I'm kinda scared that they're gonna try doing something romantically with Buck and Kameron. I just want Buck to be happy but this is not it.

Hazbin Hotel Prompts
Part I An assortment of prompts taken from the series Hazbin Hotel on Amazon Prime. Adjust as necessary to fit pronoun and/or descriptor. In case of Multimuse, don't forget to specify which one/s. Reblog, please do not repost or add.
“ Oh, shit. Did you hear all of that? ”
“ I enjoy your theatrics. ”
“ I just hope what I'm trying to do here will work. ”
“ Well hello there, you wayward sinner. Do you like blood, violence and depravity of a sexual nature? ”
“ Your last attempt at salvation starts here. ”
“ Thank you so much for making this. Seriously. Amazing. ”
“ Oh, fun. You had a little fun with it? ”
“ Sex sells, don't it? ”
“ I really don't want to exploit you in that way. ”
“ This body was made to be exploited. ”
“ I could keep goin' all night, baby. ”
“ Why do you think I'm here? ”
“ I like being forced. ”
“ I'm choosing to be here, and I think it's all stupid. ”
“ That's kind of the end of the road, ain't it? ”
“ Just because nobody made it out before, doesn't mean it's not possible. ”
“ There's just no way I could blow it, not this once in a lifetime chance. ”
“ It's a happy day in hell. ”
“ Ha! I fucking got you!. ”
“ So, I'm happy we got this opportunity to meet. ”
“ I need you to be less horny, if possible. ”
“ I ain't no actor! I can't memorize this shit! ”
“ So, anyway, we fucked and it was awesome. ”
“ Fucking love putting my name on shit. Shit's the best. ”
“ Alright, um, maybe we can try and fix it in post. ”
“ Seems like you're having a bit of trouble there, hm? ”
“ I wouldn't try that, my dear. ”
“ I don't care who or what you are. If you're staying here, you are going to make this work. ”
“ Awesome job, danger tits. Pound it. ”
“ Those are my people. You know that, right? ”
“ They had their chance and they earned damnation. ”
“ How does that feel? To know how little you matter. ”
“ Let me stop you right there, save us all precious time. ”
“ Did I hear you imply they don't deserve death? ”
“ It means we're all royally fucked. ”
“ We should just go down there now and destroy them. ”
“ Oh please, you had less than half a chance when you started all this. ”
“ Well, it's not like people are going to show up at our doorstep. ”
“ Now that's good television. ”
“ Whatever could be the problem, my dear? ”
“ Fuck my life. ”
“ I have a fire to put out upstairs. ”
“ Well, looks like you have everything under control here. ”
“ Take care of the piss baby. ”
“ That fucking slut walked out on me. ME. I fucking made him! ”
“ Which of these makes me look sexier? ”
“ What are you doing? You're not going over there. ”
“ Now that's why they pay you the big bucks. ”
“ I think he's had enough. ”
“ Thank you... For letting your guard down! ”
“ Can't let my new project fall into disrepair already. ”
“ That fucker is back! ”
“ You still pissed he almost beat you that time? ”
“ Things changed a lot since he left town. ”
“ Welcome home. I'm gonna make you wish that you stayed gone. ”
“ Did anybody miss him? Did anybody notice? ”
“ Where's he been? Who gives a shit? ”
“ You old timey prick, I'll show you suffering. ”
“ I'm gonna make you wish that I'd stayed gone. ”
“ How exactly are we supposed to stop it? ”
“ Who would want to use their last days not fucking and fighting? ”
“ I didn't come looking for a fight. ”
“ Aren't you supposed to protect this place? ”
“ I give you a week. Tops. ”
“ It's nice to have someone interested for once. ”
“ Never leave me again. ”
“ I definitely remember you now. ”
“ It's great, right? Keep going. ”
“ The only cool thing has is to say no to drugs. ”
“ I'm off to not have sexual intercourse before marriage! ”
“ You like me. You really like me! ”
“ You actually think you can change? ”
“ You slippery little shit! ”
“ I fucking knew there was something shitty about you. ”
“ Get your aggressively average body off of me! ”
“ This little bitch is a traitor! ”
“ Wait, you were caught? It hasn't even been a day! ”
“ The path to forgiveness is a twisting trail of hearts, but sorry is where it starts. ”
“ Why are you so lame? ”
“ You'll have to try better than that next time, ol' pal. ”

Hi! I saw that you were asking for Tommy/Buck prompts! What do you think about: "You're allowed to be happy, y'know."? With Tommy continuing to be just as gentle with Buck as he was with that kiss! I'm still not over it 🩷
Tommy kisses Buck on a Thursday and takes him on their first date the following Saturday. They go on two more official dates before Tommy reminds him his sister's getting married in a few weeks. They're five dates into their... well, whatever they are, when Buck watches Tommy dance with his newly married sister.
There's something so gentle about the way Tommy holds Maddie's manicured fingers delicately in his own. He has what can only be described as a gentlemanly hand on her waist and he's almost letting her take the lead like he's making sure he doesn't scare her away.
Maddie doesn't get scared anymore, not like she used to, but the fact that Tommy can put that amount of care into someone just in case makes Buck's eyes water. Even though he tries not to show too much emotion in public, he doesn't put any effort into holding the tears back. His sister just got married! He's allowed to feel.
"Buck!" Chimney shouts. He's running toward Maddie and Tommy with a faux scowl that couldn't reach his eyes even if he tried. "Get your man before he woos her with his fancy helicopter license."
"Pilot's license," Buck says as he stands, wiping subtly at his eyes. A smile tugs at the corner of Tommy's lips because he knows that's his influence. Buck had called it a helicopter license approximately five times before Tommy finally taught him how it all worked.
“There’s only one firefighter for me, Howie,” Maddie says dreamily. Buck can’t remember a time he’d ever heard her so wistful, not since she was a kid reading him fairytales when they were both supposed to be sleeping.
“And there’s only one Buckley for me,” Tommy adds, winking at Maddie dramatically before placing her hand in Chimney’s, “but I always have a plan b. Isn’t that what you taught me, Han?” Chimney swats at him half-heartedly, his attention already back on his bride.
Buck watches them for a few moments, reveling in the sheer joy that illuminates between them like no storm cloud in the world could cover the sunshine they feel. He's struck by a stray bolt of lightning--pun only partially intended--when he thinks about what she's gotten through to be here, but it settles into calmness when Tommy clears his throat from beside him.
Buck snaps from his thoughts and realizes he's been ignoring Tommy's outstretched hand. He clasps their hands together, fully intending to drag them back to their table, when Tommy clicks his tongue and pulls him close.
Then they're dancing underneath a backyard tent surrounded by their friends and family, and Buck thinks that he's never been as happy as he is right then.
There's guilt in the feeling, as there almost always is. There are people in need of saving, people who are hurt or scared or lonely, and here is Evan Buckley--happy. He can’t begin to comprehend why or even if he deserves that. He's made mistakes, he's lied to himself his entire life without intention, he never protected his sister or his team well enough, and now he's with a man who he really likes but isn't sure exactly what it means.
He doesn't deserve--
"You're allowed to be happy, y'know."
Tommy says the words like he's reading Buck's mind.
"I am happy," Buck says instinctively. Tommy chuckles and nods.
"You are," he agrees, "but you need to stop feeling so much shame about it."
His large palm presses against the small of Buck's back, leading him into a slow sway. He dips his head the few centimeters between them and rests their foreheads together like he's trying to keep Buck's attention. Like Buck's attention could be anywhere else when he's being held like this, with such tenderness that he feels weak in his knees.
"You're going to find happiness that you don't need to feel guilty for one day, Evan."
It feels like a promise, and Buck only hopes that Tommy's the one to keep it.

