― Hinata Hyūga’s entire jutsu arsenal

The information presented in this post has been checked and revised. My aim is not to hate or to discredit any of the characters mentioned. Please read about me for further information.

This post will contain evidence in picture format directly from the manga Naruto (1999 - 2014) created by Masashi Kishimoto and published by Shueisha in 1999. I will also use information from the official databooks of Naruto.

In this informative post will explain all the jutsu that Hinata Hyūga has used in canon, meaning this will only include techniques that the author of the manga and the novels, illustrated by Kishimoto, have given her.

This analysis will be crossposted in AO3.

In order to talk about any jutsu, like ninjutsu, taijutsu or genjutsu, the term of stamina must be explained.

Stamina is accomplished by mixing mental and physical energies together, and it is the energy that fuels any kind of jutsu, with chakra or without chakra. These mental energies are different from the Yin and Yang Release.

The amount of stamina is proportionate to the number of jutsu the user can perform. This means that the more stamina the ninja possesses, the greater the repertoire of jutsu attacks and the more quantity there will be to transform into chakra, and, therefore, into a jutsu.

On the other hand, in order to perform ninjutsu or genjutsu, chakra is kneaded and expelled through hand seals.

Although Hinata does not have a high statistic for hand seals and, therefore, she would not perform any jutsu as easily, she acquired a fair knowledge for a ninja from a shinobi background after the time skip. Her proficiency in hand seals went from 1 point in the first and second databook, to 3 in the third databook.

Hinata is known for her taijutsu skills, which stem from being a member of the Hyūga Clan. Hinata does not need to transform her stamina into chakra because she does not use ninjutsu. However, she is able to blend her natural energies to create stamina and perform taijutsu. She does not have great amounts of stamina, but she counts with delicate chakra control, able to perform one of her clan’s most difficult Hiden jutsu.

The third databook describes stamina as the foundation of chakra and the hand seals as the knowledge in that art, the medium in which a jutsu is performed and the proficiency in executing said techniques.

Although Hinata has always had low stamina, her proficiency in taijutsu has always been her highest value and on par with Sasuke Uchiha and Kiba Inuzuka. Chakra reserves, or the stamina required to perform jutsus, are increased with time and training.

Hinata is only proficient in taijutsu and that is her field of expertise. She is originally a short-range fighter that counts with visual sensing skills. Her statistics indicate that she has a fair knowledge of ninjutsu, able to use one form of it.

All of her Hyūga hijutsu are mostly of attack nature (A), but she can also use defense and supplementary techniques (D & S) and classified as Kekkei Genkai; she is a close-range fighter (C) but she can use one mid-range technique (M).

Hinata has a low stat in genjutsu and she has never been seen using it in battle, as well as ninjutsu, but she makes up for it by taking advantage of her eyesight to spot ninja using illusions.

This problem probably stems from the lack of Yin Release that would limit her to use certain techniques like genjutsu, or Yang Release hindering her from learning medical ninjutsu, among others.

KEKKEI GENKAI - DŌJUTSU:

A blood limit is a special kind of technique passed down from parents to children within a clan. This special technique can only be genetically inherited and is different from Hiden techniques. Kekkei Genkai and Hijutsu are not the same, Hiden jutsu can be taught to anybody.

Hamura Ōtsutsuki passed down his blood limit, Byakugan, to the Hyūga Clan.

» BYAKUGAN (Kekkei Genkai): The White Eye is an eye technique inherited from generation to generation within the same family by Hamura Ōtsutsuki. The Byakugan is one of the Three Great Dōjutsu along with the Rinnegan and the Sharingan, being the weakest of them.

This eye technique is able to see several kilometers in the distance and the range is increased with time and training, also it also has a 360 degree of vision. Moreover, the Byakugan acts like a technique similar to X-rays, able to see the chakra points, bones or even internal organs.

Hinata possesses the longest ranged Byakugan known in the clan. She is able to see 20 kilometers ahead of her and this is probably an ability inherited from her father as a member of the main branch. Hiashi was also able to see the destruction os a very far-off city during the Fourth Shinobi World War.

