thomas was an early riser - whether it be to get an early head start on the maze in the past, or simply to enjoy the solitude that morning bought when he wasn't bombarded with the onslaught that were the other gladers - their fights, loud voices and boisterous actions.
now, though, he didn't enjoy them alone. instead, he would make the short trek out of his room to the adjacent one of his girlfriend, where he'd always find her sleeping soundly, curled up under her covers, even in warm weather.
he'd close the curtains for her if she'd forgotten, to shield her from the upcoming sunlight, and would choose whichever side she was less splayed across - a feat, as she really enjoyed stretching her body to its limit to fit each crevice of her bed - before slipping in beside her.
he'd take a moment to appreciate the soft, warm feel of her flesh against his own - usually bare or only lightly-clad - chest, wrapping a large hand over her midsection, and pushing her hair away from her pillow gently, greeted by a whiff of a distinctly sweet, almost floral scent.
he wouldn't sleep - he usually couldn't, once he'd already awoken - so, he'd allow his breaths to slow to match hers, he'd allow his muscles to relax against her, and allow his eyes to close, focusing on the effects on his other senses.
she could tell when he'd come, as the skin of her midsection would grow warmer, and she'd feel the back of her calves and feet entangle with another's. she wouldn't allow her eyes to open just yet, but would turn over to face him, wrapping her own arm around him. he felt so hot against her - a goddamn furnace - and she brings her head up so her nose grazes his own.
"hey." he mumbles, a whisper in the space between them
"g'd morning." she mumbles back, not moving her lips much and leaving her words a bit garbled. she brings a hand to her eyes to rub them, willing them open and hoping she didn't look too groggy.
she did, of course, making thomas exhale a laugh.
"you're so cute," she smiles, knowing that he's not being sarcastic.
"why, thank you." it's a jokingly dramatic response, and she finally pulls herself up a little, smoothing her hair and rubbing her eyes, "what time is it?"
"too early," he answers, pulling her back down. she laughs at the aggressive action, pulling away from him just slightly in order to look at him.
he always looked his best like this: still-there bed-hair and that morning calmness that came with no impending responsibilities. it was a good look on him, and she makes this clear, tilting up just slightly in order to bring her lips to his.
it's soft - but only for a moment - before a sense of desperation weaves through the both of them and, suddenly, she's gripping his biceps and he the flimsy material of her sleep-shirt bunched around her waist.
they didn't get many moments alone like this, but that worry that someone may walk in on them had stopped them from going much further than any above-the-clothes touching. besides, their lives had been so hectic until now that the simple pleasures of life were things they hadn't completely learned.
today, though, the throbbing between both of their thighs: her at his firm grip and him at her swallowed moans, had culminated in that lesson being necessary. her hand ventured down his torso, settling on the waistband of his trousers, not even bothering to take them off, and slowly reaching her fingers under them, feeling his warm cock jolt at her touch.
he detached from her, his head thrown back as he attempted to be quiet.
"fuck, baby-" he's got this apprehensive look in his eyes, but she needs this so much, letting her hands gently squeeze and release.
"please? please, lemme make you feel good - i just-" she doesn't finish, cut off by his vigorous agreement. smirking, she uses both her hands to grip his pants, pulling them down just enough to expose his cock to her. she traces her fingers up and down his length, feeling the telltale sign of his arousal on and over his tip. his shaky breaths right by her ears spur her hands to move just that bit faster. she's tempted to slip the covers off of them and go the whole way for the first time, and his lips on her neck to subdue his noises were definitely not deterring her from that plan.
what did deter her, however, was the sharp knock on the door, causing her to wrench her hand away and squeak in shock, as thomas attempts to not lose the friction of her hands, his hips bucking as he tried to chase the feeling.
"is thomas in there?" minho's voice is muffled, but obvious, through the door, as thomas's head tips backwards, his chest rising and falling as he caught his breath.
"yeah - yeah, minho. s'everything alright?" she says it back, her hand still suspended in the air, embarrassed at being interrupted.
"breakfast's ready - get it while it's hot!" another voice - a female voice - shouts through the door in a way where it's obvious she's walking away - going to eat, presumably. she finally lets her tense muscles relax in the knowledge that it's not an emergency. she's almost inclined to slip her hand back under and finish the job, and when she looks over at her boyfriend, he seems incredibly interested in the idea, but a better plan springs to her head.
"we should get going, baby. they'll get suspicious." it's a meek excuse, but it's solidified by her rising from bed, causing him to groan, and follow her lead, pulling his clothes over himself.
Tumblr media
blue balls didn't even begin to describe the tension that coiled in his muscles as he meekly sat down across from minho. he felt as though every sense was heightened, like when he'd jumped at a quiet clatter from inside the kitchen. his friends all watched over his antsy behavior, unsure of the reason for it.
on the other hand, his girlfriend - sat next to him - knew exactly what was wrong, and she used it to her advantage, by being more touchy than usual. a hand on his arm, or around his shoulders, or on his chest as she rose to get some water. it's like she'd left hand-prints in his already warm skin. it came to a head when the hand she'd already precariously been resting on his knee started venturing higher, trailing along the inseam of his pants.
he tries, god, he tries to ignore it, but it's all too much when her finger finally rests over the head of his cock, her palm encompassing him.
he chokes on his sip of water, causing it to spill all over him, and minho's eyebrows immediately furrow.
"you alright, man?" her hand's out from under the table, and is resting on his bicep.
"yeah, babe, are you feeling okay?" he glares at her, jaw clenched and eyes narrow. she looks back up at him innocently, though he can see the ghost of a devilish smile dance on her lips.
"'m'fine. just gonna go change." his food is practically untouched as he raises from his seat, hoping his situation isn't particularly obvious, as he heads back in the direction of his place. minho turns to her, a bit confused by the abrupt nature of his actions.
"'s'he okay?" she shrugs.
"maybe he slept wrong?" she pauses, contemplative, before raising up as well, "i'll go check on him." minho watches as she walks off as well, still a bit confused, before turning to gally, sat a bit away from him, who had an almost sour expression on his face.
"what's wrong?" why was everyone acting so weird today? minho thought, as gally looks at him incredulously, shocked he doesn't realize what was happening between the couple.
"you-? you know what, it's nothing. don't worry about it." it's dismissive, but minho shrugs his shoulders, figuring it was, in face, nothing.
in that time, she's knocking on his door, and, as soon as he realizes who it is he pulls her in, pushing her until she's facing his bed.
"fuck, what're you doing?" she mumbles, and he sighs.
"finishing what you started, baby." she smiles, looking back at him, before turning around.
"well, if you wanna finish, let's start here-" she lowers to her knees in front of him, and his head rolls back at the sight of her in the position. her fingers greedily clutch at his waistband, pulling his pants and boxers down in one motion.
he's aching, she can see it in the way his cock's pulsing, as she takes him in her palm, slowly - tortuously - stroking him as his hands weave through her hair. she can feel the lightest push against her head - to the point where he probably didn't even realize the action - and succumbed to his untold request, moving her head forward to gently wrap her lips around his tip.
"just - shit, just like that, baby." her tongue traces his head, as low moans escape him. she hums around him - something akin to a 'thank you', but all it translates to is increased sensation on his cock. his head tips back at the feeling, and his hand grips her head a little tighter, pushing her down a little further. she lets him, stilling her movements to focus on his guidance. he moves her head up and down his length, her tongue poking out along its underside, languidly lavishing the area, "you're so good - fuck me, you feel really good-"
he doesn't hesitate to continue praising her, before gently tugging her down and holding her there. immediately, her fingers reach up to grip his thighs, feeling the light - and then more serious gag at the sensation. he takes another moment to appreciate the pretty sight in front of - or under - him, before releasing her, letting her off her cock and allowing her to take deep breaths to account for her lack of oxygen.
"get up here for me, baby." he practically orders, taking her by her arms and helping her up, lightly pushing her against the bed, "first time - i'm not finishing in your mouth." she smiles, whole-heartedly agreeing with his plan, as she felt her own core throb with a need for friction.
he pushes her so that she's sitting on the bed, and, just as he goes to lay her down - there's another knock at the door.
"thomas - you said you'd help with fixing that problem on the east side." it's minho - again - calling thomas for, admittedly, a project he had signed up for the previous week, fixing some construction issue or something on the east side of the haven. admittedly, it'd seemed important work - until now, "we needa fix it quick, man - apparently it's gotten worse." thomas is literally stopped in his tracks, until she taps on his thighs, about chest level with her, essentially reminding him to get ready instead of staying still.
"c'mon, baby - go on." she mumbles, as she also rises, pulling her hair back. she waits as he gets ready, leaving the room and greeting minho - with a tone of voice that is a little distraught - making her smile.
on the other side of the door, minho's a little exasperated.
"how long does it take to change?" thomas looks confused, before remembering his lackluster excuse, and coughing.
"i - just tell me what the issue is, yeah?"
Tumblr media
over the day, she'd continued with her own work, as thomas had continued with his. of course, both of them had been a bit distracted the whole day - unable to exactly focus when remembering what was waiting for them back home. their states were obviously noticed by the people around them - with both their friends stepping around them with quirked eyebrows or concerned impressions.
finally - believing he might actually be feeling ill - minho simply shrugs, telling thomas that maybe it'd be best he go back to his and sleep the day off. thomas was a little hesitant, but finally agreed - he wasn't exactly the biggest help in this state.
as he headed back, he swung by where she was, muttering a quick greeting to the others also working. she'd been taking a small break to clear her head of - well, the person now standing in front of her. her face lights up at the sight of him, wrapping him in a hug - though he's a little sweaty from his work earlier. one of her friends, in a similar manner to minho, urges her to head on home, and to pick up again the next day - a offer that she almost meekly accepts.
finally, the both of them are walking back towards her place.
she's got a bit of a pep in her step, and it makes him smile, his muscles aching - from his work, or from this morning, he wasn't sure - yet he knows exactly where her energy's coming from. she steps into her place, and he's right on her heels, pushing against her back as she laughs, trying to slip her shoes off as his hands relentlessly wander her body. finally, as she rises, she grabs his loose shirt, pulling him into her, capturing his lips against hers. he smiles into her mouth, and she hums contently - having a distinct feeling that it was the day they'd actually go all the way. her hands trail under his shirt until she pushes off of him for a moment, grabbing the bottom of the shirt and pulling it up and off of him. he smirks at her eagerness, but before he can make a dumb comment, her hands are at his trousers, gently tugging them down his legs. his hands join hers without a second thought, helping her get them the rest of the way down.
she can see him, hard against his boxers, and, after pushing him so he's laying down on her bed, she appreciates the way he looks - a little desperate, a lot pretty. he reaches for her hips, but she steps back, and a strange - almost garbled - whisper of indignation leaves his lips. it makes her lips quirk into a smirk, as she slowly begins taking her clothes off - each with weighty effort and a teasing smile. it doesn't defer him - as his eyes follow her movements greedily - but it definitely piques his excitement much more effectively when she finally places her thighs on either side of him, straddling his own. his hands reach up to grip her hips, guiding them down to rub against him, enjoying the slight buck of her hips, and the small noises leaving her mouth.
finally, she pulls his last article of clothing off, procuring his cock - thick and heavy - in her hand, languidly stroking him, causing his grip to tighten. she smiles against him, contemplating teasing him further but, feeling her own need, she decides against it, choosing to sit up a little higher on her knees instead.
"ready?" she mumbles looking down at his length as she attempts to situate herself correctly. maintaining her balance as she does, he hums in response, nodding as much as he can while keeping his eyes glued to her face. he can see the slight stress occur to her when she feels his cock against her, and he rubs his fingers against her lightly.
"'re you - want me to help?" she thinks he's asking if she needs to be taken care of and - though it wouldn't hurt - she's too desperate to finally feel him inside her to wait much longer.
"n-no, i wanna feel you, now." the admission makes him exhale lowly, appreciating her appreciation, and he lifts her ass up to help her hover over his cock. she can feel his head at her entrance so, taking a deep breath, she sinks down.
she's watching his anticipatory face fall into one of pleasure, and he's watching the same occur on hers - but there's that hint of discomfort that she desperately trying to ignore, stilling as her ass reaches his hips and attempting to adjust.
"'re you okay, baby?" he's massaging the expanse of her thighs and hips, trying to focus on the fucking amazing feeling of her, but also on relieving as much of the pain as he can. she's got a light wince on her face as she nods through gritted teeth.
