Because of the whole ~situation~ I've been seeing a large uptick in transfem support/positivity posts and don't get me wrong I appreciate it but I think it needs to be said

If you actually want to support trans women YOU NEED TO COMMIT TO THEM.

The harassment, violence, and censorship we face is constant, it is not relegated to isolated incidents extreme enough to be broadcast to the wider public. Every time something drastic like this happens people will show up, offer their support and condolences, but in the intermediary just go back to perpetuating the very transmisogyny that led to this in the first place. That's why the events of today have been utterly unsurprising for any trans woman who's been even the teensiest bit plugged into the general 'discourse' that just so happens to follow us wherever we go. Again I feel the need to repeat:

THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT

This is the result of a pattern of persecution that is not limited to just outright transphobes and TERFs. It is one that YOU, YES YOU, are capable of perpetuating. In all likelihood, you HAVE spread or contributed to it in some form or another. So LISTEN TO TRANS WOMEN. Vet call-out posts targeting us, be wary of spontaneous hate mobs against us. Acknowledge the reality of transmisogyny and don't be afraid to face your own culpability in it. TME people, stop getting irrationally upset at TMA/TME terminology. It is meant to be used specifically in the context of discussions around transmisogyny. It's not the axis around which all trans-ness rotates, there are grey areas, and it doesn't function well as a general label like trans man/trans woman or AMAB/AFAB because that was never meant to be it's purpose in the first place. It's a tool to assist in the discussion of a prejudice nothing more.

Do not just listen to transfems when our voices are at their loudest. Even when things seem quieter you have to KEEP LISTENING. If you can't do that, all your current words of support and solidarity will mean jack shit in the long run, and that's when it matters most.

My main account is restricted because I was doing something against TOS (url hoarding).

I deleted the URLs and am now waiting for a response from support.

This has been a frustrating process because I wasn't notified I'd done anything wrong until I hit up support about losing messaging access, then they informed me of the infraction AND restricted my account further for no apparent reason? For, what, not knowing that I was being restricted on purpose in the first place (I was getting error messages saying I needed to verify my long ago verified e-mail, of course I thought it was a glitch!)??

Anyway, I'm stuck in limbo while tumblr decides what to do with me!

I have a lot of thoughts about tumblr's recent events, and I hope I can take most of them with me to the grave. But I do want to say this.

During the damage control stage of this Hammer Car Shitfest, a second Transmisogynist Call Out hit the dashboards, and everyone saw it. A golden opportunity to prove Staff cares about transmisogyny.

So, very easy solution. Delete the obvious hate campaign for breaking harassment community guidelines, maybe a slap on the wrist for the OP, and suddenly everyone would have a chance at PR redemption.

As we all know, that didn't happen, and now there's 4 versions of that post bouncing around with different levels of misinformation, corrections and retractions. OP backtracked twice and nobody at staff moved a single finger on (what i doubtlessly presume to be) dozens or hundreds of reports.

I can't believe one can't report a tag in this site, and also I find tragicomic that when tags where banned they didn't thought on also ban the ones with number replacing letters. Like, that should had been obvious af. In regards of this, I find fuckup the amount of bs that is the anime tag and its related tags. Is like 90% porn, ia porn, and pedo shit, specially if u looking for queer anime. This inherently reminds me when Miyazaki said that otakus and anime are a mistake, but also humanity. I stupidly thought that u could go to a tag and report it bc that's what the first logic thought, but then when I saw there wasn't an option at the side of the tag title I felt dumb af bc of course it wasn't bc this site is made so bad and nothing works as it should. Now at the next morning I come to this hell and showed me in my dash my recently visited tags and I feel that I need to destroy my account and burn the premises of tumblr.

I have said this before, but i say it again; tumblr can trace and eliminates whole accounts in relation of palestine, congo, covid, trans ppl, and ur regular sexy fanart at will, but can't eliminated all content under certain tags or even acknowledge there is a problem. The most dystopian shit here are really bot the porn bots, but real humans that post evil shit, specially the ill that as a society we are, that even teens and kids post that crap or are basically themselves the post.

The other day I was reading about the amount of minors that abandoned school to work or bc they didn't see it as useful. At the same time we were spoken with my couple of how capitalism and patriarchy has ended fulled ppl, specially underage girls, to believe that the success and "feminist empowerment" is been hypersexual, been exploited, and basically make porn and call it content coz their dream is becoming an "influencer" and be a "brand" aka an object, and in the terrible common cases be a pornstar.

I have a friend that in unable to understand that dealing with her trauma isn't making horny pics and posting them bc she feel eneryone must love her and desire her bc if not she ia not a human being to then complaining why ppl is obsessed with her body and only wants to fuck her and don't care about her traumas. If she, that is supposedly an 28yo adult with a slightly over the average education, can't understand it and gets everything wrong, then what is left to teens and kids? When ppl says that we are better as a society than we were before I can't really believe it, if something we are worst bc now we have established rules that define what is evil, and yet it meaningless. I think we should begin to use the word "pornification" bc that single world encompass all this misery.

I hate this site and humanity so much.

One thing I keep seeing people say in regards to the predestrogen situation is that Matt personally contacted the FBI about her. I tried finding out where that talking point came from, but all I found is one of Matt's posts talking about how he'll "work with the FBI where appropriate" in regards to threats against him and staff.

Honestly, that just reads as a generic "We will cooperate with law enforcement regarding matters of security and safety" more than "We'll try and get a foreign user arrested over internet drama" to me.

The fact that so many people think that way, though, has me second-guessing myself. What are your thoughts?

It was a very stupid statement and law enforcement did not need to be brought up whatsoever, but he did not threaten to call law enforcement on her, specifically - and later clarified that explicitly.
