I had a mental image and it won't let me go. Basically, Stretch sees how stressed out Blue is because he is constantly having to out his life on pause to play out some random role in a Reset over and over, and while it's comforting to know Stretch isn't the only one dealing with Resets and he has someone he can not only trust but go to for comfort (strange as it is to imagine with it being Sans, whom he hates having to burden especially now that he knows just how cool his brother actually is, he always knew Sans was the most magnificent monster but learning he's an interdimentional hero working alongside literal gods does soemthign to a guy).
So basically, Papyrus works double time to stop the Resets. And eventually he succeeds! So Sans is now clear to live his life and, like you said, finally tell everyone about his true self and his real job!
Problem is... multiverse shenanigans keep interrupting him every time he tries so while everyone knows something weird is up and it involves Sans, there is no context for the suddenly appearing skeletons that constantly interrupted their day and Sans somehow knows them all and is slowly getting more and more frustrated by the day because he very clearly wants to tell them something.
It blows down to Sans literally sitting everyone down and just saying it outright that the multiverse exists and when Killer comes running in on a supply run, Sans bodily tackles him, sits on him, and forces him to help him explain because,
"So help me if I get interrupted while explaining what the multiverse is one more time I'm gonna spike all of your favorite foods with laxatives!!"
"That'd be funny, actually..."
"DAMNIT KILLER!!!"
Idk jsut funny shenanigans with Blueberry getting more and more frustrated because he wants to tell people and finally is allowed to tell people but apparently the multiverse decided that moment to be the biggest nuisance
(He find out later it was Ink's fault)
Saving this saving this sAVING THIS—
Everything and everyone is just constantly against him in the most unfortunately comedic ways. And it starts out small! Little inconveniences, maybe not even at the fault of outside influences. He’s trying to tell Chara and Frisk, but no, Asgore says it’s their bed time, it’ll have to wait. Tries to explain it to Undyne and Alphys, hoping Undyne would maybe be help in explaining it to everyone else, but oops something in her lab exploded, they have to deal with that real quick.
Then it’s the Stars needing his help in another world, so he has to dip for a day or too, leaving Paps to be like “uh he’ll explain later.” Later comes, and a very apologetic Dream needs his help pulling Noots and Error apart cuz Ink’s no help, he’s just watching their argument and eating popcorn. So he has to leave again, far more frustrated than before, which baffles all his friends and family.
Then it’s like actual trouble; a world is falling apart and they need to evacuate it. There’s a council meeting and they’re introducing a new Sans. The Gang’s on an LV spree and needs someone to spare with so they don’t rip apart more Underfell copies. Just, every time he comes in saying he has an announcement to make, planning around his schedule and everyone else’s to get a family night together and finally come clean, SOMETHING has to get in the way and ruffle his feathers.
Meanwhile his family is so concerned. They’ve never seen Sans so tired and annoyed before. The dude just is done with the innocent bean performance pretty much as soon as they’d stopped the resets and is, to them, acting strangely. He clearly wants to talk but just can never get the chance. And who are these other skeletons that are popping up to talk to him?? To whisk him away with stern, worried looks?? Does he have long lost relatives they never talked about? Is he involved in something bad? Is he safe, is he trying to escape something he doesn’t wanna be a part of??
(Paps takes a bit of pity on him and asks if Blue just wants him to explain it, but Blue really really wants to be the one to tell them of his adventures and his job and all of his progress and achievements. He’s waited SO LONG for this he wants it so badly!!)
Eventually he manages to get Lust to just cover for him for a single day, a DAY that’s all he needs, but NO. Killer’s just gotta swoop in last second and Blue’s SO at the end of his patience why is this so DIFFICULT—

A Different Undertale: Main Cast Summary
Content warning:
Frisk: Climbed Mount Ebott when playing with their friends. Fell and got amnesia. Actually takes the name of the first fallen human because of this. Goofy and childish. Naive. Easily manipulated because of their amnesia and general nativity and gullibility.
Flowey: If a monster body can't handle determination how would a lowly flower be able to? That's the logic I went with here. The determination and continued resets take a toll on Flowey's body. Due to his constant suffering he views the world through a pessimistic lense. More like a travel buddy for Frisk, constantly manipulating them to their bidding. Doesn't actually want to harm anyone, especially not Frisk, as they feel genuinely grateful for their help, but steal the souls to try and stop or at least delay his own demise.
Toriel: After being banished to the Ruins she lost all hope and began to deteriorate mentally. Delusional and has blotchy memories. Still kind and gentle but keeps mistaking you for her children. Doesn't remember who killed her kids but knew it was someone she loved and trusted. Somehow she begins to believe you killed her children and that's why you want to leave so soon. Similar to Horrortale and Underfell Toriel.
Sans: His magic became too strong and due to a combination of over exertion, low stats, laziness, drug addiction, and his loss of hope, his body began to deteriorate. He's basically a walking body made of dust puppeted by his soul. The only thing giving him a reason to live is taking care of his brother. Using magic, including shortcuts, causes him great pain. Smokes and drinks. Buys drugs off Grillby. Similar to Underfell Sans. Eye glows....grey. One hit is all it takes to shatter him completely. In genocide he doesn't even need to dodge as he's basically just dust now meaning your attacks have no effect.
Papyrus: Suffers from extreme autism and ADHD. Has little control over his body and magic. Still an expert with puzzles but they're more of his pastime. Needs constant attention and stimulation. Sans usually keeps him on a child leash to make sure he's not mugged or shanked or something. However most monsters actually really like him and most gangs even help him. A shining hope in the underground, showing there is good out there. Similar to Horrortale and Axetale Papyrus. Almost completely mute only speaking in jumbled words and an occasional NYEH. Sans translates what he means to the best of his ability.
Undyne: The cruel captain of the Royal Guard. Ashamed of the person she's become which is why she rarely removes her helmet. Sent to execute innocents and usually follows through. Refuses to kill children or queer people (as long as being queer is their only "crime") so she "accidently" lets them get away. The only person who can access Alphys. Secretly lesbian but won't come out due to fear of being removed from the Royal Guard.....or worse. Stays in the Royal Guard only because she's afraid of someone worse taking over. Still hates humanity but comes around pretty easily. If anything were to happen to her friends she might just finally snap.
Alphys: A "criminal" due to possessing human objects, being bisexual, and also illegal experimentation (honestly that's the only real crime here). Ashamed of herself. Isolated and hidden in her lab which has high security designed to only allow humans and or Undyne. Due to her isolation she has terrible eyesight. "Sees" by sensing Infrared heat like snakes. Nervously shakes ALOT. Has a lisp and a stutter and just generally has trouble talking. Has a huge crush on Undyne but doesn't want to get her in trouble.
Asgore: Has a genuine hatred for humanity after they sealed his kind underground and cursed them suffering. A cruel leader who hates anything the humans made. Doesn't even burry the humans just stores their corpses in his corpse room to intimidate the next humans. Doesn't even want freedom. Just likes killing humans. There's a small bit of his original kind and gentle self in there. Similar to Underfell Asgore. Cold. Destroys the Mercy and Fight buttons. Forcing you to just stall.
Mettaton: He was able to avoid execution for being so....Mettaton by promising to "bring hope and happiness to the underground." In other words....he's a sex worker. Hotland has become one big strip club. Many monsters hate him because he avoided execution by offering over his body. He's viewed as a cheater and able to be free. But really he's just as trapped as everyone else. Forced to stay in his ex form 90% of the time and has come to hate it. He's also come to hate Alphys for ditching him. He's become almost as pessimistic as Napstablook now. He buys drugs from Muffet to cope but they don't really have an effect besides gunking up his machinery. His body was also made more sexually appealing and even more feminine. All of his dreams of acting have been taken away and replaced with an eternity of dancing poles. He's similar to Lusttale Mettaton and Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel
Napstablook: After his cousin left their dying snail farm Napstablook turned to drugs. They smuggled them from Grillby's as they didn't want to be seen but at least they always left money on the counter on their way out. Unfortunately the drugs dont do anything for Napstablook because they're a ghost and the drugs are corporeal. If they would've asked for ghost drugs Grillby probably would've asked Muffet to make them since who would pass up an opportunity for a whole new group of customers but Napstablook doesn't like to talk to people and prefers isolation. They are also suicidal and similar to most Horrortale Napstablook interepretations they make a noose with their tears which is what they're doing when you first meet them. Unfortunately since their a ghost they can never truly rest in peace.
Monster Kid: Hangs around with other gangs who are a bad influence on the child. They're violent and aggressive. They still admire Undyne (though they pretend not to, to seem cool) and get under her skin and she comes close to killing them a couple times. They actually do die in the neutral and genocide routes. In neutral they fall off the bridge before anyone can save them and in genocide they are killed before Undyne can arrive. They are incredibly petty and jealous towards those with arms which is almost everyone.
Temmies: Tem has taken advantage of her intelligence. She runs a cultist gang of Temmies worshipping the all knowing egg. She keeps the loyal by manipulating them and getting them high on Grillby's drugs. She believes herself to be too smart for college and just wants all the money for the hell of it. Sends her Temmie hordes on heists and has them donate their riches to the egg's donation box which just so happens to lead to Tem's underground weapons shop. She sells great weapons at high prices and is a pretty influential terrorist of the underground. The only Tem she hasn't converted yet is Bob. He sits in the corner of the abandoned Tem Village (they relocated to a new area known as Tem Empire or Tempire) and thinks about how far he let things get out of hand....and if he should just follow everyone else.
Grillby: A drugs dealer in Snowdin. One of the kinder monster though. He's greedy and will kill anyone who pisses him off. But won't go out of his way to hurt anyone and at the end of the day he's just trying to provide for his family. He doesn't make drugs just sells them though sometimes he spices them up with fire magic. He's well liked in Snowdin....too well liked as he's afraid someone's gonna let slip about his underground operation. He makes sure to butter the dogs up with treats in his "apartment" and let them play poker. Misses his daughter but was forced to move away to Snowdin when Muffet threatened not to supply him with anymore products if he didn't move further away from her shop.