"yeah - fuck, yeah - just give me a minute." he reassures her with short mumbles and loving phrases, hoping it was doing something to help. after another couple of moments, she breathes deeply, nodding at him lightly, before gently placing her hands against his shoulders.
she pushes up using her thighs, not loving the feeling of emptiness, in that half moment, before she sunk back onto him, releasing a small, gasping moan at the sensation. he looks up at her as she slowly repeats the action, grunting at the feeling of her cunt around him. she looked good like this, situated over him, desperately trying to both make him feel good, as well as to chase the newly-realized sensation she was also experiencing. wanting to return the favor, he grabs the bottoms of her thighs, easing her effort and pulling and pushing her with just that bit of fervor that forced him deeper inside her. she could feel him brushing against something that was making her twitch, her head falling back at the sensation as she tries to muffle her moans with one of her hands. unable to comprehend the feeling alongside moving her thighs, she slows her pace, but he didn't.
he pulls her to be situated with her face over his, hands more tightly clutching his shoulders, before he begins thrusting up into her with the newfound space. he keenly watches her face fall into a shocked pleasure, a loud moan falling from her lips at the newfound intensity and speed.
"oh my god - baby - fuck -" she's mumbling into the small space between them, desperately trying to explain how good he was making her feel, but the words escaped her, as her mind blanked at the sensation. it's spurring his thrusts on - moving that much faster, that much harder to make her fucked out nature more pronounced. it worked, as evidenced by her loud noises - ones she couldn't even think about trying to keep contained when he was making her feel like this. she can feel the feeling in her core begin to yearn for some sort of release, and she attempts to communicate this to him. it's not a great explanation, but it's more than enough for him.
"please - god, please, cum for me, baby - i want-" he wants to feel her orgasm as much as she does - anticipating the way her body would still, her face would contort, and her cunt would feel around him. she nods desperately, feeling the knot snap as the sensation of her orgasm washes over her, making her cry out over him.
he watches her, and it's as pretty as he thought it'd be: her mouth falling open and brows furrowing, her muscles tensing, and her cunt fluttering around his cock.
the feeling prompts his own orgasm as, after a few thrusts, he's pulling out of her, his cum glazing her stomach as a low groan escapes him. she gently sits back against his thighs, taking a moment to collect herself and catch her breath, as he does the same.
finally, she pushes off of him, reaching the bathroom to take a shower. he follows her after a moment, gently placing a kiss to her head.
"that was - was good." she hums in agreement, letting the water run behind them.
they both failed to realize the acoustics of the area, not realizing that the noises of their coupling had reached some of the others - maybe most notably, minho.
he sits, red faced, eyes wide. when gally notices his expression, he laughs.
"see what i mean?"

Hello hey can you do some fluff with Thomas ? 🥰please
when they are talking in the safe heaven they was mutual pinning for them since the glade. She was all ways there for him and vice versa. They are a balancing personality. She was pessimistic and he was optimistic. But they have matching energy: one day he make a stupid joke and she says «  why I’m in love with you remind me «  but she didn’t mean to, and Thomas was surprised because they were in love it was obvious and didn’t stop teasing her for it.
Ps : Newt and Teresa are alive
i believe in newt and teresa being alive

There is no such thing as winning over Y/N. That’s one of the very first lessons Thomas learned upon entering the Glade, along with the other crucial ones such as ‘don’t pick a fight with Gally,’ and ‘for goodness’ sake, Greenie, stop trying to go in the Maze.’ Still, he’s not inclined to give up yet. On any of those topics, actually.
Thomas is not prone to surrender. He is a fighter, always has been. Or, he’d like to say that, if he had any idea what he ‘always has been’ in his life. There is Thomas now, Thomas when he first came up in the Box, and then a great expanse of nothingness before and after that. Blank emptiness is his past, unknowable odds his future. There is only Thomas in the present moment, so capable of changing his future that he doesn’t even know his past.
The nothingness makes it easier to remember the lessons. He has so few concrete memories in his head that the day-to-day events stand out in bright highlighter neon. Thomas can remember the sensation of a pen but never what brand he liked best nor what he might have written with it. Thomas does not know if he has ever worked in a garden growing up, but he knows what seeds can become and that he hates being a Track-Hoe, so he focuses on the last bit instead.
It makes him lie awake at night, spending hours staring up at a sky utterly foreign to him in the hopes of remembering any more of it. The constellation over his nose could have been his favorite, once upon a time, it could have been taught to him by a mother or father, but now it is just a broad handful of stars somewhere beyond his reach.
With so little to fill his head except fear and paranoia of the day before, Thomas is forced to conjure up something better worth his imagination, and more often than not, that happy thing becomes Y/N. Y/N is probably what Thomas will become sooner or later, once the initial rush of finding himself in the Glade wears off and he just grows sick of everything in sight.
Y/N has been here longer than most everyone here. The only rivals she has in terms of tenure would be Alby or the dead boys lying in a grave somewhere in the Deadheads. All that time stuck in these stone walls, and it taught her the importance of never getting your hopes up. Thomas met her the first time and thought that he might make it his goal to get her to smile.
He reached that after a few days, but that didn’t stop him from trying again and again. So what if Y/N is a realist who’s given up on dreaming of a way to get out of here, Thomas has enough heart for both of them and he’ll wield it just the same. Thomas sidles up to her at meals and tells terrible jokes until she has to sip at her water to hide a smile. He listens to her talk about everything that goes wrong in the Glade and intersperses recollections of what went well that day as well.
Slowly, surely, Thomas swears that she’s coming over to his side. He can win her friendship like a battle, a round of cards, anything he can make his own with enough dumb luck and a good few twists of fate. He’s come closer than anyone else, so that surely should count for something, right?
Thomas knows he’s getting there when the other kids start intervening. Minho takes it upon himself to tell Thomas that this whole thing is a lost cause. Been there, done that, Minho says one day while they’re out mapping a sector of the Glade, you’re going to have to give up eventually, and you know that. Y/N doesn’t want to suddenly become an optimist. It’s not going to happen.
I don’t want her to suddenly become an optimist, Thomas argues back, I just want her to like being around me even if I’m one.
Later that day, while they were taking one of their few much-needed breaks, Thomas had dared to ask Minho more in between desperate sips of water.
You knew her at the start, didn’t you? What was she like? He’d prompted.
Minho had sighed, stared at the water in his hands. She was like you. I never thought she’d give up on the hope that we’d get of here, and then she did.
Thomas had pushed for more details on just what had happened to change Y/N’s mind, but he hadn’t been able to get any additional facts out of Minho other than a recollection of several Gladers lost without any monumental change in their slow slog towards getting answers out of the Maze.
Mainly, though, what had done Y/N in was time. She’s spent three years here now, three years without any sign that they’ll ever leave. Fine, then, Thomas decides. If Y/N can’t see a world in which they ever get out of here, he’ll forge a new one just to make her eyes light up again.
He’s good on his word, too. When Thomas finds the way out, when their entire way of life goes awry and Gally tries to exert his control over the Glade, Thomas fights his way out with his friends. He shows Y/N the door out of the Maze, and he takes her through it.
Thomas doesn’t think he’ll ever be able to forget the look on her face when they step out into the sunlight for the first time. The sun was still there in the Glade, obviously, but it isn’t the same when you can feel the shadows of the Maze walls on your back with every other breath. Out there in the real world, though, that was something else altogether.
It was good, even when they were fighting for their lives in the Scorch. They spent their days terrified of Crank activity, but when the sun sank beneath the horizon and they were finally able to rest in whatever meager shelter that crossed their path, Thomas looked at Y/N and he knew that her hope was back. It was enough to make him keep fighting for a better life. It was enough to make him feel infallible.
And they did it, didn’t they? They found their way out. Thomas is reminiscing about old, worse times from his hut in the Safe Haven, far away from harm. Cranks cannot reach them here, nor WICKED, nor anyone else. He is here with his friends and Y/N, and he could not want for anyone else.
The final fights were the worst of Thomas’ life. He lost allies, but he saved some, too. Thomas doesn’t know that he’ll ever experience a fear quite like the one ricocheting through his chest when Newt was bitten. For a few horrific minutes there, Thomas had thought that he might lose him, the one friend he’d had from the very start.
Minho had made it back in time with the cure, though, and then Newt was blinking up at him with shocked eyes and asking what had happened. Thomas hadn’t been able to answer him, not for a while. He remembers standing there, clutching Y/N for support, knowing that without her there he might have collapsed to the ground by Newt’s side.
That was Y/N for him, Thomas supposes. Whenever he was low, she was high. They complemented each other perfectly. He held out hope when she couldn’t, and when he was in danger of losing himself, Y/N pulled him back from the brink. Survival does horrible things to us all, but sometimes it gives you salvation in the form of people. Y/N is his people. Y/N is all he has ever needed.
Y/N was the one Thomas was thinking about when he was fleeing Janson through a burning city. Y/N was the name on his mind when Thomas caught Teresa just before the roof caved in. When the explosion hit him too hard and Thomas passed out on the Berg carrying them away, her face was the last one that flashed through his head.
It is all okay, though. They have lived through the horrors, the desolation, the grief. All that is left for them now is a quiet sort of ending, an epilogue in which the heroes win and the villains are forgotten. Thomas rises with the sun and goes to bed with the moon, and slowly, carefully, he heals.
They do that together, too. Thomas hands over leadership duties of the new settlement to the others; he wants no part of that now, no forced maturity of any kind, and he runs away to the one person who will always want him now. It’s funny, looking back on the Glade, how Thomas had always operated with this slight fear that Y/N was just humoring him because they were both stuck in the same place. He knows now for a fact that was never the case.
She’s told him as much, both directly and through the little things. He picks a wildflower out of surprise that such a colorful thing could idly grow on the side of the road and she tucks it behind her ear for the rest of the day. He wakes with nightmares and she holds him until the dreams become just that, just dreams, just memories which can no longer touch him.
Thomas thinks for the first time that growing old sounds like something that he can finally ignore. In the Glade and Scorch, the thought of making it to infirmity was something of a dream, an impossibility he would never reach. Right now, though, Thomas wants all the time he can get his hands on. He’s desperate for it, greedy and drunk on every moment. He loves the little things. He is enchanted by the big events. All of it is his, and all of it is beautiful.
He finds Y/N in the mornings, the evenings, the afternoons. They walk until their feet ache and sleep until the sun has climbed far too high in the sky, laugh and cry and live. It is nothing like what he thought growing up would be like, but then again, he never thought he’d make it far enough to judge. Right now, he is happy.
Very happy. He turns to Y/N as they’re sitting by the edge of the water and tells some sort of stupid joke. He’s been prone to them recently, like some inner comedian has suddenly remembered it exists and dusted itself off for its fair share in his personality. Maybe the Thomas before the Maze liked being funny. He’s never had enough time to figure out who that was at all.
Thomas waits for Y/N to say what she usually says in response to his attempts at being funny:  laugh along, maybe, or swat him on the shoulder, or come up with an even better joke just to make fun of him.
Instead, she rolls her eyes fondly. “That was awful.”
“Great,” Thomas corrects, “I think you mean it was great.”
“I certainly do not,” she says, smiling, “Remind me again why I love you?”
It’s late in the evening, maybe she’s tired, maybe that’s why she slips up and says something like that. Neither of them have been willing in any way to put a name on what they have or what they feel, but it occurs to Thomas that he wants that label more than anything he’s ever wanted before.
Y/N’s face looks tight, as if the skin has been yanked up on her bones to expose the skeleton beneath. She starts talking about something else quickly, the words tumbling out in an attempt to hide what had been said before. It doesn’t matter, though, Thomas knows what he heard and he adores it.
“I love you too,” he says. He feels like shouting it.
Y/N stares at him. “What?”
“I love you,” he answers her. “I love you. And you totally knew that, by the way. You’ve known that all along, so you do not get to just pretend like that didn’t happen. I know what you said. Also, I want it remembered from here on out that you said ‘I love you first.’”
Y/N gives him a look, but she can’t stop her lips from twisting up into a grin, so even her fiercest glares can’t weather him in the slightest. “Why does the order of who said what first even matter?”
“Who knows?” Thomas says, shrugging as casually as he can, “Probably that you’re just, you know, obsessed with me or something. I wouldn’t blame you.”
This time Y/N does swat him, but she kisses him too, so Thomas supposes she could be forgiven. He already has. He’d do it in a heartbeat, even if she was stabbing him through the chest instead of toying with him. He loves her. He loves her, and he won’t do anything else but that.

