S1 Belos and WAD Belos are pretty much the same person. S2, TTT, and FTF Belos are different though. S1 and WAD Belos are a one dimensional evil emperor villain you love to hate who does the job and it's a blast wanting him to die. S2, TTT, and FTF Belos is a complex, multi layered, abusive and traumatised, hypocritical, and all round goldmine of a character. The main arguments between those who liked Belos' death and those who hated it are between these two groups of fans. One is not superior to the other and it's just about personal preference in the end, but one was definitely more smited by the finale.

Belos possessing Raine instead of a new Grimwalker is genuinely so disappointing.

They've been foreshadowing Belos creating a new Grimwalker since S2, with the only thing standing in his way being that Hunter was alive. Since Hunter died in TTT (though, unbeknownst to Belos, came back to life), Belos could finally make a new one, which many people in the fandom theorized would happen. There's a lot of angst potential here, too--with this Grimwalker having human ears (an even more perfect version of Caleb, this time designed to be physically controlled from the start), and his inevitable encounter with Hunter (having to face the fact that he now has two alive Grimwalkers, meaning they can't literally be Caleb as he imagined). This plot point was foreshadowed so nicely, and in this episode our theories began to be confirmed as he took over the new Grimwalker...and it failed.

If writers' intent all along was for Belos to possess Raine, why would they first show us such a dramatic and exciting scene in FTF with the Grimwalkers only for it not to work? Why even include that scene at all? It just felt like a mean 'gotcha' to the audience and made Raine's possession kind of uninteresting by comparison.

My favourite toh fandom feature is the way they always make up headcanons, opinions , theories or etc, distribute them to make everyone believe it's true and than go and hate everyone who desagrees. And how fast they change their view, when it turned out to be false.

We have so many examples of it:

1. Hcs about Hunter being bi, Willow being pan, Raine being lesbian, Alador being gay or Collector being non-binary. Noone ever confirmed it, but for some reason people are sure it's canon or implied.

2. Luz and Hunter being siblings. It was far before TTT even came out with their siblings. After HP it was the dynamic, "they act just like Blights/Clathornes" , after HM it was "parallels with Wittebros" and "Eda def is gonna adopt Hunter" and now, TTT it's "You're family now" and litteraly nothing has changed.

3. Willow being blasian. Sure, in theory it might be possible, that both Willow's parents are her natural parents since magic and stuff, but we don't know ho in their world it actually works and there is no official answer yet. Now we know only that Willow has features of only one of her fathers and has none of another one. So now we can surely say only that she is asian.

4. The theory of possessed Luz. I honestly never seen people insult others for not believing in it, but everyone tried to impose it and say "that's so obviously" and even tried to give proves. When now we know she wasn't possessed and isn't gonna be.

5. It was very long time ago, but I remember the time everyone was sure Eda and Camila are gonna be canon, cause both of them are Luz's mothers at some point. But now Eda lives Raine and that's most likely that Camila is straight, so it's defenetly not gonna be.

6. Even that era when everyone was hating on Lilith and wished she died. It was hard to find at least someone who wasn't Lilith anti at that time and if you liked her, everyone was gonna hate on you too. But now she is pretty popular and very loveble chatacter. That's ironic that I didn't hate het before, but dislike her now tho.

7. Basicly the way everyone used to hate on Huntlow untill the final of s2. It ship existed before s2b, but there were barely anyone who ships them and people hated those who do cause "it's a non-sence crack ship with a huge age gap". And guess what ship became litteraly the most popular in toh fandom now? I seen it more often then Lumity. Also these Goldric fans. Goldric used to be one of the most popular ships in toh. Their fans attacked Lunter and Hunter. But now it's just a stupid crack ship noone cares about and now Huntlow fans hate Goldric. When litteraly 2/3 of Huntlow fans used to either hate Huntlow and assume it as a proship, or ship Goldric.

8. The same as the last one, but with Willuz and Gaslow.

So what am I getting at? I just hate how hypocritical toh fandom is. They always wrong, but they never admit they were wrong. It's a perfect example of the crowd effect. When the one person spreads a thought and everyone starts believe in it with no reason and continue to spread it on everyone like it's canon. That's really so annoying.

Here’s a random question. What is your most unpopular Hunter opinion/headcanon(s)? (This is not bait or anything I promise lol I’m genuinely curious to hear your thoughts)

This is hard. Mostly because I'm not sure what's considered an unpopular opinion in the larger fandom. Hrm.

I was never a big Dadrius fan - I prefer to have Darius as part of Hunter's parental figure mix rather than a primary guardian given their historical baggage and Hunter's on and off screen connections with other adults (Camila, Dell, the Bat Queen, etc.). (For some extra context: I binged most of S2 for the first time the same week TTT came out, so I latched onto Camila and the possibility of Dell & the Bat Queen without really having time to consider Dadrius in a vacuum.)

