#Grandfather Eris would be cute!

Eris has to be Gwyn’s grandfather! Why would SJM write all this for nothing?
That comment from Eris:
Eris glared. “Not as far as the firstborn, but yes, Rhysand.”
That comment from Gwyn:
My grandmother was a river-nymph who seduced a High Fae male from the Autumn Court.
Feyre meeting Eris, her flame recognising his (ACOWAR):
I felt it then—stirring awake as if some stick had poked it. As if being here, in this territory, amongst its blooded royals, had somehow sparked it to life, boiling past that poison.
Nesta meeting Gwyn, her power recognising her (unknown) flames:
A crackling sort of energy buzzed around her, and Nesta’s power grumbled in answer.
(How Feyre described her rising Autumn court flames - My blood heated, and I took a breath to cool it, to cool the magic crackling at the insult.”
Eris talking about the Made dagger - Eris sucked in a breath. Feyre said, “You can sense its power.”
“There’s flame in it,” Eris said, not touching the dagger.)
We learn Lucien (and Eris) have a last name in ACOWAR:
Feyre - “Vanserra?”
Cassian - “You never knew his family name?”
When Gwyn tells Nesta her full name:
Unusual, for these Fae to use family names.
Eris to Cassian:
“Get that pitying look off your face,” Eris snarled softly. “I know what sort of creature my father is. I don’t need your sympathy.”
Gwyn to Nesta:
Gwyn marked the change. “I don’t need your pity.” The words were sharp, as clear as her teal eyes.
Eris and Gwyn can both scent people like smokehounds apparently:
Eris sniffed the night breeze. Then smiled. “She couldn’t be bothered to come inside to say hello?”
How he’d detected Mor’s lingering scent, Cassian didn’t know. Perhaps Eris and his smokehounds had more in common than he realised.
(Nesta) “How can you tell?” With their hoods on, they appeared nearly identical save for their hands.
“Their scents,” Gwyn said simply, and turned to the books she’d left on the cart.
Characteristics and Mannerism:
Towering over me (Feyre talking about Eris)
Her full height, which was slightly taller than average for Fae females (Nesta meeting Gwyn)
His red hair glinting like fire
(Her) hair shining like molten metal
His hair shone like embers in the dappled light.
Faelight danced in the rich coppery chestnut of her pin-straight hair
Eris’s face filled with cool amusement.
The priestess’s eyes glittered with amusement.
Eris snorted.
Gwyn snorted.
But Eris shrugged a shoulder.
But Gwyn shrugged.
Earning a withering glare from Eris.
Gwyn threw Azriel a withering stare as she strode past him.
He was not graceful like Eris.
As graceful as Gwyn had been.
Eris reached out a long, slender hand, letting the falling petals gather there.
With her slender, elegant limbs.
How did Eris know that?
Gwyn said, those teal eyes noticing too much.
(Eris) Was willing to be tortured to keep their secrets.
Gwyn went through her own torture to protect the children at the temple.
But though Eris’s angular features were handsome, no light shone in his eyes. No joy.
The priestess had been pretty in the library, but with that joy, that confidence as she aimed for the three priestesses, she had emerged into a beauty to rival Merrill or Mor.

A cute little ‘What-If’ scenario with Eri, what if Eri met Garp instead of Luffy? (Just to take a little break before Wano because there is a LOT happening in Wano)
Garp found Eri kidnapped and tortured by a Pirate Crew/Corrupted High Ranked Marine who’s been using Eri for their selfish purposes (He beats them to a bloody pulp for harming a child)
Garp doesn’t know nor does he care why they took Eri because he immediately takes her under his wing as her Grandpa! (Instant Adoption, and the only time Garp is 1st Grandpa!)
When Garp finds out about Eri’s power he tells her she doesn’t ever need to worry anymore as he’ll always be there to take care of her from now on so she doesn’t need to use her power unless she wants too and he’ll protect her so no one can ever force her to use her powers against her will (He’ll keep her little secret to himself, after all he made a Pinkie Promise *He’s sobbing obnoxiously over how cute and sweet she is unlike his ingrate grandsons who are ‘very mean’ to his feelings!*)
Sengoku is Eri’s other Grandfather, because he knows Garp doesn’t actually know how to properly raise a child (They Co-Parent, or rather Co-Grandparent) and he will admit Eri helps him unwind and reminds him that there’s still good in this world (He even gifted her a few coloring books and crayons)
Garp encourages Eri to eat as much as she wants but always obnoxiously sobs because she always shares her food with him since it’s all so yummy! (Eri won all the Marines hearts)
Eri likes Tsuru, Smoker, Tashigi, Coby, Fujitora, Kuzan and Hina, she’s shy around the other Marines, Borsalino and Akainu
I can definitely picture Garp telling Eri that Akainu and Ryokugyo are the ‘Dark Side’ of the Marines (Resulting in Eri calling them a ‘Bad Guy’ resulting in emotional damage for these two with Garp, Kuzan and Fujitora in the background, laughing their asses off)
Fujitora is another one of Eri’s favorites and worries about him since he’s blind (He smiles that finds it very sweet but tells her he’s alright as he promises he won’t get hurt)
Eri wears cute Sailor Dresses and lives with her Grandpa Garp whenever he goes
-Garp was seething in rage, holding the fragile bundle close to his chest as he was radiating heat from how furious he was. He glanced down, his eyes softening as he saw two large eyes peering up at him, safely wrapped up in his cloak.
-He had attacked a pirate ship, taking all of them into custody, to make Sengoku happy as he had been a little cranky as of late, but when he heard the crying of a child, he was stunned to see you there, trapped in a tiny cage, scars covering almost every inch of you.
-He didn’t know what made you so special to these pirates, but you must have been as there was a lot of research notes around about a unique, natural ability you had. From what he was able to gather it was a healing ability, but not exactly.
-Your little hand was holding onto his suit, peeking out from the cloak as he was taking you to the infirmary, and not letting anyone stop him as he kept walking.
-Sengoku had heard the commotion when Garp’s ship had arrived, as he shouted at others to come and get the pirates while he seemed to be holding something. When he saw Garp he was quick to catch up to him, calling out to him, but Garp didn’t stop, “Not stopping- catch up if you need me.”
-Sengoku was surprised to see Garp so serious for once and it made him curious as to what he was holding as they made it to the infirmary.
-Garp grabbed one of the doctors he knew would keep his mouth shut and went to a private bed, pulling the curtain around the three men before he lowered his cape from around you, revealing you to them.
