was real and it sucked and the characters remember it BUT we can play with timeline so things will continue as normal" and . holy shit it was so fucking good. i will begrudgingly acknowledge phantom planets existence if only for agit.

Due to religious reasons, I wear a headscarf. I love and am proud of it. In the groupchat with other bridesmaids, I was talking about how excited I am to attend a girls only event. I recently dyed my hair and wanted to show it off. I even paid extra to ask for a girls only staff that day

Day of, as guests arrive I realize that one of them is Tori(26F). I know Tori as a family friend of Jackies, but the few times I met her, it was before her transition to female. I was aware of it but unaware she was coming to the shower. I dont mind at all ofc and shes a lovely person but I decided to keep my scarf on

As everyone’s eating later, Im passing by the tables to make sure everyone’s good and one of the bridesmaids mentioned that they hadnt gotten to see my hair and theyd wanted to see the change in person. I tried to dismiss it at first or say oh I’ll show you later. But the other girls at the table got curious. I got uncomfortable and I just said “Oh I’m actually not really comfortable taking it off right now” When pressed as to why, I said theres guests I don’t feel comfortable taking it off in front of. There was a collective “ohhh” and I thought cool thats over. But one girl got aggressive and asked if Im referring to Tori. Shes loud and other tables turn to look. I dont answer. the girl asks if I wear one around men, so I say yes. She says theres no men here so “clearly you should take it off”. I tell her again that Im keeping it on

Another bridesmaid defends me and tell the girl to chill out. Tori comes over and says me not taking it off is a slap in the face to her identity. Im just shocked and had no clue what to do

Eventually Tori and a few girls left saying they felt it was disrespectful. I feel awful that this ruined a beautiful day for my friend. Its causing more trouble with people threatening to leave the wedding over discrimination towards me or towards Tori

I dont think I was in the wrong. Just as Tori can be Tori, I can be me. I feel like it would be the equivalent of me making Tori or someone else adjust for me. I feel like we should just accept and respect each other, rather than be woke onesided

My question is more about being honest as to why I couldnt. Jackie is on my side, but Jackie’s sister is giving her hell for it. Saying she purposely left out that detail in the guest list to test me. Jackie says I shouldve brushed it off and said i was having a bad hair day or avoided giving an answer

For anyone that hasn’t read Glitchflower’s Piratin’ with Gears here’s the link. It’s 300 words of pure angst and I haven’t stopped thinking about that shit since a I read it two and a half years ago😭😭😭

Little bit of a self plug for my corresponding moodboard for this AU. The moodboard is for my captain, Caroline Blake but I’m going to leave out the name and leave it gender neutral here 👀 insane ranting under the cut

OKAY SO we don’t diverge from canon until the end of Cool Ranch and then we go absolutely off the rails. Instead of making it out with the ship and their second piece of the map, Deacon manages to pull himself together, sneak up on the crew in their moment of celebration, and put the barrel of his gun against their Captain’s head. He gives them an ultimatum. Leave with their Captain or with their piece of the map. They aren’t leaving the skyway with both.

It’s an easy decision for the crew- they wouldn’t have gotten this far without their Captain. With them at the helm, they would be able to recover the map pieces and beat the Armada back into submission. Their Captain made a different call. They couldn’t let the Armada have half of the Map to El Dorado. So they gave the map piece to Bonnie Anne and let Deacon lead them back to the Erebus at gun point. The dramatic bastard even locks them up in the (now repaired) part of the brig that they were being held in at the beginning of the game.

This becomes the first time that the pirate meets Kane- they also spit on him which isn’t important to the plot but is important to me. He tells Deacon to take the pirate to Bishop. If they aren’t willing to offer up any information relevant to the Armada’s cause, he could use the pirate for his special project. If you’ve read the ficlet and you know where this is going, I am SO sorry.

Things get fuzzy for the pirate after being delivered to Bishop. Between the torture, long stretches of time between meals, and Bishop drugging them every time he takes them out of their prison cell, everything blends together. The line between dreams and reality blur. Are they really trying to escape over and over only to be captured again or just wishing it to be true? Is Bishop really making them test out his latest machine when he let them leave their room or were they making it all up? By the end of it, the pirate is following Deacon around like a loyal guard dog. They know that there’s no point in trying to run anymore. Kane is pleased with the results of Bishop’s mysterious project. 

Their crew finds them after two months, at half strength and still searching for their lost Captain. They’re heard about the Armada testing a new weapon and went to see what it was. They weren’t expecting it to be their captain.

But their captain wasn’t the same. They didn’t respond to their own name- only to orders given to them by Deacon when he called them Galatea. Their entire right arm had been replaced with the most intricate piece of clockwork they had ever seen. And boy could the thing do damage. It hit harder than a brick and came equipped with a canon and a concealed blade. They almost took out Ratbeard’s good eye in the ensuing fight. By some miracle- or maybe some cruel twist of fate- the crew is able to knock them out and drag them back to the ship before they’re able to kill anybody.

When the Captain wakes up, they’re back to their normal selves, but it’s very obvious that things are never going to be the same. The Armada had been controlling them like a puppet. A good knock to the head wasn’t going to fix them forever. They couldn’t even remove the clockwork arm- Nurse Quinn wouldn't even know where to start on it. It was the most advanced prosthetic she had ever seen. Ratbeard didn’t hobble around on that peg leg because he thought it matched his outfit.

The Captain disbands the crew out of fear. They don’t want to hurt their friends- their family- because they were being forced to live at the Armada’s beck and call. They go into hiding on a farm in Cool Ranch with Old Scratch as their only companion- the old skeleton to loyal to leave them all alone in the desert. They find peace out there. They find time to heal. And then they find Bonnie Anne and Subodai in their living room one day. They’ve found a new lead on the map, a duck in Mooshu that was in the picture of Pollo’s crew. They want to get the band back together. Finish what they started. 

