For this project, I was able to play around Adobe Illustrator and test out the composition and layers with typography. I wanted to keep my 3 pieces continuous yet different to emphasis art principles like pattern and variety. I specifically chose letters like a, m, and q because they were continuous letters that grouped well together. Overall, my favorite out the bunch is the top left piece because I valued having the letters to display some type of action to keep a movement in the piece.

As of now, I'm currently working on a poster project relating to voting. This is currently a rough draft of what I want my final piece to look like when we put it on adobe photoshop & Indesign. I wanted to use twitter to symbolize a "powerful weapon" to act as a comparison to books and pens. The idea is to allow the viewers to notice the obvious differences with how modern weapons like twitter are more prevalent in society compared to actually reading books.

Yo, Quick PSA. I want to tell y'all about Standard Ebooks, ive been really loving them as of late and thought this would be of interest to my followers

Since 2015 these people have been turning public domain ebooks from project gutenberg into beautiful ebooks that have a nice cover, standardized typing and structure and work well on almost all e-readers and e-book apps.

This is by far the best way to read some of these books. Look through their catalog and see if you find something you like.

they specialize in public domain ebooks, and the catalog is relatively wide-ranging… i’ve been reading mainly pulp science fiction because that’s what i like, but there’s much more to be found

I had a look through their about section and I definitely like the sound of it, especially that they’re open source. The ebooks and pdfs that people can get straight from places like Project Gutenberg often do leave a lot to be desired visually.

I’ll add this to the master list when I next update it!
