so many meals can be bolstered by just throwing a handful of frozen spinach in there while you cook it. scrambled eggs? add some spinach. ramen? add some spinach. mac and cheese? add some spinach, baby!

#eliot posts #specifically i use a bag of frozen spinach so you can just dump some into the pot #the frozen blocks do NOT work for this purpose #unless you wanna add way too much spinach or go at the block with a gd icepick #and i prefer frozen to fresh bc fresh needs to be Kept Track Of or else it will go yucky in your fridge #frozen spinach is fine with being forgotten about for months #idk how much nutrition the spinach actually adds but it at least makes the meals FEEL less depressing #and prevents the dawning horror of ''dear god i cannot actually remember the last time i ate a vegetable'' from occurring #this is no longer a sad 30 cent brick of ramen in sad packet broth. now there is leaf! sometimes even egg/onion too! #i will still eat it directly out of the pot bc i am too depressed to clean a bowl tho.

Because my mom literally brews one pot of coffee at the top of the week (in a normal coffee maker), drinks from the same brewed pot throughout the week (from the pot. No bottling it. No refrigeration. Does not reheat it. Just room temperature coffee that has sat in the pot for up to a week). Makes a new one when she runs out.

#more crucial context: the pot is directly next to the sink right under where we keep paper towels too so. that dishwater. she be getting in #there’s also a mug she keeps next to it. and to my knowledge. she never washes it. #(evidenced by it’s always Thee Favored mug at the moment. and I have never seen it in the dish drain when I get home ever #and yes. she DOES take her coffee with milk and sugar #I think the mug situation might make this even more nasty than just the stale pot of room temp coffee does #but still. I wanna know if I’m right about this #egg’s polls #this is not her worst food sin btw. just the most consisten out of many #you should have seen the burgers I could’ve eaten tonight. she basically just upended 3 wads (not balls. wads) of ground beef in a used pan #and was gonna call it a day at that

#invaluable item: bowl-sized soup pot #well it should be about 2x the size of what you'd eat in a bowl of soup to allow stirring room #food #u make ur ramen in there while frying up the eggs that go on top #get water to a boil and add ramen flavor packets #once it's at a simmer heat up ur frying pan #eggs should hit the hot pan around the same time as ramen hits the boiling water #then turn off the ramen heat and cover #by the time you're done cooking the eggs how you like (i prefer over medium) the ramen should be done #so u can slide the eggs on top #if you have bok choy or any quick-cook veg slide it in between the ramen and the egg #itll blanch by the time you bring the pot over to ur desk #god i made these tags long oops

Mum wanted noodles so we went back to XO Minced Meat Noodle (XO 肉脞麵) at Sembawang Shopping Centre. She decided to go with the S$4.50 bowl of Lor Mee (卤面). Came with braised pork bellies, half a braised egg, bean curd roll and fishcake slices drenched with dark brown gravy thickened with corn starch plus a crispy dumpling and tempura bits.

First time ordering the S$6.50 Tom Yum Mini Pot Noodle (冬炎小碗面) which came with a soup pot with food candle underneath and noodles in a separate bowl. A spoonful of the soup jolted up all the taste buds with that sourness and spiciness. The noodles are springy and the crunchy of tempura bits add to the different overall textures.