Early on in the war Bucky gets sent up on a mission without Buck. His first without Buck now that Buck had joined him at Thorpe Abbotts.
It feels wrong watching Bucky take off without him, similar to those weeks when Bucky had been off in England before him. Except this is worse because before Gale hadn't fully understood the risk. He'd known it wasn't safe, had told Bucky not to die on him, but now... now he knows the true risk they take every time they go up. He knows that just because Bucky's a great pilot doesn't mean Bucky's coming back to him.
Gale spends the hours waiting for Bucky's return on tenterhooks. He can't sit still, a nervous energy grabbing hold of him. One of the boys joke that he's acting just like Bucky with all that out of character energy, and Gale has to force himself to sit down. To look normal. If someone started asking questions, wondering why he was acting like this, too much concern for a friend, even a best friend, Gale knew they'd be in trouble.
They're late, that's all Gale can think as he waits staring up at the sky. Over an hour late. Everyone grows restless behind him, murmuring assurances to one and other, but Gale doesn't join them. He stands and stares up at the cloudy sky waiting.
"I see them!" Someone cries out from the tower above him. Gale turns sharply and catches sight of a man with binoculars staring up at the sky. His fingers itch to rip those binoculars out of his hands. He needs to see Bucky, needs to see that he made it. The man starts counting off planes, and Gale turns back to the skies. He clenches his fist until his nails cut into his palms, and he stands and waits.
Come on, John, he pleads to himself. It's gonna be the two of us, remember?
The planes touch down, and Gale doesn't see Bucky's. He turns back to the sky as if he'd miscounted, and there'd be one more plane coming in. But there's nothing up there save the clouds, and Gale goes cold. He can't breathe. Everyone rushes past him, all eager to get to the boys, and Gale can't find his boy.
"Where's Major Egan?" He hears someone ask, and he latches onto that question, wanting to scream it out. Where's Bucky? He has to be here. He promised. Just the two of them.
"After interogation," Kidd tells them all but looking directly at Gale. Gale clenches his jaw and nods despite every bit of his being protesting having to wait.
Gale waits and watches, grief and rage boiling up under his skin. He forces himself to look calm. He can't pop off, not here in front of others. He follows after Jack, not saying a word even when Jack sends him a few charged glances.
Gale sees Curt as soon as he walks into the building. He looks exhausted, and the moment he sees Gale stalking into the room, his face falls. Gale's heart clenches, and the urge to scream grows. He clenches his jaw tighter and follows Jack further into the building.
"Everything was fine on the way there," Curt turns to Jack. "Only turned to shit on the way back."
Gale listens to every word, commits them to memory. It's what he deserves. He sent Bucky up there alone, he deserves the pain of remembering every word describing how he lost Bucky.
"They targeted Bucky's fort." Curt glares down at the ground. "Shot out one of the engines and didn't let up until he was falling behind."
"Did the navigator note down when Major Egan went down?" Curt clenches his jaw at the question before turning to look up at Gale, regret and shame clear in his eyes.
"Bucky- Major Egan ordered us to leave him behind." Curt said it like an apology, and Gale's eyes stung. "He was losing altitude and didn't want us to act as his shield. We tried to stay close, but he purposefully fell out of formation to take the brunt of the fire. After a while, he fell so far behind that I don't think anyone caught where he went down."
Gale feels his knees go weak, and he leans against the window, his entire bodyweight slumped against the pane of glass. He wants to laugh. Of course Bucky ordered them ahead. Of course that stupid idiotic lovable fool put himself last. God, Gale wanted to kill him.
"Maybe, maybe over France, just before the Channel," Curt's navigator piped up. He was staring down at his logbook like it would miraculously state where Bucky was. "That's the last time I saw him, but the cloud cover blocked our view."
Curt opened his mouth to say more, but sirens started, interrupting whatever he was about to say.
"We've got incoming!" Gale hears Lemmons scream. "Hey! We've got incoming!"
Gale's moving before anyone can react, out of the building before they even get up from their seats. He sprints towards where he can hear Lemmon's screaming. His heart starts to beat out of his chest as he looks up at the sky and begs for it to be Bucky.
Please, he begs, I'll do anything. Please come back to me.
"It's Bucky!" He hears Lemmons shout, euphoric in his relief, but Gale doesn't stop running until he's at the tower. He won't believe it until he sees it.
The plane sends up flares signaling wounded on board, and Gale keeps watching. He can see where the Germans hit the engines, but what nearly sends him to his knees is how shot up the cockpit is. Even from here, he can see its more metal fragments than anything else.
"C'mon," Gale feels Benny grabbing him and shoving him into a jeep. Everything feels disjointed as if Gale's a second behind his body. "Let's get you to your boy."
Gale doesn't look anywhere but at the plane while Benny drives. The engine Curt mentioned is still on fire, and it's listing as if the pilot is fighting tooth and nail just to keep them airborne.
The touchdown is loud, metal screeching as if protesting its treatment. The ground crews sprint into action, and the ambulances race by, screaming past the jeep.
If Gale were in his right mind, he'd see the concerned glances Benny kept sending towards him. He'd see the fear at the sight of Gale Cleven losing his mind from grief. But Gale can only focus on Bucky and the broken plane holding him hostage.
"Wounded on board!" Gale hears as Benny finally gets them there. It's not Bucky's voice shouting. The windows of the cockpit are shattered, and Gale doesn't allow himself to focus on that.
Gale stumbles out of the jeep and towards the plane before it even comes to a complete stop. Benny shouts at him, but he can't hear what he says. He doesn't pay any attention to the other men just sprints towards the plane as they finally wrench open the doors.
Gale watches as wounded men get shoved out into the hands of the medics, but none of them are Bucky.
"Buck, God damn it!" Benny finally catches up to him. "I know you're worried, but you can't just jump out while I'm driving!"
More men climb out of the plane, but Gale can't see them because Benny steps in front of him still yelling at him about safety and being an idiot.
"Croz, I swear I'm fine! You need to get that arm looked at!"
Gale feels something akin to fire spreading over his skin, replacing the bone deep chill that had settled in.
"Major, please!" Harry Crosby climbs out, head turned to stare back inside. There's blood running down his jacket sleeve. "You need to get looked at first!"
And finally, Gale's heart can once more beat in rhythm. Another figure starts exiting the plane. Long legs melting into a familiar awful jacket until Gale finally catches sight of those chestnut curls he adores.
"Just a scratch Croz!" Bucky's grinning as he speaks to Harry. Gale's eye race over him, desperate to make sure that it's really Bucky in front of him.
He skids to a stop at the sight of blood. Benny runs into him cursing at him, but Gale doesn't care.
Bucky's limping as he helps medics carry out the rest of his crew. Blood runs down his left leg, and he just keeps walking.
"Sir!" Bucky turns to speak to a medic, and Gale sees blood running down his face. His stomach rolls as he watches blood stream down from a cut just above Bucky's eyebrow. He hadn't seen it. Bucky had been turned away.
Bucky glances over the medic's shoulder and sees Gale. His face splits into a grin.
"Hey boys! Miss me?" Bucky laughs even as the medic tries to strong arm him into an ambulance.
Gale clenches his fists and stalks up to Bucky. Bucky's grin falters, seeing something on Gale's face that he doesn't like.
"Buck? What's wrong?" Bucky asks just before Gale steamrolls over the medic and Crosby.
What's wrong he asks? What's wrong?!
Gale grabs Bucky, his Bucky that he thought he'd lost, and pulls him into a hug.
"Never tell the boys to leave you behind." Gale growls in his ear. He feels tears pricking at his eyes, and he buries his face in Bucky's stupid jacket. Bucky pats him on the back, all mirth gone from his face.
"Alright Buck," Bucky sighs into his ear. Gale pulls himself away and frogmarches him towards the ambulance. Harry, Benny, and the medic all trail behind them without a word.
"Hey," Bucky starts, and Gale can hear the joke he's gonna make just from his tone. "Think the boys'll all be jealous of me now? Quite the dramatic entrance I'll say! Landing a dead bird without any help!"
Gale turns and stares at Bucky. Bucky grins and laughs at the look on his face, pleased as can be that'd he'd managed to put it there.
"Check him for a brain," He hears Benny tell the medic. Bucky laughs uproariously at that. "I think he might have lost his."
Gale gets on the ambulance and just watches Bucky as the medics work. He stares at him even when Bucky catches him doing so.
Bucky smiles at him, a soft smile that Gale knows is just for him.
"Told ya, didn't I? It'll be me, and it'll be you, Buck. Don't go counting me out just yet!"
The two of us, Gale promises himself. It will always be the two of us in the air.

