I’ve been a diehard Zutara shipper since forever, but I maintain that the show should have ended without any canon ships except Sokka/ Suki. This “alternate ending” shot is one I’ve wanted to do basically since the finale first premiered, so I’m pleased to have finally drawn it (only 13 years late…).

I keep a journal and used to randomly find prompts off the internet and then write…it was a bit chaotic. So here are some more prompts from ze google doc I keep! Hopefully this helps you if you need something to write about :)

Collect all the ‘leftover’ bits for a week: receipts, fruit stickers, notes, wrappers. Then make a journal page out of them.

Because Oikawa has his group of fangirls that follow him around everywhere, buuuuut Iwaizumi has his own little group and it’s full of underclassmen boys who just fawn over him (kyoutani, kindaichi, & kageyama all look up to him in canon?!) and they just idolize him SO HARD + makki and mattsun definitely tease iwa about it all the time but he has absolutely no idea what they’re talking about (*´□`)<

Five words:

Seijoh's collective crush on Iwaizumi.

Yeah that shit absolutely slaps. Like obviously they don't all have bone fide crushes on the dude--Makki envies and admires his arm wrestling prowess, Mattsun will openly admit that he is firmly in his "if I had to pick a guy" category, Yahaba and Watari look up to their senpai, even Kunimi tolerates him--but you can't tell me Kindaichi does not have a legit crush on him.

Onion head ass loves that man. It's puppy love to the max. He knows, somewhere deep inside, that it'll never work out (not with Oikawa for competition, anyway) but he still adores him. When Iwaizumi tells him "nice kill"? Yeah that shit gives him heart palpitations.

Kyoutani too!!! Don't fuck with me. Kyoutani has a little crush on him, but a crush all the same. It's mostly respect and admiration won from beating Kyoutani at every competition he'd ever initiated, but there is still a tiny nugget of dare-I-say romantic interest. (It would disappear if Iwaizumi ever lost a competition to him, but hey, it's still there).

And of course Oikawa has a massive, throbbing, disgusting gay crush on him. He's over the moon about him at any given moment. His entire brain is devoted to a smitten, glorified image of Iwa-chan and volleyball.

Then when Iwaizumi joins the Japanese National team? You better believe those little shits have crushes on him there, too (but by then he's taken by one extremely territorial setter).

Idk don't you just love the thought of people loving Iwaizumi? That bitch is too dense to ever even notice anyway and that's the best fucking part.

enemies to lovers obviously gets a lot of recognition and yeah, it’s great and all, i love it, but RIVALS TO LOVERS is not talked about enough!! it is such an elite trope!! like, it’s almost a less intense version of enemies to lovers where two people may be on the same “team,” but still have some animosity between them. and the competition, ya know? look at these examples: anne & gilbert, young percy & annabeth, + probably a bunch of haikyuu ships 

idk maybe i’m just projecting bc i love competition (esp academic competition) and love the idea of rivals coming together. heh.