The pirate doesn’t want to go. They only agree after Subodai promises them something unthinkable. If the Armada turns them against the crew again, they want Subodai to kill them. They’ve known each other the longest and saved each other’s necks more times than the pirate can even count. He’s the only one that they trust to really go through with it in the end.

And in the end, he has to.

Soft puffs of warm air blew onto his chest, it blew the fine hairs that grew there against their follicles. It was an annoying, tickling sensation that made it feel like there was a bug crawling on him. He didn’t move, though, or adjust the sleeping hunter in his arms. It served as a grounding sensation, a reminder that the warm body lying next to him was just that; warm, breathing, alive.

“I c’n feel you look’n at me weird.” Dean’s sleepy voice cut through the gentle silence that hung around them. One sleepy green eye cracked open and he shifted, wrapping his arms around Castiel’s bare torso tighter and burying his nose into his sternum.

“I was admiring you,” Castiel protested indignantly and smiled at the muffled embarrassed noise Dean made against him.

“Less admiring, more sleeping.” He grumbled, and pressed a placating kiss to Cas’s throat. Castiel let out a contented hum and let his fingers glide up Dean’s muscled back, feather-light, and up to the nape of his neck.

“Quit it.” Dean shuddered and fell back onto the mattress with a bleary-eyed glare. Castiel shifted onto his side and smoothed his thumb over the crease in Dean’s forehead that resulted from his affronted expression. Dean didn’t comply with his silent request, and it was Cas’s turn to frown. He leaned down and pressed a tiny chaste kiss to the wrinkle, Dean just shied away and huffed.

“Dean,” Castiel squinted at the stubborn man beside him, who stuck his tongue out and made a point to draw his eyebrows even further - the crease became more prominent. Cas could almost laugh, but this was a challenge. A challenge he didn’t intend to back down from.

“Cas,” He mocked, pulling a face.

Oh, so that’s how it was.

Gears in Castiel’s head were turning, but before they could even quite slot into place, he was on top of Dean, pinning him to the mattress with his weight. Dean’s eyes widened, no longer half-shut with the remnants of sleep, and he sucked in a breath. Pupils blown wide, and Castiel grinned. Dean had a very wrong idea of what was about to happen.

“Dean, you’re very stubborn.”

Dean smirked and waggled his eyebrows, before quickly returning to his previous expression, complete with his arms crossed across his chest.

“Yeah? What are you gonna do about it?”

Castiel hummed as if he were deep in thought, tracing his index finger from Dean’s collarbone to his sternum. Dean cringed and pushed himself back into the mattress.

“Me? Well, I’m going to knock you down a peg or two, in a manner of speaking.” Castiel purred, resting all ten of his fingertips on his ribs, a salacious grin on his face.

“You, on the other hand,” He continued, gliding his hands down to rest at Dean’s sides. “You’re going to smile for me.”

Dean barely had time to swallow nervously before his senses were set alight by tingling, buzzing electricity. He bit his lip and squirmed, grappling with Castiel’s flitting hands.

“C-Cas, c-c’moHAH. Nonono, c’mohon man, this shit’s for kIDS.” His voice raised an octave when the ex-angel who was enjoying this way too much dug his infuriatingly skilled fingers into his tummy.

It took less than three minutes for Dean to be lost to laughter, punctured by the occasional ‘No!’ or ‘Cas!’ and things that were definitely not shrieks when his attacker got to a bad spot.

Cas, the bastard, was watching him with a big stupid smile on his face. It was so wide and genuine Dean couldn’t even find it in himself to be mad when he caught glimpses of his face amidst his thrashing.

“Cas! Cas, it’s like 4 am, stoho- nahaha CAHAHAS NOT THERE, YOUSONUVABIHIHITCH.” Dean cackled and threw his head back with laughter as Castiel’s hands shot into his armpits, he convulsed and clamped his arms down as hard as he could. Nothing could deter Cas’s determined digits.

When Dean’s breathing started sounding labored, Castiel retreated his hands and took to scritching at Dean’s lower belly. Tickling there, just above his waist-band, was the closest thing to giggling he thought Dean Winchester was capable of. His other hand, bored and itching to roam the squirming body beneath him, cupped Dean’s other side and stroked the skin there. There was another layer of squirming away added to Dean’s half-hearted struggle.

“Caaaas, quihihit playing with my chubby spots.” He whined through bubbling laughter. It was innocent enough, but Castiel knew this man well enough to tell the difference between a joke and genuine insecurity.

Castiel pursed his lips and abandoned his tickling, leaning forward to kiss the panting, red-faced mess. Dean was enthusiastic, cupping the back of Castiel’s head, meeting his kiss sloppily with an open mouth and obscene smacking sounds.

When Castiel pulled away, Dean’s hand kept him there; their faces just inches apart, noses brushing.

“You’re the single most beautiful creature in all of creation, Dean Winchester. Inside and out.” Castiel said firmly, cupping Dean’s jaw reverently and looking into his lover’s wide eyes. A faint blush dusted Dean’s cheeks and he dropped his gaze, shrugging, and grumbling. Cas used his hand to nudge Dean’s face back up and pressed kiss after kiss to Dean’s face. His forehead, each eyelid, his nose, his top, and bottom lip, and his chin.

“I’ve seen stars born,” Castiel murmured against his jaw, pressing another kiss to the stubbled skin.

“Galaxies formed,” Another kiss, this time to his neck, then his collarbone, then his sternum.

“Supernovas,” His chest, right over his heart.

“I witnessed the creation of the very first life forms,” His ribs.

“I’m older than time, older than this world, than the universe.” His diaphragm, his stomach, his hip.

“It’s you, Dean. Nothing I’ve ever seen, ever experienced, could ever hold a candle to you. I just wish you could see yourself the way I do.”