I think there are extremely interesting things to explore in Darius & Hunter if you lean into the messiness of the Golden Guard years, but pure Dadrius fluff that doesn't acknowledge the baggage isn't really my thing (might read it ever, but haven't been in a hurry to seek it out). That said, there are good Darius & Hunter fics out there, and I can understand where Dadrius stans come from.

NEW PROMO LETS GOOOOOO

And because I am completely normal about this show, I'll dive in and give my thoughts and predictions for the finale based of this

First off I find it interesting how most of clips seem to be in what will probably be the first half of the finale, we see a shot or two of an impending fight, but we haven't gotten to that point yet. It's understandable that they wouldn't want to show too much beforehand, so I'm glad we're not getting spoiled for the whole plot.

The storyline I'm getting from this is that after the team teleports and Stringbean is revealed, the collector separates Luz from the others (probably turning them into puppets), which makes sense considering they do NOT like Luz. He threatens her or puts her in danger in some way, and then Eda+King end up intervening or are possibly summoned by the collector since they know of their supposed betrayal. We see their reunion in the end bit, but how they end up there is a little unclear.

Then we get to the games bit. It's self explanatory, the collector is very upset, and decides to put the original trio through all sorts of torturous games and challenges as a means to take out his anger and frustration over their belief that King isn't his friend anymore, and that Eda and Luz took that away from them. We go through the games, and after being fed up or being given an idea from Belos-Raine, he decides to trap them in their minds. That's what I think those orbs are.

I personally think that grom could be weaponized here in some way, or maybe it's the state of mind all the puppets experience, being trapped in their own insecurities and fears. Or maybe it's just an illusion idk lmao. Anyways this takes us to the bits with Luz as Belos, as well as Harpy Eda in front of the Conformatorium and King in front of some ornate door (I would use pictures if I could but I'm posting this on my PC and it's six years old and ready to die). Each of these characters will go through mental hurdles and face old memories, insecurities, and fears, just for the chance to "Wake up".

While Eda and King's mindscapes are still unclear, Luz' has been shown quite a bit in this promo so I'll mainly be focusing on that. The obvious first thing to notice here is that Luz is dressed as Belos, most likely reflecting how she feels about having helped him reach the collector (even though that insecurity was mostly resolved in ttt, I doubt she's fully gotten over it yet). Although I could also see it as a form of parallel between the two humans who got lost in the boiling isles with big dreams, or both honesty. When they show the petrified civilians she'll most likely believe that it was all her fault, and fall deeper into the hole of blaming herself for everything. When her friends show up though, part of me wonders what role they will play in her nightmare. Everyone is dressed in different outfits ranging from S1-S2, but there doesn't seem to be any true correlation between them. They could be the manifestations of their voices from the outside trying the encourage Luz to triumph past the spell thing she's under, which would explain why they're turned into puppets (as seen by amity's hand in the first frame).

I don't think any of the other clips related to Luz go past her nightmare sequence, so now let's talk about some random tidbits in this promo that are intriguing.

Belos seems to have left the collector after they began their challenges, and from the clip with Raine it seems like he wants to get back to the heart in his throne room. Some people think that Raine is trying to stop Belos, but I believe Belos is trying to smother them so that they can't fight back. Call me crazy but I feel like he's going to try and possess the whole titan. That scene with Eda and King with a background of goop and blue eyes seems to be their reaction to it. I don't think he'll be successful in his attempt, but man who even knows anymore with this show.

Glyphs are really important, especially in this episode. With the exception of palisman there is almost no usage of staff magic/spell circles in this trailer, it's all glyphs. Which probably means that those capable of producing their own magic naturally will be affected by some event in some way, probably some more collector magic stuff. What I especially like though is how much we see the light glyph emphasized in this trailer, it's the original and also very special to Luz, so seeing it as her "light in the dark" to wake herself up is really cool and I hope we get to see more like that. I'm also really excited to see the hexsquad using glyphs, those fight sequences are going to be sick I can already tell.

The Eda and King transformation part really caught me off guard. I can only assume that after dealing with their mindscapes like Luz, they were able to become better versions of themselves, King especially. I believe their transformation could also tie in in some way to that guy in the in-between we saw at the beginning of ftf. Oh my god I forgor about that guy.

HEAR ME OUT but if Belos is actually trying to possess the entire titan and that guy is the soul/spirit of said titan, could we see an intervene with Luz where she is able to communicate with him and therefore save the isles, this definitely does not make sense rn but I'll cook that a little more I promise.