hello anon!! i'm happy you like those!! i think that newt is the type of person that treats their s/o gentle !! i hope you like this:))))
Newt who can't keep his hands to himself when you're both cuddling. Newt who would pull you into his chest with your back against him so he can kiss your neck. Newt who would put his arm around your waist just to touch you. Newt who would be crazy and rambles whenever he sees you wear his shirts to cuddle or sleep (and when you ask him why, he says "you look hot- i mean beautiful, wait i didn't mean it like your not hot, cause you are hot, i mean- your hot- wait that's not the point- but you look bloody amazing with my shirt"). Newt who can't sleep without you in his arms. Newt who would be very clingy and glued to you when both of you are alone (he's starved for your attention and affection). Newt who doesn't have a 'favourite cuddle position' but he loves it so much when you rest your head on his chest and just lay there. Newt who runs his fingers through your hair and leave a bunch of kisses all over your face whenever he gets the chance. Newt who sometimes wander his hands underneath your shirt (with consent of course) and he just trace circles all over your skin. Newt who sometimes would just lay in your arms tiredly because he’s exhaused from doing all work, helping around the glade, and having many meetings with Alby and the runners(he's a busy man). Newt who would smell a little more earthy when you guys are cuddling before shower. Newt who prefers to cuddle after shower because he thinks you'll like him more if he smells 'sweet like a candy' when you're both cuddling (he used your soap and shampoo because he said it made him "smell like sweets and vanilla" lol ). Newt who would sleep with you with hardly any space between each other. Newt who loves it when you bury your face in his neck and when you play with his hair. Newt who will always pull you back onto the bed and back into his arms if you try to leave or stop cuddling. ("Newt we have to get up! Alby will be mad at us-" "2 more minutes, please love? i'm sure Alby will be fine without me" "Newt, you said that 20 minutes ago."). Newt who doesn't mind being a big spoon or the little spoon when you're both cuddling. Newt who likes it when his arms are securely around your waist & his face in your hair when he's being the big spoon. Newt's arms will be the place you wake up every morning. Newt who would ask if he can play with your hair every time you're both cuddling (he wants to make sure you're giving him consent even tho you've reassured him that he doesn't need to ask that). Newt who would randomly compliment you when your almost asleep ("your so beautiful. like really bloody beautiful, love"). Newt who would sometimes talk in his sleeps because he gets nightmares when he's cuddling you ("please stay, please. don't go. stay with me." "i'm not going anywhere love"). Newt who would easily get sleepy when you run your hands through his hair. Newt who would fall asleep on top of you, then wakes up only to ask if you're okay, if he made you uncomfortable, and why didn’t you wake him up in his raspy sleepy voice. Newt who would have a staring contest with you and then make stupid faces so you laugh and he wins the contest (later on he tease you about it). Newt who would stay up with you and just have deep conversations as you both cuddle when you can't sleep ("why do people has to lose the person they love first, to realize they're bloody value and worth? doesn't make sense, what do you think?").
I GOT SO CARRIED AWAY MAKING THIS, IT TURNED OUT SO LONGGGG. I'M SORRY IF THIS IS TOO LONG FOR YOU

The world felt as if it were spinning- no coming to a complete stop. Time felt as if it wasn't a thing. You stood there like a complete idiot with a knife to your throat as you looked at the man you had come to love other the past three years. Millions of thoughts were coming to your head as everyone around you was yelling, you couldn't hear a word anyone was saying all you could hear were the thoughts running trough your head.
Did he even love you? If he did, wouldn't he give anything to be with you, give anything to have a normal life with you outside of this damn Glade. You knew the reasons for this, he was scared, so scared that everything else was blurred and blocked out. His feelings for you didn't feel as strong when the fear was much stronger. And at this moment you wanted to hate him, you wanted to yell and scream at him to just listen to everyone. Listen to you. But he wouldn't and everyone including yourself knew this.
Your eyes were filled with tears, your heart was going so fast you thought it would rip out of your chest completely and you felt as if the world was ending. You didn't think you'd ever feel so bad in your life, the feeling was far worse than fear, it was far worse than the many panic attacks you've had over the years, it was much worse than millions of stabs, you'd even prefer the stabs, you'd prefer the panic attacks. For anything was better than this.
The moment his eyes connected with yours you knew you would never see him again, you knew he was gone, he was already a dead man. And even the thought of leaving him behind made you want to throw up. The thought of begging him to come with you came across your mind many times but you knew better than to beg a dead man to leave his graveyard.
His hard eyes softened when he saw the pain in your eyes, he knew you wanted to go with them, he knew you wanted him to go with you, he knew it all. But he couldn't see past that damn fear.
"Let her go," His voice came out soft, softer than anything you've ever heard coming from his lips. Your eyes didn't leave his, not even when you felt the knife slowly drop from your throat. And before you could stop yourself you ran up to Gally, your shaking hands grabbing his neck and pulling his face down to meet yours.
His lips collided with yours and he didn't stop you, instead he dropped his knife and pulled you in closer, kissing you back with so much passion you thought that maybe this would change his mind, you thought for sure he loved you. But this kiss was a goodbye and you both knew this.
You gripped his hair tighter, going onto your toes to get more acses to him making his grip on your waist tight, so tight it hurt, but you didn't care. The hurt was nothing compared to what you felt in your heart. You wanted nothing more than to be in his arms for the rest of your life, and if you would've known that the last time you'd ever see him smile or laugh was that night you wouldn't have ever looked away.
You pulled away from him, your head leaning on his as he gazed into your eyes. Neither of you said anything, for you both already knew what the other wanted to say. You knew you'd never find another like Gally, and you never wanted to ever try to find someone to replace him. He was the one for you, and now. Now you had to leave him here to die. You were in a nightmare and you were just waiting until the morning came so that you could run back into his arms and everything would be fine again. But that was just a dream at this point. A dream you'd never be able to reach.
You felt cold the second you stepped away from his warm embrace. It took everything in you to keep on moving forward, you didn't even dare to look back. You felt a warm hard on your back right as you rejoined the group of teenagers leaving the Glade.
"It'll be okay," Newt whispered as he wiped your wet face.
The rest of it all came in a blur, you barely remember anything from running in the maze to running from Grievers. And soon you were in a room with dead bodies scattered all over, most due to gun shots. You remembered a video and then your world crashed and crumbed right in front of your eyes.
You remember screams and cries, all coming from you. You remember being pulled away from the only dead body you never wanted to see dead, you remember feeling numb. You remember his face, his eyes. They looked as cold and empty as you felt.
~~~
As the months went on you wished you had never left the Glade in the first place, for the world was nothing any of you expected, it was dark, and dead. Everywhere you looked you saw more and more death, you saw how survival was all anyone ever thought about anymore, your small group seemed to be the only ones who cared about friendship and loyalty.
You were surprised you lasted as long as you did without dying, or without getting the flare but in all honesty it was due to your group, you all saved each other over and over, never leaving anyone behind. So when Minho got captured each and everyone of you wanted to go back fro him, and thats exactly what you did.
You got shoved to the side by Newt as a truck passes by, yours eyes follow it when you see there were about five men sat on top all wearing masks. You start to feel a little uneasy when one of the men doesn't look away from you, his head moving to the side as the truck moves further along the road.
You snap your head back to Newt when he starts walking forward, your eyes roam around, seeing so many people in one spot was rare nowadays and you knew this wouldn't end well, WIKD would never allow it get like this and soon they would put a stop to it.
You saw how Thomas walked ahead of all of you, ignoring Jorge when he tried to stop him, you knew this wasn't the best way to get Minho back but none of you had a better plan so you kept on walking, ignoring the strange feeling in your chest that told you something bad was going to happen.
You looked behind you only to see that same man who you saw on the truck, his eyes were covered by the mask so you didn't know weather or not he was even looking at you, but either or it didn't feel right. Something about him made you feel uneasy, maybe it was his height, he towered over everyone it seemed like, and he had a really good build. He was intimating, and the mask made it worse.
Newt seemed to see this too, he pointed another one out to you, and this made the both of you move faster towards the rest of your group. And before you even realized you were all running again with bombs crashing into the ground all around you.
As you were running you saw someone behind you, you didn't think much of it for everyone was trying to get out before being killed but than you felt strong arms warp around your waist and before you could get out of their grasp they pulled you up.
You screamed and tried hitting the man but he was far too strong. Your wide and worried eyes searched for your friends but you didn't see them anywhere, making fear creep into your body. You turned your head to see it was the same masked man you saw on the truck, his eyes were looking stright ahead and before you knew it you were shoved into a van, hitting the floor with a grunt.
You quickly moved to the back wall when the man got in with you. You looked at them with fear laced in your eyes, there were about three men all in masks and just staring at you. Your breath was coming in and out fast, you looked around trying to see if there was a way out but you knew if you tried they would probably shot you dead.
You jumped when the door slid open but relaxed a little when they threw Thomas in. He was yelling at the man but his yells came to deaf ears when the man shut the door in his face, he turned around, his eyes finding your causing him to relax a little.
You both jerked when the Van started moving, and you tried your best to not freak out. What if they were with Wicked? All kinds of horrible thoughts came to mind but they all vanished when the Van stoped.
Thomas tried to fight off the men when they grabbed him and pulled him out. But due to his fighting they just threw him to the ground. You on the other hand, got out of the van by yourself, your eyes glaring daggers at the man who reached to get you out. But by the look you gave him, he backed away from you.
You ripped your gaze off his, the further you walked the more men you saw, all wearing masks, all carrying weapons, all looking like they could kill you without a single thought, or a single care. Thankfully you saw everyone you came here with, but they were all standing in front of the men, this could very well be your end. And Minho would rot in wicked for who knows how long.
Your heart picked up in pace when a man started talking, his voice was deep but it sounded way too familiar. He was the same man you've been seeing since you got in the city, there was something different about him, but you didn't know what exactly it was.
You could feel Thomas getting impatient the more the man spoke. You cursed to yourself when he finally had enough, pushing the man who was behind him and stepping forward. "What do you mean same side! Who the hell are you?"
Everyone went dead silent, and you could feel yourself holding your breath, waiting for the man to give some kind of reaction, a reaction none of you wanted. But he was quiet for far too long. You furrowed your brows when he turned his head, grabbing his mask with his free hand and pulling it over his head. He looked at the ground for maybe 5 second before turning his head to you all.
Your heart dropped to the ground, the air around you felt thick, and you could feel yourself having trouble breathing. Tears came to your eyes in an instant and every sound around you turned off, all you could hear was a faint buzzing and your pounding heart in your chest.
His eyes connected with yours so fast you thought you had gotten whiplash, you could feel everyones eyes on you, not just Gally's and it was making you feel suffocated. You didn't know what to do, or what to feel. You wanted to cry, yell and scream all at the same time, you wanted to run into his arms and hug him until you died but at the same time you wanted to hit him over and over again for the way he hurt you, and make you leave without him.
But before you could even take a step Thomas lunged forward, hitting Gally straight in the face, hard. So hard Gally fell to the ground with Thomas right on top of him. You wanted to move, run towards them and stop Thomas from hurting him but you couldn't move, no matter how hard you tried too.
Thankfully Newt did it for you, running towards the two boys, he fell beside Thomas, grabbing his hand, stopping him from going further. You could see their lips moving but you didn't know what they were saying, you felt as if you were in a dream, floating out of your body, it didn't feel real. Nothing felt real.
Thomas got off him fast, but you could see he was dripping with anger, anger you were slowly starting to feel. Gally got up and off the ground, moving his jaw with his hand before he eyes you again. His gaze softened, his voice dropped in pitch and he looked almost scared.
"Y/N?" Everyone turned to you again, but you didn't even see anyone, all you could see was red as you looked at the boy who was supposed to love you enough to leave with you. But he was a coward then he defiantly was one now.
And before you could stop yourself you moved forward, it all happened so fast as you grabbed the gun for the man behind you, he tried to stop you but you kicked him in the crouch casuing him to fall to the ground.
With the gun in your hands and adrenaline coursing through your veins, you tightened your grip on the firearm, your knuckles white with tension as moved towards Gally who didn't move from where he stood before. He held his head high, his eyes becoming glazed, but he clenched his jaw waiting for you to do what you wanted.
You could hear yelling from everyone behind you, but it was too late. Without a moment's hesitation, you swung the gun with precision, striking him hard across the temple with the back of the weapon. A sickening thud resonated through the air as the force of the blow sent him reeling backward. His eyes widened in shock, then dulled with pain as he crumpled to the floor.
The room fell silent, save for the heavy breaths echoing in the aftermath of the swift blow. You stood over him, chest heaving. The weight of what you had just done settled upon your shoulders, but you pushed it aside, the anger still seeping in your veins when he looked up at you, his nose bleeding.
You didn't know what was going on around you but whatever it was it died down when Gally raised his hand, telling them it was okay. His breathing came in and out harshly, his eyes connected with yours and the same softness still visible.
"You piece of shit," You breathed out, your voice dripping with hurt and rage. "You shouldn't have come back," Tears filled your vision as you remembered what he did, and how he made you feel. You had woken up screaming and crying because of him, and thinking you saw him die right in your arms. But he wasn't dead, and it was messing with your head, he was messing with your head.
"I'm so sorry Y/N," You let out a small cry at the sound of his voice, or the way your name rolled off his tongue. You didn't think you would ever hear him say your name again, and it caused your heart to physically hurt. Your breathing was getting faster and faster the more you let yourself feel the pain, you felt yourself give in slowly.
Tears slipped down your cheeks and you took a step away from him, dropping the gun on the ground in front of you. Gally didn't even waist a second, his eyes connecting with yours as he got up and off the ground, and making his way towards your form.
You gasped when he grabbed you and pulled you into his warm arms. And as he wrapped his arms around you, he could feel you trembling against him, your body shaking with the weight of all the emotions coursing through you. He held you close, his embrace a shelter from the storm of doubt and fear that had plagued you both during your time apart.