TAIJUTSU:

The art of ninjutsu is the molding of stamina for physical exertion. The proficiency in taijutsu depends on the training and strength of the ninja rather than in the chakra or chakra control. Taijutsu is mainly a game of attack and evasion.

Hinata’s style of taijutsu consists of the gentle fist technique, which is the power of inflicting internal damage affecting the chakra pathway system and the organs.

Her area of expertise is striking the keirakukei, disabling the enemy physically. The Hyūga Clan’s signature taijutsu style is actually called Gentle Fist due to their characteristics.

As an adult, even if she does not actively participate in missions or fights, Hinata is recognized as a master of the Gentle Fist.

» GENTLE FIST (Hijutsu): The Hyūga signature taijutsu, regarded as the strongest form of hand-to-hand combat due to their ability to disarm an enemy or even kill them. This fighting style attacks the enemy’s chakra pathway system, closing their points and damaging their internal organs in the process.

An enemy without the ability to regenerate internal organs or reactivate the flow of chakra will fall victim of the Gentle Fist.

The Gentle Fist is a fighting style, meaning that they are classified as hijutsu because their moves are passed down from generation to generation known as “Hyūga style”.

The majority of these moves or techniques must be used together with the Byakugan in order to see the keirakukei and the tenketsu and know which places to target. However, the hijutsu fighting style of the Gentle Fist can be used in battle for those who do not possess Byakugan as one more form of taijutsu, which is the case of Boruto Uzumaki.

The Hyūga Clan use these special moves and they inflict this damage by inserting their own chakra into the enemy’s points using their fingers or the palm of their hands.

Hinata’s techniques are all derivations of the Gentle Fist:

— Eight Trigrams Sixty Four Palms (Attack, ?-rank): This powerful taijutsu technique is passed down to the members of the Main Branch of the clan. It hits 64 of the chakra points, making the enemy unable to move.

Hinata achieved this technique at 16 years old.

— Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm (Attack, ?-rank): Upon locating the vital points of the enemy, the user unleashes an extremely fast strike forceful enough to blow them away with a powerful shock wave.

This technique is similar to Neji’s rotation, but focusing on one target instead.

• Derived jutsu — Eight Trigrams Vacuum Wall Palm: This jutsu is a derivation of the Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm and it is used to push an enemy back with a powerful shock wave together with an ally. It can be used as a defensive technique. Hinata used it together with Neji during the Fourth World Shinobi War.

This technique is a collaboration jutsu too.

— Palm Bottom (Attack, ?-rank): Despite not being described as a technique, this move is used by Hinata during the Chūnin Exams and is the basic Gentle Fist move. Similar to the Sixty Four Palms and Vacuum Palm, the user directs chakra into the enemy to inflict damage.

— Twin Lion Fists (Attack, Defense & Supplementary; ?-rank): Hinata’s signature jutsu, this high-level technique is passed down only to the Main Branch of the family. It is extremely difficult to learn because it requires delicate chakra control, a feat that requires a dōjutsu.

The user of this technique can use a superior form of the Gentle Fist that drains the keirakukei and amplifies the destructive power. It is also a technique that enhances the power of the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms.

However, Hinata is the only user of this technique and she has never successfully landed a hit on a target, so the power of his technique is actually unknown. Without the help of the databook, the Twin Lion Fists would be a technique that is only visually pleasing but with a mysterious strength, so it is a strong technique due to its description, not of its accuracy.

• Derived jutsu — Twin Lion Fists Crumbling Attack: This technique is the same as the normal Twin Lion Fists. However, this time it is allegedly infused with Hamura’s chakra, given to her in order to destroy the Tenseigan, although unable. The lions change their color to purple, possibly due to the power given to destroy the vessel.

COLLABORATION JUTSU » Ninjutsu-Dōjutsu - Byakugan-aided Mind Body Switch (?-rank): Using her Byakugan, Hinata helps Ino locate Obito Uchiha in order to manipulate him and redirect the Bijū Bomb.

