Avengers genderbend where every member backstory or appearance is SO DRASTICALLY different due to the gender switch. except Loki who is exactly the same

#think about it #Natasha's Red Room training would've probably put her in a program closer to the winter soldier one right #Thor doesn't get with the masc cultural standard of Asgard anymore he's some hyperfeminine girlypop who wants to also slay enemies despite #steve rogers wouldn't have been expected to go to war at all but let's suppose he fought to get there and was serum selected for her heart #her stage performances would have been different for sure so the eventual combat outfit would have been different. for sure #Tony Stark being a smart woman in STEM would've had to face more pressure to prove her place in the field #probably makes her actually arrogant but more aware of the impact her work has. probably outspoken about sexist double standards #probably would come off as less reckless for decisions after creating the armour though #bet the tech bros hate her even tho she leads the field #probably seen as more of the leader of the avengers even tho normally cap is seen more that way #clint barton idk #outfit change #everyone with drastically different designs and Loki there like ‘hi’

MARVEL Headcannon #6:

Everyone knows how Steve (and probably Bucky, let's be real) are technologically inept, right? Well, you know who else would also be technologically inept? Thor and Loki, but not for the reasons you think.

See Steve (and Bucky, but maybe he has some tech training as the WS, I can't see HYDRA not teaching him how to hack, so really just trivial things such as using social media might confuse him) has the problem of literally jumping forward in time. Thor and Loki would have the exact opposite problem.

Asgard is like this super advanced place that has literal magic and stuff. It's more than safe to assume that despite keeping older aesthetic, they are a highly advanced civilization that is a perfect blend of traditional and innovative technology. The technology of the 21st century here on earth would probably be something that predates them on Asgard, like how telegrams predate everyone currently alive.

So, while Steve is coming forward in time, Thor and Loki are going back in time technology-wise. And that's why they struggle. It would be like if teens today tried to figure out how to use a telegram (or a phone booth/rotary phone) when they are so used to touchscreen.

Loki is a very adaptable person and is the literal God of Fake-It-Till-You-Make-It, and Bucky has been trained (conditioned) to observe and learn (hence the staring problem) so those two are better at hiding their confusion with technology, but Steve and Thor? Yeah, those two visibly struggle.

The four of them have a "support group" of sorts, where they're just trying to figure tech out. Honorable group members include Carol Danvers and Peter Quill, who are alien tech whizzes, and yet are still stuck using 80's tech Earth-wise.

remember how in loki s1 we received a cartoon clock breaking down all of the elements of the sacred timeline in the simplest possible terms, and despite it being fairly straightforward and speaking directly to the audience, the fandom proceeded to not understand that for two years, leading to Wild Discourse?

When fandoms collide...

How about a Loki - Pacific Rim AU?

Could be one of the various timelines! The kaiju are actually beasts from a mysterious place (probably Kang doing shenanigans in this timeline). They’re being sent to take over Midgard and the other 9 realms. Loki is sent, along with Thor, as ambassadors to Midgard to help since Asgard has technology that can help. Eventually, with Loki’s help, there are some jaegers developed that run on magic (thank you @voxmyriad for that bit of inspiration! ) and the pilots of those need to have a non-magic co-pilot for hand-wavy reasons. Loki had one, lost one, then, through a series of convenient events, they discovered a J-tech named Mobius might potentially be drift compatible with Loki Loki, of course, scoffs at the idea and a beautiful partnership is born

I imagine Sylvie and Verity (Hunter-B15) another jaeger pilot pair

OB and Casey as a J-Techs for Loki/Mobius and Sylvie/Verity respectively

Of course Hermann and Newton are there still as the K-science team cuz I can't not have them, along with our favorite characters from Pacific Rim and Loki
