Every few months I remember that The Man From U.N.C.L.E. exists and I watch it and I love it and I get exited and I think “there’s still time to make a second one” and then I remember that Armie Hammer turned out to be a complete freak and I get really mad at him for ruining the chances of a sequel

So I am officially obsessed with The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Starring Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer. It’s my new favorite movie or like say in the top 5. It’s in my I will never tire of rewatching list. And I am in love. The cinematography is great and I think I just love Guy Ritchie’s style. It was absolutely a silly spy movie but seriously they all are silly and that’s why I love them. Henry and Armie or Solo and Illya have the best banter. I also don’t know what it is about Guy Ritchie films but his main characters have to stop seeming like they are going to be in love by the end of the movie and then not being in love. (Sherlock Holmes I’m looking at you too). The plot was less important than the characters imo and I think that’s where this movie shines. Highlighting the 3 main characters and how they end up completing, or not, their missions.
I could just go on for days about this movie. I don’t even have any real complaints, which is rare. The only complaint I have is Solo and Illya don’t get together in the end and that’s not really a real complaint. It’s just me having silly headcanons.
Rewatching I noticed little things that were to clues to later parts of the film that you wouldn’t notice the first time and that was so fun. This movie has everything I love in a spy movie. It’s so good. It deserves way more love and attention than it’s gotten. I don’t know why more people are singing it’s praises and falling in love with this beautiful work of art.

Side note: the show from the ‘60’s stars David McCallum as Illya, who also plays Ducky on NCIS and that brings me a lot of joy even though I haven’t seen the show as of yet. But I love David and Ducky.
Post updated with a few gifs. Also anyone who loved White Collar should love this movie as Solo and basically are the same person. Solo just has a little more danger skills.

Knives Out 2 is genuinely just as good as the first one. The only reason I'd say the first is better is simply because it's the first of them. But I mean, it's just sO refreshing being able to watch a movie series that aren't actually connected. You don't need to have watched Knives Out to understand Glass Onion. They don't mention, reference or allude to the first film AT ALL and it's fuckin great.
This is exactly the kind of thing I wanted for movies like The Man From U.N.C.L.E and The Nice Guys. A trio of fun and exciting anthology movie series.

And the hilarious bit at the end that someone (I don't remember who 😭) pointed out:
The guy who hasn't touched a drop of alcohol in the entire film downs his drink
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the guy who's been drinking champagne, wine, scotch, etc. the entire film sets his down untouched.

also maybe this is just me but like. why the fuck would you Want to continue supporting a company once you find out they've been supporting something that's causing people to call for boycotts. like of course if your options are limited where you live you gotta do what you gotta do but like. continuing to be genuinely sad that you're being advised not to support them feels so strange because to me it's like. when it comes to things being boycotted/people being "cancelled" for supporting israel i'm not "waiting anything out" for them to change their minds I've already cut them out. dead to me. sad for maybe an hour or two at the damn most. it's not a matter of whether or not it's acceptable/going against the boycott it's just like. okay the way i perceive this has fundamentally changed. they are immediately painted in a negative light in my brain and it's Staying Like That Forever. starbucks? wait a minute my usual mocha cookie crumble is just crunchy chocolate milk with a splash of coffee. burger king? oh yeah i usually find bone/cartilage in at least one of my nuggets. mcdonalds? y'know what their frappes make my tummy hurt and their nuggets only taste like Not Cardboard only once in a blue fucking moon. Noah Schnapp? well hey I never caught up with stranger things & now the pressure's off. quick and easy

The Man from U.N.C.L.E and Top Gun Fusion - Hangster & Icemav
Tumblr media
IceCold Agency and Inverted Agency are two adversary secret agencies, led by Iceman and Maverick respectively, forced to put aside longstanding hostilities and team up on a joint mission: stopping a mysterious international criminal organization that is bent on destabilizing the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology.
The only lead to infiltrate the criminal organization is a vanished scientist’s daughter, Natasha Trace. To retrieve the asset, Iceman and Maverick each send their best agent: the combat expert Rooster and the smooth-talker thief Hangman.
Thus is created the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement, a secret international intelligence agency. Code name: U.N.C.L.E.