» Taijutsu-ninjutsu - Spiraling Twin Lion Fists (?-rank): Because Hinata can touch the Tenseigan, she combines her best jutsu, the Twin Lion Fists, with Naruto’s destructive Rasengan through a chakra transfer technique. This way, their chakra are symbiotically merged, allowing Naruto to receive immunity to the Tenseigan and allowing Hinata to gather enough quantity of chakra from the Rasengan to make up for her low power.

This collaboration allows them to destroy the Tenseigan.

NINJUTSU:

» Chakra Transfer Technique (?-rank, ?): This jutsu allows one person to share their chakra with another for their use or simply mix them together. This is a simple technique and it requires transforming stamina into chakra so it becomes ninjutsu.

Hinata does the same thing she did when she performed the Spiraling Twin Lion Fists. In order to save him from the draining effects of the Tenseigan, Hinata merges her chakra with Naruto so Toneri cannot extract more power.

Contrary to popular belief, Hinata does not replenish Naruto’s reserves because received chakra did not augment her natural pool of stamina. Sasuke and Naruto coming in contact with Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki and obtaining the power to seal Kaguya away did not augment their chakra reserves because they are naturally blessed with large pools.

It is also impossible for somebody to have as much chakra as Naruto, who counts with Kurama, his own reserve and a little of the Bijūs’ chakra. Hinata could not destroy the Tenseigan alone because the lacked power and chakra. The received power did not boost her abilities as a ninja.

Likewise, Hinata is not a reincarnation of Hamura Ōtsutsuki and her immunity to the Tenseigan comes from being a member of the Hyūga Clan, his descendants.

Hinata is not a very versatile ninja in terms of jutsu styles, being only proficient in taijutsu, but she can perform different styles of taijutsu, which add to her combat variety. Although she is taijutsu oriented only, she can merge her chakra with others, a common form of ninjutsu.

She never meant to surpass anybody but her own limits, but she became a ninja worthy of being a member of her clan and a very capable kunoichi.

Hinata is currently still of chūnin rank and she has no plans of ever being promoted. She is a retired kunoichi that does not go on missions anymore, she takes care of her family as a full-time housewife. Still, Hinata does train her children in the art of the Gentle Fist.

This list features 10 techniques. Of them, 7 are taijutsu, 1 is her dōjutsu, 1 is ninjutsu and 3 are collaboration jutsu. Her taijutsu stems from the Gentle Fist, making it 1 technique with 6 variants:

A grand tourney was held in honor of Jahaerys and Jahaera’s eighth nameday.

You sat beside Helaena in the high platforms on the elongated arena, hands twisting in your lap. Tourneys usually bored you to no end—watching men hurt themselves over little else than theatrical show and bragging rights was not something you were very keen on. It felt like a waste of time to you, especially because you were already spoken for—you’d much rather be reading, or honing your needlework, or playing with the twins. To your other side was your husband, Aemond, looking equally disinterested in the event. You noticed his long fingers tapping impatiently against his knee, as if he were itching to leave. His older brother Aegon was nowhere to be seen, most likely somewhere in the bowels of the Street of Silk.

You couldn’t help but feel envious. How come the father of the children the realm was celebrating was off gallivanting through the city, probably sunken into his cups and his whores? He was free to fuck whoever and whenever he wanted. You sat up straighter, eyes falling from your hands to the riding grounds down below. It didn’t slip past your notice seeing Aemond tense, his fingers curling into a pale fist over his thigh.

A handsome knight donned in black-and-yellow armor stared up at you. You faintly recalled the patterned sigil emblazoned into the shield he was holding—he was of House Darklyn. He had taken off his helmet momentarily, lodged between his waist and his free arm. Gorgeous dark locks spilled over the nape of his neck, only slightly curled.

The olive green of his eyes gleamed boldly, full lips upturned into a charming smile. “Might I be honored with your favor, my Lady? I can certainly use the luck.”

