Happy Birthday Newt!
@dont-offend-the-bees A combination of you telling me that anything cute and Valicey would do as a birthday fic and me knowing that you are still into Saw as a fandom led to this -- Victor and Alice reacting to the first Saw movie, inspired by a couple of posts I saw on your blog before you moved all the Sawposting to The Secret Saw Sideblog! Though the fic is technically Valicer out of necessity, because the only way I could think of to get the pair to watch it was to have it be a Halloween Movie Nights pick by Smiler's friend Thirteen, as per this headcanon post...

“That is unfair!”
“What’s unfair?” Thirteen asked, looking over at Alice.
“The ending!” Alice said, waving at the slowly-rolling credits on the screen before them. “All Jigsaw said to Adam was that he had to survive until six o’clock, correct? Nothing else? No other secret catches?”
“Don’t ask me,” Victor muttered, hands over his face. “I am actively trying to erase this movie from my mind.”
“There there,” Smiler said, rubbing his back comfortingly. “You’ll be fine – and yeah, ‘survive until six’ was the gist of it,” they added to Alice.
“Well, six o’clock rolled around, and Adam was still alive!” Alice pointed out, stabbing another finger at the TV. “He was wounded, sure, but he was still very much fucking alive! Which means he succeeded! Lawrence was the one who failed in his goal! And yet Lawrence’s the one who gets to crawl off and seek help while Adam gets electrocuted and sentenced to – I guess starving to death in that horrible bathroom? All because he, unsurprisingly, didn’t notice a damn key in his bathtub when he first woke up?”
“You are assuming a lot in thinking Lawrence survived after–” Victor swallowed and shuddered. “After c-cutting off his own f-f-foot.”
“Actually, uh, it’s canon Lawrence survives,” Oblivion put in, sporting a slightly sheepish grin. “He shows up again in Saw 3D.”
“Oh great – when do we watch that one?”
“Don’t worry, we don’t have time for tonight,” Thirteen informed him with a cheeky smirk.
“What, because it’s long?”
“No, because it’s film number seven.”
That finally got Victor to look up. “It’s – wait, what?”
“Yeah, for some reason they decided to name it after the 3D gimmick instead of following the numbering system,” Rita explained, leaning around her girlfriend. “And then films eight and nine are Jigsaw and Spiral respectively, though Spiral’s actually more like a spin-off of the main series–”
“Can I please fully express my annoyance over the fact that Jigsaw killed Adam despite him winning his ‘game’ before we start talking about how this series screwed up its numbering system over halfway through?” Alice cut in, folding her arms and scowling.
“Well, the thing you have to understand about Jigsaw is – he’s a total asshole,” Thirteen reminded her. “He says that his games are to help ‘rehabilitate’ people and make them appreciate life and all that bullshit, sure, but honestly, I believe the dude just wants to torture as many people as he can, both before and after he bites it.”
“I can believe that,” Victor muttered, shivering. Smiler put a comforting arm around him. “And this is probably the least bloody of all the movies, isn’t it?”
“I haven’t seen them all, but I’m pretty sure it is, yes,” Galactica confirmed, giving him a sympathetic look from the other side of Oblivion. “You know, you could have left if you weren’t enjoying it – we wouldn’t have thought any less of you for it.”
“Yeah, I’m shocked you actually sat through the whole thing,” Smiler admitted, giving him a little squeeze.
“I am too, honestly,” Alice said, wrapping her arm around him to do the same. “I’m used to horrors like these – hell, the bathroom looked kind of like one I saw in Rutledge – but I know it’s not your cup of tea.”
“I thought it would be too rude to just get up and leave,” Victor groaned, putting his face in his hands again. “And I kept telling myself, ‘it’s the very first one, it can’t be that bad...’”
“We won’t make you watch any of the others,” Thirteen promised, patting his knee. “I mean, I appreciate you making the effort, but despite appearances, I don’t want you to have nightmares.”
“Thanks.” Victor shook his head. “I know you love that sort of thing, but – it’s just not for me.”
“Me either – especially if John Kramer can’t practice what he preaches,” Alice agreed, glaring at the screen as the DVD menu came up again.
“It’s actually not my favorite series either, if I’m honest,” Thirteen confessed. “I just like this one because of all the hot gay tension between Lawrence and Adam.”
“...there was a surprising amount of that,” Victor allowed.
“Mmm – though given Lawrence is married, he’d better start talking to his wife about either opening the relationship or getting a divorce before he hobbles his way back to that bathroom,” Alice declared.
“You know, I bet there’s a fic like that somewhere on AO3,” Smiler said, pulling out their phone. “Who wants to find a nice domestic AU to help us all decompress?”