Muffet: Money isn't the root of all evil. It's people's greed that makes them evil. And none are more evil than Little Miss Muffet. Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet making her joint and weed. When along came cops who told her to stop but they're just food for her pet to eat. She makes all the drugs in the underground and sells them to other vendors only asking for a third of the revenue. She may sound like a great boss. But if you don't pay her in time you'll find yourself on the wrong side of her web. She already helped save the spiders from the Ruins due to her immense influence. She just wants the money to fill her putrid black heart. She may be cruel but deep down she's really just a scared little girl. Trying to prove herself to adults and not get pushed around. The only people who truly understand her are her spiders.
Mad Mew Mew: She's already transitioned due to her dummy body being destroyed in a fit of rage from Undyne and her finding this body dumped in the trash by the guards who raided Alphys human junk. Shes content with this body. But the underground doesn't take to lightly to queer folks. Asgore thinks it's something the humans made up and thus must be evil. And so Mew Mew is considered a criminal just for being herself. But if she's gonna be a criminal she might as well own it. She's gonna be the Undergrounds greatest criminal. Cause if she's going down she's taking all these other motherfuckers down with her. She leads a gang of other oppressed people and commits small misdemeanors and attacks those rude guards. Always being careful to avoid capture. She's one of the top crooks on Undyne's radar. And yet Undyne can't bring herself to capture and execute her. Undyne understands her struggles but doesn't agree with how she goes about dealing with them. They fight on the battlefield but in secret they hang out. They have a frenemy relationship. Undyne is trying to convince Mew to join the guard to at least offer her some protection but she's decided on raining hell in the Underground just to see the look on the guards face when they realize they messed with the wrong trans kitty.
River Person: Hope can be found in the strangest of places. River Person has gone quiet. Communicating through actions rather than words. Ferrying those who are worthy and drowning those who aren't. They drown very few people though. They try to see the good or rather potential for good in everyone. They believe there is hope for this world. That people can and will change. And that one day very soon peace will be returned. Until then they'll just hum their little tune in their riverboat and pray for a better tomorrow.
Annoying Dog: God has left this world
Asriel: Hopes and Dreams are a thing of the past. Asriel was born in a world with no Hopes, no Dreams, no Love. They befriended Chara but were distant from the rest of their family. They helped Chara move in their wheelchair and wanted to believe humanity was good....but one day disaster struck. Asriel and Chara were picking flowers. Chara knew very little about flowers and made a pie with them for Asriel's 12th birthday.....and poisoned him. The buttercups they picked poisoned the young monster and he passed away soon after.... As Flowey he blames Chara for everything. For the way the underground is. For the way he is. And for giving him hope that humanity was capable of anything but cruelty. He hates humans he hates monsters and wants them all to burn in hell alongside him. Even after regaining his true form he's covered in melting scars like a decaying corpse. Because some wounds never heal.
Chara: The first human who fell. They climbed Mount Ebott to bring joy to Monsterkind but ended up falling and breaking countless bones. They became wheelchair bound but Asriel and Toriel cared for them. They loved flowers and baking but weren't good at recognizing flowers. This lead to Asriel's death. Chara was stricken with grief and blamed them self which may be why they didn't fight back when Asgore killed them. It's said that when you enter the King's throne room you can still hear their laughter.
Gaster: His fall into the Core was no accident. He saw the decent of Monsterkind. And didn't want to around long enough to see it. So he fell into the Core. However even in death monsters are doomed to suffer. As he didn't die. He's stuck watching the world he tried to help spiral into hell unable to help. In intense pain his new goal is finding a way to put this world out of its misery.

Thinking about it? I feel like while Toriel and Asgore are both flawed. A lot of their flaws are actually a lot more similar than most people act like they are--it's just that, when faced with hard decisions, Asgore prioritizes his duties while Toriel prioritizes her integrity. But with enough time, both do show that they care immense for both duty and integrity--in most endings, Toriel will try reclaiming the throne after Asgore's death(reclaims her duties), meanwhile Asgore eventually decides enough is enough, and sacrifices his own life rather than Frisk's (reclaims his integrity).
But I'm just going to run through some flaws that both have, briefly--
Self-isolation: Both do this. Yes, Toriel was the one who exiled herself and shut out all monsterkind, but I'd actually argue that she actually self-isolates LESS than Asgore does. She still talks to Sans as a genuine equal and friend, and trusts him to protect a human in her stead. I'm...genuinely uncertain Asgore has anyone he can have a true heart-to-heart with and speak to as an equal. Yes, he offers to lend an ear to anyone in the Underground with troubles, but it sounds like no one in the Underground(except maybe Flowey) would even consider for a second that Asgore DOESN'T want to break the Barrier. Has he...actually told anyone about how he regrets his decree and no longer wants to follow through on it...?
Even Gerson seems to feel a bit betrayed that Asgore made that decree. Does even Gerson know that Asgore doesn't want to? Does anyone?
Avoids Problems by Solving Others' Problems: Again. Yes, Asgore is the one who's incredibly involved in the needs of his kingdom and is constantly crushed by the needs of his subjects, asking them to stop by and talk to him if they need help...but isn't this also kinda what Toriel does with the humans? Neither feel at all ready to confront their own emotions, so they bury those emotions under attempts to fix the problems of others. For Asgore, it's his subjects. For Toriel, it's the fallen humans. Yes, this is Asgore's job, and yes, Toriel is trying to save lives and avoid a war. But the game presents both these things as ultimately bad for Toriel and Asgore's mental health--Toriel is overprotective to the point of being smothering, and Asgore is known as being a pushover.
Denial: Both of them really, really, really want to ignore the tragedies they've experienced and just see their children again. It's not stated outright in the game, but considering how she acts, as well as how she talks in the Winter Alarm Clock Dialogue, it's easy to read Toriel as trying to 'fix' what happened with Chara and Asriel by saving the humans who fall, or even replace her kids. (Flowey certainly seems to read her behavior in that way.) Asgore says as much about himself more or less outright. He thinks about raising Frisk himself, quickly realizes this is just an impossible dream, then says he just wants to see his wife and son again.
Avoidant of Conflict: Yes, yes, Asgore is a big fluffy pushover. But this also applies to Toriel too, I think, if you read between the lines. Toriel seems to despise Asgore when you first talk to her, and judges him overly harshly. So if she hates him so much, why doesn't she just march out of the Ruins, and talk to Asgore, and scare him straight?
I once proposed a theory that, because Toriel doesn't teach you to spare enemies, only to stall until she scares them off, and because she demands that you 'fight or run away' rather than 'survive and show mercy'...she doesn't REALIZE it's possible to resolve things peacefully, even if she wants to avoid the deaths of innocents. So why doesn't she just march out of the Ruins and murder Asgore so she can do away with his decrees? Personally I like to think because she doesn't want to have to choose between watching her ex-husband die, and watching her adopted child die. Even if she does that before a human falls, she's still being asked to kill her ex-husband. And I don't think she wants to do that if it can be avoided.
Likewise, as we see. Asgore is fully capable of taking one soul, passing through the Barrier, and claiming a final soul. That's what his kids did. It's common knowledge that his kids did this. He HAS to know that was an option. But he delayed as long as possible, not wanting to start the war, not wanting to tell his people no. Even when he decisively chooses 'No, I'm not killing this kid'--he doesn't tell anyone aside from Frisk of his choice. He doesn't ask them to free the trapped souls. He doesn't make an announcement of who will be leader in his stead. He just...entrusts Frisk to find a third option, like they seem to have a talent for doing.
I feel like they both have a nasty case of decision paralysis.
Expectations and Remaining Behind: Not quite a flaw, more just a sign of how neither is really ready to resolve all their traumas and depression they've been struggling with for years. But the way they say goodbye to you after their boss fights just reads...the same.
Despite being demanded that they prove themself and Fight, Frisk insists on showing mercy to Toriel or Asgore. Toriel says she'll put away her fears, anxieties, and loneliness, and lets Frisk leave through the Ruins doors, asking them not to come back, trusting that they'll find a way to get past Asgore. Asgore tells Frisk that if anyone can find a way to peacefully break the Barrier, it'll be Frisk, out on the Surface, and asks them to take his soul and leave. Making this parallel even stronger is how Toriel giving Frisk her own soul was something Toby considered, but thought would be far too dark for the first area of the game.
I dunno. They're both messed-up and horribly lonely and depressed. To the point where Toby considers one or the other comitting suicide to be interchangeable. I feel like that says something it bothers me that people seem to miss it.
Of course, these aren't their only flaws as characters. I feel like Toriel's biggest flaw is that she's unwilling to compromise. She draws boundaries and refuses to compromise them. Meanwhile, Asgore has issues enforcing his own boundaries and delegating. The influences which each prioritizes: duty or integrity. But overall, I feel like they're just. They're similar. It's kinda silly to say one is irredeemable and the other's a good person, because at the end of the day, they're similar.
They're must've been a reason they were such a happy couple, once upon a time.

IroTale - The end of UnderReinado
Don't read if you don't want spoilers. Do you get context for this? Soon. I wrote this off an inspiration spree and need to post something useful XD Yes, this is canon. All characters belong to me. I forgot who OuterTale belongs to. Error belongs to LoverOfPiggies.
~o0o~
Iro walked in to what she expected. Mountains were falling and the foundations of the world were screaming for help. Something she had seen countless times. Something she never wanted to see in this world. "Ahhh, so the special guest has finally arrived!" Aldrich grinned with his hands up in the air and his smile wide. "Welcome to the party!" Iro did not return such satisfaction. Her eyes narrowed at she observed the light from the foundations starting to break through the cracks of destruction. The stars started to fall, and the islands crumbled. She brushed the palm of her hands on her outfit, cleaning her gloves. Error wasn't going to be happy.
