So The Night Brings

Nights only appeared to be lonely for you , sometimes. It was as if you were okay the majority of the time not indulging in what the world may bring people your age at any time of day, however if a lonesome feeling did hit you, it was during the nightly hours.

The City brought nothing , it was quiet which shouldn’t be something that was negative because that meant no unnecessary chaos , you found yourself with freedom and no one to share it with.

The streets were practically empty with a few passer by’s here and there some alone and others with company and with each that came by , you became more indecisive on which you’d prefer to be.

There were those who hugged themselves subtly carrying themselves into the night, blank or taking in the sky , blank expressions or eyes reflecting very beautiful parts of the night alone, so did you want that, to be that? Lonesome or should you say- at piece on your own even it’d mean having only yourself as company .

Now with that being said there were those enveloped in each other not necessarily touching but not necessarily out of contact either just close enough so that the cold bitter wind couldn’t blow either person away and so that the aches and chills they’d normally feel were less , most were without conversation and more so each other’s presence .

Did you want that? Were you willing to put yourself on the frontline in such a way that’d make you and another person vulnerable than you had been in a while or perhaps never been in at all now that you thought about it?

If the night brung something- someone, would you except it?

Be blunt.

Did you or did you not want to be enveloped with another’s company that could mean more than just acquaintances? That was the question , did you want to be alone or were you ready to be liked or even loved in more than a platonic way like you had only excepted for a while now.

Who knew, with every step you took your mind changed and before you knew it you were in front of your favorite place, the twenty four hour gourmet bakery that allowed you to take in desserts from just about anywhere in the world, here in your own backyard.

You swiftly pulled open one of the double doors causing the light bell to ring above your head, the place painted with pastel yellows and pink with rows of brown leathered booths along the wall for those of parties of more than three , a bar like area that you knew good and well was only another seated area for more people to enjoy sweets and complimented alike beverages that ran along a bit of the middle in the establishment with stools that traveled in a shape of the letter L along the bar in the opposite direction and stopped connected to the same wall where the doors were, over that way was the cash register and of course the kindest owner you’d ever meet at a shop. Mr. Ackles.

The distance between the bar and the booths were enough, four sets of tables and chairs were neatly placed just a few feet from where you walked in . It set a walk way for all who came in between both areas that were across from each other.

Then there was the back area behind the bar that led to where more tables and chairs were lined up and of course, the bathroom areas. The place was way bigger than it looked on the outside and that’s what you loved about it this little shop held so much more than what those who weren’t willing to take a chance would see. Needless to say that was you but not towards this shop but towards other things.

You took in the scenery as always paintings and old photos of baked delicious goods , delicacy’s and drinks. Sayings that could relate to life’s moments if you could get passed the ‘sugar coating’ .

It smelled obviously delicious all through the establishment and what other way would it’d be ?

Other than the owner there were only two other people besides you in the cafe as around this time all workers had gone home or were in back preparing and cleaning for the next days shift.

You smiled , it always made you happy seeing others here at this time you were , kind of wondering what they were doing here I mean , were they just craving something sweet, was this a get away, were they just exploring? Endless possibilities flooded your mind and how could they not? You wouldn’t allow much else to come in at this time .

It was all just missing pieces , what if’s with large spaces after because you couldn’t put it all together, it was so much to think about yet nothing? It made not an ounce of sense.

With just a few steps you were at the counter you placed your hands gently on the mocha toned surface that was always warm , the owner’s face showed a pleasant smile as he’d become all too familiar with your presence which he didn’t mind because you were taking advantage of what was, after all, a twenty four hour cafe.

“A Vanilla Bean parfait for your thoughts?” He hummed , he always gave you different items to try since you walked in being that you were the first to come in at such a late hour for A while. You never turned him down because he’d never recommend anything that you didn’t end up enjoying so you had no reason to believe that tonight would be any different.

“You’ve never steered me in the wrong direction Mr. Ackles I see no reason to doubt you now, I’ll take one.” You grinned.

“May I have the same as well?” A modulated voice spoke out From behind you. You did not know who it’d belonged to and you were startled a bit but not too much you just hadn’t heard him enter the place, the bell didn’t catch your ears.

