Success Story Using Your States Challenge 🎉
Hello Maya! I've got to confess, I used to despise the concept of states. It made it seem to me like bloggers were simply being lazy and deceiving us because at first, it made zero sense. If I could just choose to embody any state, then why was my life in shambles? Why was I poor, why was I abused?unattractive, and suffering? When did I choose to embody these states?
But then it hit me! Whether consciously or subconsciously, whether due to coincidence or purposeful, whether knowingly or ignorantly, I realized that if I wanted to manifest my dream life, I had to take accountability for the negative aspects as well. That's the law of reversibility. It was a bitter pill to swallow initially because I've been through some really tough shit experiences that I wouldn't wish upon anyone.
It wasn't my fault, but I kept replaying those old stories, and reliving them hence creating my reality . But I learned that I could use this to my advantage. I could replace the old story with a new one that fulfilled me.
I started making choices aligned with my dream life. Every time I encountered something from the old story, I chose to perceive it differently. Working with an abusive manager? Odd, because in my state, I'm a trust fund baby. Seeing an unattractive reflection in the mirror? Confusing, because I have a social media following based on my looks alone bc of pretty privilege. My bank account nearing zero? Must be an error, because I have millions in savings and investments.
I strongly recommend checking out these posts for additional insights:
Pink's post on overcoming doubt
Angel's advice on states
Bambi's tips on manifesting under unfavorable circumstances
Maya's post on time
Since embracing this mindset, I've manifested so much! Like literally waking up with a whole new life. I've moved to LA, gained a large social media following (100k on Instagram, 200k on YouTube, and 1 million on TikTok), and now live in a beautiful house in Beverly Hills. I attend a prestigious private high school with other celebrity kids. My dad (revised) is retiring from the NFL, and my mom is a successful interior designer.
I've also manifested my dream body (Alexis ren), dream face (I am so pretty it’s not even fair) dream cars (Lamborghini Urus, Tesla Model X, and Porsche 911 GT3), an enviable closet and room, a loyal friend group, and much more. My list was about 100 pages long, very specific, and yet my life turned out even better than I could have imagined!
Thank you so much and Happy New Year! 💋
I am very happy for you! I’m glad you kept reaching for your dreams and inspiring yourself and thank you for inspiring others 🤍🕊️✨Honestly I forgot what state challenge you’re talking abt bc I genuinely lowkey don’t remember making that post… like who knows where my mind was but regardless wishing you a lifetime of happiness and success! So glad I could help

So I did like three more headshots cuz I got sidetracked during a comm Anywaysssss
Presenting Malachi first :33 my beautiful lovely baby boy who is most definitely the prettiest boy in the village. Definitely would be more of a heartbreaker if like. He didn’t accidentally speak like Phoenix Drop’s equivalent of a medieval poet trying to converse with like modern day folks.
Also I gave him a bandana because everyone and their mother has a green scarf and it gets far too confusing and aggravating after awhile
Tumblr media
Erm next is Molly :33 I do have a Molly design page I never shared and I won’t ever share cuz I never finished it ♡ anyways to me she definitely is like a waitress/head lady at a tavern with an inn on the second floor in Phoenix Drop, at least I believe she met Dale there and sparks flew between the two or something. Idk I like drawing her holding two big glasses of beer and having some level of charisma even if she’s like overbearing and shit outside of work.
Tumblr media
And lastly Yip :3 tbh I looked at my whole doodle sheet and realized I accidentally like drew blondes vs brunettes so I ended it off with yip even tho he technically has black hair and not brown hair I like to think he has a pretty ample amount of body hair and thick wavy hair from the werewolf genes and also just cuz he’s gorgeous or whatever. The town’s big brother and I don’t really remember much sorryyyyy lol
I also think he has sharpened and slightly elongated ears but not in the way elves/half elves do but more of a weird shape idk I’ll draw it better later just guess for now
Tumblr media
Oh and like one final thing I accidentally mistook Alexis for having a crush on Malachi and not Yip so I drew this to show how he just effortlessly sparkles before Cal told me I was wrong <\3
My beautiful boy with gorgeous lashes and droopy sparkly eyes or whatever. I would’ve drawn him with his hair tied but he would’ve looked too much like vylad to me and I would’ve gotten mad so unpractical hair it is!!!
Tumblr media
Ehe thats all for today and probably the next couple of weeks so toodles ☆

