What a difference 53 years makes juxtaposition of Ferrari 365 GTS/4, 1971 & Ferrari 12Cilindri Spider, 2024. The new 819hp 6.5 litre V12 front engined Ferrari is also available as an open roof spider. The Pininfarina-designed 365 GTS, commonly known as the Daytona Spider had a 4.4 litre 347hp Colombo V12, 122 were made.

Actor James Garner with his 1967 Ferrari 330 GTS Spider Convertible by Pininfarina.

The 330 GTS was built from 1966-1968, with only 100 being built. Today it is not uncommon for one of these Ferraris to fetch more than $2,000,000.

Ferraris have an enduring quality that is impossible to ignore but, it’s fair to say, they were in a real golden age in the 1960s and the vehicles from this era are beyond compare from an aesthetic point of view.

Ferrari 365 GTB/4 NART Spider, 1977 (1971), by Michelotti. Chassis no. #14299 left the Modena works in 1971 as a 365 "Daytona" and was delivered to a client in Greenwich, Connecticut. It was returned to Luigi Chinetti, Ferrari importer in the USA, in 1975. Chinetti sent the car, along with 2 other Daytonas, to Michelotti in Turin to be transformed into NART spiders. The other 2 cars we used for racing but #14299 was given as a present to Marion, Chinetti’s wife.