Your arms wound tightly around his neck, fingers clutching at the fabric of his uniform as if afraid he might slip away once more. He could feel the dampness of your tears soaking into his shirt.
In that moment, nothing else mattered. Not the passing of time, nor the trials you had faced while you were apart. All that mattered in this moment was the warmth of your bodies pressed together, the rhythm of your hearts beating as one.
And as you held each other, lost in the sweet embrace of reunion, the world faded away around you, leaving only the echo of your love reverberating through the empty spaces between you. It was a moment frozen in time, a testament to the enduring power of your connection, and a promise of the future you would build together, one tender embrace at a time.
You and Newt were inseparable in the Glade. You did nearly everything together, following each other around, finding comfort in one another. It changed once you escaped the maze, however.
Even though you shared a room in your new home inside a lab, it didn't help whatsoever. After that first warm shower, everything between you two just changed.
You were never able to have lunch with your friends, always being pulled away for more and more testing. You'd seen Newt following Thomas around like a lost dog.
Between all the stress and physical deterioration, you didn't have time to talk or share thoughts with him anymore. He seemed to think the same way as you basically ignored each other as the days passed. Everything seemed to be a problem now, even though no words were spoken, only looks, or for that matter, the lack of them.
Upon finding out that WCKD was never gone in the first place, you quickly join the escape with your new friend Aris, crawling around through the vents at dark. The escape was quick and calculated, and nearly ended in death, probably a solid fourteen times. But, your group escaped to the dark, sandy scorch outside.
Bergs fly overhead, lights shining onto the sand in search of you. You all ran through the rough terrain as fast as you could and hid behind a large area of hills, waiting for them to retreat, hoping they wouldn't find you.
Unluckily, you slid down next to Newt, not a glance shared between you two. You instead looked over at Aris and Thomas to your right, making sure they were both in one piece.
The long, painful hike through the scorch continued, Newt behind Thomas and Teresa while you were behind those three, then Minho and Fry. Winston and Aris were behind you, symmetrically separating you and Newt.
The night passes, hours and hours of walking and sweat fatiguing you.
You stumble upon a mall, building up your outfits and learning some more about the Cranks that flooded the scorch. Your fight through the mall was intense and still really God damn awkward as you found yourself helping Newt up off the floor after being tripped, nearly left for dead for the Cranks.
You sprint behind the group, catching up as Thomas leads you to the exit.
Once the adrenaline wore off, it was back to the exhausting trudging through the sand.
You kept your distance with Newt, especially after Winston had fallen ill to the Flare Virus. You'd both known Winston for most of the time you could remember about your lives. The pain after hearing the lonely gunshot in the distance stopped you all in your tracks before continuing some moments later.
The days were far too long for the group of teenagers. Why you were all bundled up in a desert was beyond you, but you'd take listening to the others rather than dying because you didn't cover up. No one knew who was actually immune or not, so it wouldn't be worth it to try and test it out.
Tumblr media
You'd taken refuge under some rocks in a little flatland area in the desert once it hit dark. You'd barely spoken in the past few days, malnourished and exhausted. You, Aris, Fry, and Newt are the stragglers left awake, baking cans of beans over the fire while also tending to it, making sure the others got some warmth as they slept.
As the hours passed, Fry and Aris fell asleep, cuddling up in the heavy clothing they found extra warmth in. Who knew a desert would be freezing once the sun had set? Obviously not you, since most of any important memory ever had been wiped, but yknow.
That left you and Newt awake, sitting a few feet away from each other, an awkward silence among you. You tap your fingers on the sand beneath you, then graze them around in little patterns, unable to find yourself tired even if you wanted to. You were exhausted tired, not sleepy tired, sadly.
The blonde surprisingly speaks up.
"Thanks for saving my ass in the mall"
You glance over at him, then look back down at the sand beneath your fingertips. You nod. "Yeah, anytime"
He slowly nods, looking out at the empty miles of sand and dirt surrounding you in all directions. "Is something wrong between us?" He asks, "You haven't been talking to me at all, and you've always got this intimidating look on your face when I look over at you, so I mean, I didn't wanna bother you, ya know?"
You shrug in response. "I mean, it started back at that lab. They were always testing on me and I was just tired, but once we escaped I kinda thought you were trying to ignore me. I dunno, sorry if I read that wrong"
His expression morphs to one of sadness and guilt before wrapping you in a hug, pulling you closer to him.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to ignore you, Y/n"
You lightly smile, wrapping your arms around him. "Sorry for kind of being a bitch about it"
"Look, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. We did kind of escape the maze, then WCKD after being tricked, and we've been running through this bloody desert for days. I don't blame you. If anything, I'll blame Rat-Man for burning you out with testing in that lab. " The dirty blonde smiles, patting your back.
"Oh, thank you, Newt. How could I ever repay you?" You chuckle, pulling away from the hug as he does.
He shrugs, a devious yet smug smirk on his face. "You could repay me in water?"
"My cantine has been empty since this morning!"
"Damnit"
Hello, Bottom (Newt x Reader)
Another high school AU where Y/n always calls Newt “bottom” due to his locker that’s below hers. One day, after years of pining and fretfulness, he finds confidence from deep within and sasses back.
“Hey, bottom.” You comment, rifling through your locker.
Newt huffs and rolls his eyes. You laugh as he slams his locker door. “God, I hate that you call me that.”
“Well, you are, aren’t you? You have the bottom locker.”
Newt stands and leans against the wall. “I always enjoy these conversations of ours. Gives me something to look forward to in between classes.”
“Glad I could be of such service.”
Meanwhile, Thomas and Minho stand by the wall, waiting for Newt to finish with his things.
“It’s nice he’s talking to her.” Minho shrugs. “Remember the two years he couldn’t say a word so it was just awkward silence whenever he had to squat down beneath her?”
“Yeah,” Thomas chuckles, “that was funny. But I would’ve thought he’d have the guts to ask her out by now.”
“It’s Newt.” Minho counters. “He’s like, the most passive person ever. He overthinks everything. What if she says no?” He mimics Newt in a bad rendition of a British accent, “What if she doesn’t like me back? Then it’ll just be awkward and she’ll hate me and it’ll be so embarrassing!”
“Okay,” Thomas says, “but Y/n’s gotta like him back. Who else makes funny sexual innuendos at their locker neighbor? I just ignore mine.”
“True.”
Newt walked over to his friends, an odd pep in his step. “Hey guys,” he chirps, “what’s up?”
“The sky.” Thomas says while Minho, at the same time adds, “Not your relationship with Y/n.” Thomas lets out a loud laugh and high- fives Minho.
Newt huffs and rolls his eyes. “Bug off.”
“She’s friends with Sonya.” Thomas offers, “Can’t you just ask your sister?”
“No!” Newt shudders at the thought. “That would be too embarrassing.”
“But then you would have a definitive answer.”
“I guess,” Newt sighs.
“Well I don’t know much about girls,” Thomas says, “but why don’t you just ask her out? You guys already talk a lot; it’s just the next step.”
“Ugh! You don’t understand.” Newt whines, clearly frustrated. “I like her too much to put our friendship on the line.”
“Friendship?” Thomas frowns. “What friendship? You guys are just locker buddies.”
“We have History together!”
“Do you guys talk in History?”
Newt groans then admits, “Sometimes. Not all the time… but sometimes.”
“Just try to be more confident next time.”
“I’ll try.”
**
“Hello bottom!” You greets.
Newt lifts an eyebrow, Minho’s words coming back to him. A shot of confidence races through him. “I can assure you, I am not a bottom.”
Your mouth falls open and you can’t think of a retaliation. Slowly, you shut your locker and look down at the boy who is smirking up at you.
“Pardon?”
Newt chuckles and stands heart- beatingly close to you. “You heard me.”
“It’s a busy hallway. Please repeat it.”
“I said,” Newt breathes, “I am most certainly not a bottom.”
You took a deep breath. “Anyway to prove it?”
“How about I take you out Friday night and I’ll show you?”
“I have been waiting so long for you to ask that.”
“Really?” Newt blinks, taken aback.
“Yeah.” You smile, “You’re really fun to hang out with. Not to mention cute.”
Newt smiles back, blushing slightly. He glances down at his feet before looking up and meeting your gaze. “I’ve had a crush on you for over three years.”
“Are you kidding me?” Your mouth falls open. “I’ve liked you for three years! Why didn’t we go on a date sooner?”
“I… have no idea.”
“Well, I gotta get to class.” You say, “I’ll see you Friday?”
“Yeah. I’ll see you Friday.” Newt grins.
“Okay.”
“Okay.”
After a moment of standing still, not wanting to leave Newt, you reluctantly step away. “Bye.” You wave to him, joining your friends as you head off to class.
Newt floats over to Thomas and Minho, the latter who says, “You idiot! I told you she liked you!”
“Yeah, you were right.” Newt’s lovesick smile never faded. “She likes me.”
Your head was hurting, your ears were ringing, the loud sound of mechanics happening around you wasn't helping. You slowly opened your eyes, taking the time to look around you. It seemed to be like an elevator filled with supplies, food and even animals.
Suddenly, the motion stopped in a loud thump before a red light started to flicker. You started to panic a bit, you were lost and couldn't tell how you arrived here. Above you, the ceilings opened and you thought you'd maybe have answers to your questions.
The sudden sunlight blinded you and you had to cover your face with your hands. You took a minute to analyse what was happening, people were chatting and it seemed like they were surprised to find you here. Your eyes were finally adapting to the light and you were able to discover the faces of the boys above you. You raised your eyebrow, surprised to find them wearing these types of clothes you never saw anyone wear anymore. You were even more surprised to find yourself wearing the same ones.
A man shouted, making you jump in surprise, and everybody stopped talking before a blond boy went down into what you heard was "The Box". You swore you heard this noun before. "Hi," the sandy-haired boy greeted you, holding out his hand for you to take. "Can you remember your name?" he asked with a quiet voice, it seemed like he was trying not to scare you.
Your eyes widened when you heard what he said, maybe you never heard of The Box, maybe you read about it. You took a time to observe the blonde boy. "What is your name?" you asked back.
It couldn't be true, it didn't make any sense. "Newt." Your mouth fell agape as you heard his name. Was it possible to teleport into a book? You looked more carefully at the boy and recognized all the descriptions you used to read about. You thought you were dreaming and pinched your arm to make sure you were truly awake. You felt the pain. It was genuinely happening.
After a minute you realised Newt was still holding his hand out for you and you finally grabbed it. When you were on your feet you took the time to look around you and saw four huge walls enclosing the square of grass you were standing on. "Welcome to the-"
"Glade..." you finished Newt sentence with a smile on your lips. The gardener shared a horrified look with who you recognized as Alby. The later asked Newt to bring you out of The Box.
Finally by everybody's side, you were contemplating the Glade, trying to find everything you read about. But before you were able to see more you felt someone grabbing your arm. "How do you know where you are?" Ably asked you. "What's your name? Why are you a girl?" he continued his questions more and more aggressively, visibly panicked.
"Um... it's a little complicated," you saw Newt making a weird face when you spoke.
"What's that accent?" he asked. He would be smiling if you weren't standing there when you shouldn't be. That's the thing. Being able to read in English was something, being able to talk without an accent was another.
"French," you said shyly. You were grateful they could still understand you but you felt a little dumb, standing there, in the middle of boys who either seemed like it was the first time they saw a girl- well it was actually- or like they wanted to directly throw you in the Pit without thinking about who you were.
"Do you know why you're here?" Newt asked and you shook your head. You loved the maze runner universe but it wasn't the best one Destiny had chosen to put you in. Your survival skills weren't the best they had seen.
The tall boy you reckon must be Gally talked, pulling you out of your thoughts. "That's not what matters Newt! How do you know where you are? Everybody forgets what they know when they come here!"
"I know," you said quietly, timid under Gally's gaze. It was legitimate to be freaked out by your weird arrival here. But the thing was you didn't know how you came here. You knew who they were, you even knew their future, this thought sent a wave of questions in your mind but it wasn't the moment. The last thing you remembered was reading a book. You dug into your mind to find an answer. Everybody around you was waiting for you to talk and you felt intimated.
Apparently, Newt could feel it because he sent everybody- except the Keepers- back to their work. The boys walked you to the Council Hall, they all seemed lost in their own thoughts. You awkwardly took a seat in front of everybody and bent your head down, even if you knew them you couldn't help but feel shy as they all watched you attentively. Alby finally started to talk. "First question. What's your name?"
"Y/n," you said, trying your best to hide your French accent, it wasn't the moment to lose credibility, you needed to be trusted.
 "How much do you know about here?"
"A lot."
"How is that possible?"
"Um..." there was no way there were going to believe you, you didn't even believe your own words as you spoke. "Well- I don't know exactly how I came here but..." you tried your best to search every bit of information your brain held. "It will sound crazy, but... I-in my world you don't exist." The boys in front of you looked septical at your explanation for the moment. "I know you all but from books. In my world, the maze, the Glade, WICKED and all of you are just ink on paper." You shut your eyes, refusing to look at them for the moment, you were afraid that their faces would tell you they were going to abandon you in the Maze. "B-but I don't know exactly how I came here, what kind of magic bought me here but now that I am there, I may know the way out."