Been thinking about my experiences as a POC within fandom while also being an artist and how much that sucks sometimes. This is primarily in regards to the Redacted fandom, but could be applied to any other fandom honestly.
Proper "fussing" under the cut (for those who would rather not see):
Sometimes, I really stop and think about what it must be like to be a white person in fandom, especially when you're an artist. To see yourself reflected in the spaces you exist in all the time. There are some exceptions to this, of course. For example, lack of body diversity is just as much of a problem in my opinion (Like fat people exist. Disabled people exist. Fat, disabled people exist. You can draw them, y'know? /rhet) But generally speaking, it's not difficult to find designs that probably look like you. There will be blondes, brunettes, redheads even— It's everywhere you look.
I don't think most people realize how isolating that ends up feeling though.
Because it's not just the fact that most of the art/designs you'll stumble upon won't resemble you. It's the fact that the prevalence dictates how everyone else interacts with fandom too.
Do you know how much it sucks seeing a post saying "So we all agree that Asher's blonde, right?" and knowing that most people are thinking of a white guy and nothing else?
Or noticing how Alexis, a generally "hated" character in the fandom, is the only vampire most people are willing to make visibly brown?
How about the fact that Gavin, the "thrilling" and "sexy" incubus, has so many black and brown designs— But I can count the non-white Lasko designs I've come across on my hand?
People can do whatever they want. I've said it before, and I'll continue to repeat it when I make these rambles. If you want to make every single design you have varying shades of white and never stray from that, that's your prerogative. But for the love of god, I wish I didn't feel like I was fucking crazy for talking about how much that shit sucks to see as a person of color.
On top of that, do you know how frustrating it is to watch white artists get praised for generic diversity when POC artists have been consistently bringing forth such compelling, stunning designs to table? Like I see the kind of shit that gets praised in this fandom and what doesn't. Racial ambiguity or the slightest addition of a curl gets treated like it's revolutionary— And that's only if it's the "correct" character. It has to "make sense", right? The same way Sam has to have sun-kissed, golden skin even after he's been turned, or the way Guy has to be white because there's no way someone with that personality could be anything but.
Do you know what it's like to be filled with such a sense of joy because someone made a design where a character had your skin tone or hair texture or facial feature? Like, I genuinely have a strong reaction whenever I find a black or brown design in this fandom because they're so rare in comparison to everything else. And when I really stop to think about that, I realize how fucked up of a phenomenon that is.
I love the designs that I've made, but I've also noticed which ones "do better" comparably. I don't change much of anything with how I go about posting or promoting them. The only difference is that some of them fit what is considered widely "canon" in fandom. And the others... don't. I go out of my way to make every design POC in some regard, and you can usually tell visually even without the addition of colors. I'm not gonna stop doing that because I know why I started in the first place. But fuck, it does start to hurt seeing white artists with the same general white designs get hyped up endlessly while I internally debate if I should even make another character look like me or not. If it'll even matter to anyone but me.
Some days, I just really wish it didn't feel like shit being black in this fandom. I hate knowing that I'm gonna post this, and I'll probably get responses for other people of color primarily.
But maybe putting this out will help that pill get easier to swallow.

What does play mean as an adult?
I’ve been thinking about this a lot. I want to play like I did as a kid- enact little stories, talk, walk my dolls across the room. But every time I try, I feel silly.
I think that’s okay, though. I am playing. I make up stories for my dolls. I print out miniature worksheets for their school backpacks, I find tiny objects to put on their beds. I write for them. I imagine their school days, their favorite subjects, little quirks of their personalities.
While I’ve lost a little piece of “play”, I’ve gained others. I’ve gained the ability to source accurate schoolwork for two characters who live in Russia, and make realistic clay sculptures for their school lunch. I have disposable income. I have a better developed sense of color and design, and when I have ideas, I can realize them.
Maybe I’ll get to a point where I can do it all, but I’m pretty content with the way I play. I set a standard that play meant thumping my doll’s legs along the floor and speaking with her voice. And that’s play, but play is also filling in the pages of Sayana’s notebooks, and making stress toys for Alexis, and lining up little jars of flour and sugar on Kirsten’s bedside table.