Why not? (Peter B Parker x reader) pt. 3
Tumblr media
God he is such a hunk.
This one took a long time, but there are nods to my Peter B headcannons in this!
Warnings: near death, an epiphany, and a kiss
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4
He can't exactly pinpoint the moment he started, but he knows exactly when he realized what these feelings were. And when he had felt the same attraction from you towards him. Only, it wasn't him. A fact that he had put into his head to remind himself of a thousand times probably, and a fact that pained him more than that of MJ's. He finds himself looking back on it, sometimes sadly, more often than not fondly though.
Especially now, as he finds himself in a strange place, staring at an image of himself in a televised obituary.
It makes him wonder what would have happened if he hadn't have been scared to just buck up and face his feelings like an adult. Someone you deserve. He can't wallow in self pity right now though, where the hell is he? All he knows is that he needs to figure out what just happened, and fast. He'll have to lie low for a bit, obviously, given that this does not feel like home, and according to what seems to be a different universe or some alternate timeline, he was dead. Damn, if only he'd payed more attention to Harry whenever he would talk about his work.
Oh yeah. Harry. The one who had gotten him into this mess in the first place.
He doesn't know why he even decided to take that story on to begin with. Maybe it was the way that glint, that adorable glint of yours that had brightened up at the mention of how his ex roommate was working for Oscorp. Maybe it was the enticing promise of an easy and early end to your guys' shared night, with really tempting movie night plans. Well, any night was tempting if it was with you. Hell, you were his best friend! Why wouldn't he be excited to just hangout with you? To just do anything if it was in your presence? He couldn't help but feel that pride swell in his chest whenever fellow reporters referred to you two as the dynamic duo, who always somehow get to the bottom of any story.
Either or, his judgement was severely clouded due to the Osborne. Norman, Harry's father, had been a very docile man in comparison to his son, a man who just wanted to support his son and his work. However due to that devotion he had been killed in a horrible accident in the Oscorp main lab. Something Peter had tried so hard to prevent, but just happened to fall short in saving Harry's only peace. His grief had turned him cruel, a fast Nemesis of Spiderman. The Green Goblin, as he's known throughout New York. Although Peter hadn't known Harry, his childhood friend, had been the creature in green. Nor Harry with Peter.
It was when he and you had made the trip to visit Harry that Peter had to make a horrible discovery, as well as one of the best discoveries in his life.
Due to his close connection with Harry, they were able to get access to Oscorp facilities "easy peasy!" Peter boasted to you, that shit eating grin of his flashing his features again, making you giggle and roll your eyes fondly at his antics. "It's actually more complex than that, Pete." You hear from behind you, the voice scaring you out of your wits.
"AH- o-oh, uh, Mr Osborne! A pleasure to meet you-" he cuts you off, taking your hand that you had out stretched, bringing your knuckles to his lips to breathe a kiss to your skin. "Please, call me Harry. Mr Osborne was my father. And the pleasure is mine." He speaks with an air of confidence. He seems well put together, handsome. It made you… uncomfortable.
Peter picks up on it immediately, swooping in quickly to help you, while also humbling his old friend. "Woah, Hare, who knew you figured out how to talk to women! I'm proud of you man, those YouTube videos I keep emailing you are finally starting to pay off man!" He claps a hand on Harry's shoulder, effectively taking his attention off of you.
Harry just rolls his eyes. "And how've you been then, Pete? It's been, what, 17 months now? And yet you're still single?? Yikes." He digs at Peter. All he does is laugh, bringing him in for a bear hug, which Harry reciprocates willingly. It had been over a year since he and MJ split up at that point, and he'd say it's safe to say he'd moved on at that point, and can now look at those times as a fond memory. He wasn't really looking for another relationship at that point either. Hell, his best and most stable relationship he had was with you! Why go and add something else to that? You were more than perfect for him. And he was happy with how things were.
You both went up to Harry's office, and enjoyed their playful banter, writing down any juicy stories, wether it be about the company or about Peter. You loved seeing Pete in his element, finally relaxing around someone other than you. His smile was infectious. Although, Harry seemed to be more annoyed, constantly looking at his watch. It was as if he had somewhere to be. Neither of you thought much of it, at the time. He was an important man.
Once it was all over, you and Peter were just walking down by yourselves, you teasing him about his childhood more. Both of you just enjoying yourselves. You both had set foot outside when suddenly it had happened. The top of the building had exploded.
You were in complete shock. All you could do was look up in awe and terror, you hadn't even noticed Peter dashing off. He was gone so quickly, he knew something was off, his Spidey senses going haywire the second you walked out of Harry's office. It's why Peter had rushed you two by suggesting a movie rather than a tour of the facility.
He was suited up quicker than ever, swinging in to help any civilians inside, his main goal being to find Harry. He made it closer to the top, calling out Harry's name as he was putting out different flames. He was mid-air in swing when he was suddenly knocked to the ground, the air in his lungs being knocked from hitting the wall to the side.
"Well well, spiderman, it looks like my hypothesis was correct. You were here the entire time!" He grabs Spiderman, pinning him to the wall. "I could smell you." "Huh, and I thought this new shampoo was working better for me." Spidy chokes out. As he's about to shoot a web into the goblins eyes, it seems someone beat him to it, as a brick hits the goblin in the back of his head, causing him to drop the Hero.
"It's not nice to throw people, dickhead!" At the sound of your voice, his heart stops. Why were you here!? You should be safe on the ground! Before you knew it, the Villain was back on his feet, and snatching you up, jumping through a window and landing of to his air board, Spiderman shooting a web out to attach to the aircraft, tailing behind.
The sounds of your screams were ringing in his ears, as well as the sound of his heart racing. He couldn't panic thought he had to save you. You all had landed on the roof, where Goblin had dropped you off to the side. Spiderman was already on him though, and you watch in awe as they fight, grabbing your camera. After all, that's why you'd ran back up there. Where danger was, Spiderman was soon to follow.
Before you know it, the hero had a leg up on the monster, webbing him down to the ground. It seems a victory was soon! Until one of the Green Goblins bombs were tossed your way. Everything happened in a blur, Spiderman dashing to push you out of the way, the bomb going off and knocking you over the edge.
Peter's heart stopped. One moment you were there, then you were plummeting to your death. He was after you quicker than ever. The sight of your body falling engraving itself into his memory and into the fear in his heart.
You had felt everything in slow motion, absolute fear over taking your senses. You closed your eyes, accepting your fate. Until you feel your head on a hard chest, your body being encompassed in a bear hug, and you hold on to him for dear life, bringing your arms and legs to wrap completely around him. He swung you two over to a nearby rooftop, landing safely.
Your heart was racing a millions miles, and you felt his on your chest. It was so loud, so… comforting. His arms were wrapped around your waist. You felt safe. Until he sets you down and starts yelling at you.
"ARE YOU INSANE!??? WHY THE HELL WERE YOU UP THERE WHY DIDN'T YOU STAY ON THE GROUND WHERE I LEFT YOU!?? DO YOU KNOW YOU COULD'VE DIED TODAY!?" He was talking a lot, holding your face in his hands and inspecting you, they felt so warm. You feel your legs give out, and you fall into his chest, your eyes stinging with tears. He went silent, instead holding you, his fingers carding through your hair.
He smelled so familiar. You looked into his eyes, tears streaming down his face, and his heart stopped. You looked so beautiful. You were alive, and here, and so goddamned beautiful. He couldn't help himself. Before you knew it, you felt a warm pair of lips on your own. Your heart was racing, and they were so soft. And warm. You can't help but melt into him even more. He pulls away, a smack separating your lips. He pulls down his mask almost too quickly, and holds your face in his, commiting the lovesick look in your eyes to memory. And then you were panicking.
"PETER!!" You startle him out of his daze with your panic, scrambling out of his arms and frantically searching for your phone. In all of this action you had completely forgotten about him!!! He watches you as you run around, his heart swelling in his chest at how worried you were for him. Oh no. He's in love with you.

