no bc im not usually involved w stuff like this and believe everyone should be held accountable for their actions no matter what. but seeing the way quackity has been seen as non human, any emotion or misstep he has being seen as manipulative or fake is like crazy. i don’t understand how people don’t see like wait, your actually just being racist you are not capable of seeing him as a person, why? it feels like he really could’ve handled this perfectly and there still would be this large crowd regarding him as a heartless fraud??

truly. i have closely observed this situation and listened to both sides and theres a lot of different opinions that can co exist and theres a lot of complexity to them.

one particular thing that has bothered me and made me uncomfortable is the projection of quackity as this scheming conniving figure. its gross. him having to explain that hes had previous experiences like this where he keeps any sort of bad situation with another creator private and that in turn has made him perceived as more manipulative is so sad. and this isnt surprising obviously since this is something ive witnessed. but overall i think with the internet nowadays theres a large mindset that everything needs to be public information and shared with the audience while they preach to solve things in the dms. people only care for a show and to watch creators destroy themselves. thats what twitter is and what a lot of people actively strive to do on that platform. specifically in regards to leak communities.

everyone should be aware enough that theyre allowed to criticize quackity and the decisions he’s made that people may not agree with. he acknowledges that himself. but to paint him as anything other then human and someone who has deeply fucked up reaches that level where it is racism. i dont think many people quite realize micro aggressions when they see them. so theres that. and then theres obviously the extremes of the situation when it came to the doxxing and death threats. people actively celebrating and saying it surely is an okay thing to spread because well he fucked up right? hypocrisy. this goes the same way for any admin or worker involved the situation that has been sent and told the same.

Genuinely VERY confused, why is the majority of the fandom blaming Jason for the downfall of his friendship with Reyna?

i legit came across like a handful of comments today like "Reyna deserved much better than dirtbag Jason, he was such a jerk to her, choosing Piper over her and not talking to her after he came back to camp jupiter"

like?? stop over victimizing Reyna in this situation, it isnt even that serious lmao its just teenage drama, she doesn't need pity for this. both Reyna AND Jason were accountable for their crumbling friendship, it wasnt all on Jason. Reyna made PLENTY of mistakes too they are LITERAL teenagers, stuff like this is normal ffs. She didn't send a search party after Jason to look for him, she never held a memorial service for him even after the camp basically thought he was dead, she never initiated a conversation with Jason either after he came back, and practically avoided him the entire time completely (she flat out avoided eye contact with him in BOO and intentionally ONLY acknowledged Piper who was standing next to him)

Also, Reyna did literally the same thing to Jason that people are bashing him for, The fandom's problem with him is that he shouldnt have developed feelings for piper bc it "betrays his connection" with Reyna. But anyone ever thought about how Reyna developed feelings for Percy almost immediately after he came to camp while simultaneously claiming that she longed for a relationship with jason? if you put it in the fandom's logic, Reyna too, was "unloyal" to Jason, since she did not hesitate in giving a random new boy her best friend's position.

this hasn’t been proof read or anything at all i just wanted to go on a vent about wilbur because hes made me so fucking angry and disgusted

honestly i REALLY used to look up to wilbur and it hurts me to say it now. he inspired so much from me, i started learning guitar to be like him and learn lovejoy songs, i spent HOURS APON HOURS watching his vods and videos and streaming his music, i made fanart of him, i watched edits and read fanfics (by my mutuals) of him, his fandom supplied me so much JOY and COMFORT, i gained so many true and real friends through his community, he helped me so so much, he made me happy, he gave me comfort, he was my safe space, and the fact after all this he hurt someone, he ABUSED someone hurts ME too.

and to SHELBY, SHUBBLE!! of ALL people (nobody deserves abuse but im just saying that) shelby is SO lovely and SO sweet and kind to everyone, i grew up watching ldshadowlady, smallishbeans, shubble, grian, geminitay, mumbo jumbo and other minecraft youtubers of that sort, i grew up watching shubble

and the fact wilbur, the person who encouraged me and helped me get through so much, HURT, PHYSICALLY HURT, this girl i held close to my heart as a GOOD part of my childhood makes me genuinely want to sob.