You took a glance over your shoulder seeing a gentleman behind you. His eyesight met yours momentarily , he wore a small crooked smirk for a second showing slight polite acknowledgement to you. You fought yourself as you felt your eyes wanting to become bigger and forcing yourself to turn back towards the owner. You turned back almost as quickly as you had turned the young strangers way but with the little glance you did get you were able to drink in his appearance .

His hair; a bright blonde evidently dyed and faded pink towards the ends of his hair. He wore a single chain necklaces that wasn’t too loosely hung around his neck .

A plaid green and white oversized flannel with hints of black and beige throughout it. Accompanied with a white graphic tee under it. He wore a button front leather jacket over his flannel to complete the look and perhaps stop the cold, however his bottoms were light washed blue jeans with a rip in one of the knees, a small chain dangled in connection from belt loop to one of his pockets.

His shoes matched the flannel and his jeans were lightly tucked behind the tongues of his shoes.

Well dressed for an hour like this .

The owner looked past you towards the male and it wasn’t long before a smile stretched on his lips .

“Jay, you’ve come back again missing such treats?” Mr. Ackles teased

Jay. The name fit him , if that’d made sense.

I’m genuinely at the point where I hate Dispatch. Like, I get it, they’re all about posting celebrity news. However, the fact that they like to play God and choose which stories to post and when knowing it will harm either the idol or their career isn’t okay — especially since it was confirmed a few months back that they were holding a few stories about LGBT idols who weren’t out. It’s because of Dispatch that my stance on celebrities’ personal lives/relationships is: it’s NOT my business.

I know Valentine’s Day passed but.....

“Spare another kiss please.”

Giggling as Jaemin pouts his lips for the 1ooth time today, taking a hold of his face you give him a light kiss once again. 

“What is up with you today?” You ask

“What do you mean?”

“You’re just acting weird.” you fluff his hair “Like I know is Valentine’s Day and all but your being so..weird.”

“I’m just expressing my love...” He knocks you over on the couch “Can’t I show the love of my life all my love.”

“Get your heavy self off me demon!” You laugh “Anyways are you going to show me what you wanted to show me now?”

He smiles brightly and holds out a blindfold and sets it in your lap. Looking down at it, you hold it up “Is this what you wanted to show me?”

He rolls his eyes “No dummy put it on, I don’t want the surprise ruined by you lookin at it!”

“Okay.” Taking the pink heart blindfold you put it on your eyes. Jaemin runs out of the living room and grabs your gift. You hear his door close and his footsteps get closer to you. 

“Give me your hand.”

Holding your head out, he takes a hold of if to help up stand up. He rubs his thumb along the back of your hand “I like the way your hand fits in mine.” He kisses you hand making you blush “You make take your blindfold off!”

Letting his hand go, you take your blindfold off, Jaemin is hands you a bag “Happy Valentine’s Day Y/N.”

Opening the bag you gasped, looking up at him and then back at the bag, “Oh my...Jaemin why’d you..” Inside the bag are 3 lightsticks from your favorite group that you couldn’t find (because they were sold out), ASTRO’s photobook sighed by all the members & 2 tickets for Blackpink’s mini concert tonight.

“Well..” His grow pink “I knew you’ve been searching for those for a while so I went to the entertainment companies to see if they have any and they just gave them to me.”

Your eyes fill with tears, putting everything down you give him a hug “Thank you so much!”

He hugs you back and kisses you hair “Your welcome Y/N”

Hello all! Admin Minnie coming to bring you a little something, just to give you a little snippet of what you can get! I hope you like it!

[11:30pm] - Stray Kids Dorm

“You’ll never know if you don’t ask her!” Minho throws another pillow over at Hyunjin “I’m sure she likes you too!”

“I don’t know.” Hyunjin covers his head in the blanket “I can’t just go up to her and be like ‘oh hi Y/N I think your beautiful will you go out with me?’ That’s to embarrassing!”

“Uhm... is that not how you ask a girl out?” Minho throws the last of his pillows at Hyunjin “Tomorrow you are going to ask her out!”