We All Fall Down by kristen999 (@thekristen999)
He’d done this before. Inside the well. Trapped forty feet underground instead of in a tin can, rising water the constant threat.
Eddie stared at the radio, knowing this time there’d be someone on the other end to hear him if he needed to say something. If his time his second chances had finally run out.
He wouldn’t die alone. Not really. His team would be there. Just inches away. He could tell them, tell Buck….

“It’s just…” Connor shrugged. “No offense, man, but… you’re twenty-five. Do you really want to be spending so much time falling for a guy with a kid?”
“I’m not falling for him.”

Buck scrubs a hand down his face. He’s got no idea what he’s supposed to do here.
He knows what his parents are like. He has his own childhood to draw from, and Isaac doesn't deserve that. He deserves to grow up surrounded by love, and if nothing else, Buck can give him that.
But Buck is also a twenty-six year old probationary firefighter, living in his girlfriend’s apartment while she travels the world. He’s not exactly in a position to look after a kid.

Tighten Up by ok_thanks
It’s probably considered getting off on the wrong foot when you have sex with your coworker before they start their new job, right?
Buck would think it’s probably not a good thing, and definitely something that shouldn’t be repeated. Especially when he becomes best friends with them. That’d be particularly stupid.

Close My Eyes and Stumble (Right Into Your Love) by HMSLusitania (@hmslusitania)
Eddie's PTSD is just that little bit worse and when he moves to Los Angeles, instead of joining the LAFD, he joins dispatch.
Which is all good and fine, except for this one firefighter he keeps ending up talking to.

Evan saves Daniel when he's a baby; he still manages to find his way to the 118, forging a family there despite being given up by his biological parents.

I Didn't Know I Was Lonely 'Til I Saw Your Face by HMSLusitania (@hmslusitania)
After the ladder truck and the blood clot and the tsunami, Bobby makes Buck go to therapy before he does something stupid(like sue the city). Buck's not totally comfortable being alone with a therapist, but fortunately he makes a friend and ally who's willing to help him out - Eddie Diaz from the 136 who's just been caught in an illegal fight club.
OR
Total strangers Buck and Eddie go to couple's therapy together to get out of the therapy requirements their captains have placed on them.

i want your midnights by allyasavedtheday (@littlespoonevan)
Eddie grins. “Yeah I get that. So can I ask why you applied for the room? No offence but you’re not exactly the kind of candidate I expected.”
Buck laughs, ducking his head. That’s probably true.
“I, uh, I’ve been staying at my girlfriend’s place while she’s travelling but um, my sister moved to LA recently and sort of made the point that I could be overstaying my welcome? Or, well- actually she tried to tell me my girlfriend’s cheating on me and I need to get over it and move out of her place.” Buck shakes his head, eyes widening at what he just implied. “She’s not! Cheating, I mean. She’s just- trying to find herself after losing her mom. She just needs a little space, y’know?”
At least, that’s the excuse Buck’s giving Abby for why she hasn’t called him in over two weeks.
Eddie nods with a vague sort of expression on his face like he hadn’t expected him to overshare that much. Which, oops.
In which Eddie decides to rent out his spare room to help with mortgage repayments right around the time Buck decides to move out of Abby's place after some not so gentle prodding from Maddie. It's a coincidence. Or serendipity. Or maybe just really good timing.
*and of course we can't forget:
Those Two Firefighters by DarkFairytale
#thosetwofirefighters starts to gather a following on social media, as everyone tries to figure out if those two cute firefighters from the 118 in LA are a thing or not.

alright i finally managed to get a copy of the ep and i'm watching it on my smallass iphone screen which isn't ideal but i can't wait 3 days to get access to a bigger screen so here we go:
i need to know if that rainbow flare on buck was intentional
i might be looking too hard but that hand grabbing buck's throat and then eddie's junk could be foreshadowing for you know what, i mean who's to say?
oliver deserves a fucking oscar for his nervous smitten buck performance
tommy shaved for their date which is so old school i love it but i also miss the scruff and need to see its return asap
hints of Tommy Backstory, my beloved
the convo about renting out a home with marisol and eddie but including buck is making me think of how buck is possibly being 'rented out' to tommy in the narrative for now but later eddie will be the one to buy
i understand tommy ending their date early but WHAT HAPPENED to him picking up buck from his loft?? and don't tell me he ubered for a first date when we know he drives. although i get not wanting to drink and drive ig
also: tommy was meant to pick up buck at 8pm and now they've finished dinner so wtf is eddie and marisol doing starting their dinner at like 930pm is that an LA thing bc that's insane
'oldest italian restaurant' sign just makes me think of tommy and buck's age gap and i giggle and gasp
buck's reaction to being rejected is breaking my hearrrrt. tommy opened him up to his sexuality and buck was So Excited and now this guy is just dumping him?? who is he supposed to bounce his restless bisexual energy off now??
we're not even 10mins in so i have no idea what the bulk of this ep is gonna be about
oH YEAH THE GAY MOMS pls let them be happy
BUCK COMES OUT TO MADDIE ACCIDENTALLY like a true bisexual disaster
The Guy Thing is very much The Point buck, you sweet thick cinnamom scroll
buck is doubly an ally. he's a bially.
keep talking buck i am cackling you adorable baby bi
insane thing to have eddie post-sex with his nun gf after buck was gushing about tommy
it's okay buck, false starts with difficult convos happen, you'll get there
something something buck intending to come out to eddie and eddie explaining his sex problems all while eddie gets sweaty and swole
LIKE SEAMONKEYS! buck i adore you
buck wishes he could lend eddie a hand but he can't bc he's no homewrecker and bc eddie is quote unquote straight. not bc he himself is taken, bc the hot pilot dumped him and oh now i'm sad again :(
there's some buck+guilt [re:self worth] meta glanced over here that makes me wanna delve into some introspective reads
buck giving good advice is something that can be so personal
hen saving a rescue dog after it attacked the firefighter trying to save it as a parallel to their current foster child situation. it's just good storytelling. the dark stuff is getting hopeful
HANG OUT WITH THE BOYS eddie you don't know how perfect your words are
i really love the way they chose for buck to come out to eddie. trying to do it at a certain time didn't work for him, it was too daunting. but as soon as eddie mistook buck's date with tommy for something platonic? buck doesn't want to hide anymore. it really speaks to the human and especially the queer experience - that need to correct someone's misinterpretation (someone important to buck) of who you are.
GAY TOMMY CONFIRMED
supportive eddie and 'this doesn't change a thing between us'
buck finally getting to talk to his friend about getting dumped by a guy he was really hoping for more with
eddie's turn to give good advice to buck re:his dating life and we come full circle
buck's relief at eddie knowing and accepting him. the double-back for the hug. the comfort is all there.
i want to shower the wardrobe department in love for putting buck in that slutty blue 70s polo for his date within tommy and then the sky blue sweater and now this tight stripey number i am digging the vibes
buck hearing that he didn't screw things up with tommy, tommy just didn't want to pressure him bc the feels are mutual! and buck taking responsibility for his behaviour bc he's mature like that he's a good dude
i love lou but oliver literally glows - and i don't mean from the sunshine - he lights up every scene
the way buck gushed about tommy's confidence to maddie and now he's the confident one reassuring tommy that he wants this and that it won't be weird for tommy i am so proud of him
HOUSTON WE HAVE HAND HOLDING
sad my buddy chim was barely in this ep :(
WEDDING TEASER and we've got a Hangover situation and a missing groom omg
the writers are working their magic and we are reaping the rewards.