THOUGHTS WHILE WATCHING GILMORE GIRLS: S3/EP4/ONE’S GOT CLASS THE OTHER ONE DYES (PART 2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luke and Lorelai both have "unique" approaches to conducting business, I'll give them that. This chapter was rough for me to write for some reason and then I LOST my draft partway through and had to rewrite everything! Some things that are happening:
-Lane attempts to initiate a conversation with Mrs Kim about her new band. She loses her courage before Mrs. Kim presents her with applications to strict Christian colleges. -Michel suggests that the honor of being named a Successful Person in Business is a low bar to clear when Lorelai's only business competitor in Stars Hollow is a presumably homeless and/or mentally ill fellow who scours the streets for change with a metal detector. I mean, yeah, he has more ambition and a better work ethic than Lorelai does.
-Luke is reluctant about the speaking gig and Lorelai threatens to embarrass him by singing badly in public if he does not comply. He may as well refuse since she's going to embarrass him on a daily basis no matter what he does anyway? -Luke says he went to Stars Hollow High for three years. Huh? I thought he's lived in The Hollow his entire life? High school is four years long. Did he move, drop out or graduate early? No explanation was given at this point in time.
Tumblr media
-Luke has "no good memories" of high school. Join the club. -Luke asks Lorelai if she's ever been diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder. No, the answer you're looking for is no. She is unmedicated and dangerous.
Tumblr media
My beloved Tomatos Sign is missing! You'd think it was because after 3 years the prop department noticed the spelling error and took it down to fix it. You would be wrong. It'll return shortly to be Tomatos for several more years. Should I ask that Valerie Campbell lady (as "key set designer" is her title, I believe) why it took 5+ years for someone to notice one of the most visible props for the entire run of the series had a spelling error?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lane is interesting. Yes, she is naive in many ways, that's a given with her upbringing. But she is also painfully self aware and highly intelligent. She is definitely not stupid. She fully realizes how desperately boxed in she is by her neurotic mother. She makes the effort and takes risks to live life on her own terms even though it usually seems futile and AmyShermanPalladino is always lurking around a corner waiting to shatter all her hopes and dreams. Rory on the other hand is such a pathetic people pleaser and so desperate to keep her mother happy that I think she's blind to the fact that she's actually in a similar situation, Lorelai just masks it under the veneer of being a "cool young mom" and Rory is content to remain more stagnant. I have more thoughts on this subject but let's not make this into a rambly mess. On with the ShitCircus.
I can't believe it looks there's another fucking festival going on in the background. I am grateful some of these seasonal events exist because it helps me keep track of where we are in the year. There's pumpkins, it's fall, the Thanksgiving episode is still a ways away so I can assume it’s early October and Rory would have just had her 18th birthday.
Tumblr media
Lane and Rory on their way to harrass Queen Shane at her place of employment. Minimum wage in 2002 was $5.15, by the way. Look at that Rory, someone your age has a JOB that makes MONEY.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stars Hollow, the land where nobody has seen a tv show produced after 1975 but the references to modern pop and rock music flow like wine.
Tumblr media
Alexis really does have some spectacular defeated/fed up with everything facial expressions in her acting playbook.
Tumblr media
Sure her customer service skills aren't the greatest, but if Lorelai Gilmore is allowed to leave work in the middle of the day to shop for coffins then Shane should be allowed to read a Seventeen behind the counter and ignore Rory. Her manager, Cynthia, is pretty chill and will look the other way if Shane slacks off. Reminder that while Rory knows who Shane is, Rory has barely been a glint in the corner of Shane's eye. Any time that Shane and Rory have shared the same space, it's been when Shane runs into the diner, makes out with Jess, and doesn't look back. Because she is a god damn superhero.
Tumblr media
It's unlikely Jess and Shane ever use their tongue for talking either so I doubt Jess has told her who Rory is. So to Shane Rory is just some random customer who is staring at her weirdly like she's trying to melt her with her eye-beams.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at that exemplary customer service. Better crown her Employee of the Month now, before Jess offs her and throws her in the lake next month.
Tumblr media
Dirty white aprons with tomato can accessories are the newest sensation on the 2002 Paris Runways. Luke Danes, fashion icon. Time to go to class. Lorelai is there to play Fashion Fairy Godmother. Upstairs we go to get him out of that sweaty flannell.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's so filthy. L&L barge into the apartment without knocking to find Jess in the middle of pulling up his pants. Walking into any room that a teenage boy might occupy is a risky game, but Interruption seems to be Lorelai's biggest kink.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know Jess is just a poor little street urchin but can we get him some clothes that fit for once? In 2002 Milo was so smol a stiff breeze could have blown him away. He's wearing a belt and it's not working. Those pants are so baggy they could fit 3 Milos in them. Not that I would mind if his pants fell down. Looks we're on Gilmore Girls Time today, where down is up and right is left as Luke and Lorelai are about to give speeches at Stars Hollow High in the middle of the school day but Shane, Lane, Rory and Jess are not in school and no one cares, so it's Who The Fuck Knows O'Clock.
Stars Hollow High: Jess is not graduating because he never went to class. Luke: How could I possibly know that? Jess settles into a chair with a chemistry textbook. Our Child Labor Kingpin here Luke Danes tells him to go help Cesar downstairs. Jess says his education is more important than Luke's desire to use his nephew for cheap child labor. Luke disagrees. Luke goes to change in his bedroom leaving Lorelai, Jess, and a cloud of awkard silence to mingle in the other room. Luke has a book on his shelf called "Forty Days" but i can't find anything with that title. It sounds kinda erotic, tbh. Lorelai says she's gone swimming with Luke and has seen him shirtless before. Que? Jess: Have you seen him with his shirt off lately? He's really let himself go. Lorelai: *Sneers and ignores him. (to Luke): And lose the baseball hat! Jess: I think his head will fall off without it. Lorelai (snarkily): I think he'll be okay. You wanted Jess to talk, right? You're going to continue bitching to everyone you know that Jess Mariano only speaks in grunts like a caveman unlike your little fucking English scholar there Dean Forrester, right? He just lobbed you two funny quips in a row (and you love funny quips!) but now you're silent and giving him a dirty look and a nasty attitude. WHAT DO YOU EVEN WANT, WOMAN? MAKE UP YOUR MIND! WHY SO SILENT QUIPPY! WHAT DID THIS CHILD EVER DO TO YOU!
Tumblr media
I'm just gonna sit here and read my little Chemistry book, and one day I'm gonna make 40 kajillion dollars when my books are made into blockbuster movies, and I will own you, Aunt Lorelai. I will own you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lorelai doing the Fry squint at Jess when he asked if something was wrong, because she refused to make conversation with him.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Gilmore Girls Time. Let's stop the clock for a minute here. Moments ago, Shane was at work. She rang up Rory and Lane, and they left immediately. The scene then cuts to Lorelai entering the diner and then after he gets a brief lecture about his clothing choices, Lorelai and Luke start to head upstairs so he can change. In order for Closet Girl to be Shane, her shift would have ended seconds after she finished with Rory and Lane, and then she would have to immediately run down the street, sneak upstairs to Luke's apartment without him noticing and would only be seconds into servicing Jess as Luke and Lorelai are about to walk in PLUS he would need time to hide her in the closet and pull up his pants and appear cool calm and collected. I know Shane is a slutty superhero but could she really put that off in just a few minutes? Conclusion? It wasn't actually Shane in that closet and Jess has a rotation of girls who skip school with him to service him in his uncle's closet.

