“So they're just gone?”
You turn your neck to glare at your friend. Ever since you mentioned your migraines to him one day and he saw one of your episodes once or twice — a little bit more than that — he hasn't stopped bugging you about it. He wanted you to go to the doctors to get checked out. Until, well. Until the migraines miraculously vanished. Your head never bothered you anymore and you're even sleeping better, given the lack of dark circles around your eyes.
Harry wasn’t having it.
First and foremost, he did not believe continuous migraines were cured just like that. Overnight. Because how come he saw you incapable of watching a lecture one day and you're perfectly fine on the other?
Either you are popping some pills or someone magically healed you.
He didn't like any of the options.
He was still worried, okay? Harry cares. He may not be loud with it, but it's you, so he cares. And he cares a lot. You should know better than to just outright lie to him.
“Yes. Why does it matter? I'm fine, shouldn't you be happy I'm no longer whining on your shoulder?”
“You're not taking drugs, are you?”
A surprised laugh echoed around the room and he almost felt his body melt at the sight of your curled up frame from how much you were laughing.
“It amazes me,” you said between chuckles. “that you'd think I'd pull that off.” Not without him knowing, at least. You and Harry are side by side for almost the entire day.
“I don't doubt you.”
“You're losing faith in me.”
“I never had it.” He huffs out a laugh when you throw a pillow at his face, hitting him right on his nose. He fell on his bed with a groan, you moved his homework out of the way before he could mess it up by laying on top of it.
“Just... tell me if it gets to that point again, okay?
You look at him, contemplating something that he can't figure out. With the way you avoid his eyes as you answer, he knows you decided to say something else instead of that first thought. “I will. But it won't.” He found the conviction in your voice strange. You can't know if it will ever get that bad again. Just as the migraines miraculously left, they might come back.
He didn’t question it further.
You went back to your homework, sharing some insights on his as he does with yours. It didn’t last long until your phone started blaring beneath the pillow you're perched on, the sound being slightly muffled by the fabric.
You feel Harry's teasing before he can sputter out a sentence.
“Shut up.” You hissed, picking up the call without looking at the caller ID.
“One Direction. Really?”
“Hello.” You pointedly turn away from his smirky face. You have to take the phone away from your ear due to some loud police sirens that come from the line.
“Hi, hello!” The distinctive voice of Peter Parker replies. Yelling. That was the only way you would be able to hear him anyway. “There's been a thing and I— Shit!”
You concluded the phone is thrown away because his voice suddenly sounds very far.
You offered Harry a lousy excuse to step out into the hallway, frowning at the other voices and the police sirens you could hear.
“Peter, you—”
“I'm back!” Again, you take the phone away from your ear with a sigh. “Sorry, I was— I was busy.” You gathered that fact by the way he sounded breathless.
“Are you running?”
“No!” The noise proceeded to quieten down and you raise an eyebrow at his blatant lie. “Sorry, was I loud? Feels like I was being loud. Sorry.” A door is closing and he's groaning at the end of the line. Instead of finding it funny, you start to get worried, picturing a dislocated shoulder or maybe a deep gash on his arm like last time.
You and Peter made an agreement. When you agreed to be friends again — part of that starting over bullshit that was your idea — you and him worked on filling each other out on both of your lives. Just catching up as good friends do. Less than a month later you were patching up his wounds as if you never had stopped doing that in the first place. Sometimes, you'd even think you were back where you started as if it was all back to the start of your story in Queens. Midtown. Making plans with Ned and Peter for the weekends. Sitting with MJ at lunch as much as she claimed she hated company. . .
There was a pull at your chest every time you remembered it wasn't like this. You weren't back at that time. You couldn't go back. You only had the now and it had to be enough. It was enough.
“Peter, are you hurt?” But you still felt the same agony whenever the idea of Peter being hurt came across your mind. An unsettling fear settling up in your core.
“No.” he shuffled around, clearing his throat. His voice was back for you to hear it clearly. “I'm fine. Just a bank robbery downtown and I—” he paused to let out a heavy sigh. “I'm sorry I'm late, I'll be there in a second, okay?”
You blink, confused. “What? Late for what, Peter?”
“Hanging out?” He said followed by a tinge of uncertainty. “Uh, you said that after class—”
Your brows shot up in recognition. “Oh! Yeah, that's—” Then you checked the time on your phone. You were supposed to meet after class to hang out around 5 p.m. It was still 3 in the afternoon. “Peter,” you held in a chuckle. “That's like, two hours away. You're not late.”
There's silence on his end and you start laughing.
“Oh,” he mumbled, letting out a breath of relief. “That's— That's good. I was thinking that I was like really really late and—”
“You're good, webs.” You softly reassured him. Peter has been working really hard to make sure he doesn't mess up with you again. That included arriving early at places. “Are you at home?”
“Yeah, I just got here.”
“Mhm. And you're not hurt at all?”
“Just a few scratches,” Peter answered with hesitancy. You smiled triumphantly. Not because you're happy he's hurt but because you knew you were right. “I'm fine, alright? You don't have to come.”
“Okay.” You said, stepping back into your dorm room, catching Harry eying your frame from your bed curiously. “No broken limbs though, right?”
Peter's scoff put a smile on your lips. “Have some faith in me. I can handle a robbery.”
The joke Spiderman can handle a robbery but Peter Parker is still clumsy almost slips out but, thankfully, you remember you're not alone.
“Sure. I'll see you later.”
“Hey,” he called your name before you could hang up so you waited for him to speak. “Do you— are you going— how are you— I mean...”
“Peter, breathe.”
You didn’t notice Harry's eye-roll, too busy cracking up at Peter's stuttering mess.
“Okay. Alright. Are you going by yourself? Cause I can pick you up and we can go, you know, so you don't have to go alone?” He clarified, a strain in his voice as if he's been choking up to say that.
“Oh. Harry and I are going to head out together, actually. He's here.”
You patiently waited for his response. “Of course. Yeah. Okay. I'll see you later then. You and— and Harry. And everyone else.”
“Yeah.” You sat down on the bed, biting the inside of your cheek. A weird feeling of guilt in in your chest. “See you later, then. Bye.”
You don't know why you feel guilty about turning him down. All of you would meet in the same place anyway so it's not like you weren't gonna see him, right? It's just a matter of logistics.
“Was that your boyfriend?”
You gave Harry a blank stare as you threw your phone to the side to go back to your assignment. One of his eyebrows arched up in defiance, he played your game of not looking away for a few minutes before you got sick of it.
“I wonder if the reason you're bothered by Peter is because you secretly have a crush on him.”
He looks away first and your lips spread into a satisfied smirk.
“Parker's not my type.” Harry uttered, leaning over your lap to mark a question that you had gotten wrong. His curls tickling your chin. “And this is wrong. It's not fifteen, it's fifty.” He decided to add for good measure, stepping out of your personal space. “I'm not bothered by him.”
You hummed quietly, erasing the previous calculation to redo the math.
“Who is your type anyway?” You asked, trying to cut through the tension. Every time you mention Peter, Harry's mood shifted. He got too quiet. He just didn’t like him for some reason you couldn't yet figure out. Peter and he haven't met before, that much you know. You claim you'll be out of this, because it's none of your business, some people just don't like each other, it happens. But you're curious and if the opportunity to find out the X of the equation comes, you won't run from it.
“You'll never know.” His mumble is so low that you wouldn't have heard it if you weren't sitting so close to each other. He steals the pen you were using, earning a frown from you. “I like this one better.”
“Buy one for you then,” you complained, not moving to get the pen back from him. You take the one he was using instead, eager to finish the assignment so you can have the rest of the afternoon free with your friends.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[Pete]: (Picture attached)
[Pete]: Do you want this back?