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

“Shut up and go to sleep!” Minho collects his pillows and goes to sleep “if he won’t do anything about it... I will.”

[8:45am] -The Next Morning-

All the members of Stray Kids gathered in the dance room awaiting their choreographer. Jeongin and Hyunjin sitting on the floor stretching,

“So Hyung are you going to ask her out?!”

“Wha?” Hyunjin eyes go wide “I don’t know what your talking about.”

“No he’s going to chicken out again.” Felix laughed “Hrs going to miss his chance if he doesn’t just ask her out.”

“Who’s asking who out?” Their choreographer comes in “Enough chitchat let’s get started.”

[9:45pm] -After Practice-

The boys all sit in JYP’s cafeteria and converse with GOT7 and DAY6.

“Wonpil hyung!” Minho taps him on the shoulder “Can you tell Hyunjin to stop being a baby and ask Y/N out.”

Everyone stops their talking and looks at Hyunjin who turned light pink.

“Hyunjin... is there something you want to say?” Young K and Jackson get up and stand behind him “Awww he has the crush on Y/N!!”

“I do not.” Hyunjin puts his head down “She doesn’t even like me.”

“Have you asked her?” Yugyeom asks “You won’t know if you don’t ask.”

“THATS WHAT I SAID!” Minho throws his hands in the air

“I don’t think she’s here today,” Bang Chan says “She’s usually with reception when we get here, but she wasn’t.”

“Oh, I think JYP hyung asked her to help ITZY today!” Felix shot up out of his seat “She’s their new assistant choreographer! We can go ask her now!”

“No, you just want to learn their dance!” Woojin pulls Felix’s arm “We all have the day off, so why don’t we all just hang out together.”

“Sounds great!” BamBam agreed “We can all gather at my dorm, I have more than enough space!”

“Okay, does noon sound good?” Asks Woojin

Everyone agrees to meet at BamBam’s dorm around noon. Except DAY6 will not be joining since they have rehearsal for their show this weekend. Bang Chan and Han go up to ITZY’s practice room to see if anyone them would like to tag along.

“Okay ladies, that’s all for today.” Y/N takes a drink of her water “We will continue on Thursday!”

“Thank you very much for helping Y/N!” Yeji gives her a hug

“It’s no problem.” The Door opens and in comes Bang Chan and Han “Oh hi Chan oppa, hi Han. Finished with practice.”

“Yeah we wanted to see if any of you wanted to hang out with us and GOT7 tomorrow.” Han asks “We will be meeting at BamBam hyung’d dorm.”

“I wish we could.” Ryujin frowns

“We have a photo shoot tomorrow for our profiles.” Lia steps forward “I think they start at 1:30pm.”

“Aww no fair!” Han pouts “Maybe next time.”

“What about you Y/N?” Bang Chan asks

“I can go!” She smiles “I miss hanging out with you guys!”

“Awesome, he moved to a bigger dorm so I’ll send you the address.” Bang Chan waves and leaves the practice room

“Do you know all of the groups here?” Yeji asks

Y/N turns around and nods “Yeah pretty much, my uncle is JYP.”

“WHAAAAAA!” They all squeak “That’s so cool!”

“Yeah I guess.” She shrugs “I’ll see you guys later! I look forward to seeing pictures!”

[10:30pm] -At Stray Kid’s Dorm-

“OH MY GOSH SHES WHAT!” Hyunjin stares at Bang Chan

“Yeah, I asked if she and ITZY wanted to hang out and Y/N said yes but ITZY has promotional things.” Bang Chan says sipping his water “Do you not want her to come?”

“No no no no.” Hyunjin rapidly shakes his head “Just... never mind.” Hyunjin disappers into his room

“He’s like... so whipped.” Seungmin laughs and continues to play the heated battle of checkers with Jeongin

[12:00pm] -The Next Day-

BamBam moved a few couches into a spare bedroom and finished making his many food items for his guest to arrive.

With the sound of the front door opening, “Welcome!” He bows “To my home.”

Yugyeom walks up to him and slaps him on the head “Stop being privileged!”

“Okay okay.” He laughs “Let me show you around.”

He shows his guest the bathrooms, basement (game room) and where he put his cats.