This caught everybody's attention and while you thought it was going to be an argument for you to stay and not be killed, it seemed like they feared your even more. "Really?" Alby asked.
"Yes," you said. "In my world, your universe has six books and right now you are in the first one," you took a deep breath, omitting the explanation with the sequels and novellas, this part was going to be complicated to explain. "You guys escape at the end of the first book. I read it multiple times, I think I can help you get out of here."
They didn't answer anything before Minho talked "How do I know if what you're saying is true?"
"Ask me questions."
"How are we getting out of here?"
"We can't until they decide we will. WICKED modify the sections every day. In the books, they escape when a guy named Thomas and a girl named Theresa arrive here but they have a special link with WICKED." You went on and on about everything you remembered, Ben's attack, Minho's night in the Maze, the doors staying open at night. You hesitated on talking about Gally's being stung and decided that there was already too much information.
They carefully listened to you, something asking you to repeat because of your French accent or demanding you to explain further some points. You didn't know for how long you talked but your throat was sore and you terribly needed to drink "Can I have water?" you waited for them to calm down and stop talking before asking your question.
Frypan left the room to grab you a glass and other Keepers decided to finally leave the room. It was just you and Newt now. "Are you okay?" he asked, he genuinely sound like he cared and your heart missed a beat and you nodded. "I think you already know everything but- do you want to discover the Glade?"
You nodded, this time with a smile on your lips, you couldn't believe Newt was standing in front of you. He was a character you loved and cared about so much, it seemed unreal.
You just had the time to receive your glass of water before you started your visit. Newt still took the time to explain everything as he would do with any greenie. Quickly the night fell and you knew what was waiting for you. The bonfire.
The idea made you smile and you started to think about Gally's drink, was the taste as horrible as you read about? You didn't have to think a lot because you rapidly found yourself with a jar between your hands. "C'mon Greenie," Newt said with a tipsy smile, "Drink."
When the beverage touched your tongue you tried your best not to spill it everywhere. It truly tasted disgusting. "What's inside?"
"Ah! They don't tell you in the books?" Newt smirked and you shook your head. "Then I won't tell anything. It's not like I know anyway." With your back against a log, you gathered your legs to your chest, resting your head on your knees. You breathe happily.
You couldn't express the way you felt but it was a peaceful moment. The sound of Gladers having fun, of the fire and the burning wood. Newt's laughter. He was the best part of all this.
He was making you feel comfortable, you weren't nervous at the idea of recreating what you read when you were by his side. You had to admit you had to resist the urge to just hug him. He deserved a hug so much.
"Newt?" The boy turned his head to look down at you.
 "Yeah?"
"You know in all the books I've read about all of you? You're my favourite character." You hoped you didn't sound weird but judging by the way his smile soften you were almost sure he was flattered by what you just said.
"Why?"
You felt warmth winning your cheek "Well, I think you're brave. I only know you from books but- after everything you've been through you're still kind to everyone." You unconsciously looked at his limp. You continued to talk about the comfort he bought you before your smile faded "You always try your best and- and I think you deserve a happy ever after. The best happy ever after." You felt your heart clenching in your chest as you thought about the ending he had.
Newt was looking at you with a gentle smile, touched by your words. It was a weird feeling to have a stranger understand you so much. You knew what your goal was now. It wasn't just to escape and join the Safe Heaven. You were going to save Newt.
I Was Pregnant (newt)
Summary: Y/n tells Newt she used to be pregnant but WCKD found out while she was being held captive
Warnings: miscarriage, angst, language, weapons, PTSD (think that’s it)
Word Count: 1.0k
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRbCBaye/ (based off this tiktok)
Tumblr media
“No! No!” You screamed, thrashing under the nurse’s hold. “Don’t do this!” You pleaded.
You had no clue how long you had been pregnant for but WCKD believed it was early enough to get rid of it.
“Newt will kill you!”
“Shut her up.” Janson said.
One of the nurses grabbed a sedative and you thrashed harder in the other nurse's hold.
“No! Minho! Help me!” You yelled as they injected you, sending your body limp and unconscious.
Meanwhile Newt, Thomas, Brenda, Harriet, Vince and Jorge were all planning an escape for you, Minho, Aris, and Sonya.
“They will be transported by train to the last city in 3 months. We can hijack a burg and pick up the box with them in it.”
“Thomas, we're supposed to be moving forward not backwards.” Vince stated. “We’re gonna run out of time.”
He walked over to Vince so he could talk slightly quieter. “Y/n needs Newt and Newts needs Y/n. He cries himself to sleep every night. He needs her.” He explained quietly enough so Newt couldn’t hear.
“Let’s get on with it!” Newt yelled, bringing them back to the meeting. “I’d like to have a solid plan to save Minho and Y/n.”
“Right.” Thomas said, sitting back down around the table.
~
You woke up in one of the hospital beds, the white walls and sheets practically blinding you.
You were sore and aching and you knew what had happened as soon as you saw the puddle of blood in your bed. You wanted to cry but nothing came out so you screamed. Loud enough to get the whole facility's attention.
But unfortunately only Janson entered the room.
“You bastard! How could you do this to me?” You sobbed. “You deserve to die!”
“Aww is someone sad? Poor Newtie. How’s he gonna feel when you were bearing his child and you got rid of it?” He mocked.
“He will kill you. And if he doesn't, all the rest of them will. I can promise you that.”
“I’ll count on it.” He said sarcastically walking out of the room leaving you alone once again.
~
It was finally the day Newt was coming to save you.
“Let’s get a move on!” Newt yelled hoping in the truck with Fry, Harriet and Vince.
Newt was eager to save you. Like Thomas said he did cry every night. It was stressful having to go through the flare by himself.
“Coming!” Thomas yelled, hopping in the back with Harriet so he could help load all of the guns.
~
All the while you were getting loaded onto the train with Aris, and Sonya. “Do you know where we’re going?” You sat down next to both of them.
“No clue. I’m so sorry about your baby.” She changed the subject.
“I-It’s fine can we just move on?” You refused to cry. You felt as though it rewarded WCKD. They loved when the subjects cried.
“Sure.” She hugged you as best she could with the chains around her wrists.
A couple WCKD guards came into the cart to count you once or twice and then left you alone.
You and Sonya had fallen asleep rather quickly, But you were awoken to a loud thud and screaming.
“Y/n! Minho?” You heard Newt yell.
“Newt! Newt!” You screamed. “Newt!” You screamed until you couldn’t anymore. And then you saw sparks around the door. Someone was coming to save you.
You sat there heart racing waiting for the door to be knocked down. You were ready to see the culprit and you hoped to God it was Newt.
Please, please, please. You wished in your head. Then the door was knocked down and you were met by Newt and Thomas.
“Newt!” You exclaimed. He ran over to you and wrapped his arms around you. “Newt.” You sobbed.
“It’s okay I’m here we’re gonna get you out of here.” He pets your hair.
“Thank you. Thank you.” You repeated so grateful that they came to save you.
“I have to help Thomas now okay? I’ll be back I promise.” He gave you a quick peck on your head and then ran off with the dark haired boy.
“They came back.” You turned to Sonya and Aris. “They came back.” You repeated almost in shock.
“Yes Y/n he came back for you.” She comforted you.
“No but what happens when Newt finds out about the baby?” Tears threatened to fall.
“It’ll be okay Y/n I promise. He will still love you. He loves you so much and there’s still time.”
“Thank you Sonya.”
~
Once everyone had gotten back to the right arm they quickly realized Minho wasn’t in the same cart as you, Sonya, and Aris. Which meant they would eventually have to go back for him but for now you just sat comforted by your favorite people.
You sat in silence for the most part except for the occasional ‘are you okays’ and ‘I love yous’ from Newt.
You were reluctant to tell him about the baby but you gained enough courage and strength to pull him into the other room and tell him.
You sat down in one of the chairs while he pulled a chair right next to you.
“Newt there’s something I need to tell you.” You sighed hoping he would understand.
“What is it, love?”
“Well…” A couple tears rolled down your face.
“Woah sweat heart? What happened?” He kneeled in front of you.
“While I was in WCKD… I was pregnant.” He gasped, causing you to stop. “But Janson found out before you saved us and ‘got rid of it’”
“No… this can’t be happening. No, no.” He cried.
“I’m sorry. I-I there was nothing I could do. T-they held me down. T-they put me to slee-…”
“I’ll kill them.” Newt interrupted.
“W-what?” Of course you had told Janson that but you didn’t think Newt would want the same thing.
“I’ll. Kill. Him.” He grabbed your hands. “I’m so sorry they did that to you. Considering how hard it is to find out my child was taken away from me it’s got to be at least 3 times worse for you. I’m so sorry Y/n.”
“I-I love you Newt.” He stood up.
“I love you too Y/n.” You stood up with him and kissed him passionately.
“I won’t ever let anyone hurt you ever again.” He hugged you.
The Scorch Trials (2010 novel - James Dashner, 2015 film - Wes Ball)
Word count: 1914
Summary: you know that party scene from the scorch trials movie? Yeah. That.
Content: intoxication, a party (and the stuff that usually entails), smut (obviously), porn with like a sketchy outline of a plot that's kinda hinted at, handjobs, cowgirl, hickeys, unsafe sex (yikes)
The music of the party carried you through the crowd, sweating, stinking, gyrating bodies pressed against yours on either side. Whatever you’d been given at the door had a bitter aftertaste, and the burn still ached gently in your throat. Everything was so loud, you could barely think. You turned to say so to Brenda, but where she had been by your side just moments before was now simply a wall of flailing limbs and swaying hips, stamping feet and giddy smiles. Thomas was ahead of you, his hand tight on your arm.
“Stay together,” he’d said before you’d passed through the curtain. You and Brenda had both nodded, of course, but now there was no sign of the other girl. Panic stirred you momentarily. You were in a strange place, with strange people, on the run in a world that either hated or coveted you, your stomach heavy with what very may well be poison. It was far from an ideal situation.
“Thomas!” you shouted over the noise. “Thomas!”
“Huh?” he turned, confused. He looked… dazed, unsure. It may have been the heat of the room, the huge mass of humanity surging around, the pungent smell of whatever liquor and drugs were being used combined with the sweat of tens – probably hundreds, but you were starting to feel a little odd yourself.
“Brenda,” you said slowly. “She’s not…”
Thomas’s gaze flicked over your shoulder, scanning the room briefly before alighting on your face once more. His hand had shifted to your own, his grip much gentler now. The light was playing tricks with his eyes, making them shine like liquid gold. It was mesmerising, watching the colours shift and move over his skin like the crowd around you. “She’s…” he started, but trailed off.
Who was he talking about? What were you looking for? You knew you had to find something, that you’d come here for a reason, but now the colours had wrapped you warmly in their soft embrace and were carrying you into the crowd, where your body was theirs and your mind was at one with the sway of the music. You could feel the rhythm of it in your bones, every note and beat and chord vibrating through your very cells.
“Thomas,” you said softly, your own hands running over his chest almost of their own volition. He looked otherworldly, swaying gently before you, eyes closed and mouth slightly open. His eyes snapped open and he looked at you, hazy and dazed but peaceful. God, it was the first time you’d seen him look peaceful in a long time.
“(Y/N),” he whispered back, his own hands sliding up your sides and coming to rest on your hips, pulling you into his swaying dance. You stepped closer, almost chest-to-chest with him, your bodies moving in perfect tandem with the music. The energy of the room washed over you with every wave of sound.
Thomas was so close, his dark eyes boring into yours, heat radiating from his skin onto your own. He moved with such easy grace, every shift of his form perfectly aligned with yours, not a single fibre out of place. Yet his motion was free and unrestricted, relaxed and natural in the way that water flowing over a river bed is. And like a tributary feeding into the larger whole, your movements matched his as you let him guide you, bumping gently against him every now and then, each time sending a jolt of sparks through you. You wanted to touch him, wanted to erase every inch of space between the two of you. And judging by the way he was holding you closer against him, running his hands over you and looking at you so intensely you imagined there was a physical tunnel of attention between your eyes and his, he felt the same.
Eventually, inevitably, there came a point where he was so close that you could literally feel his skin breathing. You could feel the press of the cloud of electrons in your atoms repelling the electrons in his, feel every tiny change in the currents of air between you. And then even that gap was gone, and his lips were against yours, his hands in your hair, his torso pushing against you. It was a kiss, but it wasn’t. It was much more than that, because you kissed him with your whole body and your whole mind. All you were was in this union, this touch, and all he was was being poured right back at you.
“Fuck,” he murmured against your lips. “Fuck, (Y/N).”
“I want you,” you breathed. If possible, his eyes grew even darker.
