Reason For Her Costume Design
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since her power is elasticity through jello, I am thinking her supersuit is designed so she can freely stretch herself around without worrying if her clothes can get ripped using her powers. Her belly exposed means she can have better chances of stretching without feeling strained.

three ships
i have to say dramione, don’t i? would be a bit odd if i didn’t. but if i’m honest, they’re second bc………. everlark are my forever and always, my one and only, the key to my heart. without them i wouldn’t be the glo i am today. and also pansmione i love them so much my BABIES
first ship
okay so this one stumped me for a minute because i’ve been shipping people since before i even knew what shipping was BUT! i have to go with my gay awakening ship, because obviously. Daphne/Velma from Scooby Doo, specifically the live action films because THE TENSION???? HELLO???? it had little Glo feeling things she didn’t yet understand
last song
Le Monde — Richard Carter (yes tiktok influenced me, it’s been on a repeat for days)
last movie
Pitch Perfect, it’s one of my all time comfort films hehe

okay i’ve been so bad at watching series recently I STILL NEED TO FINISH HANNIBAL I KNOW I’M SORRY HANNIBAL GC but i rewatched a couple of episodes of Catfish the other day and it’s been running in the background near constantly ever since lol i love that show
last thing i wrote
The Devil Wears Quidditch Robes - my new lil multichap silliness very loosely based on The Devil Wears Prada hehehehe
currently writing
gonna be vague bc it’s a fest piece but it’s dramione! it’s very fun! the idiots are perhaps idioting more than they’ve ever idioted before!

So… I’ve been re-designing a number of villainous characters for fun and also for an au.
Specifically; Glo, that background elf lady, that clown guy from the book, and that other clown girl from the book.

GdT’s Cabinet of Curiosities - The Outside commentary (Spoilers)
I think most people will miss the complexity of this story and simply side with Keith, who keeps insisting to Stacey that she is "perfect just the way she is" because HE is satisfied with their life. But Stacey's life is clearly not perfect in the beginning of the story. She's unhappy, deeply insecure, depressed, socially isolated, and riddled with anxiety. Keith tries to solve her problems by taking a parental role in their relationship and insisting that it's all "just in her head", as if that means that her issues are insignificant. Stacey gives him a lot of power, but it doesn't do anything to alleviate her depression and self-loathing.
Tumblr media
It's also hard to know how to feel about Stacey's transformation. On the one hand, it's clearly an insidious process to try to become something horrible that she shouldn't aspire to be. But we love to see someone work hard to improve their life. Stacey is taking control over her own life for a change and tries to be happy instead of being defeatist. We love that kind of thing. It's the theme of many reality tv shows related to the health/beauty industry, even if those shows often feel shallow, cruel, and self-destructive underneath their inspirational surface.
When Stacey finally goes "all the way" it's horrific and yet, there's a subtle feeling of "Good for her!" about the conclusion. Perhaps it's because Stacey finally has self-confidence and obtains attractiveness with very little actual physical transformation. She's clearly completely insane and it will all end in a sensationalist news headline about how she murdered and stuffed her husband over Alo Glo, but we still want to applaud someone who obtains full self-actualization, which Stacey unfortunately has (especially for Keith).
Whether or not it's all objectively real is irrelevant. It's real to Stacey and her pov is everything in this story, so I don’t think it’s something worth trying to find evidence for one way or another. A lot of what is “real” is beside the point in horror.
I think Dan Stevens deserves special mention for his excellent work as the Alo Glo guy, especially the inspired, nebulous accent he came up with for the character.
Extra: some great quotes about Dan Stevens from a Netflix Tudum artlcle
Director Ana Lily Amirpour previously worked with Stevens when he starred in Legion. She came up with the look for the Alo Glo Man, which required the actor to dye his hair platinum blond — a process that took six hours at a hair salon.
“Dan has a really big presence, and I worshiped him on Legion,” Amirpour tells Tudum. “I feel like he can really go anywhere and do anything. He can be the good guy, he can be the villain, he can be a dreamboat, he can be the monster. With the Alo Glo Man, he’s somewhere between a cult leader and an evangelist.”
Stevens dresses in a dazzling white suit and sits in a bright set, which provides a sharp visual contrast to Stacy’s cozy living room, giving her a glimpse of a very different life.
“Dan is the perfect guy to play this because he’s an incredible actor and he’s very, very beautiful and enticing,” Micucci says. “You see those blue eyes and you’re like, ‘What do you want me to buy?’ ”

... Stacy has an allergic reaction to the cream that gives her a terrible rash. But after using it, she begins seeing the product’s spokesman (Dan Stevens) speak to her directly through her TV, promising that it’ll transform her life if she just keeps using more.
“It’s unclear whether it’s actually happening or whether it’s a figment of her imagination, but she obviously becomes overly obsessed with this product and with everything that it promises,” Stevens tells Tudum.

