“Today, every day, and on Valentine's Day, I will visit my wife of 56 years. We are separated by her dementia. I will tell her what's been going on outside, as I spoon-feed her in her care-home hospital bed. She says, "Thank you," when I tell her I love her. We both know she would say more, if only she could. We have had a great life together, ever since the second grade. She is slowly leaving, I know that. But we're a pair until then.” I saw this quote on NYT’s post about small acts of love, and I immediately thought of Thenamesh which made me think of you. I know this might be a sensitive topic so feel free to skip this as a prompt if you’re not comfortable, but I do think you could write something not only respectful but absolutely beautiful about this vein of love for our favorite pair. It reminds me of the Notebook too, if that’s at all inspiring! As always, love everything you give us <3
Far out in the Australian desert, there is a house.
It sits completely apart from everything around it. The land is tended to and the house is inhabited despite the arid nothing surrounding it. There is a water pump and an oven, a garden and space to keep goods.
Everyday, a man leaves the house. He leaves with a basket in hand, and he walks under the unforgiving sun. The trip is made in silence, walking for hours. He says nothing, stops for nothing. His journey takes him even further into the desert, further away from everyone and everything.
He walks until he sees a figure on a hill. The figure is all white from a distance, standing out against the sizzling red sands. It remains completely still. Most would even assume it doesn't breathe.
The man sets down the basket first, lowering himself next to the figure. Her hair picks up in the breeze, but he keeps it away from her face. Her eyes are as white as the dress on her back. When the weather turns bad he comes and stands over her, wraps a blanket around her shoulders.
He would fight off the lightning and thunder if he needed to.
He touches his hand to her cheek, to make sure she has warmth in her skin. He checks her eyes, which have not been green in years now. He checks to make sure she's still breathing, that time has stopped for her in a way that leaves her comfortable. He checks that she is still the Warrior Eternal, Thena, his wife.
The Strongest Eternal settles for the time being. He comes and sits with her everyday. Some days it's hours, some days it's only one. He has their home to attend to. He comes and tells her he misses her, what is happening back on their little patch of land. Tells her of the lizards she loved so much running through his garden.
The man pulls over the basket, pulling out some of the mead he has perfected over the years. There's no harm in letting her taste it, now. He pours it into a delicate sipping vessel and brings it to her lips. It is not as if she can expire of natural causes, out here. He can't either.
But he likes to come and share things with her. He's even started taking up her old practice of drawing, although he is certain she would tell him if they were as terrible as he thinks they are. Still, he brings them and shows them to her, one by one. Many are of her.
He eats something for himself, whatever he has made and brought with him. He still cooks because he enjoys it, even if there is no gentle humming at the table or smiles bathed in kitchen window sunlight. She always told him that her favourite part about his cooking was how happy it made him. She wouldn't want him to stop.
He points out clouds to her, asking what she thinks they look like. She would always just say weapons in the past, so now he makes up things like bunnies and monsters and even their family members, in a way. He asks her how they are sometimes, certain that she must be with them. Because he hopes that whatever happens within those completely white shrouds in her eyes, that she is happy, and safe.
He packs up the basket again, preparing to walk home. He tilts her chin towards him. Sometimes he can imagine her lips lifting ever so faintly. He can imagine the smile his wife always had for him. "Hey."
She does not reply.
"I'm heading home," he whispers sweetly to her, promising the next time he will feel most alive instead of the hours in between. "I'll see you tomorrow, sweetheart."
Her head tilts, leaning into his touch just a little more.
He smiles. Because sometimes she's in there--his Thena. He can see glimpses of her in times like these, when she leans into his touch, when her fingers twitch to hold onto him as much as she is able. There are traces of her still there, in the time he feels most alive.
He has no illusions, nor regrets. An Eternal has only the merciless and indefinite future to look forward to. He said they would take that chance, and they did, for almost a thousand years.
He's happy for these moments, and he can live with the hours in between. He leans forward and presses his lips to her forehead. She stopped blinking long ago but he swears he can see her eyes moving when he does this. "See you soon, Thena."
His hand slips from hers, and he sees that little twitch that makes him smile again. The first time he'd seen it, he had stayed for hours and hours afterwards. Now he knows he will see it again.
He walks back down the hill, looking back at her a few times just because he feels like it. She does not move. He knows she will be there tomorrow, and the next day. And if the earth shatters in half the day after then he will come and get her, and he will carry her to a place that is whole. He will carry her to the ends of the earth and sit with her when that end comes.
He would have nowhere else to be.
The man walks back, hours and hours again. The sun shifts in the sky and he makes it back before nightfall. With the dusk oncoming, he can see the light he always leaves on at the house. He follows the same path he walks everyday. He sets the basket down and walks out to check on the garden and the lizards. He makes sure his apron is hung up and his dishes are clean.
He goes to their room, lies down in their bed, and he thinks about his wife. He falls asleep with his hand on her pillow, thinking of her hair trailing onto his shoulder, of her soft breathing and her laughter. And tomorrow, he will go and see her again.
Far out in the Australian desert, there is a home.
It is the home of two Eternals, a husband and wife. They travelled the world together, even saved it, in a way. It was always known that she would leave before him, and they took that chance. They built an entire life out in the arid desert, out surrounded by the sand, surrounded by the sea.
Their home is built at the ends of the earth, and the wife resides further into the nothingness still. And her husband walks to see her, every single day.

I saw you reblogged some pretty Gil gifs. If you write for FGO, could you write the smut prompt 26 for him?
I don't usually write for FGO but I do love Gil a lot. He's a jerk but he is a very charming jerk.

26. “Forget the bed… let’s do it right here.”
No one would question it if they walked in and saw you sitting in the King's lap, half naked and with him sucking on your tits. It wasn't that common of a sight but everyone knew that he was a stubborn one, and that when he wanted something or someone he would have them no matter what he had to do.
You were supposed to help him sort through some papers from the citizens but when his eyes met yours, traveled down your body and beckoned you forward nothing inside you said no, despite the circumstances of where you were. Why would you pass up the chance to finally experience your King's cock?
"You're starting to get hard. Should we take this to your bed, my King?" The fact that you got to touch him like this, run your hands through his golden hair, trace his red tattoos, stare into his crimson eyes as he freed your nipple with a wet pop made you arch your back into him more and push your ass into his hands. There was no need for seduction, he was the one who invited you but to be able to get the King of Heroes this hard was an achievement of a lifetime.
"Forget the bed... let's do it right here." Gilgamesh smirked in between your breasts, licking over the red bite mark around your nipple, "Don't hesitate now. I can practically smell how wet you are for your King. You were practically dripping the moment I told you to stand by my side. I'm not surprised."
"N-Not surprised? Ah!" The slap on your ass echoed through the chamber, "What do you mean by- mn!" He slapped your ass again and again, each slap made you roll your hips over his hard cock until it was at its full height.
"I know everything that goes around in my kingdom. You think you were asked here just to help with my paperwork. Maybe you're not as smart as you are beautiful. Let me be clear: you're here to please me, and I think, based on the fact that you've been fucking yourself every night with my name on your lips, you know exactly how to please a man when you're on your knees." He nodded at you to get down, and who were you to say no to him, the King whose cock you dreamt of every night.
Except that his real cock made the one you dreamt of seem like nothing in comparison. "Have I disappointed you?" You asked, batting your eyelashes at him before you slowly dragged your tongue across his pulsing cock.
"Not at all. I... fuck... know a good mouth when I see it. And yours seems to be very talented. Good for you, getting praise from me." Gilgamesh leaned back in his throne, his cheek pressed against his curled fist, looking down at you as your lips sucked on the tip. "All of it. Now."
It hurt your throat to take him this suddenly but his hand on your head and his happy chuckle made it all worth it.
"Do I taste good? Better then the men you had?" You moaned around his cock, nodding the best you could, "Mhm, they were just practice for you weren't they. All to make you in my perfect cock sucking plaything. I could keep you here through every meeting and no one would say a word about it. I could fuck you in that cunt of yours as well, using you as I see fit, as long as I see fit." The salty taste of cum assaulted your tongue, "Didn't you hear me before? I said all of it. Be a good whore now."
All of it, you had to take all of his cum, all of your King's cum down your throat before he pushed your mouth away and patted you on the head. "T-Thank you, my King, I'm flattered that you'd allow me to-" He pushed your head back down, laughing at you when you choked on him.
"You're gonna be a lot of fun. Let's get that mouth cleaned up and move this to my bed. If I fucked you here you might hurt your back, and you're gonna need to be able to arch it at my command." At his command, you're pretty sure you could come on his command too.