The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan, Episode 16
Final episode. It's now or never, Yuki. If you don't pull that trigger this time then you'll never have another--
Well, actually, I think I heard the manga goes farther than the anime does? So. Maybe not. But I want my catharsis after all the time and feels I've invested in her emotional journey!
My dude, it is 2015. You need to sit down with Itsuki for a coffee and ask him about climate change.
Oh this ship is fucked. I don't know how you come back from jerking your hand away from her touch like she's infected with plague.
Pretty sure you're at "Fake my death and move to the next town over" territory at this point.
Like. I get where he's coming from. Factory Settings confessed her love to him and then immediately dropped dead. Anyone would be freaked out over that.
I'm just saying, poor Yuki. She does not know the context of this moment. Minus that, I would be super offended.
Look at her trying not to cry while she apologizes for holding hands with the boy she likes, like it was a grievous personal transgression. The boy who, I should note, grabbed her hand in the first place rather than the other way around.
Yuki. Sweetheart. I'm so sorry this is your life right now.
I can't even be like, "Tell him, Yuki," because boy is grieving so that would not help. Things just suck for everyone in this moment.
Oh my god.
We are actually doing a ninth episode of Eternal Eight.
I mean. In a sense, we've been doing a ninth episode of Eternal Eight since the previous episode. Still.
The audacity. I'm not even mad. I've been complaining about recycling material for the last two episodes but part of me admires the brazenness in going full stop, "Fuck all-a y'all, IT'S ETERNAL EIGHT AGAIN ASSHOLES." XD
Like. There is a logic to ending the series by revisiting the arc that caused Yuki to malfunction and eat Haruhi in the first place. I just. the context of it being this arc specifically.
They had seven years to make new Haruhi material. Seven years to think about the reception to the existing material, and make decisions for what they'd want to do in the new spinoff show. And somebody actually had the nerve to go, "You know what the fans really want? More Eternal Eight."
That is such a Fuck You move that I'm kinda here for it.
Mikuru and Tsuruya aren't here because the timey-wimey shenanigans put Ryoko here instead. That means we're probably not going goldfish scooping.
I do believe I said earlier that I hope everyone died in any cycle where we deprived Mikuru of the one thing she wanted. Sorry, gang, but you're all going under the nearest bus.
Look on the bright side. It might bring Factory Settings back.

Itsuki's branching out into subtle metaphor. Kyon never retains anything Itsuki tells him directly so maybe giving him a puzzle to solve will make him internalize the knowledge better.
Or it will fly over his head. One of the two.
Will Yuki remember to buy a mask? And will they go goldfish scooping so they don't all have to die in a wildfire moments after the credits roll? These are the important questions of Festival Trip 9.
OH MY HARUHI she got distracted by a live performance of Will It Blend. FELT THOUGH. Holy shit, I miss those shameless commercials barely masquerading as an entertainment web show.
You know what? I can accept this. As long as she's having the time of her life, I can forgive a lack of goldfish scooping.
Get fucked, Tsuruya. It is Blender Time.
This is officially one of the best scenes in the franchise. Up there with the time she punched Kyon in the face. Mikuru is getting to enjoy life with no strings attached and got to violently assault one of her abusers. Just like punching Kyon, I could watch her backhand Tsuruya on loop for hours.
Now we just need a scene of her pushing Haruhi in front of a bus and she'll have a hat trick of retaliations.
Also, I still demand they animate the scene of her hurling Kyon down a flight of stairs. I need it.
Okay so we're still going goldfish scooping, we're just doing it without Mikuru.
Not sure if that makes me vindictive again or not. Because on the one hand, this was Mikuru's activity. We were only doing it because she wanted it.
But she's having a really good time watching Will It Blend. If anyone went over to fetch her for scooping, they'd go in the blender.

And also buy her a mask while you're at it. Failing to acquire a mask for Yuki may or may not also be a death-by-wildfire offense.
Legit thought she was going to be like, "If Yuki and Kyon are officially a thing now then that means you're up for grabs, right? 'Cause I call dibs."
But no. She is going to sort out her feelings with physical violence against inanimate objects.
This is way more believable than her OOC talk with Kyon earlier.
Also, by helping Ryoko sort her feelings with physical violence, Haruhi is nonetheless kinda calling dibs.
(In seriousness, I stand by what I said before regarding how, it may not seem like it, but the fracturing of their emotional codependency doesn't have to mean the end of Ryoko's relationship with Yuki. In time, it may even be stronger than ever for it.
Haruhi's definitely fucked, though. But. Y'know. Fuck her. She is my character and I say this with love but... get fucked, Haruhi. She will be better off in the long run for having learned to process disappointment, as opposed to the spoiled and entitled goddess who drugged Mikuru. This is the kind of thing she desperately needs in the original series.)
Now, all Kyon has to do is be open and honest with his feelings. Specifically, the feelings that I have decided on his behalf that he has, because he's never actually expressed romantic interest towards this version of Yuki but I NEED HIM TO IF THE SHIP IS GOING TO BE FULFILLED.
Which is how Melancholy handles him too. So it's fair.
Aww, Factory Settings came back for this. ^_^ Squee!
So. Confusing. For Escapist Yuki who's passively receiving a love confession meant for a different version of her, though. I feel like she just became a replacement goldfish for herself. So many complicated feelings about this.
Oh. Never mind. I guess Yuki lost the Yuki -> Kyon -> Factory Settings love triangle. Sorry, gurl. But at least you still have Spacetime.
Just. Not right now because you will go in that blender.

In seriousness, it makes sense that they don't clinch the romance here. Like I said earlier, Kyon is grieving. This episode is his opportunity to finally sort out his feelings towards Factory Settings, which he needs to do before he'll be emotionally available for anyone.
This is about Kyon getting closure. I'm sure there's probably much more manga to come before Yuki finally gets what she wants, if she ever does - I keep thinking back to the way her wishes are never, "I want to be with Kyon" but rather "I want to stay friends with everyone."
Still. I want nice things for her, dammit!
Being adopted as Haruhi's mom is agony. Ryoko will be thrilled to know she remains employed at the Nagato residence.
She got something better than a goldfish this time around. She is armed and dangerous. Nobody will ever mess with Mikuru again.
She'll blend your phone. Your personal belongings. The clothes off your back. You. She is a deadly blending warrior now and don't you forget it.
Look at Tsuruya's face. Feel how the power dynamic has shifted.
I'm mad that we end on status quo.
But also happy for Yuki because she got what she wished for all the same.
Complicated feelings.