“i hate basil for what he did!” why do you not hate any other character, then?

the “i hate basil for his actions” argument has always been one that confuses me. this isnt to say you cant hate him, its more the way people are so quick to target basil then immediately forgive any other character. (omori spoilers under the cut!)

every omori character has fucked up. its on different levels, sure, but none of them are perfect people. they have all hurt each other, sometimes on purpose. they all have their own reasons, but to excuse them and not basil is just unfair, especially given how similar some of their reasoning is.

if basil should be held accountable for hanging mari, then mari should be held accountable for putting so much pressure on sunny. sunny should be held accountable for killing mari and hiding that for so long. hero should be held accountable for yelling at kel when all kel was doing was trying to help. kel should be held accountable for using aubrey’s trauma against her and not letting her have peace. aubrey should be held accountable for turning against everyone, bullying basil for years, and pushing him into the lake.

“but they all had reasons! they were all traumatized!” so was basil? basil went through the same thing they all did - hell, arguably worse than what they all went through. his actions are not, and never will, be okay, but i’d honestly say that what he did, when you think about his circumstances, isn’t as bad as the others when you consider their choices.

characters like aubrey and kel had every chance to stop what they were doing and make it right. they’re almost fully grown and were choosing to do what they did. basil was twelve when he hung mari. he was a little kid who had just witnessed the murder of one of his best friends and was trying his hardest to help. he didn’t really have many other choices, did he? even his actions later on, while still not okay, can be easily explained by his trauma. he was not in a right headspace. you could make that argument for any character, so why do people choose to do that for them and not for basil?

i am not in any way trying to compare bullying to straight up hiding a murder for years, im just trying to say that basil has more of an excuse than anybody else. he was in a panicked state of mind and didnt have much time to think about what to do. he didnt have a lot of choices at the time and did what he thought was best. he didnt get to stop and think - he had to act then and there. he couldnt go back once he’d done it, too. however, a few of the other characters did have that choice. they had years to think about what they were doing and make the choice to stop, but never did. they’re capable of rational thoughts from time to time - basil was not at the time.

this isnt to excuse or blame any character’s actions. none of them are okay and they never will be, but they all had their reasoning. it just pisses me off how basil is hated so much for his shitty actions, yet everybody else is defended to hell and back…

Since helluva boss fandom have favoritism toward stolas. Stella character get a lot hate and when any bad quality they pointing out to stella never stolas they can make excuses toward stolas but not stella. Beside that i see the fandom compare stella to amber heard even calling her amber bird, amber heard is an actual victim of abuse who get smear and hate campaign by her abuser. I started to see similarity between both of them they receive a lot hate because of misogny

Tbh, I dont know much about the amber heard x johnny depp trial, i know that it was a big thing that happened which was mainly on domestic abuse though i dont have much information to go off of there.

With stella herself however, there is definetly a double standard in the fandom where they demonise stella for being abusive despite coddling stolas, a guy who sexually harassed an imp, made a contract of the imp sleeping with him to get the grimorie, abuses his servants (like throwing him around when he argues with stella, which is also what stella does too ironically enough), literally calls blitzo his 'little imp plaything' (just straight up dehumanising him) and neglects his own daughter. Or shipping him with blitzo, a character that also sexually harasses/stalks his employees, abuses/mistreats moxxie/one of his employees, was a shitty boyfriend to verosika, stalked his sister even when people around him says that she wants nothing to do with him (and still treats her like shit anyway) and is just an asshole. Its an 'its always sunny' situation where were not suppose to pick the ones that are good and the ones that are bad, but of which flavour of trash we prefer, even if the narrative itself is more lenient towards certain trashy characters than others.

Like I have seen people say that she was retcon which isnt true, she was never retconned. You cant retcon a character with little depth, thats the issue with her character. She lacks depth that wouldve make us care for what shes gonna do to the other characters along with creating more intriguing stakes. Depth doesnt equal sympathy which is what many fans dont get when people want stella to have more further characterisation. You can still an abusive character have depth, in fact that should be a good thing because abusers themselves have depth that makes it hard to recognise that their abusers, its one of the reasons why abusive relationships are hard to leave. And you can argue stolas is also abusive/terrible, just towards other people (like his servants or blitzo who is also abusive/terrible) yet he's clearly meant to be percieved as a 'complex' character so it would really be hypocritical to frame one as one dimensional because their abusive and the other more complex, even if their also terrible too. Its not to say 'dont frame stolas as a victim' because he still is a victim of abuse, victims arent perfect and can even be terrible people themselves, just to others and should still be recognised as victims regardless. What i am saying is to not pick and choose which terrible person is good or bad, their all bad in their own way and should be held accountable and face the consequences of such.