Questions, little thoughts, and more

-Who will the final battle be between? (Or will there be a final battle at all?)

-I NEED A WITTEBANE BROTHERS FLASHBACK PLEASEEEEEE

-Someone pointed out that there was a flapjack statue/mountain thing in the background of Luz nightmare scene with the hexsquad and I'm not okay

-Since Amity was capable of moving her hand while in puppet form, does that mean it's possible to break the spell?

-Luz is finally getting the spotlight she deserves, I liked that we gave other characters attention in these past two episodes but Luz needs her time to shine for this finale

Seventeen in the SOOP S2 episode 5 - random thoughts

I was away for the weekend so I was finally able to watch the episode!

The meal at the tavern was such a vibe! My mouth was watering at the cauldron lid pork belly and kimchi.

But also... so many meal kits! I understand the appeal and convenience but I won't lie, I miss seeing the boys cook things from scratch like how they did last season (or on One Fine Day Castaway xD).

DK yelling for help from the bathroom in smol, so cute lol.

Jeonghan eating a raw onion like it's an apple is wild.

No one: ... Absolutely no one: ... Hoshi: *ropes in the drone and camera crew to shoot an entire music video for BRING IT circa 2017, complete with running, sniping, and an ATV getaway* Boy is so crazy and he loves the spotlight. And he still looooooves BRING IT.

Speaking of, this episode was filled with SoonHoon moments, a lot of times it seems like they're just on a forest vacation by themselves.

So in the preview it was Jeonghan and Dino getting the raw eggs cracked on their heads but the first victim was Coups! Dino was so shocked when he cracked it, I bet he was afraid for his life for a moment haha.

Jeonghan and his BETS I swear to god lol. The way he will make a bet out of literally anything and the things he will do to execute it (running out in the freezing cold to get raw eggs to crack on their heads).

It was so nice to hear the members' stories about Carats and how they feel about these interactions. I wish I could run into Coups while drinking~

I love the breakfast crew! Vernon doesn't strike me as a morning person but of course he'll wake up for a meal that's made for him hehe.

One the way to wake up Hoshi, Jeonghan was singing a sleeping song that sounds just like their "BARcardi" song from TTT!

It's confirmed, DK cannot meditate. He looks like he lasted about 10 seconds before he was sneaking glances at Jeonghan and Hoshi.

Having tea and rice cakes near the temple at Cheongnyangsan has been added to my bucket list. ♡

It seems like next week's episode 6 is the last one? I'm bummed because I was expecting 8 episodes but I guess they did stay one night shorter than last time.

Regarding "Sticks and Stones" - Was it weird to write Camilla's regret over her role in helping Belos get... and then later on see Luz go through the exact same character arc in the show itself?

YES it was. i feel like its common knowledge that i wrote that whole fic before ttt came out but like. seeing all the things i predicted was crazy because i was like. s3 is going to come out and invalidate all of this which like. yeah definitely happened in a way because i changed the ending of s2 to avoid being completely wrong but like. there were so many things i nailed that it was like. insane not being able to spoil my fic during the rollout while s3 was airing

Hunter having a crush on someone in the human realm is cute for the possibility of Luz helping him through it as bi found family, but consider the thematic appropriateness of puppy love for Steve as his mlm awakening— first off, in the bisexual spirit of “I love all women and Inu Yasha,” (which I believe is something Hunter would endorse, mostly for the dog boy and not necessarily for his actual preference in men), Steve is underlyingly gentle. Hunter has to admire how Steve is able to assert his sense of self (via his name) despite the literally faceless conditions of the Emperor’s Coven. That would also make ASiaS more fun as Hunter gets to experience not only beraying Darius (and Belos by proxy) but the multiple affections warming in his chest by the end of the episode.

Willow’s early sapphic crushes consist of almost every girl she knows, but she would never have acted on them because of low self-esteem and her preference for conflict avoidance. She gets them and doesn’t let herself feel them, even as it’s obvious (a là s2 finale into TTT-era Huntlow, she’s unwittin’-ly smitten.) In no order: Skara (aesthetic crush when she first gets her undercut, but it goes away when she gets mean), Viney (tell me the FTF wrist hold doesn’t have a past), of course Amity (pre-her turn to being a bully), Emira (cool older sister rizz, I mean it worked on Luz), Luz (first girl to give a shit about her in ages? absolutely), heck even Bo (freckles, cute nose.) Literally anyone but Boscha, like, her female teachers? Sure.

Okay so some general things to point out

The room

Clearly whoever owns this room is either Eugene or somebody connected to Eugene

The person in black is clearly Eugene, but the thing to analyze here is why there are two separate outfits. Is star outfit current Eugene and purple outfit past Eugene? Are they brothers?