Dean sat completely still, watching Cas with twinkling eyes, he swallowed thickly and made to sit up, Cas climbed off him and Dean leaned forward, resting his head on Castiel’s shoulder.

“You mean that?” He whispered, taking Castiel’s hand and fiddling with his fingers. Castiel smiled and pressed a kiss to the crown of Dean’s head, nodding.

“Yes, Dean. I mean it.”

Castiel could hear the quiver in his breath when Dean inhaled deeply.

“That’s pretty gay, man.” He said shakily, pulling away from Castiel with a wobbly smile on his face.

“That it is. I’d venture to say what I’m about to say is gayer, though; I think your smile is especially beautiful. And your laugh.” Castiel added with a sly smile. Dean was quicker on the uptake, though, and before Cas could follow through on his plan, he found himself pinned to the mattress. Staring down a disgruntled Dean, who wasted no time in reaching behind him and kneading Castiel’s thighs.

He howled with laughter and grabbed blindly at Dean’s arms.

“DEAN! DEAN, STOHOHOP!” He bucked underneath the grinning man.

“You started it! And you were about to ambush me again.” He feigned offense, his words spoken around a laugh. His hands converged on Cas’s ribs and dug into the giggle-shriek-inducing spots between each bone.

Expertly, Dean took Castiel apart. Fingers seasoned with years of big-brother experience. His goal was to just tire Cas out to the point he wouldn’t be able to re-retaliate. Ten fingers scribbled across his belly and Cas was lost to giggles that Dean would never tire of hearing.

“Deheheannn, nahaha I’m sohOHORY!” He barely managed around an honest to god squeal that left his mouth when one of Dean’s curious fingers wiggled into his bellybutton.

“See, I just don’t think that’s true.” Dean tutted.

He could have continued on forever, sweet laughter and adorable attempts at an escape or a plea. But, now that Cas was human and oxygen was kind of a necessity, he made the mature decision (what can he say, falling in love changed him) to stop. He pulled away with a parting raspberry to the side of Cas’s neck, which made him shriek and jackknife under him.

“I didn’t bring you back from super hell just so you could tickle the shit out of me, you know,” Dean said, poking his hip. Cas flinched and rubbed a hand over his face, residual giggles still tumbling out of his mouth. He sighed and parted his fingers, peering up at Dean.

“Why did you bring me back, then?” He challenged. Dean glared down at him, but his gaze held no heat. Maybe some exasperation.

“You know why.”

Castiel pulled his hands away from his face and shrugged innocently.

“I don’t, actually.”

“I told you,” Dean huffed. Don’t ask why he was allowing himself to be swept up into Cas’s little game - maybe he liked it. Or maybe he felt guilty still.

“You told me lots of things - through wailing sobs, so it was hard to understand at times. Here; I’ll even make it easy for you. I love you…”

“I know,” Dean replied in a mocking, honeyed tone as he flopped back onto the mattress, pointedly shutting his eyes. Castiel let out a long-suffering sigh and lay back next to him, body curved around Dean’s; a perfect fit, like pieces of a puzzle slotting together. It was a shame Dean was being too much of a man-baby for Castiel to properly enjoy their compatibility and closeness at the moment.

“You’re impossible,” Cas murmured into the skin of Dean’s shoulder, reaching over to pinch at Dean’s waist. He curled away with a squeak that made Cas’s heart swell and grabbed his hands.

“No more tickling,” He pouted. The other man smiled fondly and pressed a kiss to Dean’s temple.

“No more tickling.” He agreed, nodding solemnly.

Then it was quiet again, peaceful. The soft sounds of Dean’s breaths were in sync with his own - the feeling of his heart beating was still alien to him, even though it wasn’t something he noted often.

“Hey, Cas?” Dean said quietly, fingering a mindless pattern on Castiel’s bicep, “I do. Love you, I mean.”

Castiel smiled and pressed his thumb gently into the give of Dean’s thigh, reveling in the softness, the warmth.

“I know.”

You smiled down at your phone before shutting it off. Since it was Noyas birthday, your mom let him and your friends come over, it also being a Saturday. You planned to have a sleepover with your new friends, Kageyama, and Tanaka of course. You had finished cleaning your living room, and despite it being small, it was big enough to fit a bunch of enthusiastic dorks, and Tsukishima.

You had begun cooking lunch, making sandwiches for you and Hinata, who was already on his way to your house. "Good morning honey," your mom spoke softly, rubbing her eyes as she walked past you to the coffee maker. "Good morning mom, Hinatas on his way here already," you smile and finish the sandwiches, putting them on a plate and walking to the living room.

"Okay, I have work today so ill be out for a little bit, tell Nishinoya I said happy birthday and Kageyama I said hello," she chuckled as she started the machine. You nodded and heard the doorbell ring, causing you to sit up and smile in excitement, placing the play down on the couch. "Thats Shoyo!"

You hop to the front door and immediately unlock the door, greeting the orange haired male with a smile that was matching his. "Hey y/n!" He greets and you let him in, closing the door behind himself. "Hi Shoyo, I made lunch," you say and lead him to the living room. "Wow, your house is really cute," he giggles and sets his bags and blanket in the corner next to the couch.

"Im glad you think so, I think Tanaka is arriving next, but i could be wrong," you say and plot down on the couch, hinata following your movements. "When is Kageyama coming?" He asks and rests his head on your shoulder, head tilted so he can look at you, but you just shrug. "He hasn't answered me since I sent him the invite yesterday," you say before handing him the plate and taking your sandwich.

"What? He answered me this morning," Hinata said and pulled his phone out of his pocket, going to his text messages with Kageyama. "Yeah, he texted me this morning, asked if i was coming to the sleepover," he said and you sae him typing on his screen. You felt hurt, Kageyama always answered you, whether it was one word, or even one letter, he always answered.