Your gaze flickered over to his formidable opponent, a strong and muscular man, shrouded in white. His shield bore a red lion. House Reyne.

The joust began just as you sat back down beside Aemond—but you found yourself barely paying attention to what was unfolding, and rather kept your eyes trained on your husband.

“Rather improper of him to ask for your favor,” he commented snidely, voice lowered so only you could hear. “You’re my wife.”

“Perhaps you should be down there, then,” you replied lightly, offering him a cruel smile. You knew well just how little Aemond cared for all the glamor the tourneys offered. “Show them who I belong to.”

Expression hardening to stone, he suddenly gripped your arm with iron-strength, hauling you up out of your seat, despite your half-hearted protests. You wondered if the Darklyn knight would search for you once the tourney was over. You found yourself unsurprised that you couldn’t care less about him.

Especially not with Aemond leading you down the halls of the Keep, twisting several sharp turns before shoving your chamber’s entrance open. Just as quickly as you were yanked inside, the wooden door slammed shut behind you, and you were promptly shoved up against it.

His lips were angry over yours, claiming you, biting you, devouring you completely. You fell slack in his arms, one of your hands resting over his chest, almost as if you were debating between pushing him away or pulling him closer. He swallowed the noises of contentment that slipped from your throat.

☀️ Kalim is a very devoted lover, so, even when you were busy writing this paper for the contest, he was right there next to you, reading whilst you wrote the words down.

☀️ He wanted to appoint Jamil to help you out, because normally Jamil would help him out on a difficult subject, but every time you turned his offer down, he learned to just accept it and watch the words flow down on the papers.

☀️ Seeing you cry was something Kalim never liked, he loved seeing others smile and have fun, not sobbing their eyes out. So when you came running into his room crying, he grabbed onto you like a piece of tape to your fingers and didn't let go.

☀️ Eventually, he sent Jamil to grab the student, which he gladly did, knowing how much you were valued by the Al-Asim heir, and let's just say they weren't spared from a rare Kalim-yelling.

👑 It was hard to make anything for Vil, but with this subject, he'd be not in an average, 'Vil is angry' mode, he'd be in a whole different level of pissed off.

👑 Because of how much he values his beauty, he would make sure whilst you spent hours upon hours on the paper that he'd check you face for any markings from concentrating and staring at the dreaded screen. (if you wrote it on a computer)

👑 He knew you would win the contest, you were his S/O after all, why wouldn't your effort prove victorious?

👑 Vil didn't see you immediately, in fact, he had heard from Rook that someone had stolen your paper and submitted it, and in the end, winning the contest without being caught, which caused him to freeze and glare at the hunter, obviously not mad at him, but at the person who did this heinous action.

👑 If they were in his dorm, he'd punish them accordingly, but if they were in another member's dorm, he'd speak with them and eventually trap them into punishing the guilty student with as much power as they would use.

🎮 Idia was one of the first to see this happening, but he couldn't react accordingly, at least, the way 'normies' would.

🎮 This Shroud brother may be a very shy and reclusive person (don't tell him I said that, he'll flush and get upset again), but when it comes to the people he cares about, Idia would go through a massive crowd for them all.

🐉 He valued your hard work nearly more than anything really, it was fitting, as you were with him, and in turn, were destined to rule Briar Valley alongside this powerful dragon fae.

🐉 It surprising that somebody had the balls to face any potential harm by hurting you. Everybody has seen you and Malleus talking in either the halls or in Diasomnia's main lobby, so hearing about this was shocking.

🐉 Malleus definitely has Lilia stay with you, unless you requested his presence. If you did the latter, he'd send out Silver and/or Sebek to find the certain student who did this and would give them the scariest warning ever.

🐉 If you allowed him to confront the student himself, he'd have Lilia (most likely) stay with you as he hunted them down like a hawk.

🐉 Either way, the student gets the shit scared outta them. There's no stopping him here.