This makes no sense but it doesn't have to because this is the end of the road for the show, so it's not going to be followed up on. It's just. An amazing punchline to cap off the revisit of Eternal Eight.

some closing thoughts after this 2-months long adventure revisiting Yugioh 5D's..
I feel like I finally could enjoy this show as it's supposed to be enjoyed and it probably has to do with the fact that I'm more mature now (also finally able to get the full hd experience 🤣) and there's a fun thing about having a dogshit working memory: to be able to experience this show almost as if it was the first time again 😊 I can't recall when was the last time I watched it but it was probably close to 8-10 years ago 🤣
some loathed characters became favorites - I was avoiding this show like the plague because Jack Atlas was just......... so bad for past me 🤣🤣🤣 - well it turns out his peacock personality and overpowering sex appeal worked on me 🙄 Thanks I hate it 🤣💜
some characters I paid no attention before became favorites, too: Rex Godwin have my whole heart and I am so sad he died.. man why do my favorites always die huh huh???? 😭 get me out of here with this shit......... also, Rua (Lua) is the sweetest little guy and I was so damn excited for him because he's just so goddamn cool?!??1 Wtf!! Also most the "villains" since I'm built different and villains are my weak spot 🤣
my favorites are still my favorites so it was a delight to go back to them and love them even more, and see them in a different way than before

have to confess I did not remember him much so I kind of went on blind and, fuck me, he became one of my favs and do I even risk to say he IS my favorite character in this show?!!?? I could talk about this and about him for days but the long story short is that he checked all the boxes for me and pressed all the right buttons too and then he died too because of fucking course he died and I cried like fuck my life dude. That was so devastating... definitely want to give this show another go soon just so I can watch Bruno again. We have never had another character as cool and interesting as him in the franchise
as is tradition in YGOs, 5Ds started getting much better by the end, but it was very solid all over (except that arc full of fillers, it was annoying as hell because the episodes were not good), Crash Town was fun, and the last two arcs (WRGP and Ark Cradle) were very good
overall.. I think I'd bump 5Ds all the way up, becoming my second favorite YGO (guess it was in 4th place before?), because Zexal takes the podium FOR NOW, we'll see when I rewatch it and just how that will go XD
because we don't gatekeep on this house, you can find mkv+soft subs at nyaa dot si (best quality you'll get, but the files are fucking massive), and streaming at 123anime dot info (you can download there too, but it's mp4+hard subs). Both have all YGO series and a few other things too yay \o/

Mark - Mark was raised by a military father and a religious mother, Mark's grandparents, (passed before he was born), where the same way,the roles swapped. His great grandparents, though, were travel agents and exclusively wore Hawaiian shirts. His family does their best to hide this. Had a Batman phase that isn't a phase really. Listens to Grandson and Ethel Cain.
Cesar- Cesar is a novice at baking due to his Mama needing his help in the cafe. On the other hand, he has set fire making toast more times than he can count. Really loves Hozier and CryWank
Adam- Hamburger fiend. Gets nothing on it, whatsoever, and eats leftovers preferably over fresh food. Says that it's better that way. Teases Jonah constantly for liking ancient bands, is a Nirvana die hard, though. Also loved Modest Mouse
Jonah - He is a Mitski girly, and had the flames of a childhood obsession with an ancient franchise that's evolved insanely since it's inception, that Dave had memorabilia of (Pokemon)
Space Comic Con is a yearly event for the four of them,usually chaperoned by Dave. They take turns deciding the costumes, (usually bullying Adam and Mark into it). Below is a list (not in order)
• The different Robins from Batman, (Dave went as Superman, bad eventually had them on child leashes. Got many comments about how nice it was to see a dad have an outing with his step kids)
• Pokemon Trainers, themselves as them, Dave was Oak
• Angels
• Ghibli characters (Dave was that fucking King Parakeet)

My general feelings on my F/Os' canon love interests and how I picture my dynamic with each of them:
Prince Eric (The Little Mermaid):
Eric is MY GUY. BESTIE. HIMBO EXTRAORDINAIRE. We high five each other as we pass each other in the hallway because we both have the best wife in the world. Literally the epitome of this meme:
Me: "The stars are so beautiful tonight."
Eric: "You know who else is beautiful?"
Both of us in unison: *sighing dreamily* "Ariel~"
Keyleth (Critical Role: The Legend of Vox Machina):
So admittedly I have not finished the series yet but as far as I can tell, Vax and Keyleth have a very "right person, wrong time" type of relationship? Like, I get it, they're always gonna love each other, they're just never going to be in a place where they can BE together? And I mean......that works for me :P I feel marginally bad about stealing her man because she's so sweet and deserves a break, precious bean, but if it works it works <3
Meryl Stryfe & Milly Thompson (Trigun Stampede):
I felt so bad the moment I started watching the show because I was like "oh god another female character I'm gonna have to throw under the bus in the name of self shipping" but honestly so far in the 23 version I read their dynamic as platonic?? And just in general, I love her <3 She's a tough little cookie; and I haven't properly met Milly yet but I just know I'm gonna love her :P girl frankly you deserve to have Nick maybe you'll mellow him out a little good heavens XD
Helen Wick (John Wick franchise):
I will always have a moment to pay homage to our lord and savior Helen Wick who died to give us the best action franchise of the modern age, girl you were a real one and rest easy knowing I am going to RIDE THE TRAUMA OUT OF YOUR HUSBAND
Tess Marshall (Barbarian):