"Ah, he might've forgotten, i wont hold it against him," you smiled and decided to shake it off, it was Noyas birthday and you were ready to have fun. You and Hinata watched a bit of Netflix and ate a bit more than just the sandwhiches you made. It had been about more than an hour since the next person appeared, hearing the doorbell ring as you were in the middle of showing Hinata baby pictures of you and Kageyama.

"Ah, I bet its Tsukishima and Tadashi! Or just Tadashi!" Hinata shouts, jumping up, you following after him with a big goofy smile on your face as you both run to the door. "Its definitely Tanaka! Im calling it!" You laugh, barely able to keep up with the small male as he opens the door. As you looked at the male at the door, you and Hinata both shouted at the same time.

"Tadashi!"

"Tanaka!"

"K-kageyama?" You questioned and Hinata sighed, walking back to your room, sulking. "Its just Kageyama," he complaimed and Kageyama glared at him. "Whats that supposed to mean dumbass!" You let him in and close the door behind him as he kicks off his shoes. "Kags, you didnt bring any bags? Like, more than one?" You ask and walk to your room, seeing him hesitate to say respond.

"I'm not staying over. I just wanted to wish Nishinoya a happy birthday, i thought more people would be here by now," he nonchalantly responds, almost irritating you. "Well, you could've answered my text with a yes or no, or tell me that," you say and turn to face him, kicking his ankle softly. "Sorry," he muttered.

You entered your room with Kageyama and saw Hinata checking out your wall of pictures, filled with pictures of you and kageyama as children, you and your mom, and your friends from Nekoma. "Hey, is that Kenma?" He asked, turning his head to look at you and Kageyama with a curious face.

"Oh, yeah it is," you answer and walk over to the spot next to hinata. "Ah, Inuoka! Lev!" He exclaims with a excited expression, carefully scanning the pictures. "Is this the Nekoma volleyball club?" He asked, looking up at you with admiration as you confirm that it is.

"Thats so cool! You know Kuroo?!" He said, looking at another photo, one dear to your heart. It was the last time you saw them, you had a sleepover at Kuroos house, all the boys attending. You were wrapped in Kuroo and Inuokas arms, the 2nd years sitting on the couch in the back with the rest of the members asleep, or running around.

"Yeah, he acts like my brother sometimes. This was from our last sleepover before i came here," you state and he puts it back in his place when he hears the doorbell. "Okay, this time its DEFINITELY Tanaka!" You slap Hinatas arm and you two, once again, race to the front door. "Its gotta be Tadashi!" He once again opens the door to be met with Tanaka, causing you to shout in glory, hinata groaning.

"Uh, hello to you too," he laughs and steps over Hinata who dramatically fell to his knees. "Sorry, we were betting on who would arrive next," you laughed as he put his stuff next to Hinatas and saw Kageyama come out of your room. "Hey Tanaka," he greeted and you all sat on the couch, continuing the movie you and Hinata had started. After about 30 minutes more, there was a knock on the door.

"Thats definently Tsukishima," You say and Hinata nods as you stand up to open the door, greeting the tall blonde, noticing Tadashi and Noya behind him. "Hey Tsukki, Tadashi, and happy birthday Noya!" You greet, patting Tsukishimas arm and hugging the last two. "Everyones here, so lets get started, hmm?"

As everyone gets their stuff situated, you head to your room to get your phone and order some take out and remind your mom to get a cake before heading back out to your friends. "Noya, you ca– Noya?" You giggled softly, seeing him wrapped in a giant fluffy blanket, and he smiles. "Yes?"

"Ah, I was gonna say you can choose a movie, unless you wanna do anything else before the food arrives," you bounce before taking a seat between Tsukishima and Hinata. "Movie please, i dont want to even know what hes thinking right now," Tsukishima said, his expression was serious. You elbow him with a chuckle that follows, "its his birthday, cut him some slack."

You all decided to play a few games with an old movie playing as background noise. Truth or dare, would you rather, never have I ever, and some board games, Tsukishima winning monopoly. He was currently boasting to Kageyama with a smug look on his face as the doorbell rang.

"Food!" You shouted and jumped up to answer the door, quickly paying for the food and closing the door before bringing it to the small coffee table in your living room. "Also my mom should be home in a few minutes so call down with all the cursing Tanaka," you laughed and opened the food boxes before grabbing some plates and utensils for them to serve themselves.

You guys ate and finally put on a movie, moving the coffee table to you, Noya, Tanaka, Tadashi, and Hinata could all huddle up on the floor infront of the tv, leaving Tsukishima and Kageyama on the couch. "Hey, im home honey. Hi boys," your mom called, a big bag in hands as she slipped off her shoes. "Hi y/ns mom!" Noya called and she brought the cake over to you.

"Happy birthday Noya, and hello Kageyama, its been a while since ive seen you, you're so big," your mom patted his shoulder and he nodded. "Hello Mrs. y/l/n," he spoke politely as Tsukishima quietly laughed at him. "Behave okay? Im heading to bed. Oh, and Kageyama, your mother invited us over tomorrow so i can take you home tomorrow, " she flashed a warm smile and your face lit up as you sat up from the cuddle pile.

"I haven't been to your house in years," you exclaim and placed a hand on Kageyamas knee, giggling. He shifted a bit, causing your hand to fall and he hummed, "because Tokyo is far." You roll your eyes and lay down back between Nishinoya and Hinata. "And im not sleeping over, my moms coming in 10 minutes to pick me up."

"Ah, well either way, ill see you tomorrow Tobio," your mom waved and left to her room. It was silent as you guys kept your eyes glued to the screen. Eventually Kageyama left, so Tsukishima joined the cuddle pile until you guys got tired. Hinata and Tadashi took the couch, Tanaka and Nishinoya draped over each other near the couch, Tsukishima laying next to you on the blanket that covered the itchy carpet.