Hi!!! I meant to post this earlier but my summer class started and I've been busy 😭. Fun fact: past fics with "I Won't Say I'm in Love" had people telling the TWST boy or Yuu that they are in love. Who did I use for Azul? It would have been the Tweels but it is actually Azul himself! 😂 I hope that you enjoy, anon!

Notes: Yuu is bold, mentions events in Book 3, 4, and 6, and Azul having an internal crisis

Warnings: possible ooc characters (I feel like Azul is) and not beta read.

Azul did not like the Ramshackle Prefect. Not in a romantic sense. Why would he? It's not like she stayed in his head rent-free for the past few days. No, he was thinking about how to get her to work for him for free.

He was not jealous that, according to ADeuce, the Prefect was spending time with Prince Rielle from RSA. How did they meet? Azul will never know, but one thing has been bothering him. SHE decided to have their date in town rather than in his perfectly established restaurant that was only a short walk away!

Azul set his pen down after signing the last contract of the day and stared at the ceiling. He recalled the first time he saw the Prefect during the entrance ceremony and how her cat monster set the room on fire. He did not care much about her then since his focus was on this year's profits.

His indifference changed when he wanted her dorm as a branch of his restaurant. Did he leave her homeless? Yes, but within good reason. He no longer wanted that embarrassing photo of himself hanging around the Atlantica Memorial Museum. How did she get so popular to get close to Leona, of all people? If only she and her band of Savanaclaw members did not get in his way. Azul's hand clenched into a fist at the thought of the pesky lion disintegrating his hard work. This was the only time he truly disliked the Prefect.

Of course, that backfired back on her when she got trapped in Scarabia by Jamil. Azul could not hide his smug look when she pleaded with him for help. He, being benevolent, acted like her knight in shining armor to save her (read: it was Jade and Floyd that did all the work) as the damsel in distress.

Azul hummed in thought when he realized something. The Prefect was less of a damsel and more like a knight after she broke into the Isle of Woe to save him and the rest of the overblot guys.

It was only after the whole fiasco that Azul slightly liked the Prefect.

Did he get any romantic feelings during the process? No, he did not.

Why should he, anyway?

She was nothing more than a magicless human. A reckless one, in fact.

If anything, she should be the one to develop feelings for him.

Azul knew multiple ways to charm the girl. He would start by treating her to deals in Mostro Lounge. Then, he would do different favors for her, like give her a study guide or serenade her with his lovely voice. Finally, he would be the one to save her from different incidents (orchestrated by the Leech twins); she would fall in his arms and for his charms.

She would fall for him so much that she would be at his door on her knees, begging to be his girlfriend. And Azul, being oh so benevolent, will agree.

Azul smirked. There was no way she could not resist him.

"You're amazing as it is, even without stealing anyone else's powers," Yuu's voice called out in Azul's mind.

Ba dump

"What the?" Azul clenched his chest. He could feel his heartbeat increase under his fingers. Why were the Prefect's words coming back to him?

"Your incredible diligence is so rare, it left the headmage at a loss," her voice continued to sing to him.

Ba dump

It has been months since their interaction at the museum, where Yuu had uttered those words to him, leaving him at a loss. Azul was touched by them, but he had put it back in his mind after the trip. Now they suddenly emerge and haunt him while he thinks about the Prefect.

Wait.

The Prefect.

Azul suddenly sat up and ran his hands through his wavy hair. Why did he care about the Prefect being on a date? Why was he setting up a scheme to have her begging to be with him? Why are her words echoing in his mind like a mermaid's song?

Azul's eyes widen in realization. A long time ago, when he was still a crybaby octopus, his mom told him a story about how a mermaid princess sang to a prince after she saved him. The princess had to leave before the prince gained consciousness, and he made it his mission to find her. The princess's voice was so beautiful that the prince would play his flute at night using the same tune in hopes of finding her because he loved her.

He was like the prince in the story.

He loved Yuu.

Azul took deep breaths to calm his wild heartbeat and wiped his sweaty palm on a handkerchief. He might have realized it now, but he won't say it out loud. No, he would continue his plan once Yuu returned from her date. The male leaned back in his chair and let out a sigh. He had to remain with his suave nature around her.