Sorry, only messaging on anon cause I can’t send an ask on the right account but, I mean I totally get what you’re saying about Komaeda as a whole but I think some things are being overlooked. For one, in regards to his actions in well, the whole story really, I have to present a question. Do we hold children accountable for their actions? Yes, to a point, but we also acknowledge that their brains aren't developed and there are certain processes that they are quite literally incapable of. The same can be said of Komaeda. His brain is literally deteriorating, which in a way could be akin to a child with an undeveloped brain, and the parts that get damaged first in most cases of FTD are all parts of the brain that have to do with moral judgement. specifically the ability to recognize something as morally right or wrong, ability to recognize whats socially appropriate, and ability to empathize (this is all just mostly the ventromedial cortex, so there are countless other symptoms that come into play but) as well as an increasing loss of self awareness. If he were just mentally ill, i would agree that his actions are definitely his fault and his own but in this case, it's much trickier. is a person whose brain is literally deteriorating someone we should consider a moral agent? is this someone in control of themselves enough to be accountable for their actions in full? i wouldn't say so.

but also another thing is that i personally love chiaki, and i have no issues with hinami but i also think its odd that you're anti komahina. like, i mean there are ships im less fond of or that i even think would be better/worse than others but i dont see why if its not the one you like most that you need to reject it entirely. the only times i think thats really necessary is in cases of shipping abusers with their victims or ships thats are problematic i.e. age difference. beyond that, isnt it just easier to idk man…. accept that you’re not gonna agree with every ship you see? Just an observation.

I hear and I get what you are trying to say but I think you fail to get a few things while yes his dementia influences his actions to some degree it’s also due to his obsession with and as nagito said he doesn’t mind killing or being killed if it’s for the sake of hope and while his dementia does affect his perception a bit it’s not enough considering he’s one of the most perceptive characters in the game considering he’s the one who usually has it all figured out so I don’t think the comparison to a child really works with a character like him and if he’s at least aware enough to have a distinct sense of right and wrong(regardless of how screwed up it is) I do think that is enough to be held accountable

If you want to know it’s mostly because I find the ship to be toxic and the fans to be annoying (Everytime I criticize nagito’s actions guess how many fans are in the inbox or comment section are there it’s a pain I tell you) and I was annoyed at all the dr3 Chiaki hate plus hinanami hate (seriously if someone gripes about how despair arc forgot komahina again I’m gonna scream)

So I sort of decided that i should return the favor now I understand that there are worse ships out of there but none of their fans have ever given me a reason to go after them (unlike most komahina fans)

And because nagito’s treatment of hajime in chapter 4 and 5 just bugs me

Because while nagito doesn’t act like fuyuhiko(pre chapter 2) or hiyoko during this time what makes it bugs me is who he’s saying it to

Hajime is someone very insecure about himself and struggles with his self worth due to his lack of talent and very much doesn’t like having his insecurities touched at

So to see someone who supposedly loves him call him worthless And make him out to be dead weight just bugs me

And unlike Souda or toko who both get off on this kind of treatment hajime doesn’t not enjoy it

So it just annoys and disturbs me

AU where Teddy moves away, goes to therapy, and realizes his mother wasn’t just clingy, she’s abusive. Sabotaging someone to keep them isnt love. You can be hurting and still held accountable for your actions. Their reactions to your boundaries are not your responsibility.

Teddy gets a job as a police sketch artist.

He comes back to the island to visit and starts getting Very Alarmed about Dean. He replays their childhood in his head with a new, adult perspective and sees it all click into place.

He talks to his therapist and his law enforcement contacts and realizes he can’t have actually have Dean arrested and that Emily might be too groomed to see what’s going on. After all it took him years himself and he’s removed from the situation and isn’t the target.

He talks to Aunt Elizabeth and Ilse and Perry and they make a plan. (Idk what specifically tbh)

Ultimately it will be up to Emily to leave but they’re gonna do what they can to give her the space and safety to start thinking more clearly about it.

Teddy carefully starts telling Emily what he learned about abuse and boundaries and keeps it all about him and his mother but hopes she’ll think about Dean.