so, um.
i've been thinking about "pilgrimage" for a while now. and about how we still haven't reached much of a consensus on what we're expecting from that episode.
pilgrimage. definition: a journey, especially a long and difficult one, made to some sacred or important place, typically as an act of devotion, or in search of deeper meaning, healing, or understanding.
the way this show works, i'm expecting to see all the characters on their own personal pilgrimages. some of them are easier to imagine than others.
maddie and chim taking jee-yun on her first beach trip, maybe. maddie, reconciling and processing both her harrowing, terrifying time in the ocean and her fear of jee near water. chimney, there to support her. both of them anchoring and grounding themselves in each other's presence, in the security of their family, and in the comfort that comes from teaching jee-yun to swim. watching her safely doggy paddle and splash and play in the shallow water, a lifejacket on her shoulders and a smile on her face, with the knowledge that she's safe and happy with both of her parents.
hen, finishing med school. becoming a doctor, finally, after her long journey of stress and studying and sleepless nights. she worked so, so hard to get here, and it was worth it. she doesn't necessarily have to leave her job and her home at the 118- she could be captain there someday, after all! but she's armed with so much more knowledge now, knowledge and training that will help her save even more lives, whether that's in a hospital or out in the field. and that medical license? it will help her advocate for every patient she treats, especially the ones overlooked by the medical system- her mom comes to mind. it forces everyone to take her seriously, to give her the respect she deserves, from the moment she introduces herself to them. and above all else, she will have proven to herself that she can do it. that she can chase each and every one of her dreams, at her pace and on her terms. just like she quit her pharma job, just like she became a firefighter despite eva's lack of support- only now, she has the support and encouragement from all her family and friends.
bobby, taking a trip to minnesota. maybe athena's with him, maybe may and harry. or maybe not. the fire at dispatch brought back a lot of old pain for him, even as saving may helped heal some of his oldest wounds. a karmic balancing of the scales, in a way- we know bobby tends to see things that way. but may isn't brooke. bobby buried a wife, a son, a daughter. and visiting their resting place to pay his respects, to tell them about his sobriety, about his new family, about how he creates families everywhere he goes now, about how much he misses them every day but despite it all he hasn't stopped living- that's a pilgrimage. and one i think he sorely needs to take, in order to heal.
for a while, i thought buck might take a trip back to hershey in this episode. but now i'm not so sure. eddie's already been back to el paso, and aside from that, i wasn't sure what a pilgrimage might look like, for him.
but then it hit me.
buck and eddie, going back to the site of the shooting. together. talking about it, processing it- as frank put it, "maybe you should talk about your pain with someone who shares it. think about your trauma. and then talk to someone who can understand exactly what you've been through."
that would be a pilgrimage, wouldn't it?
there's this scene in survivors, that i don't think we talk about enough- understandably, considering everything else going on in that episode. it's a quiet, blink-and-you'll-miss-it little moment between bobby and athena, that takes place only a handful of scenes after buck hauls eddie into the fire engine and desperately tries to keep him from bleeding out. and it goes like this:
athena: you know, after i was attacked, we never really talked about it.
bobby: well, i always got the sense you didn't want to.
athena: no, i mean... we never talked about what it was like for you.
bobby: there's that thing people say... 'i don't know what i'd do without you'. because losing someone you love is such an alien concept. you don't want to imagine what it's like. and i was sitting in that engine thinking i was listening to you dying. and i didn't need to imagine anything. i knew what my life would feel like without you in it. and it scared me.
👀
so, yeah. pilgrimage. i'm a firm believer in buck and eddie having their first kiss in the kitchen- i'm ready to tell you that i'm in love with you, so i'm telling you now, because i need you to know how loved you are, but i also know you need more time, and i will wait right here until you're ready for me too.
but when it comes time for a mutual display of commitment, that we're really doing this, i'm all in if you're all in, for better or for worse moment? i can't think of a better spot than the intersection where everything changed. episode one gave us a call where a man was shot by what looked to be a (large caliber) bullet, but was revealed to be a symbol of gay love and commitment- life saving for one man yet simultaneously life threatening for another. the thing that hurts is sometimes the thing that heals.
remember the funny little thing eddie said to buck in survivors, right before it all went south?
should have gotten here sooner.
pilgrimage: that street corner, no blood in sight. foreheads pressed together, leaning close, shaky hands on each other's faces, teary eyes. a kiss, maybe, or maybe not- the meaning's still the same.
buck, to eddie: nah. we're right on time.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah. Yep. Mmmhmm. Something about how Buck is increasingly desperate to find the secret to happiness.
Tumblr media
How Hen "always has the answers" but she told him he needed to figure it out on his own. How Buck is — likely subconsciously — clinging to the fact that she didn't try to stop him, so he must be on the right track. (Not her responsibility, btw. She's trying to be a supportive friend.)
How that "infinitely beautiful and reachable thing" he's so desperate to find is inside of Buck. Buck himself is infinitely beautiful and worthy of love and happiness. He has been all along.
But he misunderstood the assignment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's so deeply ingrained in Buck that he does not exist for his own sake. His body was created — literally conceived — to save someone else. And he failed. (How deeply fucked up is it that his mother's one and only attempt at care and compassion for her son just doubles down on his trauma? That she and his father caused him? "You were born to save someone." Fuck.)
And the more he tries to find happiness, Buck "The Fixer" just keeps trying to save other people. The one and only thing he knows he's good at.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he keeps saving people. He failed Daniel, but now he does save people. So many people. Strangers, his beloveds (especially Eddie and Chris), over and over again. But why does he still feel so empty and despairing?
He may not write them down, but Buck's got his own ledger of people saved, just like Bobby. If he saves enough people, maybe he can finally be at peace with himself. Except Buck doesn't even have a goal he's trying to reach. It — and he — by definition will never be enough.
Anyway. Evan Buckley misunderstood the assignment and is still stuck in this moment:
Tumblr media
He will not find happiness until he 1) reckons with this right here and talks to his parents about himself, 2) realizes he deserves happiness, for his own sake, not as a reward for saving people enough / saving enough people, and 3) that the happiness he seeks is already right there, inside and all around him.
(This was a lot but I caught feelings from your tags.)
this ask is great and more coherent than most of my thoughts, my friend. thank you.
every time i think about hen and buck’s relationship, about him seeking her input, i always go back to the post-lawsuit days, when the rest of the team was still kind of giving buck the (rightful) cold shoulder and hen was the first to properly welcome him back. that “thank you, hen. for not feeling like you need to follow bobby’s lead” and hen’s “i march to the beat of my own drum, buck. always have. you should too.” because that’s exactly what she kept repeating him all those other times, and buck keeps coming back to her to hear it once more, twice more - to have someone tell him that his life is his to live, no matter how it started. no matter how it’ll end.
eddie announces he’s leaving the 118 and buck looks at hen, who’s losing eddie too; buck kisses lucy and tells hen, who gives him advice based on her past mistakes; “hen, you always have the answers” and she’s just failed a test by giving the wrong answers. buck not only thinks someone else can show him the way out of the woods, but he chooses someone who’s just as lost. he was told once that “you make it, son” and “there’s never enough time” and he convinced himself there are universal answers to universal questions, somehow. so he asks the smartest person he knows - who’s lost, still - and listens as she tells him he has the power here, he has agency, they both do. but hen’s way out is not buck’s, and it’s so significant in the frame of his storyline that she’s finally picked her happiness and how to get it without sacrificing herself more precisely when buck’s path is turning on itself over and over again.
the point is that he was conceived in pain and in pain he was every time he managed to be seen. there reside both his question and his answer. sacrifice is his act of rebellion - ‘buck begins’ and how he just doesn’t. listen. and “just breathe”//“how will you breathe?”//“i’m gonna hold it. for as long as i can.” - but it’s also his act of submission to those who have left him alone - “i’m really sorry about your dead son, but can we talk about me for a minute?” -. he can’t ask of his parents to put aside some of their pain for him, that’d be asking them to sacrifice something and they’ve suffered enough. everyone has suffered enough. maybe he hasn’t? maybe the next time he gets crushed or almost drowns, yeah, maybe that will be enough and he’ll be free.
the healthiest mindset he’s shown up until now is his desperate “love me anyway” because unconditional love is what he inherently deserves, just like everyone does, but at the same time there’s nothing worse than that ‘anyway’. anyway? despite what? what should his parents’ love forgive him for? there’s no fault - no original sin - to get over here, and he doesn’t know. he doesn’t know he can get to the core of his being and find the beauty and the happiness he spies in others, he doesn’t know he’s whole and not the sum of parts, he doesn’t know he can stop clinging to whatever he meets on his path if he’s stable and solid as marble himself.
“i hide my true feelings from others myself.”
(copy-pasting this fever-induced set i made for morgan once upon a time because i feel like it sums everything up quite well).

