This big studio shit is so fucking horrendous i cant even. I was invited to a warner brothers uk careers event mere days before the actor strikes and in the midst of the writer strikes. And through this, we get another glimpse at the pure amount of jobs that are going to be destroyed in the most creatuve industry there is because of those ai fuckers and the fact that people wont be paying their workfirce because of it.

Like, i dont think people who arent in the film industry realise just how many jobs there are. Its not just writers and actors that will be affected. Makeup teams, costume designers, milners, floor runners, entire assistant directing teams, casting departments, set runners, screenwriters, producers and production teams, and litterally thousands more aspects that you dont even know could be a job are going to go away almost completely if actors, background or not, become ai generated and edited in by non unionised, overworked cgi artists for the sake of saving higher ups the money. This kind of thing hasnt hit the UK film industry yet, but if nothing is done about it and these comoanies can make it work in the USA, you'd better beleive it'll bleed into the UK film industry too considering how many hollywood projects are actually made in the UK(almost all of them, especially the big budget ones). This is a massive, serious thing that needs public support from all corners because if not, the millions wanting to get into this creative industry have no future. Im one of the people who could no future if this ai thing is taken too far as a studying filmaker. This is important and none of the people striking are lazy or want more pay because theyre selfish, these ai generation tactics are bordeline violating for people who dont vave wny legal rights to take these companies down for using their likeness, voices, faces, written work, draft scripts, art, concepts, etc without their permission to replace them. It is by all demands increadibly fucked up and anyone in support of the use of ai to replace creatives in the film industry, fuck you i hope your favourite films and series get cancelled.

I have a question concerning the WGA strike.

When the strike end and companies start to pay their writters propraly, would you be able to start writing or do you have to wait for the actor union strike to end as well? Sorry if this sound stupid i’m just curious.

I would be able to start writing, but our actors would not be able to start acting.

If you have the crutch you have to stay in jail intell there are only 2 people left in the game 3 if you count the person who just got back in the game, but you have to pay 60 cents since your safe.

Free parking space would be changed to Get away from the bulls

Just visiting will be changed to Helping escape the refuge and if you choose to help someone escape you would have to either role doubles or pay 60 cents to get them out of the refuge.

Also one of the fun cards would be called "Startin a strike" you would have to throw the coins in the air from the bank and try to get more money

The middle of the board is newsies square

Some of the properties would be,

Santa fe

(Basically all of the places in New York that had newsies)

And medda's theater

And more places from the show

If you get passed go you get 200 and it'll be known as "Carryin' the banner"

There will be a couple spots on the board where you get into trouble with the dalanceys. You have to pick one other person to roll one dice and if you roll higher then them your safe but if they roll higher then you you loose 50 cents. But if you get a tie you both pay 25.

If you loose it's not bankruptcy... It's loosin' the strike

Also whoever wins the game is "The King of new york"

I've finishe amber skies, and I'm delighted by it! It's motivated me to work past a writters block, and to consider more my relationship between myself, my environment, and how little thye are separated.

I've started reading emerald seas too, and I'm enjoying it. I look forward to every update ^^ My favorite character is Silence Between Strikes, and it took me a minute to realize she files down her jawbone because she's a lagamorph, what with the perpetually growing teeth. That's a nice touch!

Writter that’s new to tumblr

I actually have zero clue how to operate this app even remotely but I figured hey there’s no better place to write fanfics 🤷‍♀️

I think I’ll mainly be writing for COD, so that includes MWII and cod: Ghosts (because man there aren’t enough fics for my loves) I’ll be writing for pretty much any character in those games that strike my fancy at the moment, but I’m still figuring this app out.

If you're worried about your favourite shows/movies being cancelled/delayed/dropping in quality, instead of complaining about how it impacts you (which can be used by studios to paint striking workers as the bad guy) use your frustration and anger to stand with the WGA, learn why they're striking and what they're asking for, and direct any negative feelings you may have directly at studios who are the reason writers even need to strike.

Batman - One Bad Day: Mr. Freeze.

okay so. let's start with the good things? i very much like the art style and how it was painted. it looks very crunchy, dynamic, solid and expressive, and the designs are delicious. i love how freeze's first suit was inspired by btas, while the more tech-y one gave me a batman beyond vibe. batman himself was written out to be very interesting to read in this verse, especially because of his lack of clear communication and the fact that robin had to basically translate him for people more than once lol. robin was adorable and i feel him. freeze's expressions in Some panels were hilarious to me as a vic writter personally because, yeah. Yeah. thats a freeze body language alright

now onto the bad things: while paul dini's 1997 comic on mr. freeze is a classic, i don't find it very fitting in a more general sense. and i do get the feeling this is the angle this new particular script writer was going for in here too. my issue is that the whole point of freeze's character is that it's a tragic story about love. true love even, or perhaps a man who feels he doesn't have a choice and is forced (from his perspective) to hurt others in order to achieve his goal. he doesn't enjoy hurting people. he doesn't want this life of crime. all he wants is for his wife, his only love, to have a long, happy and healthy life, even if that could still mean she'd one day choose to leave him behind. you're supposed to sympathize with the character, to see him as more morally neutral and to some point even question batman's actions to put him behind bars? he is an anti-villain, not a villain, for a reason.

of course he's done terrible things and i don't excuse them, but this is a man who genuinely truly believes he doesn't have a choice in most of the things he does. when presented when a better alternative, one which is potentially less harmful for anyone, he is known to take it. he was someone who was supposedly a good person before the incident at gothcorp, someone who wanted to help people and the world, but has since started seeing everything more negatively and has started reacting with rage towards anything he may find threatening enough. this is obviously extremely unhealthy, and he definitely needs proper therapy and someone to work with him through all of it if possible.

however, the way i see it, this is a character who would definitely try to improve and better himself positively if given the chance. he craves that sense of normalcy and a less extreme lifestyle. even though he has a list of priorities, nora being at the very top, he would also much rather have what he used to have and be who he used to be, rather than what he has turned into.

the very end was probably the thing that made all of these aforementioned strikes a touch more salvageable for me. he's apprently decided to move on, to maybe improve, to do something good after so long. he feels more free, more human, and it could be a big step in the right direction both for him, and for the characterization as a whole.