Alt Cunningham & Rogue (Cyberpunk 2077):
god I'm glad these two are Johnny's exes XD I'm sure I would have liked Alt a lot more had I known her when she was, y'know, alive, but as a......tech ghost or whatever, she's not a lot of fun :P As for Rogue, she's a bitch, I KNOW she's a bitch, and I respect her for it. She DID stab Johnny in the back though and I'm not about to let her forget it.
Alys Rivers & Helaena Targaryen (House of the Dragon):
I haven't properly met Alys yet but I'm looking forward to it, I feel like I'm gonna like her :P And Helaena is A SWEETHEART, an absolute darling, I would love to sit with her and have tea while she does her embroidery and listen to her talk about anything that comes into her pretty little head because THE GODS KNOW SOMEONE HAS TO. I will also be her "dump your shitty husband" friend so fast XD Like, LOOK AT AEMOND. LOOK AT HIM. HE'S RIGHT THERE GIRL I WILL SHARE.
Anyone Dream has ever been romantically involved with and yes I'm including Hob Gadling (The Sandman):

🔥 for TMNT; you can pick the series uwu
I'm really just gonna go with what's on the top of my head, since finally watching rise myself my TikTok has been full of tmnt content and since the franchise got a bit of a revamp in popularity as well since the movie, i;ve been seeing some slander I can not handle u_u if this are bad takes idk but its an excuse XD
Mainly people claiming the 2012 versions of the turtles don't act like brothers at all, that they hate each other. Heavey talks about Mikey being abused even. Spilter playing favorites and looking some is over the top its a show after all. But I'm sorry a lot of the smack talk is no different than me with my own siblings even today with us all as adults. There is just something about being related that makes ya wanna start fights. I even am this way with cousins around my age cause well they were like siblings to me and a bit with my best friend who is basically my sister. Yet I see it so often at least once a day about people just so against thier brother's relationships when not they care about each other and there is a lot of proof to this. Leo got hurt Raph stayed around the whole time they were in a coma. When Raph hugs Mikey because he thought he died. Mikey followed after Leo so they wouldn't go on a mission without backup. Raph not breaking the bro code when Casey asked if April ever talks about him and Raphs tells him Don likes her. There is a lot and I'm sorry but siblings fight it happens. When you and another person spend time together a lot of fighting happens how you handle it after that matters and uh hello most of thier lives they never got to go outside so they are bound to get annoyed with each other.
Seth Green did a good job voicing Leo in 2012. In truth, he is my favorite of the three va's Leo had over the show as well.
Raph slander (okay so a lot of this is about 2012 right now XD)
Raph is normally the big tough guy in the shows and comics after a bit that's been his whole thing. YET this boy is so quick to jump in to fight for his brothers like when Leo got yet through the window, or when Mikey got captured by the yokai. The second his brothers are in danger he's there to protect them. How he may not get donnies crush on April but hell stand by his side. Raph isn't abusive he's the hot head. I'm sorry but when your raised to fight and such and got anger issues? yeah a boy gonna react with his fists and words. Dosen't mean Raph is a bad brother I mean look how he babies his own pets? Hes just not good showing that affection to his brothers as he is the pets that kind of a normal trait even more so for a teen!
Tmnt over all: STOP. HYPEING. ONE. SERIES. BY. TRASHING. ANOTHER
TMNT has been around for so long there are so many things to get from it shows, movies, comics, and more. There isn't one good version only it's like a buffet of content! I have personally been getting into the comics myself and man the tears I have been spilling over the turtles!
Leos best moment is clearly in TMNT vs Batman movie where he kicks Ras a Ghoul in the balls and tells them he's sixteen and learned his finishing move from a rat. I'm sorry that is funny as all fucking hell.
2012 wasn't too anime, I personally loved the break in animation for expressions and such it added to a lot of moments. Baised maybe cause Ciro Neil was part of this version and he also was behind my favorite show SRMTHFG and worked on Teen Titans. SOO
Slightly simllair but Rise also! I think the times they didn't animate the characters was used so well my favorite episode I feel is mystic library because I die every time they get taken by the bats ;3;
VENUS should get more love! Im baised cause power rangers crossover sure but I wat Venus to get her due!

3 male characters I love: STILES STILES STILES he is one of THE BEST BOYS on TV!!! I love this character so much! Second, Derek with his broody dry sarcasm, absolutely delightful. Ah, let's complete the trio of main characters and take Scott, he's honestly so funny and sweet
3 female characters I love: KIRA! I love Kira so much she is so adorable and such a disaster in the best of ways, also I'm sorry but badass kitsune??? Hot damn! Second would be Allison, I always found her incredibly compelling and I am still mad at how she died (but then I'm also still mad at how they shelved Kira. Mh. Here's a trend for you. Date Scott McCall and you get canned <_< Weird writing decisions imo, considering he's the titular lead). And thiiird Melissa McCall, she's a great mom, even if she took some to adjust to Scott's situation, once she did, she was ride and die
3 romantic ships I love: Sterek, at the top, obviously. Stiles and Derek are top-tier. From the canon ships, it'd be Scott/Allison I was honestly so surprisingly much invested in this? 3 platonic dynamics I love: Scott-Stiles, their friendship is the backbone of this franchise. Second, mh, I do find the dynamic of Scott and Derek very interesting too, particularly in fics where the McCall pack and the Hale pack coexist (as it should be). And thirdly the Lydia-Allison friendship, I love me a good girls-friendship
3 favorite moments in canon: When Stiles carried Derek in the pool, that was *chef's kiss*, absolutely. Stiles in the hospital, thinking he's going to die of the same thing his mom did, but then the nogitsune reveal - Dylan's acting was incredible in the dual role. Brilliant. Third one is really hard, because despite having such shit writing for the most part, there are absolutely brilliant comedic pearls in this show. Okay let's go with one of my favorite shots, when Stiles and Scott are in the gay bar looking for Danny and Scott suddenly realizes it's a gay bar and turns toward Stiles, who is just surrounded by drag queens and goes "ya think" like he was in his element there and Jeff still trying to convince us that boy isn't bi lol what a fool

