sirius would help him cut his hair, give him his old clothes and just be very supportive of his little brother. like he and james would absolutely go beat up anyone who said something even slightly mean to reg

and when walburga eventually found out, sirius used his money from alphard to buy his own place and took regulus in immediately because no way in hell was he letting him go back to grimmauld. he came to pick up regulus for summer holiday and the only time regulus set foot in the black manor ever since was when he and sirius sneaked in to retrieve reg's belongings