When you opened the text message, your breath hitched. The image Peter had sent you showed the red scarf, the one you never let go of. You hadn't seen it in a while, ever since... Ever since you paid him a visit that night. The night you were set on burning the scarf along with that collection of pictures you found in your room.
You've been to Peter's place countless times after that, though. You wondered why he never mentioned anything.
[You]: Keep it.
You sighed, conflicted with that short answer. You weren't being rude, you didn't meant to be. But you didn't need the scarf anymore. Not when you have him back in your life. You realized the scarf represented everything the two of you lived and everything you didn't.
You didn't want it back. You weren't ready.
Not now, at least. You hoped he wouldn't be hurt by it.
[You]: Maybe one day you can give it back to me.
Satisfied with your reply, you slipped your phone into your pocket, standing up to help Harry carry five smoothies toward your table. Ned and MJ were on their way, as for Peter, you figured it was the same. His apartment wasn't that far from where you were.
“I know a loser when I see one.”
“Hello, MJ.” You greeted after taking the first sip of your smoothie. You offer her hers and she bumps your hip, sitting beside you in the booth as a greeting. “Where's Ned?” You asked, frowning now that you didn't see the boy arriving along with her. They were always together.
She shrugged, leaning back. “He said he would be ten minutes late. He was gonna get Peter so they could go to this store nearby his place before coming here.”
You didn't take long to acknowledge which store she was talking about. An eye roll later, you crack out a smile in amusement.
“The Star Wars one?”
She nodded and the three of you quickly entered a conversation about a movie that was airing on the local theatre. Ned and Peter arrived in the middle of your discussion, a few bags in their hands that earned your curiosity.
“Did you buy the whole store?” You joked, the edge of your lips curling up as Peter sat down in front of you, placing two little bags on the corner of his seat.
Peter raised an eyebrow at you, amusement all over his features. “Did I?”
“Looks like it.”
“Oh, this is—!” Ned exclaimed, taking a sip of his smoothie. Harry held back a laugh at the boy's blissed-out state. “You got it right.” He then pointed at Harry accusingly. “I love you.”
Harry shrugged, “I know.”
“The one time I got your order wrong—” MJ begins.
“You never get the right one.” Ned deadpanned, interrupting MJ's speech. The girl kicked his chin under the table and Ned proceeded to kick hers back. Just before the childish fight could escalate, you pull both of their ears and hear whining asking you to stop.
Peter and Harry were chucking and you have to backtrack because Harry wasn't glaring at Peter for the first time. Is this progress?
After a mindless walk to the nearest park, all of you silently decided to stick around for a while longer, basking in what was left of the sunset and the hues of orange, pink and blue that mixed together to form the purple sky of the evening.
You teased MJ at her inability to stop texting her girlfriend while in an evening among friends and she flipped you off immediately, blushing. She's been seeing Felicia Hardy for two months and from what you could see, it was becoming rather serious, even though MJ still cannot admit it. You know your best friend and her hidden smiles and secret joy because of a new person she's interested in.
“No, no, no. You don't get it. It's like different universes in one— Actually, no. Multiple universes that are currently happening right now. You could be you, but you're, I don't know, a villain in this other universe, while here, you're just Harry.”
Both of your and Peter's neck snapped as you turned towards the conversation between Harry and Ned.
Harry carried a crease between his brows, confusion twisting the corner of his lips.
“So I'm me... but different?”
Ned nodded vehemently. He'd always get excited whenever the topic of multiverse was brought up.
You, on the other hand, were tense and you did not have to look at Peter to know his reaction as well.
“I'm sure in every reality you're an entitled filthy rich bastard the same way. Don't worry.” MJ’s comment was enough you breathe again. Peter’s awkward laugh at your side.
Harry rolls his eyes, “and I'm sure you're sarcastic and bitchy about anything and anyone, Jones.”
You throw your head back to stare up at the sky.
“Children.” You mocked. Peter attempted to hide his laugh but he was not successful. You found it endearing how his cheeks slowly turned pink. It reminded you of when you were kids, he'd turn into a tomato every time he tried to hold in his laugh. “Behave.”
They initiated a bickering about she started it and he started it and Ned made a comment to side with Harry to add fire to the flames.
Sometimes you thought they could remember and then reality crashed down the moment for what it truly was. It could be good and bad at the same time. Bittersweet might be the right term to name the feeling. Of course you miss everything that was, but what currently is is also good, in a way. You have your people, despite the losses, you have him back and it's all that you could ask for.
“Peter.”
He gives you a sheepish smile, looking down at his shoes as he buried his hand in his jacket.
“Did you like it?”
You close the small box carefully. “How could I not? It's beautiful. I loved it.” You said, then punched his shoulder playfully. He pretends it hurts, but you know it doesn't. “Don't spend that much money on me, Parker.”
Peter shrugged, playing the nonchalant part. “I'll do what I want, actually.”
“You're such an annoying little shit, aren't you?”
He shrugged again, this time he's got a cocky grin and a little smug attitude you recognized from when he got an answer right and you got one wrong in an assignment. It's a glimpse of the carefree nature of Peter Parker. He's a little bit proud at times, but still clumsy around people, shy between strangers, and wears his heart on his sleeve for the people he truly cares about.
“You love it.”
“Help me,” you asked him when everyone stopped by the fountain on your way back to university. You had your back to him and he finally understood what he was supposed to do when he saw your fingers holding the two parts of the necklace behind your neck. He stepped forward, taking both parts from your hands and freezing once your fingers met. Your skin was cold. You shivered as he clasped the necklace, adjusting with a shaky sigh. His throat moved under his hard gulp. “Thank you.” You turned around with the little rose gold maple leaf pendant around your neck.
Peter blinked at you in a daze. The streetlight illuminated your figure as you moved your hair away from your shoulders so it wasn't curling around the necklace anymore.
You're beautiful. So beautiful.
As soon as he saw the maple leaf pendant, you came into his mind. It reminded him of the Fall, your favorite season, which, of course, led him to you. Funny that everything, somehow, lead him to you. He doesn't know what his life would be if it didn't. Nothing would make much sense, honestly. Peter didn't know how the other Peter Parkers handled losing you in their universe. It was such a difficult thought for him to even consider. His initial goal was to protect you and if that meant he had to let you go, then so be it. He would do it. Because you deserved a life without the mess that was his life. You deserved peace and happiness. But that plan backfired when he saw you crossing the street to reach a coffee shop. It was 8pm in the evening and he was on patrol. He had stopped two robberies an hour before so he was getting ready to go home and throw himself into bed, give a rest to his alter ego for the night. Until you showed up, crossing the street so distracted that a car almost hit you. Peter pulled you back in time, a hand on your shoulder to steady you from the scare of the car horn. You had been crying and at the moment Peter's only thought was to comfort you and figure out who had made you feel that way.
“Myself.” You laughed, tearfully. “Sorry. I wasn't paying attention.”
He convinced himself that from that point on he had to watch over you, to simply make sure you wouldn't cross the street without looking both ways again, or trip mad and get a severe head injury. He'd watch you from afar, it couldn't do any harm.
In reality, that was Peter's way of not letting you go and it had not been fair to either one of you. Especially you, who earned headaches and migraines and insomnia because of memories begging to come back, memories that shouldn't have been removed at all.
Peter disappointed you. He disappointed himself too — and probably Aunt May, who must be shaking her head in disapproval wherever she was watching over him from. He's slowly making peace with himself after everything. He's finally seen that having you close by was better than the heartache of letting you go and trying foolishly to move on. He didn't want to move on from you and if that was selfish. . . that was fine. Peter was never anything besides selfless his entire life. And if you wanted to be in his life, why couldn't he want to be in yours?
He would acknowledge the past and make the best out of the present. As for the future, well, he wasn't concerned, it would probably lead him to you. As always.