He carefully asks questions and listens without giving her any specific advice unless she asks.

“Why do you feel you owe him? Do you feel that way about other people in your life?”

“It sounds like you feel responsible for his disappointment?”

I keep trying to find a way Teddy (or better yet - Emily) can have Dean arrested but I can’t come up with it.

Man Teddy could have been such a good character and he was just fully wasted. Emileddy even has interesting opposite-but-similar trauma in so many ways.

Re: teddy's mom, I think that's something we see appear more than once in LM Montgomery's work--someone who is emotionally abusive or worse but legitimized through being presented as a tragic figure. Unfortunately no examples come to mind, but iirc her short stories can have that theme. An extreme example is the short story of the man who falls in love with a woman, she chooses to marry someone else and has a daughter, he helps raise the daughter, and then MARRIES THE DAUGHTER IN WHAT'S PRESENTED AS A FIX IT SCENARIO.

With Teddy, I honestly think the problem is that he doesn't balance out Emily well. Other LMM pairings go very well together in a satisfying contrast--Teddy doesn't. I still (yes, still) need to embark on my reread of the trilogy (Emily of New Moon is sitting on my dresser as I type), but although my memory could be deeply flawed and downright horrifically wrong (yes i'm still scarred about dean priest), I remember him being too similar to Emily, and more than that--being dull as dishwasher compared to all the other male characters, especially Perry!

Your ideas are very appealing because they make him protective of Emily haha, he needed something...more to his character. If I were writing Emily, although I do not pretend to have anywhere close to LMM's talent, I would probably just give her a love interest with an entirely different personality. What would that look like? I don't know! I do think that Teddy Kent was not a good foil to Emily Byrd Starr, and the book suffered for it (at least for me!)

I know everyone wants/thinks that Crowley is going to be in danger in S3 and Aziraphale will have to take matters into his own hands because of it. Like it makes sense. I want it too. But how would we actually get there. How does Aziraphale lose Crowley for the parallel to Crowley losing Aziraphale in the bookshop fire? What would Aziraphale save Crowley from? Hell doesn't care about him, and I doubt Metatron/Heaven considers him a threat now that they have Aziraphale. And I genuinely don't think the Metatron would inform Aziraphale of any danger to Crowley or ask him to act against him- he seems well aware that would be crossing a line. What would make the angels go after him.

well, look, you're right - ultimately, as ep6 stands, crowley is by all accounts an isolated and neutralised threat. regardless of where i or anyone else stands on the 'why was the miracle so powerful' debate, both he and aziraphale bullshitted (or did they?) their way into stalling the apocalypse at the very least; they work best and pose their biggest threat when together. and they're... not together rn.

and true - unless there is a major realignment in aziraphale's core psyche where crowley is concerned (which... i really hope there isn't, not in any long-ish term capacity), aziraphale is unlikely to turn against crowley to such an extent that they are actively enemies etc. so, to my mind, it's going to be a case of crowley inadvertently Fucking Shit Up that directly pisses off heaven, and aziraphale is caught in the middle.

i think this is where the plot of s3 is going to come in; we know it's the second coming (and following, the last judgement). ive parsed out some kind of speculation as to how it's introduced in this post, including who i think jesus 2.0 is, so let's roll with this for a moment.

so aziraphale knows that warlock is not - in fact - the second coming. he knows that crowley and the nuns messed up in s1, and there's instead a relatively high chance that the second coming was the other baby. heaven do, however, think that warlock is the second coming (hilarity ensues, god knows we're going to need it). aziraphale can't just toddle down to earth to try and track jesus down, so he sneaks down to enlist crowley to help; he was there at the swap and at armageddon, he'll know what to look for.

crowley tells aziraphale to go fuck himself - not only did he choose heaven over him (as crowley might see it), but he's not going to facilitate the end of the world, not again. aziraphale beseeches that he's trying to stop it, but he needs someone on earth to find jesus before the angels/heaven cotton on, whilst he does what he can Upstairs. crowley either agrees (bc i do think he does still trust aziraphale, if nothing else), or declines but secretly does it anyway.

crowley goes to tadfield, does his snooping, james bond stuff (lord if you hear me, please return the turtleneck to us 🙏), and traces down greasy. possibly gets a little gang reunion going on of the s1 cast, except maybe shadwell/madame tracy, and everyone is roped into trying to hide greasy from heaven. adam would be delightfully yet secondarily important here.