On Hephaestion in Fate
Iskandar’s closest friend…though he didn’t think so himself. While his sister spread such information around, Hephaestion was aware that was simply counter-intelligence. Hephaestion was inserted at Iskandar’s side so as, even if only a little, to reduce the chance of him being attacked. [...]  If alive today, he would no doubt be accused of having a siscon streak in him. In a way, one could say that fear became accurate after his death.
From Hephaestion (person)'s entry in the materials of Lord El-Melloi II Case Files. Very frustrating to read.
I hate what Fate series is trying to do with Hephaestion and Iskandar's relationship, I Know explicitly they're trying to make room for fujo shipbrainrot here by saying essentially that they don't have to worry about it; but there's problems.
Urobuchi and Nasu and etc. have all stated Iskandar is bisexual, there is no way they could've made that judgment unless they explicitly acknowledged the nature of Iskandar and Hephaestion's relationship. The fact is also that the parallels between Iskandar and Gilgamesh and their respective "closest friends" are very blatantly apparent through F/Z and other incarnations that like to put them together and Case Files as a novel itself also hasn't really made any attempt to discredit Hephaestion's importance to Iskandar, either.
It's weird also that they even use the word 'siscon' here because it almost implies that Hephaestion didn't feel anything for Iskandar as much -- which is so fucking bizarre, because Iskandar's love of Achilles and the Iliad has been present during the entirety of F/Z and through FGO and other incarnations, who do you think was Patroclus? Like there is no actual fucking way they could strip that Hephaestion was the Patroclus out. Of course though they have basically all-but erased Patroclus from Achilles' story as well.
The thing though is that this does also imply a lot more Olympias machinations. Because we know Faker was also something that was Olympias' doing, taking Hephaestion's twin sister and molding her into a nameless body-double for curses to be redirected towards in order to protect Iskandar. If that setting is true then yes of course Hephaestion is going to be fiercely protective of her because he's acutely aware that his sister is being used for something so dehumanizing on purpose and she doesn't even care about it; she's also thoroughly stripped of her own mental self-agency in that she's truly devoted to Iskandar and her brother and that's it.
So it can almost be inferred that in the Fateverse that Olympias essentially set up Hephaestion and Iskandar to be best friends rather than it being their choice in Aristotle's classroom -- or perhaps that Hephaestion fit the bill for what Olympias was looking for and so she began manipulating the situation accordingly. Hephaestion has always historically been remarked upon as being the smarter one so I don't doubt he would see Olympias' nonsense with his sister and be upset about it right away. Though, I mean, it's hard NOT to be upset with what Olympias was doing through Alexander's childhood; she poisoned all his siblings, including one that he did care for, she pushed him constantly into the spotlight for the sake of power, she even at one point bought a prostitute for him and begged him to have sex with her because his disinterest in women and sex at that age was something she felt personally concerned with (again, powergrabs, but also, definitely covert incest shit in noble families). The last anecdote I've listed is one that's not stated in Fate series but is something that happened historically.
The question then is whether or not Fate wants to legitimize Hephaestion's feelings towards Iskandar as mutual. It's possible that the phrasing here would imply that Hephaestion merely believed he could not be as close to Iskandar's heart as he truly was; something that, given the amount of personal relationships Iskandar had, isn't a hard thought of self-doubt to keep. Iskandar had many relationships and all were very important to him for many reasons (Ionioi Hetairoi existing makes this obvious). It's just that truly, his relationship with Hephaestion was the Most important, and for Hephaestion to even be relevant in this manner or even discussable in this manner also adds to that.
If Hephaestion was (presumably) opposed to Olympias and protective of his sister, why would he follow Iskandar in the Fate verse, then? The benefit of course being power, which isn't something one would scoff at in this setting, but I truly doubt that Hephaestion would simply go for powergrabs if the whole point is that the people who followed Iskandar did so because they admired him and loved him. But that brings up another point.
Hephaestion has been absent from Ionioi Hetairoi and from character designs or materials despite his significance until the Case Files manga. There has been no depiction of Hephaestion himself in any material featuring Ionioi Hetairoi, the 10,000 strong army of Iskandar, of which features his most important relationships. Faker was also absent. What does this imply?
Faker's absence was due to protest. We know this from information from Case Files. Faker also has the ability as we know from Lady Reines' Case Files to be able to summon Ionioi Hetairoi herself, featuring Iskandar within it. One would presume Hephaestion also has this ability. But why is Hephaestion not there at all?
A few options -
Hephaestion IS there, Waver just doesn't want to talk about him because he's insane in the head or whatever
Hephaestion is there, but in the back or something -- his role being not forefront is the reason why he's in the shadows; something that is remarked upon in historical analysis as to why we know so little about Hephaestion even now. Hephaestion's role traditionally was to do a lot of the "dirty work", and so his position was less favorable to put the spotlight on in comparison to the sun-shining glory of Iskandar.
Hephaestion is not there because of protest, much like his sister.
Hephaestion is not there because he is not that important of a relationship to Iskandar...
Hephaestion is not there because he doesn't truly exist.
I generally feel like I trust Makoto Sanda to not go this route, but there has been (somewhat baseless) speculation that Hephaestion was actually Iskandar's split personality. I Highly Doubt That This Was The Case in Fate series given the way it has treated Hephaestion thus far as a figure, but it would explain why Hephaestion has been a complete phantom in the series and in Iskandar's recollection.
Though I think personally it's more likely that it's 2 or 3, I don't think that it's out of the question for it to be the simply negligent option 1 or the outright ahistorical option 4.
The other question is: why is Fate series so negligent of Hephaestion?
That's easy to answer from certain standpoints -- one is because it gives them more room to make money off of fans that are there from the sheer yaoi market that Isuwei as a pairing as brought in. Like from a marketing standpoint it is blatantly obviously advantageous to simply ignore Hephaestion until the end of time.
The other reason adding on to that is because in terms of representing gay content, Fate series really considers itself to have no liability to do so, especially when there's such a massive fan following for a male/male pairing. The fans make the majority of the content, so TM's work is done, and they can hand off crumbs to people hungry for them and keep fans of the actual historical figures begging for scraps with little things while rewriting it to suit their needs. It's the reason why Achilles doesn't have Patroclus despite the significance. It's also why the genderbends are so predominant; it's what's keeping the money going. In the recent GudaGuda event Takeda Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin's historical homoerotic relationship is explored but the weight of it lessened as Uesugi is not just a genderbend but also one of Takeuchi's designs. So the risk of straight male fan complaints about yucky gay stuff is lessened because Uesugi isn't "really a guy" in Fate here.
Type Moon hasn't really been one to look up to in terms of whether or not they will give realistic male/male representation in pairings; either one side of the pairing or both have to be in a female body, thus leaving what would normally be a m/m pairing as a "safer" yuri f/f pairing (which then benefits their marketing as well as the majoritively male fanbase is easier to sell to).
The problem though is whether or not it is going to mesh with the rest of the story.
As I said from a marketing standpoint it is obvious that ignoring Hephaestion is beneficial. But from a narrative standpoint -- and this is Sanda's challenge -- ignoring Hephaestion forever just doesn't make sense.
There is no Iskandar without Hephaestion. It is impossible to write a story about Iskandar that involves ANY aspect of the historical portion of him without mentioning Hephaestion. And the fact that Hephaestion was mentioned at all was Fate series' first mistake.
Iskandar's materials have him listed as Dhul Qarnayn, aka the Great King mentioned in the Quran as one of the ideal ways a King should exist. The reason for THIS is because of the Persian Alexander Romance. The Alexander Romance is basically a legend-version of Alexander the Great's story in which Hephaestion's presence is very little or just outright absent. It is a fantastical version of Alexander the Great's kinghood in which he performs many great deeds. There are Greek, Persian, Syrian, Hebrew, Ethiopian, Nigerian, Indian, Malaysian, Byzantine and even more chrono-regional versions of this story, and each one features that mysticism that made Alexander the Great into such a worldwide figure today.
It is pretty apparent that a lot of Iskandar's characterization comes also from the version presented in the Alexander Romance. His being Dhul Qarnayn solidifies this. It would have been easy to continue to ignore Hephaestion if they simply continued to go down this route -- the Alexander Romance features little stories featuring him, and glorifies Iskandar into this God-chosen figure, and in some versions, even as a prophet of God.
But in Case Files Faker is introduced and so is Hephaestion as a figure that did exist. Hephaestion is given some material, but never appears, except as a version spoken of by his newly-conceptualized twin sister. (Hephaestion did not have a twin sister in history, but that much should be common knowledge).
Hephaestion's absence then becomes this bleeding, gaping wound in the story, where the writing fails to stick to just one version of Iskandar -- and chooses to also associate with Alexander the Great the Historical version. Hephaestion's absence leaves this hole at the core of a lot of Iskandar's lacking characterization, where we see this vibrant, energetic character full of appreciation and care and love for those around him, except the man he was told to have loved and been close to the most.
And again. Hephaestion's importance to Alexander within history itself cannot be understated. I've mentioned before the sheer amount of money that went into Hephaestion's funeral, the fact that Alexander started executing people who had beefed with Hephaestion before (Eumenes was one such person who narrowly escaped the threat of execution because of his poor relationship with Hephaestion), Alexander executed the doctor who was in charge of Hephaestion and otherwise went on a complete megalomaniacal spree in the 8 months between Hephaestion's death and his own. There was no Alexander without Hephaestion. For Fate to come in and say that Hephaestion did not think he was the closest person to Alexander is to understate the megalomaniacism of the later Alexander's historical life, which strips from the character we are also inferred of through Faker's recollections in Case Files.
Faker often warns about getting too close to Iskandar, stating to Gray "The King is like the sun. Its heat burns away anything that gets too close." For the man who was considered equal to this sun, his absence is like that of a black hole where the rest of Iskandar's character is held. I also accept scraps of Iskandar's characterization here and there from various authors and depictions; I'm not saying I'm better than anyone on that note. But the frustration as an Iskandar fan I have at the sheer lack of consistency is what compels me to write on my own.
I generally have been very trusting of Makoto Sanda as an author to wrap up fine details, and he's generally been very consistent -- the inclusion of Ergo as Alexander IV's repo'd body in Adventures is still messy but the conclusion of Case Files was overall pretty decent. But it would still behoove him to write more on Hephaestion as a character or for the developers to genuinely consider adding in Hephaestion and fleshing him out; otherwise we miss so much of Iskandar and so much of what we think is going on in the Fate version of the Hellenic Empire history because that one piece is missing.

Curse!AU: Ace sweetly suggests that if they doubt his proof, they talk with the *other* existent individual who was at ground zero for the Curse - namely, Gilgamesh.
“If you don’t believe me,” Ace says and stares down Clarus and Gladio, “You’re welcome to take it up with Gilgamesh, I’m sure he’d love the chance to fight a new generation of Shields.”
It’s said sweetly, with a smile on Ace’s face that makes him seem like the epitome of innocence. Like he didn’t just suggest two Shields go and kill themselves.
“That is if my word isn’t good enough,” Ace says, “But your King and Prince believe me - so I wonder if your distrust in me isn’t a sign of distrust in those you’ve sworn to defend.”
Gladio bristles. Clarus keeps a mask of indifference but Ace can see the indignation that flashes through his eyes.
“We trust them,” Clarus disagrees, “We don’t trust you.”
“Normally I’d say you’re right not to. But unfortunately I have a few morals left that demand I ensure my blood family doesn’t die horribly.”