The room was quiet as Azul was deep in his thoughts.

CRASH

Azul immediately stood up, "What the?" his eyes landed on the door wide open. Yuu stood in the doorway with the Leech twins smirking evilly from behind. Only a few seconds passed, and Yuu was now standing before Azul. She grabbed his hand and proceeded to drag him out of his office-

Wait a minute.

"What are you doing?" Azul sputtered out, his face now red.

"We are going on a date! You and me."

"But I thought you were supposed to be with Rielle?"

Yuu shook her head, "He was just showing me around, and we're only friends. Besides, I'm only interested in octopi anyway."

Azul's mouth opened in shock, "How did you? When did you?"

"The twins told me. Now hurry up before the shops in town close!" She dragged the poor housewarden through the doors and out of Mostro Lounge.

Meanwhile, the Leech twins could not hide their laughter.

"Have fun, you two."

"Don't hurt Shrimpy now!"

There are many interesting concepts which they didn't show or didn't show enough

( Sometimes I wish that we didn’t have so much focus on the Uchiha Clan)

Gentle fist nullifying other Jutsus: nullify any ninjutsu by splitting apart its chakra. Hyuga clan are “Anti Chakra” fighters. Any chakra-based ninjutsu is rendered useless by a Hyuga . (Chapter 192-193)

Controlling/manipulate the opponents chakra flow however you wish is OP but was only used in a filler (Not canon)(Episode 191). The filler was cool.Hinata made a magnet release user bury himself alive with iron sand by hitting like 1 or 2 chakra points and started to change his chakra flow.Chapter 78-80

Air Palm(s) (chapter 257) Basically, the technique is similar to rotation but it has a specific target. Invisible to the naked eye

Talking about the Hyuga clan’s abilities, they always only mention the close combat gentle fist taijutsu. When confirmed the clan currently has two or more mid-long ranged abilities: Air palm, Wall Palm etc.

Gentle fist in a supporting use Hinata fixing Naruto’s shoulder chapter 617 ( would have been cool to see a hyuga medic, but please not from Hinata her gen already has two healers.)

similiar Almighty Push, it can be used as an offence or defence. If a Hyuga member is in a lock, they could easily blast their way through it while simultaneously damaging their opponent's vital points. If a Hyuga member is tied, they can free themselves

Twin Lion Fists

wish we saw more of this jutsu in use to it’s full potential ( considering how op it is). How it would actually work in combat when draining chakra. since Hinata uses it with 64 palms, she could (hypotically) also use it with air palm like in the video game verison.

One-shot techniques (higher level than 64 palms)

All they have to do is create a “lock-on” with their Byakugan and target the chakra pool of their opponent directly. It knocks out, kills, and negates durability. We seen Hinata ,Neji their fathers & Himawari do this:

Extra: Studio Pierrot has a weird thing for making Hinata faint (NO she wasn’t pregnant). When in the novel, she didn’t faint at all, this is what happened in the novel (Sasuke Shinden pg 50)

This my problem when SP adapting a novel or manga they basically butcher important moments. I’ve seen them do it with other series and it doesn’t workout well in the long run

Incest on the Nile, Part One

Oh, the Egyptians. One of the greatest ancient civilizations. Remembered by their mummies, pyramids and well, incest. Not only in the myths but in the man pharaonic lines.

"It's incest! Like the Kings and Queens of Ancient Egypt!"

As said by Melanie, from The Magic Toyshop, upon seeing a brother and sister kissing. I had full intention of making a gif from this scene in movie, but the version I can find on youtube is of such bad quality that I decided it's not worthy.

Either way, the point is, the Egyptian Pharaohs were famous for inbreeding, and their gods reflect that. Specially because the Pharaohs were seen as being an incarnated god, so it makes sense they do as the gods did and marry their sisters. Besides, incest helps with the concentration of power, which is something monarchs love.