I feel like "everyone but me is wrong about them" is accurate at least half of the time within the fandom.
SEGA, especially SEGA of America, squanders Sonic's character/games a painful amount. Luckily they've been very good to him in the past two years or so, but I'm always cautiously optimistic of what they attempt with him and the franchise...
I don't know what a blorbo is but Sonic just feels like one to me.
Again, I could write an entire essay about how deep his character is. XD

Ohhh I see you're a fellow TLOK and JJBA fan 😌👌 I'm happy I found your blog!
Which Link and game are your favourite? Mines are Skyward Sword and its Link. I would die for SS Link everytime. (Not that I wouldn't for the other Links, but SS Link is special to me just like the game itself)
Oh this is such a tough one! I have to be honest, I only recently got back into the series, like, a year ago with BOTW and then TOTK! I grew up playing Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask on the N64 (both of which I fucking loved to death) and then kind of got out of playing them. However, my love for the games rekindled when I played BOTW.
So, I haven't played a lot of them yet. What I did do, however, was watch at least 300 hours of video material on all the games.. xD
My absolute favorite Link would either be the one from TOTK/BOTW or Twilight (the TP Manga just hit different, not sure if your read it). Totk/botw Link has such a silly, adorable personality that I couldn't help, but fall in love with! And I also feel so sorry for him; he basically died trying to protect his kingdom, only to be resurrected, waking up a hundred years later to see he basically died for nothing and having to save the world AGAIN. And if that wasn't enough, a few years later the princess goes missing under his care AGAIN, he has to save the world AGAIN. Which, of course, is his job, but the guilt that must be eating him up alive? It gives me shivers. He also has a soft spot in my heart for getting me back into the franchise <3
Also, sidenote, I do LOVE Skyward Sword (watched way too many video essays for my own good) and I am saving up to get it, because the Story is just so cool? I think it gets hated too much for the gameplay (though, I would have to play it first to make a real, unbiased judgement on that). I totally see that you have good taste hehe😽
I do have to say, as an honorable mention, Time hits different, too. Not just speaking from the Nostalgia standpoint, but his life is so, so tragic. He lost his whole childhood, was sent back to relive it, only to have to go through another tragic adventure. And if that wasn't enough, he dies later on in life during a random battle? Lil thing couldn't get any rest, and I can only imagine how hard it must have been for him :(

HOOOUGH, I haven't actually checked Heaven's Feel out yet mostly because I know how rough that one is and I know what happens to my favorites (cough Gil and Cu cough) and I gotta prepare for that. But the Camelot movies are GREAT - noticeably a bit different from the actual game chapter (unlike Babylonia), but still super fun, Lancelot vs Agravain was INSANE. Bedivere tho, man....man...........
As for Solomon, haha, I can't watch that one, playing the story once was enough I'm not masochistic enough to do that again lmao. But I've heard it's FANTASTIC.
I....really do want to watch Prisma Illya tbh, if only because Kid Gil, I have priorities! But I read enough of the manga to know it's actually really good ignoring the, uh, awkward bits. And I've watched an LP of Extra, but not the anime yet, if just because I prefer the female protagonist XD I should though, because it's got a couple of my favorite Servants in it and more content of your favs is always good.
BUT YEAH FATE HURTS A LOT, A LOT OF THE TIME, but the highs are enough to make the pain worth it. I'd ask who your favorite characters are but I'm also pretty sure I know at least one, who we share XD Besides His Goldiness, though, is there anyone else you like?
AHAHA yeah, it's rough, it's literally just pain. Beautifully animated pain, though! Watching all three in a row back to back was a MISTAKE, do not do that -- be kind to yourself; take breaks XD
I really enjoyed the Camelot movies! Oh that's good to know, I knew that the Babylonia chapter was pretty in line with the game, but didn't know anything about this one. What are the main differences?
Yeah, Prisma Illya isn't really my thing in terms of the series itself (I've never been into the magical girl genre) so the movies initially flew under my radar, but while I was looking around to see what Fate stuff I missed, I noticed they look like they're in a completely different style from the Prisma Illya series itself? Like more in line with UBW, Zero, etc. I've never checked out the manga so barely know anything about the plot, but I'm expecting, you know, hurt. As usual :D
I liked the Extra anime! It's very different in style from pretty much everything else I've watched in the franchise. I think the best way I could describe it is the narration/view point is disjointed the way gothic literature is, instead of being like a straightforward adventure or an epic, which I think a lot of people found jarring and ended up not really vibing with it. I thought the presentation really fit well with the content, though, it just took a minute to get used to it.
Haha, yup, I do love Gil! My top fave is Kojiro, though, who sadly doesn't feature nearly as much as like. anyone else T____T I take whatever crumbs I can get, even a measly 1.3 second appearance just to fucking die Which is one of the reasons I really liked the cooking spin off! He was happy! He got to eat sandwiches! XD (Carnival Phantasm was also really good for getting some cute, non-heartbreaking content for him <3)
I also really like Cu, Karna, Alexander, Vlad, and Mordred. For non-Servants, my faves are Waver and Shishigou.