9-1-1 Rewatch
Season 3, Episode 18: What's next?
I remember the first time I watched this being very surprised to see Abby again. I guess I just thought her storyline would be forever unresolved, but I was wrong.
Chris and summer camp. If there was any doubt Buck is Chris' other dad, this conversation should eliminate them - poor guy's just as worried as Eddie.
Love the support for Hen - she is amazing.
Poor Athena, coming home to that fireplace. Even though I loved the Bobby/Michael bonding moment earlier, that must have been quite the shock for her.
Of course Athena doesn't see herself as a victim, was anyone surprised by this?
I appreciate the the entire crew of the 118 looks overwhelmed and shocked when they get to the accident scene.
I pains me when Abby gets upset and just screams out she's looking for her fiance and you can just see Buck take it let a punch to the gut. His poor brain just goes offline for a moment. But of course he just switches right into self sacrifice mode - of course I shall risk my life and go get your fiance, of course I will.
Train car stuck in the air and unstable - Bobby's got it. He brought all the cool tools.
Worst kind of team huddle - deciding who you can safe and who you can't.
Puppers! Hard at work, still cute.
The disgust in Eddie's voice when he finally tells Bobby why Buck is so determined to save Sam (It's Abby - like the sound of her name makes him sick) - very platonic. Just a bro worried about his friend never thinking of his own safety first.
Buck: How can I do this dangerous yet heroic thing?
Bobby: Why are you such a pushy little jerk?
Eddie: Everyone shut up!
And somehow Buck ends up outside of the train car. Wonder how Eddie managed to get that to happen (yes, I am giving Eddie credit that I'm not sure he deserves, but who else could have been the mediator?)
Oh, and Hen and Chim help a teenager with an internal decapitation! This episode has all the drama.
Eddie checks in on Buck - because he knows he's not really okay.
Glad Athena has support from a professional to help her process everything.
Michael's wonderful news! Smaller tumor and flirting with the hot doctor? Go Michael!
Buck looks so uncomfortable. Kinda proud of him for asking Abby the hard questions. He deserved better from their relationship, from her. It pains me how sad he still looks at the end, like he was somehow a problem, like he wasn't enough.
At least we get the silly party at the end.
Buck and Chris cuteness.
May asking Maddie for guidance/advice.
Karen and Hen roasting Michael about his 'fire pit'.
Buck and Eddie and the beads, which leads to the more important forehead touches and crosseyed Eddie.
I would just like to say as someone who also figured out they were likely pregnant because food smelled gross - Maddie's lightbulb moment is so real.

Metron's Love Life: Does It Exist?
Okay to be fair, it's never stated in canon that Metron can't fall in love. Ive been going around saying it is canon, but it's probably more of my own extrapolation of his personality than anything. It's my interpretation of what is or isnt out of character for him. With that in mind, let's look at three specific scenarios and I'll let you be the judge on whether or not this guy has a heart. These are the only brushes with romance that Metron's had that I'm aware of (and believe me, im very aware).
Scenario 1: New Gods #13 by Gerry Conway 1977
Metron and others are each tasked with protecting a human on Earth, so he shows up in New Orleans to protect a woman named Lorraine Hampton. The only indication that he's partial to her at all is when he watches her perform on stage and admires her singing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: Two comic panels. In the first, Lorraine turns Metron's face towards herself flirtatiously and says, "--and like me." To which Metron replies, "I'm sure I shall enjoy your performance Lorraine Hampton." She says, "See that you do, good buddy... And don't go home without me."
In the second image he watches Lorraine sing and says to himself thoughtfully, "Odd. I've traveled half a dozen galaxies... Spanned a full third of the known universe... But never have I felt a sense of belonging, as I feel here... Tonight." /END]
My personal feeling is that this out of character, but he really only has had 11 appearances up to this point. It's hardly much to go by. And in fairness, this is treated as a kind of unexpected anomaly that he finds himself feeling this way. But I suppose what I always end up falling back to is Kirby's characterization in New Gods. In my heart of hearts I just don't see this fitting. And also it really skirts around flirtation without him indicating if the odd feeling he has is romantic or just fascination.
Scenario 2: Super Powers #5 by Jack Kirby 1984
So if Kirby's word is gospel, what do we have here. In this one Metron has managed to save everyone after dealing with Darkseid and the Worlogog. To show her appreciation, Wonder Woman gives him a chaste kiss on the cheek, to which Metron appears visibly startled.
Tumblr media
[ID: A comic panel of Wonder Woman kissing Metron on the cheek. Metron looks shocked and says, "What?! A kiss for Metron? I-- I never thought it likely--" Wonder Woman replies, "You deserve it-- for saving our world, and showing us that even a god can be human." Off screen someone says, "The brain booster-- it just disappeared!" /END]
I've shared this panel before because to me this is buck wild. Metron getting a kiss! From Wonder Woman!! He looks as surprised as I did when I first read this. I'd call this fan service but idk besides me what fan this could possibly cater to. Regardless, this is a rare time where we get any insight into Metron's thinking about romance at all. He doesnt say if receiving a kiss is something he had desired or hoped for, or even if he liked it. Just that he thought it wasn't in the cards for him. Knowing him, if he had wanted this kind of interaction with someone, he would have pursued it to completion. We've seen other instances where he is almost relentless about getting what he wants, so to me it means he didn't care enough to try to make it happen. But hmm idk, that really doesn't explain why he's so flustered.
Scenario 3: New Gods #22 by Mark Evanier 1991
Metron thinks back on the time when he betrayed all of New Genesis by giving Darkseid the means to be anywhere at any time in exhange for the ability to complete work on the Mobius Chair. Back then there was a woman who tried very hard to keep his attention, but she never won him over in the way she would've liked. He respected her in a way, and even said he loved her, but he also thought of her abstractly and through the lens of study.
Tumblr media
[ID: A comic panel of Metron and Desdemona arguing. Desperately, Desdemona yells, "There was a time, Metron, when you said you loved me... When that and that alone gave you purpose!" Standing away from her, but turning back to regard her, Metron says, "Desdemona, I do love you. In my own way, I always shall. But I was gifted with an insatiable brain and a thirst for knowledge, so that I might ever expand the latter." /END]
So now we finally have an example of Metron addressing his ability to love directly. And by his own words, he can love. He does love. But it clearly isnt in the way that others do, and he knows it. But despite what he says, he still betrays her and others. He doesnt try to protect her, or even really consider her in general except when he's taking mental notes on her behavior. Always the academic amirite?
The other thing with this exchange is that apparently at one time he said she was enough to satisfy his mind. No offense but I find that pretty hard to believe. It's a real 'he would not fucking say that' situation. I'll buy that Metron thinks he loves someone in his own way, but i draw the line at him allegedly saying love gave him purpose. I mean come on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: Two comic panels of Metron and Desdemona talking. He appears stern, while she looks defeated with tears in her eyes. In the first he says, "There is a price to be paid with every gain of knowledge. As my mate, you shall just have to accept that." She says, "You have so much to learn, Metron. Even the simplest truths escape you."
In the second panel she walks away from him saying, "I have not been your 'mate' for a long time." /END]
See now this sounds a lot more like Metron. He wants her to accept that Darkseid's troops attacked New Genesis children in exchange for securing the element that powers the Mobius Chair. And you know what? He totally would fucking say that! That is SO in character! Are these the words of a man who loves someone?? No! And this whole "as my mate" business.. I do think he'd say that. I don't like it, but is it within reason for his personality? Absolutely.
So like, to me it kinda seems like he didnt really love her even if he thought he did. He mightve loved studying her? But thats about it. And when she walked away crying she said she never wanted to see him again and he noted her behavior for further study (not pictured).
Now there is something to be said about this being just one writer's characterization of him, but Evanier worked as one of Kirby's assistants during the creation of the Fourth World books. He has gone on record as saying he felt he didn't do as good of a job with the title himself, but I still think tonally maybe he gets a little extra credit for whatever insight working with Jack Kirby gave him.
That said, would Metron ever take on a "mate"? Idk maybe for science to see what it's like or how it goes. And would he end up completely missing how much he hurts her? Probably. So yeah, to me this wasn't love. Even though he said it was.
In Conclusion
Ive shown what I can related to Metron's few brushes with romance. Obviously I couldnt include all of scenario 3, so if you want to learn more youll have to read the entire issue. But as you can see, the rare times where he supposedly saw some action, it's either unclear how into it he is, or unclear if what he felt was actually romantic attraction in the first place. And in all cases, it really begs the question of if certain aspects are even in character to begin with. So what do you think? Does Metron have the ability to love?