According to the The Bremner-Rhind Papyrus, which recounts the Heliopolis Creation Myth. There was the first god, who narrates the text and is left unnamed, but through other sources we can assume to be Atum, who is often associated with Ra, and through that association, to Amun. This first god created Shu and Tefnut and this lineage created all the other major gods. The texts says:

"I came forth from the roots, I created all reptiles and all that exists among them. Shu and Tefnut begat Geb and Nut, and Geb and Nut begat Osiris, Horus Mekhantenirti, Seth, Isis, and Nephthys from the womb, one after the other, and they begat their multitudes in this land."

Shu and Tefnut

Shu, god of air, and Tefnut, goddess of moisture, are the children of Atum. An account of their birth, in which they are said to be twins, is given in the pyramid text of Pepi I, who ruled between the 24th and 23rd centuries BC:

"Atum is the one who came into being as one who came (with penis) extended in Heliopolis. He put his penis in his fist so that he might make orgasm with it, and the two twins were born, Shu and Tefnut."

In the pyramid text of Unis, who ruled circa 2345–2315 BC, the two are mentioned to be, together, considered the "Dual-Lion":

"Dual-Lion, who made their two gods and their body themselves—that is Shu and Tefnut, who made the gods, begot the gods, and set the gods."

Tefnut and Shu were frequently represented as a dual-headed being, so I would dare to say they are quite co-dependent, like those couples to never leave each other side. Execpet that one time Tefnut left Shu to go on a killing spree in Nubia. A text known as the Leyden Papirus narrates "the mission imposed by R[a] on Thoth and Shu to conciliate Tefnut, his daughter, who as a result of a quarrel has assumed the form of a lioness and withdrawn to the Nubian desert; the two gods transform themselves into apes, pacify the goddess by the magic and eloquence of Thoth, and return with her to Egypt" (West, 1969).

Geb and Nut

Geb, god of earth, and Nut, goddess of the sky, were the children of Shu and Tefnut, and they were in love. However, the sun god (be it Ra, Amon or Atum) feared that the children of this union would usurp the throne of from, so he placed a curse that forbid her from giving birth in any day of the year, which had 360 days. Luckily for Nut, Thoth helped her, by getting the light from the moon god, Khonsu, and using this light to make 5 extra days in the year. On each day, Nut gave birth to a different child: Osiris, Horus, Set, Isis and Nephthys. The sun god didn't like this a bit and ordered Shu to physically hold Geb and Nut apart so they could no longer have children.

Geb and Tefnut

Some traditions, starting in the 30th dynasty, claim that Geb married his mom, Tefnut, after his father forcefully split him from Nut. In the Shrine of Ismailia, better known as the Shrine of El Arish, there's an inscription that recounts Shu's battle against Apep, and that Geb used his father's absence to take control of the Kingdom. The problem is that most translation of this text are in German, I don't speak German. The little I could translate, with Google's help said something like:

"Geb looked at his mother; he desired her very much, and his heart longed for her, and therefore he travelled the earth in great suffering [...] he found her in that place called Pecharti; then he seized her by force. Now there arose a very great uproar in the palace."

However, other version don't include the rape. According to Jørgensen (2014) the Tebtunis Mythological Manual, which dates to the 2nd century CE, says that:

"He lay with his mother Tefnut, so that they were doing harm to Shu."

Maybe Tefnut consensually had sex with Geb, since the text describes "they" both a doing harm to Shu. But, more likely than anything else, considering that this is such a late myth, this story shouldn't be considered as reflective of Geb and Tefnut's relationship. Scholars speculate that Geb taking Tefnut as his wife is a way to symbolize the transfer of kingship of Egypt, with Geb taking both the crown and the wife of Shu.

The Curious Case of Hathor

I think that it's a well established fact that myths tend to change with time. Hathor is the victim of many of theses changes. It seems that initially, in the Old Kingdom, she was thought of as being the wife of Ra. In this position, she was the mythological mother of the Pharaoh, a role that later would be filled by Isis. However, she is also conflated with Sekhmet, daughter of Ra, and fills the role of the Eye of Ra. You know the story about Teftnut going on a murder spree? Sometimes, it's Hathor who is the one to cause devastation. On the complete polar opposite, she's also said to be the mother of Ra, but in a solar cycle type of deal that each day she births him and each night he births her and so they are forever reborn.