the memories of a life i never lived, chapter six
Pairing: MCU!Peter Parker x Stark!Reader
Warnings: mention of may's passing :(
Words: 1K
Previous Chapter - Next Chapter
The next morning when you woke up, you had to take a moment to remember where you were. It wasn’t until you saw Peter asleep next to you that you remembered the events of the day before. Before you could fully orient yourself, another memory found itself at the forefront of your mind.
You’d spent the night at Peter’s house for the first time, the two of you embracing the calm moments as the sunlight leaked into the room through his curtains. You loved the quiet more than anything, as the compound was always bustling and loud.
“Peter!” May’s voice from the next room made the both of you jump, with you falling out of his arms and scrambling to your feet and Peter sitting up so quickly he nearly smacked his head against the wall behind him.
The door opens and you take a step back, standing awkwardly as May blinks at your presence.
“Oh, Y/N!” She grinned. “I didn’t know you were here! How are you?”
“I’m good,” You force a smile, trying to tame your bedhead. May turned to Peter, muttering something about getting up, before giving you another wide smile.
“May!” Peter groaned, his head falling back onto the pillow.
“What did you say?” When you look at Peter, his gaze is already fixated on you.
“May.” You repeat quietly, the name coming to you with the fogginess of a fading dream.
He said nothing, feeling like the wind had been knocked out of him.
You scoured your mind further, the next words spilling from your lips before you could think about it.
“I’m so sorry.”
Deep in your mind, you could almost remember her. Not how you met her or why you were so close to her, but you could see her face so clearly. May Parker, who let you stay the night whenever you needed a break from the fast-paced world of the avengers. May Parker, who caught you sneaking out of a bedroom window when you weren’t fast enough. May Parker, who died a few months ago, in the arms of…
You looked up at Peter, who had a distant look in his eyes before he blinked it away, forcing himself out of bed.
“Big day,” He sighed, plastering a smile on his face for a moment before digging through his closet and tossing you a sweater.
You threw it on, but you couldn’t help but notice how Peter’s eyes saddened when he saw you wearing his clothes.
In truth, his heart ached at the sight. Having you so close but so far away was killing him, and it took every bit of strength he’s ever had to force the pain away and pretend that he was fine just to keep you from worrying.
“Come on,” You followed him out of the apartment, letting him bring you up to a rooftop nearby.
When you set foot on the roof, the familiarity of it all almost knocked you off your feet.
“I feel… like I can remember this place…” You paused, taking in the view of the city.
“This is where I took you to tell you…” He took a deep breath, staring straight ahead. “That I’m Spiderman.”
You spun around, facing him with wide eyes.
“You…?”
He nodded, still staring forward, avoiding looking at you.
“So when I was asking Spiderman if he knew Peter Parker…?” You thought back to when you’d called him, frantic about the boy who plagued your mind, and how he left you so abruptly.
“Yeah.” Peter finally looked at you, wringing his hands together. “It was me.”
You glanced at him for a moment before looking back to take in the view of New York
“You’re…” You stared at Peter, giving you a nervous smile in his Spiderman suit. He’d ripped the mask off moments ago, revealing his deepest secret to you.
“Surprise?”
“Peter, do you know what this means?” You felt giddy, barely containing the laugh that escaped you.
“…That I’m Spiderman?”
“No! Well, yes, obviously, but that means we’ve found each other two separate times!”
He tilted his head in confusion, brows furrowing together.
“Pete, my dad is Tony Stark! You’ve been going on patrols every night with me!”
He stared at you blankly for a moment before laughing in disbelief.
“You can’t be serious.”
“Say something?” Peter’s voice brought you back, a worried look on his face.
“I think I remember that.” You whispered, taking a few steps until you were standing beside Peter.
He took a seat on the edge of the rooftop, resisting the urge to put his arm around you when you followed his movement.
“This was my best bet, honestly. Doctor Strange made everyone forget Peter Parker, but clearly people still remember Spiderman. I was thinking that, if you could remember this, it might jumble together a bit.”
Peter hated that he could remember every bit of it. He hated that he could remember all the late nights and early mornings you’d spent together. He hated that the memory of him swinging you here before dawn to watch the sunrise while you were half awake was imprinted in his mind forever when it had been so cruelly taken from yours.
He fought back the tears, giving you a warm smile.
“I still don’t understand why you wouldn’t rather watch the sunrise as the tower,” Peter said, gently setting you down on the rooftop.
You rolled your eyes, taking a seat at the edge, dangling your feet over the edge and offering Peter half of the thick blanket you brought with you. He gladly took it, pulling you into his arms.
The first hints of daylight began to peek over the horizon, and Peter couldn’t help but admire the twinkle in your eyes.
“This view will beat the Avengers Tower every time, are you kidding me?”
“Why’s that?” Peter asked, nudging you playfully.
“Because it’s our spot.” You grinned, laughing at how caught off guard Peter looked. He was always surprised when you reminded him how much you loved him, and a part of you knew it was because he never expected to experience love, which only made you more determined to show him how easy he was to love.
“You’re so cheesy.” He tried to hide his blush, to no avail.
You hummed, leaning further into him. “Maybe. But you love me.”
“I do.” He agreed instantly. “I really do.”

Oh gosh. I'm watching Madame Web review and just realised I've confused the main actress with Zooey Deschanel. When I've heard the movie was a flop, I felt pity: "Awwwww, that's a shame, Zooey is a nice actress". But then I've started watching the review and realisation shocked me. It's that chick from 50 shades. Oh. Ooooooooooooooooooh. Oh no. That's... that's bad. Then I felt a bit stupid for such confusion - until I compared their photos. Um. Welp. They do look somewhat similar. Though I like Zooey much more :D Zooey on the left, Dakota on the right.

Considering Marvel movies, I'm not a fan of MCU, though me and my mom enjoyed Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and Tom Holland's Spiderman 1, altogether I feel quite indifferent to it. I mostly watch reviews on Youtube to know what people are talking about nowadays x) I'd say I loved Marvel cartoon TV-series from the 90s when I was a kid, especially X-men. My favourites were Wolverine and Rogue+Gambit, it's classic, come on. Ah, Rogue and Gambit. My first "will they won't they", I shipped them hard even when I was 7.

After a devastating tragedy left him with no parents and his world completely upside down, Leo Valdez, a dorky teenager from Houston somehow finds himself living in queens new york with his aunt
As if this wasn’t enough changes to handle all at once, it’s also easily a week after he got bit by that stupid spider before he actually notices he has…
Superpowers, he guesses
He really has no idea what else you’d call it
He thinks it’s really fucking annoying at first
Most notably it made all his sensory issues way worse
For a while he views it as another annoying inconvenience he has to deal with
It’s when something happens
When there’s a minor robbery like 2 blocks away from his apartment that he realizes oh shit
Wait
I could do something about that
He can prevent bad shit from happening
He can stop people from hurting
Which is all he's ever wanted
With several all nighters and a lot of hyperfocus he comes up with a costume, weapons, even a name
His grades in chemistry class suddenly shoot up
Pun intended
So he can figure out how to make webs
Once it clicks he's like how has no one else figured this out yet
It's so obvious
He gets his homework done so fucking fast
Cause he also has to learn to sew for his diy costume
Settling on a design was hard
He learns he is definitely not a fashion designer
Eventually he decides to pay homage to his favorite vine
Once this boy hits the streets???
It's on
He's so good at adventuring and super heroing and saving people
It's easily one of his two favorite things
The other one being coming up with new weapon ideas
It takes so much self control not to use webs as a stim toy
He is the CE FUCKING O of battle banter
You thought the other spidermen were quippy???