My idea for a potential DEATH BATTLE! #4

Achilles vs. Cú Chulainn (Greek Mythology vs Irish/ Mythology)
Let their anger be known and all warriors shall fear them!
Fighter 1: Achilles, the legendary warrior of the Trojan War.
Fighter 2: Cú Chulainn, the guard dog demigod of the Ulster Cycle.
Wiz: Mythology has given us heroes, monsters, and gods with amazing power.
*insert clips of Marvel's Thor on a Warrior's Madness, Clash of the Titans, God of War's Kratos, Asura's Wrath's Asura, and Troy 2004,*
Boomstick: Yet no one seems to get the memo: do NOT anger them, even if they're human! Chances are, they are NOT just human! He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.
PREFACE: I am really, REALLY sorry for the late post. I tried to make PCBs for a project but for some reason or another, my attempts failed. I got super obsessed and stressed over it and because of it, I lost a night's worth of sleep. Add to it the fact that I've been struggling with my other STEM classes, and I haven't given myself the time to flesh this out. Not only that but starting next week, I'll be taking tests for two weeks. Safe to say that I'll be busy for a long time, so sorry again...
WHY:
Connections:
1. Cú Chulainn's association as "the Irish Achilles".
2. Both were born to a divine-like parent and/or royalty. Achilles was mothered by the sea nymph Thetis and fathered by Peleus, king of the Myrmidons. Cú Chulainn is the son of the god Lug (Lugh).
3. Both have done great deeds but at the cost of their very short lives. This tends to be one of the greater points of comparison between the two.
4. Both are known for their anger and fury. Achilles' most famous bout of anger stemmed from finding out that Patroclus died and Cú Chulainn is known for his battle frenzy (ríastrad, sometimes called a "warp spasm") in which his body becomes contorted and attacks anyone indiscriminately.
5. Both are super strong and are so skilled that they are deemed to be one of the greats of their respective myths. Achilles was said to be necessary for the conquest of Troy and Cú Chulainn was said to be the greatest of the Knights of the Red Branch.
Personal reasons: I can say with little if any hesitation that Season 9 giving us Heracles vs Sun Wukong was a shock to the system. No longer was DB! limited to pop culture's versions of ancient myths as they focused on the original texts and accounts, giving us what could honestly be one of the show's greatest analysis sections. Inspired by this, I thought up a matchup: a three-way battle between Achilles, Cú Chulainn, and Sigurd/Siegfried (I thank Persona 5 Strikers for introducing me to the last two, especially Cú Chulainn) because of how similar they at least appeared to be. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that Cú Chulainn was sometimes called "the Irish Achilles", but I couldn't find any solid connections between Achilles and Sigurd other than the fact they obtained their invincibility from a divine source only to leave a single spot uncovered (Thetis dipped Achilles as a child in the waters of the River Styx, by which means he became invulnerable, except for the part of his heel by which she held him and when Sigurd bathed himself in Fafnir's blood, a leaf had fallen and stuck itself on his shoulder). However, I encourage others to idea up MUs using Sigurd, Gilgamesh, Beowulf, Rama, and figures from Aztec, Mayan, and Native American mythos. We need more myth matchups that aren't just Greek figures. I have at least one more matchup for the Greek itch. I had a different matchup that could likely be Halloween-themed, but it's unique, to say the least, and would require a very different analytical lens due to the source material. Not only that, but the source material could be to the disinterest of some, even if unlikely.
THE FIGHT:
Art and animation: This one will likely be a 2D sprite fight like Heracles vs Wukong. It would have an aesthetic like that of a storybook or tapestry to separate it from HeraKong's scroll and brush aesthetic. It would be best to not have a narrator again, or at least to not have the ending spoiled by the narrator if there is one.
Possible setup:
Both heroes are on their paths to glory, having emerged from battles with nary a scratch. Cú Chulainn is riding on his chariot, thinking of his lovely Emer, but Achilles is still mourning his dear Patroclus. They see each other and prepare for battle. Warriors need no reasons to fight other than glory and survival. On their chariots, they charge into battle.
FIGHT! :
1. Both warriors used their spears to slay the charioteers and horses and were successful. They leave the chariots and start using their spears, resulting in parries and attempts to use their swords as well.
2. Both warriors slowly pick up their paces, but Achilles is able to successfully parry and even disarm Cú Chulainn. Cú Chulainn then attempts to strike from afar using his slingshot. Achilles uses his shield, but Cú Chulainn is able to get some shots in, including near his heel. Achilles slightly staggers, and Cú Chulainn takes notice, but Achilles only lets out an angry war cry and lunges forward like a bull.
3. Achilles closes the gap by throwing his spear and impales his enemy. However, Cú Chulainn lets out his own war cry and becomes horrid and deformed. Achilles is not taken slightly aback by the monster, and attempting to hurt the warp-spasming warrior is hit very hard and launched backward. Achilles could've sworn he heard his armor slightly crack. The deformed destroyer grabs boulders and hurls them at Achilles who is able to dodge all but one and is knocked down.
4. Cú Chulainn calms down, remembering his beloved Emer. He removes the spear with which he was impaled and notices something: his opponent does not seem to be too injured. His armor and his skin do not seem to be scratched. "Could it be a magical set of armor? Is he invincible?" No. His new nemesis faltered when hit in the heel, so he should try to use the Gae Bolg where his enemy seemed to be weak.
5. Achilles recollects himself and draws his sword again. His enemy can seem to mutate into a monster and become vicious, but becomes violent, almost to a mindless degree, putting a lot of force in his strikes. He should strike afar from with his spear and evade his opponent's spear and slingshot. "He's strong, but it looks like he can still be hurt with my weapons. He struck my weakness, but does he know of it?" With his plan in mind, Achilles raises his shield and charges, evading Cú Chulainn's projectiles. Cú Chulainn even throws Achilles' spear back at him which Achilles catches.
6. They start to clash swords, spears, and shields again, striking any exposed skin they can. Cú Chulainn cannot seem to injure his opponent and his armor is very sturdy. However, he is able to graze Achilles' weak point, and Achilles pushes him away. "Aha! So he IS weak there!". Using his shield, Cú Chulainn parries his attack and attempts to get another strike in, but Achilles, using his spear, keeps his adversary away. "He seems to know. I must keep him at bay." Achilles, using his own defensive techniques, is able to momentarily fend off his rival.
7. Cú Chulainn now knows what needs to do. He needs to end the fight soon, or else he'll never see his dear Emer again. "For Emer." With his dear love in mind, Cú Chulainn warp spasms again, and assaults Achilles, trying to hit his heel. Achilles attempts to rush his foe, and he is able to injure him, but Cú Chulainn flat-out launches Achilles away, leaving his weak point exposed.
8. Achilles knows his enemy is weak and desperate. Why else would he mutate like he did? However, Achilles still feels a bit of pain in his heel; his opponent has hit his weak spot and he knows of his heel's vulnerability. He grabs his weapons and prepares for one final clash. "For Patroclus." He meets his foe's eyes again and both let out one final war cry and charge.
9. Achilles wins by tiring out Cú Chulainn. The monster gets angrier and angrier, but Achilles dodges, and taking advantage of his foe's seeming mindlessness, slashes off one of his arms. The monster staggers, and in a short time, Cú Chulainn returns to normal, panting and bleeding. He ties himself to a stone using his own entrails and meets Achilles' eyes once again. Achilles throws his spear and successfully impales the now-normalized foe who lets out a shout of anger, seemingly not one of anger.
10. Cú Chulainn wins by keeping Achilles at a distance. Still in his ríastrad, Cú Chulainn is able to smash Achilles' armor so hard it starts to crack and break. The adversary attempts to rush him, but Sétanta knocks him away. He starts to calm down, knowing he only has one attempt to win. Seeing that Achilles' heel is exposed, he readies his weapon and throws the Gae Bolg with his foot. It successfully lands on Achilles' weak heel. The weapon then opens up into thirty barbs, causing Achilles to shout in agony and fall.
11. Both retrieve their weapons only after a raven lands on the corpse's shoulder. They pay their respects to their adversary for a great battle, entomb the other as a sign of respect, and depart the battlefield. Home is a long journey away, and without the horses, even longer.
12. KO!
RESULT:
Strengths and weaknesses:
Achilles:
+ Has divine armor from the god Hephaestus as well as his invulnerability from bathing in the Styx and/or the ambrosia he was fed as a baby.
+ Arguably the more experienced warrior due to his time in the Trojan War and his training under the centaur Chiron.
+ Is capable of killing powerful and skilled warriors like Hector, Penthesilea (Queen of the Amazons), and Memnon.
- The only weak point is his heel, but it was only exploited because of the god Apollo.
Cú Chulainn:
+ Actually favored by the gods of his pantheon.
+ Is likely the greater warrior as he defeated Fer Díad and Aífe. Fer Díad and Cú Chulainn were trained under the legendary Scottish warrior Scthach, and Aífe is said to be Scathach's rival and stated to be equal to Cú Chulainn in skill. Cú Chulainn also single-handedly fought Queen Mab's army and even harmed Morrigan, said to be a goddess of battle and war, though not in direct combat.
+ His anger is more dangerous due to the ríastrad.
+ Has a ranged option in a slingshot.
+ Likely has a healing option as when he met his father in a dream, his father healed him.
+ The Gae Bulg allows for an instant kill...
- ...assuming that Cú Chulainn can pull it off in time and Achilles doesn't avoid it.
- Can still be killed like a normal warrior, but that was because he broke his oaths which weakened him, and was killed by a magic king-killing spear.
- His healing was done in a dream, and Achilles doesn't tend to leave opponents in just a sleeping state. Even then, the healing doesn't seem to be instant.
Ending puns:
"Setanta just couldn't exploit his opponent's Achilles' heel."
"Achilles should've said 'Cú-dbye'." (Cú + goodbye)
MUSIC:
Name: "Face My Fury"
The title makes reference to both combatant's anger.
Art: The art would depict Achilles' shield being pierced by the Gae Bolg, but the spear would be chopped by Achilles' sword.
Sound: Grand and orchestral again, but it would be faster and even have some metal elements in it. The orchestra is for the mythological aspect and the metal is for when the two get angry.
THANK YOU AND I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS!
---------------------------------------------------
First and foremost, amazing work.
This would be an amazing fight to see. However, I might be a little rusty in my folkloric knowledge, because I must have missed the "warp-shift" (and to be honest, I'm not as familiar with Cú Chulainn as I, a huge myth fan, should be).
I also find the references to their bonds pretty interesting, since I don't think we get a lot of internal dialogue in either references.
"Face My Fury" is pretty good for a track, so...