You sat up, on your phone after your friends from Nekoma decided to blow up your phone.

"You still awake?" You jumped at the voice, thinking everyone was asleep, and you turned to the voice to see the salty blonde slipping on his glasses. "Yeah, my friends texted me," you whispered before turning off your phone, the room being engulfed by darkness and you took your spot next to Tsukishima. "So you and Kageyama?" He propped his head up on his hand as he looked at you.

"Yeah, he's weird. He hasn't been talking to me that much the past few weeks." You rest your head on the pillow and pull the blanket up over you. Tsukishima hums lightly before fixing his pillow, "is he always like this? He doesnt seem that way around the team."

"I guess? Hes always been dry and stand offish since we were children, but to other people he was different." You felt tired, and Tsukishima could sense it. "Rest, worry your head tomorrow." He pats your head before taking his glasses back off and lays down, you smile. "Thanks Tsukki."

"Dont call me that."

Once it became morning, Tanaka and Nishinoya were the firsts to leave, followed by Tadashi. You had just come out of the shower, finding Hinata folding his blankets and cleaning up the living room, and Tsukishima talking to your mom in the kitchen as he helped wash dishes. "Good morning mom," you yawned and grabbed a key from one of the drawers. "Im gonna stop by the store, wanna come with Tsukki? Hinata?"

Tsukishima looked at your mom and she nodded, telling him it was okay and that she'd finish the dishes on her own. You left the house with the two males, taking the short walk to the store. "You're going to Kageyamas right?" Hinata asked, bouncing to keep warm in the cold air. You nod and swing the keys around your finger, "yeah, in a few hours, oh! Let me text him."

As you waited for his answer, Tsukishima spoke up. "Not to.. seem like im putting you on the spot but.. doesn't he ignore you?" He kept his hands in his pockets and his gaze forward and Hinata gasped, "Tsukki that sounds mean!" He smacked his arm, causing the taller to look down at him. "I'm just saying that its not the best way to treat someone," he rolls his eyes and Hinata scoffs. "As if you can talk."

You sigh and laugh, placing a hand on both the males arms, "calm down you two, geez." They relax in your touch and Tsukishima continues. "Seriously tho, he could be just, y'know.. being a bitch," he he spoke, putting an emphasis on bitch. "Or he could be hiding something!" Hinata gasps and you laugh at them. "Yeah yeah, but its whatever really, this is how ive always seen Tobio, it'd be weird if he was any different. Though id like it alot if he DID be a little less dry."

You remembered the talk you and Tsukishkma had before, he always brought up Kageyama and your relationship with him. Soon you started to think the same was he did. Was Kageyama really just being mean? Isnt that just how he always is? Why does he act different around others? Was it you, or was it him?

You kicked off your shoes as you stepped into the warm house with a bright smile, "hello Mrs. Kageyama!" You greeted as she pulled you into a hug. "Hello y/n, my you've grown! Tobio is in his room, can you take him his plate? This one is your" She said and handed you two plates. You smiled and nodded your head like a gibby child and she patted your back as you made youe way to Kageyamas room. You kicked on the door because your arms were occupied.

You heard a bed creak and a few seconds after, the door opened and was almost closed back in your face if it weren't for him catching a glimpse at the plates. "Come in," he mumbled and let you in. You walked over to his bed and put his plate down on his bed and sat on the end as he closed the door. "Wow, your room has changed alot," you smile and look around the room at his posters and pictures on the walls.

"Mhm," he plopped back down on his bed and went on his phone. You noticed this and furrowed your brows, taking a bite of your food. "You know, for someone on their phone alot, you sure do ignore my texts alot," you mainly joked, but you guessed that he didnt catch on when his expression changed and he mumbled an apology. Was that guilt on his face?

You decided to stay silent and just scroll through social media and eat your food. After a few minutes of just silence, Kageyama finished his plate and got up to take it upstairs. "Hey Kags," you called before he left and you held your plate out to him, "can you take this for me?"

"You barely ate any thing," he said and you shook the plate a little bit, causing him to grab it, scared it would fall. "I'll bring you a meatbun," he murmured and left the room. You smiled slightly at the mention of meatbuns, and stood up to stretch your legs.

You grabbed a napkin from Kageyamas bedside dresser and wiped any food off of your mouth. He had a small trash bin in the corner of his room, so you went to throw away your napkin, looking at his posters and pictures on the wall. When you opened the bin, there was a large stack of pictures atop all of the trash.

All being pictures that had you and him in them.

14. If you were stuck on a desert island with only two characters, which would you pick?

ive never written him, probably never will, but absolutely saiki kusuo. 

if its a character that i have written, probably aizawa. he seems reliable. im sure he’ll figure it out. or we’d die together which is also cool.

15. A Hollywood producer tells you that they want to film just one of your fics. Which fic would you want it to be?

my fics are all too shitty to be made into films but hollywood movies are mostly shitty anyway. so, demonology. would love to see demonology matrix style.

