OH BOY I HAVE A LIST. okay okay so first off,

@for-the-love-of-angst , vee is so helpful and supportive! Their writings skills are also simply IMMACULATE! The pacing! The descriptions! Everything! I can only aspire to be like them, as a friend, and as a writer

@whumpinthepot , they are also awesome!! All of their art and writing is so unique and incredible!

@darkthingshappen , they have no idea who I am pretty sure but they’re an incredible writer and I have read pretty much everything they’ve written

@just-a-silly-little-whumper , also incredible writing. Love their stories so much! I take direct inspiration from them all the time and everything they write!

And last BUT NOT LEASE @demondamage , their art is beautiful and amazing and so so whumpy. Actually a story that I appreciate getting me back into SOME lab whump which was not an easy feat haha. They’re also super nice!

🩸 - What's a least favorite whump trope of yours?

I can double up on this one because I love an excuse to give hot takes. whumper turned whumpee. on the same note, 'sympathetic' whumpers in general. when it's done well the weight of their sins are a little too heavy for me, and when it's done poorly it tends to stray too close to torture/abuse/rape apologism for my taste.

already answered here, and I honestly don't have a lot to say about whumpers, but I can say that I tend to use a lot of the ol' classic Nameless Cruel Evil Guy, in the familiar variants of Bandit, Pirate, and Guard!

Hey! and Yah I do use the mix of different name and number to make so I can find a specific one! I should make a post that! I find it convenient when there's multiple ask games close together and is a carry over from an old blog!

So for whump ask game 1! 1: What are your favorite whump tropes?

Apologies if I don't nail what exactly counts as a trope I love Superhero/supervillain stuff, in particular: hero- defeated hero, Hero snaps/whumper hero, team lead Whumper + team member whumpee villain: interrogation, corruption of hero, taking "pity" on hero and showing them "mercy" by collecting them as their own I also love nonhuman whump, especially vampires and Fae related I love pet whump, as well as like whumpee who doesn't actually want to be freed for various reasons I like like high society settings, galas and masquerades, somewhat tying into Fae stuff. I also generally like atypical set dynamics- for example caretaker being technically or actively aligned with whumper, them working as a team. Oh right and living weapons, I love living weapons

11: How and when did you discover the whump community?

So I have drifted into whump and whump adjacent spaces a few times over the last few years through a mix of tumblr and AO3, I was introduced originally by a friend based on the type of stories I was reading, I think probably in 2020. I properly got involved last month, when I happened to run back into whump stuff and actually explored more and started following blogs. Life has been kinda a non-stop stressfest for like 2 months so it was a nice distraction. I lurked for like a few weeks then a mix of some good posts from Whumpshaped, being to tired for my anxiety to happen, reaching out to someone having a rough day, and just general lonelyness lead me to stop lurking an make a new blog to get involved.

He can make a MEAN dandelion salad as well. ★ - sad headcanon - Henrietta ehehehe sad head canon for my beautiful girl Henrietta. Henrietta used to play the violin. She used to be very very good at it. In fact, the local newspaper in her town wrote about her. She was mentioned of in other towns. Now, however, she hasn't played her violin in years. She can't bring herself too because Xavier used to make her play at dinners for his friends before certain events took place. ♥ - family headcanon - Miguel Before he was sold to Xavier, Miguel had two older sisters and a younger brother. He and his younger brother were both deaf and his sisters were hearing. Whenever Miguel fought with his siblings and didn't want to 'hear' what they were saying, he'd leave the room or just simply.... close his eyes. He's a little shit like that. ♡ - romantic headcanon - Xavier Lmfao of course you would choose this for Xavier Az. You little degenerate /aff. Xavier is actually VERY romantic when he isn't pissed off at someone. He used to write love letters and bring Henrietta roses every date before they were married. He is quite romantic actually. You just have to be perfect for him in return however.

hermit horror week day 1: season 8 or game mechanics

His teeth still taste like blood.

He's locked inside the belly of the Octagon. He doesn't know when he got there, but whoever wrestled him into it was smarter than Ren. They realized the full moon's light didn't reach the wiring. They realized it would give him time to down wolfsbane and silver nitrate. It also gave him time to throw it all up in the corner. If Doc were here, he'd be scolding Ren on the fact that silver nitrate is still a toxin and a disinfectant, and he should still be taking it in small doses, no matter how badly he wants to poison the wolf.

He curls up, shuddering, against the wires and pipes that power the shop. He feels thin and gaunt. He hopes he has not had much to eat. He doesn't have a phone or communicator on him. He doesn't know the day. It doesn't matter what the day is. The moon's visible during the daytime, too. It may have only been a night. It may have been weeks. It's probably at least been days.

He throws up again, because wolfsbane is poisonous too.

Most things that can keep a wolf down are poisonous. Ren doesn't have to take them often. He's normally... controlled. A tamed wolf on the full moon. He has a pack to run with. He doesn't need to poison himself to keep the wolf at bay. He doesn't need to take silver nitrate like it's a medicine and not a reagent.

But none of this is making his teeth stop tasting like blood. His shirt is covered in it, too. His legs. His face, he thinks--he can't see his reflection in here. He wouldn't know. But it would have to be. There's so much blood on him.

He doesn't have a scratch on him.

The only thing that stops him, then, from taking more silver nitrate is that if he respawns from the poison damage, he'll respawn out under the moon. He'll respawn back out there. And then--

He shudders. He folds himself into a tighter ball against the belly of the Octagon. In a shaking voice, he cries out for Doc again. Doc has to be nearby. Doc has to be nearby. Because if he isn't--

No one answers. Ren doesn't know who locked him in here. He wonders if it was a struggle.

He's covered in blood.

It smells horribly good. Ren feels dizzy. He's gaunt. He's so hungry. He'll hold that to his chest. He's hungry and sick, not simply sick. If he weren't hungry--if he weren't hungry--

But he's not as hungry as he should be, if it's been days, and he's covered in blood, and he resists the urge to howl, a long, mournful thing. He doesn't want to howl, or bark, or anything else right now.

Instead he cries, a human thing, and holds onto it tightly while he waits for the pain in his stomach and the shudders over his skin and the grey stains where he'd grabbed the bottle and the vomiting to end, so he can take another dose, and force the wolf further down. Down enough to be safe.

Down enough that he didn't maul his friends to death.

Down enough that he can know if he did.

Down enough that he won't try to leave again, as he knows he will, as the moon shines outside, and as soon as someone tries to open the door to rescue him, letting that light back in.