-Instantly the doctor panicked, reaching for you but you curled in on yourself, pressing closer to Garp who took a seat on the bed, “This nice doctor is going to help you, Y/N.”
-You looked up at him, you trusted him, as he rescued you from these bad men after you woke up in this strange world, away from Overhaul. However, after they saw you using your ability to heal a wound you had gotten, they were quick to start researching as well, treating you just like how Overhaul did, wanting to know about your ability.
-Garp explained what he could about your ability as the doctor was very gentle, looking at your scars, seeing that they were deliberately done, as he called for a nurse to get some food, seeing that you were very malnourished as well.
-Sengoku was sitting on a chair in front of you, letting you hold onto one of his fingers, as he was trying not to scare you as they listened about your ability, the ability to rewind time, more specifically, rewind wounds.
-The doctor was very patient with you, showing you each thing, “I’m looking in your eyes with this. This is to check what your heart rate is.” And many other things like that.
-You didn’t feel as scared as he was telling you each thing he was doing or showing you on Sengoku or Garp what he was going to do to you.
-When the food arrived, you were surprised to see the mound of food, as the nurse thought it was for Garp, who always ate big meals. Your eyes were huge as the doctor was looking over what notes Garp managed to collect, while Garp was helping you eat, holding the tray for you.
-You stuffed an apple slice into your mouth and your eyes were bright and sparkly, “It’s yummy!” they had to wonder what kind of life you were living until right then, if you thought just an apple slice was yummy.
-You held up another to Garp, “Here grandpa!” Garp did not take the apple, he set the tray down then passed you to Sengoku before quickly collapsing, holding on his chest as he cried obnoxiously on how sweet you were.
-Sengoku seemed exasperated with Garp’s antics as he held you, looking down at you, “Did he tell you to call him that, Y/N?” you nodded softly, “When he wrapped me up in his fancy cape, he said he was going to be my grandpa, and nobody was going to hurt me again!”
-Sengoku was the next to have heart related issues due to your cuteness as you were so precious and he agreed to allow Garp to adopt you, because from what the doctor found out, after confirming with you that you have bad fevers after using your ability too much, that you would be the safest with them.
-That’s how Garp and Sengoku adopted you, keeping you protected while they co-parented you. You became a staple in Sengoku’s office, either coloring or sitting on his lap, wearing an adorable long sleeve dress with leggings and a matching marine hat.
-Kizaru adored you, as he would always ‘kidnap’ you, stealing you away and taking you to get ice cream or cotton candy or to take naps with you. Sengoku found it exasperating, as he wasn’t doing his work, while Garp was chasing him, demanding that you be returned to him.
-You were a little shy with Kizaru and Sakazuki, usually hiding behind Garp’s leg or Sengoku’s leg, peeking out at them. Kizaru always tried to give you candy, wanting to win you over, but Sakazuki was almost shy with you, as he was afraid of scaring you.
-Fujitora was your next ‘grandpa’ after you met him, seeing his scars and when you learned he was blind, he felt your tiny hands on his cheeks, “They don’t hurt, do they?” hearing that you were about to cry, he just smiled, cupping your hands gently, “They don’t hurt Y/N. I’m okay, I pinkie promise.”
-He had to explain what a pinkie promise was to you, and when you sounded so excited, you were quickly crying as had to be admitted to the infirmary for heart related issues right after.
-Garp and Sengoku kept your abilities under wraps, telling you not to use them at all, which you did like as your ability always took a lot out of you. Only those two and the doctor knew, so everyone else just thought that you were rescued from pirates who had been torturing you for fun, and not for your ability.
-You liked not using your ability, you felt like a normal kid, running around, and playing with other children of marine officers. It felt so nice having friends.
-Garp liked seeing you happy, but he didn’t like seeing boys around you, thinking they were going to steal you away and he would always shout and get scary, with glowing red eyes, telling the boys to get away from you.
-Garp told you all about Luffy, your big brother, since you were adopted, that makes Luffy your big brother, but he didn’t want you to be a knucklehead like him, he wanted you to stay with him and be a good girl.
-You just beamed up at him with a huge smile, “I want to stay with grandpa forever! I love you grandpa!”
-Sengoku had to watch you for the rest of the day, with you helping him stamp his paperwork, as Garp was in the infirmary, still ugly crying on how precious you were while getting yelled at by the doctors for being disruptive.
-You’re so happy that Garp found you!

So! Eri!
I've seen others talk about her and how she basically destroys some plot points in the story, so I feel like talking her and what I think.
I like her, I think she's cute. And as a concept, I think she could work wonderfully. A kid with a powerful quirk who's been abused and was practically kept as a prisoner all her life until Izuku saves her.
But the execution... left more to be desired. Let's look into her backstory.
When her quirk first came in, she accidentally rewinds her dad out of existence, causing her mom to abandon her to her grandfather. She was then placed under the care of Overhaul who wants to experiment with her quirk to resurface the Yakuza, but her grandfather refused to Eri being used as a guinea pig so Overhaul took matter in his own hands by crippling him so he wouldn't get in the way.
From there she was exposed to years of abuse and grueling experiments where she was dissected and even killed multiple times before Overhaul revived her with his quirk. In comes her meeting Izuku and kicking off the chain of events that'll lead her freedom and being with people who actually cares about her.
~~~
To start off, I kind of have a problem with how her backstory is executed. Because think about it, what does it remind you?
A character whose life has been nothing but hell?
An abusive parental figure who is clearly awful and deserves no sympathy? (Not that I'm saying or implying Overhaul does)
Meeting the one person who'll make their life better again and everything is now sunshine and rainbows?
Yeah this reads like bad fanfiction you find on Wattpad or Fanfiction.
Eri is technically Y/N or any mary sue protagonist. Except here she's a plot device to move the story along.
Oh, let's talk about that now.
Eri has become nothing more than a plot device as her arc went on. All she is at her quirk for the characters to use when the time is right. She's not allowed to be her own character and is just there when a character needs her quirk.
Thankfully it only happened once with Mirio to get his quirk back, but this led to me and others fearing that he'll use her again to heal any of the major cast that were injured during the war.
Let's move on to the aftermath of her rescue, and where she ends up. Does she end up in the foster care system? Does somebody they know take her in?
The answer: Aizawa takes her in.
Yes, Mr. Expels everyone and plays favorites, is the one chosen for the job of watching over a traumatized little girl with a powerful quirk. Because he can just erase her quirk if it gets out of control.
