"A trove of precious jewelry from Cambodia’s past has been repatriated after surfacing in London.
Totaling 77 artifacts from the medieval kingdom of Angkor, they are believed to have been trafficked from the country during the tyranny of the Khmer Rouge and the civil wars that plagued the country during the 20th century.
Angkor was one of the greatest powers in the East between the 9th and 14th centuries. Their theocratic capital of Angkor Wat is considered one of the 7 Wonders of the Medieval World, and today is still the largest religious complex on Earth.
The treasures date squarely to this period of flourishing and some of the crowns are believed to have sat on royal brows. They include items “such as gold and other precious metal pieces from the Pre-Angkorian and Angkorian period including crowns, necklaces, bracelets, belts, earrings, and amulets,” the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts said in a statement.
The items came from the estate of recently-late serial art trafficker Douglas Latchford, who for many years was considered an expert antiquities appraiser, but was later discovered to have worked alongside the Communist Khmer Rouge to traffic hundreds of artifacts from the country.
Now, many of the nation’s historical treasures are returning, and this trove is just the most recent tranche.
Last year, US citizens or institutions returned either voluntarily or by court order, 30 items sold by Latchford, including a 10th-century sculpture of the Hindu god Skanda atop a peacock considered a “masterpiece.”
The year before that, the estate of Latchford, who died in 2020 before he could be convicted of antiquities trafficking, sent back five bronze and sandstone sculptures to Cambodia."

Bonus Info:
"The return of the items followed a September 2020 agreement with Latchford's family under which all Cambodian artifacts in their possession would be returned to Cambodia. Other stone and bronze artifacts were returned in September 2021."

Ta Prohm
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ta Prohm is the modern name for the temple at Angkor. There are 72 major temples in the Angkor area, located in Cambodia in the Siem Reap province. The Ta Prohm Temple was built in the late 12th and early 13th centuries. The temple became a Mahayana Buddhist monastery and university, which was founded by the Khmer King, Jayavarman VII, who dedicated Ta Prohm to his mother. Ta Prohm is a traditional Khmer structure consisting of a series of gradually smaller enclosures, with the center tower connecting the smaller towers through passageways. The site was home to more than 12,500 people in the late 12th century, with a population of 800,000 in the surrounding villages. The temple was modified after King Jayavarman VII’s death and later modified by Hindu and Theravada Buddhist kings in accordance with their religious beliefs. The temple was abandoned after the fall of the Khmer Empire in the 17th century. Restoration to conserve the temples of Angkor began in the early 21st century, but it was decided that Ta Prohm would be left in its ruined state. The jungle surrounding the temple merged with the ruins, giving it a new overall appeal to the tourists who frequent the temple. Although the ruins are bound by massive roots from the fig, silk-cotton, and kapok trees, the area was stabilized to make the temple accessible to tourists, which was necessary since Ta Prohm is Angkor’s most visited temple. Ta Prohm was inscribed by UNESCO and placed on the World Heritage list in 1992. The temple includes 260 statues of gods, 39 towers with pinnacles, and 566 different residences. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider was filmed there.

It took me until now to realize this is "closer" to Angkor's true form.
Are you telling me, this dude can get the most epic handsome design for a Demon Bat God?! If so I want fanarts for the possibilities. Not that 4th jobs are going to happen. If anything
the 4th Job could be an optional thing to do a " Last final step" to finishing the classes story path but granted where Elsword's story is headed we're probably somewhere in the middle because things barely just started happening. It's like a graph in the Elsword story.
It goes up, then it goes down, the tension of the story goes up again in Velder because the Priestess and the El Lady story starts somewhere in the middle ish, but then it dwindles for a moment where the stakes were being weird. Then lowers slightly but at least reasonable to Atlas to Elysion.
The Elrianode story line was great but where it has the line go up, like " Henir's Order is important right here." But lowers it.
the Demon Realm story seems to dwindle on the graph where it wants to be. we go back for a moment in Master Road, only for us to straight back into Demon Realm to fight Berthe, and then " HOLD IT, RANS ARMY IS HAPPENING!" so they go for Tirnog and then to the Abyss story, which they left out a somewhat arc for Chung's Father because they mentioned him he went somewhere so I think they're trying to wiggle in some story arcs for some of the characters and rush it. Ara's whole arc seems to be complete, she has Aren, and Ran is defeated. But Chung his arc is not even done, are we going to end up fighting a Henir Order controlled Helputt?! IDK.
But almost all the goals lined up to " Henir's Order members and the thing that sleeps within the El. But could also probably be another thing. Or the Demon Realms version of the Giant El."
Henir probably isn't even evil it just probably has its own El like it's content with it watching all the chaos that it's not even doing this time, its just a bunch of nutjobs who call themselves the Order of Henir, trying to Kingdom Hearts while not really being the same goal because there's a bunch of Henir Order members.
So how does this all relate to Angkor? Nothing really, because I was just surprised that his human form right now, is "close" to his true form meaning we might get to see him in his true form, maybe like a side thing in the story. maybe a 4th job that everyone can access long as they have Master Class. WHO KNOWS?!