And so ends the second Class Trial.
Oh wow, Kokichi got fucking CREEPY in this case. His plan to make Maki and Kaito argue against each other freaked me out. Not the plan, but just how... into it he was.
He's doing that whole sheer unbridled bliss thing thing that Junko and Nagito did, but Nagito was never this creepy about it. He can't be the Mastermind, right? That's too obvious, right? There's no way.
In any case, I'm happy to say I nailed almost all of the facts of this case. That Ryoma let himself be killed threw a bit of a curveball into my logic chain about someone needing to be able to outpace him, but the answer was still Kirumi nonetheless.
Kirumi being the Prime Minister threw me for a loop. @.@ Not that it matters, I'm sure. Not sure if the impending doom that was mentioned was the Tragedy or if it's some other horrible event that happened later on; Either way, we're in space now so I'm sure it already transpired. There was nothing for Kirumi to save.
Shuichi called Kirumi's end "undignified" because he's a prat, but she gets my seal of approval. I will never understand how some people can face impending death and just, like, let it happen. That's not really a factor in Danganronpa since most people get restrained beforehand. But I see it in other media.
Undignified. Honestly. Why wouldn't you go down swinging? It's something that's bothered me since I was a kid. Kirumi died the way I would hope to die if I was in her place.
Once trial was over, Gonta started complaining that the stars are wrong. And. Well. I'm sure he's right. They are wrong. That's just more fuel for the "We're in space" fire.
Monokuma also said something about being the ruler of this entire world. I doubt he's talking about Earth, the cryptic bastard. Maybe we're not just in a satellite or spaceship, but actually on Mars or something?
Both of these moments seem like you're supposed to see the reveal and then catch them on replay and go, "Ahhh, I see what you did there." But I figured out we were in space right at the start, so I already see what you did there. :P
And it turns out Maki ISN'T the Ultimate Child Caregiver after all! She's the Ultimate Assassin! Wow, this is the least surprising surprise in franchise history. XD Hadn't pegged her for an assassin, but literally everyone and their dog found "Child Caregiver" unconvincing even in the game itself.
Well, now that we know that, this dumps her likelihood of ever being the Blackened straight into the abyss. Remember when Genocide Jack made it through an entire game and never killed anybody? The professional murderer being the killer is just too obvious.

star trek in modern times, is even worse than disney star wars. And thats completely disregarding the actually good parts like the rebels final season and mandalorian. Its miles worse than Rise of Skywalker. Like i genuinely got sick reading an interview of the making of picard, and the writer basically saying that the title character, who wanted to save billions of innocent lives, was the same as a colonialist supremacist, because he(A white man) tried to save an entire setient race from planetary destruction because... Well basically because he was a white man trying to play the role of a "savior", and so deserved scorn and mockery for believing they needed his help(And they did, the vast majority of them fucking died with their planet, when his higher ups essentially told him and his humanitarian efforts to go fuck themselves). Basically he was the one guy who stuck to his principles and the ideals of basic human decency and wanted to actually try and help, and the writers thought he was a colonialist for even trying to do so. And thats just ONE of the many, many, MANY terrible bits of writing from modern star trek.

I dunno, that sounds exactly like Star Trek Next Gen to me. A lot of those episodes try to be all Metaphor about some social issue, aim for Center-Left in their politics, and somehow only end up hitting "no one should ever use transporters for anything."

Yes, this is the entire list. But I admit I haven't seen everything, just all the classic movies and random samplings from the various series. Yes, that includes "The Wrath of Kahn" and "The Best of Both Worlds" Neither really grabbed me.
But I'll give Star Trek this: "The Trouble with Tribbles" lived up to all the hype and was spectacular. The DS9 follow-up, sadly, seems to have been made after everyone involved in the franchise forgot what comedy is; I could see that episode striving to make a joke, but it could never quite get its hands on the right ingredients.

But I hear that a lot of people like Rick & Morty, and I've even heard that it contains some actual real scifi concepts. I mean, there's a reason Star Trek started on a major television network, shrank down to a more obscure network, and then eventually died. Maybe it should have chased trends and/or tried to be real scifi earlier. It's why I'm so confused why anyone thought that Star Trek could be a draw for Paramount+, beyond getting the die-hard Starfleet-uniform-owning super-fans as a guaranteed audience.
But even if they're making weird extremist arguments for what they're doing with all the new Trek (and I admit I'll a little doubtful that your summary is capturing the full message), at least there's an attempt to put some kind of perspective into the story. Junk like 'The Rise of Skywalker' is terrible partially because the only meaning to be derived from it is what's there by accident. There's no coherent voice to it. It's pure derivative mush, poisoned by panicked attempts to please the worst kind of fans.
So being bad for reasons besides being boring garbage is actually doing fairly well for Star Trek. I applaud the new writers. XD
Sorry. If it sounds like I'm being really harsh to Star Trek, it's because I am. ;) I've never understood the appeal, beyond finding that the original Kirk/Spock/Bones dynamic could be enjoyable to watch if it wasn't buried in super-boring hour-long trudges. My brother loves to watch reruns of the various series, but it's never done anything for me when it isn't being a full-on comedy and/or ripping off Star Wars.

Vick in 10 Different Styles: TMNT Edition!
Something I've been working on/stalling on for a while now. Time for some vicks in different styles of the TMNT multiverse.
First theres the 1987 style, which I'm really happy with how it turned out. I think Vick would be a lot more sassy in the 80s, as well as far more arrogant, thinking shes all that and a bag of hot cheetos (... wait thats the 90's/00's)
Then we have 2003 style, followed by the (near) end of that era, Flash Foward (or 2003 season 6) (I have not seem season 7 yet lol) I also really like how these turned out, considering they would be the same character, with how long vick is able to live. Both would be a lot more motherly in this universe, with just a touch of mischief to her. shes also ride or die, and willing to take bullets for friends
Now the toughest ones, obviously, were 2007 (the movie with one of my favourite lines -w-) and 2012 (technically my true introduction into the franchise) Translating 2d images into a 3d shape... yeah, not my strong suit. though i love the eyes and how 2012's face turned out.
in 2007, Vick would be about the same age as the turtles, also now trying to adult with no one to fight. Thankfully she has a talent for art and writing
in 2012, Vick is a bit older than the teens, likely about 20/21, and takes on the adventurous mother role. basically making sure the boys, and April, know they did something stupid, but only after the fact
Rise was fun, a different take from a screen shot edit i did once. i think it turned out nice, maybe could do better on line weight. Mother role, thats basically it XD She would definitely mother Splinter on top of that, getting on his tail about his health and especially his grooming habits. Honestly, it would be like them being married, but platonically.
Blast to the Past was interesting? since its the same universe as 2012, the style was basically just simplified from that. Plus i added Phirepop in there. all Vick's fucking love dinosaurs, and she would absolutely be queen of the raptors, considering she would be able to make the same noises to communicate.
IDW... I'll be honest, I haven't really read the idw comics. I really want to, seriously, but there are a lot of comics, and only so many hours and spoons in a day. I think i captured the style pretty well though?
movies/Live Action, Okay so I cheated a little, and made it mostly a photoshopping project -w-' but i think i did pretty well, using my Project Victory AU design, made it a simplistic edit.