That's literally the reason she's left in his care.
Good job there guys! Put the child in the care of a guy who hasn't gotten over the death of his best friend and would most likely neglect her! I'm sure that won't backfire in ANY way!
~~~
So with all that I've said, what would I change to make her role in the story more plausible? Well simple
-Change her quirk to that of a healing quirk that can't restore quirks or restore lost limbs.
-Change her backstory that she just got dumped with an abusive relative that Izuku just took off with her in his arms since, you know, he was in abusive dynamic himself with Bakugou. Afterwards they discover she was being abused and get the relative arrested.
-From there the arc can just be about helping Eri realize she's not in danger anymore and help her get on the path to heal from what she's been through.
-Putting her with someone not Aizawa, I would suggest Inko as she's the mother figure she needs.
And that's it for my thoughts about this character, feel free to add in what you would've done with her because I would love to hear your ideas.

The Eri Problem
I'm going to get some flack for this, but I've never been a fan of Eri. Yeah, she's a cute kid who was dealt an awful hand in life, but I hate the way she's written/placed in the story. I think she could have been so much more if different things were done with her character, but as things stand right now, she's just a walking-talking plot device. I'll try and break down why I'm not a fan of how she's been written thus far and what it means for the story thus far:
(sidenote: this has some anti Bakugou and anti Aizawa elements, as well as some UA critical ranting, so it's also been tagged as such)
1. Her backstory
Her backstory sounds like something straight out of fanfiction, and while other people may like that (I'm not judging if you do), I'm just not a fan of it. You have characters with much more realistic backstories such as Izuku (absent father, mercilessly bullied due to being Quirkless), Shoto (hospitalized mother, has an extremely famous public figure for a father that happens to be abusive), and Kota (hero parents were killed in the line of duty when he was a toddler, raised by his aunt as a result of that).
Then you have Eri: she erased her father from existence on accident (she also has no birth certificate for whatever reason), causing her mother to hate/fear her to the point where she's put in the care of the Yakuza. The head of the Yakuza - who happens to be her maternal grandfather - becomes unable to care for her, leading Overhaul to experiment on her for his Quirk erasing bullets. She then gets taken in by Eraserhead and the staff of UA. In fanfiction (depending on how it's done), I wouldn't mind seeing this, but seeing this done in canon just doesn't sit with me.
2. Her Quirk
I'm not saying anything new here, given that this is by far the most debated thing about her, but her Quirk just lowers the stakes of the story to me. Why should I worry about Mirio being Quirkless when we all know that Eri's going to restore his Quirk? For that matter, why don't they have her restore Aizawa's leg and eye? Why don't they have her restore All Might back to his prime? If they have her do one of these things, why not have her do the other two?
3. Her Role
The above two points kind of converge into this one, and I think it's one of the biggest reasons why I have such a problem with her character: she HATES her Quirk (for totally valid reasons, I'd hate Rewind if I had it), yet is used by UA to restore Mirio's Quirk with no consideration for her own feelings on the matter. That doesn't sit right with me, and I've seen a few other people agree.
She's also used to rehabilitate Aizawa and Bakugou's images without giving them proper character development.
Aizawa is a mess of a man who has no business taking care of any child, regardless of their age. I understand that pragmatically, he's the best option until she gains control of her Quirk, but we don't even see him take care of her! Whenever she's trotted out in the story for her designated cute moments, he more often than not just leaves her in the care of his class. I will give him props for sacrificing his leg for her sake, but that's just about the only big "bonding" moment that they have. People often point to Aizawa's relationship with Eri as evidence that he's not just some asshole teacher, but that just raises a question for me: if he supposedly cares for his students as much as he does for Eri, why don't we see him loosening up on his assholery towards them? Why don't we see him reflecting on his frankly horrible treatment of them (Izuku in particular) and resolving to try and do better? In the light novels, we see how much Eri adores Izuku (wanting Santa to visit him as well, asking if Izuku was okay when he ran off to get the candy apples to surprise her with), which would have been a perfect set up for this.
*bonus complaint, but how can these teachers take such good care of Eri and then turn around and pretend to kidnap the parents of Class 1A for Parents Day? How can they just sit by and let Bakugou treat everyone around him the way he does? How can they say that they see these kids as their own children if they not only do nothing to help Izuku, Aoyama, and Kaminari control their Quirks, but they let Izuku drop out of UA to go fight All For One and Shigaraki? How can they ignore all of the child abuse red flags Todoroki throws up? How can Midnight make outright sexual comments that canonically make the students uncomfortable?
In the 6th light novel, she's also used to teach Bakugou to not be such an asshole 24/7. I don't even need to get into why leaving a traumatized 6 year with such a mean-spirited bully is a horrible idea... then again, Aizawa thought he could resolve the bad blood between Izuku and Bakugou by forcing them to work together, and we all know how well that turned out (Bakugou backhanding Izuku and outright stating he'd rather fail than work with Izuku), so what the hell do I know?
In my honest opinion, Eri would have been much happier if she had somehow gotten her Quirk erased and was taken in by Mirio and his family. She could still be in the story, but more along the lines of how Kota is in the story: very occasionally popping up to show their recovery and their love for Izuku.
Maybe they could even start an Izuku fanclub together.

Chapter 1: The Thought that Counts (In Which Nothing Happens)
Eris x OC | Rated E | Read on AO3 | Read on tumblr below the cut
Gianna of Montesere's life is shattered when her family becomes the target of a chilling assassination attempt. Forced into exile at her estranged father's side in the Autumn court, she embarks on a journey that thrusts her into the treacherous depths of Prythian's most perilous family. Amidst the dazzling highs and heart-wrenching lows of cutthroat politics, Gianna discovers an unexpected love in Eris Vanserra that turns her world upside down.
Warnings: Typical violence and scheming, gambling, old-school slut shaming
Read if you like: slow burn, enemies to lovers, political intrigue, worldbuilding, cute dogs
Gianna watched her cousin Ludivine pull wishes from the garden fountain. The dark-haired female stood barefoot near the middle, where four ornate lions were perched on a central pillar, mouths opened wide and spewing out thin streams of water. The female carefully navigated around the creatures, one hand bunching the hem of her purple organza dress so it wouldn't be ruined. Then, humming to herself, Ludivine skimmed her hand across the water and stopped to pick up a coin from the bottom of the fountain. She curled her hand around the metal and held it out, eyes glazing over for a moment.