I Get a Suger Rush Whenever I'm With You - Chapter 5.2
Good evening fellow Drukkari stans! It's a wonder what an empty calendar week and all my usual shows going on hiatus can do for my productivity, considering it's been less than a week! If you missed the last installment and need to catch up, you can find it here, or catch up from the very beginning here. After a brief interlude featuring Druig's co-worker, we're getting back into the actual competition again. What challenges await our competitors this time? Find out now in the next installment of Drukkari in the Great British Bake Off!
Tumblr media
The day picked up significantly with the first challenge. With Makkari pacified for the moment, Druig had thrown himself into the signature bake. The resulting éclairs (Mexican hot chocolate-flavored) had been a hit. He’d known they were good when he tested the recipe, but the crew had claimed his leftovers so quickly, it was a miracle they’d been able to save any for him to try. Druig was still in a bit of a daze. Darcy offered to get Makkari to conduct his interview again, but he pulled himself together long enough to get to lunch. To his surprise, he found himself at the center of attention there as well. Upon sitting down, Druig nearly jumped out of his seat as he was immediately clapped on the back by Gilgamesh.
“Well done today, Druig,” he said cheerfully, taking a seat next to him.
“The day’s not over yet,” was all he could think to say.
“True. I’m surprised Arishem didn’t give you a handshake. He seemed quite pleased.”
Before Druig could respond, Makkari had come racing over and plopped herself into the seat across from him, Kingo trailing after her. She slid her plate across the table and emphatically signed, Give me some! Druig chuckled as he acquiesced, pushing some of his éclair onto the plate. She took a bite, her face immediately lighting up as she pretended to faint onto Kingo, who screamed in surprise.
“Hey, save some for me!” he whined, but Makkari only shook her head and took another bite.
“I take it I have your approval, then?” Druig said with a smirk. She smiled and nodded at him as Kingo snuck a bite from her plate. His eyes widened as he chewed, not even reacting when Makkari punched his arm in retaliation. As Druig raised his eyebrows in question, Kingo merely turned back to him and muttered, “It’s so good, I hate you.” At this, both Makkari and Gil burst out laughing while Druig smiled smugly.
Just then, Sersi and Dane made their way to the table. Setting her plate down, Sersi glanced at the scene they’d walked into and said, “I’m guessing you don’t have any extra éclairs?”
“I’m afraid Makkari and Kingo beat you to it. The crew already claimed the rest,” Druig explained.
“Damn! I wanted to try some,” she remarked as she sat down next to him.
“Well, against Makkari, I’m afraid you didn’t stand a chance,” Dane noted. His signing was still a little clumsy, but he’d improved quite a bit in the past week.
“You’re right. She’s much faster than I am,” Sersi added, earning a smile from Makkari.
Would’ve gotten here even sooner if it wasn’t for this one, she replied, pointing to Kingo, who sighed and rolled his eyes in response. It wasn’t long before Ajak came over, saying, “I missed the éclair exchange already, didn’t I?”
“Druig’s are gone, if that’s what you’re asking,” Dane answered.
“Darn!” she signed, putting down her plate. “I guess I’ll have to take Arishem’s word that they were good.”
“Can confirm: they’re way too good,” Kingo interjected as Makkari nodded vigorously. “He probably sold his soul for that recipe.”
“Well, I’m very proud of you, Druig,” Ajak continued, causing him to duck his head in an effort to hide his smile. “And I call dibs on the paper copy of the recipe!”
“We could probably just start an email chain with all of our recipes,” Sersi piped up. Before Kingo could interrupt with a lecture about breaking the rules, she quickly added, “After the competition ends, of course.”
I don’t know if I can wait that long, Makkari said. Be glad you don’t know what you’re missing, because I need more, ASAP.
This drew a few chuckles from the table just as Sprite came in. She was about to sit down at one of the smaller tables when Gilgamesh waved his arms and called out, “Sprite! Over here!”
“I can see you, I just didn’t think there was any more room at the table,” she replied, not bothering to hide her annoyance.
“Nonsense, you don’t take up much room!” Gil responded.
“No, but where will Phastos sit?” she retorted. Despite the wording, Druig got the feeling Sprite was saying it more to be contrary than out of sympathy for her fellow competitor.
“We’ll drag the table over,” Gil said, getting up. Much to Druig’s surprise, Gil pulled him out of his seat too. “Give me hand!”
“Yessir,” Druig replied, once his brain caught up with what was happening. Sprite rolled her eyes, but she picked up her plate and let them move the table. Just after they finished, Phastos walked in with his plate. Taking in the table arrangement, he glanced at Gil and Sprite as he quipped, “Oh, we’re being social today?”
“Seemed silly to sit separate,” Gil answered with a shrug and a smile.
“Great, now everyone else can weigh in on which milk substitute is best,” Sprite piped up, voice dripping with sarcasm.
“I’m telling you, it’s soy milk!” Phastos said, setting down his plate and taking a seat. “My child is lactose intolerant, and I have tried every substitute under the sun.”
“That’s nice, but the correct answer is oat,” Sprite responded, drawing a few chuckles from the others.
“I actually prefer cashew,” Sersi added.
Almond milk’s not bad, Makkari chimed in.
“I have a cow, so just regular milk for me,” Ajak said.
“Have any of you tried flax milk?” Kingo asked.
“You mean the worst milk?” Sprite responded.
“It’s actually not that bad,” he started to say, but he was cut off by a scoff from Phastos.
“I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I’m with Sprite on this one. Flax milk is awful,” he interjected.
“Wow, you actually got them to agree on something,” Gil remarked, his voice full of genuine surprise.
“What can I say? Apparently, I’m a much better unifier than I am a baker,” Kingo said with a sigh as he turned to Makkari. “Five minutes in and they’re already ganging up on me.”
They fit right in, she affirmed with a sympathetic smile.
“You really do know how to bring us all together, Kingo,” Druig added. “With your objectively wrong opinions.”
Kingo threw his head back in defeat as the others giggled at the exchange.
-
Only took five chapters to get to the other Eternals 😅 Anyway, hope you enjoyed that mini-chapter! Group scenes are going to be quite busy again.

15th day "Utopia" (scene 4)
How should I spend the remaining hours? I thought about it, but this is where I ended up.
"This place does not change. I like the quiet of the living room, but this place suits me better."
"Yeah. You like to sit Japanese-style even though you're a knight, and the shinai looked pretty good on you as well. It might have been fun having a match with armors on."
"Armor? You should have said so. I could have worn my armor, and you could have put pads on. …We really should have done that. If you had mentioned it earlier, I could have fought you more seriously."
"Uh…" Saber is so cute even when she's annoyed. She's cute, but her words are pretty scary.
"Are you serious about being serious? I wouldn't be able to get up for a week if we did that."
"No, that is not true. You underestimate yourself. You have really improved these past few days. It might even be possible for you to take a match from me." "Really?"
Even if that's flattery, I'm really happy. I really respect Saber when it comes to swords. Being able to beat her even once is like being accepted by her.
"For real…? So, I could even win a match against you if chance favored me…?" "Yes. You have vastly improved. You can be proud of that, and I am really happy about it as well."
"―――――" Saber replies with a full smile. …That expression makes my determination vanish. After this. We won't be able to come back. If we can just run away instead of going into an unwinnable battle――
"Shirou? Why have you stopped? …Does your wound hurt? If that is the case, please rest in your room and――" "――No, I'm fine now. Nothing hurts anymore."
――I cut off all hesitations. I can't run away, and I really don't want our final time together to be like this.
"Hey Saber. Since we're here, do you want to spar lightly? Not a match, but more like playing around." I hide my emotions and bluff as much as I can.
"All right. Then I shall fight you using my style. You can fight me in your style as well."
She must have understood my intentions as she gladly accepts my idea. …Yes. It's more like us to be fighting than talking.
For a short while, we forget about everything and feel each other's shinai.
――The moon is distant. The clouds have cleared and the darkness has a dim blue glow. Daybreak is close. The long night is about to end.
――This is the final moment. Going through the night, Saber and I have reached our final destination.
"――Shirou, this is…" Saber sounds tense. I feel the same way. As I nod, I can feel sweat dripping down my neck.
…The mountain feels like one big living thing. The wind coming down from the mountain gate is warm, and the shaking trees seem like breathing lungs. Chills and pressure assail me every time I take a step. No――the air really is thick and wet.
"…Mana is dense here. This is just like ten years ago. I expect…" …The summoning of the Holy Grail has begun or it's already over. Either way, that must mean that Lancer has fallen to Gilgamesh.
"――I'm going to make sure, Saber. After we reach the top, all that's left is to fight. You take care of Gilgamesh, so I'll take care of his Master――Kotomine. We won't assist each other. …We just have to beat one of our opponents."
"Yes. I will concentrate on my own fight this time. And Kotomine is an enemy you must defeat." "…Yeah. Leave him to me. You too Saber. Don't let that guy beat you."
"…Yes. I will swear on my pride that he will not defeat me. Not as a Servant, but as a heroic spirit, I cannot allow him to beat me."
Saber says so strongly without hesitation or distress. So there's nothing more to say. We will go to battle and determine the winner as the last remaining Masters. ――Even if in the process… If one of us dies, the other need only defeat their enemy.
Even if I die, if Saber beats Gilgamesh, Kotomine won't be able to obtain the Holy Grail. At the same time, even if Saber dies――if I defeat Kotomine, Gilgamesh won't be able to stay in this world. …So there's no need to help each other. Our battles have already gone their separate ways.
Red light fills the mountaintop. The blowing wind is getting stronger and it seems the source of it is that light――coming from the back of the grounds. The red phosphorescence scatters on the wind, and the grounds is too bright for nighttime.
Stagnant air filled with the presence of death. ―――――This is… Like the fire back then.
"―――――" But it isn't like that. Within all this red light, something is about to emerge.
…From the back of the building. A black darkness oozing in the bright red. If this clearing is like a clear lake, that mud is like an oil spill.
"――You are finally here. I have been waiting for you, Saber." He is there, within all the rich colors. Ignoring the blood red and the death-stained black. The Servant clad in gold is waiting for us――no, for Saber in the middle of this place.
"And the time is about right. The Holy Grail has finally moved into action and the void has just opened. This curse is the contents of the Holy Grail, the Third Element which keeps us Servants in this world. ――This is what you splashed me with ten years ago."
Gilgamesh is only looking at Saber. It goes the same for Saber. She takes a step forward and points her sword at the knight in front of her.
"――That is good spirit. That strong spirit, even though you know you cannot defeat me. It is indeed suitable to end this party, but――"
"I do not want any intrusions. You lowlife, disappear right now if you want to see Kotomine. He is waiting for you at the altar."
"――!" Kotomine is waiting.
…I glance at Saber. She nods while looking at Gilgamesh. Her figure tells me… That she is wishing me her best.
――I turn around. The one I need to face isn't here. Behind me. As I run, I hear the battle start.
At the back of the building. Behind the main temple is a large lake. Untouched by humans, the lake is holy as if a dragon king lives in it. The clear blue water is pure and the lake isn't even murky.
But that's all in the past. The lake now has none of these characteristics. The red light is in front of my eyes. And the sea of black tar. ――And――
The "void" created in the air and the girl presented as a sacrifice.
"――Koto… mine…!" My calm mind instantly goes over the limit. I stop and glare at my enemy.
"Welcome, Emiya Shirou. The last surviving Master." He smiles sarcastically and opens his arms to welcome me. …This is the site of our battle. This is the altar of the summoning in this Holy Grail War.
"――Let Ilya down. I'll beat you up after that." I glare at Kotomine. …There's about ten meters between us. The fight will begin if I move another step. …Once the fight starts, I'll have to run straight at him and stab him in the chest. But before that, I have to do something about Ilya――
"Hey. Didn't you hear me? I told you to let Ilya down. What's so fun about torturing a kid?"
"I understand your feelings, but I cannot do that. The Holy Grail has appeared, but the void is yet unstable. My wish will not come true unless she bears this until she dies." Until she dies――then Ilya is still alive…!
"…I see. If you have no intention of letting her down, I'll just have to use force. I'll stop your wish――that black mud, right now."
"…Oh. So this must appear to be my wish to you. ――As expected from the son of Kiritsugu. I did not expect two generations to make the same mistake." "Wh――at?"
"There is no reason to explain things to someone who does not understand the Holy Grail. You may fulfill your role as the last Master with that misunderstanding." "――!"
I jump. There's about ten meters between us. Keeping that distance, I jump sideways. "―――――" This is the result of my instincts of not wanting to die… …Surpassing my desire to kill him.
"――!" I roll sideways onto the ground. I stop instantly and look up.
"That's――!" I look at the place I was running over. A sound of burning. The burning sound is coming from the black mud, stretching out from the lake. …It's like a black carpet. The mud slashed like a whip, attacking me as I went after Kotomine, and left a mark on the ground.
"I forgot to tell you, but you are already within my range. And to add, this thing is sensitive to living beings. ――I do not mind you moving, but you will die if you move carelessly."
"――!" I jump to avoid the black mud mercilessly attacking me. Screw moving carelessly. He's ready to kill me…!
"Damn――you fake priest…!" I stand up, still keeping watch over the lake. …The distance to Kotomine hasn't changed. That means this ten meters is as near as he wants me to get. …But that tentacle of mud stretches without limit. It will come after me if he wants it to, and I'm sure there are more than one――
"Oh, so you are ready to fight. That pleases me. I could not kill you if you were to run away, but there will be no problem if you attack me. I serve God, so I cannot kill someone who is pleading for their life."
…The tentacle whips out. The quivering mud coming from the lake is like a black snake.
"―――――" …I bite my lip. This is the worst situation as I thought. The number of snakes continues to increase without end. I don't know how long I can survive, let alone how I can get close to him――
"It is only natural for you to be unable to win. There is a large difference in the years we have lived. It is a difference you cannot overcome unless you have something major."
The priest raises his hands. He glares at the heavens as if he is conducting an orchestra.
"――Put your life on the line. You might be able to reach me if you do so―――!"
He releases the black snakes.
"Guh――!" I kick away the mucus around my ankle. My clothes are burnt away and my skin is exposed.
"――Guh, uh――!" I jump back from the striking tentacle. I can't feel my right ankle and I can't even tell if it's there, but I jump into the open field in front of me.
"Ha――Haa, ha, ah――!" I check my body as I roll. Ankle. All right, it's still there. I just can't feel it. If it's there, I should be able to run.
"Ah――haa, haa, ah――!" I jump in a different direction again to avoid the striking mud. I hear a splashing sound right next to me. The smell of the ground burning forces my dizzy head awake and――
"――!!!!!!" Fire runs up my back. "Ha, guh, guh――!" I shake it off and jump to an empty space. That must have been the end of this attack. The black mud that was surrounding me has disappeared from view for now――
"Ha――aa…Ah." …I bite my lip. I ran so much, but in the end… I'm pushed back to here again.
"Ha―――― haa, haa, ha――" I breathe hard and look at him so as not to lose in spirit. …Kotomine has not moved at all. He has just watched me run around.
"Haa… haa, haa, haa, haa――" …No matter how hard I breathe, my heart won't calm down. It's saying it's at its limits and it needs rest. It's about to go out on its own if I don't let it rest.
"Kuh――ha, haa, ha, ah――" I can't do anything. I can't get near Kotomine nor get through that black mud. …I'm not going to hold back on using the 'projection' magic.
If I can't move forward, I can reproduce Saber's sword again. It'll surely be able to slice through that black mud and I can go straight for Kotomine.
"Hm? Is that all? Tell me if you have given up." The instant he speaks…[r] "Haa――ah, ha――!?" Lots of mud comes splashing toward me, telling me I cannot let myself stop.
"Kuh――!" I raise myself and barely dodge the mud. …The mud itself isn't too bad. It's slow compared to Saber's shinai, and it only comes where it's aimed, so it's easy to dodge.
But that's only true when there's only one of them. I can't deal with tens of mud attacks, the ones that come from behind me the instant I dodge them. As a result, I can only move around. Even then, mud covers me bit by bit.
"Guh, damn――!" There's no time to rest. I can't reproduce a sword like this. "Projection" magic tracing a weapon from the beginning requires at least one minute of concentration. If I show such an opening, I'll be melted down to my bones.
"Haa――ha, ha, ha, ah――!" The parts of my body covered with mud have lost sensation. The only good thing is that I don't feel any pain, but I won't know if I'm dead or not when that mud covers my whole body. I'm finished when that happens, and most of all――I'll have melted away by then.
"Haa――ha, ha, ha, ah――!" For now, all I can do is run. If there's any chance of getting near him, it'll be when I do something about this mud―― "Ow――damn, oh――!?"
"―――――!" I-I can't believe it…! Who on earth would trip at a time like this!?
"―――――" Kotomine looks down at me like trash. He points his finger at me, and many snakes show their veins.
"…!" I get up. I try to get up, but fall again. "――Eh?"
I fall. I fall. The snakes are coming.
But I still fall. Why? Why? Why? Black mud comes for my neck. Why? Oh, I see why. My right ankle is unbelievably black――
"――Ah." Black mud rains down. It spills onto my body like a rainstorm, melts it, and drowns my despair――