18. What is a line/scene you’re really proud of? Give us the DVD commentary for that scene.

i love chapter 6 of misdirection. the whole card scene. it was hell to write, but the pay off was amazing.

i remember i held off that chapter for like a month or so bc i was stuck lol. nusm-deku isnt a fighting guy.. he wouldn’t physically fight his enemies; thats his whole thing. and aizawa, though not infallible, wouldnt physically fight deku either. for one thing, hes against a kid, and secondly, he probably wouldnt lose. hes a seasoned pro hero, it just doesnt make sense if he loses (i dont want to nuke a character’s strength for the sake of making another character look cool). and if nusm-deku does pull out some trick that actually manages to beat aizawa in a fight, that wouldnt lead aizawa to be inclined in working with deku either--aizawa isnt that kind of guy.

so how was i gonna have them face off against each other with cooperation as the endgame? this was like the biggest issue with this fic when i started writing it, how to write their confrontation. but then it clicked.. mind game + bargaining would be the answer. both of them have a bargaining chip that the other wants. ta-dah. 

i always knew there was going to be a card game, so i decided ok, this is it, lets put it here. blackjack is simple enough. now another issue is that... who’d win? (yes i didnt plan this out. i dont plan anything when i write) if deku wins, again, it feels like im lowballing aizawa’s character... “losing” wouldn’t be a motivation for someone with aizawa’s principle; i feel like if he loses, he would find another way, he just won’t give in. but if aizawa wins, then what’s the point of the fic, right? this au deku isn’t someone who gives in either, he would definitely find another way too. in a sense both of their characters are a bit too similar to each other, in their principles--its a struggle for control between the two. so how was this story going to achieve a satisfying conclusion that a) makes sense, b) cool as fuck, c) respect both of their characters?

it takes a while to figure out that i have to somehow make the both of them lose and win at the same time. that kind of bittersweet, imperfect achievement just works and it just.. makes their whole dynamic. it works perfectly. and then the last chapter manages to become full circle to the first chapter. 

its one of the most satisfying conclusions ive ever done personally. love that chapter.

27. If you were ever to do a sequel to [x fic], what do you think might happen in it?

i think the only “discontinued” bnha fic rn is homecoming king. 

im really curious whats gonna happen in homecoming tbh. my first idea about it was actually what if nomu deku is enrolled in 1-A lol? that would be super interesting. makes no sense (danger to the rest of the kids etc), but that’s fanfiction for you. i would like to see that happen.  

but the most logical turn of events, i think, is that the commission is absolutely going to attempt to control nomu deku and use him as a weapon slash guinea pig for their own use. aizawa, on the other hand, would feel some kind of weird obligation to deku and try his best to get the kid some sort of semblance of a normal life--to no avail, ofc. and this is where bkg comes to picture.. i think it would be interesting if this deku gets attached to bkg bc bkg is the only recollection he has of his “previous” life. thus, bkg will be used by the commission to “control” this nomu deku. like they would let deku to meet bkg as a reward. and bkg? bkg, seeing his childhood friend slash ex-bullying victim become an inhumane creature slash hero commission’s attack dog? oh.. bkg’s gonna have his own mental health shot to hell.

this, i think, is the plot that makes most sense. a bit fucked up huh? now i wanna write it.

OKAY IVE ACTUALLY PLAYED TWO SESSIONS SINCE MY LAST POST SO IM GONNA COMBINE THEM HERE SORRY FOR THE LENGTH BUT,,IVE COME SO FAR I DONT WANNA STOP NOW

anyway. i continued playing omori and boy do i have some Thoughts

so first session; i went through the pyre(something i forgot the full name sob) forest/sprout mole village/sweetheart’s castle in one go and let me TELL YOU. DOING THAT WAS FUCKING INSANE I WENT NUTS holy shit.

so anyway.

pyre forest!!!! the lil race against the big spider coming after u for disturbing the smaller spiders mechanic was very fun i had a lot of fun figuring out the best routes to take. i know normally mechanics like that lead to ppl getting frustrated cause u have to keep retrying but i had a lot of fun!!!! sum annoyance but good natured type, th kind that just makes u try harder u know? i just enjoyed it JKFN;FN; candles in the foggy forest....now That is an aesthetic

the rare bear scared the fuckin shit out of me i remember it didn’t attack me straight away so i was like “aw (:” but then when i press x on him it takes me to a BATTLE SCREEN AND SUDDEN THAT MF IS TERRIFYING I WAS LIKE WHWHWHWHWKJDNJ. very funny i honestly wished i recorded my reaction

also omori is afraid of drowning...................................i am breathing heavily. i think whatever happened to mari is related to at least one of the things omori is scared of. so either heights, spiders, or drowning it seems. spiders doesnt seem super likely as a contributor to her death, and while falling from a height is more realistic, such a senseless way of dying doesnt seem to rlly fit ? with the vibe i get from the kiddos in the real world. which makes me think maybe drowning/otherwise suffocating is how she died...but we’ll see. also due to the forgotten library part, we know omori explicitly feared spiders/drowning before mari died so it’s also probable im jus talking out my ass here but still,,,,thoughts

i know it only spread that gas to make the kiddos happy cause being happy reduces attack i think ? it decreases attack/defense but seeing the kiddos smile so much was nice (:

Nothing gets Kenma's attention. He either gives the idea a single nod, showing the least interest or too busy on his video games to give a second thought about it.

So when he sees a strange looking child inside the room Nekoma stayed in during the Tokyo training camp, he was intrigued. Only a little though. Dinner was over and some were taking a bath whilst others, like Kuroo, were still practicing. Still he does nothing about the child. She might be a relative of someone in the team and she was asked to stay here.

Kenma moves closer to his bag, avoiding the little girl's eyes. He sat down and tried to play some video games, not giving the little girl behind him another glance. Yet, much like Kenma, the little girl was intrigued about the game he was playing. She moved closer to him, her chest just a few inches away from Kenma's back.

“What are you playing, Dad?,” She asked, her voice above a whisper. Kenma swore he never moved so fast in his life. He looked at the girl behind her. Did this girl really call Kenma her dad? He could not have possibly knocked someone up.

How could that even happen? That's not possible, right? Maybe this girl is just joking around, so Kenma tried to play it off.

Kenma laughed. “Do you call everyone that?”

“No. Only you. Well, sometimes I call Papa that but that was before.”

Dad? Papa? What was this girl talking about? Kenma was about to ask the little girl another question when Yaku entered the room, followed by a whining Lev. The little girl turned around and gasped, obviously delighted to see the two.

“Yaku-san, can't you just give me a break?”

