as much as I love d:bh, my only gripe w it is that the humans (esp the main ones we interact w the most, rarely seem like millenials/gen-z grown up; it's like they are 30-60yr olds from today supplemented into a futuristic setting

like obviously there are commonalities in how people behave across generations but honestly, i feel like people born in 90s-early 2000s would make for Very Different people in 2038

#detroit become human #don't get me wrong #i love everything about the video game #but I never feel like the humans there are today's young adults grown up #just throws me off #but still a stellar game #100000/10 would recommend

The new Velma show is just...

EW. It’s basically the new “I am not Starfire” with the main character being the author’s mouthpiece and a bitch to everyone but still gets good things or has people fall in love with them.

Like, think about it.

A girl who all grungy, “not like other girls”, is not perceived as hot but also is by everyone??, seen as a role model for no reason, is constantly protected by plot armour, makes the shittest decisions but people still support her antics, shuts everyone out of her life but that makes people like her more???

They’re practically the same but with a different setting as one takes place in the DC universe and the other in Scooby Doo.

It’s bad and cringy.

And I’m gonna give you guys some more content because I’m so kind. Love y’all.

ABSOLUTELY

i already said hummingbirds can fly backwards (and they’re the only birds that can do so) but they can also fly sideways and straight upwards or downwards, and it’s because their wings have a ball and socket joint which lets them move 180° and therefore up, down, forwards, backwards and also in a figure of 8. the figure of 8 thing also lets them hover (they’re also the only birds that can properly hover). forwards, they can fly at over 60 mph and backwards they can fly at over 30mph

hummingbirds are on average 3 to 4 inches long and weigh about 3-5.5 grams. the BEE hummingbird is about 2 1/4 inches long and weighs like 1.6-1.9 grams (and a penny weighs like 3.5 grams so these things are TINY)

hummingbirds aren’t social and usually live solitary lives and they only get together to mate (the mother usually does stay with the babies though until they’re old enough to survive) bUUUT a flock of hummingbirds (which will probably never be seen, but still) can be called a bouquet, glittering, hover, tune or shimmer which sounds so pretty

they don’t have a sense of smell but their eyes work like a humans so they’re drawn to bright flowers, and their brain is larger in comparison to the size of their body than any other bird which makes them really smart. they have a really good memory and can like recognise and remember people. also they can’t walk or hop on their legs, only shuffle (poor little things)

their metabolism is so high that if a human had it they’d have to drink a can of coke every minute to stay alive. their hearts beat like 10 times a second (and their heart is like the size of the rubber on the end of a pencil) which is like 1200 beats a minute. BECAUSE of this they have to visit like 1500-2000 flowers to feed from for energy and they sleep for like 12 hours a day, and can enter a coma-like state called a torpor where their body temperatures and heart rates drop (about 50 beats per minute) and they wouldn’t wake up even if you dropped them. also ON FEEDING, they eat/drink nectar but we don’t think they have the dna for being able to taste it and they might have adapted their umami gland to be able to taste its sweetness

okay okay finally hummingbirds have a mating dance—it might have a name but i don’t remember that—and the males dive up to speeds of like 60 mph and they tweet, but not with their beaks, with their FEATHERS because of the wind ripping through them. humans can’t really hear it all but it’s apparently really complex when slowed down

ᡣ𐭩 ・it’s quite literally six in the morning and atsushi had woke up from his sleep. thinking that you’re still bundled up in your blankets in the dreamworld

ᡣ𐭩 ・ only to see your extremely exhausted and tired figure writing out reports and essays

ᡣ𐭩 ・he gets so so worried for you and immediately fusses

ᡣ𐭩 ・”[n-name] ? why are you up this early ? you didn’t sleep did you ?” he freaks out, only to sigh and usher you to bed to sleep for just a bit until you have to go to school

ᡣ𐭩 ・did help you with your projects as much as possible with the help of yosano and ranpo !

8/10 you ended up getting full marks because of him and the agency’s help ! and now he always writes little notes of encouragement to you on your lunchbox :>

CHUUYA ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁

ᡣ𐭩 ・it’s already three am and chuuya had just arrived home, expecting you to be asleep except that your bedroom light is still open

ᡣ𐭩 ・”[name] ? the hell are you doin up so late ? get to sleep.” he suddenly pops his head into your room, immediately making you scream at the sudden voice and he flinches too from the loud ear pericing scream

ᡣ𐭩 ・obviously, chuuya is irritated at the fact that you’re still awake. doing revision for your assignment and homework at three am when you should be in bed. after all, teenagers need their sleep, don’t they ? that’s what koyou taught him

ᡣ𐭩 ・he doesn’t exactly rushes you off to bed right away. but sighs, grabs a chair, sits down and helps you with what he can. ends up making your favourite drink and pours a cup of wine for himself a few minutes later, rolling his eyes and hides away the bottle when you beg for one sip

ᡣ𐭩 ・the two of you work until four am and then he picks up all of your notes, schedule everything and proceeded to take it to his room to make sure you at least get some rest and not get out of your bed to do more

ᡣ𐭩 ・he gets really worried about the amount of homework you had to do so when it’s the weekend, he takes you out with Elise for some fun

ᡣ𐭩 ・also ends up making a schedule that you have to be in bed by two am. no excuses.

ᡣ𐭩 ・also tries to lessen your workload by helping out with your revision and your studies so that you can relax more

overall, a 7.6/10 didn’t go to school so he couldn’t help much but more points for effort and trying to get you to relax more + the fact that he’s helping you lesson your workload and making sure you get enough sleep

ᡣ𐭩 ・I swear that man is a bad influence and would only tell you to stop studying etc etc.