unfortunately the angels are not quite as dim as we hope; they work out slowly that warlock is not the second coming. earth observation files are checked, and wahey, the second coming is back in oxfordshire, oops. aziraphale gets, idk, held hostage or trapped somehow, because he meddles too much for his own good (which, yk, isn't wrong), and they go after crowley and the tadfield troop.

crowley does his best to protect them, succeeds, but gets overwhelmed and brought to heaven in (literal?) chains (and some demons to witness, idk) because this time heaven aren't having it, they're fed up of this two-bit demon fucking with them. they're not going to hose him down in holy water, oh no - the chekhov's gun, BOL model, is getting loaded to fire.

the thing is though - a) crowley isnt in the BOL, and b) aziraphale has had Enough. cue the long overdue moment to celebrate aziraphale being absolute Nails, they fight/escape their way out of heaven (with some sympathiser angels/demons in tow?), and get to the bookshop to shelter and regroup with the humans etc.

now im sure the last, perhaps, 1.5-2 episodes will be just a glorified 'every answer to every question will be revealed and all nearly slot together' revelation interspersed with 'we're making the final Whickber Street Stand to save humanity' gubbins, and maybe somewhere along the line crowley gets caught in the crossfire?

there's certainly imagery from Those Promo Photos to suggest that there is a pietà moment (im not sure how literally to take this but the option is brilliantly tragic), and i wouldn't be surprised if, whilst everyone else is battling outside, aziraphale essentially drags crowley to safety in the bookshop, echoing the bookshop fire, and essentially temporarily loses him. big heartfelt moment, cue devastating david arnold score, and it's a All Hope Is Lost kinda thing. ugh.

but then!!! crowley isn't actually gone, he's hanging out in the in-between - looking suspiciously like the firmament from when he first created the stars. and our resident deity shows up, and they have a wee chat. get some things out in the open; crowley finally gets his answers. he might not like what he finds, but he gets to ask them. possible hard cut - we don't see the end of the conversation.

meanwhile, aziraphale has either Fucking Lost It 2: Electric Bugaloo, or is just a sad heap of Not Much At All, because literally nothing - nothing - is worthwhile fighting for when crowley isn't here. or is it? he gets up, goes outside, and prepares to face down Metty Babes himself, big 'i know what you've been up to all along' dialogue moment.

somewhere in this, crowley comes strolling out, huzzah, and then obviously a big avengers moment where Baddies are defeated and everything can return to how it was. Big Miracle Take #2, resets everything, and they resolve to try and leave heaven/hell in more capable, fairer, open-minded hands. ultimately, they want nothing to do with it, they want to be left in peace. big kiss, buy the south downs cottage, celebrate at the ritz, roll credits.

I guess jack is alive then based on that synopsis😂 I hope they dont make this season really depressing for him. I've never been his biggest fan he's been through enough already and they barely even do anything with his trauma and grey isnt exactly capable of a big trauma sl anyway so idk why they do what they do with him. He's such a mystery to me. And for the love of GOD PLEASE dont set up vic and beckett to be a couple. Friendship is fine but please just dont go there😭 Vic has been through ENOUGH she doesnt deserve that. I do sympathise with beckett. I sympathise with all of the characters they all have had their own issues which makes them human but I am really going to struggle to ever like him bc of what he's done. He's treated the team so badly and pushed maya into a psychotic breakdown mostly bc his ego stopped him asking for help. And it just annoys me how he was given so many chances yet maya wasnt and they could've prevented alot of bad things that happened under his watch if they'd just held him accountable

We've known he's alive basically since they started filming lol they don't keep anything a secret anymore. They always make his storyline depressing and miserable but it never translates well (at least for me) for a bunch of reasons. I'm tired of him getting all the sympathy and playing victim as if he's the only one who goes through stuff on the show. He's constantly getting coddled and it's just not interesting to me.

