Redrew my first few attempts at digital fanart from January to show myself the difference. And wow, there is definitely a difference.

Takeaways: My lines have definitely gotten cleaner, and the faces and face-body ratios have improved, I think. As has my ability to add a bit of dimension without resorting to smudging. But my hands haven’t improved that much, and my ability to draw mouths and figure out what emotions look like as drawn expressions still needs a lot of work.

Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1

The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.

So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.

So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.

Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.

And the probe is working again.

From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.

I'm suddenly imagining a 15 year-old Bruce bringing an 8 year-old Dick home from a tragedy at the circus. Alfred realizes that he's going to have to file for guardianship of a second kid.

This time it's Dick dragging Bruce into crime fighting? Imagine Bruce becoming Batman specifically to help Dick achieve justice / stop Dick from killing the perpetrator. Imagine Alfred realizing he's going to have to figure out how to train these two kids somehow so they don't get themselves murdered in the organized crime capital of DC Comics.

my biggest pet peeve wiht the english language is that you don’t have sin/sina

in swedish if u have two people who use the same pronoun u can always tell whos doing what bc its like ‘han tog sin väska’ (he took his[own] bag) and ‘han tog hans väska’ would be that he took the other persons bag

but in english its like if u have 2 ppl w/ the same pronoun:

“she took her bag” whose bag????WHose BAG was it her OWN bag or the other her’s bag??????????????

“he ate his donuts” were the donuts his own???? did he fucking eat someone elses donuts??? YIU DONT KNOW bc english is a bullshit language

So, I found out that, as of The Penguin #7 (from February 2024), Martha Wayne has been confirmed to celebrate Hanukkah.

Before, DC had accidentally made her Jewish through the Kanes, but didn’t seem to realize it. I personally figured that although she was technically Jewish, she didn’t actually have a particular connection to it. But yeah, apparently she celebrated at least one Jewish holiday. So…Martha Wayne was Jewish and she participated in the culture.

That means Bruce spent his early years in an interfaith family—even if Martha wasn’t religious, he was raised on two different religious practices. Which likely affects his views on religion, authority, and his family relations, and I find that really interesting.

I really want to explore this in a fic somehow, but I’m not quite sure what to write. But yeah.

It'd be really funny if all of the members of YJ are so scared of being punished by their older counterparts, except Tim.

Which boggles YJ's minds. Because HUH? THATS BATMAN??? WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE NOT SCARED OF HIS PUNISHMENTS? SURELY THEYRE WORSE THAN ANY OF OURS?

Yj gets in trouble. Diana grounds Cassie and tells her no costume for a month. Clark tells Kon "im not mad im just dissapointed" (the boy is in tears). Barry/Wally tells Bart that hes "not crash" and that he's not allowed to run with them to Tokyo for a week. They're all on the ground crying.

Then they look over at Tim. They're terrified for him. Batman is in front of him, looming over him, glaring down at him. They're far away from the others but yj is still shaking in fear because look how pissed Batman is.

Then Tim "I lied to Batman" Drake walks back and grins at them. "He tried to ground me. I'll be back by tomorrow."

I love nickname drift so much.

there's something about nickname drift that always gets me, so it starts like this:

steph call duke a pineapple one time, duke retaliates by calling her aubergine, then he calls her eggplant, then finally just "egg", steph calls him "pine" and eventually just starts calling him different tree varieties

this culminates with duke calling on the comms "this is tree boy paging egg" (babs, who hasn't run day shift comms for a fat second has to be like uhhh come again) this is their little inside joke when its just them and eventually when they run into each other at GothU

Damian having to draw his family for art class and most kids just draw themselves between their parents and their siblings but damian keeps going over to the teacher to ask for more paper and after handing him about five extra sheets she is exasperated and walks over, fully believing hes like messing around and turning them into paper airplanes or something and instead finds a picture of him, standing surrounded by all eight of his siblings, his father, his butler, a random reporter with his wife and two sons, a woman, his mother, and about ten other people that the teacher can vaguely pinpoint as a billionaire from a nearby city, and some other less known names. “What is this damian?” she demands confused. Damian looks up at her, equally as confused. “You said to draw my family.” He gestures to the drawing. “This is my family.” The teacher sends it to Bruce and he cries. The drawing is framed and hung up over the mantle.