"So this is how you feel when an ENTIRE WORLD is at your mercy!" Aldrich spun with glee, his eyes getting crazier by the second. "The adrenaline is INSANE! It's coursing through my veins!" He let out a consistent cackle that shook his own bones. In the corner of her eye. the ghostwriter spotted the prince's trusted advisor. Ellinor couldn't stop her tears that fell down from her face. After observing the torn prince's robe in her hands, it was clear she had tried to stop him. And he had the audacity to hit her within the presence of OuterTale's stars. "ENOUGH." She could've sworn Aldrich flinched at her voice. "I told you this AU was off limits, Aldrich." Iro hissed in a tone that would make a mortal cower. "Oh please," Aldrich's face frowned and turned to face his creator. "You've broken the same rule before. These people dishonored me! I only did what you did with-" "Does it look like I asked for your excuse?" Iro pulled one of the swords from her backs, approaching the prince. "Stop. Stop this destruction now and I might forgive you for disobeying my orders." "The lights of the foundations have shot from the ground, it is too late." Aldrich bowed playfully. "Just help me finish this, and we can go to your next target." "No, this AU will be preserved. Error said so-" "Why do you even care for that guy anyway?!" Aldrich sneered, his hand traveled to the whip on his pocket. "He's done nothing but horrible things to you! I am repaying him for everything!" "He's done nothing to you. But I will," Iro's eyes started to glow and the dots on her head shifted. "You and your kingdom will punish for this." Aldrich dropped his shoulders. "Really? Another sacrifice? Does the destruction of this AU not suffice your need for blood?!" "Not the blood of innocents." "Hell you mean 'the blood of innocents'? That was your favorite!" Iro did not waver, staying silent. She and Aldrich both knew there wasn't much of his AU left to destroy or take away from him. Iro hoped it would dent his ego if the punishment was severe enough, but it only made him mad. It only made him like her. Aldrich looked around at the meteors and falling stars before glancing over at Ellinor. The red and orange glow of the flames did not compliment her face, and it only dried up her tears to stain her face. Iro guessed she was trying to calculate a way to save OuterTale with her little power to RESET. She made eye contact with the prince, before heaving a sigh of disgust and brokenness. Aldrich grabbed her by the scruff and threw her towards Iro. "There, there is your sacrifice to punish me." Iro raised an eyebrow. His actions became unpredictable. Iro glanced down at the frisk variant. "I'm so sorry ma'am…" Ellinor shook from fear. "I tried to stop him… he wouldn't listen…" Iro grabbed Ellinor and held her up. Her sword was to Ellinor's throat, and two gaster blasters appeared behind her. Ellinor squeaked with fright, her eyes widened at the sudden threat. "Go on then. what are you waiting for?" Aldrich leaned against a rock, watching impatiently. Iro paused, staring into Ellinor's soul before appearing into Aldrichs. "Isn't this your friend? Your most trusted advisor?"
Aldrich laughed before cracking is whip in sync to the meteors crashing on the city. "What?" He sneered. "She means nothing to me. Look at her, I never cared about her. She was an obstacle in my path, and this is my chance to get rid of her." Iro almost felt pity for the girl struggling in her grip. Her gloves were soaked from the girls tears before she went limp. The will to live… to continue on… was no longer in her soul. Her soul of perseverance was giving up. "Go on then, kill her." Aldrich her. "I would love to watch." Iro never thought she would find his smile so horrendous. Her eyes narrowed as the gaster blasters fired up. It would only take one shot to obliterate her. But Iro hesitated. "Ohhhh right, I forgot," Aldrich rolled his eyes, cracking his whip as he approached Iro, seething. "You've grown soft! You don't want to kill anymore," he mocked with his face and fingers. "You can't destroy your own creations after what happened to the other. You're weak." There was another pause as Iro glanced up at Aldrich… no, this couldn't possibly be the prince she created. He wasn't like this before. He wasn't like this until… Until he met her. "You can't even kill the pathetic soul!" Aldrich slapped his own head. "Look just give her back, fix OuterTale or whatever, and we can go to your next target." Iro smiled and stared at Aldrich. "Fine, onto my next target." The grin was wiped off Aldrich's face when the gaster blasters fired into his chest. Iro whipped out her other sword and lunged for Aldrich, cutting his head clean off his neck. She whipped around and stomped on his skull, bending over and smirking. "You have lost your life privileges, peasant." A slight giggle escaped her throat as her victim's dust covered her shoe. "It's about time I put you in your place where you belonged." Ellinor collapsed onto the ground before finding her footing again. "Thank you…" She sighed. "You're-" She was cut off as Iro was suddenly in front of her, holding her in a choking position once more. Her eyes glowed with fury as she spoke. "Run." Ellinor's eyes widened as she gasped for breath. "Run little one, before I change my mind on sparing your life," Iro hissed, dropping Ellinor to the floor. The girl didn't hesitate to nod and run away as fast as she could. Two bright flashes of light followed from the resetting of the OuterTale Timeline. It didn't take as long as the ghostwriter expected, and it gave her the opprutunity to glance back at the pile of dust she created. "Hmmph," She smirked, stretching. "From dust you were born to dust you will return, amiright?" The silence was pleasing to her ear as she watched the alternate universe string itself back together. "Two down, one to go."

After creating the AU, I found out that the name that I wanted to give to this universe had already been taken by someone. Can you help me think of a name? AU history below
There are no “monsters” in the world as we are used to seeing them; monsters are only people whom fate has endowed with animal-like or fairy-tale features: magic, ears, horns or tails. People are afraid of what they do not understand, so all those who were different or did not fit the criterion of “normal” were expelled to the Underground, depriving them of the opportunity to look at the sun again. Over the years, stories about monsters were only forgotten, remaining only legends passed from mouth to mouth. The souls of the children who ended up in the dungeon were not absorbed by Asgore. Their owners are alive and living peacefully in the underground world. No one went beyond the barrier either, because the fallen children spoke about how they were treated on the surface.
Chara and Frisk always talked about how deadly monsters are. This was drilled into their heads as children. Chara wanted to become a monster hunter to catch these creatures. But after...
Chara and his friend Mark were walking through the forest when they were attacked by a bear. Mark, who was weaker in body, came under the predator's sights. Chara rushed to save his friend, and at that moment, awakening hidden power, the beast was cut apart by a scarlet magical wave. The powers bestowed by the soul of Resolve were awakened. “I’m a monster,” everything that was in the young man’s head at that moment, fear and panic devoured him from the inside, drowning him as if in thick mud.
These thoughts ate up the guy for many days, until, during another brawl with drunken parents, Frisk, like her brother that day, killed her mother, followed by her father, who tried to fight back, and was killed by Chara.
The children understood that they would not have a sweet future here, so by Chara’s decision, the two of them fled to the only place where they could hide with their abilities—the Dungeon.
Finding themselves in the underworld, they find the Fox. She greeted the new arrivals with one phrase: “Just in time.” He took the children to the keeper of the ruins, Toriel, and told them about the laws of this world, telling them about the system of resets and level ups. At the same moment, Chara came up with a very cruel plan. The higher your level, the greater your power.
After a week, when the brother and sister had to leave the Ruins and move on, Chara went on a killing spree, killing one monster after another, leaving only empty corridors. The power of the scarlet soul grew. When only Frisk and Toriel remained in the guy's path, he carelessly killed his sister, the one he so wanted to protect. But the poison that accumulated in him as his level increased did not allow him to leave the matter unfinished, and Toriel also fell after Frisk.
Snowdin greeted the young killer with white snow, frosty wind and...Foxes. Chara ignored the warning about paying for his sins with a grin, moving on. Every monster encountered along the way was killed without pity, all in the name of great power. Even Papyrus, an innocent recruit who was just training to join the ranks of the guard, was defeated by a deft blow of scarlet magic.
Waterfall, where rumors about the guy had already spread, was also completely empty. No pity, no hope. Chara left behind only screams, pain and dust. The fox again tried to reason with him, but the words were successfully ignored, instead she received a warning wave with a knife and a mocking smile.
Step by step, location by location, victim by victim. The soul was filled with determination, and the streets of the Dungeon were filled with dust.
Courtroom, maximum level and no hope. Sans fell, not the first time, thanks to the saves, but still remained behind, like the Great King Asgore. There is no one left. No one. Except Lis.
- It’s a wonderful place, isn’t it? Flowers are blooming... But the birds are not singing. After all, the trial should take place in complete silence - Chara was not going to listen any further
The guy attacked, but every time the Fox won. After thousands of attempts, Chara gave up.
- Sorry - that's all Chara said before the reset.
Time rolled back to the moment the brother and sister got to Toriel. The keeper herself did not remember anything about the past timeline, only a slight feeling of déjà vu haunted everyone like a shadow. Everyone except Chara and Frisk. Ooooh, the girl remembered how her own brother killed her, how she slowly died, and the closest person only looked at her coldly. She was furious. Anger and resentment accumulated throughout this seemingly endless week, until, while walking through the ruins, she was attacked by one of the monsters. Frisk, driven only by resentment towards her brother, killed the attacker, and only when she saw how only gray dust and a feeling of emptiness remained nearby, she realized what it was like. Level up. Chara found out about his sister's act, she, still offended, wrote it off as self-defense, continuing to remind Chara of his sins. Just in self-defense, a couple more daredevils were killed who decided to try their luck in a fight with children. But they know that this is a lie, She knows too. The poison slowly consumed the broken soul.
After leaving the Ruins, the children headed to the city. In Snowdin, Frisk continued her experiment with self-defense; in response to all her brother’s words, she only recalled the past timeline. There was no stopping her.
Standing at the waterfalls, Chara made a last attempt to reason with his sister, but in a fit of rage she accurately attacks him, killing him in an instant. Now he won't bother her.
Location after location, murder after murder. It's just defense. The poison accumulated in the soul, poisoning the mind, making it impossible to think. Many died, neither Sans nor the king could stop her.