I really hope they don't go there with Vic and Beckett but I'm starting to worry they will. Vic deserves so much better than for that to be her storyline this season. I didn't think it could get worse with Theo and was glad she'd finally be away from him but to only be with Beckett next? No thank you. 🤢 The double standards between Maya and the rest of the team is so frustrating and I'll never be over it. And especially with how the other team members will be more accepting/forgiving with these team members but not Maya...it makes no sense.

of course! and i totally understand. when a community doesnt have space for minorities to voice their concerns these kinds of designs get tossed around and spread like a disease, and while thats not to say its a minorities responsibility to talk about it, of course not, a community that was made up completely of 13 year olds in 2018 when this design choice was most popular is just simply not going to know better. now those people are adults, still using those designs because its almost just. normalized. its everywhere, why should they alone be held accountable and be the one to stop using the design? its never been a problem before, theyve drawn it like this for years, etc etc. it becomes ingrained in the community and people have a hard time changing unless given explicit advice on what theyre doing wrong and im happy to help with that.

with that out of the way, lets talk about colors! tord is often associated with the colors red and black. unfortunately, so are the nazis. does this mean you cant use red and black for your red army designs? no. you just have to be careful with your design choice.

think of it as a scale, itll help you memorize it. the more realistic and militant your army design is, the less red and black you should use. the more abstract (think sci-fi, post apocalypse, fantasy, casual or whatever) your design is, so long as it doesnt resemble traditional military gear, the more red and black you can use. the militant design on this graph is still very iffy in the way it looks, as you can tell - because its still some what of a fascist design (note: this is why you avoid the caps regardless of color bc its still a symbol). essentially the less your tord looks like the leader of an army and the less he resembles a fascist figure, the more things usually associated with totalitarianism you can put to use (in this case being the color palette).

we can even take eddsworld itself as an example with this screenshot:

although tord is standing at a pedestal, giving a speech, evil smirk and all with the victory symbol raised up on both sides - you still cant recognize it as totalitarianism symbolism because of numerous factors. 1. he lacks a traditional militant uniform, instead dawning his casual hoodie. hes just tord presumably taking over the world. 2. despite the real hammer and sickle being on the flag, it doesnt feel like it given that the colors are wrong. communism isnt associated with red and blue, but red and yellow. 3. the stage itself is modest. theres no giant symbol behind him, no giant flags by the sides of him, just a small communist symbol on a weird red and blue background. it looks like hes giving this speech in the school gymnasium. it doesnt look political.

nazi imagery comes in layers. when you think of nazism youll think of things you might not even notice despite it being pictured in your thoughts. youll think of black and red, youll think of pride and giant symbols of a political party hung around every corner - ingrained into stone and sewn into clothing. you think of order and organization, everyone stands in perfect lines, specific salutes, a leader looking down at the soldiers at his command. you think of two symmetrical flags at either sides of a pedestal, a color coded army, executions, military officals keeping their hands behind their backs, etc etc. because it comes in all these layers, you can strip them down. the more and more you remove, the less it becomes a specific vision of a nazi army, and the more it becomes just abstract concepts. descriptions and definitions. its important to limit yourself with how much of these you utilize for your portrayal because when you start using too many, people start to connect the dots.

Top 5 DRA Characters

1. Akane

As far as supporting characters go, Akane Taira is certianly up there. She’s positive and very trusting of those she hold dear to, which is very heartbreaking seeing how she dull and empty she became at the start of chapter 3. And of course we have to talk about her mastermind personality. I think it is very shocking how someone so close to the cast, especially the protagonist could be the mastermind behind their killing game. It’s like Tsumugi done right! Not much has changed about her from her time with the cast, she’s just very unhinged and incredibly acrobatic to make all those leaps. Look at her go. I like Akane a lot out of the main cast and dare say she even beats some of the canon characters in most aspects.

2. Rei

Female and Better Byakuya. I’m kinda cheating here honestly this list is of DRA characters but I’m also taking into account her time from SDRA2 sooooooooo…..Rei. Like I said previously, obviously a female Byakuya, I mean she even shares some of the same sprites as him as well as the notes. A tall, smart, and stuck-up jerk who constantly berates the crew and doesn’t want to put up with them for a majority of the run time. Golly, where have I seen this before?~ The reason why she is so much better than her predecessor comes down to two factors. One, her growth comes from not finding the game boring or not wanting to participate like long legged lemon boy, but rather; “…..well fuck. These sentiments got to me. Now I have to help” And two, how she behaves when we next see her in other material, primarily SDRA2. She’s a lot more emotional and compassionate, even striking Tsurugi during that shit he pulled in Chapter 6. Like, let’s go girl! Yaaas! Get hiiiim! Queen shit!