"They wished for a child," she said with a dreamlike quality to her voice, power rippling around her. Then, when she snapped out of the trance, she gave a haughty laugh and tossed it to the ground beside her.
Gianna's other cousin, Alois, a male several decades older than her and Ludivine, smoothed his hair back and held out a hand, not sparing a glance at his sister's antics. The abandoned coin flew to his fingers before he added it to a growing pile beside him.
"It's rude to read the wishes," he said halfheartedly, turning a page of his book. He had been engrossed in the novel for hours. It took Gianna almost no time at all to realize he had switched the book jacket from a historical text to hide the fact that he was reading yet another erotic novel.
Ludivine threw an accusatory glare at her brother. "Since when have you cared?" she said. She chose another coin and read off the wish. "Good health and a long life. Boring!"
This time she tossed the coin to Gianna, who caught the gleaming piece of gold and added it to her own pile at the table she was sitting.
"It's not like they actually come true," she said, meeting Gianna's eyes and then dunking her hand back into the water to fish out another poor fae's dream.
"It's the thought that counts." Gianna countered with a huff. She would rather die than admit it, but she had come here several times under cover of night to add her own wishes to the hundreds in the fountain's basin. The gardens of the Palace of Splendor were open to everyone, including their subjects, so many fae stopped by to offer their dreams in the hope that the Mother would grant them. So far, none of Gianna's dreams of meeting and falling in love with a prince from a neighboring kingdom had come true, but these things didn't happen overnight.
Gianna shifted uncomfortably in her seat and gazed back at the palace. Tonight may be different, she reminded herself. Tonight was her grandfather's birthday, and royals from across the continent were arriving to celebrate at the palace. The males of Montesere were far too hedonistic for her tastes if her cousin Alois was any indicator. More than once, she had caught him under the influence of mirthroot with multiple females squirming beneath him, equally euphoric and unraveling. If she was being honest, she preferred her males to be more traditional, which earned her endless teasing from both her cousins. Montesere was the one place where fae could live out their desires, and many traveled from other kingdoms so they could indulge. The fact that Gianna actively avoided these activities was unusual, at least according to her family.
"Thinking about your depressing males again?" Ludivine sang from the fountain.
Gianna rolled her eyes. "I'm debating how quickly it'll take for Alois to sneak out of the party and into one of our guest's bed chambers tonight," she lied. Alois snorted and threw a coin across the table at Gianna. Ludivine giggled and stepped out of the fountain into her shoes so she could throw her arms around her older brother.
"Oh, we both know that's not going to happen tonight. Alois is banned from leaving the dancehall without a chaperone." She wiggled her eyebrows and squeezed her brother tightly.
"We all have chaperones," he said, pulling her arm away from where she had it tucked under his chin and around his neck.
"True," Ludivine sighed, "some of us are too fabulously slutty." Gianna didn't disagree. If Alois was indulgent, Lulu was downright obscene, at least from what Gianna had heard secondhand from some of the courtiers.
"At least you're aware," Gianna said, biting back a grin. Her cousins both glared before they all broke out into laughs.
"Don't worry, Gigi," Ludivine said, reaching over to pinch her cousin's cheek. "One day, you will meet a male you like and never close your legs again."
"Lulu!" Gianna leaned over the table to grab at her cousin, but the female ducked out of the way.
"It's true!" she teased.
Gianna fought the urge to tell Ludivine that she was one to talk but saw Alois shaking his head. "If you two are going to have a spat, I will find our uncle instead."
"Fine!" Gianna said, gathering all the coins into a pouch, "We should all go bother him anyway. I haven't seen him since he arrived back here from Prythian." -- They found their uncle sparring with some courtiers at the training fields on the other side of the estate. Gianna hadn't seen him for months, but the time away had suited him. His skin was sunkissed, and freckles bloomed on his face, peppering his nose and cheeks. As Montserre's emissary, Mattheo traveled quite a bit. However, Gianna suspected that the captain of his private boat had more to do with the extended absences than actual work as an emissary.
Today, instead of his usual finery, he wore dirty white stockings tucked into wrinkled pants cuffed just below the knee. He had discarded his embroidered jacket in favor of wearing a simple vest. And despite the aggressive parrying back and forth with his rapier, not a single strand of chestnut hair was out of place.
Gianna watched eagerly while her cousins chatted with her uncle's friends. They were young and rakish like Mattheo, and she would be lying if she hadn't thought about pursuing a relationship with one of the males. But she was far too shy - skittish, as Alois would say. And they were far too forward. As though she were emphasizing Gianna's point, Lulu had lain her head across one of the males' lap, letting him get an obvious eyeful of her cleavage spilling out the top of her dress. He reached down to caress her cousin's waist and murmured something to her.
Gianna rolled her eyes and ignored the jealousy burning in her stomach. She knew the yearning would drive her mad one day, but maybe the Prythian half of her heritage gave her pause. She returned her attention to her uncle, who had gained the advantage in his match.
Mattheo stepped forward once, then back twice, then lunged. He parried a particularly clever jab and, noticing his niece's rapt attention, gave her a goofy wink. He was the youngest of her grandfather's children and the most entertaining. Gianna had fond memories of him watching when she was a child and her mother was away. Together they would traipse around the palace grounds, fighting pretend dragons until she was too tired to keep her eyes open.
Now she saw only him whenever he was between travels, which was far too infrequent as it was. She had asked to go with him once, but her mother declined, leaving no room for discussion. So, for now, she'd settle for hearing her uncle's stories.
Finally, the two males stopped sparring, Mattheo deftly disarming his companion. He handed his rapier to a servant and grabbed a cloth to wipe the sheen from his forehead.
"What brings you three to this part of the estate?" he said.
"Boredom!" Lulu wailed, sitting up and pouting her lips in practiced sadness. "There's simply nothing to do! We've been kicked out until the party."
Mattheo chuckled and patted her head, "Perhaps it is because you three are the root of all trouble for the servants."
Alois cocked his head and narrowed his eyes at their uncle. "Three?"
Their uncle let out a hearty laugh. "Am I to understand that all of you were not responsible for turning one of the guest suites into a gambling den?"
"The one you gladly attended?" Alois replied cooly.
"The one in which I won all your little games?" Mattheo replied with a smirk. Gianna rolled her eyes at them both.