Resident Evil Welcome To Raccoon City
Let me warn you all that this is still my first reaction. And before I get into certain details. There will be no spoilers. I also just checked to make sure...I’ll mention it when I talk about the movie. But the first I’m gonna do, and I am gonna sound childish(As in I’m gonna hold shift when typing done my reaction). Again, my first reaction. I’m worried my viewpoint may change. But opinions can change. Yet after worrying and being excited for this movie. I’m gonna say what I first said in my last post, and to my mom(That time was without the swear).

WHY DIDN’T WE GET THIS IN 2002!? OH MY GOD! THIS IS EASILY IN MY TOP FIVE VIDEO GAME MOVIE ADAPTATIONS! THIS IS WHAT I WANTED! AND WHATEVER ELSE I WANTED TO SAY! FORGET THE CRITICS! IT WAS WORTH SEEING THIS! I NEEDED TO GET IT SEEING THIS OUT OF MY SYSTEM! I WANT A SEQUEL! GIVE ME NEMESIS AND EVEN CODE VERONICA! I WANT MY BOY NEMESIS! JOHANNES ROBERTS YOU DID IT! I LOVED THIS MOVIE!
I’m trying to think what else I wanted to blurt out. But in all seriousness, despite what else I will talk about in this film. I trust Johannes Roberts. Because there was some people in the theater with me. Not a whole lot though.
I was worried it was gonna be a TMNT 2014(A film I feel could’ve been much better) and Venom(A film I’m fine with. But want it to be better too) situation. Yet, I love this movie. Yet I need to talk about it a little more in depth.
But I wanna say this. As a fan of this franchise. The classic games, the remakes, and a lot of other things. I loved this movie. And Johannes Roberts has gained my trust.
I just written the whole thing. I’m gonna add a keep reading option so no one is annoyed.

I understand from what people have said. That maybe it’s best for this series to go in a more Evil Dead kind of route. Maybe with later movies. But oh my lord, this is so much better than the Paul W.S. Anderson films. I actually felt a little tense or something. This was actually a horror film. The director/writer knows his shit. This was shot well, and it felt scary. Like how the games are meant to be.
Again, I get the ‘B movie’ approach and all that. I feel like and not to sound weird. This is such a better representation of the games than any of the other live action movies.
Everyone did fantastic in their roles. Especially ones such as Kaya Schelario as Claire and Robbie Amell as Chris. To be honest, this is their movie to be exact. This is a Chris and Clarie movie. Even Hannah John-Kamen as Jill was cool too. And I strangely like Avan Jogia’s portrayal as Leon. I do get the direction they were taking that he’s the rookie. And it’s silly, in a good way. This isn’t a RE4 Leon basically. XD
Yet I do wanna say considering characterizations. Which I feel like die hard RE fans may have a problem with how some characters are written. But honestly, the two or THE ONE I think most are gonna have a problem with is Albert Wesker himself.
Tom Hopper did fine as him. But...some of the direction they take him in...if you love Wesker as a character. You might be bothered by it. Yet I can understand of Roberts I think trying to take this in a, “Realistic” direction. Which some OG fans have rightfully criticized for understandable reasons. But with the mid credits scene. And before writing this, I had to make sure there was no other post credits scene. There’s just one. I decided not to stay for the full credits because I REALLY had to go to the bathroom. XD
But yeah...I hope if we get a sequel...he may end up like the Wesker I really like. Let’s just say he’s maybe a...less dramatic version of the game version. Yet he does do something I strangely predicted but in a way just...damn...
And the other one is Irons. I can get the direction they were going for him. He is still antagonistic. But not as much as...his game self. I should just admit that William Birkin is the main villain. And...I question how the fans would feel about the villain portrayals.
But honestly, here’s the issue I noticed. Sorry to say this, don’t expect much more depth. And I did think this would happen and I don’t want to say it. This is mainly a movie for the fans in a sense. If you’re a fan of the franchise, particularly the games. You’re gonna love this possibly if you let loose and accept some changes with this version.
This film was made by people and a director/writer who appreciated the games. But I think some changes are gonna turn off some people. If you’re a casual viewer, and you haven’t seen any RE movie or played any games. Then you’re likely gonna be confused by some things.
Especially I may seem to agree with the direction to combine both Resident Evil 1 & 2 into one movie is insane. Yet the way they do it is nicely done. Yet...I feel like this should’ve been longer possibly. Mainly for some characters to develop more.
If you’re a fan of the franchise. You’re gonna understand things easily. But if you’re not...likely not. But I’m maybe thinking too much about that. I did wonder if Roberts is trying to reintroduce this series. Which is why some things are not fully explained. Which I can understand.
Also, I want to say this. I can totally see his John Carpenter influence in the movie. That shit did not disappoint. That was damn good inspiration for this movie honestly.
Fuck, I want this to have a sequel. Wikipedia says the budget is 25 million, and it hasn’t made that yet. If that is the budget. Because I want a sequel where they could improve upon things and I want to see more of this version of Resident Evil. I want it to be directed by Johannes Roberts. And again, I wanna see my boy Nemesis. Yet I feel the most logical step forward is Code Veronica. We’ll have to wait and see.
And I just found out that Roberts said if there were to be a sequel. That he would like to adapt Code Veronica or RE4. And Robbie Amell wants to return and to include his boulder punching scene. XD My God, I want a sequel if these guys want this! And hopefully we can change Resident Evil 8 too while we’re at it! XD
I hope this does well at the box office.
Overall, I really liked the movie. While some character development may be lacking. The effects were good, I liked the acting. And it felt like a genuine Resident Evil film. The 2002 film is well...the second best. I’m just so fucking grateful we have a RE film that isn’t one of those! This is a legit RE film...my lord. I feel like I enjoyed this more than MK 2021. And I thought that film was fine. This is definitely in my top 5 video game movie adaptations.

