I got through it just fine the first time, and then I did a double take.
Did you hear about these new reversible jackets? I’m excited to see how they turn out..

Please don't reblog, this is just a happy note! My dad's birthday was yesterday, so I am late in posting, and I wish I could do more. We live in different states right now, and he was called in to work on his birthday. His coworkers presented him with the cake that said they knew him well and thoroughly.
He dresses the same way almost every day he works, and it has impacted his coworkers; when they have questions, they seek a man with a hat. The man with the hat. The man who may answer in cryptic dad jokes. He does have other clothes in his wardrobe, but his magical-dad transformation allows him to shift between a technical genius and a father, leaving work behind when he comes home.
Despite dressing the same way almost every day and having such a strong sense of work ethic, my dad has always been there for me. He taught me flexibility between holding strong to my beliefs and understanding that we must sometimes accept surprises, and even radically change ourselves. This is a man who has not judged me when I talked about my tarot cards and crystals, who doesn't frown at me when I openly consider dating women, and who walks just as proudly with me when I'm wearing a fluffy onesie in Denny's as he does when I'm in a suit and tie announcing that I got the job of my dreams.
I'm very lucky to have the dad I do, even as I live in fear of my coffee being watched and accidentally being turned into a sandwich. I wish we lived closer together, and I'm so grateful that he understands my own work ethic; I could not visit because I am working two jobs and attending college while trying to rebuild my sense of self. This is the man, the hero, who can overcome any obstacle. The man that inspires me to keep pushing forward, because it gets better even if it's so, so very hard.
Super dad energy to all my followers today. I hope you honor yourself if you're a good dad, and love yourself even if you're not a dad but you're working hard through your life. May you all find the willpower and discipline to carry on, and the compassion to leave your stress behind when you come home. Respect to the moms, too, but my post for that comes in October!
I love you, dad.

What blocks each chakra, and how to heal/avoid it:
1. Root Chakra: Fear - Avoid this feeling by focusing on what you are grateful for and by knowing that you are eternally safe and infinitely powerful in the grand scheme of things.
2. Sacral Chakra: Guilt - Avoid this feeling by knowing that you are always doing your best and that it’s always enough.
3. Solar Plexus Chakra: Shame - Avoid this feeling by knowing that you are objectively absolutely perfect and nothing you do can change that.
4. Heart Chakra: Grief - This feeling shouldn’t be avoided but allowed to pass through if it occurs, and then send love to yourself to heal. You can do this by imagining yourself filled with bright light.
5. Throat Chakra: Lies - Be honest with yourself and others.
6. Third Eye Chakra: Illusion - Be open to the possibility that there is more to this universe than meets the eye. Be open to the possibility that we are all connected.
7. Crown Chakra: Earthly Attachment - Let go of all attachments that you have to this planet. The entire universe and beyond is your home.

One of the most challenging things I’ve had to learn is that healing must be intentional. There is no one golden day that comes and saves you from all your misery. Healing is a practice. You have to decide that it’s what you want to do and actively do it. You have to make a habit out of it. Once I learned that, I only looked back to see how far I came.

No filter witchcraft: let’s be fucking honest
So something occurred to me today.
I’m sure this is true of Tumblr and social media as a whole, and not just Witchblur, but it seems like a lot of witches, particularly if they are new, feel a certain degree of guilt when they see all these posts by Elder Witches with Ye Olde Grand Altar with Flawless Aesthetic and Perfect Perfectness at all times.
And let’s be honest.
None of us actually fucking live like that.
Our altars get dusty. Our workspaces get cluttered. Maybe our space isn’t very ideal to begin with, when we’re not carefully cropping out the crappy edges. Don’t lie: at most times apart from when we’re taking pictures for Witchblur or IG, it can look, well… not exceptionally magical. And certainly not as straight-up supernatural as it does after we’ve gotten done editing it within an inch of its life.
So I propose that as an act of encouragement and solidarity to witches – and baby witches especially – who are feeling guilty for not being something that doesn’t fucking exist, we post #nofilterwitchcraft.
Take a picture of anything having to do with your witch-ness, that is not tailored for perfection, not carefully pruned, not super aesthetic, and throw it up on Witchblur or IG. It doesn’t have to be a working, per se. It can be anything, as long as it’s witch-related in some way.
Here’s mine.
Tumblr media
This is my usual workspace, which is a tiny side table which usually shares space with my ugly speakers and in this case, also some random hair shit. Also in-frame is my extremely ugly early 2000′s fold-away caravan mattress (which I couldn’t be fucked to actually fold up today), and my cover-less duvet. In other words, I am more or less a mess.
Let’s see yours. Tag #nofilterwitchcraft and I’ll reblog from the tag every Sunday.