Mardi Gras History
Tumblr media
The origins of Mardi Gras can be traced to medieval Europe, passing through Rome and Venice in the 17th and 18th centuries to the French House of the Bourbons. From here, the traditional revelry of "Boeuf Gras," or fatted calf, followed France to her colonies.
On March 2, 1699, French-Canadian explorer Jean Baptiste Le Moyne Sieur de Bienville arrived at a plot of ground 60 miles directly south of New Orleans, and named it "Pointe du Mardi Gras" when his men realized it was the eve of the festive holiday. Bienville also established "Fort Louis de la Louisiane" (which is now Mobile) in 1702. In 1703, the tiny settlement of Fort Louis de la Mobile celebrated America's very first Mardi Gras.
In 1704, Mobile established a secret society (Masque de la Mobile), similar to those that form our current Mardi Gras krewes. It lasted until 1709. In 1710, the "Boeuf Gras Society" was formed and paraded from 1711 through 1861. The procession was held with a huge bull's head pushed along on wheels by 16 men. Later, Rex would parade with an actual bull, draped in white and signaling the coming Lenten meat fast. This occurred on Fat Tuesday.
New Orleans was established in 1718 by Bienville. By the 1730s, Mardi Gras was celebrated openly in New Orleans, but not with the parades we know today. In the early 1740s, Louisiana's governor, the Marquis de Vaudreuil, established elegant society balls, which became the model for the New Orleans Mardi Gras balls of today.
The earliest reference to Mardi Gras "Carnival" appears in a 1781 report to the Spanish colonial governing body. That year, the Perseverance Benevolent & Mutual Aid Association was the first of hundreds of clubs and carnival organizations formed in New Orleans.
By the late 1830s, New Orleans held street processions of maskers with carriages and horseback riders to celebrate Mardi Gras. Dazzling gaslight torches, or "flambeaux," lit the way for the krewe's members and lent each event an exciting air of romance and festivity. In 1856, six young Mobile natives formed the Mistick Krewe of Comus, invoking John Milton's hero Comus to represent their organization. Comus brought magic and mystery to New Orleans with dazzling floats (known as tableaux cars) and masked balls. Krewe members remained anonymous.
In 1870, Mardi Gras' second Krewe, the Twelfth Night Revelers, was formed. This is also the first recorded account of Mardi Gras "throws."
Newspapers began to announce Mardi Gras events in advance, and they even printed "Carnival Edition" lithographs of parades' fantastic float designs (after they rolled, of course - themes and floats were always carefully guarded before the procession). At first, these reproductions were small, and details could not be clearly seen. But beginning in 1886 with Proteus' parade "Visions of Other Worlds," these chromolithographs could be produced in full, saturated color, doing justice to the float and costume designs of Carlotta Bonnecase, Charles Briton and B.A. Wikstrom. Each of these designers' work was brought to life by talented Parisian paper-mache' artist Georges Soulie', who for 40 years was responsible for creating all of Carnival's floats and processional outfits.
1872 was the year that a group of businessmen invented a King of Carnival, Rex, to preside over the first daytime parade. To honor the visiting Russian Grand Duke Alexis Romanoff, the businessmen introduced Romanoff's family colors of purple, green and gold as Carnival's official colors. Purple stands for justice; gold for power; and green for faith. This was also the Mardi Gras season that Carnival's improbable anthem, "If Ever I Cease to Love," was cemented, due in part to the Duke's fondness for the tune.
The following year, floats began to be constructed entirely in New Orleans instead of France, culminating with Comus' magnificent "The Missing Links to Darwin's Origin of Species," in which exotic paper-mache' animal costumes served as the basis for Comus to mock both Darwin's theory and local officials, including Governor Henry Warmoth. In 1875, Governor Warmoth signed the "Mardi Gras Act," making Fat Tuesday a legal holiday in Louisiana, which it still is.
Like Comus and the Twelfth Night Revelers, most Mardi Gras krewes today developed from private social clubs with restrictive membership policies. Since all of these parade organizations are completely funded by their members, New Orleanians call it the "Greatest Free Show on Earth!"

This meme is literally Michael and me:
Tumblr media
I'm Bi (:D) and Genderfluid and he's Cis and also not super into labels. He told me once awhile ago that he was thinking that he's maybe Pan, but the thing that seems to define him best is Gynesexual, which I think is super cool because I'd never met anyone who was Gynesexual before. That was also the partial inspiration for making my Bob's Burgers OC, Alexis, Androsexual.
Also, this was completely unintentional, but I realized recently that my design for Alexis looks just like Michael. I swear I didn't do that on purpose, but now, I'm honestly not complaining.
Anyway, we're a very LGBTQ+ couple and that makes my LGBTQ+ heart very happy 😌
Oh yes, and he's thinking about getting a Tumblr so I'm going to try my best to convince him to get one so I can immediately follow him 👀

SLAYYY I haven't posted anything at all in awhile SO! I'm gonna info dump about Starscream and my personal like story for him that I have planned out
This is more like a mixture of different concepts and continuities of Starscream and how I personally see him!!!
If you have any other questions about my Starscream my ask box is open :D
TW: after the pictures there WILL be mentions of @bus3 so if you don't wanna know about his like backstory and stuff like that please don't read that section!
Tumblr media
First up, his full appearance! Yes it may seem a bit wonky how I colored it BUT it was all intentional, I'll explain in a second why I gave him the different colored optics BUT. his shoulder pad thingies are a reference to coronation Starscream where he has the purple shoulder pads. Originally I was going to make the pads PURPLE but I changed on that idea since it would add too many colors to Starscream's already colorful appearance.
I gave him a heart on his little forehead thingy because I thought It would be cool if that could represent the Decepticon logo type deal
I mixed IDW TAAO Starscream with a tiny bit of armada screamer, again, I thought it'd be cool. His hands are also build like TFP Starscream's, he's got CLAWS
Tumblr media
At first they were like simple little kitty paws but then they EVOLVED and so now he's got that TFP drip
Tumblr media
IM ALSO GOING TO EXPLAIN HIS EYES, his eyes are like that cause 1 I thought they were cool and 2 in some IDW comics I saw that he had yellow eyes kind of like some versions of Optimus or Soundwave, I thought it'd be cool to make a yellow/gold eye type deal and then the other eye red because it's also cool and 3 I'm indecisive.
Tumblr media
Next up is Starscream facts before I go on to explain his short backstory
So like he is trans FTM, I have an unfinished design for that aswell
He's a lot more empathetic than usual screamers
Kinda like armada Starscream where he was friends with Alexis
He is polyamorous :)
And also has anger issues he's trying to work on
After the war he also became emperor because I love that he rules over a planet
He still sucks at it and makes horrible decisions, he's still selfish and shit like that lol
Starscream has a link to his trine(skywarp and Thundercracker) through his spark which is swaggy
So again TW for @bus3 and stuff like that. Nothing sexual though /srs
Megatron had convinced Starscream to join the Decepticons because Starscream was leader of the air command on Cybertron, who also studied Science and a bit of history. And also star joined the cons because he was tired of being treated like he was just some tool. Megatron was like a father figure to Starscream at first. After some time Starscream started realizing how many holes Megatron's leadership, Starscream's respect for the bot started fading as he started snapping and acting more arrogant n shi towards Megatron which lead to Megatron beating the spark out of Starscream more and more often, leaving him absolutely BEAT UP and so like it started becoming worse, Megatron started mentally manipulating his second in command, emotionally aswell, this lead Starscream to fear Megatron, to the point that Starscream having his negative thoughts like anxiety etc basically calling those thoughts "Megatron's voice". When Megatron almost died Starscream still brought Megatron to safety.
So Starscream kept being loyal to Megatron, slowly planning his downfall, Megatron knew about this, knowing Starscream isn't trustworthy. Then other Decepticons like shockwave and Soundwave would degrade him or make fun of him aswell. This made Starscream have cool little trust issues. When Starscream reunited with Jetfire he was finally relieved at the fact someone didn't treat him like literal trash- BUT! since all of Starscream's trauma he was kind of aggressive towards Jetfire, which resulted in Jetfire leaving to join the Autobots which made Starscream have abandonment issues aswell.
It's all janky and shit but if you have any questions I'm happy to answer :D