It was the turn of the final trial. During the battle, after a hundred deaths, she repented.
“Sorry,” Frisk said with tears of despair, throwing it away.
The world restarted, this time welcoming children at the very beginning. The fox greets his brother and sister again, this time telling him that happiness cannot be achieved by killing, and that they must remember this lesson forever. Both Chara and Frisk felt the horror of the poison that accumulates in souls when you decide to kill, when you see the death of your loved one, when anger and resentment consume your mind. The fox helped the children get rid of this poison, freeing and cleansing their souls.
The world accepted them, Chara and Frisk joined the new society, grabbing the third and last

💔~Broken~💔
Situation: You have confessed your feelings to her but she does not feel the same
Warning: English is not my first language, so there might be some mistakes.
Female reader!
Frisk and Chara are women
Tumblr media
♡ Undertale Frisk
Frisk was a flirtatious and affectionate person with everyone, that was her way of being and she enjoyed expressing her affection to her friends in that way.It was part of his personality. However, she never expected that this way of being would confuse one of her dearest friends.
"I don't know how to say this but... there was a misunderstanding here, I don't feel the same as you".
Frisk felt bad for being inconsistent with his love for her.
If he had, he wouldn't have behaved in a way that confused his feelings.
He hoped this wouldn't ruin their friendship. She really loved you... but as a friend.
♡Undertale Chara
"..."
She didn't know what to say, she didn't feel the same as you.
She never knew anyone could love her. Her personality was difficult, she had a lot of hatred inside her heart, it was simply unimaginable to think that someone could love a person as complicated as her.
Much less someone as sweet as you, you deserve better than her.
"I didn't expect this... the only thing I can offer you is my friendship."
Chara you don't want things to change between you, but if you need to get away from her for your own good, she will accept it even if it hurts her soul.
♡Underswap Frisk
Frisk was a cold person. However, that didn't mean he didn't have affection for those he liked. You were one of those people and that's why he tried so hard to think of a response that wouldn't hurt you.
However, finding nothing, he simply let out his frustrated thoughts.
"Damn...why did you have to make this so hard?"
The only thing Frisk thought about was that their friendship with you was ruined.
♡Underswap Chara
He was someone very happy, he always liked to make friends and have fun. What he loved most was making others happy, however this would be the first time that one of his friends would be deliberately sad because of him.
"What you feel for me is not the same as what I feel for you..."
Chara had a sad expression on his face, he loved you very much but not in the way you would like.
She appreciates you as a friend and it would hurt her to lose you, but if you decide to walk away from her she will understand, even if it hurts her to lose someone as special as you.
♡Underfell Frisk
He is a very shy and somewhat fearful person, so it is a bit difficult for him to make friends. It was you who approached her one day when she was hurt, everyone ignored her except you, you decided to help her.
That was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
He follows you everywhere like a puppy, always clinging to you.
They experienced beautiful things together, they experienced horrible things together, but they always stayed together. It was obvious to everyone the love they had for each other, but only one party saw it through the lenses of romantic love.
The shy girl wouldn't know what to tell you, she is very afraid of losing her friend who has been with her all this time.
You could tell she doesn't feel the same way by the look on her face.
I was afraid. That you wouldn't want to see her anymore. Although even if you hate her for this and leave her, Frisk would never stop loving you, for her you will still be her dearest friend.
"I'm sorry, I don't feel the same feelings as you... I would understand if you hate me... but please don't leave me..."
Frisk could only cry and pray that you wouldn't leave her alone in this cruel world.
♡Underfell Chara
He is a difficult person to deal with, he has been through a lot and the hatred he feels towards humans is not just anything. However, she couldn't help but be attracted to you, you had an innocent aura that surprised her.
She decided to take a chance and give you the chance to be her friend. And it was the best thing he could have done, he loved you and he showed it to you even if he tried not to be obvious. But her love for you was just that of a friend, she hopes you can understand it.
"During this time I have enjoyed every moment with you... but I think you have confused the feeling."
She knows that anything she says won't stop you from suffering, so she tries to be direct despite the pain she feels in her chest from breaking your heart.

Ah yes, gaming the system... This was fun to write what can I say?
@scrambledmeggys
First Day, Previous Day, & Next Day.
Day 21: Gaming
You were bored.
There was simply nothing that needed doing and even if there was, you didn't feel like doing anything in particular anyways. So instead, you'd kidnapped Frisk for an impromptu cuddle session. While they'd protested some and squirmed in your arms, they were no match for your own koala grip and they eventually settled down after a few minutes. It helped that Sans had decided to join you on the couch and watch some tv.
You got a taste of your own medicine though when Papyrus spotted you and Frisk being all cuddly. Whether he'd decided to be a pest or just spontaneously felt like being affectionate, you couldn't tell. What you did know was that now you were stuck as well, something Frisk immediately picked up on by the smirk they flashed you.
Although, this was kind of nice. You reckoned you could count on one hand the number of times you'd been held like this in your life. Papyrus held you close against his ribcage and although his arms were wrapped securely around your body, his grip wasn't uncomfortably tight. Still, it was too tight for you to have any chance of breaking out of, at least for the time being.
While you should've been content to just sit there and enjoy the moment, you were still rather bored. Knowing that you were forced to sit still for the indefinite future, you couldn't help but feel slightly frustrated. Your mind wanted some sort of stimulation but you weren't in the mood to do anything that required even the slightest bit of effort. Not that you could even do that anymore though.
Letting out a frustrated sigh, you tried to shift your body to try and get into a more comfortable position, but to no avail.
Papyrus pressed his teeth to the back of your head and hummed quietly. "Aw, It Seems You Are Really Stuck, Huh?" he purred softly.
You made a quiet grumble of indignation as you realized that he was definitely in the mood to pester you. "I wonder why that is?" you asked sarcastically.
"I Could Not Tell You, Precious," he hummed, being the very picture of innocent.
You squirmed but your efforts to escape were once again futile. In an attempt to free your hands so you could maybe pry his arms off, you let go of Frisk.
That was a big mistake. Papyrus wasn't holding them as securely as he was holding you and they apparently decided not was a perfect time to get some revenge. Frisk turned around and wrapped their arms tightly around your shoulders, effectively keeping you permanently trapped as you weren't strong enough to lift them and Papyrus at the same time.
You sighed and reluctantly surrendered yourself to being cuddled by your two favorite people in the world. It wasn't so bad really, but you would still prefer not to be completely stuck between them right now.
"So, how long are you two planning on committing to this?" you finally asked. "This is nice, don't get me wrong, but I am still bored out of my mind."
"I Am Quite Content For The Moment," Papyrus responded.
Frisk nodded against your collarbone and snuggled even closer to you.
"Could we do something together at least? Like, I dunno, a board game if you guys have any?" you asked.
Papyrus leaned back slightly and seemed to think for a moment. "We Have One, Unless You Count Card Games?"
Sans seemed to perk up at that. "oh, that one," he chuckled and his crimson eyelights seemed to flicker mischievously. He stood up and disappeared, presumably to go get the game in question.
Frisk let go of you and scooted off the couch, but Papyrus made no move to do the same. You turned your head slightly to look at him but he only met your questioning gaze with a smirk.
"Um, we can't play a board game like this, can we?" you asked gently.
Papyrus hummed thoughtfully and nuzzled against your hair. "I Think We Could Figure Something Out..." When you have him an unamused look, he chuckled and added, "But I Think This Board Game Could Make You Very Upset With Me, So I Will Be Nice This Once."
Rather than let you go though, he readjusted his grip on your body and hooked one arm underneath your knees. You immediately realized what he was planning and tried to protest, but he didn't listen.
With basically no effort, Papyrus stood up and lifted you with him, bridal style. You couldn't help but freak out a little and grabbed onto his shoulders to steady yourself.
"I Am Not Going To Drop You, Precious," he chuckled.
You blushed slightly and rested your head against his collarbone. "I...I know! It was subconscious..." you stammered.
Papyrus brought you into the kitchen before setting you down near the table. Frisk climbed into the chair next to you and just as you'd taken a seat, Sans reentered the kitchen with a small box in hand.
You immediately recognized the game as Monopoly and it suddenly clicked as to why Papyrus thought you might be upset later on. The box had sustained some heavy water damage at some point and you noticed many of the pieces were missing, but had been replaced. While you could tell that not all the Chance or Community Chest cards were there, anyone unfamiliar with the game wouldn't have known which ones were included. Otherwise, it was a completely functional game and you couldn't help but admire the obvious effort they had put into restoring it.
"Woah, I guess Monopoly really is the most popular board game if even you guys know how to play," you commented.
"wait, so you know how to play then?" Sans asked as he began setting up the board.
You nodded, "More or less, unless you guys have different house rules. Most people play it the same way but occasionally there are some differences."
He looked thoughtful for a moment before speaking again. "huh, we've only ever played how the rules said to, granted, we've only played a handful of times."
"Then let's do that. The only change I usually make is putting some money on Free Parking that you can collect if you land there."
Once the game was set up, everyone sat down to play. Very quickly, you and the brothers came to an unspoken agreement to go easy on Frisk. Which seemed to be perfectly fine as you could have enough fun being mean to each other anyways.
The brothers played shrewdly, which you had been expecting, and so you had to be especially tricky in order to keep up. Sans was lucky enough to land on Boardwalk in the first round and only a few rounds later, had snapped up Park Place as well. Papyrus seemed intent on collecting the yellow and red properties, which while it made sense, would give him control of an entire side of the board.
You couldn't have that...
So, you pulled out every trick in the book. Once you'd managed to collect Kentucky Avenue, it was simply never getting traded, even if you had to mortgage other properties to pay rent. You made sure to auction every property you landed on too, except for the cheapest properties of course. You also may have distracted the brothers every now and then to get out of paying rent. That one made them especially annoyed once they realized what you'd done.
