What’s ur opinion on transmasc Link?

hmm, well I'm sucker for androgynous character appearances and gender ambiguity in general, so whether Link is transmasc, nonbinary, or just a regular dude who happens to looks more feminine... I'm here for all of them haha. perhaps the reason I like the "regular dude" take is because it reverts that stereotype of toxic masculinity, by which straight, cis guys should always be overtly macho. Having said all that, it almost doesn't matter which is canon bc the fandom is here to portray all the different versions that ppl want to see ^^

Currently writing a post-TotK Zelda/Link/Sidon/Yona polyship fic featuring transmasc and unexpectedly pregnant Link struggling with a bunch of guilt, PTSD, distress over having to rely on others, worries about making sure that Zelda is safe without him being able to protect her, having to put himself and his health first for the sake of the little Zoras he's growing, and also navigating all of the political bullshitery between the Zora's Domain and the Queendom of Hyrule because the two societies have vastly different views on polyamory while also maintaining his relationships with Zelda and Sidon amongst the new feelings for Yona coming up all while he's dealing with both the physical and mental hardships of being pregnant

So uh, if anyone is interested that's gonna be coming relatively soon lmao

(Transmasc) Link would (and is going to in the fic I'm writing) struggle so hardcore while pregnant with learning to accept help and put his needs first. It would be for the baby, technically, which is how Link manages to get through it - not constantly throwing himself directly in harm's way when an attack happens, speaking up when he doesn't feel well, turning down requests that would take a lot of physical effort.

It would be hardest early on, when the chance of miscarriage is higher and only himself and his partner(s) know he's pregnant. So people will casually ask him to help them move something or go on some sort of quest and Link has to say no.

Later, once the pregnancy is more obvious and well known, it's not quite as bad if only because not as many people ask favors of him that he can't currently do.

Even then he's going stir crazy and despises how fellow guards will follow him around - not for guidance or direction, but to keep Link safe.

It's a constant crisis for him, feeling weak and defenseless like that.

The struggle is worth it in the end but Link takes as many measures as possible to make sure he never ends up pregnant again because those were the absolute worst months of his life.
