Ok so I also just really LOVE drawing dancing, although its so hard, its almost always worth the effort! So some desertduo dancing, and a few of my other favorite team-ups 💕

Headcanons ->

Scar is the first person to trip into a hole or fly face-first into a wall, but is an inexplicably natural dancer. He picks up any style effortlessly! This annoys Grian very much, who, though he can be 'graceful' in the air, is very clumsy on his feet.

Pearl and Gem's waltz is more of a duel of spinning. Who can get the other person dizzy enough to fall? This devolves into a tornado of cackling, lifting, tossing, whirling until either they both collapse or a sword fight breaks out 😂 It's fine, a sword fight has to break out at a party for either to consider it a success.

Cleo and Etho dance like they have no plan whatsoever. They are dancing with different styles to different tunes in their heads but somehow it just works? Toes are getting stepped on and elbows are getting bruised but they don't seem to notice or mind. This dance has worked for them for years, no reason to change it up now!

if you'll forgive the rare mention of shipping from me. okay. so my brain LOVES generating weird, slightly fucked-up aus. and so. okay. sometimes i think about the joke that jimmy is the oblivious protagonist to a harem anime or a dating game in most of his smps. which is obviously a fandom joke more than anything else but like, he DOES have a bunch of these ships. and then i ALSO think about the sometimes-valid, sometimes-invalid way people complain about shipping warping his and other people's characters. (for the record that's just how fandom works shipping or not shipping i take a neutral stance on this, it's just important for the au idea.)

so my brain came up with: the jimmy dating sim au. in which jimmy suddenly wakes up and his life is a dating sim. and at first he's... very very jimmy about it. he preens. he LOVES the fact the world suddenly seems to revolve around him. it's GREAT. he can see dialogue options and he still somehow sounds like an idiot when he talks to people but that's fine because he still chooses the BEST OPTIONS. he's doing GREAT. this is the BEST THING THAT'S EVER--

although. hm. it's... a little weird the world is revolving around him? grian and joel aren't being mean enough actually, which seems like a silly thing to complain about, but like, look, he likes it when people are mean. and tango is silly and sweet but he's--he's not normally that focused on jimmy. he's a project guy. and scott is--look, it's weird he's not flirting with anyone else, right? like, that's weird? and, and okay, he's... not sure how to name what's going on with fwhip but there's not enough animosity, and whatever martyn is doing is like, look, jimmy's used to being shot down more on this one, and--

and once jimmy starts seeing it he can't stop seeing it. the world's warped around him. he's the main character in a dating game. every time he picks an option that makes one of his friends (his friends!) like him more, it's like another little piece of their personality is chipped off of them. and as much as he loves being the center of attention, he misses being mocked. he misses people paying attention to other things. he misses the bits that are being sanded off. he doesn't want to be the one to break his friends. he misses the relationships they had, sharp edges and all, because goddammit, he likes that kind of relationship.

but he doesn't know how to stop it.

he doesn't know how long he can go down someone's route before the changes get irreversible.

and so jimmy sets out on a journey to figure out how to break the dating simulator he seems to have gotten stuck in and get his friends back to normal. before it's too late.

i love the use of human names in hetalia, because they can have such different meanings for different nations!! for younger nations like alfred, it's easy. it's a sign of closeness or endearment. he's always been "alfred f jones" the way he's always been "america", after all. but what about the older nations? denmark and norway smirking at each other over public meetings, calling each other their silly human names they have to use now to "blend in" with the humans. england learning to switch to arthur and finding that he weirdly likes it, likes the pressure it takes off his shoulders. him and france using each other's names like dennor do, at first, teasingly, like "ooh look at us pretending to be mortal little humans who haven't been fighting each other for centuries", but then it grows fonder, softer, less about the joke of "francis" and "arthur" and more about real intimacy. nations who use their names as a symbol of resistance and national pride, liet's happiness at being tolys, distinctly lithuanian, distinctly him after centuries of his language being demeaned, and then decades of it being prohibited in russia's household. nations using human names to mock and hurt each other after a betrayal, a nod to the intimacy they used to share. human names!!

Today has been raining A LOT which I find it oddly appropriate, since the moody sad weather fits perfectly. Pebbles hating on Sun? I'm here for it. I love your version of Suns so much because it just encapsulates all their flaws that people often ignore. Is this my Pebbles bias speaking? Yes absolutely. Nobody LETS Pebbles be angry towards Suns when he has every right to. They just let the anger be outweighed or completely ignored in the favor of Pebbles own screwups.

I want to see Pebbles come into his own, decide he has worth as a living person, and there is value in living. Then, as someone who values his OWN worth, realize that Suns was toxic. That their friendship and mentorship was toxic. Let him be angry and let him cut that out of his life so he can focus on righting his own wrongs (which Pebbles does canonically anyways).

Realistically, Sun's and Pebble's friendship would never be the same. Even if Pebbles forgave Suns, I can't see their relationship being anything but strained. Moon and Pebble's situation cannot be compared to this since Moon is A. extremely forgiving/patient and B. her collapse was an accident on Pebble's part. She was angry yes but chose to rekindle her relationship with Pebbles in the end.

Five Pebbles is a completely different person from Moon and has a right to handle his mentorship with Suns in HIS way. So yeah, I cannot see off the string Pebbles doing anything but trying to heal from what Suns did to him (while also dealing with his own guilt).
