i feel like. theres designing a character with certain themes and motifs in mind, and then theres making a gijinka for the water bottle on my nightstand

#me when im the only person on the bus wearing a mask: i should make a furry plaguesona #its hard to explain bc. most of the time i try NOT to give my characters a 'strong' theme like making their whole design around #one thing like apples or even broad stuff like baking or cottagecore.. idk if its partly for flexibility or because i cant imagine them #making it their whole personality. not bc i find it cringe or overblown but more like ive learned to associate design with character depth #i had a cutesy uwu persona for most of highschool because i thought it would make me more. likeable? easy to remember? since #memorable character designs are easy to recognize. and one way of doing that is simplifying it with a theme or symbol so you form an #association. but since im a real person its exhausting keeping up that appearance all the time and denying myself things when they dont #fit my 'aesthetic' or 'theme.' i think ive grown past that bc i just collect stuff because i think it looks cool and dont let myself dwell #on how it might 'fit' with my image. but i cant help feeling bad doing it to my own characters bc it feels like im making them too one #dimensional. despite knowing that theyre not real and design alone doesnt reflect depth i cant help feeling like its wrong #despite that i love seeing motifs because it feels like it reflects the characters soul and paradoxically gives them depth. it makes them #interesting to look at too and honestly its pretty fun combining things that fall under a similar category when designing #i struggle find a balance between those two things #actually this reminds me of noelles christmas theme.. i dont remember her saying anything abt liking christmas despite a lot of #her design and character tying back to it. it makes me wonder if she would have feelings about that or doesnt think abt it too hard #or if its like a matching family shirts situation and shes just going along with it?? #maybe i should just do whatever i want with my character designs since theyre not real and im thinking abt it too hard #although. this probably has something to do with deep seated identity issues huh #yapping #oc talk #oc

1. How good is your OC at comforting others? Do they feel comfortable around someone who is crying? Does it depend on the age or gender of the person in question?

I would say Nielh is very skittish when it come to comforting someone else but mainly because they are not sure what to do and what would be the best thing for the person in the moment. However they learn some basic patterns which are like: offering their shoulder, listen or make that person comfortable by moving somewhere else or giving them blanket, drink or something to hold in their hand.

And surely it does not depand on gender or age, Nielh very recently learn that is healthy to show your emotions and your pain. (Not that they are doing good job in that, but they are trying) For what they will react however is what is the personality of that person and then make action by that information.

Candy:

3. Does your OC find it easy to resist temptation? Are they always strong-willed and abstinent? Or does it depend upon the nature of the temptation in question?

Ooooh interesting. Hmm. I would not say easy, there always be something you cannot resist but it would very depand what it would be and what is the situasion and what is Nielh mental stage at the moment.

Lollipop:

5. How willing is your OC to gamble? Are they more than happy to rely upon luck? Or will they only take a chance once they have stacked the odds in their favour as far as possible?

Alright, let's take fun gamble first.

Nielh learn fun side of gambling from their other family, where it's friendly and the highest price was who is gonna do dishes for example.

But if we would take it seriously they would not gamble if they would not know all the odds and situasion in the room. They were teach to have the upper hand, be one step ahead and win at the end. So even when luck might play role they would not rely on it.

Chocolate:

3. What does your OC find comforting when they are distressed or anxious? Are they able to ask for this comfort from others? Or do they need to be alone?

He would start to play with his bracelets he have on both wrists or tug his poncho a little bit. He can ask for comfort but it very highly depand who he is asking as there is not much people he would really go to, so mainly he needs his alone time.

Candy:

1. Does your OC have any "guilty pleasures"? Are they at all secretive or embarassed about these?

Smoking :D and I would say it's not really secretive but more his doing when alone kind of thing. He doesn't really smoke often its very rare occassion for him but because of that he savour it even more.

And tbh I mean it not like cigarette but cigar yet make it very fancy dkkss

Ice Cream:

2. Does your OC take themselves particularly seriously? Are there times when they can take themselves lightly, but others when they demand respect? Do those around them ever view them as excessively dour and serious? Or even inordinately flippant and frivolous?

As a Chief's son he does take himself very seriously but he is as well just a man who have his own life/family so he cannot be serious all the time. I would say others in a clan view him with respect and not only because of his family but because of him alone. He gain their respect rightfully by his actions but he is not abusing it. So I would say some people might call him too serious, perhaps distant 🤔

3.Does your OC have a good sense of humour? What kind of jokes do they find funny? Do they have a favourite joke themselves?

Oh dear, no I would say he have 'bad' humour and lot of jokes takes him time to get. He surely have few cannibals jokes in his sleeves and some librarian ones as well. Sadly do not have any fav in mind :DD or well his future boyfriend's jokes are his humour