The buckleys coming back will add great to buck breakdown arc but I'm curious as to how theyre gonna play it with them visiting. Like there reason there in town i jee0yun birthday or idk I cant see it being injured buck though.
Hey Nonnie
The Buckley parents being back is going to be so so good I just know it!
We have zero knowledge about why they're back, or even in what form their return is going to take - all we have to go on is a couple of costumes and Oliver mentioning them being back in a couple of interviews, but there are so many options to explore.
Obviously they're going to be back because both Buck and Maddie have unresolved trauma to deal with in relation to their parents, and this plays into the narrative for their characters this season parenthood - for Maddie its exploring her breaking the cycle (and not breaking the cycle at the same time because she already did it with Buck) and learning how to be a good parent - the kind of parent her own weren't for her (or Buck), its about showing us the contrast between what Maddie is doing to raise Jee-Yun in a loving home and what she experienced as a child herself.
As for Buck - well his parents are the route of all of his trauma - they are why he's never felt wanted or like he is deserving of love or peoples time, that he's worth more than 'defective spare parts' and that he has worth. his parents need to return for him to reach any sort of resolution.
I personally am of the opinion that Buck will have to accept that he will never get from his parents what he so desperately craves - that there is no real redemption for his parents and no salvaging his relationship with them (or indeed building one with them in the first place) and that season 6 is going to ultimately be about him recognising this and that he has worth without their love or approval. That is where his true growth lies, because once he accepts this he can heal (healing and growth isn't always about getting to somewhere mutually - I think his parents are too far gone into their grief and self obsession to be able to grow with Buck - unlike we've seen from Ramon or Toni or even Beatrice) and begin to recognise his worth and the love of those around him. The familial love of the firefam and the romantic love he's been growing with Eddie without truly understanding it.
This all then ties into him breaking the cycle of parental love - with him realising/ understanding and acknowledging that he doesn't have to give a part of himself away (his sperm) to have worth - or for someone else to get to be a parent (because I'm convinced that a part of the reason Buck said yes to being a sperm donor is because he thinks that a a child with his DNA has a better chance of having good parents if he isn't involved - (i'm going to word this terribly) because he grew up with bad parents and so in his mind he would also be a bad parent - so in his mind he's subconsciously thinking that they'll be loved in a way he wasn't growing up - and that is better than him raising his own child) in his place. He's also going to really begin to realise that he's already broken that cycle - that he's been raising a child - Christopher - and that his parental love isn't conditional on DNA etc.
As for context of their visit - we don't even know if it is a visit - it appears that they're filming in another life at the moment which could very much be an exploration of an alternate universe - where Buck was able to save Daniel and he grew up loved and wanted by his parents and with two older siblings - if this is the case, it will all play into what Buck needs to learn about himself in order to move on.
If we're not entering the realms of AU, then anything to do with Jee-Yun is a possibility - a birthday etc, or perhaps with Maddie and Chim moving into a new house - theres a house warming of some sort. Its also possible that they find out about Buck donating sperm and decide to pay a visit for that reason, perhaps they come at Bucks request because of something he reads in a self help book - or as part of his year of yes, or there is the option that the show could choose to pick up on the joint therapy from season 4 again. Honestly there are so many reasons for them to visit that it's hard to begin to parse it out with the little information we have.
I'm not prepared to dismiss the idea of it being for injured Buck though because I think there are a few interesting ways to take that as well - in fact I rather like the idea of injured Buck being the reason they visit - as if they're trying to show willing on that front (from their lack of it in previous times) and it leading to arguement between them and Buck and subsequently to Buck accepting that they won't change and that he can stop putting effort into his relationship with them etc. In many ways I actually think this would be an interesting way to take things because it allows for the exploration of so many aspects of who Buck is and why he's the way he is, and hell this direction could also include the AU aspect - if its as a result of Buck being in a coma or something!
What I do know is that the show will surprise us and it will be very impactful and move Bucks story forward in a lot of ways! I can't wait!

okay here's my very smart escape plan 😁 I'm sure u will be very proud madame 🩷
I'm hiding in the closet right? picture me shaking in my boots inside the closet . an enraged Dr Hyde is banging at the door, I can hear little cracks forming. panic clouds my mind and so in a fit of desperation I block the door with my body, BAD IDEA! my efforts were always futile. Now I'm faced with Dr Hyde, not really him but their fist actually, you're standing somewhere screaming GET THEIR ASS! or some variation of it as I get the lights beaten out of me. and then I think something up! I tell it that he left his dog in the cab, Dr Hyde doesn't have a dog but this is enough to confuse them, his grip loosens and that's when I make a run for it. I grab my bag and I run out the door screaming for a cab. thankfully one slows down, I jump in and begin to throw wads of cash at the driver GO FASTER! GO FASTER! GO FASTER! you two are chasing me in a different cab, it's like a scene from an action movie but I don't feel a thrill all I feel is fear. I've reached the airport now I get on a plane to las Vegas, I take my first comfortable breathe in a while. I've saved myself, or so I think. everyone gets what they deserve, in due time.
I'm in sin city now, incredibly bored with only a few bucks to my name. I get to gambling and develop an addiction fairly quickly. I win sometimes, but I mostly lose, my efforts were always futile. this sends me on a spiral of bad decisions. one of which lands me a death sentence.
I pled the fifth and the sixth and the seventh and every number I could think up in the courtroom, I never understood what that saying meant anyway, what does it actually mean to plead the fifth? no time to think about that now I have bigger fish to fry. on death row now I look back on my life. when did it get so wrong? when did I lose myself? was it the first game of poker I won? was it that first fruity little alcoholic drink I had? was it the first time I snatched some phone or purse off of someone? no. it was way before that, it was the day I hid in that closet. there's no hiding now, my efforts were always futile.
I make my way to the room where I will be executed, the executioner is at the door, they say something I don't make it out that well but I recognize the voice, I look back. PLOT TWIST, it's Dr Hyde! everyone gets what they deserve, he says. I sit on the electric chair and some other jailer puts those silly little restraints on me. why? I have no closet to hide in anymore. no door to block with my body. no dog to cry about to distract them. my efforts were always futile. it botches my execution multiple times, 28 minutes of pure agony, and then, the sweet release of death. I die penniless, a criminal, and worst of all, a coward.
pretty solid plan don't u think 😊
Quite a good one, but Eddie does actually have a dog, my dear.