Leo is 100000 times worse
He basically can't shut up during a fight which has made for some hilarious news footage
There are compilations on YouTube of spiderman roasting criminals for 3 minutes straight, spiderman being an icon for 7 minutes straight
And his personal favorite
Spiderman being the face of gen z for 11 minutes straight
Whenever people at school notice he's way more distracted than usual
Which has been a lot more lately
He's like yeah just adhd things lol
Instead of having to tell them that he’s a semi nocturnal crime fighting arachnid lad
When he’s finally contacted by Tony Stark?????? He loses his fucking SHIT
He has encyclopedic knowledge of Stark industries
So when Tony motherfucking Stark takes one look at his web shooters and starts praising him
Tells him he has real potential, he’s onto something kid
Then tells him he wants him to start training to help the avengers and possibly eventually become part of the team???????
God he loses his fucking SHIT
His aunt is so fucking proud of him for getting an internship with tony stark
Every time he either comes up with something or works with Tony on something Tony’s like wow
Maybe I should start an actual internship for gifted stem kids
Cause this boy gets so much serotonin from being a friendly neighborhood spiderman
Whoever you are to him
His best friend, Tony’s kid that he definitely has a crush on, the cutie from his compsci class, the hot barista he always hopes he’ll run into
Even just a civilian who’s paths happened to cross
Jesus he’s down bad for you so fast
If you know him out of costume he probably gets really nervous to talk to you
In spite of how much he wants to
If you don’t really know him outside of the whole super hero thing
Oh my god
He will show boat and pull so many stunts as spidey
Cause god damn he wants to impress you
If you don’t already know his secret
Motherfucker the temptation to tell you is so fucking strong
Regardless of how or when you find out
You end up being his most trusted ally
He’s rescued you more times than either of you can count
The feeling of him pulling you close to his chest just in time to keep you out of harm’s way
Especially by yoinking you closer with his webs?????
Adorable!!! Heart fluttering!!!!
And god after a battle or fight when you’re all (probably) back at stark tower
And he just pulls off the mask
And his hair is all mess????????
His cheeks are all flushed???????
So fucking cute
God he’s so fucking attractive
It’s not fair
And fuck me he’ll spider man kiss you every chance he gets
You’re walking home one night and you pull out your phone to check the time
You get a glimpse of the one and only spider man lowering himself upside down behind you
You put away your phone
“You know, you should really be more careful walking home. All the creeps come out at night.”
You turn to him, gazing at his red and blue attire, the eyes of his mask moving as he talks
You suppress a grin
“Yeah, we wouldn’t want some weirdo in brightly colored spandex to follow me home, and sneak up behind me, and start talking to me out of nowhere.”
“Yeah, that guy sounds like a real freak.”
“Oh, definitely.” You muse
“You know, I don’t think a thank you from saving me from hooligans when I’m out in the middle of the night, spider man, would be out of place…”
You chuckle, stepping closer
You pull his mask up, pressing a warm kiss to his lips
He caresses your jawline, and you feel the sleek, textured fabric of his suit against your skin
After you eventually pull away, it’s silent for a moment
You’re taking each other in, being in this moment together, the noises of the city providing a familiar background track
He’s smiling, and you can see it, his mask still pulled up
“... that works too.”
You both descend into giggles
He makes sure you get home safe
He usually does
You wave to him outside your bedroom window one more time
He reciprocates the gesture, then shoots a web onto a nearby building, zipping off into the night
You let out a sigh, watching him quickly melt into the darkness outside
He may be your friendly neighborhood spider man
But you and him both know he’s really your friendly neighborhood spiderman

I left for a it but I’m back now and better than ever!
So a bit about me, I write on AO3, same name, for mostly Batfam and MCU. Timmy and Peter Parker specifically. I’m an angst writer but I also do some art!! Doodles mostly, I’ve recently revamped my style so I’d love to have prompts to try and do.
So basically, you can literally request anything, from writing sprints to Drabbles to headcannons to doodles. I’ll do it to the best of my ability.
Fandoms:
DC~ mostly Tim Drake-centric, young justice comics(core four), Batfam, Red Robin, TimKon, TimBer, young justice(TV show), StephCass, batgirls
Marvel~ Spiderman(literally ANYTHING, spider verse, miles, silk, Peter Parker is my fav but they are all my babies), MCU, Marvels rising, Kamala Khan
Stranger Things ~ I’m a Steve fan tbh, more specially single mom Steve
I have other fandoms that sometimes I write about, but that’s mostly on my vent blog, I don’t mind prompts for those as well.
I also doodle my own kitties and have my own OCs that I hope to post on here as well, but for now
Ask me literally anything!!
(Might revamp this post when I’m not in class later haha)

Loki Season 2, Episodes 2&3
Theories & Breakdowns
Okay, I just finished watched episode three of the second season of the Loki series and I know that there is A LOT to keep track of in the Marvelverse and that it can be confusing. Trust me, peeps, I started getting into Marvel in a hardcore way all the back in 2004 back when google was practically useless cause it was bogged down by ads and every other link led to a porn website. The only advice I got when I asked for help on getting into the comics was, "Just pick one."
It was very unhelpful advice because X-Men was my jam back then and this was before House Of M had been written to clean up the Marvelverse. So there were literally a dozen different X-Men stories going at once and ALL of them were set in alternate universes in alternate timelines with various tie-ins to the Avengers, Spiderman, Fantastic Four, ect. Forums and the Marvel online encyclopedia was a gift from the Gods.
So I wanted to talk about some theories and tie-ins to the comics and other aspects of the MCU. That way people aren't confused and there will be less bitching.
Narnia Time
One thing that I noticed a lot of people were confused by is Loki referencing the events of Avengers (2012) like it happened a long time ago even though it had really only been a few weeks. If you go back and watch the first two episodes, though, you will notice that Brad has much longer hair in the second episode. This means that he probably has been in that particular universe or time branch for a while and remember
Time passes differently in the TVA.
In C.S. Lewis's The Chronicles Of Narnia -- specifically The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe -- the Pevensie children disappear through the magical wardrobe into the land of Narnia where they reside for YEARS after defeating the White Witch and becoming the new monarchs of Narnia. But at the end of the book, the Pevensies wander out of the wardrobe and back into their own world where it turns where only a few MINUTES have passed. Cause time passes differently.
youtube
Brad's new do and the fact that time passes differently in the TVA has me wondering if the TVA doesn't also operate on Narnia time. It wouldn't be all that surprising because the Loki series would not be the first piece of media to borrow this particular element of the Narnia saga. It was also a very important plot point in the 1999 anime Digimon Adventure01 (AKA Digimon: Digital Monsters) which was based off of the Japanese handheld toy and PlayStation 1 video game.
Both of which predate the Pokemon manga and anime, by the way.
It would be incredibly, laughably ironic though because the TVA is a pretty obvious metaphor for Christofascism and Narnia was written by C.S. Lewis to indoctrinate children into Christianity. Seriously, one of the books in the series called The Horse & His Boy is an Islamophobic shitrag about a boy from Narnia that rescues a girl from a very obviously Middle Eastern-inspired desert nation and brings her back to Narnia. Which at the end of the series we find out is some sort of metaphor for purgatory and Aslan is Jesus, I think.
It's been a long time since I read the books.
I just think that's hilarious and also 100% logical given that the Loki series seems to be a crossover of Agent Of Asgard and the Kang Dynasty that's building up to Avengers Forever. I'll talk about that more in a bit.
Amnesia?
The other thing that people seemed confused by when Loki referenced Avengers (2012) is that he seemed to be taking full responsibility for the ordeal. I mentioned in another post that in the first Avengers movie Thanos more than likely told Loki about the Infinity Stones, but very conveniently left out the fact that the Mind Stone which was encased in his staff would make him act like a giant, tantrum throwing douchenozzle and very easy to manipulate. I think that Loki taking responsibility for the Chitauri invasion supports that theory somewhat and also suggests that
Loki still hasn't figured out that the Mind Stone had any effect on him and therefore blames himself for the events that took place in the first Avengers movie.