“I want you,” he echoed, still barely an inch from your lips. In an unspoken agreement, the two of you slid through the crowd to a curtain in the wall, never breaking contact, barely ever more than a few inches apart. The room beyond the curtain was as dim as the outside, the colours more red and pink than gold due to a crimson curtain strung over what you assumed was a window and a purplish-pink glass lamp standing in a corner. The music was dimmer here, but only slightly. The bass still pounded in time with your own heartbeat and Thomas’s. No sooner than you were inside, he was kissing you again, his hands roaming your face and neck. He had large hands, you observed, one was enough to cover your whole cheek and most of your neck.
You slid your jacket back over your shoulders, wanting nothing more than his skin on yours. In no time his shirt was off, followed by your own, and he was pulling you backwards with him onto a couch in the corner. It was made of something soft, maybe velvet, and had arms that were perfect for you to grip as you straddled Thomas’s lap. He was resting against one such arm, peppering your neck with kisses, the occasional nibble. You could feel him stop to concentrate on one spot every so often, no doubt leaving a trail of dark marks over your skin. No matter.
“Thomas,” you sighed softly as his fingers found your bra clip, fumbled momentarily, then slid the garment off you. He brushed over your breasts, leaving goosebumps and hardened nipples behind. Your fingers tangled in his hair. His skin was warm, slightly sweaty, and so soft where it brushed your own. You touched his face, his neck, his shoulders, his back, his chest, down to his stomach where you stopped.
“Keep going,” he said, his voice raw with want. “Please.”
If you weren’t turned on before, you were now. You made quick work of his zipper, and you spat into your palms before taking his already hard cock in your hands. It was hot to the touch, and fit perfectly into your grip. Throughout it all, his eyes never left your face, but they fluttered closed as you gently moved your hand. “Like that?” you asked, your mind still slightly hazy.
“Yes,” Thomas moaned. The sound and sight of him like this probably could have made you cum right there. Again, his mouth found your skin, fastening on to the spot where your shoulder met your neck. You continued to massage his cock with one hand, the other sliding around his back and into his hair, holding him close against you. His breath was coming fast, punctuated with tiny gasps and moans of pleasure. “Wait,” he said suddenly.
You hesitated, your hands not leaving him, but ceasing their movement. Even through the haze in your mind, you didn’t want to overstep whatever boundaries existed between you – if any. “What’s wrong?” you asked.
“I want to feel you,” he murmured, his hands flitting to the fastenings on your pants. “Please.”
You nodded, the words sending a bolt of heat through you to pool between your legs. Thomas’s deft fingers made quick work of your pants, and you kicked them off just as hastily, followed by your underwear. His kisses had migrated from your neck to your chest, tracing a path between your breasts. You moved your hips over his length, sighing at the hint of friction it created. God, you wanted him so badly.
Thomas’s head tipped back as you ground against him, his fingers digging into your waist, your hips, as he tried to guide your movements. “(Y/N).” The way he said your name, he might have been speaking an incantation.
 You reached between your legs, rubbing tiny circles over your swollen clit, feeling the wetness gathered there. The heat of Thomas’s dick pressed against your centre, adding to your own, and finally – finally – you lined him up at your entrance and, at his nod, lowered yourself onto his length. A sigh escaped you as he filled you, and you were tempted to just stay there forever. But the desire for friction, for movement was stronger.
“God, Thomas,” you gasped as you rolled your hips over his, his fingers still tight on your skin. He was perfect, warm and real and firm and locked in reverie with you as the music from outside your sanctuary pulsed in time with the beating of your hearts.
Thomas was looking at you now, studying every line of your body, every inch of your face, as though he wanted to etch you into his memory. And maybe he did, you certainly wanted to capture the moment forever. It wasn’t dissimilar to dancing, how you’d been so in sync the lines between your two bodies had begun to blur until they were erased, and you were here.
The sensation built in your stomach, and you forced yourself to keep your rhythm even as your mind told you to go faster, to break your steady stride and run, sprint towards the finish line. Thomas was holding you so close to him he may as well have been trying to absorb your body into his, his sweat and spit mixing where his face was pressed into your shoulder as he frantically delivered more hickeys to your skin. You would be covered in them come morning.  He whispered your name, every syllable like a prayer as it fell from his lips. He twitched inside you, and you shivered involuntarily.
“Yes,” you hissed, reaching down once more to touch yourself. Thomas spilled with a curse inside you, his head falling back and his eyes closed. Fuck, he was gorgeous, and you’d brought him undone.
Your own climax flooded through you, all your muscles tensing together at once, a shuddering, desperate cry of “Thomas” torn from your throat. You rode him through your combined pleasure, until your legs were no longer shaking and his breathing had evened out. Yet still, neither of you moved.
Thomas rested his forehead against your chest, his arms circling your waist. You held him, his hair tickling your face and neck where it brushed against you. He gently kissed over the dark marks he’d left on your skin, soothing and warm.
You weren’t sure when, but at some point he pulled you down to lie half on top of, half beside him on the couch. You sighed at the emptiness when his cock slipped from inside you, but his skin was warm against yours and his breathing was deep and even, soothing. Your eyes drifted closed, the music from the party just beyond the reaches of your consciousness carrying you into a drugged, hazy sleep.
'boyfriend checkup' - thomas
Being sick is terrible, isn’t it? From the second you felt the first threads of the cold start to clog your throat and nose, you knew it was all over. Mentally, you signed your death certificate: Y/N L/N, passed away today, gone from the most horrific cough known to man. That’s how it felt, at least, yet you’re still expected to get up and act as if nothing was the matter. Those kids with tuberculosis in the Victorian age who got to lie around in bed all day while their parents treated them like royalty didn’t know how good they had it.
Thankfully, you have at least a couple of days to feel better before you really have to be productive. You started feeling poorly on a Friday, barely managing to stumble through class before heading home as quickly as you could. Not wanting to complain and spoil the good mood of everyone excited about their weekend plans, you had tried to tell as few people as possible. Specifically, you hadn’t told your boyfriend, Thomas, but now you’re missing him more than ever.
It’s not like you’re intentionally trying to keep things from him, you just don’t want him giving up whatever fun things he was supposed to do this weekend so he could hover over you. You love your boyfriend more than anything, honestly, but when it took you so long to admit your feelings for him because you were certain he would never like you back, small things like this make it even easier to talk yourself out of thinking he’ll want to know about it. Thomas is the varsity cross country athlete, the popular one. He loves you, and he’ll tell you that as many times as it takes so you believe it, but some part of you will always wonder why.
That’s why you haven’t told him, not yet, although you have a feeling that he’ll find out sooner or later. Your adoptive sister, Brenda, is best friends with Thomas’ twin, Teresa, and they trade gossip like no one you’ve ever seen before. Both of them have repeatedly assured you that Thomas is head over heels for you, but what if he’s not quite infatuated enough to want to drop his weekend plans to take care of an invalid?
As the cold progresses, though, you start to wish that you had bothered him anyway. You’ve shut yourself up in your bedroom with all the lights off, just lying there and reminiscing about the golden days when your nose had worked as it was supposed to. You had taken so much for granted, and now you’re afflicted with a truly terrible fate indeed.
You’re miserable even on a Saturday, which is how you know things have truly taken a turn for the worst. Not even the weekend, the blessed release from work, can lift your spirits. Your best friend Newt was the only one who knew that you were going through it, and he’d made you promise to call him the second you started feeling better so he could plan a friend group movie night or something. Newt’s always the one on top of stuff like that. You doubt any of you could accomplish anything without his work behind the scenes to keep you all organized. He holds all of you together and keeps anyone from straying too far.
You had hoped that Newt would forget that you were feeling down, but it’s half past noon when your phone buzzes with an incoming call from the blond boy. You briefly consider just letting it go to voicemail, but that would alarm him even more than if you admitted that you still aren’t feeling your best.
You end up giving yourself a second or two to put on your best fake smile before answering the call. Thankfully, Newt had elected to go for just a talk over the phone instead of FaceTime, so you only have to disguise your voice and not your expression, too.
Newt’s voice rings over your phone. “What’s up, Y/N? How’re you doing today?”
You’ve never planned on a career as an actress, but when you answer Newt as happily as you can, you start to consider it. You sound chipper and excited, surprising even yourself. “Doing fine, Newt. How about yourself?”
Maybe this is actually doable. Maybe you might be able to convince your friend that you’re fine so he doesn’t do something terrible like try to get involved. Right now, you just want to be left alone to wallow in your dark room until you’re physically forced out of it.
Newt clicks his tongue in disapproval, sending a rush of static crackling over the phone. “Y/N, are you being honest with me?”
You start to sputter in surprise. Hadn’t your ruse been perfect? “What? Of course I am!”
Newt lets out a sarcastic laugh. “Sure thing. We’ve been friends for years, I know when you’re lying. You want to let me know how you’re really feeling?”
“Really, I’m great,” you eke out. “You’re being paranoid, Newt.”
“Am I?” He asks.
“No,” you admit. “I’m still miserable. My head is killing me, and I haven’t left my bed for more than a couple of minutes all day.”
Newt sighs. “That’s what I was worried about. Is there anything I can do? Maybe rally the group to swing by your house to cheer you up?”
“No, honestly. I don’t want to do anything. Hopefully I’ll get better soon, but until then, I don’t want any crowds around.” You tell him.
Newt pauses for a moment, thinking, then asks, “What about just one person?”
You frown. “Are you offering? I thought you were busy all day.”
“I am,” Newt clarifies, “But Thomas isn’t.”
You go silent. Newt, always the perceptive one, sighs again. “You haven’t told him that you’ve been feeling under the weather, have you?”
“No,” you admit, “but I didn’t want to bother him, that’s all. There’s nothing Thomas can do about this. I don’t want him to worry about something out of his control. He’s already got enough on his plate already, you know that as well as I do.”
Although this conversation is happening over the phone, you can picture Newt’s look of disappointed consternation anyway. “No, he would be furious with me if you were sick and I didn’t tell him. I’m letting him know immediately.”
“Newt, don’t you dare,” you admonish.
He just chuckles. “Too late. Texting him now. With any luck he’ll be over within the hour.”
“You’ve betrayed my trust. You’re a terrible friend,” you admonish him, but only half heartedly.
Newt laughs openly. “No, I’m a fantastic friend and you know it. Did I not use everything in me to get the two of you together?”
You giggle in spite of yourself. “You did indeed. I remember you bringing that up many times.”
“As I deserve,” Newt grumbles. “The two of you fought me all the way despite supposedly wanting this. He had better make you happy now, I’m not ruining all of my hard work for a bad cold.”
You smile. “Thanks, Newt. I’m very glad that you suffered so much for us.”
“You had better be,” he says, but he’s laughing when he hangs up.
Seconds later, you get a text from Thomas: On my way ASAP. Might be breaking the speed limit.
You grin and text him back. Don’t get pulled over.
Never, he answers, and he’s true to his word, a knock sounding on your front door about five minutes later. The rest of your family is out of the house, so you have no problems creeping down the hall to unlock the door and let him in.
Thomas swoops in immediately, pressing a kiss to the top of your head before pulling away so he can get a good look at you. “How are you feeling, Y/N? Dizzy? Feverish? You look alright, if a little tired, but let’s get you back in bed at once.”
You laugh. “I’m not dying of the plague, Thomas. I’ll survive standing up for a few more seconds.”
“Yeah, but you shouldn’t have to,” he says. Pausing briefly to leave his shoes at the door, Thomas proves his point by picking you up in bridal style and carrying you back to your room despite your protests, which are admittedly pretty halfhearted.
Once Thomas has gotten you back in bed again, found a glass somewhere to bring you water, insisted on watching you drink all of it, run back downstairs so he could fill it again, and returned, he perches on the side of your bed, gently squeezing your hand.
“Well, Doctor Thomas?” You ask teasingly. “What’s your diagnosis?”
He grins and plays along. “Not terrible. I recommend bed rest, and maybe also letting your boyfriend know when he needs to take care of you.”
This last bit is delivered with increasing passion, and you’re left sheepishly smiling at him. “Alright, maybe I should have told you in the first place, but I just didn’t want you to worry.”
“Worrying is my job,” Thomas says, “I am excellent at it. Also, if I think you’re not telling me when you need extra love, I’ll worry even more than usual. The only way to keep me from worrying is to let me know when you’re sick or hurt. Deal?”
“Deal,” you agree, and smile when he kisses your cheek.
“You should get some rest,” Thomas urges you. “Here, I’ll close the door so the noise from downstairs doesn’t bother you.”
He moves to stand, but you reach for his hand and he freezes at once. “Stay with me?” You ask hopefully.
“Of course,” he smiles, and, careful not to disturb you, climbs into bed next to you, lying down on top of your blankets to keep his street clothes off of the mattress. You curl into him, letting your eyes shut as the steady beat of his heart lulls you to sleep. Once you wake up, you’ll feel better, and be more open to conversation, but for now, both of you are quite content with the silence. Peace is good for both of you.
I won.