More facts about Hop and Leon in Pokémon Unown Legends Tale
Leon's cape is actually a weighted blanket he's had since he was six. It's about 13 lbs. Hop wore it once at like 9 trying to imagine himself as Leon and completely collapsed. Leon had to pull it off him.
Hop has Borderline Personality Disorder, and Leon has Bipolar Disorder. Hop's BPD encouraged him to develop substance abuse problems, and Leon's Bipolar Depression comes with Walking Corpse Syndrome or Cotard's Delusion.
^^ When Eternatus almost killed him, for a solid year and a half he consistently believed that he was dead. That he died protecting Hop, and that his sacrifice was in vain, and that he was now just an empty husk of a man, a walking corpse. Now, he only believes it during his bouts of depression.
^^ The Eternatus attack also injected his body with intense Dynamax Energy. He became a beacon of Dynamax Energy and his DNA partially matches that of Eternatus. The Eternatus DNA causes him to fly into animalistic rages and frenzies if you anger him too much or harm Hop in any way. He gains the powers of the Pokémon exclusively within said rages.
Hop wanted to try and have an honest conversation with his grandparents and mother to try and resolve their horrible relationship. Leon asked Raihan to hide nearby in case it escalated.
^^ When Leon was being critical of them, his mother exclaimed "I am your mum!" to which Leon snarled and replied, "I have no mum."
^^ Leon was shunned for his attitude, and also for revealing that he was psychic and had Eternatus powers. Both brothers were called disgusting monsters. They threw everything they had at both boys and told them to never return to Postwick.
^^ Leon almost was taken over by an Eternatus rage, but Raihan grabbed him and pulled the brothers to safety. Leon and Hop lived with Raihan after that, as Hop recently lost his apartment in Motostoke.
All of Leon's Pokémon experienced intense growth spurts as a result of being exposed to his concentrated Dynamax Energy. They're all 1.5x taller than they're supposed to be. (Dragapult is a little under 15 ft long for instance.)
Hop's main three Pokémon are Dubwool, his soulmate, Alakazam, who's secretly related to him, and his Azumarill, who saved his life after a suicide attempt. He has many other Pokémon, but those three stand out above all others.
^^ The Alakazam was a little boy named Saakash, a bastard son of their father Rory. He had psychic powers, but repressed them so much that he gave himself brain damage and died, then became a Kadabra.
^^ He's the first shiny Kadabra to be born from a dead boy, so he was going to be experimented on and dissected by another scientist until Hop bought him, thus counting as a trade and evolving him.
Rory has another child they meet in Kalos named Jamie. Hop and Leon both see her as a sister, though they still see each other as father and son.
Rory later becomes a Human-Pokémon Chimera in the main villain organization Manus Dei. His DNA is fused with that of Annihilape. He still has access to psychic moves and has the abilities Vital Spirit and Inner Focus.
^^ Rory and Leon have multiple hand-to-hand fights as they both have Pokémon powers. Hop cowers in a psychic bubble.
Hop has Brittle Bone Disease, or Osteogenesis Imperfecta. It turns the sclera of his right eye blue. He has Jaundice, which turns the sclera of his left eye yellow. He has a gold right eye and a blue left eye.
Leon knows about Hop's substance issues. Hop swore to get sober so Leon has been hiding everything to avoid Hop receiving jail time. Hop doesn't get sober until the second arc, where the rest of the Galar 5 basically do impromptu rehab.
Hop gives everyone shortened nicknames if their name can even be shortened. For example, he'll call Gloria "Glo," Victor "Vic," and Marnie "Mars."
Hop loses his ability to walk after being caught in an earthquake. He isn't paralyzed, but his spine practically collapses if he does anything more than stand for a few minutes.
Post canon, Leon and Raihan have a daughter named Saoirse. As Leon and Hop reimagined their relationship as father-son, Hop calls Saoirse his "baby sister." Hop adopts a son named Kolby around this time too, and instead of Kolby and Saoirse knowing each other as cousins, they see each other as aunt and uncle. Leon and Hop never spoke about actually being brothers again, thus their children don't know.