He was right. Nearly a month ago, they had quietly converted a suite into a betting parlor. It had initially been Alois' idea, but the trio had been bored and spent their evenings slowly bringing in and rearranging furniture. Alois was careful to admit only the courtiers he knew were hungry to climb the ranks of court. Lulu had brought in some of her friends to entertain their guests. And Gianna, well, Gianna had played. Card games were her specialty - something that Mattheo had taught her when she had gotten too old to play dragon-hunters anymore. Eventually, their parents caught wind of their endeavors and shut the establishment down only after Mattheo emptied the den funds with his bets.
"You cheated," Alois said. He had been insisting this ever since Mattheo had won every single game the last night the gambling den had been running.
"Perhaps? Or perhaps you aren't as good as you think you are," her uncle replied. Alois shifted and flexed a hand.
Sensing that neither male would back down, Gianna jangled her bag of coins to get their attention.
"How about a rematch at cards?" she said. "We brought coins!"
Thankfully, the tension melted away at her suggestion. Alois backed down and took the bag from his cousin. Mattheo grinned wide and looked back at his friends, still doting on Lulu. One handed her a handkerchief to wipe her false tears.
"We should," he said, "before your cousin charms my friends away."

This little thing is always pretending to be me in front of my friends and trying to kill someone! ... Why doesn't she understand that murder doesn't require witnesses?
Daffodil:
Poor baby... I don't understand why dad doesn't do anything about all this?
Bonus:
Callisto:
Dad says he's bad, mom says he's good... I don't know
Taisiya:
Dad didn't talk much about her, I didn't even know that dad had another sister
Artemis:
Queen Artemis? She always looks so sad, is it because dad chose mom over her? I would be sad too, but I think that guy wouldn’t have lived long because of Eli
Sunshine:
Crazy beauty! She's a lot of fun! Also, if I don't want to listen to Eli's ravings about mushrooms, then I can send her to her
Vivi:
I saw her on the street several times, but she always pretended that we didn't know each other, I hope Daffodil is okay with Aunt Vi
Shelki:
I often help her dress fashionably when she can't! Aunt Shel is very kind!!
Tace:
... Is she really older than me? She looks 10... But she likes my and Eli's wings! She's also very cute
--------------------------🦊----------------------------
Elva's attitude towards others:
Reaper:
Looking at grandfather’s work, their family life looked as if grandfather went out to buy bread and returned with milk all the time
Geno:
I like to listen to my grandmother’s stories about how she ignored my grandfather, now I know how I will torture my future boyfriend!
Hope:
Hope is so old... And why did she love someone like Grandpa Dream? I thought with age comes wisdom... He doesn't deserve you, Grandma Hope!
Dream:
I don’t know, I don’t give a fuck, I didn’t even see him
Ink:
She cheated on my grandfather, how else can I feel about her? The Drop is probably all in her, crazy
Nightmare:
Some kind of evil guy... I don't know
Cross:
A? Who? Baker? Do you think I remember every baker I see? Am I crazy according to you?
Merciless:
He’s seriously like Drop’s hostage, what kind of eternal BDSM games do they have there? Does Merciless know a safe word?
Lux:
I only saw her in photographs, and then in Miss Hope’s photo album, dad cut out all the photos with her from his photo album
Pallete:
Dad is creepy, I love mom more, otherwise he sees what that crazy woman is doing with Mr. Merciless and Daff, and doesn’t do anything!
Goth:
I love my mother, I also want to become Death in the future and then all the offenders of Eri will go to the bottom in the lava lake of hell!
Drop:
She's crazy, what else can I say?
Eira:
My bitch, I like the way she braids my hair, it’s beautiful and comfortable! How the hell does she do that?
Daffodil:
No matter how sadistic I am, even I feel sorry for this little girl, her parents are fucked up, both of them
Bonus:
Callisto:
Until you decide who to believe, mom or dad, you can go crazy, so I don’t know
Taisiya:
If it weren’t for my mother, Eri and I probably wouldn’t have known about her, well, we’ve never seen her and don’t even know where she lives
Artemis:
Queen Artemis, I heard that she was dad's beloved, but for some reason he decided to stay with mom... Why?
Sunshine:
She's crazy... She's fun to be around! I wonder if she can dye my hair too?
Vivi:
Uhh, I only remember how she argued very strongly with Drop and took away Daffodil, then it was very loud, she was screaming so much... I understand her, Drop is a crazy bitch
Shelki:
Aunt Shel is very funny! I love looking at her schyte collection!
Tace:
She's creepy... This is cool! I like her!

Sometimes I wonder about how Eri would end up after the series.
She doesn't stay with Aizawa long, of course. He's a hero and a teacher, he's very busy, he doesn't have time to take care of a child past the time she gets ahold of her Quirk. And by that time, of course, her grandfather has woken up, and of course a child should be given to the closest living blood relative for care. So off she goes to live with her grandfather.
Years pass. Of course they do--she's growing up, it's what children do. Everyone around her says she's growing into a beautiful young lady, that she'll start getting suitors soon, that boys would gladly fight over her. She should like the praise, she thinks--that's what her grandfather tells her, that she should strive to be pretty and demure and feminine. She does not like the praise. It grates against her in a way she cannot explain. It sets her teeth on edge, claws against the inside of her skin, makes her hyper-aware of the eyes on her and how much she feels like she's an imposter in someone else's skin. She much rather prefers staring at the wall, getting lost in her own head and distracting herself from an existence full of pain she barely understands. She does not seek pain; she runs from it.
People see her empty smiles and sometimes ask if she's okay. "I'm just tired," she says. She's been tired for years.
One time she snaps at someone who calls her cute. Her grandfather punishes her by taking away all of her pants and t-shirts, saying that she needs to "learn to be a proper woman" and not end up like her uncle, who refused to be a proper man, and look how he ended up.
(She hates the idea that she could be like him. She loves the idea that she could be like him.)
(Really, when she hears that there was someone else out there who doesn't fit in the same way that she doesn't fit, it's only a matter of time.)
The idea scares her when it first comes to her. She does not seek pain; she runs from it, drowns it in daydreams and time-wasting to ignore the way she wants to scream every time some boy leers at her, every time she has to wear a skirt, every time an adult coos over how pretty she is. She shoves the idea out of her mind, wraps a pillow around her head to keep it from getting back in again, but it doesn't work. The idea comes back in all its terrifying and tempting glory.
She does not seek pain, she runs from it, but maybe if instead she runs through it, to another side that isn't a small, wet, damp, dark corner inside her mind--
Oh god, she'd never make it through, she'd drown first.