Because it is canon that he was being controlled by the Mind Stone and manipulated by Thanos. This was confirmed by Marvel back in 2019.
If this is confusing then go back and do a very thorough rewatch of Avengers (2012) and Avengers: Age Of Ultron. It is in AoU that we find out that the Mind Stone is encased in the staff that was given to Loki by Thanos in the first Avengers film.
Who Built Miss Minutes?
In episode three, Miss Minutes said that Kang built her as an AI program to play chess with, but history has proven that Miss Minutes doesn't exactly have a great a track record and might not actually be trustworthy. Not only that but there is a theory trending that the Loki series building up to the Avengers Forever story arc from the comics. In the Avengers Forever story, Avengers from across the multiverse are brought together to take down a team of evil super villains by the Avenger Prime who is none other than Loki himself. And the guy leading the villains is Viktor von Doom -- AKA Doctor Doom who is the Big Bad in the Fantastic Four, but also a prevalent villain in other characters' arcs. Like everyone has gone head-to-head with Doom and his Doom Bots.
So is it possible that in an alternate timeline Kang and Doctor Doom knew each other, and Doom built or helped build Miss Minutes's AI program and Kang took credit for Doom's work? Or could a Doom variant using Miss Minutes to communicate with Kang and manipulate him?
Also there is a Fantastic Four movie in the works at Marvel, but it is still in pre-production. It would make sense that there would be some sort of a tie-in with all the multiverse shenanigans. Kingo from the Eternals was even briefly referenced in an easter egg in episode two of the Loki series.
Fascism
This is something I don't particularly like to talk about on this blog because it gets into my own personal religious beliefs. Which I have been mocked and discriminated against because of by asshole atheists on this app.
If you're an atheist with a bone to pick with religious people because you refuse to get therapy for your PTSD this is your opportunity to kindly fuck off👌🏻
But since Loki is based off of the Norse God it's kind of unavoidable. Especially with the giant looming statues of Thor, Odin, and Baldr in episode three. I know people are gonna have questions.
Those statues were a nod to modern day Norse Paganism and Loki sneering at them, I think, is Tom Hiddleston's and Marvel's way of saying they don't exactly approve of how things are going in the community.
That is because there is a very serious problem with Nazis and fascism in the Norse Pagan and Pagan community in general.
What the Loki series was referencing in episode three is called Folkish/Volkish Heathenry -- Heathenry is a synonym for Norse Paganism. Folkish Heathenry is basically Christofascist Norse Paganism. It is Norse Paganism that was inspired by Adolf Hitler's Nazi occultism blended with misappropriated Wicca, Norse Paganism, and Christianity. Folkish Heathens -- also called Odinists which are NOT the same thing as Odin devotees -- adhere to The Nine Noble Virtues which were written in the 1970s by members of the British fascist party before they became extremely popular in N. America.
The Nine Noble Virtues teach that good Norse Pagans must be white, cishet, and able to pull their own weight in society. That is eugenics -- racism, queerphobia, ableism, and there's no shortage of misogyny or toxic masculinity, either. Its white supremacy.
If that also sounds a lot like rightwing evangelicalism that's because it is. See, Folkish Heathens have blended Christofascism with their own completely bullshit version of Norse Paganism to make the actual Norse God Loki into a Satan-esque character. They have done this by placing heavy emphasis on the story of Ragnarok where Loki instigates war against the Aesir -- Odin and his allies -- after Odin punished Loki for the death of Baldr by forcing Loki's toddler son Vali to murder his twin brother Narfi by turning Vali into a rabid wolf.
I'm not gonna lie. That is an oversimplification because there is a HUGE list of bullshit that Odin put Loki through in The Eddas, including ruining his marriage and banishing three of his children essentially orphaning them. There is also a lot of political metaphors that play into the story because The Eddas were put to paper for the first time in the 11th century right in the middle of the Roman conversion to Christianity, and there were a lot of practicing Pagans back then that did not want to convert. Norway started a motherfucking war, so they could keep practicing Paganism and some historians believe that Loki is a metaphor for the Pagans who did not want to convert. Many of whom may have also been part of the Sami who are the indigenous people of Scandinavia. Cause, yeah, Scandinavia was colonized.
But the oversimplification is kind of the point because Folkish Heathens rely on the naivete of new converts and ex-Christians looking to get into Paganism to lure them into their cults. And, yes, I do mean actual cults that exist both in N. America and in Europe. They use the story of Ragnarok to turn Loki into this evil Satan-esque character while painting Odin, Thor, and Baldr as Yahweh and Jesus.
That is because the Norse God Loki spits in the face of heteronormative Christian values. He is a bisexual, polyamorous, nonbinary genderfluid shapeshifter that is capable of getting pregnant, giving birth, and getting other people pregnant. Folkish Heathens do not recognize Loki as a God worth worshipping because they hate queer, trans (nonbinary people are trans -- look it up), intersex, and poly people as well as disabled and BIPOC people. And the Norse God Loki Laufeyjarson -- AKA the God of outcasts, stories, playtime, the hearthfire, home, and the family -- represents all of those things.
That is why in tonight's episode of Loki there was no Loki statue up there with Thor and Odin.
I know these things because I am a Norse Pagan that worships Loki. I used to run a blog dedicated to exploring the subject of Loki's transness and kinda preventing the erasure of transgender history. I have watched the Nazi problem in the Pagan community get steadily worse since 2018, starting with the Lokean community. For three years, I got hate mail and death threats from Nazis and TERFs and ignorant puriteen mini fascists.
If you've ever wondered why I take the politics of the Marvel comics and fandom so seriously now you know.
I've been suicidal since I was twelve years old. The X-Men: Evolution cartoon series started to air on KidsWB around that time, and that was the first piece of media that taught me that it was okay to be different from everyone else. And that I did not deserve to be dead or ostracized because of my differences. X-Men is a Marvel property, so I am not exaggerating when I say that Marvel kept me from killing myself as a child.
That's why I'm so happy and so proud that Loki scoffed at Folkish Heathenry. It also confirms a suspicion that I and many other Heathens have had that Tom Hiddleston knows about Lokean Norse Paganism. Because there are also a ton of references to Norse Paganism in the first season and in post-2008 Marvel books.
I'm going to post a link to the Southern Poverty Law Center's information on Folkish Heathenry and the Asatru Folk Assembly -- AKA the AFA. The AFA is the largest white supremacist Norse Pagan cult in the US with four all white churches or hofs. The second largest cult is The Odinic Rite, and the largest European Folkish cult that I know of is called Norsk and it is based in Norway.
I'm doing this because I know a lot of people reading this will think I'm insane or exaggerating and not take the issue seriously.
Peeps, that's exactly what they want.
Please, read this article about the 2019 Christchurch mosque shooting in New Zealand. It goes into detail about how Nazis use "off-color" jokes and memes to normalize white supremacy. Those jokes and memes are the reason why you're rolling your eyes right now, and they are also the reason for the book bans here in the US, the Don't Say Gay Bill in Florida, and why JK Rowling has any fandom left at all. Even though she said she supports Nazis.

Spider-man: Across the Spider-verse
Tumblr media
With a trailer like Across the Spider-verse, fans already knew what they’d be getting themselves into. They already knew, they’d be jaw dropping with the endless designs of spiderman’s.
Fans knew they’d be in for a world of jokes and a world of “what!?” with a villain like Spots; Jason Schwartzman.
But what audiences aren’t realising what their getting is so much more. Yes, it’s jam packed full of jokes that land perfectly and will have a full cinema session left in stitches. What fans are really getting is a story at its core.