“Your places is noice!” Said Felix

“Thank you.” BamBam points to the basement door “Wanna go down into the basement? I kind of promised Felix & Minho we can play a few random dance games to start the evening.”

“YAAAAAY!” Both Felix And Minho high five and skip down the stairs “Let’s be on TEEEEAAMS!”

“Okay.” Jinyoung does a head count “Oh... Y/N isn’t here yet.”

“She should be on her way yeah?” Mark asked

Han pulled Felix and Minho close “if my maths is correct there’s 17 of us. Meaning there has to be a group of 3.”

Felix raised his groups hands “WE VOULENTEER AS TRIBUTE TO BE THE GROUP OF 3 SO HYUNJIN CAN BE WITH Y/N!”

“What!”

“Fine with me.” Jinyoung shrugs “Hyunjin call Y/N and make sure she’s okay.”

With that everyone heads into the basement leaving Hyunjin alone. “What just happened?”

He plops down on the couch and takes his phone out. Looking at her contact he takes a deep breath before hitting the call button and littering it ring.

Y/N: Hiiiii Hyunjin!!!

He blushes a little...

Hyunjin: Hi Y/N. Are you on your way?

Y/N: Yeah, the pupperz got out. He’s in the car right now.

Hyunjin: You’re bring your dog?

Y/N: *giggling* No silly. My brother is driving me. I’m actually here now... wanna opens the door?

Hyunjin springs off the couch and to the door, he sees someone wave and walk down the stairs.

Y/N smiles “Hi Hyunjin.”

“H-Hi Y/N.”

She walks inside, “His new place is awesome!”

“Yeah, a lot bigger.”

“Where is everyone?”

“There in the basement.” He points to the door behind him “They should be playing a random dance play right now. You and I are on a team together.”

“What are we waiting for!” She grabs his hand and runs down the stairs.

The only light source in the room comes from the disco lights and the huge projector. You can see Felix, Minho and Han dancing to Dance The Night Away. You both stop in between Jackson and Young K.

“Heeey Y/N!” You give Young K a hug “I thought you stood us up.”

“Never!”

“Good cause your team is up next!” Jackson pushes the both of you towards the center

You play dance and laugh at each other as the rest of them cheer you on. You make fun of each other as you both clearly don’t take the game seriously and dance your hearts out.

After all the groups finished, everyone went back upstairs to enjoy the foods BamBam prepared for them. Everyone broke off into little groups and sat with each other, some outside and some inside. You and Hyunjin are in the kitchen.

“Y/N..”

“Yeah,” You take another bite out of your watermelon

“I-I have something to tell you.” He looked everywhere else but at you

“Are you leaving me!!” You eyes go wide “Your leaving the company aren’t you.”

“No no no..” He fumbles with hid thumb “i’m not leaving the company.”

“Okay good.” You laugh a little “Are you okay? You look a little pink.” setting your watermelon down, you walk up to Hyunjin “Are you sick? Should I go Jinyoung oppa?” 

You turn to run out the kitchen but Hyunjin takes a hold of your wrist and pulls you into him. He hugs you really close  “ithinkyouarereallyprettyandwillyougoonadatewithme.” He says in one breath

You pull away out of the hug a little and giggle “Was that words?” You pinch his cheek “Try again but slower.”

He clears his throat “ I think you are really pretty and will you go on a date wi-with me?”

You just stare at face and just blink “You..wanna go on a date...with me?”

He nods his head “Ye-Yeah.”

You blush a little and look away, from the corner of your eye you see movement. You giggle “We’re being watched.” you whisper

“It’s okay.” Hyunjin shrug “So..uhm when would you like to go on..the date?”

“Hmm...” You shrug “I’ve never been on a date before, aren’t you supposed to come up with the plans?”

“NOT ALL THE TIME!” You hear Jackson yell. Everyone starts to hush him

Jinyoung peeks his head into the kitchen “Sorry babies, please continue.”

You and Hyunjin look at each other and laugh “Uhm, how about when we have our next off day?” Hyunjin asks “It’ll be a surprise on where we go?”

“Okay.” You give Hyunjin a kiss on the cheek and go back to eating your watermelon.
