He’s probably too old to play the character in live-action, but I think Jack Quaid would make a really good Tim Drake. Actually, he and Tawny Newsome have such good platonic chemistry on Lower Decks, they would do great as Tim and Stephanie.

I just realized the other day that Starlight and the Signal have basically the same powers (I think???). And I don’t really know what to do with that information except that I would love for Annie to get a costume like Duke’s bright yellow helmet and body armor. Actually, Duke having a vaguely Magical Girl outfit like Annie’s first costume would be pretty cool, too.

I don’t like it when writers or fans insist that comics like Sandman or Hellblazer don’t take place in the wider DC universe, because
1) It comes off as an excuse for lazy writing.
2) It frequently smacks of an “I don’t think superhero comics can be ReAL ARt” attitude
3) I vastly prefer the idea that every single corner of the DCU is packed with strangeness and trouble. The timeline is big and weird enough for everyone. There is room in this Chuck E. Cheese for all the kids’ birthday parties to descend into tantrums and fights in the ball pit.

I have been working on this WIP for two years and did not, until now, realize what kind of difficulties would be caused by having a character named “Jaina” and a character named “Jannah” in the same scene.

I Know I Haven’t Posted Much In A While, But...
This is still very much an active account.
I am still very much writing.
The past several months have been difficult so I have been short on creative energy. And energy in general.
The conclusion to the Jaina-Solo-in-the-Sequel-Trilogy AU is 100% still coming. (I have written 11K words, at last count, and I’m probably only halfway through.)
The Batman (2022) gave me a serious case of batfamily brain rot, so watch out for that.

I have so many emotions about Obi-Wan’s isolation on Tatooine paralleling Luke’s isolation on Ahch-To and how both truly thought going into exile was the best thing for the galaxy because both viewed themselves as a relic of a Jedi Order that had caused its own destruction but they are BOTH STILL NEEDED because even when the past is dead you STILL NEED TO LEARN FROM IT and they get reminded of that by someone who EMBODIES THE HOPE FOR THE FUTURE THEY NEED TO BE REMINDED OF and it lends further significance to Leia being Rey’s mentor and ugh I’m going make myself cry about Leia Organa again aren’t I?

Obi-Wan [to Leia]: You remind me of somebody...
Me: Yeah, tiny Leia really is serving up some Aunt Ahsoka-worthy sass and backtalk, isn't she?
Obi-Wan: ...Her name was Padme...
Me: Oh, OK, that works, too.

love parallels in media. they just make me feral. love blatantly intentional ones. love parallels that i don’t catch until i’m watching/reading it for the 800th time. love when someone else points out an absolutely insane, heart wrenching one. gotta be my favorite part of deeply loving and knowing a piece of media, especially a tv show

I’m just disappointed that I haven’t seen any fan art of smol Bruce Wayne and smol Kate Kane where the vibe is “If YOU’RE the traumatized queer cousin and I’M the traumatized queer cousin, then who’s flying the batplane?”

The New Batman Is So Good Y'all
Part of my brain: The clever way The Batman (2022) makes use of both the physical and digital gaze is highly evocative of Carol Clover's writing on "looking" in horror film; positioning observation as an active, potentially even violent, behavior. This furthers the movie's themes of discovery, and plays into modern anxieties about surveillance, but simultaneously helps us as the audience empathize with the characters through the importance of what they choose to observe, as well as the recognition that we are experiencing the narrative through a one-way gaze that -
Bigger part of my brain: I LIKED ALL THE PUZZLES AND THE WAY THE BATMOBILE WENT VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

It just...it feels like too much of a coincidence for Reva to be one letter off from Revan...but on the other hand, I can’t imagine an in-universe Revan connection that would make sense?
Unless the Third Sister changed her name after becoming an Inquisitor and it’s an homage to the original Revan. Because in the new canon, we know Darth Revan existed, but that’s about it...

Wow, buir, sorry I couldn't stop by Tatooine to help with your midlife crisis or whatever, but if it makes you feel better, Aunt Meg and I made a new group chat just for memes people are posting about how you're bald now.
