Video explained...
We decided on making the video in black and white to give it a moody feel to the video, when he has his 'trippy' section we made it all in colour to make it seem like his life has got better and suddenly got so much better. Also the over exposed shots are supposed to give the feel of it being in a 'dreamy' state. Then when we reverse the whole thing we put it back to black and white as its like everything has gone moody again and its the same sh*t again. We decided to start and end the shot the same to give a powerful start and finish.

Idea
When listening to the lyrics of the song, we decided to make the video to fit with them. We interpreted them as a man waking up and being set free into the world and just finds himself walking and not knowing where he is going. In life you get approached by lots of different events some of which are bad, in the song its speaks about taking drugs and deciding whether he should take them. The song starts off slow but after the 'drug taking' section its speeds up a bit, we decided to make this as a 'drug tripping' section and that it will be completely different to the rest of the music video. Towards the end of the song it slows down again and we decided we should do a reverse of the video to show it just being another day, and it goes back to him waking up in bed.

Radiohead 'Just' music video, I like the way the music video has a story and it fits in with the lyrics. I love the way the video flicks between different shots, close up and far away. This is something we aim for in our music video

From looking at the brief we were given, we decided to use my friends band 'The Dead Pheasants' and their song 'Walking' as they are an unknown band so it meant we could get full permission to use their song, but also they currently don't have any music videos in which would influence us in our making of one/

This is our brief for our music video project:
'Plan, devise and produce a music video for a music student / band or other performer/actor. The song/music you choose should be between 2.5 and 4 minutes in length. There are no restrictions regarding content, you can be as creative as you wish, you need to demonstrate you have researched other music videos to ensure your idea is exciting, has relevance to the music and could be used to help promote the band/song. it could take the dorm of a drama.'

Quick Idea
Whilst filming the video I came up with the idea of having quick clips of the actual shoes in between the moving films we took. This is almost a subliminal message, as they aren't as obvious as the rest of the clips only lasting a second or two. This was an idea I got when I watched the film 'Fight Club'

Shooting
We decided to shoot our advert on location to give it a 'real' feel to our advert. We went into Cheltenham town center and walked about until we found places in which we felt would make a good back drop or that we could film in. We were blessed with the sun and had a very successful day out.

Expanding on our idea...
Our idea for our brand is to show shoes in lots of different situations, the idea behind this is to show that these shoes are durable and can withstand anything.
Most shoe adverts are just to show what the shoes look like but ours is going to show them being used and show them doing lots of different things, many of which people do every day. Its kind of doing a 'day in the life' but from the prospective of the shoes.

I like the focus on just the shoes with this advert however I think its a bit boring. As a group we are going to take the concept of just focusing on the shoes and nothing else as we feel it distracts from the brand, and make it a lot more fun to watch!

Converse Advert - Dwyane Wade 'From Robbins, Illinois'
Focuses on Converse with clips and close ups on the brand but mainly focuses on Dwyane Wade as a basketball star. By using Wade fans of his will be more influenced to buy the shoes.

We have decided to use the brand Converse!
We thought that this is a good brand to go with as they cater for all ages from babies to adults, and also both male and females. From looking at the photo adverts converse have done most are really colourful, interesting and fun! I really like the captions they right over the images such as 'The right to be real', 'The right to get out' and 'The right to test the water' it gives a more deeper meaning to the brand rather than just shoes.
The brand is quite youthful and seems to have no limits so doing the advert for this means we can have a lot of fun with it.

Zara - The Mood Advertising Campaign Fall Winter 2011/2012
I love this advert!!
I like the mood it creates and the shooting style. The black and white shoot does create a dramatic mood, but for us I think that colour is important to add the essence of fun into it.
I like how the images are quick and in time with the music.The music is really intense and keeps you paying attention.
I find it really interesting how they focus of the shoes, this could be a potential idea for our project!