Can I just say that I love the addition of "ABC, you know what to do!" to your recent asks 🤣 I think that we can all agree that if the finale by some miracle turns out to be a great episode that isn't Lucy and Buck getting 90% of the airtime, it's because someone else intervened. Did Timmy come home?? Speaking of him, I love (sarcastic) how he JUST chose to randomly post a Buddie BTS that he acknowledged in an interview as being a specific nod to the shippers and the fountain shooting up being a "metaphor" and open to audience interpretation 🙄 That man has always been *SO* ridiculously online that I'd ordinarily say that he knew exactly what he was doing by posting that at this time, but since deleting his Twitter, maybe he lost some of that online-ness and it really was just out of the blue. Idk. The lizard part of my brain wants to think that he saved the finale and there will be a different Buddie metaphor at play (ahem, the couch) but the other part of my brain is preparing for an Eddie/Marisol date in a montage 🤮 And maybe Buck with the baby and Kameron on his couch 🤮🤮 Wishing us luck, because we will need it!
Look, I just think ABC could pull off some really funny shit when they take over but that's only if the do the right thing and put their foot down about who is planning the arcs on the show. I'm not expecting a huge announcement out of it, *maybe* if we're lucky there will be something about her stepping down by HER choice due to *insert PR nonsense here* but I'm moreso going to be looking at the episode quality and pacing and arc because the show has had a markedly different feel since she took over. At least ABC will be promoting TF out of it to try and keep up viewers with the network switch so we might get more information that way on what to prepare for.
I'm also not going to pretend Tim is the greatest either since he handpicked KR to take over and LS has been a mess pacing and arcs wise too this season so IDK what was going on in those early 911 seasons, if there was someone else involved or if LS's issue is something RL related. But no matter what something has to change because this show deserves to go out with more than a fading whimper over its last few seasons.
Also, I have to say I'm fine with Buck getting a lot of screentime and taking charge during the big rescue because regardless if the writing earned that for him over the season (they didn't), it's something I WOULD like to see for Buck and I am HERE for some firefam feels after we were robbed in 6x11. I do NOT want to see L at all so I'm already bracing for that nightmare but hopefully the renewed backlash means they won't waste too much time on that. As for the rest of Buck's stuff, I'm prepared to be disappointed by all of it but hopefully it also won't take up too much time. And maybe if we luck out ABC will just handwave away anything too egregious and ignore it like it never happened.
Also, I could be totally wrong and we'll get something super amazing for Buddie which would be great! I love being proved wrong when I was pessimistic about something! But I'm not gonna get my hopes up, that doesn't work for ME personally. Good luck to all of us and good luck to ABC who are inheriting a hot mess and an absolutely rabbid fanbase.

⭐, dealer's choice for TDS, please and thank you?
Time to Fess Up Take 2:
This sequence went through A LOT of revisions. This draft cut scene comes directly after Harry's evacuation. I was experimenting with how I could get both Dick and Joan to confess what was going on and decided to try Lewis and Joan. I don't remember exactly why I didn't keep this one - I think it comes off a) as a little too much Lewis/Joan and b) Lewis has far too much of his shit together in this scene, which isn't the headspace he's in during Bastogne and doesn't align with the character as set up previously. I do really like the emotional vulnerability here.
"Joan." She looked up at Lewis, her eyes vacant, lip trembling. Christ, this is bad. "Can you come with me? Want to talk something over with you."
Lewis lifted the tarp on his foxhole like he was holding the door open for dinner, and she slid inside, moving over in the hole so Lew could follow her, tucking the flap. It smelled of earth, of cold, of pine. And as soon as the flap was down, she broke, big, ugly, gashing sobs that half of Belgium could probably hear in the dark, and Lew gathered her up in his arms and simply held her, and let her cry. He could feel her tears hot on his cheeks, his jacket, the first warmth he’d felt all day. Even here, in the middle of winter, there was warmth in something, inside them. Oh, Joanie, how long’s this been in there?  “Hey now. Hey.”
“It's my fault, Lew, I shouldn't have let him light that fire.”
“Joan, you couldn't have known.” It's no one's fault. It’s my fault. Hell, it’s Harry’s fault. “You know who really should be doing this, petting your hair and kissing tears off your cheeks.”
“It's not funny, Lew. We don’t have time for it.” She took a big, shivering sniffle. “If Harry's gone, he's got…Dike, Buck, and...me." She said 'if' like it were possible that Harry would come back from the aid station explaining it had been a splinter, easily fixed, right as rain again. They both knew that wasn't happening.
“So basically, he has you. He told me about your conversation the other day about Buck. Running yourself into the ground trying to save everyone else from themselves isn't going to do us any favors, either. Come here."
“You're laughing at me.”
“No, I'm laughing at myself," he said, rearranging his arm around her shoulders and rucking the blanket tighter around them. "About a month after you all - the girls - arrived, we were in the officers club one night shooting the shit and got around to talking about - well, you know. Dick wasn’t not having any of it, because that's who he is, and says, Lew, when it's really rough are you going to want Eileen or Joan in your foxhole? Now, Eileen is a beautiful woman, and the USO is lucky to have her, but between the two of you there's no one I'd rather be sat here with consoling.” “You want to bunk down here for the night? Sometimes we just need to be held, Joan.”
“They need me forward.”
“I'll send someone to tell them where you are - and if you utter one more complaint or excuse, woman, I'll tell them all you're in Dick's foxhole and you two looked mighty cozy.”
She sniffled, gave a weak laugh. “You wouldn't.”
“Oh, watch me. We can start another fire with Dick's blushes.”
"What did you tell Lip?"
"I told him Mom and Dad were fighting and you'd decided to run away to Dog Company."
"Lewis!"
"I told him you needed some rest and he could find you here if he needed you. He thanked me for getting you some sleep."
“We don't deserve Carwood Lipton.”

Since you don't mind questions about 911 what would an FD have done in the Jonah situation, were the other's right to be mad at Taylor?
Nonny I'm gonna link you to a post that my friend Cíara (@fighterkimburgess) reblogged earlier that sums things up pretty well.
Just like cops have the blue wall that needs to fall, we have the red, and it needs to be obliterated as well. But building that red wall up high, fortifying it, is all that Buck's (as well as Chimney's and I think Hen's) reaction to Taylor's reporting said to me.
I watched this episode with Roomie last night. And I was pissed off pretty much the entire time. It's hard when things like this happen. You trust paramedics and firefighters implicitly. Without question. Your life is in their hands and you know that, so you respect it. More than that you believe in it. So when someone, a perfect stranger, who you're supposed to trust so fully and so easily, takes advantage of that, betrays that, it shakes you. And I don't mean 'you' in a strictly general sense. I don't mean it to be just the public who we swore to protect, I mean it as in me and my co-workers as well. Our lives are in each other's hands just as much, if not more than yours are. If I'm hurt on the job, and I have been, then I'm rescued by my team. I'm treated by the same paramedics I work with day in and day out. Just like everyone else. And to abuse that...it's honestly rage-inducing to me.
The FD would have done an Olympic-level gymnastics routine to deflect this situation. Blame would have been placed on any and all FDs that Jonah cycled through before coming to LA. Make no mistake in LA's eyes, they're the victim. Not the person we know Jonah killed, not all the others he put in danger, not the others he likely killed, but them. The institution. And they would have said and done anything to make the people see that. And a part of me gets it. They don't want the stink of this to linger on the department, not just because it's a bad look, but because it makes the public question us. It makes them wonder, even if just for a second if they can trust the firefighter or paramedic who comes to rescue them. And that makes our job harder.
But Taylor has a job too, and an important one. And truthfully, they all should have been happy that she was the one who broke the story, and not some reporter that maybe isn't as inclined to see things from their point of view. Nothing from what we saw of Taylor's reports put any blame on the FD. As Roomie pointed out/filled me not only has she been saved by firefighters, not only was she dating one, but there's also her experience with her dad. She knows how easily killers can hide in plain sight. And the turmoil they can leave in their wake. She knows that intimately. So of course she isn't going to blame the FD, any of them for this oversite, nor is she going to blame any one firefighter, as others might and have in the past. But she is also not wrong in saying that the public deserves to know that this happened, without the hoop jumping spin the FD would put on it. That someone like this was able to get through the psych evals. That this was not a one-off, that there could be more victims out there. And not just in LA.
TL;DR: Bobby was the only one talking sense to me last night. I think he's the best reflection of what they all should have been feeling. I'm hoping that maybe this was some deflecting going on on the other's parts because we all do that. We've all shifted blame at one point or another. We all take our complicated feelings out on people who usually don't deserve it. But a) that doesn't make this right and b) given my (albeit very limited) experience with this show, that's way too much to ask.