TIGER DOJO
Taiga: Not having a weapon when it's needed. This is the place to help such people, the Tiger Dojo. Well. It is the prevailing view that the outcome of battle is decided before it even starts. What does it mean, student!?
Ilya: Um, I guess you shouldn't start a fight until you have a weapon or a plan?
Taiga: Yes! The enemy is the unfair Servant that prepared the strongest force with his money. So you should at least prepare one weapon that lets you turn things around.
Ilya: Then Taiga, are you saying you should restart from the night before the fight and prepare a new weapon? What can you do in such a short time?
Taiga: You can do this! Saber-chan originally had three Noble Phantasms. You should be able to do something if you prepare the last one.
Ilya: I see. You just have to give it back to her, right?
Taiga: Yup. Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's. It's something too valuable to lose, but you have to give back what you found.
Ilya: Oh, you said something good, by your standards. I guess you're a school teacher even if you're a bad one at that.
Taiga: Ahahahaha! Praise me, praise me!
Ilya: Yeah, yeah. Then while Taiga is in a good mood, we will make a major announcement. This corner has continued modestly as a side to the main story, but this is the final episode! We will use a different outlook and start "Tiger Dojo Part II: Taiga One Hundred Million Yen Debt"!! We're going to move the setting to my castle and update our standing pics, music, and even hardware! Production budgets will double and it will be so rich that you won't even think this is a bonus corner!
Taiga: Gahahaha, so many wonderful things! I don't quite understand, but is it like getting a totally new graphic designer!?
Ilya: That's right, master! We will be freed from this rough art! Osu!
Taiga: Marvelous! In that case, let us get away from this dojo right away! Listen, everyone. The key to the second route is on the third day! Once you see an ending, there should be a choice that wasn't there before on the third night. Then hit, hit, hit! Use whatever you can including your Command Spell to stop the raging lion!
Ilya: That's right. Then everyone, I'll be waiting for you in the renewed Tiger Dojo!
.
.
.
.
.
ARIA CORNER
Well folks, you managed to get the last Dead End on this route! Well done, everybody. Worth noting that Taiga's advice about starting the second route has technically been rendered false by our format - the choice to get on route two was there, since I oh-so-generously kept all the choices open. Anyways, have fun with the next couple scenes, all 13 of you!