As per my headcanon, Jekyll owns a garden. And I like to imagine that he experiments a bit on some of the plants, ranging from "more colors" "Stonger smell" To "This snapdragon could swallow you whole, but would rather eat raspberries out of your hand like some weird horse"
Jekyll should also own a horse, at the very least every stable in London should know him by name since hes probably too busy to actually take care of a horse 😔. I was about to ask what name Jekyll would give a horse but then I realized he would probably name it after some alchemy person

Anyways! I love that HC and I accept it wholeheartedly, I feel like it would make a lot of sense for him to have a lot of plants bc so many of them can be used in alchemy. Plants are so lovely and I'd like to say that I have a lot but the plants my family have are all like 15 years old and also half dead BC all of us forgot to take care of them. I spontaneously bought a Bride orchid a few months back. It's very dead </3 I'd like to imagine that he has a sun/plantroom in his house and that he would have a lot in the society too, if not for the fact that he doesn't really have time to tend to them, but my version of Jekyll definitely has a lot of plants<3
He definitely should own a horse and that horse is a Clydesdale named Mayhem /j but I like the thought of him having horses. Specifically either those really ragged horses that only farmers use BC they have no better BC he thinks they deserve a good life (and very much will be offended if anyone dares to try to suggest he buys a new horse) or he would have those really, really fancy white purebreeds. Either way he would definitely be a horse girl and one of those that would be obsessed with buying accessories for them. I remember watching videos about commanding in skeleton and zombie horses into minecraft and i thought it was THE SHIT when I was a kid! Skeleton horses my beloved!! Henry can have a zombie horse, as a treat. You know Henry with Shadowmare would be absolutely terrifying and so cool... Although I will probably spoil your fun by saying that, at least in folklore, a church grim (of any race or species) would probably just be a black-coloured, ragged looking animal with a slightly ghostly... Vibe to it? Nothing completely demonic about them, they just have That Wrong Vibe and look like a stray/neglected most of the time, I think that’s v fun <3
I’m a fake Elder scrolls fan bc I have only played Skyrim, sadly. I have watched some videos about Oblivion but it was mostly “trying to beat Oblivion with only X” videos and stuff, but I HAVE Seen the khajiits from there and just... Im glad that I’m used to how they look in Skyrim XD
Jekyll would be someone to like spiders and his lab would probably be covered in spiderwebs, not bc he doesn’t clean but bc he would feel bad destroying the beautiful webs. Maybe he would try to genetically enhance a spider to be the size of a puppy? I feel like spiders would be much cuter if they were larger, at least the thicc hairy ones. The spinely ones still freaks me out tho XD
Moths are so fucking beautiful but they are dumb as bricks. A few months ago a moth accidentally came into my room, scared the shit out of me, and then got stuck in the blinds and went back and forth with the length of one of the... Blades of the blinds? Strips? Sounding like a fucking jet engine until my sister caught it and put it outside again. The most common moths I have seen are emperor moths and I think blood vein moths? Very cute when they don’t scare the shit out of me <3
I’m not an expert on them but I think they are cool, as long as I don’t have to touch them most of the time-- fungi, at least, actual edible mushrooms are fine tho. I remember when I was in like... First grade, my class went on a field trip with a lady who owned a funky bus that she used to teach kids about nature and shit, and she taught us a lot about mushrooms and the parts of mushrooms, I think she talked about toadstolls a lot and did the classic “don’t eat the red mushrooms, you will die” speech, and she also gave us speeches about how everything in Australia (which is fun, since we are on the other side of the world) is out to kill you. It was fun <3
ANyways I’m a basic bitch, so I’m going to say that chanterelles and champignon are my favourite mushrooms bc those are some of the only ones I know and they taste v good. I think we are entering chanterelle season here so I’m going to try to convince my parents to buy some to make a stew out off <3<3
It will come as no surprise when I say Skyrim, right? Skyrim and Assassin’s creed Origins/Syndicate. I absolutely love Skyrim and I love AC, I forced my sister to buy Origins bc it was the first AC game I got interested in bc I was in the middle of an Ancient Egypt phase and I fell in love with the franchise. I bought Syndicate premium edition (with all DLCs and extras) for 75sek/7$ bc it was on sale bc it’s such an old game and I absolutely love it, I have been so tempted to make a Syndicate / TGS crossover bc it is basically in the same time period and I would very much like Henry to be the frye twins secret poison supplier. My bff bought me Odyssey when it was on sale for my birthday but I haven’t gotten around to play it yet bc I’m still not finished with Syndicate, and my sister bought me Valhalla for my birthday last year but our computer is a potato and can’t run it. I ruined my Skyrim with too many mods and I haven’t had time to play a lot of games lately, sadly </3