Frisk was just content to travel around the board and buy anything they landed on. This included three of the four railroads and enough of the other colours to almost make a rainbow. You totally weren't going easy on them to make sure they had a good chance at winning.
After about an hour, they were in fact winning, having become a railroad baron, owning both utilities, and two property sets with a house on each.
Papyrus was somehow still missing Kentucky Avenue and no matter what he offered, you'd turned him down everytime, much to his annoyance. It was the only property he needed to complete his collection and let him buy houses for the red colours.
Sans had sunk everything into Boardwalk and Park Place, having put a hotel on both. He was constantly boasting that anyone who landed on either property would have to fork over everything. However, he didn't have a lot of cash himself and you knew it was only a matter of time before he would go bankrupt.
You weren't doing too badly, although you definitely weren't going to win. Still, you had been particularly irritating to both brothers so you counted that as a win in your books. You had two property sets and had managed to put two houses on them, but you'd had a string of bad rolls that had kept you in and out of Jail for the last several turns. That was a good thing though as it meant that you were drawing the game out longer.
There was one more thing you could do though...
As soon as you'd managed to get out of Jail again, you turned to Frisk and decided to make them an offer. "Hey kiddo, wanna make a trade real quick?" you asked, trying your best to keep a poker face.
Frisk tilted their head curiously. "What kind of trade?" they signed.
"Let's see..." You scanned over your properties for a moment in an attempt to make it look like you were making a big decision. "Tell you what, I'll give you Kentucky, Baltic, Mediterranean, Oriental, Vermont, and Connecticut Avenue."
Frisk glanced down at their properties and then back to you. "I'm not trading my railroads..."
"Sorry, I wasn't done..." You slid your properties over to Frisk before dropping all your money on top as well. "I'd like one dollar..." You'd barely finished speaking when both brothers protested angrily.
"you can't do that!"
"Come On! You Are Not Serious..."
You finally broke and a wide grin carved itself across your cheeks. "The rules don't say I can't and it's entirely up to Frisk to accept," you answered sweetly.
"i don't believe this..." Sans grumbled and buried his skull in his hands.
Papyrus shook his head and muttered, "If You Are Giving Up, This Is An Unnecessary Way To Do It." He seemed less annoyed than Sans and more in disbelief or awe that you would actually offer such a trade.
Frisk smiled and pulled a five out of their bank. Handing it to you, they signed, "Keep the change."
"Pleasure doing business with you, kiddo," you said and pretended to blow a kiss off the bill.
Next turn though, you predictably landed on one of Papyrus' properties and had to give up the five. He was somehow disappointed by this though, even though he had technically bankrupted you.
The game ended not long after that when Frisk upgraded all your former houses to hotels, only to have Sans land on one of them. For a moment, no one said anything and he just stared at his properties. Then, he silently began counting out what cash he had, when that didn't come close, he began to sell off his hotels, then he had to mortgage both properties.
Frisk was grinning the whole time and when he paused for a moment to survey his lack of options, they held their hand out expectantly.
"hey, hey, i get it, buddy," he muttered quietly. You could feel the sheer frustration in his tone but he wasn't freaking out like you had expected.
Papyrus chuckled and leaned over to him. "Looks Like No One Actually Landed On Either Of Your Properties, Huh?" he asked teasingly.
"shut up..." Sans growled under his breath.
Papyrus didn't say anything else but his grin was definitely rivaling the Cheshire Cat right now. You grinned as well and poked him under the table with your foot.
With a heavy sigh, Sans finally gathered up all his properties and dropped them into Frisk's open hand. "fine..." he muttered. Although, he then turned and shot you a silent glare, but you merely shrugged innocently.
While Frisk was rearranging everything on their side of the table, you noticed Papyrus was examining his properties as well. "I Think That Means Frisk Has Won," he finally concluded. "If I Land On Any Of Their Properties This Turn, I Will Not Be Able To Pay Either."
Frisk dropped what was remaining in their hands and covered their mouth in surprise. They glanced between everyone before hopping off their chair and doing a little impromptu victory dance.
You chuckled as you watched them lap around the kitchen. "And that, is why my family banned Monopoly in our house..." you said with more than a little glee in your voice.
The brothers simultaneously groaned in defeat as Frisk threw themselves at you in a fierce hug. You were glad their first time playing had gone so well for them and you were especially happy to have trolled the brothers as well as you had. Unfortunately, you probably had lost any future chances at playing Monopoly with them again too.

perhaps.... flowey and/or undyne?
(very tempted to ask about asgore but)
hi! this is several months late! i apologize!
ask game
anyways, i’ll start with flowey
first impression
not too different from most of the fandom’s impression of him. little more than a weird two-dimensional villain character. i didn’t even realize that he is not a separate person from asriel for a good while. like, come on. there was a whole dramatic twist and everything. it should not have taken me as long as it did. (the fandom didn’t exactly help though -_-)
impression now
he is my favoritest boy in the whole entire world and, in my opinion, the best character in the game (though chara is still my personal favorite). it’s sad to see him get watered down to just “evil flower” and “poor little goat kid”, cause there’s so much more to him. he’s a fantastic character and he means so much to me.
favorite moment
i can’t chose between these:
“…why are you being……so nice to me? I just can’t understand…”
“I’m not ready for this to end. I’m not ready for you to leave. I’m not ready to say goodbye to someone like you again…”
in the true route you don’t have to forgive him, but you can still comfort him
when he talks to “chara” when you try to reset after the true ending, showing that he truly cares about frisk and the others and that he’s grown as a person and that he’s ready to say goodbye to his lost sibling
when he takes care of toriel in the ruins
matching red scarves
idea for a story
sometimes i wonder what would happen if he ended up being the sole surviving dreemurr and the king of the underground… hmm.
on a more lighthearted note, i would really like to see him form a sibling bond with undyne as well as frisk. it would absolutely melt my metaphorical heart. big sister undyne my beloved <3
unpopular opinion
flowey is NOT emotionless! where the heck did people get that idea???
Tumblr media
hello???? he is THE MOST emotional character in the game!!
him staying a flower isn’t a bad ending for him. and not being able to feel love doesn’t make him any worse or less of a person. he doesn’t need to be ‘fixed’. he needs support and guidance. the only thing i think could happen if he suddenly returned to his original form is cause him to panic because he’s not ready to let anyone else (especially his parents) know who he is. i don’t think either ending is worse exactly. they both have a lot of potential that often sadly falls by the wayside because of common perceptions of ‘flowey’ and ‘asriel’ that wouldn’t be so pervasive if people had a better understanding of his character. so anyways, yes. it is okay that flowey doesn’t feel love. —signed, a real life loveless person
i think the loss of his soul and him being reincarnated as a golden flower is a metaphor for how his grief/trauma/actions/etc. have changed him as a person rather than him. literally being a different person. others have said it better than me, but, like, the only time he kinda separates himself from his past identity is in the true route, and i think he does it mostly out of shame. he wanted ‘asriel’ to be remembered fondly and put to rest because he can never again be that same sweet, innocent, loving, little boy everyone knew him as. if his parents found out who he was and what he had done, surely they’d be devastated and disgusted with him. if chara was alive to see what a disappointment of a friend and brother he was, surely they would be too. why would they not? he can never redeem himself. he can never be worthy of mercy. (he just can’t understand). so he plays the villain, the sinner, the good-for-nothing, the miserable creature, the one who came back wrong, because he just can’t reconcile himself with the fact that he’s still that same person, just changed and evolved over timelines. frisk has seen who he is. the good, the bad, and the ugly. and yet they still see him as a person, worthy of mercy and a second chance at life, despite everything (it’s still you)
favorite relationship
i’d say the ‘relationship’ between him and the player (aka: me specifically because flowey is already supposed to mirror the protagonist, but he and i have so much in common it’s scary so that makes things really interesting) but i dunno if that counts, so i’ll say his friendship with papyrus.
favorite headcanon
one of my favorite flowey headcanons is that the first soul rebellion in the omega flowey battle was staged. it just adds a whole nother layer to fight.
also the headcanon that he needs glasses. the world needs more pictures of flowey wearing glasses.
now undyneeeeeeee
first impression
i always thought she was cool, though i wasn’t as invested in her character because i was more focused on other characters (papyrus and chara to be exact)
impression now
she is totally awesome and definitely one of the coolest characters in the game, but i’m starting to realize and appreciate more and more that she is not larger than life. she has her own flaws and insecurities that make her complex and real. it took me while for me to get a feel for her character, but this fic series certainly helped a lot. it’s one of my all time favorites and i highly recommend it (heed the warnings though. it gets pretty rough)
favorite moment
ah. this is. another really hard choice.
that moment of cognitive dissonance when frisk gives her water after she collapses from the heat
the scene where frisk visits her house and she slowly begins to realize that she might be wrong about them and lets her guard down and opens up to them
at the end of the undying battle when she’s on the verge of death but still smiling triumphantly
those are just the ones off the top of my head. there’s probably more that i’m forgetting. she’s got a lot of great moments
“Don’t ask me what a grooty is!”
idea for a story
i really want to know her origin story. where did she come from? who were her parents? what was her childhood like? i am putting my hands on her shoulders and i am shaking her like a rag doll. i want to know. everything.
unpopular opinion
she absolutely should have been the fan favorite instead of sans. i don’t know what happened but i am very confused as to how she isn’t way more popular than him. no hate to sans by the way. he’s a great character and he deserves to be popular. undyne is still outrageously underrated and i will never not be mad about her getting overshadowed and watered down by the fandom at large.
favorite relationship
man i dunno. i’m stuck between papyrus, alphys, and asgore (i also think her and toriel’s dynamic has so much underutilized potential).
favorite headcanon
my favorite headcanon about her is that she’s autistic. because she is. so autistic. and you cannot convince me otherwise.
yes thank you i am grateful for any excuse to talk about asgore
first impression
i didn’t really think about him all that much, but it always made me sad when i saw people hating on him or treating him like a joke. i knew he wasn’t the greatest person, but he wasn’t a bad person either. i always liked his design too. very nice and fluffy.