Newt x Reader (TMZ)
summary - Newt and you had a argument, and now he's ignoring you.
Tumblr media
The sun was beating hard on your skin and sweat trailed down your forehead. You stopped digging the soil with your shovel and look up, scanning around the glade for a certain blonde haired boy.
Newt.
Your eyes finally catch sight of him, his blonde sandy hair ruffled as the sun beamed at his hair, making his hair shine like gold and his shirt covered in mud.
He stood alone, picking some strawberries. You could tell from the way he pick the strawberries that he was still upset about the argument you had earlier.
You decided to take the opportunity to speak to him privately, away from the Gladers.
You put your shovel down, ditching your gardening duties and walk to Newt's direction.
As you approach him, he glances to see who it is, once he realizes it's you, he stops and turns himself around and stared at you long in the eyes.
he broke eye contact without a word as he looks at you up and down with his dark chocolate brown eyes which longed to be with you again.
He returns his gaze back to the strawberries and wipes his sweat of his forehead with his hand, not saying anything to you as if you weren't there.
"Feeling a little hot, Newt?"
You say jokingly and lean your back on the tree less than a meter away from him. He tries his best to concentrate on picking the strawberries.
"I'll shower later" he answered.
He kept his gaze at the ground, not wanting to look at you.
still sulking.
"can i help?" you asked him
instead of answering your question, he accidentally picked the strawberries too hard, making the stems break and fall.
You knew he would give up if you keep on doing this a little more.
so you did. you take a few steps closer to him.
Newt side glance at you a few times, watching every of your movement and clenches his jaw, resisting the longing feeling, wanting to talk to you, kiss you and touch you which weighed heavy on his shoulders.
"why don't you take a break? you've been picking strawberries all day" you try to reason out.
"No, Frypan wants the strawberries ready today to make strawberries jam"
"I'm sure the strawberries can wait for a little newtie" You say encouraging him.
He stops picking the strawberries and sighed. Newt finally answered your question, pretending to sound uninterested.
"y/n, please not now, I'm busy" looking at you with his deep brown eyes.
but you ignore him and walked closer to him until he can feel your breathe on him.
Your hand snakes it's way to his shoulder and you pulled him closer to you, and whispered in his ear.
"please newt, i want to talk to you" you both looked into each other's eyes, holding eye contact.
his eyes widened and he swallowed hard as he broke eye contact, refusing to look you in the eye.
Silence hanged in the air and for the first time in minutes he had made eye contact with you again.
His face was so stern for the next few seconds and then he suddenly sighed.
he finally gave in.
"You're right, the strawberries can wait" He smiled a little at you as he brush his thumb to your cheek and pulled you closer to him.
what happened next was a blur, he was on you in a second. Lips connected with yours as he backed you up into the tree you were leaning on earlier.
You had won.
evemore - T
evermore masterlist | closure | its time to go
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: mentions of death, ptsd, mental health issues, kissing, blood, violence mentions
Summary: you loved the safe haven but you could never truly get over the events that allowed you to get here and the people you lost along the way.
Wordcount: 1.1k
Tumblr media
It had been three months since you and Thomas had arrived at the safe haven. It was a cold gray November and you were used to the sunny landscape of the maze and this was different. The winds were blowing cold in yours and Thomas’ shared hut and you sat on the bed, blanket wrapped around your figure.
You two had met after you had escaped from your maze, the two of you meeting at the facility before mourning through the scorch together.
You don’t know how you would have survived without Thomas, if he hadn’t demanded that you didn't follow Janson then you would have been drained of blood and you wouldn’t be here right now.
He had fallen for you first when you grabbed a bomb when WICKED infiltrated the rebel base. He had stood by your side then and he had stood by you ever since.
You’d both been through hardships that no other 18 year old would have gone through, you’d lost countless friends, those you had considered as family. Every day you wondered what you could have done to save Chuck, or Teresa, or Newt. There must have been something you could do. You would replay your footsteps every time, trying to find out what went wrong.
You both drove yourselves crazy with the what ifs, the only thing that grounded you was each other. So whenever you’d have a nightmare or he would, you would be there for each other. Unconditionally.
You took a deep breath, staring at the poor excuse of a window in your hut - they were still working on manufacturing glass - as the wind swept through.
As the cold drove itself into your bones, you wondered if maybe the cold feeling would kill you too. It was a constant fear, they'd already lost a few people to minor accidents: a bacterial infection, a broken leg, and drowning. It was always difficult to bury people, especially when their bodies don’t come back.
Thomas walked in when you were drowning in your own thoughts, holding plywood to cover up the window to stop the draft. He placed it down and instantly sat down next to you, knowing that something was up.
“What’s wrong?” He asked, arm wrapped around you and when you didnt answer he sighed, already knowing the answer, “Just one of those days?”
You nodded, leaning your head against his shoulder, “Guess I just can’t remember what I’m fighting for sometimes,” you said, sniffling because of the cold.
Thomas nodded his head. He knew how it felt to lose people as well and you two were going on this journey together. He had days where he was emotionally exhausted as well and you just had to be there for one another.
You would constantly rewind the tape back to that moment where you ran into the courtyard in the last city, seeing Newt lying on the floor, blood in his mouth and a knife jabbed into his chest, his eyes open and at peace.
You’d go back to that moment where time slowed as Rachel fell to the ground, gunshots echoing through the maze and the holes beginning to fill her body, her blood pouring out like a sif. She hadn’t even had time to comprehend it before WICKED were pulling her out, promising that they were ‘saving her’.
You’d go back to the moment where Teresa didn't make it. You wish you’d been there for her and Thomas but you were on that ship, pulling Thomas’ bloodied and bruised body into your arms. The sobs had escaped your mouth before you even realised and before you knew it the building was collapsing and Teresa fell with it.
You’d go back to that moment when you were walking through the scorch and the gunshot echoed through the deserted land. You had turned back to see Winston's body falling in the distance, like he didn't even mean a thing.
“Hey,” he said and his soft voice pulled you out of your thoughts that you were drowning in, “We’re fighting for us, for this life that the safe haven has promised,”
You sighed, your voice shaky, “But what about everyone else. They’re not coming back and they don’t get to experience this,” you explained, lifting your head off of his shoulder to look at him.
He looked at you and sighed, reaching a hand forward and placing it on your cheek, watching as you leant into the warmth, “It’s never going to go away and we both know this, that gnawing feeling in your chest that makes you feel like you’re drowning,” Thomas explained, leaning in to press a kiss to your lips, “But its going to be okay because I’ve got you,”
You couldn’t not think about the cost of it all but for now you just had to pause it and live in the moment. You knew you couldn’t spend the rest of your life dwelling on whether or not you can save them. You just had to let go eventually.
“I guess so,” you said.
Thomas nodded, “And the safe haven is better. Vince is going to look for more of the immune soon and we’ll have more people. And there’s already been so much progress, a marriage, two pregnancies. It’s going to get better,” he said.
You knew that you could count on his reassuring words because even though you were struggling, he was too and you would always be there for him when he had days like this, days where he just wanted to lie in bed and hold you close.
And whenever you were worried, you thought about him. About the way that he would savage you no matter what it meant and it was enough to get you through the days. It had gotten you through the scorch and then the rebellion and now your escape into the safe haven.
“They’d be happy for us wouldn’t they,” you said.
He chuckled lightly and smiled, “Yeah, and you know what baby, theyd want us to be happy,” he said and you nodded at his sentiment.
Thomas stood up, reaching a hand out for you and you stood up, the floors of the the hut creaking out from under your step, “Just let me hold you,” he said and you smiled, allowing him to pull you in for a hug, “I love you,”
“I love you too,” you said, your words muffled against his chest.
You sighed as you allowed yourself to melt into his warm embrace. You knew that the feeling was never going to go away but maybe, just maybe, the pain wouldn’t be for evermore because you had each other.
NEWT ; the night we met
summary ; newt is new to the glade & you're there when he regains his name
warnings ; language, alcohol, very pre-thomas era (about three or four years)
word count ; 1.3k
masterlist
Tumblr media
Newt, with his arrival to the glade in the box, was a frightened little Greenie. He was merely fourteen years old, about 5"7, with dirty blonde hair just barely hiding his eyes. He seemed awestruck, as usual Greenies were, and obviously scared and confused.
Alby sadly didn't have any answers for him, many, at that. He just had the rundown of the Glade to give him and the rules and to introduce him to the other Gladers out and about. He wouldn't be able to introduce him to you or Minho, seeing as you were both running the maze right now.
The second the poor boy heard the word maze, he nearly had a panic attack. It was like something in the back of his brain had been triggered, reminding him of something he couldn't remember.
But as the cool, green forest faded into an orange-y warm fire, the sun set above, leading you and Minho back to the Glade to join the monthly Greenie bonfire. There was work to be done, tasking you with business before you could join.
The fifteen year old Minho begged you to hurry up, but you had to map out a new section of the maze. There was no fooling around for you at the moment. So, he leaves without you, curiosity stabbing him as he jogs back into the main Glade, away from the Deadheads.
You, finally, were able to join around eleven or so, the moon nearly centered in the dark sky above.
You had a cup of Gally's secret juice in your hand as you rest your back against a tree, a nice view of both the fire and the little fight-circle. You take your time to enjoy the peace and intoxicate yourself, ridding yourself of any worries.
You lay your eyes on the new Greenie, a light, inviting smile as he looks back at you. He was standing all alone, staring at the fire like he was trying to think long and hard about his past. He joins you, seeing that you were also alone, watching the fire and the other boys talk and have fun.
He sits criss-cross next to you, an awkward little hi slipping from his mouth.
"Know your name yet, Greenie?" You ask him, taking a sip from your cup.
He shakes his head, a slight twinge of sadness twinkling in his eyes.
"Don't worry," You pat him on the shoulder, "You'll get it back soon"
He nods, basking the two of you in a calm silence, listening to the fire crackle and the boys cheering and whooping a few yards away. He speaks up after a few minutes, having been conjuring up a question for you.
"How long have you been here?" He asks, question and curiosity dripping off his tongue.
You shrug, "Seven months. Same thing every day, all day. It's nice after a while, I guess."
He nods, watching Gally and Alec tussle and shove each other around the fight circle. He looks down at the mason jar in your hand, seeing you cringe as you feel the sour taste hit your tastebuds.
"What's that?"
You deviously smile, "Gally's secret concoction." You hold out the glass for him, giving him a look to try it.
He looks between you and the glass jar filled with the dark yellow liquid, seeking approval in your eyes. You nod, silently urging him to try it.
"It's good for the nerves"
He's silent for a moment before he takes it in his hand and takes a quick swig of it. He cringes as he hands the jar back, coughing up a fit as he rubs his mouth with his wrist.
You lightly laugh, watching his dramatic reaction.
"Good for nerves?" He repeats, smacking his lips to try and rid the taste from his mouth. "What is that, bloody hell!"
You giggle, setting the jar down in the grass with a little twist so it'd stay. "Dunno, ask Gally"
"Which one is Gally? Good God" He lightly coughs, "It tastes like piss!"
You stand up, a hand out to help Newt up. "I'll show you around, hm?"
He nods, taking your hand as you walk around the bonfire.
"Y'know Alby and Fry, right?"
He nods.
"Cool. Well, that's Minho, my best friend. He's a runner, as am I. He's Keeper of the Runners, though, very down to Earth and stuff. There's Gally and the other builders. They're strong but dumb." You shrug. "Winston is Keeper of the Slicers. He and that whole crew are wonderful. Zart and Jeff are the Med-Jacks. Go to them if you have a splinter or a cold, they'll help you out"
The blonde nods, following your gaze and finger as you look to and point the others out.
"And those are the Track-Hoes. They're gardeners, very sweet, that's Sam, Keeper of the Track-Hoes" You finish, giving him a warm smile as you look back at him.
He goes silent for a moment, looking dazed and zoned out before you snap him back to reality.
"Greenie? Hey, dude?"
"Newt" His lips curl into a smile, eyes twinkling as he looks at you. "Newt. My name is Newt"
You widely smile and chuckle in excitement, both of you with your hands on each other's shoulders as you bounce around, both buzzed off of the alcohol you'd been served.
"Greenie has a name!" You shout, looking to him for him to shout out his name, the whole Glade looking at you two.
"My name is Newt!" He smiles, looking to you for approval.
In your buzzed state, you convince him to jump on your back as you loop around the large fire, the boys chanting his name.
"Welcome to the Glade, Newton!"
"Newton?"
"It's gotta stand for something!"
The boys continuously chant and holler his name, a smile painting his freckled face. You had all of him now, his kind, friendly and trustworthy personality, his dirty blonde hair, his freckles, and his dorky name.
He felt his brain take a photo of the scene as he looked slightly down at you, a hand on your scalp, the other formed in a fist which he held in the air. From the crackling fire beside him, to the feeling of the warm air against his face, to the boys in a circle watching as you proudly carry him on your shoulders. The smell of the bitter drink passed around the bonfire haunted his nose, and the way you gripped onto his ankles for safety did as well.