⭐ Minako ⭐
Oh wow, that was fast. 😅
There wasn’t really anything specific stated other than Minako, so I’ll just talk about the thing that I’m dying to talk about her.
Minako’s hair and wardrobe
Now, I recall making character designs of Minako’s parents, but they’re due for a more polished design, especially Flora since I intend to give her wavier hair. I like to think that Minako and Alexis both got their mother’s wavy hair.
And yes, I did say Minako’s hair is naturally wavy. Along with using spells to do her space buns, she also straightens her hair. She started doing this when she started going to Hogwarts because she believed her hairstyle and natural waves made her look too childish. It was either the space buns or the waves that had to go, and she said goodbye to her waves for a good six years. However, she gradually stops straightening her hair ever since she landed in Twisted Wonderland since she is going back to her ancestral roots (heh).
As you can see, I tend to switch between Minako’s straight hair and wavy hair. It really depends on my mood
People like to say that Minako is as pretty as her mother, and there is some truth to that. At a glance, Minako takes after her father, but the colour of her hair and her complexion is where the resemblance stops. The structure of Minako’s face matched her mother in almost every way from the shape of her eyes, her nose, and her smile. It goes beyond looks too. Minako and Flora are ambitious individuals and love the outdoors. I have this scene in mind that Minako will look in the mirror one day and realize how much she looks just like her mother. It horrifies her and saddens her a bit.
When Vil finds out that Minako’s hair is naturally wavy, he gets on her case for not letting her waves develop, so he gives her some styling creams and oils suited for type 2 hair.
Another trivia about Minako’s hair is that during her second year of Hogwarts and still processing her traumatic summer, she started styling her hair is several different ways to cope. Dyeing her hair, chopping it off, growing it back again using potions—every week, she would look different, it got to a point where Minako was considering shaving her head so an intervention was staged as requested by her housemates. They put her in the duelling club as a better alternative of coping, especially since she got kicked out of the Quidditch team for fighting with Warren Willoughby.
Okay, moving on from hair, we have Minako’s wardrobe. She is a vintage and thrift store lurker. I actually have a wip right now showing the progression of Minako’s outfits from her muggle life in London to being spirited away to twisted wonderland.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Life before NRC, her outfits still generally had a vintage flare to them, but the fantastical elements are quite subdued and are very muggle-like. I feel like she unconsciously tried to keep her magical and muggle life seperate as a result of being forbidden from using underage magic. Now, being twisted wonderland, Minako’s outfits become more and more grand and spectacular (i.e. Alice frock from the revenge unbirthday party, the event outfits, her dorm uniform, which I have yet to pick a design for). Her skirts will become bigger, there are more sparkly embellishments, maybe even some outlandish patterns.
I’m also into the idea of Minako adopting a similar colour palette to Crewel’s to showcase their guardian-child relationship. Minako’s main colours are already black and white and even wears splashes of red as nod to Mickey’s outfit.
Phew! Thank you for letting ramble. I thought this would be quick, but I should go to sleep by now so that I can wake up for work early tomorrow.

I wanna talk my eyes out about what's happening but i won't bc i don't want to get in trouble for it
1-The Alexis problem
I don't think we have enough information about her to like her or not, miguel from the shaw pack exists, no one cares about him, why? Because we don't know him enough to have assumptions about them, no one should have an opinion about her, neither bad or good
2-the race problem ( im bi-racial black dad ginger mom, and im in the darker side)
I thought that i was a part of that and was being called out by it until i realized that i do have planty of POC that aren't just huxley and darlin (who i still have problems with their design) and i think its also no one's business how someone else's character/design looks
I made my huxley black/brown because he was kind loving and understanding , not bc he's a "stoner" (which i don't hc him as such) not bc he's an athlete
I don't need to put him in racist situations so my hcs are "valid" to you, not everyone experience the same things, where i live, we don't have "black neighborhoods", where i live, we all live together, no matter the race,
Anyone making others see their POC characters in a racist situations are making racism valid, they're making it ok, and thats the problem, you shouldn't do that because america is wrong in treating POC differently,
i want to make my world where racism is little-to-no existing, it's non of your business who is and who isn't a POC in my world, you have yours do what you want in there