Ashes of Dreams (lyrics):
Hidden so deep in veils of deceit, Imprisoned in twisting spells - Are we the plaything of fiends, or merely the dreams That we're telling ourselves, telling ourselves?
Stories of danger, fearless attack, Spectres of plague and pain. All of these ghosts of our own delusions are back; Have we been fighting in vain? Fighting in vain?
These lyrics are the meaning of this picture art that I paint. Fighting in vain? <== This is the hint of how the story will go so far. This is the story of Punch. Punch appearance as half to show why she changes her appearance. It shows that Sonic and Gilgamesh are part of her personality. (But Punch's personality is based on me more. I will explain later at the end of the blog)
Sonic, Punch and Gilgamesh are the same. Because they are Punch.
(Warning contains Fate extra ccc and Sonic games spoilers)
Tumblr media
Enkidu: And yet you lived for many years, you were reborn as a tyrant
Gilgamesh’s violence only increased after he became a young man. Not only the people of Uruk, but even the gods who had made use of him had had enough of Gilgamesh’s despotism.
“Gilgamesh isn’t fulfilling his true purpose.” “We need something to punish that insolent man — ”
As for Sonic....
greenyvertekins: His greediness.
Yeah, I know. Very rarely shown trait that actually only shown a tiny handful of times such as in this in which he's very willing to fight hard for that last meat bun;
and in the Black Knight opening in which he's more concerned about catching his food and eating it than really taking the situation all that seriously (Not that he really needed to…) then saying a big "Noooo!" when he drops the second one and doesn't have a chance at getting it before Merlina teleports them away.
I doubt that bringing up how ravenous Sonic apparently is in Purple Frenzy form would mean that much-considering gameplay and story segregation and the debate about how intact Sonic's mind actually is in that form considering he acts little more than a mindless monster that eats objects with a single-minded ferocity.
greenyvertekins: Extreme obstinance to his own personal view
He certainly wastes no time when it came to attacking Merlina when she revealed her plans and her one-sided sadness. In fact, he looks like he's ready to cleave her in two just for asking why he doesn't understand her feelings on Camelot's future;
This feels like an extreme course of action to take considering that if anything, Merlina was more misguided than truly malevolent and didn't do anything truly objectionable before this. He's also not all that willing to admit when something is difficult for him as indicated by Team Sonic's ending in Heroes in which Knuckles goads him into admitting that this time Eggman came close and that if it wasn't for him and Tails assisting him, he "Wouldn't have stood a chance". Whilst Sonic admits this to a degree ("Hmmm, well Maybe you're right Knuckles"), it's still only a "maybe" and he's still quite obstinate.
greenyvertekins: Bad loser
He hates being deprived of the win or getting things wrong. Good examples of this include Jet besting him in the Ex Grand World Prix despite the cheating and blaming his initially poor swordsmanship on Caliburn i.e If you keep getting hit by Arthur in the Misty Lake boss battle, Sonic will state in bad temper who he wishes he didn't have to use "This dang sword" and when Caliburn states that he wished for more time to train him, Sonic states that he wishes for a better sword.
Back to King Gilgamesh
Gilgamesh born with a body that was of the highest grade by mortal standards and knowledge reaching truth, Gilgamesh was born, designed, as king and the Wedge of Heaven to connect the rising humans and the fading gods. He was sent to ensure the humans and bind the earth slowly leaving the Age of Gods. He was a being embodying the two life sets of life forms, with the blood of those who had ruled and the blood of those who would rule from thereon. He was to be the ultimate neutral party.
Enkidu: …But. I knew the reason for his transformation, I knew so well it hurt. When he was born, this conclusion was already made. He was alone, a creature neither god nor human. With the characteristics of both sides, his viewpoint ranged so wide and so far not even the gods could understand the things he saw. An excess of power lead to an excess of loneliness. Even so, he did not give up his place as king. He did not flee the purpose he had given himself.  …what a powerful ego, I thought. He earnestly respected the gods, and loved humans. It was just that, in conclusion, he had chosen the path of abandoning the gods and hating humans.
Tumblr media
Free-spirited, adventurous and fun-loving #ソニック 🔵💨
He cares about his friends and hates bending. He doesn't seem to want to be a "hero"😮
Still, Sonic, who helps everyone with his heart, might be the coolest hero
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Tsubasa of Phantasia, Enkidu gave his life for Gilgamesh. Enkidu's decision to die for Gilgamesh is the same reason why Syaoran chose to save Sonic's life no matter what.
Enkidu: “That’s right. I was a weapon. A tool. Not like him. Though Gilgamesh was made as a child of the gods, he was a hero who defied them. He had a soul from the beginning. He had free will ever since he was born. A true life, unlike mine. A star, with real value, not a consumable like me. …I had always yearned for that. I hated it. Why, when we were made by the same gods, were we such different beings.”
Sonic is a hero, but not the usual hero that we tend to think of. He seeks for action and adventure, but he is willing to help out anyone in need, and does things he thinks is right. So, to me, he's a hero, despite him not seeing himself as that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This picture is what Gilgamesh means "my childhood". He refers to Sonic. In the past, both Punch and Gilgamesh were much like Sonic back then. Sonic, Punch, and Gilgamesh were all good at speaking body language as children. Sonic, Punch, and Gilgamesh love nature and were very positive about the world where they lived.
molinaskies: As confident and collected of a character as Sonic is, he has always been a character who feels so, so, so immensely. What recent English game scripts butcher and what a lot of people seem to miss outright is that Sonic is highly emotional but doesn’t have the emotional maturity to comfortably process or showcase his more negative (anger, sadness, fear) and complex (romantic love, admiration) emotions. He knows they’re there, but usually refuses to address them. We see signs of these feelings in games and external media, but – again, by design – Sonic suppresses those feelings to focus on what he loves - his speed, his freedom, world peace, and his friends. Sonic is a fifteen-year-old with the responsibility of the world’s peace and his found family’s happiness on his shoulders. He bears that burden alone and it clearly affects him, but he’s not at a point in his life where he’s ready to confront his heart. He just knows that it’s big, that it’s in the right place, and that it’ll be there for him when he’s ready. Whether that’s Sonic’s healthiest option can be debated, and I’d argue that he should let the people he wants to be closer to him in (Amy is a strong example, but that’s another essay that’s been done to death – perhaps another time), but the fact that he’s an emotional and reserved character is not.
kagekitsuneoflight: Actually there is a very good reason why Gilgamesh hates Shirou. And it’s not a “I’m an arrogant bastard. I don’t need a reason to hate this boy trying to claw his way to my level.” Gilgamesh sees Shirou for what he is. He’s taken bits and pieces of others and stuffed it within himself with hardly an effort to make it his own. And to Gilgamesh, this it’s infuriating. He loves when humans are themselves and honest and to see this boy with a stolen dream wielding stolen legends, stolen pride (because keep in mind. A Noble Phantasm is a symbol of a hero’s pride), he cannot help but be infuriated. Who was this boy, this faker, who dares claim to be a Hero of Justice when it is not even his own dream?!
As the King of Heroes, the First Hero, he absolutely cannot let this stand! He, Gilgamesh, is allowed to use those symbols of pride as projectiles. He is the King of those owners of pride. It is within his rights. Yet.
He never truly uses another’s Noble Phantasm, does he? He doesn’t grasp their pride and use it as his own.
Tumblr media
fukurou-hoseki: Sonic's more dominant personality type is his observation. He's a curious little cat who will observe the area around him and listen to the people in question. He never cuts anyone off, even if they are a foe.
Sonic, Punch and Gilgamesh are observation personality types.
Enkidu: Thus, I was gazing on the fortress city. The voice calling to me came from within it. Suppressing my impatience, I counted the days until he would be grown. In childhood, he had an air of royalty about him surpassing any other on earth. Open-mindedness, prudence, justice, he valued all of these virtues. The average person walking by was charmed by him and would sing his praises. He appeared the ideal boy-king. I could only think that the gods had made some mistake, saying he had grown proud. The young Gilgamesh had no faults in need of punishment. …if there was some problem with him, it was only that while he did honor the gods, he didn’t submit to them.
Because pure heart as a child is the reason why Shadow never forget Sonic. Sonic's heart is just a baby. (I hate to call that) but have a lot of responsibility when it's time. That's why Shadow care for Sonic.
Shadow: “Sonic reached out to save me before I fell to Earth from the Ark. If I hadn’t waved him away, Sonic would have fallen with me, but his determination in trying…I’ll never forget that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This picture is what Gilgamesh means "my younger self". He refers to Sonic. Fundamentally, a polite and modest boy. His type of woman goes along the lines of a "flower that blooms in the wild"(He refers to Punch).
Enkidu observed the young Gilgamesh, but could not understand the need to punish such an amiable, ideal king who was praised and lauded by his infatuated subjects. Sonic is the same as Gilgamesh back then. That's why deep down Gilgamesh very care for Sonic a lot. But because of him now, he will hurt Sonic if Sonic knew the truth about what happened to Gilgamesh. And all because of him. That's why he always stays away from Sonic and lets Punch face off.
Gilgamesh: But I don't want to lose who I am....if I lose, then who will remember you, my friend.
Sonic: No matter where I am. I'm never going to change
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some things are beautiful because they cannot be obtained
fukurou-hoseki: Sonic stood up to accept his fate. He was going to allow Erazor to kill him there and then. Shahra jumped in front of him as she promised, as his master, she was bound to protect him from harm.
The same way to Punch and Gilgamesh. They already live life to the fullest. That's why they gave their lives to do anything and accept their fate no matter what this event will happen. But the problem is......
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Punch: Sonic doesn't know what's hurt, what's love, what's sad and what's revenge is. He did feel revenge and anger but not the same as humans that's why he never ended up like Shadow. But he had a strong heart. Me and Mr Gilgamesh too. We understand this sentiment, but we never understood it. Sonic is not the type to love hugging. That's means that only those who really important to him allow to hug and touch him.
Sonic didn't understand what death mean even though he knew what's mean. In Sonic Prime shows how much he is hurt when his friends are gone(This is what death meaning is). Sonic just realizes how hurt he is when he lost his friends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Enkidu: It was to protect Uruk though? If we don’t defeat all evil on the Earth, our people will starve to death. So why, I asked again. He made the people of Uruk suffer by his tyranny, so why was he worried for them now?
Gilgamesh: It’s not so strange. I was born to be a protector of humanity, after all. Building the future of this planet is the king’s duty.”
Enkidu: I see. So you preferred the path you saw here.
In Sonic and the black knight, Sonic already chose this path even though he would end up as a villain. Sonic didn't mind at all. The same way why both Punch and Gilgamesh decision and never look back on what they chose.
Gilgamesh: Do not take me so lowly. How can I be a hero if I cannot swallow a curse such as this? All evils of the world? Heh, bring at least three times as much as that if you want to stain me. See, Saber. A hero is someone who carries with them everything they see. I am already carrying everything in this world.
Tumblr media
Because he doesn't understand the hurt and doesn't understand that his body was weak and needs to rest. Sonic keep pushing forward until his body was limited. Like Gilgamesh in Fate grand order, he dead from overwork and then takes a shot from Tiamat originally meant for Ritsuka. Despite his condition, he continues firing the Dingir. A clump of Lahmu then crashes onto the ziggurat with force equal to Gugalanna’s hoof, knocking out Ritsuka and Mash.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bonus: This picture is what Gilgamesh refers to Syaoran, Peter, and Danny in Tsofph's story. Gilgamesh knew that these three will do anything to protect Sonic, Punch, and Gilgamesh in the future. Gilgamesh chose to walk alone and only because his A+ charisma will hurt them.
Because this is why Gilgamesh both loves and hates himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s mean...If you mistake Sonic's personality, that means you never understand both Punch's and Gilgamesh's personalities. Because these three characters were hard to write.(It's already difficult to understand yourself. Right?) That's why I need to gather many characters to make events and understand them much better. True that Sonic and Gilgamesh are both based on their original creator. But as I told you. They are the same Punch.
Sonic is based on my childhood personality 50%.(Sonic is mostly based on me the most of all three. But still Sonic is different than me because I love water and the ocean more than Sonic.)
Punch is based on my negative personality in the past 100%. (My first hated and my first feeling of revenge you could say. In the present, I don't feel any negative now. I'm happy and accept my life. They are all in that past.)
Gilgamesh is based on my leadership personality 50%. (This is the real reason why I chose to study petroleum at university. This subject is the hardest I have ever challenged in my life. If I understand this, I can show how clever Gilgamesh was and what he knew in the past.)
Tumblr media
This video AMV I made 7 years ago. This one just cut part of the video.(Yep…I still can't believe that I put my heart into this story too much when I was back then.)
This BLAZE is the first opening of Tsubasa Chronicle (anime).

Thena and Gil are filming a movie with Eros this time. Eros still doesn’t like Gil and finds a perfect time to take revenge! Gil and Eros have a fighting scene and Eros takes the chance to “accidentally“ hit Gil really hard at his temple causing him to loose consciousness for a few seconds. When Gil regains consciousness again he is really angry at Eros and his reckless behavior but lucky for our snob Thena is here to hold Gil back before it could escalate😈
"And...action!"
It was pretty basic choreography. Blow for blow, it was Gil vs. Eros. Not that everyone thought a fist fight between the two of them would necessarily translate the right way on screen. But Gil's character had thus far sustained a few injuries, he was at the end of several other fights he had faced.
Eros didn't really appreciate being told that he didn't seem like he would be able to fight Gil realistically, but that was beside the point.
Gil swung a few times, Eros managing to dodge and deflect them. There were a few hits that would be faked for the camera, but they had both practised how to make them look as believable as possible.
They had promos and interview to do! They couldn't go damaging the goods.
"Easy, old man," Eros taunted as he leaned out of another punch. "Don't want to pull your back!"
Gil was 'panting', some fake blood already applied to his arms and some bruising and scratches just faint enough to be a nice subtle touch. He huffed, "don't push your luck, kid."
Eros cracked his knuckles, the large signet ring on his pinkie indicating the allegiance of his character. He pulled back his fist and wound up.
The sound of the ring meeting Gil's head was deafening.
"Gil!" Thena sprang up from the side of the sound stage. Under any other circumstance she would never display such unprofessional behaviour. But she leapt from her chair.
Gilgamesh swayed a little, completely dizzied by the punch. He touched his temple where it landed, where there was a sizable welt growing, as well as blood that was not special effects. "Shit."
"Cut!"
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Thena rushed onto stage, pushing grips and gaffers alike out of her way. She leaned close to Gil, who swayed right into her. "Are you okay?"
He grunted, but his attempts to stand upright didn't go as planned.
"Gil, mate, I'm so sorry, are you all right?"
Thena would glare at him if she weren't supporting most of Gil's weight as much as she possibly could. "Gil, it's okay, just sit down."
"I'm fine," he groaned, obviously not fine.
"Gil," Thena tried again to calm him, running her fingers through his hair.
He put his hand on her back, but he pulled his head up from her shoulder, glaring at Eros behind her, "what the fuck?"
"I really am sorry," Eros professed, putting his hand to his heart and everything. "Honestly, I didn't-"
"I took the time to work on this shit with you," Gil huffed at him, squinting with the eye closest to where he got hit, "just for you to wide swing and hit me in the face?"
"Gil," Eros held his hands out, taking a step back as Gil took an even more aggravated step forward.
"Gil," Thena said gently, pushing against his chest. "I know, but I need you to sit down right now."
Gil swayed a few more times, flush with adrenaline. "You get away with a lot of shit, man, but this-"
"Gil," she repeated, still working on trying to get him to sit down and take a breath. "Hey, look at me."
Gil moved his squinted eye from the man he wanted to punch right with the face. He looked at Thena, who was still somewhat holding him up. "Thena, I'm okay."
"You're not," she shook her head, tipping his chin at her. "You are almost certainly concussed, and that's nothing to say of the black eye you're going to have."
Gil did sigh faintly as Thena's soft skinned and cool fingers touched his temple. "This sucks, though--we have to get this scene shot."
"Not with an injury like this," Thena broke the news to him, even making a face as she watched the swelling on his face begin to protrude.
"Thena-"
"I think Thena's right, mate," Eros added, which the entirety of the room could have told him was a stupid choice.
Gil made one more feint of a lunge at him, spooking Eros just for the fun of it. He chuckled, letting Thena press her hand to his chest to keep him in place. Although she didn't remove it afterward either, so really she just had her hand over his heart.
Thena put her (other) hand on Gil's cheek, "we're done for the day."
The director inched forward from the shadows, "uh, we?"
"Come on," she coaxed him back to his chair at first, leading him with her hand on his peck and letting him lean on her.
Gil peeked out from the crook of Thena's neck at Eros behind them. He couldn't wink with his bad eye, but he couldn't resist smirking a little as he nestled back into Thena's hair and wrapped his arm around her shoulders.
"You poor thing," Thena whispered, running her hand over his cheek as she helped him sit.
"Thena, you know you can't really take the day off, right?"
"What about him?" Gil sighed as she gave him a sip of her water, and then pressed the bottle to his temple.
Thena didn't even look over at Eros, still hovering around nervously at the edges of things. "Don't worry about him. We're going to get you checked out and then we'll head home."
Maybe he usually wouldn't, but Gil nuzzled in more, his head on Thena's shoulder, letting her run her fingers through his hair. If he could purr, he would.
If he couldn't actually hit Eros back, this would have to do.