“What do you mean a break? You don't deserve a break. You know what you deserve? A kick in the ba-

“Uncle Lev!” The little girl ran towards Lev with open arms. Naturally, Lev would smile and accept the girl's embrace as she is the cutest little girl he has ever seen. In this case however, he was being yelled at by a 165cm libero in front of him.

“Didn't know you had a younger sibling, Kenma,” Yaku says as he looks at the girl, noticing the exact same cat keychain of Kenma on the little girl's wrist as a bracelet. How cute.

“They're not.”

“He's my dad. I'm Hoshiko! I'm from the future and was just playing around the house like I always do, but I got so curious, dad! And so I accidentally got into one of your time travelling pods. Sorry,” the little girl faced Kenma as she apologized. He didn't know what to react, and so did the other two young adults in the room with him.

“You're from the future?! What?! That's so cool! What's it like by then? Am I married to the love of my life? Who is it? Oh my God, I have so many questions!”

Lev bombarded the girl with such questions whilst poor Kenma and Yaku are sitting still as a statue in their place as they were minutes ago.

“Wait, how do we know that you really are from the future?” Yaku asked, hesitant to believe someone like Kenma could have a daughter. No offense, he adores the guy. He really does, but just the thought of it seemed irrational at the time.

“I can't really say, uncle Yaku. Time traveling can be quite the pickle if you know too much,” Hoshiko replied, looking down at her feet. “But I can probably show you proof that something will happen! So I guess it's okay.”

“Oi, Yamamoto. When will you ever shut up about not having a manager?” Hashiko was startled for the sudden outburst and quite disappointed that she couldn't share it to Kenma, but came to relax when she saw him.

“Papa!”

Yamamoto freaked when a child suddenly called out papa, but instantly relaxed when she came for Kuroo, letting out a breath of relief. All of a sudden, he screams out of nowhere.

“KUROO, YOU KNOCKED SOMEONE UP?”

“Oi. Shut up.” Kuroo calmly spit back, covering the poor girl's ears for hearing such a language at a young age. Deep inside, he's sweating all nervously. He couldn't have possibly knocked someone up, right? How could he when his heart already belonged to someone else.

He looked down at the little girl hugging his torso. Kuroo sweats ever more when he kneels in front of her to look at her eyes. Then her cheeks. She reminded him of a pudding.

She looked a lot like Kenma.

“She says she's from the future. She also says you're her parents.”

“Parents?”

“You and Kenma.”

“Mhm. Hoshiko picked this date cause you used to tell me how you confessed to dad. That was tonight. In this very room.”

Tension in the room could not be any more thicker than this. Hoshiko was her name? Named after a star. Kuroo looked at her, she seemed to be holding something. He smiled at her, gently taking the object and looked at what it was. It was a locket. He opened it to reveal a picture of him and Kenma.

“It was your wedding day.”

Kuroo couldn't breathe. The room was suffocating him. He had enough trouble gathering up the courage to finally confess to Kenma tonight, but what's happening before him was too much to handle. His chest started to tighten, he couldn't speak. Kuroo got up hastily, leaving the room.

“Oi, Kuroo!”

“Papa!” Hashiko started to run after him, but failed as she got down. She couldn't get up. She wanted to chase after her papa. Hashiko began to cry as her legs were fading?

“Hashiko, what's wrong?”

“I said too much. Now everything's ruined.” When Hashiko told Kuroo about the wedding between him and Kenma, it set off something inside him. Something he never felt in a long time.

Kuroo was supposed to confess to Kenma tonight. Now, Kuroo can't handle the thought of Kenma knowing before he even had the chance to say it first. And because of that, there might not even be a wedding between Kuroo and Kenma. Then Hashiko wouldn't even exist as their child.

And Kenma knew that.

Kenma has played a lot of video games to know enough about time traveling. The instant Hashiko made contact with one of her dads, something will obviously change. Their very future will change. It will be different. Kenma and Kuroo might not get together in the end. Hashiko wouldn't even exist.

Hashiko sobbed. “I'm sorry, dad,” she looked at Kenma with tears falling down her cheeks.

Kenma knew what he had to do.

He moved closer to her little girl and hugged her for the first time since their encounter. It was an action Kenma definitely wasn't used to, but it was an instinctive thing to do in the situation.

He pulled away and kissed her forehead, "Wait here with Lev and Yaku."

Kenma got out of the room, looking for a certain rooster head captain. He had run out minutes ago so he wouldn't have gone far. Kenma looked left and right, just to find out he was sitting on the stairs.

When Kuroo felt his friend's presence, he didn't dare to look. He buried his face in between his knees and let out a frustrated grunt. He can't believe he was outed by a child. Their child. In any other situation, Kuroo would have laughed it off. Or simply just accept it and confess right then and there. He wasn't known to back out in any situation. That's why he was the captain of the school's volleyball team.

Then why did he act this way?

“Was it true? What Hashiko said, that you were going to confess?”

Kuroo couldn't face him. He can, but he'd rather not. Kuroo isn't himself right now. Kuroo's in love, after all.

All he could do was nod his head as a response. He could feel his cheeks burning. Who would have thought that Kuroo would ever be embarrassed about something.

“Why?”

Kuroo couldn't help but look up at the guy in disbelief. Did this guy really asked him why he caught feelings? Did this guy he loved for so many years and have shown it through so many actions just asked why he did so?

“Are you fucking kidding me? Kenma, even I don't know why! Ever since day 1, we've always been together. You're always there by my side, through and through. And I was always by your side. Isn't that enough?”

Kenma sat beside him in silence. He looked at Kuroo, realizing that he was right. They were present all throughout the journey. Their journey.

“Every volleyball tournament, you were cheering me on. Every game you bought, I was beside you buying the damn thing. Every single fucking day, we were both together. And because of that, I can't live without you. But now that I know you don't feel the same, I guess I just have to accept it.”