Additionally ofc there’s the question of the cats.

Notice how the cats who are either in purple or are with the person in purple are all orange/yellow, meanwhile all of the motivational posters are red cats.

This implies that there are actually two separate cats. Ofc the question is, what happened to them? Where did they go? I think the fact that the red ones are all on the motivational posters, to me, implies the red one died.

Although interestingly, the fact that the orange cat also… is purple guy in some of the drawings imo also sort of makes it seem like the orange cat is purple guy’s fursona lmao. Idk

Honestly I think the weirdest bit is the drawings of the Drawtectives.

Like why is there a bunch of childlike drawings of the Drawtectives, specifically in their S2 designs (which means it’s a maximum of 2 months old) despite Eugene being much older than a tiny child. The main reason I don’t entirely go along with the idea of it being “Eugene is just bad at drawing” is that the person who drew all this put smiley faces on EVERYTHING. That screams “childlike” a lot more than “inexperienced artist”. Even Flash had more detailed eyes and a nose.

Although admittedly, Flash was coloured in pretty sloppily with markers it seems

So I’m not fully dismissing the idea.

Also ofc we have Train Rules and a drawing of the Harvey Hornswoggle Circus. Clearly I think this means whoever owns this room likely designed the circus or had ideas for it. Who do we know who had a big project underway? Eugene and Terry. Guess who also LOVES the circus: Eugene.

Also now we know there are in fact THREE ticket levels. First Class, Polaris, and 16 Psyche.

Also one last thing before we get into more speculative theorycrafting

The train log says “(Toby’s copy)”. Which… who the hell is Toby?

Theories!

Okay so, the Ticket Taker is definitely a very important player. Don’t forget, he was on the poster with Eugene that Julia posted the day of S2’s first episode.

And ofc a lot of people are speculating on who the hell The Ticket Taker even is.

So I submit three theories to you

The Ticket Taker is Eugene’s brother

Okay so, TTT and Eugene have similar designs in that they have long black cloaks with high collars on. My idea is that black outfit guy is Eugene and purple outfit guy is TTT. There isn’t really much evidence for this but it’s an idea I had.

The Ticket Taker is Eugene’s cat

This one is definitely more popular, and it was one of my first thoughts for some reason after analyzing the room a bit. I don’t really see any reason why other than that base visual connection in design and the fact that there’s cats all over the room, but still it’s a possibility.

The Ticket Taker is Eugene’s son

This one I think makes more sense but is somehow more farfetched than the other two lol. Once again, visually similar designs, but also it would fully explain the childlike drawings in the cabin. If this is TTT’s cabin, then it would make sense for him to draw his dad and his cat doing stuff. It would make sense for him to draw the people his dad was talking about (The Drawtectives). It would also make sense for him to have a set of rules to follow as he would still be a child, and also it would explain who Toby is. Additionally, I think it would make purple outfit be Toby meanwhile Eugene is still black outfit guy.

However it does make me want to know, if any of these are true… why are they a big ticket puncher man? Why can they punch holes in people?

Other theories

Now I have my personal crackpot theory:

The Ticket Taker is actually an ally

I’ve said before I think Harvey is the culprit behind it all and I stand by that.

However I also have the idea that, what if The Ticket Taker was secretly working against Harvey the whole time. What if TTT was the fall guy for if Eugene being the fall guy was found out? If he was the owner of the cabin, it would explain why there are two separate misspellings of Eugene Finch’s name. (Fuck I hit the Tumblr image limit) “Eugine” with the business card (we still don’t even know if Tallon Tscoutt is a real person), and “Fincg” with the contract.

Additionally, all of those pieces of paper with the Draco constellation did lead them to the room where TTT immediately ambushed them. I think the entire time he might have been leading them there so he could talk with them, or at least attempt to communicate.

What if TTT putting people “in holding” is actually him taking them off the train. We haven’t seen a single person who’s felt like they could leave any time they wanted, so it’s kind of clear they’re all trapped. And it is kinda suspicious that the only passenger we’ve met so far who isn’t the Drawtectives, is the person who got hole punched. Don’t know how to interpret that.

Additionally, what if he was carrying Conrad away because he actually just wanted to keep Conrad from making him seem scary.

Idk exactly how everything works out but I am fully convinced (granted I’ve convinced myself) that The Ticket Taker is an ally to the Drawtectives.

the episode in which I got my pfp from was s2 ep13 "any sport in a storm" and she has her hair dyed in this episode, it just doesn't show😭 but also, to answer your question, Willow got her hair dyed in s2 ep11, "follies at the coven day parade" a little after she asks Amity to braid her hair, so don't worry, you didn't miss anything, Willow ALREADY had her hair dyed before TTT!