It's Okay to be Jealous...
Tumblr media
I'll be honest: I'm one of those people prone to envy, ever since I was a kid, especially when it comes to content creation. Heh, believe it or not, I even feel a bit of envy in regards to Corn Kidz 64 and Bogosoft; although, I'd understand if you had a hard time believing it, since I clearly adore the game, and especially Seve and Alexis. I'd love to see a sequel or at least more of our goat duo!
If you really wanna know, it stems from another independent creator fairing better and the praise of Seve having one of the best character designs ever. Let's just say, I haven't always gotten the nicest of comments back then regarding art/etc., plus the fear of never creating something that can actually take off (I like the idea of creating an actual franchise).
I guess that sometimes, when it comes to creative work, you'll eventually face the realization that maybe you won't see the success some can: you're not of the same level of talent with something, you're just not of the same ability to stand out... Of course, I don't create stuff just for attention, I clearly just have the standard passion and interest; although, I will have the typical questions, "Why am I not as good?" or, "Why is it not doing 'as well' as some other things...?".
However, I'll never stop creating. I love to bring ideas to life and provide entertainment to whomever may stumble across them, the issue is simply not being able to find a way to be purely satisfied with just simply creating/posting. I dunno, maybe it's a need for "redemption" or something?
At the end of it all, though, I can at least take comfort in the fact I'm not the type of person to be all hateful nor sabotaging of those I may feel envy toward. Seriously, Bogosoft, disregard my butthurt feelings and make more Corn Kidz 64 stuff!! At least gimme my goats, I need them!!
I also imagine Alexis being all comforting and understanding of things, as she does seem like quite the sweetheart. Of course, I'm making Claire a stand-in once more, and her arms are indeed that long.

📖, 💡?
Two excellent questions. We'll take 'em in order!
📖 My favorite class or playbook from a game.
It's funny, this question. I'm someone who prefers to run games rather than play in them, so I don't really spend a lot of time thinking about classes/playbooks unless I'm designing a game (my current project has had me doing a lot of reading over different playbooks for inspiration). So I'm going to cheat and give you two answers.
The first answer is the Ghelf from TheOriginalCockatrice's game Troupe. The Gelf is a preening pissant, someone petty and small and full of self-importance with a flair for the dramatic. They are hard and bitter but believe themselves to be loving and sweet. They are in so much agonizing denial that my heart hurts to think about it. I think TheOriginalCockatrice did a phenomenal job expressing the ghelf's wretchedness, their vulnerability, and their allure.
The real answer is the one I am embarrassed about, the one I knew was my answer as soon as I read the question, the one class that has stuck with me since I read it as a middle schooler in the Complete Warrior book for dnd 3.5. I feel like an indie ttrpg poser that my favorite class is one from dnd, but let me talk to you about the Warshaper and maybe you'll see why it has been in my bones since I was 13.
The Warshaper is a prestige class, something that doesn't exist in dnd 5e (thank goodness). Prestige classes had to be built into, you had to multiclass in just the right way, do the right in-game things to qualify, take the right character customization options. And some of them were utter garbage and some of them were incredibly powerful. Like many things in 3.x, there was a kernel of a good idea somewhere in there, but the implementation was horrible.
The Warshaper's most onerous requirement was that you had to be able to change your shape, to transform from one body to another. A wizard's polymorph would do, as would a druid's wildshape. As would being a werecreature, as well. And the central premise of the Warshaper class was: what if you could change your body better? Now, this was dnd, so the implementation was all about combat - you can grow more natural weapons, they do more damage, you can rearrange your organs and muscles to make you immune to critical hits, your limbs can extend up to 10ft away from you. But the idea behind the class was immediately compelling, and as a deeply, deeply closeted trans teenager, as soon as I read this class I knew I wanted to be it, in a powerful and personal way. I also, being a deeply, deeply closeted trans teenager, never attempted to build a character that could take the class. I thought about dnd a lot more than I played it, and I made dozens of characters. And I was never brave enough to make someone who could transcend their body-of-birth and take this class, at least not until many years later, in college, when I played my first female character. Playing her was probably the closest I came to realizing I was trans until my egg actually did crack.
So, yeah, the answer I like to that question is the Ghelf. My real answer is the Warshaper.
💡 A game that inspired my own design or creative practice
Here I have many equally true answers. Honorable mention to dnd 3.5 for being so poorly designed that I had to start designing for it to patch up the gaps and salvage something good from it.
The actual answer, well, one of them, is Kazumi Chin's Rogue 2e, which is a love letter to the OSR and storygame ttrpg genres. Rogue 2e is an elegant game. It uses as few rules and mechanics as possible to communicate worlds of potential. Chin's game really opened my eyes to indie ttrpgs more broadly and proved that the adventuring ttrpg experiences I had grown up on could be built in so many more ways than I had thought possible.
Another answer, and the last I'll give for now, is Alexis Smolensk's D&D. Smolensk is a phenomenal writer and his blog (tao-dnd.blogspot.com) is an invaluable resource to anyone looking to run, play in, or design adventure ttrpgs. He has been building his world and expanding his rules for decades with the care and artistry of an expert craftsman. He showed me what adventure games could be, that the skills involved in running them could be deeper than I had ever imagined. I will spend the rest of my life trying to meet his skill level, and I hope that one day people playing in my setting can have half the fun I had playing in his.