After the bonfire, the drunk boys return to the Homestead one by one, leaving you, Minho, Newt, and most of the builders by the fire. Minho struck up a conversation with Newt by the fire, sitting on a log together while you sit at the log on the right of them, sipping on Gally's secret drink. You weren't shitfaced but you weren't buzzed either, just the right amount of kind of out of it. You wanted to rid your life of any stress tonight, considering your friend and your new friend, Newt, were getting along and no one had tried to kill each other today, a win in your eyes.
Minho, wanting to embarass you, buzzed, brings up how you requested a guitar from the box and actually received it, although you never touched it afterward because you didn't want to be made fun of. Newt found this interesting and began begging you to play, even just for a minute. He never heard any real, genuine music before, and to experience it from you, his first actual friend would've been a memory he'd remember for a lifetime and more.
You eventually comply, striking a deal that if you play, you wouldn't be singing. You walk back and forth from the fire to the Homestead, retrieving the guitar, re-tuning it on your walk back to the two boys. You sit down again with a dramatic sigh and strum on the strings once to make sure it was properly tuned now.
Newt watches with a smile as you strum away, humming along to the rhythm.
The same rhythm that he could decode one certain phrase from underneath the warm, orange light of the fire, which was now dying out.
Take me back to the night we met.
Stop Possessing My Boyfriend (Newt x Reader)
Requested by my amazing friend @the-bibliophile-public-library!!! Summary: The gang’s car breaks down by an abandoned, haunted mansion. They decide to investigate and in doing so, Newt gets possessed by a ghost hoping to win Y/n’s love and affection as she looks like an old lover. It’s pretty cheesy, but I have a better one being released a bit later. :)
The full moon that always prophesied odd things shone brightly on the car. It bounced off the windows, momentarily blinding the people inside. Thomas felt the engine under him rattle and he cursed.
“What’s wrong, Tom?” From the passenger seat, Teresa looked up from her book.
“Somethings wrong with the engine,” he muttered. Suddenly, the car lurched forward and came to a surprising, complete stop.
Minho let out a scream and yanked out an earbud. “What was that?” He cried.
“Go back to sleep, love.” Newt whispered to Y/n from the very back. He rubbed her back and she laid her head back on his shoulder, awakened by the sudden movement.
“No, no,” Thomas said, “guys, I think something’s wrong.”
“What do you mean?” Newt asked, brows furrowed. His arm tightened around Y/n unconsciously. She hummed and snuggled into him, unaware of the situation.
Thomas said, “I don’t know,” then got out of the car. Teresa frowned and glanced back at her friends. Minho shrugged, a hint of concern in his eyes. Gally, who was sitting next to him, got out as well. Gally and Thomas opened the hood and rummaged around, talking adamantly. Gally eventually pointed at something. Thomas shook his head but Gally looked at him like he was stupid and said something loudly. Thomas countered his point but after Gally shook his head, Thomas ceded. They both got back in the car and Thomas said, “There’s a leak in the radiator. It overheated. We're stuck until we can get a tow- truck.”
“So we’re staying the night here?” Minho started freaking out. “I can’t do my hair in a car!”
“Relax,” Teresa held up a hand, “it looks like there’s a mansion, hotel- looking place up on that hill. Why don’t we go ask the owner where the nearest mechanic is?”
“Can’t we just call someone?” Gally snarked.
Teresa glared at him. “We could also ask to stay the night if need be. I’m sure they have plenty of room.”
“In that creepy- ass mansion?” Thomas asked sarcastically, “Yeah, this isn’t a horror movie at all.”
“Let’s just go see.” Teresa opened her door, deciding for the group.
Newt gently rubbed Y/n’s arm, whispering, “Love, we need to go.”
“But you’re so comfortable!” Y/n whined, still in her sleepy state.
“I know,” he grinned, “but do you wanna sleep in the car?” Y/n hummed, contemplating it. “It’ll be cold,” Newt warned. Reluctantly, Y/n peeled herself off of Newt and crawled out of the car.
Before Teresa could lock the doors, she rummaged around the trunk and pulled out a sweater. “That’s mine!” Newt protested as Y/n tugged it over her head.
“Yeah, that’s why I like it.” Y/n took his hand and the group trouped towards the mysterious mansion. The moon shone brightly, illuminating their way.
The group finally made their way up the hill and to the mansion and forced Gally to knock on it. Eerily, the door swung open after the last resounding knock. It creaked agape with no one beckoning them in. Gally stepped forward to try and see their host, but no one appeared out of the darkness.
“Nope,” Minho swung back around and headed for the car.
Teresa caught his arm and pulled him inside, muttering, “Come here you big pussy.”
“I don’t like this.” Thomas shook his head, but followed after everyone else.
“Ditto,” Y/n agreed.
After the imposing, dark foyer that entered to a grand staircase with obsidian railings and black candles, there was the sitting room with ominous Victorian furniture. Then there was the kitchen with old utensils and facilities and finally, the set up dining room with plates, silk napkins, and shadowing candelabras that connected back into the foyer.
Suddenly, a cold wind swept through the house, slamming the door shut and chilling Y/n to her bones.
“Absolutely not!” Minho shrieked. “I am not about to be a white person in a horror movie.”
“Did anyone else feel that chill?” Y/n asked. Newt looked at her worriedly. Little did they know, someone else was watching as well.
Bob and Carl watched from the bannister of their house. “Intruders.” Carl lazily said.
“No, no,” Bob corrected, “visitors. Look at her!”
“Bob,” Carl sighed, “are you sure she’s the one? She doesn’t look anything like Angie.”
“I’m sure, Carl.” Bob huffed, “Look at the eyes. Angie had eyes just like that.”
“Maybe Angie is just somewhere we can’t find her.” Carl suggested, staring inquisitively at Y/n.
“Not possible. Angie died at the hospital. The curse was only placed on this house, remember?”
“Of course I remember!” Carl cried, “It’s all I have to think about!”
“Shut up,” Bob growled. “That’s Angie.”
“But, new Angie has a boy- toy on her arm.” Carl pointed to Newt. “What are you gonna do about him?”
Bob grinned. “Possess him, of course. How else will I get Angie to stay here forever?”
Carl sighed and floated through the bannister down to the first floor. He slowly walked through the group of humans, eliciting a shiver whenever he brushed up against one of them. Stopping in front of Y/n, he whispered, “I’m sorry. But Bob thinks you look familiar. Your lover boy will be acting a bit differently until you can get Bob to confess who he really is.” Y/n looked around, confused. Was someone talking?
With a loud cackle, Bob flew down from the second floor and collided with Newt. Newt stumbled back and started coughing loudly.
“Newt, are you okay?” Y/n touched his back. “What’s wrong?”
Then, as quickly as it started, the coughing fit ended and Newt straightened back up. “I’m perfectly fine, sweetie.”
Y/n cocked an eyebrow. “Sweetie? That’s a new one.”
Newt blinked before hurridley saying, “Hm. That’s true.” He shrugged. “Oh well.”
“Newtie,” Y/n frowned, “are you sure you’re okay? You seem a little off.”
“I’m wonderful!” Newt cried, hugging Y/n tightly. Y/n patted his back timidly. “Oh, I’ve been wanting a hug for years.”
Y/n carefully extracted herself from the hug. “We were just cuddling in the car?”
Bob, in Newt’s body, quickly backtracked. “Oh, you’re right.”
“Should we stay here for the night?” Teresa asked.
“Are you kidding me?” Minho scoffed. “We are not staying here. We haven’t even met the owner!”
“The door opened for us.” Newt said excitedly, “I’m sure he’s okay with it!”
“What is up with you?” Y/n asked, taking a small step towards Minho. Minho folded his arms.
“Let’s just explore a little bit.” Newt started up the stairs, acting as if he owned the place.
Y/n gripped Minho’s forearm and whispered, “Something’s off with Newt.”
“Yeah, I see it too. It could have to do with this weird house.”
“What? You think there's ghosts in here?” Thomas joked, overhearing their conversation.
Carl said, “Why, yes. There is. In fact, I’m right here. Just, you can’t see me. How dreadful.” Carl rolled his eyes and followed Bob, aka Newt, up the stairs.
The five teens followed Newt as well, starting to peer into the rooms of the second floor. Newt, seeming to know exactly what he was looking for, opened the door to an old bedroom.
“Wow. That’s cool.” Gally commented, taking in the beautifully hand carved bed posts, velvet bedspread, and other wooden furniture.
“I know, right?” Newt said. Teresa glanced at him inquisitively.
“Look at these old books.” Y/n stepped into the room, making Newt smile widely.
“I don’t think those are books,” he said. “I think they’re diaries.”
“You’re right.” Y/n flipped through the dusty, yellowed pages of a diary. “Written by someone named Angie?”
“I don’t think you should be looking at those-” Gally frowned, him and the rest of the group still in the doorway.
“No, it’s perfectly alright.” Newt, too, stepped into the bedroom before quickly slamming the door shut and locking it.
“Newt?” Y/n cried, “What are you doing?!”
“I swear to god Newt,” Minho pounded on the door, “this is not the time to do the deed! Hanky- panky can wait!”
Newt started advancing on Y/n, smiling calmly. Y/n put her hands up and said, “Newt, stop it. This is not the time to joke around.”
“Honey,” Newt purred, “let’s just relax for a second.”
“Honey?” Y/n shook her head. “Newt never calls me that. And he would always respect my wishes to stop! In fact, when we first got together, he always kept asking if what he was doing was okay. I don’t know what’s happening, but I don’t think you’re Newt. I don’t know how, but you’re not Newt.”
“You’re so smart.” Newt caressed her cheek. Y/n had to resist leaning into the familiar touch. She had to remind herself that this wasn’t Newt. “Just like Angie.”
“Angie?” Y/n stepped away and lifted up the diary.
“Oh, yes. You should feel very connected to her.” Newt nodded vigorously, “Because you are her!”
Y/n backed up and started yelling, “Guys! Newt’s creeping me out! I don’t know how, but I don’t think this is my Newt.”
“What do you mean?” Minho shouted.
“Just- get me outta here!” Y/n screamed.
“Hold on!” Thomas cried. Y/n soon heard a dull thump on the door, accompanied by a soft, “ow.”
“Wow, good job Thomas.” Gally's sarcastic reply followed.
“You’re absolutely right.” Newt said, “I’m not Newt. My name is Bob. I used to live here with my wife, Angie. Unfortunately, she died, I soon after. I’ve been looking everywhere for her. Now, I’ve found her! It’s you.” Newt looked ridiculously happy.
Y/n, on the other hand, looked confused. “Are you saying you’re a ghost that’s possessing my boyfriend?”
“Anything can happen on the full moon!” Newt crowed.
“You imbecile!” Y/n punched him in the arm. “Get out of my boyfriend!”
“But you're Angie.” Newt frowned. “You have e/c eyes exactly like her.”
“Lots of people have e/c eyes!” Y/n yelled, frustrated.
“Are you sure Angie’s not possessing you? Or you haven’t been reincarnated?”
“I’m pretty sure I’d know if I was possessed. And even if I was reincarnated, I have a boyfriend. Newt! Why would I want to give him up?” Y/n tried to explain it to Bob, growing more and more desperate.
“I don’t know. I guess I thought you were Angie.” Suddenly, a low howling swoops through the room. “Carl!” Bob exclaimed, “Are you sure?” Another soft cold wind swept through. “Okay.” Bob sighed, “Carl, my friend, said I should exit my host now. I’ll let you and your friends stay here the night, but I would advise you leave in the morning.”
“Yes, please exit Newt. And I think we’ll find someplace else to spend the night. But thank you for the offer, Bob. I hate that you took control of my Newt, but I’m sorry you can’t find Angie.”
“It’s okay. I have Carl.”
Newt then pitched forward, knees hitting the floor, shaking and coughing. Gally yelled out, “Everything okay?” Shuddering wind blew through Y/n and out the door. Miraculously, the door swung open and the group was greeted with the sight of Y/n tightly hugging Newt, who looked disoriented and pale.
“Newtie, are you okay?” Y/n whispered, rubbing his back soothingly.
“Yeah… but what happened?” Newt groaned, holding his head, “I can’t remember anything.”
“It’s hard to explain.” Y/n said, “Let’s just get out of here.”
“Good idea.” Minho agreed. Y/n, helping Newt up, followed everyone out and down the hill and to the car. Teresa called Alby and then a tow- truck, both calls reassuring that they would be there soon. Thomas opened a map and started planning a route. Gally reclined his seat and tried to take a nap. Minho put in his earbuds and started blasting rock music. Y/n held Newt close, the latter laying down on her shoulder and muttering, “What happened?”
“I’ll explain later,” Y/n shushed him, “just get some rest. I love you so much.”
“I love you too.” Y/n laid her head on Newt’s hair. She clutched the boy tight, still rattled after the day’s events. Y/n kissed his forehead, just glad that he was okay and in her arms.