She has money in an account, doesn't she? It would be easy to use it to buy a few changes of clothes, ones that don't make her hate her reflection, buy some long-lasting snacks, maybe even pay some less-than-upstanding-citizens for information--
Her grandfather barely lets her go out with her friends (not really friends, but hanging out with them keeps her from getting bullied). He'd never let her do this.
Her grandfather didn't have to know, though, did he? Even Sugiyama Shinkichi, former oyabun of the infamous Shie Hassaikai, has to sleep sometime. He's old. His health is starting to fail.
He doesn't even have to wake up, something ugly whispers in the back of her head.
No. No no no no no. She is not going to do that, that would be horrible. And convenient. And horrible. She needs to go to sleep.
It doesn't come easy, and almost against her will she wakes up with half-formed plans. She tells herself not to look for opportunities, not to add details to those plans, but she sees them everywhere, and it's only a few days before she knows exactly when and where and how to do the first step.
She does not seek pain. But on Thursday she asks her grandfather if she can stay out late tomorrow, and he for once says yes. Friday morning, along with the bare minimum of her school supplies, she shoves a wad of cash into her backpack, as much as she could withdraw from her account. Friday afternoon, instead of heading home, she chops off all her hair in the bathroom, changes into a nondescript hoodie and jeans, and boards the train to another prefecture, and heads to the most run-down, red-light, crime-ridden section of Osaka, where ex-members of the Hassaikai are said to lurk.
She hopes that she'll find Chisaki Kai there.

Haru's Birthday Weekend (Prompt: 💛)
What are your favorite relationship(s) in the series? Can be Driver/Buddy partnership, family ties, platonic, romantic, or otherwise.
ALL OF THE ABOVE (just kidding). But I treasure all the relationships in this series and would love to see some of them expanded upon in fanwork.
Tumblr media
Favorites though, let's see...
(No spoilers, this time! Just rambling)
Haru/Yuujin, perhaps obviously? This is a god-tier, OTP-status ship for me, ehehe ^^; Eri and Astra's relationship (and relationship evolution) is also really great. I can see them as either platonic or romantic for sure. Eri/Ai is also something that I hopped on the bandwagon for a long time ago, and it's a ship I still really like/want to see more of. Rei and Yuujin NEED to have more interactions in a post-canon world and I don't even care what that looks like, they just need closure, rotfl. There is also like... one fanart out there showing Astra and Hajime hanging out and y'know, I'm here for that too, in some post-canon timeframe. My favorite Driver-Buddy dynamic in the series is Yuujin and Offmon T^T
Believe it or not, I'm kinda... a Rei/Ai shipper. This is Tumblr user @raynef-art's fault, from a long long time ago. It's about the CONTRAST. I still have snippets of a hurt/comfort/getting-to-know-you fic about them in my drafts taking place after Episode 25 that would end with Ai giving Rei a pink ribbon. There's fanart.
And based on all the dialogue between Elena and Rei in Episode 42, I kinda... ship them too. That one would be WAY more antagonistic and probably not realistic at all, but shhhh......... I like thinking about it.................
And idc what anyone says, I think Ryuutaro and Jenny's (Astra's parents) meet-cute and Jenny still gushing over her husband 11+ years later is adorable. They didn't need to show us that, but they did. I have headcanons that Haru's dad is alive and well but working abroad, and that man also loves his wife and kid SO!!!!! much. I'm also kind of fascinated that Ai's grandfather and Denemon knew each other.......... lol.
Thanks for reading!

i just finished scars and shadows and to say i am obsessed is an understatement. thank you for all the time and effort you put in to this beautiful story, i will miss the characters you made me love. im sorry i didn't comment as i read, i literally binged it back to back. lol
btw, i especially loved gwyn and eris becoming friends that was sooo cute and now that ive read it i cant even accept that its not actually canon. eris is my fave and to see someone do justice to his character and give him a believable redemption arc is so satisfying.
thanks!
a secret fan
Dear secret fan, thank you for your kindness today, I really needed it!
I'm so happy you love Eris as much as I do. I could write a whole PhD thesis on why I think his story is yet to be told in truth. I know a really popular theory is that Eris is Gwyn's grandfather - and I totally think that theory is strong. BUT, I really wanted to show character development in Gwyn by her making a friend that is separate from the IC and equally powerful in their own right. I think their personalities would make for the best banter and I kind of loved that he was an agent of hilarious chaos to the plot.
Tumblr media
Btw, @captain-of-the-gwynriel-ship and I have casted him as Klaus from TVD and no one will ever change my mind on that.

˗ˏˋPIVOTAL ROLES´ˎ˗
Projects I take part in that are important in my career!
‘𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔’
Tumblr media
❝ [A brief summary]
"Embark on a journey of teenage chaos and mayhem in the musical adaptation of the classic comedy film, it’s a thrilling and engaging theatrical experience that successfully captures the dark and twisted humor of the original. The songs themselves are catchy and memorable, effortlessly drawing audiences into the world of high school drama and teenage angst."
❝ [Added commentary]
I play Heathers McNamara (the yellow one) which was my second ever role. I was cast before my first movie even debut because there was so much buzz surrounding my name. It also warms my theater kid heart to be apart of this production, however I was chosen for this role specifically because my schedule was pretty full just before and after march for ‘The Queen of Hearts’ press stuff.
‘𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝑴𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒅’
Tumblr media
❝ [A brief summary]
"Join Ariel as she embarks on a perilous journey to experience the world beyond her undersea kingdom, and discovers the power of true love against all odds. The Little Mermaid is a stunning cinematic experience that is both a faithful adaption of the beloved Disney classic and an intriguing new take on the familiar story. With breathtaking visuals, an unforgettable and stirring score, and a moving and heartbreaking tale of true love and sacrifice, this film is surely to wow audiences of all ages and leave them feeling as though they have truly been transported into the magical tale. The performances of the cast are fantastic and the direction is superb, creating an impactful and emotional film that leaves an indelible impact."
❝ [Added commentary]
Disney heard about my casting in the Heathers movie musical and asked me to come audition for this project, and of course I got the job. Another movie I was cast in even before any project I’d worked on was released. Even in my OR I wanted to play Ariel if I ever had the chance, so of course I made it happen. Ariel is my favorite, and Aaron Johnson was cast as Prince Eric, what a cute story for our future kids!