A BIG LAPUTA META
          —- ORIGINS , PART 1
featuring a lot of extra research, in many parts , because this is long as all heck. not under a readmore, in case i ever move blogs ….
i have to set the stage for literally everything else that i will probably ever write, ever, for metas on this blog . for a starting point, i’d like to point out that a large part of my portrayal is taken from the original movie, not the english dub, but i do love mark hamill oof. any references to lines from the movie will be from what i managed to grab from subtitles.
from the scene where muska fires the weapon of laputa:
GENERAL Wh – what mockery is this ?
MUSKA Be quiet. You are before the King of Laputa.
GENERAL Are you mad… ?
MUSKA Today, we celebrate the rebirth of the monarchy. The rebirth of the World Empire under one King. Let me show you gentlemen the power of Laputa. […] I will show you the threat of Laputa. […] It’s the heavenly fire that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah in the Old Testament, and the arrows of heaven which took Ramayana, Indora, and Atlantis. The whole world will bow to Laputa again!
ok ok so uh, quick rundown about the lore that i follow for atlantis —- plato’s dialogues, timaeus and critias. from timaeus
Now in this island of Atlantis there was a great and wonderful empire which had rule over the whole island and several others, [critias talks about atlantis having a lot of territory and wanting to have more and says atlantis tried and failed to take over the lands of king solon] But afterwards there occurred violent earthquakes and floods and in a single day and night of misfortune […] the island of Atlantis […] disappeared in the depths of the sea. For which reason the sea in those parts is impassable and impenetrable, […] this was caused by the subsidence of the island.
from critias,
For many generations, as long as the divine nature lasted in them, they were obedient to the laws, and well-affectioned towards [poseidon], whose seed they were ; for they possessed true and in every way great spirits, uniting gentleness with wisdom in the various chances of life, and in their intercourse with one another. [critias talks about the atlanteans being virtuious, so on …] By such reflections and by the continuance in them of a divine nature, the qualities which we have described grew and increased among them; but when the divine portion began to fade away, and became diluted too often and too much with the mortal admixture, and the human nature got the upper hand, they then, being unable to bear their fortune, behaved unseemly, and to him who had an eye to see grew visibly debased, for they were losing the fairest of their precious gifts; but to those who had no eye to see the true happiness, they appeared glorious and blessed at the very time when they were full of avarice and unrighteous power.
this basically can be summed up as "atlanteans lost their divinity, became mortal and then were struck down by the gods."
an accepted date of the fall of atlantis is 9500 BCE, that’s a LONG TIME AGO. guess what else existed around that time? mesopotamia. now, this is known from archaeological discoveries, since written history seems to have originated about 4000 BCE, ft. the epic of gilgamesh. the area which was mesopotamia included borders of iran and iraq, turkey, syria, northern saudi arabia, and kuwait.

My idea for a potential DEATH BATTLE! #4
2023, October 11, 12, 13, 15

Miko knew fae had less chance of coming back alive once morally corrupt people take faer to a second location. Even if she didn’t think Sersi nor Ikaris were morally corrupted at the moment, she still didn’t trust them enough to not expect them to give up their ‘nice’ façade at any moment. Fae just couldn’t ignore the possibility of the world ending if she didn’t help, so fae ultimately decided to give them the benefit of the doubt.
Thankfully, Miko remembered to leave her teammates a note after fae went back up to change into a more appropriate attire.
Went out. If you don’t hear from me by tomorrow AND I don’t come back by the end of the week, consider me kidnapped. — Miko
Miko, truthfully, was curious about how Sersi and Ikaris could possibly prove that fae could trust them. Especially since they invited her to go somewhere with them just so they can earn faers trust.
On their way to their destination — wherever that may be, since neither Sersi and Ikaris shared that information with faer — they both tried starting conversations with her. However, since she was quite preoccupied by faers thoughts, her replies came out short and a little disinterested. The fact that faers guard was still up didn’t help, either.
"That’s the Domo," Sersi announced when the three of them finally arrived on site — and Miko finally laid faers eyes on the Eternals’ former home.
When Ikaris told faer that the Eternals used to live in a spaceship, Miko didn’t expect the Domo to look like how it did. Sure, fae had witnessed with faers own two eyes how spaceships could vary in sizes and shapes; but, somehow, the Domo just didn’t strike her as one at all. Given how she had enough of seeing spaceships during the war with Thanos, Miko thought it was actually better that the Domo didn’t seem like a spaceship to faer — or it might’ve triggered her fight or flight response otherwise.
"What is taking Ikaris and Sersi so long—" Miko heard someone say when they reached the doorway to a conference room of sorts inside the spacecraft. "How difficult is it to convince—"
Ikaris cleared his throat before the person could finish. "Hey! You’re finally back!" Another person greeted after following the sound, "Is Akosh with you?"
"Yes, but—" A wind passed by both Sersi and Ikaris before the former could even finish. Surprisingly, neither seemed surprised when they turned around and saw another woman standing in front of Miko. "Makkari," Sersi tried to turn her attention towards her, but Makkari wouldn’t budge.
Akosh, Makkari signed, her attention steely locked on Miko, do you remember me?
Miko’s eyes gave away faers panicked state. Not because Makkari just appeared out of nowhere and invaded her personal space, but because fae could understand what she just said — even if fae never formally learned sign language.
Makkari, Miko found herself signing back, as though it was almost second nature to her. How do I know you? How do I know sign language?
Makkari smiled widely, Because you’re Akosh.
Tumblr media
While Miko was preoccupied by Makkari, the rest of the Eternals took it upon themselves to gather closer to one another and watch the scene before them.
"What were you about to say back there, Sersi?" Gilgamesh asked, his eyes glued on Miko and Makkari conversing animatedly.
"Just that we got Akosh to come with, but we still have to convince faer to trust us."
"Well, Akosh seems to trust Makkari already," Sprite commented.
"I suppose that can’t be helped," Ikaris commented on Sprite’s observation. "Akosh was closer to Makkari and Druig, after all."
"Squirt!" They heard Druig greet Miko, then immediately saw him stop on his tracks. "Woah, you’ve grown."
"He’s right," Thena suddenly noticed the difference between the Akosh they knew and the one currently standing before them after Druig pointed it out, "Akosh has gotten older."
"She’s been a mortal for a decade and a half," Kingo reminded everyone, "of course fae has gotten older."
The Eternals went quiet after that, seemingly pondering the passage of time for the very first time. As immortal beings, they never really gave the passage of time more than a second of thought. Whether it moves or not doesn’t affect them personally, after all, because they don’t physically age. However, upon seeing how Akosh — one of their own, even if formerly — was evidently affected by the passage of time, the Eternals seemed to reach similar epiphanies.
Akosh is Miko, that much is true, but it’s understandably unclear whether the opposite is also true. After all, Fifteen years is a lot of time.