A story of a young man; Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), returning to his world and feeling like everyone’s abandoned him, feeling like he has no other spider-person to turn to, as well as feeling the typical struggle of Do I or Don’t I tell the world I’m spiderman?
The internal conflict Miles has with himself sets up the whole journey, his a young man whose in the early years of high school, a young man whose parents want him to be always close by while trying to mould him into letting him be himself, a young man whose trying to find his own identity amongst the Spidey-chaos.
When Miles comes upon his villain of the week; Spot, his slow to realise that cannon vs non cannon can affect him in more ways than one.
Turns out his spider incident from Spider 42; Alchemex spider, was never meant to bite Miles Morales but rather another Peter Parker but because of the twisted turn of events, it meant the world Miles knew had to change.
With secrets being kept, Miles learns from another misunderstand spider-man from 2099; Miguel O’Hara (Oscar Isaac), as well as many others such as Spider-Woman/Jessica Drew (Issa Rae), Hobie/ Spider-Punk (Daniel Kaluuya) and a brief cameo from Pavitr Prabhakar/ Spider-man India (Karan Soni) with returning spiders, Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld) and Spider-man (Jake Johnson).
The movie is a visual feast for the eyes, the animating team of this movie did a fantastic job piecing together all the key elements, from the way the audience could see the texture of hair to the texture of clothing, even highlighting key elements attached to each spider person within various frames which some frames had over 100+ and each spider person was easily identifiable.
As I sat and watched this movie, I found that this was slightly different to what I was expecting, I was expecting a villain vs hero comic book movie that the trailer had promised instead what I got was a story of moral struggles, a story that doesn’t necessarily focus on the key villain throughout the story instead using Spot as a starting point in order to show the point of Miles’ struggles.
At times Across the Spider-verse felt a bit slow to watch, at times the movie felt like it was just dragging on and had me checking the time. Though those slow moments have their purpose and without them, than the movie may not have made any sense.
The audiences know Part 2 is on the cards, which explains the cliff-hanger for this even if the cliff hanger did feel a bit underwhelming.
Unlike most comic book movies within the MCU, this doesn’t have any post credit scenes exceptMiles Morales will return in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Vers

My MCU Phase 4 MOVIE Ranking
Since MCU Phase 4 has come to a close, and I just watched Black Panther Wakanda Forever, I am going to give my ranking- did anyone need this? No. But I'm the one voluntarily choosing to state my opinions online.
DISCLAIMERS: not ranking the shows, just the movies- maybe I'll do a separate post for the shows?
I thought about it but I will be mentioning spoilers. I didn't know how else to rank them without using evidence from the films to back up my justifications.
The movies aren't in position of best-worst or anything like that, they are only just listed in the order they were released.
Okay, let's get into it.
Black Widow:
7/10, or maybe even 8/10 for me. Overall, I personally thought it was decent. I know there were a LOT of people who gave it negative reviews. I remember seeing so many bad things about it from people when it came out. But honestly, is it the worst thing Marvel has made? Imo, no. I won't get into the nitty gritty, or the Taskmaster stuff, but I liked getting to see Natasha again- even though we know this was before she died. And Florence Pugh as Yelena stole the show for me. Black Widow is (was?) also one of my favorite Avengers, so I personally have a soft spot in my heart.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings:
8/10 or maybe 8.5/10 for me. I am hesitant to push it toward a 9/10. Here's why and let me explain. I am aware that some people are THIRSTY for Tony Leung. I don't understand that, however it's your life, not mine. BUT I will say he did a damn good job being a complex character. I don't like him for giving Shang Chi trauma, but I think he did good being morally gray. Even though I got frustrated as F sometimes with his character. Shang Chi I actually liked. His dynamic with Katy? Great. I like Awkwafina tbh. Xu Xialing being the badass sister? Iconic. Although I hope she doesn't turn evil based off that post credit scene (another reason why I'm hesitant to give it a 9/10- I just want her to be good okay? Can't have TOO many morally complex people) The cinematography was great. Finally, as someone who is Asian (specifically Chinese0 but I was adopted) the Asian representation was decent. You know, it wasn't anything super mold breaking but for big names like Disney and Marvel, I give a nod.
Eternals:
3/10 or 4/10 at MOST. I honestly don't even remember most of this movie. I didn't even really have many expectations going into it, but.. yeah let's just say it was not my favorite. I didn't really like Sersi and Icarus together. I honestly felt like their characters were boring tbh. Druig and Makkari though? That's the REAL ship. And representation for the deaf! It's a start! Also, I will be crying eternally over Gilgamesh dying. The one thing about the plot that mainly interested me was Dane Whitman. I admit I am interested in seeing how the Black Knight storyline will be explored further. Other than that, Eternals was not really a memorable MCU film for me.
Spiderman No Way Home:
A solid 8/10. I think we can all agree this one was the MOST hyped up movie from Phase 4. Like ever. The hype was so real. I LIVED through it all. What a world to live in. Everyone was avoiding spoilers left and right. Anyway. I DID like the film overall since it continued the storyline of Peter's identity being discovered, and a bit of Dr. Strange's storyline. Obviously, the cameo from Tobey and Andrew was great to see. Although I admit I did not grow up watching Tobey and Andrew's versions of Spiderman, I felt the kind of "magic" experience of seeing the original folks back on screen permeate through me. HOWEVER. The only reason I cannot score this one any higher is because I didn't like the ending. I haven't really seen much and it has been a while, but do others hate the ending? What is the universal opinion? I may just look it up on a Reddit thread later. Anyway, I personally didn't like that ending. Why would you do the memory wipe trope??? I mean, was that actually the ONLY solution to Peter nearly tearing apart the space time continuum and fabric of the universe??? So Ned and MJ are just gonna have to continue on. I can't think about it too much or I may get emo actually. To end it on a good note, it was cool seeing the old villains from the universe as well.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness:
7/10. Yeah. I had to think for a second. But 7/10 feels right for this one. It wasn't really my favorite, but I didn't think it was the worst. And oh god, there seems to be a LOT of controversy around this one. By controversy, I also just mean basically mixed opinions. From what I've seen/heard, people either really hate this one or they're like, alright. It's mid. Also, for a movie that has Doctor Strange in the title, I sure did see the entire world talking mostly about Wanda. I don't know. It feels like this movie was just chaotic? Specifically in terms of the storyline, I mean. Like, I thought it was interesting that this was the movie they decided on to introduce America Chavez into the MCU. I think it could have been easier for people to follow maybe just one major character? So the focus isn't constantly shifting? Maybe that's just me. Also, is Stephen just destined to be alone now? Idk about the comics because I don't really read those, but like, I guess he's never ending up with Christine in any universe. Is the Darkhold like actually destroyed for real? What the fuck is the storyline now?? I've seen/heard rumors of the next movie actually being Dimension of Darkness (hence the post credit scene) but like what would the plot be? Again, I don't read the comics so idk if they touch on that, but yeah Doctor Strange's timeline/story and character arc is just one of the weirdest in the MCU for me I guess.
Thor Love and Thunder:
8/10. Yes, I WILL defend this movie. Despite it being another Phase 4 movie which got crapped on, I liked it. If Thor Love and Thunder has 100 fans, I am one of them. If Thor Love and Thunder has 10 fans, I am one of them. If Thor Love and Thunder has only 1 fan, I am that fan. You get the gist. I think people were just so shocked for once that it wasn't their usual type of superhero movie. First of all, what does that even mean. Just let people enjoy their silly little movies, damn. I will admit, was it the strongest plot? Meh. But I did enjoy the dialogue a lot. I liked seeing Thor, Jane, and Valkyrie again. If you can't even think of Korg without getting offended, then you can just leave. Also, Christian Bale did an amazing job at being a villain. I will give him that. I will say that was one of the highlights of this movie probably tbh. I was so shook. As someone who watched Newsies, I was just like "he was Jack Kelly and now he's this" LOL.
