For this piece, I prepared a background with pieces of masking tape and then flooding watercolour around each piece. I then did some continuous line with a black pen, and then used some water to bleed the ink inside the body to bring it away from the background. I then did some large strokes of watercolour coming from the head in various colours. I then used oil pastels to create more chaos coming from the head, and then used a black oil pastel to blend in some shadows from the head and attach the pastel to the line drawing. I’m happy with the outcome and would do it again.

This is another piece I did using the same imagery as the previous post. However, this time I used black drawing ink, and a wide range of unconventional materials and tools, which included packing peanuts, knitting needles, bubble wrap, wire, etc. This was inspire by David Rabie’s work with ink, and I find the technique interesting.
I then did a second piece with ink, but this time on a prepared background of wallpapers that have been covered in white acrylic paint, so that I have an area to draw on. I know the thumb isn’t in proportion and I can’t fix it which is the fun part of ink cause you can’t change what you’ve done.

For this piece, I did a watercolour painting on top of book paper, which shows a hand dropping a bottle and the insides spilling out. I was really happy with how it looked, but I felt there was too much empty space so I worked into it more with different weights of pencil, to draw some medicine and pill bottles, emotions aren’t always confined to just one space, but to many depending on what it is that’s bejng bottled. I then worked into some of the paint splatters with a fine line pen to get some more detail. This piece was inspired by Loui Jover’s work, as well as William Kentridge’s work. This is a technique I love working with.

Someone asked me if I had any ceramic pieces left and they hadn’t seen my post that they’re all sold. So instead I did a commission of the mourne mountains done with watercolour instead. Took me around 5 hours and a lot of patience but it was worth it! Sold for £30!

This is one of my watercolour paints along the theme of mental health and hiding your true form behind a mask instead of out for everyone to see.... 🎭 it was done for my illustration unit and I’m very happy with how it turned out and I ended up using it in my final design.

Made a new character today! Her name is Rhena meaning self assurance, independent, and confident. I’m happy with who she turned out. I originally wanted her to be a tiefling with the horns n all but I realised I wasn’t the greatest at drawing them so I’m gonna work on horns and then hopefully add them to a character at some point

This is my final outcome to my photography unit this year, which was on my self-image and how the negatives effect the view of myself and they’re still connected to me even when I’m being positive like they’re always there