Anime Update V2 46
Hunter x Hunter - With Team Genthru now possessing 96 types of restricted slot cards, Gon, Killua, and Bisky are invited to form a team with other players aware of the danger in order to prevent Genthru from beating the game. They head to Soufrabi to monopolize a card Genthru’s missing, but will have to deal with Razor in the next event.
Fruits Basket - Lots more revelations regarding Haru and Rin, why they broke up, how they feel about each other, and where Yuki fits into all that. Poor Tohru also had an emotional breakdown about her dead parents and ailing grandfather, as Kyo manages to calm her down before they go back home. Shigure continues to be shady AF.
Date A Live S4 - Best Girl Kurumi is back, baby! And it seems she’s finally decided to give Shido a chance to seal her own powers, but with the condition that if he falls for her rather than the other way around, she’ll take his Spirit powers, which will kill him. And if that’s not enough of a threat to Shido’s life, Ike Westcott orders Ellen and Artemisia to assassinate him, even creating an army of artificial Spirits called Nibelcolle, to help them. Thankfully Mana is there to fend them off, and she even gets help from Kurumi and her doubles. Nia finally reveals that Kurumi had visited her for information on how to kill the Spirit of Origin, and the episode just kind of stops as Shido and Kurumi begin their date by playing around with some stray cats.
Fate Zero - Got to see the remaining two episodes of the series and wow, one helluva finale it was. So much pain and tragedy in the final outcome of this Holy Grail War, but in way that made total sense given all the set-up for it and aligns with everything that had been established in Fate/Stay Night, retroactively strengthening that show. Saber is left broken and jaded by the lack of triumph or closure after her master seemingly betrayed her and she’d slain Lancelot for nothing, Irisveil dies with the Grail and Ilya is left orphaned, Kariya meets a depressingly miserable end, Kirei fully embraces what an evil man he truly is and stays in alignment with Gilgamesh, and Kiritsugu pays a heavier price than expected for his vision. The parts that got to me was seeing Kiritsugu’s emotional response to saving at least one person, the young Shirou, from the fire he’d started, and the conclusion for Waver’s arc being the sole purely positive one.
Re:ZERO - So at last, the Shaman who cursed Subaru and has legions of beasts out to kill the villagers has been revealed, and their identity is something so bananas that at first I was wondering if it was a fake out, but no...the stray puppy dog in the village is the Shaman! He curses Subaru by biting him every time he goes down there and plays around with the kids! So Subaru has Rem accompany him to fight this threat, and we get to see Rem as she truly is on the inside: a demon. An absolute feral menace. But one with a heart and senses when it really matters, which is what’s needed for a fight like this.
Symphogear G - The tipping point in the story has transpired. Miku’s still alive, rescued by Maria right before the explosion, but now she’s being held captive by the F.I.S and by the end has been brainwashed by Dr. Ver into fighting for their side. Maria seems fully intent on committing to the self righteous terrorist path she’s been on and gives Dr. Ver full control over the group’s activities, while Kirika and Shirabe are questioning their part in this and whether one of them may be the true heir to Fine’s power. Hibiki, Tsubasa, and Chris are now in for a showdown with not just their enemies, but with Miku!
MAR - Alviss VS Hamelin in the next match. Not much more to say except that obviously, Alviss won and clinched another win for MAR.
Gintama - Skipped over the beach episode and instead watched the silly paranormal haunting episode where the Shinsengumi yet again has to work together with Odd Jobs Gin in order to find out if there really is a ghost haunting them and how they might exorcise it. While Gin and Hijikata’s interactions were easily the highlight, I also loved the continued clashing between Kagura and Okita, and some jokes like the ‘gorilla’ bit and Hijikata’s obsessive need for mayonaise. And the “ghost” turning out to be a mosquito alien was...sure a choice.
Talentless Nana - Finally continued with the episode to bring a temporary halt to the conflict Nana had with Jin, though he’s still around and following his own agenda, and got more adorable bits with Michiru and Nana being actual girlfriends, with Nana clearly having very genuine fondness for Michiru even as she tries to stay in denial and not get too attached to an “enemy of humanity.” I have to call bullshit on Nana’s backstory since I’m sure it didn’t happen exactly the way she described it, and the constant references to Yuuka Sasaki bother me ‘cause they almost position her as the more important character she wasn’t allowed to be. A really intriguing point to end it on, though - that Jin’s words about Nana’s murders drawing out a true psychopath among the students who also murders others seems to have come true. Both Nana and Kyouya are clueless now!
AND
Don’t Toy With Me Miss Nagatoro: 2nd Attack - Finished the season and have to give my closing thoughts, which are...meh, it was just fine and there were episodes and character moments that were enjoyable, but on the whole, Season 1 was better and will stick with me more. I feel like the first half of this season had a lot of tepid material and weak plots that were done no service by the show opting to drop the “two stories per episode” format, but at least the main characters relationship was still endearing and their antics amusing. I think only episode 3 and episode 5 really worked for me. Then the second half had a lot more improved material, but the issue was, shockingly, with the two leads. I’ve said before that I’ve never felt any need for their dynamic and thus the whole series and its narrative to go blatantly romantic, but goddammit they went there and it just wasn’t landing for me. I don’t buy that Nagatoro and Senpai have been through enough to make a strong romantic loving connection with each other yet. Also, while the final episode ends on a really beautiful, heartwarming final scene, it kind of doesn’t fit with the rest of that episode and thus feels unearned and out of nowhere compared to the end of Season 1. I’m glad that 2nd Attack happened since I don’t think it’d be fair to leave Nagatoro-San as a footnote anime, but it’s more dime-a-dozen RomCom than what came before.

Pairing: Drukkari x Reader
Summary: For centuries you had been trying to move past the love you had for Druig and Makkari, always failing to force the feelings away. When the Eternals show up at your door telling you tales of the end of the world, you immediately agree to help, hoping that once it was over you would never have to see Druig and Makkari together again. But, you’re in for a bigger surprise than you expected...
TW// a little angsty, reading pining from a distance, tooth-rotting fluff
A/N:I know my writing is shit, but there needs to be more Drukkari x Reader out there. Also, she/her pronouns are used for reader. Also also, reader’s powers are not specified.
When you had come home from work, you weren’t quite expecting to see all but three Eternals standing at your door. Ajak, Gilgamesh, and Makkari weren’t there, which is strange since this seems to be a collection of the group.
“Uh...hey?” You said. The entire group turned towards your voice, all their eyes landing on you.
“(Y/N)!” Sprite exclaimed with joy in her eyes. “I’ve missed you!”
Before you have the chance to speak, the girl has thrown herself around you to wrap you in a hug that could suffocate you. It took only two seconds for you to process before you reciprocated the act of affection.
“I’ve missed you too, Sprite.” There’s a hint of sadness in your voice that everyone picks up on. When everyone had left, you had mourned to loss of your family, wondering how exactly you were going to go on without them by your side. Sprite had stayed with you for some time until going to stay with Ajak, getting tired of bouncing from place to place. The big, bustling cities you gravitated to during your travels didn’t suite Sprite the way they did you.
Your eyes turn from the red-head to the rest of the group, suspicion clear on your face. They all stare back, different emotions reflected in each of their eyes.
“How did you find me? And why are you all suddenly showing up unannounced?” Your tone is accusatory, but you can’t quite help it. These are the same people that had abandoned you like you meant nothing to them. To do what? Go off and explore the world? Could no one have taken you with them to do so? You couldn’t help but be angry, you felt abandoned.
“Ajak had your address scribbled down on a sheet of paper stuck to the refrigerator,” Sersi says softly. “We’re here because Ajak is dead. She was killed by a Deviant at her home.”
It takes a moment for you to understand exactly what Sersi had just said to you, your heart dropping down into the pit of your stomach. Hot tears well up in your eyes as you stare at the group, flicking your gaze between all of them.
“Where’s Makkari? Gilgamesh? Are they okay?”
Every single one of them turns their gaze away from you. Everyone, other than Ikarus. “Gilgamesh died while we were retrieving Druig in the Amazon.”
Your heart now seems to entirely disappear, ripped out of your chest by some supernatural force.
“We’re going to the Domo to get Makkari after you,” Sersi continues.
You tug your bottom lip between your teeth, biting down on it until you can taste the familiar tang of blood.
“What do you need me for?”
There’s a long pause before Sprite takes a deep breath, deciding it’s better if she’s the one who breaks the news to you.
“Ajak chose Sersi to lead us, and when Sersi talked to Arishem... this planet was doomed to die, (Y/N). We were sent here to stop the Deviants from killing all of the humans so that a celestial could emerge. It’ll destroy everything.”
There’s a long stretching silence, no one daring to say a single word.
“Well, let’s not waste any time then. C’mon we’ve got to go get Makkari and make a plan.”
                                                        ~*~
Once arriving at the Domo, everyone stops for a minute, silence encompassing the group as everyone stares at the place that used to be their home. Phastos had used his technology to bring it from the ground, and now the big, black ship stays in everyone’s view, reminiscing the memories that they have here.
Stepping inside, it’s completely silent and darker than night. The only light is the flash light that Karun is holding with the camera as he films Kingo telling the story of the Eternals and all you’ve done for the world. Phastos rolls his eyes, frustrated before urging Kingo to stop.
There’s a loud pop and Phastos screeches before the light is pointed down towards Thena’s feet, a popped chip bag under her toe.
“Oh, it’s a chip bag,” Phastos says softly as he picks it up.
You take the initiative to walk ahead of the group, your feet making a soft noise as they hit the ground. Makkari knows everyone is here, she can feel it, but she waits for you to come to her.
When your eyes finally set on hers, she’s sitting in a throne, her legs thrown over one of the arms of it. Her fingers flip the pages of the book she’s reading until she finally feels your presence in the same room as her.     “Is it time to go home?” She signs.
Everyone looks at her with pity on their faces, knowing they’ll have to tell her that home was never real and none of you will ever go back.
                                                          ~*~
You’re sat in the throne Makkari previously occupied, watching over the group as they all do different things.
Makkari speaks with Kingo as he explains to her what everyone else has discovered, Druig and Ikarus pick up items they deem interesting, Sersi paces back and forth, Sprite sits next to you, Phastos uses his powers to begin creating something (what? no one quite knows yet), and Thena walks around seemingly lost in thought.
Druig and Ikarus stand, both holding items from the ship. Druig turns to Ikarus and they trade, before he walks away, heading towards Makkari. His back is pressing against hers as he speaks, the love in his voice bringing pain to your heart.
“My beautiful, beautiful Makkari. Did you miss me?” She smiles wide as she turns to him, love surrounding their entire being.
“I’m going out for a minute, I’ll be back soon,” you announce, abruptly standing from the throne and quickly walking out. Everyone’s eyes follow you concern written across their faces.
“Should we go check on her?” Sersi questions softly.
Kingo shakes his head, already having observed your feelings for the flirtatious couple before everyone split apart. “I think we should leave her be.”
Druig scoffs, his eyes drill hard into Kingo. “There are Deviants, we’re not leaving her be. Makkari and I will go check on her.” He grabs Makkari’s hand and begins to pull her towards the door, following after you.
“No!” Sprite pipes up as everyone turns to her. “If someone needs to go get her, anyone but the two of you.”
   “And why’s that?”
Sprite shakes her head, conveying to him that she won’t tell him, not even if it would end up helping you.
It’s Kingo who says the words, they fall from his mouth easily. “She’s in love with the two of you.”
They both freeze, shock written across their features as they stare at Kingo. Druig’s eyes flick to Sprite, a look of anger on her face as she glares towards Kingo, and he knows it’s the truth.
“She’s in love with us?” Makkari signs, her eyes wide. Kingo nods and Makkari turns to Druig.
“Druig, do you know what this means?” There’s a bright smile spread across her face as she looks at him.
“It means we can finally tell her,” he says as he puts his forehead against Makkari’s.
They race out the door after you, finding you sitting in the grass with a sad look on your face.
“Are you okay, m’lady?” Druig asks softly.
You sniffle before turning to him and Makkari. “I’m fine, I’d prefer to be left alone, if you don’t mind.”
There’s a coldness in your tone that makes him ache as he and Makkari take a seat on either side of you.
“How long has Sprite known?” he asks you.
   “Known about what?”
   “About you loving us.”
Tears well up in your eyes again as you flick your gaze between the speedster and the mind-controller. “She told you?”
Makkari shakes her head. “Kingo did.”
“I’m sorry. You were never supposed to find out, it was supposed to be a secret, I don’t even know how Kingo knew. I never wanted either of you to find out, I knew it would ruin our friendship and I-” You’re cut off by Makkari’s hands holding your face, love in her eyes as she looks at you.
She presses her forehead against yours, closing her eyes, and you do the same. Soft lips mold against yours as she kisses you, slow and deep, proclaiming her love without saying a single thing. When she pulls back, your head turns to Druig in fear because you just kissed his girlfriend.
You’re taken by surprise when his lips also touch your own, holding you close and making sure you feel loved. Once he’s pulled away, you look at him.
   “I... what?”
“We love you.” Makkari signs. “We’ve loved you for centuries, but we never thought you would love the both of us back.”
“Will you be with us, (Y/N)? Will you let us love you?” Druig asks.
“Yes,” the word slips from your lips before you can think. “Absolutely yes.”
Both Makkari and Druig squish you between them, happily to finally have their missing puzzle piece.
“Now let’s go save the world before it ends,” you proclaim.