impression now
………this man has been plaguing my adhd-ridden mind for the past year and BY GOLLY has it been a miserable experience for all parties involved. if i’m being completely honest here, out of all of the characters from undertale and deltarune, asgore has had the most emotional impact on me. haha. you’d THINK it’d be chara, or flowey, or… hell, even berdly! BUT NOOOO, KING FLUFFYBOY HAD TO CAUSE ME MORE EMOTIONAL DAMAGE THAN ANY OTHER FICTIONAL CHARACTER BARRING GOD HIMSELF. and, yes, most of that emotional damage was because of that one scene from that one neutral route (which i’m still not sure if i’m ready to talk about directly), but also because of literally everything else. literally everything about this guy makes me want to burst into tears. and part of what makes his story so painful for me is that i relate so many of his struggles. i’ll spare you the details, but i just see SO MUCH of myself in him, and it means so much to me to know that he gets better. pain and suffering aside, i just think he’s a really fascinating character and i care about him a lot.
favorite moment
okay, at first i thought of the moment where he destroys the mercy button (which is still a phenomenal moment) but, then i took a good look at another scene.
in his regular battle, he bows his head, hiding his face in shadow, resolved to kill or be killed, but giving frisk every chance he can think of to ensure that they are not the one who is killed.
but in his lost soul battle, frisk looks him in the eyes and promises him that they won’t hurt him. no matter what. that moment shakes me to my very core.
idea for a story
i really want to explore what would happen if frisk were to absorb his soul and cross the barrier to find a way free monsterkind peacefully.
unpopular opinion
asgore is not a Hawaiian-pattern shirt guy. he is a floral-pattern shirt guy.
favorite relationship
him and chara!! (him and frisk is a very close second) i LIVE for the parallels.
favorite headcanon
i like to think that he became king at a really young age basically right after the war happened and his parents left huge shoes to fill. i mean, his tendency to laud his children as the hope for everyone’s future when they weren’t ready for the responsibility had to have come from somewhere, right?
(i don’t think he was a child king, but i can’t see him having been more than a young adult when he was coronated. old enough that it would have been legal, but young enough that he was still grossly underprepared and largely depended on others for guidance in executive decisions. writing laws and giving orders had never been his forte. his strengths lied more in giving speeches, helping with manual tasks, providing moral support/comfort/encouragement, connecting with his people personally. he was always very good at being part of a community, but he was never an excellent ruler)
okay i’m tired byeeeeee
i really want to explore what would happen if frisk was to absorb his soul and go to the surface in search for a way to unite humans and monsters and break the barrier. i have a whole bunch of ideas for this, but unfortunately i have so many other works in progress that starting on this now will just add to the ever-growing pile
Unpopular opinion
asgore is not a hawaiian pattern shirt guy. he is a floral pattern shirt guy. i said what i said. feel free to unfollow me for this /joking
Favorite relationship
him and chara (him and frisk is a very close second). i live for the parallels
Favorite headcanon
i like to think that he was became king at a young age pretty much right after monsters had been imprisoned underground and his parents left huge shoes to fill. i don’t think he was a child king, but i can’t see him being more than 18 or 19 when it happened. i mean, his habit of lauding his children as the hope for everyone’s future when they weren’t ready for the responsibility couldn’t have come from nowhere, could it?

The Concierge Attends A Meeting (Part 12)
The Continental is housed within an old, old building. One brought to the modern age with all the elegance of an old movie star ageing gracefully.
But one thing that one cannot do with an old building - make the elevator shafts bigger. At least, not without difficulty. And you never thought you’d have to.
“Shall I take His Highness and Captain Undyne first?” You feel your brows furrow as the massive King of Monsters stuffs himself into the comparatively small elevator along with his bodyguard. You’re not amused. Not in the slightest, not--
No you’re definitely suppressing a smile.
Fairly successfully, given that both monsters don’t grumble more than is expected from stuffing both of themselves into the lift, or from Papyrus wanting to shove himself in there too.
“NO, WE ARE FINE. COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY FINE.” Oh dear, you should not enjoy seeing poor Papyrus squished between the enormous King Asgore and the broad-shouldered Undyne. Although clearly Sans and Frisk don’t share the same sentiment.
“good thing you’re skinny, boss, otherwise you’d never fit,” Sans snickers from where he stands behind you, not even remotely willing to get into the same elevator.
I think the lift is at its weight limit. Frisk tugs at your pants and signs, their eyes dancing with glee.
Sad to say, that is indeed the case. You may have miscalculated how heavy the King and his Captain were. Though Papyrus weighed little, considering he is all bones.
You nod down at the young-but-old human ambassador. “I am afraid that is the case,” you look back up at the three colossal monsters with a mildly concerned expression. “The Manager will receive you at the rooftop terrace, Your Highness.”
“M-much obliged,” the King says with a sheepish smile, rounding his shoulders to make them...only marginally smaller, his head tucked between them so his horns don’t scratch the walls.
You have to squeeze an arm in to press the right buttons, but press them you do and up goes the elevator after both doors close.
“didja get a picture?”
A blink. A moment. Then you look down at Frisk who smiles up at you innocently. Sure did.
The smile that quirks up your still lips is not one that you can suppress. “Leverage, Mx Frisk?”
You got it.
“send it to me, that’s hella good blackmail material.”
The elevator takes a while to come back down - perhaps the three monsters had a hard time extricating themselves - but eventually you usher both of them in there. It was your intention to send them up and on their way, leaving you to go back to your post at your counter, but Sans stops you.
“not comin’ with, sweetheart?” he asks, hands in his pockets. Your hand remains on the elevator doors, stopping them from closing.
“I am not required for your meeting, Mister Sans,” you say with a slight tilt of your head.
Frisk seems to catch onto Sans’ meaning and makes a small noise, the first that you’ve heard from the young-but-not child. Not that I’m doubting the Manager’s authority in her own hotel, but she might feel better having someone by her side?
You take a moment to stifle the sudden urge to snort. The Manager is not likely to ‘feel better’ having you by her side. But...
“just come up with us. if ya don’t get an order to stay, you can go,” Sans shrugs and leans against the wall, nodding to the elevator door. “you’re holding the lift up, by the way.”
Why that little--
“Very well.” You incline your head to hide the side-eye you give the smug skeleton. The slight heel of your shoes click on the marble floor, the metal sound of the cage door sliding closed, and then the comparatively softer sound of the elevator closing.
As you stand at the buttons, with Frisk and Sans standing some space apart, you come to the realisation that those three monsters should not have been able to squeeze in here as they did. It is a roomy elevator - of course it is, it’s a luxury hotel, but goodness.
Ding goes the elevator bell. There is a small ruckus as you help to slide the cage door open, drawing the attention of the four others scattered across the tastefully decorated rooftop terrace.
All around, the glimmering lights of a never-sleeping city twinkle like stars in the dark, the rooftop of the hotel high enough that only the light of the fire and the scattered lamps provide illumination. In the dark of night, the city seems like a different place. As if the hotel stands apart from the rest of reality. Separate. Isolated. A world hidden within a world.
“Mx Frisk, Mister Sans,” the Manager lifts a cup of tea at them from where she lounges on the loveseat next to the fireplace. Then she looks at you, and her smile stretches just a little bit more. “My Heart.” It is a verbal affection. A silent order.
All the monsters, plus Frisk, stare at you then.
Sans looks at you with a quizzical expression. ‘My Heart?’ he mouths at you.
To which you do not respond. Your back is straight, your shoulders level, your posture perfect and proper as you stride to the Manager’s side to stand behind her sofa, hands folded over your belly.
Ignoring Sans look, all of their looks, you take up the teapot and offer it to the Manager silently. She turns her head up at you, smiles that secret smile that you take to mean that all is well, and nods. “Would any of you care for a drink as well?” The question is directed to the rest.
For a brief moment, there is no noise but for the sound of you bustling around and bringing drinks and offering serviettes. Though soon enough, even the King tires of the propriety of it all.
“Thank you for agreeing to meet us,” he speaks regally as expected of one of his station. “I deeply appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule.”
The Manager crosses her legs, teacup gracefully held in the fingers of one hand. “But of course,” she purrs, not even batting an eyelash at the overtures. “It would be remiss of me not to extend a welcome to those who are interested in becoming a member of the Continental.” Then she gestures with her teacup to all of King Asgore. “Even more so to those who so newly call our city home.”
Undyne stiffens where she stands behind King Asgore, her fins fluffing like a cat’s hackles. And yet she stays silent, and so do you, despite how your hands drop to your sides in readiness.
“Not just the Continental, Miss, but the--”
“High Table,” the Manager interjects before King Asgore could complete his sentence, completely unrepentant at the slight. It seems the King takes it in his stride, despite that. “I’m aware.”
He inclines his great, horned head. “Yes, the High Table. The ultimate authority of the criminal underworld.” Thick fingers lace together between his thighs, the expensive fabric of his suit straining at his biceps. “And by extension, the Surface. Feared and respected by all, to sit at the Table is to rule the world.”
A glint of understanding tints the Manager’s eyes. Your chin tips down slightly in disappointment.
“Ah, power,” she purrs, finishing the last dregs of her tea. The porcelain cup hits its saucer with a gentle clink, freeing her hands. “Well, though the Continental shares ties to the High Table, I do not have a seat. No manager does.” Her palm faces upright in a gesture of ‘what can you do?’. “As management, I agree to the rules of the High Table. But the High Table agrees to our rules in turn. A...symbiotic relationship, one can say.”
Uncrossing and crossing her legs again, the Manager tilts her head to the side, eyeing the King carefully. “You want protection for you and yours. This world is too much like the one you know so well, and you know the one place you will find such strength is in the ruling council.”
From the way the King exhales slowly, you know the Manager hit her mark. The bovine monster seems to consider her words, the way he stares briefly into space indicating that he is thinking. His entourage, too, remains quiet.