Hathor is also credited as being the mother of Horus, possibly having had this role for even longer than Isis, but after Isis rose to prominence, she appeared in the ole of a care taker to Horus, nursing him with her milk (she's a cow goddess) while he was hidden from Set. However, in some locations, she is linked to Horus not through motherhood, but through marriage, being his wife.

Interestingly, Hathor never seem to occupy two of these roles at the same time. She's never a mother-wife to Ra or Horus. Her role seems to change accordingly to what is 'popular' at the time. This is why I'm including this as a curious case of incest, because as far as I can find, she's never married to her son. She just happens to be married to two someone who are sometimes said to be her son.

In my own personal syncretisation of all this versions of Hathor, I would say she's the daughter and consort of the Ra, who dies every night and she rebirth him every day, making her his mother too. Then, when kingship passed to Horus, she married him, having also have nursed him in his infancy (or maybe he is her biological son from her union with Ra). This would be a nice and neat way to make sense of it all, but mythology is rarely nice and neat.

I’m so proud of the Naruhina fandom!! We got them both in the top 10!!! We voted hard especially for Hinata. A side character that didn’t appear as much as those in the top 10. We did it! I’m happy! Thank you all for voting! We got a cute illustration of Hinata and Naruto along with Neji and Minato. Can we consider it canon that Hinata uses a sword (just like Boruto)? She looks so cool with it with one of her twin lion fist activated

I gotta say, for the official illustration of the Narutop99 results that was drawn by Kishi, he knew exactly what he was doing, for three reasons.

(1) In Kishi's illustration, Hinata is using her signature move, the Gentle Step Twin Lion Fists — the high-level secret Gentle Fist technique that she created and is unique-to-only-her — and wielding a katana both in her left hand. Now, remember that in Chapter 42 Page 2, when she offers her completed answers for the Chunin Exams written test to Naruto, Hinata is revealed to be right-handed.

Yet, Kishi is clearly showing us that Hinata is strong enough to use her signature Twin Lion Fists and wield a katana both in her left hand, a.k.a. her non-dominant hand, at the same time.

(2) In Kishi's illustration, in stark contrast to Hinata, Sakura has already activated the Byakugou Seal, yet she has to use both of her hands to wield an ax. You would think that someone who learned the technique from Tsunade (the world's strongest woman physically and the creator of said technique, as revealed in Chapter 169 Page 16) would be able to wield an ax with just one hand — since, according to Chapter 632 Page 16 and Page 17, utilizing the Seal allows the user to perform techniques without wasting energy and the power of their techniques are amplified.

Yet, Kishi is clearly showing us that, for any power that she gained from activating the Seal, for any techniques that she straight-up copied from Tsunade (as proven by Edo-Tobirama in Chapter 641 Page 3 and Chapter 644 Page 13), and for any hype that she gets simply for being Tsunade's protege, Seal-Sakura is NOT strong enough to wield an ax with just one hand; she HAS to use both of her hands.

(3) In Kishi's illustration, he reiterates to us yet again that NaruHina had been present in the manga after all and had been planned since the beginning, per his own words via official interviews such as NYCC 2015 and Jump Festa 2017. He also confirms — after both The Last and Naruto's image song released for The Last ("Itsu No Hi Ni Mo") all but stated it — that Naruto has been in love with Hinata since the Chunin Exams arc in Part 1 at the earliest (either Chapter 42 Page 7 or Chapter 77 Page 17). How so? Because Naruto is literally looking at only Hinata and no one else.

Sasuke and Sakura, his so-called alleged "precious teammates", are positioned above Naruto, yet he is NOT looking up towards them at all. Instead, he is looking to his direct upper-left corner at only Hinata.