Okay. And I know- most of know by now that Jane died, and some people didn't like that- yeah, I was sad too- but I thought it made sense for her character. Like I said, I'll play the defender. Also, because I thought it was impactful about how it paralleled Gorr and Love's relationship. And it was a metaphor for her going to Valhalla. She died in her OWN battle. But yeah, the storyline now with Thor will be interesting. I wonder what his next adventure will be. And if there's people out there still pressed about this movie, I'll just say I don't think Taiki Waititi cares.
Black Panther Wakanda Forever:
8.5/10. I just recently watched this one and I am still processing it. So I may not have as many fully formed thoughts on this movie compared to the others, but if I were to give keywords, I would say impactful and emotional. I went on Instagram and Twitter and there seems to be a majority of people who liked it. However, the main negatives I saw were issues with Shuri or Riri. Which is a whole discussion within itself. Also the storyline and length. I understand people thinking it dragged on. I went with one of my friends to watch the movie and she told me afterwards it felt a bit long to her. I can get that. But I WOULD argue with you on the cinematography. I thought that visually the film was great. The underwater scenes were fine with me. The costuming as well. I thought it did fine honoring Chadwick Boseman. To those who say it wasn't enough for them though, I just have to ask, ok, what would you have done instead? Like, yeah I saw some people saying Riri shouldn't have been introduced in the movie, and Shuri should have just stayed a scientist. So what would YOU make the storyline? And that's all I have to say on that. Aside from that, the soundtrack was great though. Overall, I think this film was one of the best for me of Phase 4. And it was a beautiful way to end it.

Blog #3 - MCU
Welcome back to the blog where we discuss it all relating to movies and T.V. This week I want to discuss a very popular movie series or in this case it may be more appropriate to say universe. That’s right this week I want to discuss the past, present, and future of the MCU aka Marvel Cinematic Universe. Before I start, I thought we could switch it up a little and make this more interactive. Below is a quiz to tell you which MCU character you are internally and externally.
I have taken the quiz myself and I was surprised to learn that on the inside I’m like Captain America and on the outside, I’m like Ant-Man. I was a little confused at first but after reading the explanation I can see the similarities. Who did you get? Was it who you expected or totally off?
Coming back to the topic of today I’ll first be discussing the MCU phase 1-3. In my opinion and I might be a little biased these phases are probably one of the best cinematic masterpieces of my generation. In case you have forgotten what movies were in these phases here is a picture as a reference.
Tumblr media
The reason why I think these movies were so amazing is for several reasons. One of the main reasons is because of the writing and directing. I never realized how great the writing and directing were until I watched other movies or *cough* *cough* stage 4 of the MCU. In phase 1 were introduced to the main MCU characters like Iron man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America. We also get to see our heroes fight together for the first time in the Avengers movie. Later in phases 2 and 3, we get to see more secondary characters and heroes introduced. Another main reason why I liked phases 1-3 so much is how refreshing it was to me. When the MCU introduced Iron man first I felt like that was a statement. They could have gone in chronological order and chosen Captain America who is the most like Superman. A superhero who is just, righteous, and courageous. But instead, they choose a character who is riddled with personality problems that would make him an unfit hero. My next reason is the movies were funny, genuinely funny. Which is something I feel is either not shown in superhero movies or not done right. My final reason (at least for today) is the details. I love that saying it’s all in the details. I feel like the MCU understood that perfectly. Accompanied by a great plot, writing, and directing it just took the films to a whole new level.
The next phase I want to discuss is phase 4 the current stage we are in.
Tumblr media
While the dates for some of these are off due to the pandemic, we are currently in phase 4. If I am honest and I always try to be I currently have a very strong dislike for phase 4. Now I don’t dislike all of it just certain aspects of it. For example, I really enjoyed Wanda Vision, Falcon, and the Winter Soldier, What If, Doctor Strange 2, and Spiderman 3. The rest of the movies and shows were a bit of a letdown for me. In my opinion, the biggest disappointment was Loki and Black Widow. I felt like these characters had a dark past that was never talked about in the movies. Furthermore, both had complex personalities. Considering both are no longer “alive” it would have been a great opportunity to explore their origin stories. In addition, most of the shows/movies felt cheesy in the writing and directing. The saddest part is you can see the difference in the writing and directing from the last phase to this one. A funny joke I saw on Instagram was comparing the writing in the past vs the present. For example, in infinity war (phase 1) Thor says bring me Thanos. While in Love and Thunder Lady Thor said eat my hammer. Rewatching both scenes just doesn’t give the same effect. On top of that, the plot didn’t always make sense to me. I’m often left feeling confused rather than excited at the end of a movie/show.
Kinda like this...
Tumblr media
The final stage I will be discussing is stage 5 and 6.
Tumblr media
After watching most of the content in phase 4 I strongly considered being done with the MCU. Stage 5 didn’t give me much hope that it was going to get better. The only movie I would be interested in watching is Guardians of the Galaxy. But even then, I’m unsure how interesting it will be missing one of the main characters, Gamora. However, just when I’m about to write off the MCU they release phase 6 and I see they added 2 Avengers movies. This is big news for any marvel fan because the last Avengers movie was in 2019 . Futhermore with a lot of the original crew dead, it seemed unlikely that there would be a new Avengers movie. I don't know what to expect but this gives me hope for the future of the MCU and I can't help but be excited once again.
Tumblr media
Thank you guys for tuning into this episode and I hope to see you guys again next week. Love you 3000.

Okay but you and Peter are super close and you found out he wanted to be the Spider-Man and helped him make his first suit and then he gets his suit from Tony and you just feel kinda useless now because what do you have to offer a guy with the avengers backing him
Peter's beaming smile was almost enough to lift your heart from where it had sunken into your stomach, the brown paper bag in his hand clutched so tightly that you thought it was going to tear.
"Can you believe it?! A real suit!"
You tried to ignore the implication that came along with that, that the suit you'd spent hours hand-sewing with your best friend wasn't good enough for him. You nodded, fake smile plastered on your face, "Well, let's see it!"
He peeled apart the top of the bag, reaching inside and gripping the material inside with much more care than he'd shown the bag. The brown paper was set aside in favor of the red and blue spandex, black webs snaking around every inch of the fabric. A black spider laid on the chest of the suit, and you watched Peter nearly faint as he saw the entire thing for the first time.
"Y/N, look at this! Oh my god, look, it's so sleek and-" Peter caught sight of the mask laying in the remains of the bag, eyes widening as he flung the suit on the bed to fumble with the mask.
"Holy shit! Y/N, it's so high-tech, there's so many- oh my god! There's a lady in here and she's talking to me and she's saying so much awesome stuff and this is so cool!"
You could only watch your best friend geek out over the newer, better version of the suit you'd pulled an all-nighter with him to make, bitterness fogging your memories of the night. You stood abruptly, tears threatening to spill out down your cheeks as you bit your lip to keep your composure.
"Hey, Pete," You managed to get your voice to sound normal, praying that with all of the high-tech add-ons to his goggles, he couldn't see your tears, "I just remembered I've got homework due tomorrow, and I left my notes at home. I gotta go, we can hang out again soon."
Then, before he could say anything, you added, "And congratulations on the suit. It looks great."
"Oh, um, do you want to just borrow my notes?"
"No, no, it's okay, I need my own. I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?"
"Wait! Wait, I'll just come over later when I do my patrol. You can see the new suit in action!"
"Can't wait," You had already turned around, no longer able to hide your tears, "See you later, Peter."

