This Canon Powershot S100 is the digital camera I use to take all my photos. My grandpa used it throughout the 2000s and gifted it to me.
After receiving this camera, I throughly researched the camera’s technicalities to familiarize myself with this new tool. I began by familiarizing myself with its basic functions, specifically the shutter speed, ISO settings, and the menu settings. I experimented with the image stabilization to ensure well-focused and clear photos. I took advantage of the macro mode for close-up, detailed photography. Once I captured my photos, I reviewed them on the LCD screen to utilize the editing features, including the exposure, contrast, and color balance. Not only did I use the basic editing features, but I also transferred them to my phone for additional post- processing editing using Adobe Lightroom, an editing software.

Ryen!
How did you change your camera to HD pictures?!?
They look amazing by the way!🤩
Can’t wait for you to come to LA! ☺️
wobble!! here are the settings i have (and i have a 13 pro)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
☀️i like being able to control the exposure manually, since concert lighting can change in a snap. adjust the exposure by tapping the camera and sliding the slider up for more and down for less
Tumblr media
‼️the pro tip that i have is to not zoom in more than 3x zoom! once you zoom in over 3x, it changes the format of the file and it gets super grainy. it’s always better to film or take pics while zoomed out more and then crop them later✌️
that’s what i got for now, but these are some of the photos i was able to capture with all these settings and adjustments, both far away and up closer:

have fun if you change your settings!

DEPTH OF FIELD - THE SECRET OF MUCH PHOTOGRAPHY
BETTER CALLED THE “DEPTH OF SHARPNESS” I gave a lecture recently in which I showed the above image of mineral terraces in Yellowstone National Park. I had to admit that the depth of field was inadequate. The foreground was out-of-focus. I had not used an f-stop that would give me sufficient depth of field. (I was using f/5.6 and I should have been using f/16 or even f/22. One of the parameters…

Some basic information about a couple of camera settings
Shutter speed, how long the sensor is exposed to light.
Aperture, how big the hole is where light shines through. Also determines sharpnes and it can determine blur around an object for example.
ISO is the light sensitivity. Low ISO, then less grain in the photo, and an high ISO might be needed in low light conditions but it causes grains in the photo.

Some Basketball Photos
Tumblr media
These are some photographs I've shot for a new basketball league.
I may watch NBA basketball but I participate in real-life, local basketball as a photographer/content creator, and these are some of the pictures I've contributed to the league's marketing team.
Tumblr media
Now the recommended setting for sports photography are 1/1000 shutter speed, and aperture of f5.0 and your ISO opened up to about 400.
Now here's the trick, with this and wiith every other form of photography, the settings are really just a general framework and a starting point/default for adjustments that you will then have to make based on available light.
So you may start at 1/1000 shutter speed but find 1/800 gives you better results, so you stay in 1/800.
Also, your position in relation to the light will often influence your choices, so you need to be able to add and take away light, and thats why your settings are important to remember.
Tumblr media
This guy is a standout star in our local basketball scene, and he also happens to be on the marketing team for the league as well.
His Instagram has a bunch of clips of him, he's also played in the Basketball National League.

Some how Sunnyside Basketball team managed to get a UNICEF sponsorship, a very rare feat considering the last pro teams I remember having those were probably FC Barcelona.

Pre-Trip Adrenalin
It’s almost time… our annual pilgrimage to Rocky Mountain National Park to see the elk rut. Actually it kicked in last night, that nervous feeling in the pit of your stomach that won’t let you sleep. I hate that feeling, the uncertainty, the wondering if everything is ready, if I have forgotten something. I finally managed to fall asleep but I was already awake again at 3:00 this morning 😦 I did…

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS - Become a better Photographer
SOME QUESTIONS ON PHOTOGRAPHY RECEIVED WHILST ON HOLIDAY On my recent holiday (cruising on the River Maine) I was asked a number of photographic questions. Let me share four of them with you:    Q.1     I can’t get my camera to focus properly at night time.    A.1     Change from Auto Focus to Manual Focus – as I did for this shot of the quayside in Sydney Harbour (Australia).    Q.2     My…