Okay but hear me out.
A Big Time Movie/GX au
Obviously we're taking some creative liberties here
In the band we have:
Atticus - Leader/pretty boy heartthrob, our main character. Having the time of his life on tour until they get sucked into a spy caper! It's kinda fun though lol. Totally in once they learn that the entire world is in jeopardy! If they can't save the world they can't continue the tour!
Jaden - cute lovable moron, the first to realize there's some weird stuff going on, but he just kinda brushes it off at first. It's fiiiiiiiiine! .....or is it 👀 literally so into the idea of being a spy dude.
Bastion - the smart one/token British member, very against the idea of going along with the spy stuff when it goes down. It's not safe and they have their tour and other responsibilities to worry about! Besides, they're not spies! They should leave this to the professionals! Cue Logan getting shot with darts and literally dragged along 3 times
Aster - bad boy with a heart of gold, actually knew Sartorius when they were kids, but he disappeared one day and he never heard from him again. Honestly upset to learn he's now an evil cult leader bent on world domination and probably doesn't even remember who he is anymore... but saving the world would mean saving Sartorius right...? Only one way to find out.
And our other main cast:
Sartorius - Sir Atticus Moon Our villain, leader of the Society of Light ofc, trying to take over the world via his evil satellite a la both the actual movie and season 2 lolol
Adrian - Hammer guy Sartorius's head goon, former spy gone rogue and now working with Sartorius to take over the world! But maybe he has his own ulterior motives.... 👀
Chazz - Katie Atty's bf who's along for the ride on the tour, the "princess" of this spy movie, gets kidnapped by the Society both to force the guys to back off and his high societal standing makes him a valuable hostage, potentially a bargaining chip.
Alexis - Mrs. Knight Was invited to come with them on the tour also by Atty, honestly she's just here to keep a low profile and have a good fun time as far as she's concerned. She and Chazz are just hanging out while the guys are getting dragged into their spy caper. Everyone just kinda starts disappearing around her and she's losing her mind aksks
Jesse - Penny Lane Jaden's love interest. In his own spy team with Jim and Axel and formerly Adrian before he went rogue, working to stop Sartorius from taking over the world! Too bad their agency thinks the three of them have also gone rogue to pursue this case...
Crowler - Gustavo The band's manager, a real dad. Loves these kids a lot but he's tough on them, he knows they can be the greatest ever if they work hard enough for it! Is captured by the spy agency and interrogated about the whole endeavor but poor dad has no idea what's going on he hasn't seen his kids all day! What on earth have they gotten themselves into???
Ms. Fontaine - Kelly Crowler's assistant, the only one with a braincell around here. Literally this whole operation would fall apart without her.
Jim and Axel - MI6 agent Simon Lane Undercover and in hiding from their spy agency since they've been designated rogue even though they're not, trying to stop Sartorius from taking over the world but also trying to figure out whatever ulterior plan Adrian has of his own and stop him, got separated from Jesse so they gotta find him and regroup! Very confused by the boy band getting caught up in their mission akskskks also Shirley is here and she is best girl.
Sheppard - Leader of the spy agency, just a silly guy lol
@chazz-is-a-zelda-fan can I interest you in a crackhead stormshipping au on this fine Saturday?

Currently still working on my newest Bob's Burgers comic (because Gene deserves love too! Okay, yes, he had Courtney, but still). Here's everything you need to know about my newest OC, AKA random facts no one asked for but I'm giving anyway:
--First off, he's kind of an amalgamation of several old OCs I made but never ended up using.
--Their full name is Alexis Emiliano Franklin-De La Vega. His super long name comes from the fact he's Guatemalan and his adopted parents have two different last names (he was born in Guatemala but then brought to the US and adopted when he was a baby).
--He's Nonbinary AMAB (Assigned Male At Birth) and uses He/They pronouns. He might change it to They/He once they're older, but I'm not entirely sure yet. They're also Androsexual. However, they always tell people they're Gay, because that label is usually easier for people to understand.
--Loves theater, making outfits (thrifting is so important to them), and all things flamboyant. They even have a small hobby of glassblowing, something they particularly love doing when they're stressed. This is why Gene loves them.
--Their favorite color is yellow (that color remind you of anyone? 👀), and their favorite book of all time is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. They were so obsessed with it when they were young, they wanted to be Charlie so bad and meet Willy Wonka.
--He was born without a right foot and has a prosthetic so he can still walk. He was also born with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, meaning their joints are pretty loose, and they can't move and run around as fast or as much as other kids.
--They're actually an excellent baker, something they don't often bring up, because he's afraid of being judged for this hobby. However, when he does bake, he bakes the best chocolate chip cookies. They've also tried their hand at making Beignets in the past. This causes Bob to immediately take a liking to Alexis. They consider baking an art form.
--They have Perfect Pitch, something Gene is pretty jealous of, but also greatly admires.
--They're a Night Owl, and can't go to sleep any earlier than midnight. It's kind of a problem when he has school the next day, but on the weekends, he can just sleep in.
--Loves drawing and character designing, and so far has only shown his drawings to Gene, who loves his art. Sometimes, on the cover of the night, he likes to sneak out and paint gorgeous murals in certain places.
--Not great at picking up other languages, but has a knack for picking up specific accents. He can imitate things like an Irish or Cockney accent so perfectly it's almost scary. This serves him well in theater.
--In secret, he also loves watching Stand-Up Comedians (like John Mulaney or Ali Wong) and thinks they're great. He also loves watching sitcoms, even if the writing is terrible. He just loves anything that can make him laugh.
--Their adopted parents aren't supportive of the LGBTQ+ community, so once he realizes he has a crush on Gene, he has to keep it a secret from them. Their parents also don't know they're Non-Binary.
--Loves collecting vintage vinyl records, especially of things from the Jazz or Blues Age. They just love studying certain things related to vintage times, such as music, but also the fashion people had in the past.
--Has a crippling fear of heights because of an incident when he was young. He was at a state fair with his parents, and they got on the Ferris Wheel. It got stuck, and they had to stay there for hours until it started working again.
--Is a Vegetarian and has a low spice tolerance.
--Has a dry, sarcastic sense of humor which can put most people off, but Gene loves it. He says Alexis' sense of humor/general demeanor reminds him of Louise.
--Carries a stone in his pocket for good luck, especially before a theater performance, a habit he picked up from his adopted grandmother. He swears it's actually helped him in the past.
--Eventually bonds with Bob not only for their shared hobby of cooking/baking but also for loving rock and roll. Their general love for music and theater allows them to eventually bond with Linda.
--Has a job at Jimmy Pesto's (doesn't let Bob know because they know he would freak out), but hates working there. Also, their working there isn't exactly legal because of how young he is (their parents know Jimmy Pesto, so that's why he got hired in the first place). They only work there to earn some money, which his family definitely needs. They burned their hand working there once, and he doesn't even cook or go into the kitchen that often. It left a permanent scar on his hand.
--Wears black, rectangular glasses and is nearsighted and has an astigmatism.
--Enjoys Science Fiction, ET being one of his favorite movies (mainly because of how amazing the design of the puppet for ET is), but thinks the concept of aliens is pretty unnerving.
Finally, here's a little drawing of them, a sneak peek from a panel of the comic:

Happy STS! 💜💌 What role does symbolism play in your WIPs, if any? What symbols relate to certain characters, events, or emotions? How do you decide what symbols to use, or what these symbols mean? Are they intentional, or do you notice them after they've appeared in the story? :) - @liv-is
Happy STS!!
Sorry to have procrastinated this ask but I wanted the answer to be good because of all the different parts the ask has. I'll split it into parts. The answers are about "Black and White", my beloved main WIP.
This is gonna be Lengthy.
What role does symbolism play in your WIPs, if any? What symbols relate to certain characters, events, or emotions?
Colours are very important in B&W. The whole circus is like a colour wheel with a big black and white tent in the center (each colour zone has a distinct Vibe but that's a post for another day). This mirrors how the story has a lot of pieces, with each side character being represented by a different colour, but they all ultimately revolve around Darius and Diedrich, the two protagonists, represented by black and white respectively.
In truth, Diedrich (white) is the original here, and Darius wants to define himself by contrast, while also being a foil to Diedrich, his kinda-mentor. Diedrich carefully guarded the secret of having sold his soul for his magic, while Darius tells everyone he did the same, despite no one believing him. Diedrich took Darius as an assistant and, in turn, Darius says he'll never take on an assistant in his life. He wears black suits and Diedrich wears white suits. But there's still many similarities between the two: their names start with the same letter, they use similar-sounding intros for their shows, and, when Markov joins Darius later on, he can't help but think of him as "his" Johann (who is Diedrich's best friend and travelled everywhere with him).
The Thing I wanted to get to is that both of their love interests are associatedwith the colour red. August (Darius's (ex)boyfriend), wears red almost every day as part his costume, and Lucille (Diedrich's wife), says her favourite colour is red. Hugo, who is Darius's other ex-boyfriend, also has slight associations with red. This is because all these lovers have one thing in common: they are tossed aside by their significant others in exchange for success. Although it's much more prevalent in Diedrich, on account of him being in the story for 38 years, Darius also does this. Diedrich has abandoned his wife three separate times because he just can't quit being a magician. (One of these times was when their son had just died, something indirectly but kinda directly caused by Diedrich, and he just didn't want to be with his wife bc it was depressing.) In the very first chapter, Darius leaves Hugo to go work under Diedrich, knowing full well this will probably land him in poverty. Then later, he basically says to August "come with me or we're done" (slightly better than straight-up abandoning, I guess, but still messed up), and August says "let's break up then".
How do you decide what symbols to use, or what these symbols mean?
The use of colour came to me very easily. I'm an artist, so I give it a lot of importance. For me, it's always one of the things that better defines a character's design in my mind. I'm a very visual person, so it ends up being the most obvious symbol for me, more than actual images.
I also have a Thing with Veera and Alexis's colours in the dystopia WIP, but I feel like I need to develop that more, but also because this post is already enormous. The dystopia WIP has a lot of colours.
Are they intentional, or do you notice them after they've appeared in the story?
Mostly they're accidents. Like the tent thing? I just realized that while writing this. The red thing has been around for a biiiit longer but it was also accidental.
But when I do notice a nice parallel or symbolism, I double down on it.
There's this parallel I completely accidentaly established between Anna (Diedrich's sister) and Johann's romance and Alphonse (Diedrich's son) and August, and I only noticed because I repeated a sentence in two dialogues (it was along the lines of "I want to love you in the sunlight"). Johann and Anna are obviously straight but their romance is taboo just as much as Alphonse and August's (which is gay) because Johann is married, but the marriage was forced upon him by his parents - kinda like, for queer people, society decides what your love should look like with no regard for what you truly want. Johann and Alphonse have just as much fear of disappointing their families, despite their difference in sexuality, because they've been told their love is unacceptable.
Aaaaaaanyway this was a very fun ask! I love rambling!!
It was also huge tho. I went off the rails.

I just finished reading The Unremembered Empire, and I have a few thoughts:
The plot was really well-crafted. I really had no idea how John Grammaticus was going to be important here and why he was a part of the story (though I did enjoy beforehand as well), but it all makes sense and was well-designed.
Also I think I’m going to have to hunt down the books with John in them because I think he’s great.
The people who claim Guilliman isn’t interesting until after he’s resurrected haven’t read this book.
“Do you know the main difference between Hours and myself?” “What’s that?” “I don’t want to be Emperor.”
No one does terror like Konrad, holy fuck
Whoever suggested this book to Sanguinius fans is a fucking troll. The book was extremely good and I’m glad I read it, but if this were a three act play, he comes in the last 15 minutes of act 3. This is fine, and I know this is setting up for later books, but the recommendations I saw suggested he had more involvement in this book.
I mean, seriously, I feel like a rec for this book to Sanguinius fans should be “something very important happens, but he doesn’t have a lot of screen time in this particular book. Also, to understand later books, this one is very important.”
The above is made a little bit better when one realizes that Sanguinius’ entrance in the book is very much like the gif of Troy walking in with pizza and everything is on fire.
Barabas Dantioch / Alexis Polux ? I definitely ship it