Frisk, bless that young-old thing, pads forward to sit at a couch adjacent to both rulers. In the middle. An ambassador, truly.
You’re saying there’s no real way to get a seat at the High Table.
The Manager follows their hands carefully. “I’m saying that no one earns a seat at the High Table. Not so easily, not without blood. Or stepping on toes. Or making powerful, powerful enemies. You gain little from trying to ease your way into that world using my reputation.” Smiling coyly, the Manager leans her cheek on a fist, “They say that to attract a spirit is to call their name. To attract a devil is to stir their interest.”
A long finger dances up to painted lips, pressing against them in a universal gesture of silence. “Be careful what you wake, gentlemonsters. What stirs will take, and take, and take, until you have naught left to give. And when you have nothing, they will take you.”
Silence reigns for a heartbeat. Then two.
Your hands ache.
“I thank you for your counsel,” the King says at last, his observant, uncomfortably warm eyes lock with the Manager’s.
The Manager inclines her head. “That’s not to say I cannot grant you membership to the Continental,” she says, gesturing to them with the same hand she had leaned on. “You might find it helps you, or hinders you. Either way, I offer a gateway into the world you wish to enter. Whether you find what you seek, or we sweep up the dusted remains of your Family, is still unknown.”
A wink, then. “Welcome to our beautiful city, gentlemonsters.”
With her piece said, the woman reaches over to pour herself some tea; you do not move to help, your eyes still locked on the monsters while the Manager’s attention is divided. Or rather, just Sans.
Sans who looks like he wants to grind his teeth so badly. Sans who looks up at you with a question in his eyes. Sans who looks disappointed by the shake of your head.
As much as the Continental had an understanding with the High Table, it still sits under the Table. Serving the Table. If the Table thought that the Manager was making a move against them, plotting to take more power...
No, that would not end well.
Best to stay neutral.
You had learned the hard way what it was like to stand against an unstoppable force.

Forgotten Perseverance - Chapter 2
After telling the story of Bravery, Sans tells how one day he went to the Ruins. As a kid he often went there. He loved the place because it was mysterious and beautiful, even if it had been abandoned years ago. But this trip was completely different from all of them.
Curious to know who Sans met in the Ruins? Will his father, W.D. Gaster discover where his son is sneaking off to?
Proloque Previous
Don't worry, Frisk. Even so, it has a lot to do with Katharina's story. Many monsters lost loved ones back then and ignited a hatred for humans, or at least a resurgence of it. In the end, it was humans who locked my race underground. Over the years I have to say that I did not feel hatred towards Kath. Rather a strong dislike and a desire to keep her at a distance. Children don't know what hatred is.
A feeling so strong that you want something bad to happen to that person.
A feeling so overwhelming that these thoughts refuse to leave your head.
A feeling so overwhelming that some people find it difficult to shake it off.
Children don't know what hate is as long as they are innocent. When they don't yet understand how the world works, they won't understand what hate is and the emptiness it brings with it. I didn't hate Katharina or other people despite what they did to us. Even if there are people who deserved to be hated somehow I never wanted to believe that there is only evil in people or monsters. Nevertheless, my brother is Papyrus, but back to my story.
After lunch with my brother, I decided to go to Ruin.
"Sans, are you sneaking off to Ruin again?" Papyrus asked me as I stood in the doorway.
Lying somehow didn't bother me, it didn't cause me great remorse. If I knew that someone would feel bad if he knew the truth, I didn't tell them or I bent it a bit. The case was different when I cheated on my brother or father. The former made me feel very guilty, while the latter knew me inside out. He knew when I was lying....
“To Grillbie," I replied.
I could feel my lie creeping up my back. Papyrus couldn't know I was going to Ruin. I didn't want him to worry, and Grillby was a good excuse. He was three years older than me. The boy often helped his father in the bar. In the future he wanted to take over the bar and tried to impress his father.... I know something about that. I wouldn't call him a friend, but a good mate with the same problems with his father.
I used to go over to talk to him, walk around the Underground. For a fire monster he liked winter and snow. Such a bit ironic, but what can I say. I always knew I could trust him, but when I was a kid I couldn't tell him everything. He didn't tell me everything either, sometimes we just liked to have the knowledge that the other one would just sit next to us in silence.  Now I have no secrets from him.
“You don't lie to me? Father forbade you to go there, after what happened last time," continued Papyrus.
I sighed heavily.  Sure enough, I remembered. A fracture of the elbow bone with displacement. My father didn't let me forget it for a long time. I was grounded for two months. I only went to school anywhere else. My astronomy books were also confiscated. Father knew what punishment to give me so that I would not go to Ruin for a long time. Six months... That's how long I wasn't there.
"Don't you have a skele-ton of homework?" I asked with a smile.
“I hate your jokes!” stomped that Papyrus angrily. “I'm going to my room!”
How to avoid Paps' annoying questions? Tell a joke. That always works. Even today.
I took my blue fleece and went outside. Skeletons felt temperature changes differently. I could not walk in a winter jacket. Only after a few hours would my body felt cold. Only, I liked my fleece because I got it for Christmas from my father.
On the way to the Door of Ruins, I met some monsters. They didn't pay much attention to me. Parents were picking up their kids from school. Others were returning or just going to work.
I quietly made my way to the Door. Huge gates in the rock. I had to use a lot of force to open them. I left them slightly ajar so that I would have no problem opening them again. I found myself in the old part of the Underworld also known as the Old City.
I found myself on an escarpment towering over the Ruins. A compelling view stretched out before me. Old houses overgrown with ivy. It was coming out of the windows, doors and every little crevice. Some houses were rendered roofless by huge trees. Streets that used to be printed, now had grass growing out from between the cubes. Tree roots overlooked the road, distorting it. A beautiful sight, breathtaking. You'll probably admit I'm right, eh?
I walked quickly down the rocky steps. They were wide, surrounded by a railing. A little rusty, but still stable. I had no problems in the City either.
This time I didn't go into the flats. It was in one of them that I broke my bone. There is nothing to tell I went up to the floor and the floor was scarred. Rather needless to say how it ended....
The city visible from the escarpment seemed endless, but it didn't really compare to the Capital. It took me just over an hour to cross the city. The worst part of the whole journey appeared - corridors with traps.
Some traps were simple and some were almost impossible to do. Unless one uses a little magic.
I just tried to pass one such trap. It involved getting across a footbridge that was over a gusty river. But that wasn't the problem, it was the spikes that were sticking out.
When someone stepped on the slab, the spikes would slide out. The switch was on the other side of the river. On top of that, the plates were extremely sensitive.
I was not stupid. I hadn't wasted six months sitting at home, I was just learning magic. I put my hand out in front of me. I summoned my magic. A blue glow appeared around my hand. All I had to do was surround the switch with magic. The blue magic enveloped the switch and.... It worked!
My training paid off. I stepped carefully onto the first plate.  I heard a click. The spikes did not slide out. I sighed with relief. Somehow I didn't see myself becoming a bonehead. What? Not enjoying it?
I had taken a few steps forward when I heard someone shouting. This surprised me greatly, as it was coming from the corridor behind me and not from the Flower Chamber.
I quickly ran to the previous chamber.
"Sans! Help!" I heard Paps shouting.
I looked around the chamber. The floor was mostly covered with red flowers. Papyrus must have climbed onto the flowers, activating the trapdoors beneath them. I ran to the edge. My brother was struggling to hold onto the edge of the slab. People would say they could feel the adrenaline rising in their veins. But I... I have no heart...  Although I felt something similar. A shudder went through my bones. A shiver of fear for Papyrus. I saw his tear-drenched companion. A veritable horror overwhelmed him. He was barely holding on to the edge with his little hands. I had to act. Without thinking much I grabbed his wrists. I started to pull him upwards. But he was too heavy... His hands slowly slipped from my grasp. I was frantically thinking what to do. And what a fool I was! Magic! I immediately focused my energy on Paps. I thought it would be difficult. And it was. A blue glow surrounded my brother. That was the easiest stage. Now we had to move on to something more challenging. I had to concentrate much more than at the switch. I pulled Paps up slowly, assisted by magic. I could feel all the strength draining out of me with every passing moment. I succeeded. I pulled him up.
Papyrus lay weeping beside me. Out of the corner of my eye I glanced at him, falling to the ground in exhaustion. I had used too much magic that day. At several traps and rescuing Papyrus. I was breathing heavily, wondering how the young man had managed to get through the corridors without using magic. On the other hand, I had no reason to wonder. He always had a head for riddles. A little genius, as Dad used to say. I, on the other hand, preferred the shortcut - magic.
"Why did you come here?" I asked Paps when my breathing had calmed down. I felt immensely exhausted. I wanted to sleep terribly.
"I could ask you the same thing," replied Papyrus looking at me reproachfully. Tears were still streaming down his cheeks. I raised my hand, picking at his tears. I quickly grabbed his skull, pulling him towards me. I smiled, looking at my brother, cuddling into me.
"You got me brother. " I rose to a sitting position, still hugging Paps. "We'd better go home now." Papyrus hearing these words, stood up ready to go. "But remember not a word to your father. "
Paps nodded his head. He didn't want to worry Paps additionally either.
Suddenly the young... How to say it... People would say he turned pale with fear.... But we have no skin... You could say that his eyes widened in surprise as well as fear. He looked as if he had seen something really frightening.
"Paps, what did you..." I did not finish because I felt someone's hand on my shoulder. I had a bad feeling about this. I slowly raised my head to see this someone.
"What are you not to tell me?" said my father in a stern voice as I poked my head upwards. The only thing I could think of was that we were going to have a really bad time. "You'd better explain to me what YOU are doing HERE? "
"Are we sightseeing?" I said uncertainly standing up.
"Sans! Don't lie! I can see what's going on!" raised my father's voice at me.
"But nothing happened to us!" I shouted at my father.