It was just a millisecond and a small touch of their lips yet Kuroo felt everything in his life gained more color.

Kenma pulled away, his lips still lingering on Kuroo's lips, “I like you too.”

Kuroo and Kenma continued to talk, especially about their relationship. Throughout the night, the stars shined the brightest. As they gazed upon them, it reminded them of Hashiko. And thanked the Heavens for she was there during their day one of being a couple and she will certainly be there for their last.

We put a bunch of cc ideas (hair and clothes) in a discord server we have together and then work on the stuff together on call usually so each item is the way we both want me. Like for example i’ll be meshing the Ivy top while he works on texturing the ribbed version.  We also only do collabs when they happen, we didn’t plan AxA 2019 or this new set, mainly just made cc starting in May and wrapped it up in July to release in August. Then this time we started making stuff late December and got most of it done by the time I got done with my break. Having a planned collab/deadline makes stuff less stressful and the stuff usually turns out better imo

I absolutely hate scorbunny’s evolution (and most of the SWSH starters final evolution) so I think that made incineroar slightly better in my eyes. this is a late as hell reply i’m sorry. I think that you have texture where the glasses texture would be. Hair texture should only be in hair section or hat section (if you don’t want it hat compatible). Here is a UV map layout that I use for making hair textures. It shouldnt have anything to do with weights

I do use reshade when I take cc previews. It adds a bit of saturation to my sims and gives them some shadows under their chin/clothes. Nothing major. Also, myself and @imvikai came up with the tropical punch palette together.

TO BE FAIR, at least at first, the most experience Atsushi would have with flirting would probably come from books, so like? shibusawa being greed and gluttony work ! and so does chuuya’s. fukuzawa and mori should definitely be bedruging allies, i think why mori takes the more “bad” side to deal with ability users is because he was pretty harshly treated by his own parents and he believes that kept him in line (kinda like how some people who got abused by their parents say it was for their own good cause it made them into a respectful person while others will be like No What The Fuck)

i read a fanfic once that said something among the lines of atsushi not believing the romantic stuff happening in the books he reads would ever happen to him, which is why hes oblivious and that is sO SAD but dazai is Determined to somehow get his message across until kunikida flips and asks atsushi out FOR dazai.

AND YES IVE HEARD OF DANGANROPA I WATCHED THE ANIME FUCK YEAH I LOVED THAT and hmmm i think the only one who wOULD survive is dazai cause i dont think he has a problem to immediately switch to living selfishly, But, since he would survive in a world like that, i definitely think then that atsushi would survive cause he would constantly follow dazai around and listen to his every word, chuuya is too bitter to let himself die before dazai, akutagawa doesnt wanna die because he doesnt wanna be seen as weak and wants to impress dazai at some degree ( A N D is too bitter to die before atsushi), kyouka would follow after atsushi and somehow live because atsushi would protect her 

but yeah dazai is the only one who can adapt to the horrible corrupt society and play their cards meanwhile atsushi is the one whos more openly defiant cause of his good moral code (but dazai has to teach him to Keep It Down)

A big one, just a bunch of thoughts as I’m reading it, of course, lots of spoilers for the first book in the Warrior Cats series A Vision of Shadows. This will be covering just the first book tho, it’s all in the Read More, let’s gooooooo!!!!

I love reading from Jayfeather's point of view, his grumpiness hasn't grown on me ever but thats just me, I still enjoy it lots he's great and its fun

Firestar and Leopardstar's characterizations are On Point i love it

Alderpaw baby noooo hhhh their mentor at least is trying to show its okay, he seems very emotionally distant so far and alderheart feels very emotionally needy, actually both of them do, did I mention I love Sparkpaw??? I might be imprinting myself 2 much on her

I love how like, its clear both of them are absolutely anxious and worried about others opinions on them, which is clearly something they got from being Firestar's grandkids, deputy kids and leader kids. And bramblestar too, I recall him being quite the anxious lad ahhah. Sparkpaw will be showing confidence and being loud but the second anyone isn't approving of her or she does something "wrong" she gets small and quiet, and she ended up setting a high bar for herself by being good at hunting and fighting so I'm curious to see how that will go. Also there's nothing wrong with being guided through a crowded place to meet others Sparkpaw!!! I bet the two of them would be stuck without not knowing how to talk to others had Needlepaw not shown up. I love them, my gf is mocking me saying I'm a Sparkpaw kinnie.

Apprentices will like learn about a thing and tell everyone about it all the time and assume its always true in every situation and thats valid I love kids like that. Also in my head Needlepaw kinda looks like a porcupine. Oh boo she's fatphobic >:(

I love apprentices they are so fun and silly, just making fun of the leaders like its nothing. The way they are clearly learning and absorving everything their warriors say and do like sponges its just ***chefs kiss***

Ahhh this is so good, I am so thirsty for family moments like this, just Alderpaw bonding with grandma, I’ll definitely want to draw this one it’s so sweet.

I really am enjoying like, Alderpaw’s struggles to seeing how he fits in the clan, how he fits in himself, how he wants to be seen and what he wants to be, it’s really good. I Am Engaged(tm) With This Plot.

I didnt read Firestar's Quest or whatever why does Skyclan need to be secret??? Seems quite silly really!

Overall! Frigging loved it this book was GOOD and a great start for the series I am very excited to read the rest, SO WORRIED ABOUT SKYCLAN THO AAAA the characterizations were great the characters were great the pacing was fun and I didn't get bored once!

I think o only wish I had read this sooner really so I could look up others thoughts without getting heavily spoiled about the last books, I can watch a few videos already though thats a start ahhaha. But yeah it was great and it felt very good to read, haven't swallowed up a book so quickly in a very long time!!! Very happy I finally got my hands on this 💕💖💕💖💕💖 cant wait 2 start the next one