3. Utsuro

I want to go more in depth on the masterminds at a later date, so for now I’ll just say I’m very on the fence about. There are some days I like him and some days I don’t. But I will say that the twist of the protagonist being the mastermind was done really here, and in order to get to the true ending, you have to go down the darker path which is a really nice twist and one I can’t say I could have done better.

4. Teruya

Also kind of cheating with this one but uhhh…sue me :/ Anyway, Teruya was one of the comedic goofballs right behind Haruhiko and Satsuki. Single brain cell trio. I also love his growth, from fighting with Haruhiko in Chapter 4 to wearing his goggles the rest of the game, that character design I love to see! And it carries over in the sequel too. Having Teruya be the one with the killing game experience is a neat concept, even if that aspect wasn’t used all that much. A shame what happened to him though(STUPIDFUCKINGPSYCHOCOPTSURUGIIHATEYOUIHATEYOU-)

5. Kanata

Kanata is a sweet girl, nothing more too it than that. But there ain’t nothing wrong with being a simple, polite, short cinnamon bun. And it really was a shame she had to go like that, I would have liked her to stick around some more. And I’m kind of interested to see what really was LINUJ’s intended purpose for her was……..y’know considering another character he made in the sequel, I don’t want to know actually, Nevermind.

Top 5 SDRA2 Characters

1. Sora

I want to go more in depth with the protagonist’s another day too, but let me just say that SORA IS AN AWESOME CHARACTER AND PROTAGONIST! HELD BACK BY THE FACT THAT SHE ISNT ENTIRELY CANON! SHE WOULD DO GREAT THERE! Ahem! …..Sorry. I love everything about Sora, her sassy attitude, her snarky comments, even hints of showing something darker within her. Sora is a top tier character in my book!

2. Mikado

Also want to talk more about him at a later date, but Mikado is my favorite mastermind! Hands down, bar none, literally beating all of the ones from the main cast! Revealing him right from the jump was genius, because then it was the cast constantly hating him and roasting him. He’s so wacky and goofy that for half of the game, you kinda forget he even is the mastermind. From his charming personality to his cool design and powers, Mikado Sannoji carries the entire game on his back along with Sora.

3. Yoruko

A pink haired love interest for the sassy amnesiac protagonist? Where have I seen this before?~ In all seriousness I think Yoruko’s cool. Her angry behavior and yelling at others can get old at times and some are even unwarranted such in Chapter 4 to Yuki, but underneath that facade lies a girl that is trying her best to protect those close to her after some many hardships in the past. Her relationship is Sora is just adorable and it’s crazy that after Chapter 4 and beyond, she’s the most sane person there. Yoruko may be a tsun-dried-tomato, but she’s the best tsun-dried-tomato Ive ever seen. (Can tomatoes be pink?)

4. Hibiki

Before playing the game: Oh wow, a bully character to the shy girl, again?! Oh geeeez! I can already tell I’m not gonna like her.

After playing the game: OH MY GOOOOD! IM SORRY HIBIKI SWEETIE! DID NOT DESERVE ANY OF THAT!

Getting right to it, I think Hibiki should have survived! Unlike Hiyoko who’s only character development relegated to a blink and you’ll miss it moment in the third chapter. Hibiki was trying from the end of Chapter 2 onwards, so why waste the actually, good, DEVELOPMENT?! I guess it is interesting to see a Chapter 3 with only one victim and two killers this time, but there was no need to drag Hibiki down with it. The general consensus is right, this was wasted potential. Go look up some Hibiki lives AU to ease the pain.

5. Iroha

Ahto-Bleh incarnate. Iroha seemed like the overly kind, ditzy sort of character made for comedic relief, and she is. But making her out to be one of the voids was pretty neat I suppose. It does set her up for some development to overthrow and turn her back Mikado to be with her friends and, …wait what? That, that didn’t happen…? ……GOD FUCKING DAMMIT LINUJ! So Iroha just stays this bratty, annoying, and fearful child the whole way through and learns nary a thing in the process. So I have to ask: why even bother?! Now you may be wondering, why is she high let alone top 5 if I have these issues with her. Well for one, I think she’s kind of funny with all her reactions and expressions, plus knowing the identity of one of the Voids in the group builds tension, and her drawing book has helped several times in trials. And it could just be me imagining a better character than what we actually received. Death to the author folks!