ok this post is gonna be filled with spiderman spoilers so look away if you haven't seen it. the main spoiler: it was excellent.
first of all, let's give it up for the OG, tobey maguire. without him, none of us would be here. i don’t think it’s dramatic to say we owe him for everything. he started out this comic book movie trend ok!!! and when he stopped peter from killing green goblin? yeahh boy, you show em why you're the OG you remind them!!
when andrew garfield came on, my soul left my body. did not expect to cry. thee best spiderman and i'm so happy he got to wear the suit again.
let's ALSO give it up for green goblin and doc ock, THEEEEE best comic book movie villains. WHO can touch them?! no other movie has been able to capture the magic of those characters played by willem dafoe and alfred molina. we will be chasing that high for the rest of out lives.
this movie had EVERYONE. obviously eddie/venom were great but i mentally checked out when i saw my sweet baby boy matt again. that was all i cared about. i would die for him. i would kill for him. when he caught the brick? it singlehanded saved my life. come back to me, beloved.
another shout out to the hardest working actor in the MCU, benedict wong. he is in, what? every movie? i hope his paycheck is huge. cumberbatch, too. the dr strange cast carries the MCU on their backs.
anyway, not only was the cast amazing but it really was an excellent movie. it was just a very different superhero movie! it really was about saving instead of winning, and it was really touching. i think we need more movies like that. i think that was really powerful.
also may deserved better!!!!!!!!!!!!
and yeah i did cry a little bit. the emotional beats in this one hit hard

when/if you've watched no way home and are willing to share, i would LOVE to hear your thoughts about it
PLS THE NEW SPIDERMAN CAME OUT COME BACK TO THW FANDOM WE NEED U ITS SO GOOD AHHHHH (it's okay if u don't lol just whenever I think of spiderman I immediately think of u lol and thIS MOVIE IS LITERALLY JUST UR FICS I LOVE IT)
so thoughts on nwh?
Thank you all for asking lol
I just saw No Way Home this last week. This answer will contain spoilers for Spiderman No Way Home, so if you haven't seen it, please proceed with caution.
tbh guys I give it like a 6.75/10.
It was. fine. It was entertaining enough.
More under the cut.
Parts I liked:
I liked having the other Spideys. I have historically hated Tobey Maguire's Spiderman, but this time I was actually very pleased to find that he was very relatable as the oldest and most experienced of the group.
In the moment when he put himself between Norman and Tom Holland Spidey, I thought there was going to be a narrative parallel between his and Blondie's death from ITSV (I honestly thought that that would be REALLY cool but was both bummed and pleased when it didn't happen).
Tom Holland is a phenomenal actor. Yes, he is picking up jobs that look stupid as hell, but you know what? I forgive him for that because he worked his ass off in the Spiderman films and, by god, he fought and cried and got MAD. It was wonderful to see MCU Spidey finally be angry, like really really angry.
Like YES YES YES. THAT'S THE SPIDERMAN WE KNOW.
So loved those parts.
Obviously I loved Andrew Garfield's Spiderman coming in and talking NONstop while other people were talking. Like that guy could not let Tobey Maguire Spidey finish a single sentence. He does motormouth spidey so well. And the bits between MJ and Garfield spidey were adorable. Was it cheesy when Garfield spidey crumpled to pieces after saving MJ from a fall that killed his Gwen? Yes. Do I care? No. Narratively, he finally got to take the dive and make things just a little bit more right for himself.
My favorite part of the whole film, though, was Garfield Spidey and Maguire Spidey popping each other's backs. HANDS. DOWN.
I don't care about literally anything else. (*except Matt catching the brick. Charlie had 4 lines in this movie and said 'I'm gonna make the most of this shit.')
Things I didn't like:
I appreciate that this film was essentially a way to walk back the entire characterization of MCU spiderman up until that point. I see what they were trying to do.
I also see that what sets MCU Spidey apart is the ability to work on a team. The other guys are lone wolves, so yes. I get it now why MCU spidey was built up as he was.
The comparisons between him and the other spideys was a very good way of handling his so far lackluster, boring-ass character development.
My main gripe is that we could have had this shit from the start. They wouldn't have had to walk all this shit back if they hadn't made him such a terrible, unrecognizable character in the first place and ending the film as they did essentially made everything he'd been through so far feel like it didn't matter. That was so many deaths just for us to end up with a Spidey who is finally at the beginning of his story.
Idk man. Not for me.
Also I hated the Dead Aunt May part of this plot. I HATED IT. Especially because it left a 17yo boy literally alone in the entire world and I'm like we really ended on this note?
MCU Spidey is a sad sack of shit right now.
FURTHER. It's not that I don't think that May could have said the line 'with great power comes great responsibility' but it means something different coming from Ben. Like, in terms of Jewish identity, Ben is the last living Jewish member of Peter's immediate family, and for him to say that, is tied to a WHOLE lot of baggage around like Jewish conceptions of power and social and communal responsibility. May isn't Jewish, so while its fine for her to deliver this message, I was just really, really let down.
It's yet another thing that makes me go 'this Spiderman isn't for me. This Spiderman is for Christians. He's been made for their comfort, not mine.' If they had at least somehow made May Jewish, I would have accepted it more easily. But yeah. That was a huge disappointment for me.
Other things I didn't like were Stephen Strange talking the way he did to a fucking 17yo like good god. Of course Peter hadn't called the university to contest his rejection. 99.9% of people don't fucking do that, and Peter is a c h i l d.
Don't love this Dr. Strange. Don't love how he has a lack of respect for his fellow sorcerer dude.
WHAT A DICK.
His whole scenes made me motion sick. I don't need that shit, Stephen. Please tone down these CGI backgrounds.
ONE MORE THING.
Why the fuck is the MCU insistent on putting Cap's shield everywhere? God, I cringed so bad when they put it on the statue of liberty. How. Fucking. Embarrassing. HOW EMBARRASSING.
Anyways, the best parts of this movie were the individual actors playing off each other and acting their asses off. All the villains deserved more screen time and more complex thoughts/feelings, too. TAKE IT FROM STRANGE. GIVE IT TO DOC OCK.
GOD.
Yeah, so. 6.75/10. I wouldn't watch it again.

⚠️ NO WAY HOME SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!⚠️
.
.
.
.
.
I have some thoughts about our boy, Flash Thompson, and that end credits scene with Venom.
So. As we all saw, Venom left a tiny bit of goo behind when he and Eddie were tossed back into their dimension. A little baby Venom. There's really only 3 directions they could head with that. Dark Venom Spidey (nah. Been done), have it find another Eddie (kinda pointless, tbh, since we still have our Eddie and Venom in the Sonyverse), or have it find Flash Thompson (bingo!). In the comics, Flash and Venom bond and become Agent Venom. That's a possibility for our Flash for sure.
BUT! Given where he is in his character development, I have very heavy doubts he'd use his symbiote for good at first. He's still a kid and hasn't experienced much life, such as joining the military and losing his legs as he does in the comics. MCU Flash has such an ego and a major hero worship with Spiderman (so much so that he published essentially a self insert fanfic about him being best friends with him not long after the identity reveal). He also has neglectful, if not abusive, parents as exhibited in Far From Home. All he really has is his money, his "popularity", and his hero worship with Spidey that seems to bring him comfort. All rambling about his characterization aside, if he got Venom in this universe, attempted to be a hero with Spidey, and got fully rejected by him, what is stopping Flash from crumbling and snapping? He could easily be the villain in the next Spiderman film and end up redeemed like Harry Osborn by the end of it all.
This could be such an amazing opportunity for growth for the character if done right. I hope he's not just forever sidelined like the other live action Flash Thompsons. The lack of him in No Way Home kinda concerns me, but the movie was also just so packed with so many things and they could be saving him for something cool later. Who's to say, but I'm hoping for the best.
I hope this makes any sense. It's nearly 1am and I have a lot of feelings