‘𝑨𝒕𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒔: 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒆’
Tumblr media
❝ [A brief summary]
“A naive-but-determined museum cartographer Milo Thatch, dreams of completing the quest begun by his late grandfather, a famous explorer. When a journal surfaces, an eccentric billionaire funds an expedition and the action shifts to high gear.”
❝ [Added commentary]
Another live action remake of an animated film I like. In this one I’ll play Helga because she’s hot and so am I she’s kind of a villain and I feel like that would be a fun character to play.
‘𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒃𝒂𝒅: 𝑳𝒆𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝑺𝒆𝒂𝒔’
Tumblr media
❝ [A brief summary]
“The brave mariner Sinbad battles raging elements, mutinous dogs and fearsome monsters to retrieve the Book of Peace after being framed by the treacherous Goddess of Chaos. A live action remake of a DreamWorks animation.”
❝ [Added commentary]
I loved this movie when I was younger and always liked the character Eris, so of course I’ll play her in the live action adaptation. Seriously she is one of the most iconic characters how could I not.
'𝑴𝒓. 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒓𝒔. 𝑺𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒉'
Tumblr media
❝ [A brief summary]
“John and Jane Smith a couple in a stagnating marriage, live a deceptively mundane existence. However, each has been hiding a secret from the other: they are assassins working for adversarial agencies. When they are both assigned to kill the same target, Benjamin Danz, the truth comes to the surface. Finally free from their cover stories, they discover that they have been assigned to kill each other, sparking a series of explosive attacks.”
❝ [Added commentary]
Since Aaron and I are the Hollywood couple we were an obvious choice for this remake. I thought it would be fun since Brand and Angelina were also in the same position.
‘𝑱𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝑩𝒐𝒏𝒅’
Tumblr media
❝ [A brief summary]
“James Bond, the skilled secret agent, is tasked with finding and stopping a dangerous terrorist group that is intent on destroying the world. He must navigate the complex web of secrets and intrigue as he attempts to thwart the evil plan and save the world."
❝ [Added commentary]
In this movie I play a Bond girl, I haven’t, nor will I, scripted anything about this movie. Aaron Johnson will play James Bond just like in this reality, so I thought it would be a fun excuse to be in another movie with him. Since we’re the Hollywood IT couple I’m sure studios would love to capitalize off it.

All Their Stuff
It didn't start with me - saving and hanging on to things. In fact I'd say I was at least a third generation pack rat on both sides of my family. And for this I am very grateful. I mean, it's fun having this stuff. And I think you can see by the volume and variety of it that a sort of family tradition developed, a way of looking at objects and especially documents of our daily lives, wherein collecting and saving them was just the normal thing to do. Ticket stubs, newspaper clippings, aka scrapbook items. Photos of course everyone saves, that is until the generation that doesn't comes along and donates them by the album full to their local thrift store. I volunteer at one, and have adopted a couple of those families, saving them from the dumpster. And we save documents, right? Tax returns, insurance documents, wills, deeds. And salt and pepper shakers.
These are some of the oldest things I have:
Tumblr media
My father's mother's baby photo. Besse Grace Moore was born in 1883. There are not a lot of snapshots from the 19th century, which is when all my grandparents were born, although some of my grandmother's studio portraits were pretty candid seeming and casual.
Tumblr media
Here she is in 1893, looking very calm and collected at 10. The hat. The ribbon everywhere. The Moores lived in and around Panora, and Guthrie Center, Iowa. I like this next one, which shows more personality that usual for photos of the time, or is that a misconception? Perhaps this is a holdover from the early days of photography - long exposures due to slower film, or plates.
Tumblr media
Ah ha! It's from her I inherited my droopy left upper eye lid.
If I had to guess, I'd say the genetic aspect of my struggles with depression was something she and I shared. There's a sadness or loneliness in her expression here that she also hints at in her correspondence (yes, I have a lot of the letters she wrote to my parents). She's often on the verge of throwing a pity party. Ruth, her daughter-in-law, my mom, used to poke fun of Grandma's sadsack-ery, quoting a line supposedly common to her letters, "Thought surely I would hear from you today." I just now realized - I have those letters. I can find out, was my mom just doing Besse schtick?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I would love to hear the conversation around these outfits. Who's idea was it? Was it a local fashion? Did they make them themselves or have them made? I never knew my grandmother to be a seamstress but she died when I was 11, in 1968, so she may have given it up long before. Although again, in her letters and diaries I don't remember her talking about sewing, but there's much I have yet to read. She does go on and on about the gardening, canning, washing, ironing and all the other daily chores of an Iowa farm wife in the first half of the 20th century. Chores and the weather in fact are two of her favorite subjects.
Tumblr media
Speaking of farms and farming - though now an old goat, I was once and briefly a goat hill. The buffalo plaid jacket became a thing thanks to the Grumpy Old Men movies. Ugh. As if Minnesota and Minnesotans needed anything more to be cute and smug about - they've now co-opted my grandfather's hunting jacket. That would be Grant Williams, husband to Besse above. I don't remember him as he died when I was just 2.5 but I love having his jacket, complete with a game pocket where you can put your dead animals. Don't worry, the pocket's interior is (or rather was) rubberized so the blood and guts rinse right off. I wish I could find a date and manufacturer but the labels are long gone. When I was a kid, at our house on E-as-in-easy-avenue, this jacket hung by the kitchen door. Someone had painted while wearing it and it was the coat your threw on in cold weather to take out the garbage, or better yet, burn the trash! Outside the picket fence, between it and the alley, was the 50 gallon drum with the to top cut out. It sat on cinder blocks and taking out the trash was definitely not a chore for this young pyromaniac.
One hot dry summer afternoon before I was old enough and Ruth did this chore, a burning phone bill or cast off mailing from RCA Record Club was sent aloft by the hot air above the burning barrel and, landing on a pine shrub, set it ablaze. Luckily, Mrs. A. of the perfect lawn next door, who often surveilled the Williams backyard from her kitchen window as she did the dishes, rushed to Ruth's aid brandishing one of her several garden hoses. That was a summer, for sure.
Compare this to the dark of an Iowa January evening - dark even before dinner, which is saying something when dinner is at 5:30 during Walter Cronkite. Ruth is watching me from our kitchen window. I'm 13 and lighting a fire so I guess it made sense. The barrel by this time is rusted and the bottom is mostly hole. Sometimes you have to tend the fire a bit, it's snowed and that doesn't help. I have a special stick to stir the flames. This trash load includes the contents of the bathroom wastebasket.