"Weren't you taking Papyrus out just now! I saw you a few moments ago!" shouted my father. "Sans! What if he had fallen! And you with him! Did you even think about it when you took him with you!"
"But I... "
I was arguing with my father at the time. We were both very involved in our argument. We were shouting at each other. We were gesturing at each other. If either of us had noticed Papyrus walking away at the time....
Maybe things would have looked different. A few minutes later we heard someone shouting.... A bang... And then Papyrus.
"Papyrus!"
My father and I looked at each other. We were full of terror. Paps was in the flower chamber with a man.

Rap BATTLE
Flowey The Flower
VS
Cagney The Carnation
Begin!
Flowey:
Howdy I'm Flowey, Flowey the flower
You really sold your soul for a fraction of power
Thats pathetic and sad so guess you should be
the taller, lesser and lamer version of me.
I controlled lives and caused so much pain
You got tricked by a devil and went down in vain
You'll never get a chance to win against this flower
Taken down by bullets again, this is your final hour!
Somebody ought show you around this place
Even if if you're a total disgrace.
It's time to stop the innocent little facade
And fight me like a real one, you copying fraud
Looking ragged, rejected like a Rosalia
Should I kill the carnation? That's a wonderful idea!
Cross your arms, puff your cheeks out
You just can't believe I already got a KNOCKOUT
Cagney:
You're kidding right?
A little dandelion wanting to fight
Well I'll tell ya what and cut you a deal
Don't wanna make you, lose the feel
Speaking of emotions, which you have none
Just ignoring the fact I'm number one.
You don't have room to talk about no soul
You're stuck and abandoned in some mountian hole
Went back up to save your siblings life
Stabbed in the back just like their knife
Killing and going crazy with your power
Otherwise crying and waiting to cower
I'll let you leave since you're in no hurry
No body can win to the Floral Fury!
Even Chara left you in the end
And you say that they're your best friend?
One more thing if I may?
I'm the one that's a rip off you say?
Well let me plant the hands in the ground
Then well see who's secretly Earthbound.
Flowey:
I dodge your rhymes like a run and gun
Gathered the human souls, now we'll have fun!
I can feel them wiggling inside of me
I can't wait for you to see,
The Omega Photoshop GOD
The ice is thin and now I'll win
The stakes are high and I'm the pin.
This is the true form I revel in
A true advocate for the devil's sin.
I'll put the pedal to the metal
Once RIP you up petal by petal
Not a second too soon to unwind
When you're slashed to bits like a Porkrind.
It's not smart to raise fights with someone you can't mettle,
When you lost to cups related to an old kettle.
No need for you to progress to phase two
Cuz I'll tell you something that you already knew..
I'll be the one to give extreme pollination
To your total domination
Cagney:
Back to you and on the topic
Least my Fandom isn't as toxic
So watch yourself and count the days
As Undertale falls and Cuphead stays
All Indies will soon lose fame
Yours is just dying like Bendy's Game
Sit back and relax and enjoy while you can
I'll be here, and laugh when you hit the fan.
Abandoned by the souls of the fallen
Your Determination is weak so quit stallin
Rise up to power and it's a bit of a risk
You're defeated by a little kid named Frisk
Clearly they step up to the alter
Cuz even your Determination can falter.
You called for help but no one came
You lost this battle and only have yourself to blame.
Nobody cared and nobody will cry
Poor soulless Asriel left there to die.

Hey Battlemaiden! Been awhile! Hope you are well. I need to get caught up so please skip this one if it has been done already. So hypnotical au idea I may have seen elsewhere and wanted to run past you! Monsters arrive above ground, everything goes belly up, monsters easily accused and convicted of things they didn't do, bam, jail time. So we will start off with: What act did your skellies do to land them in hot water with the authorities? Any skellie of choice!
Sans -Stalking, he was just trying to do some odd jobs but some paranoid human thought he was following them. Didn’t help that he would shortcut and then suddenly be in front of where this person was going. He didn’t even see them
Papyrus -Child abuse and Frisk was the child in question. They were just playing an innocent game of tag or something but some Karen called the cops and of course they sided with the human.
Red -He looks menacing and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Everyone in Helldin knew not to mess with the skeleton brothers and one monster was in trouble with some racist humans. Said monster ran into Red and used him as a shield which he stood his ground because he’s used to it. Red got tried for assault even though he didn’t lay a finger on any of those humans.
Edge -Harassment because he’d get into yelling matches with his idiot neighbor who had a camera pointed at the skeletons house. He can get a bit heated but not enough to warrant this charge especially since nothing he did was malicious and others can vouch that his voice is just naturally loud.
Blue - wrong place wrong time Aiding and Abetting / Accessory was Blue’s charge even though he had no idea what had even happened. He literally just happened to ride by on his bike and humans assumed the worst.
Orange -Drug possession. He smokes normally, not illegal substances but he smokes. Someone made the call and the police didn’t care that they weren’t actually drugs, planning to plant some later they just arrested him at the sight of his smokes.
Berry -Domestic Violence, it was assumed he was beating both his brother and the child visitor they sometimes had even though both are just accident prone. With no evidence inside the house except for neither ‘victim’ coming forward it would be hard to get the charges off in the corrupted system.
Syrup -Pretty good at avoiding the law in most situations so he gets charged with something he had no hand in which pisses him off. Like there were so many things that he could have been charged with but instead he gets perjury for something so small it doesn’t make sense.

Omega Flowey
ahhh! I'm scared! I... I I just have to wait it out... wait until they go away!
you called for help...
what? ...but... they look scared too... I... I shouldn't be fighting them! I'll help them wait until the scary thing goes away!
I'm not scared of them! they're just another foe put in my way!
you called for help...
ehh? wait... but they're my oppone-no. not again. I won't be a tool to fight for anyone anymore! you hear me?! I'll protect this person you set me up to face! I won't be another person's pawn!
ok... just have to find somewhere safe... and they're keeping me from that place... I just have to make it through.
you called for help...
huh? wait... wait, why am I fighting them... they want to leave just as much as I do... I'm sorry... I'll help you from here... hopefully you can still trust me...
ehh... oh great... well I can hold out for a while... outlast them. I'll make it though this fight, one step at a time
you called for help...
huh... why am I... oh... this person is up against quite the onslaught... but they're hanging in there just fine... I'll help them weather this storm.
oh! I'm sorry! why am I fighting?! why are you hurting! oh my gosh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!
you called for help...
...they're counting on me... I CAN STOP THIS! ... ... ... oh... good, I stopped the attacks... sorry about that again, I'll help you from now on!
there you are... got you in my sights... seems you're the next one up, I won't miss.
you called for help...
...wait... no, this isn't right... they're innocent! I can't fight them! the one in the wrong is whoever made me raise my gun on an innocent!
well, the next comic is still a ways away, so I'll do another text thing! this is what all of the humans say when they're forced to combat Frisk during the Omega Flowey fight.
see you later!

[spins in an office chair] I have so many thoughts about Frisk and Chara.
They, despite almost exclusively following the Player's command throughout the game, clearly have a lot of personality of their own. While Chara has some biases in their narration, they are aware of what Frisk is feeling, and narrate that as well. The actions and answers the Player chooses are still performed by Frisk in a way that is wholly their own. DeltaRune makes Kris' different ways of responding way more obvious with characters frequently pointing out how they say certain things, but with Frisk mostly the narration points out how they do certain things. And during the New Home segment, as monsters speak, there's a strong implication Frisk is visibly upset, possibly even crying by the end of the monsters' tale (me too, buddy, me too). They stop or move slowly on their own accord sometimes, showing hesitation, fear, uncertainty. Whatever they tell Toriel and Asgore in their respective battles clearly makes them waver. In the True Pacifist Route, it is clear as crystal that Frisk is a compassionate, mischievous, silly, friendly, and determined kid. They do the smallest things with kindness, and even when they run away, they do it with a smile.
And then, in the Genocide Route, all of their personality is gone. I mean. Let's be real, a child that is routinely pushed to kill, kill, kill, erasing one - most definitely already familiar and beloved - face after another, will inevitably become a hollow and mindless tool of destruction. They proceed without the Player’s input, because proceeding and killing is all they know now. They don’t care if Monster Kid gets hurt as they climb their shoulders. They’re not a human or a monster anymore, they are a puppet. This makes the line "It's me, Chara." chilling not because it’s some evil genocidal ghost possessing a poor and innocent baby, but because Chara is all that's left. Killing monsters is what kills Frisk themself. They're a walking corpse piloted around by a Player, that just wants to know what will happen if they go through with this, which isn't that different from the kind of messed up thing Flowey would do. And at that point, even he is afraid of this smiling husk with his best friend's ghost haunting them.
I think the only reason Chara is still arguably a person by the end of this run is because they don’t have a Soul, and it’s heavily implied that Souls are what allows anyone to really feel things. They’re mercifully left detached from that world, which is what allows them to narrate properly, without too much emotion. So, in the True Pacifist Route, they can push past the sadness they would inevitably feel at various points, and help Frisk persist, while still showing how much personality of their own they have. And in the Genocide Route they end up severing the remaining of the threads connecting them to monsterkind, their people, their friends, their family, and become the Player’s helpful partner in wiping the world from existence. Flowey thinks Chara is the Player, Chara thinks Frisk is the Player (until the end of the True Pacifist Route, where both siblings actually learn the difference), and Frisk just wants to get home. By the end of the Genocide Route, Flowey doesn’t care who’s who, he just wants to live, Chara doesn’t care who’s who, they just want to wipe out one world after another, finally having someone that won’t abandon them, whoever or whatever that person is.
UnderTale’s Genocide Route is about many things. Among those things is a sad tale of how two children end up groomed (for lack of a better word) into horrible acts of violence, and how one of them still had a Soul, still cared too much, and ended up broken, and tossed aside, while the remaining other child lost the remains of their humanity, and now considers themself a demon.