Now, I'm not athletic. I'm the last kid picked for every gym class team ever formed. But as I stand there in the snow in Grandpa's hunting jacket, watching the trash burn, I discover a flaming Kotex pad, now ball of fire and fallen through the hole at the bottom, makes the perfect puck to my suddenly hockey stick. It's almost meditative, batting the burning pad around, all sparkled over with red embers and flame on the snowy ground.
When come in for dinner, flushed with cold and pride at doing my chore, I don't know what to say to Mom when, embarrassed and cross, she attempts to scold me for doing something she's too prudish to describe. "That burning paper you were playing with," is as close as she can get. The quickest way out of this unpleasant moment is to deny everything and go wash my hands for supper.
To stretch this cooling off moment just a little further, I weigh myself. 110 pounds. Standing on that very same scale today, dressed, I weigh 159, including the hemp Adidas. Jim and Ruth bought the scale with King Korn stamps, and there is probably a partially filled book of those somewhere in all my stuff, too.

Part 2 of my Eri and Overhaul Splurge (I accidentally cut my split my theory in half)
This also means Shigaraki might be Eri’s adopted big brother (The ‘Scariest’ Sibling relationship in BNHA)
And if you notice, Eri has white hair and red eyes (Her mother was shown to also have white hair, but who’s to say that wasn’t supposed to keep you off?)
And because of All for One’s Quirk, he has some expectation that his offspring will have devastating Quirks as well (If not then he also expects that as well)
There’s also the factor that if any of his offspring don’t reach his expectations and don’t do what he wants then he’ll also kill them regardless (Like a Narcissist Parent who manipulates to get what he wants but will show hostility, even abuse if he doesn’t get what he wants)
All for One probably didn’t have any interest in Eri because she didn’t show a useful quirk (As she just made someone vanish) and her whereabouts became unknown but he didn’t care what happened to her (As he cared more about Shigaraki and his development than some missing offspring)
Because while he likes to and is good at hiding his tracks, he also gives me vibes that he doesn’t really care nor concerned about any missing ‘loose ends’
However, if he learns just what kind of devastation Eri can make because of her Quirk then he’s ‘Excited’ and wants to meet his ‘Daughter’
He would probably become very obsessed and almost Yandere-like (But Platonically) over her since she reminds him of his little brother
He would think of Eri as one of his Possessions because he MADE her, meaning she belongs to him and no one else (He’s not going to make the same mistake twice)
He would find it amusing how ‘soft’ he is for his child (He would be shocked for just a moment when he notices how similar Eri’s eyes are to his brother)
All for One wants Eri to see him as her whole world and no one is allowed to take her away from him
If All for One is Eri’s Father then that also makes Shigaraki Eri’s ‘Brother’
This also means One for All is Eri’s Uncle and in a way, Deku is her brother (Including those who are also All for One’s Successors also being her Family)
Heh, All Might is Eri’s Grandfather/Great Uncle (It’s cute)
Though this makes All for One very scornful since these ‘Pests’ are trying to take one of his ‘Possessions’ (Eri) again
All for One would be amazed with Eri’s Quirk since it’s Devastating in a different kind of way (A ‘Heroic’ Quirk that’s actually Villainous in disguise)
I wouldn’t put this past All for One to do evil and cruelty on this scale (As he desires to be the ‘Demon King’, so that means he’s done all crimes and actions of unspeakable Evil during his time alive) so who’s to say he wouldn’t make offspring for his whims (Or even ‘Boredom’) for his own goals/amusement
However, I think Eri would be the most horrified because she might go back to her old thinking, as she’s not just a ‘Cursed Human’ but a ‘Monster’ and she’s the child of a Demon (And wonder why was she even born at all)
If this is actually true (Not all of it, but my theory that Eri is All for One’s Biological Daughter, or even his descendant) I will be shocked since this makes Eri even more important and give an ever deeper relationship between Eri and Deku (Since this technically makes them family, along with All Might, Nana Shimura and even Shigaraki)
This means that the One for All Users are technically family with All for One (It’s in a loop between AFO and OFA, then Nana Shimura and Shigaraki, and branches out to All Might and Deku)
All for One takes Quirks, One for All gives Quirks, Shigaraki can decay anything he touches and Eri can rewind anything she touches (Parallels between Father/Uncle and now Brother/Sister)
However, Eri’s Power is both
Just to clarify, I thought about this from a weird dream I had with Eri running away constantly from ‘Bad People’ (And there was also Sonic and Shadow the Hedgehog??) If I ever dream it’s always weird and bizarre
I have late night thoughts about a lot series like this, about what-ifs that could happen in a series. This is actually an astute observation- with Eri being one of AFO's descendants, as it would make sense on why her quirk is so heavily sought after by those who know what it can do and while Dadzawa and the rest of UA is so intent on keeping her safe.
I could see Shigaraki being that kind of scary big brother, if Deku manages to save him and get through to him, if they are actually biologically related. However, I could see him being that kind of rough big brother, who doesn't like anyone but is soft on her, but don't mention it or he will deny it and get defensive.
The worldbuilding and lore behind BNHA is vast, and I wouldn't put it past the author to pull something like this.
This was an enjoyable and eye opening read.
Thank you for this!

Autumn Court Heritage: Gywneth Berdara
I am a supporter of Eris being Gwyn's grandfather. Not father. GRANDfather.
Her father can be whoever the fuck for me okay?
And I have a hc where Eris actually loved Gwyn's grandmother. Like truly loved her. In the book it's said that Gwyn's grandmother was seduced by a high fae male- what if she seduced the high fae male as well?
I swear if this shit is true, I will cry.
It would be so cute if Eris and Gwyn's grandmother were like "first loves" or "forbidden love". Like Romeo and Juliet? But with the whole Beron issue and being raised prejudice for lesser fae, Eris and Gwyn's grandmother end their "affair" sort of like how Helion and the LotA did. Which broke Eris's heart and made him even more meaner than before.. I guess
But ofc, Eris got Gwyn's grandmother pregnat without him knowing. And she went to Sangravah in fear of what would happen to her baby, Eris and herself if Beron ever found out that his eldest son sired a halfbreed lesser fae.
Fast forward-
We know that Gwyn is some fancy percentage of high fae and nymph right? And the only proof to her heitage to the nymph part of her is her teal eyes.
What if... what if Eris goes to Velaris for buisness with the IC and he sees Gwyn and immediatly recognizes the teal eyes and whispers Gwyn's grandmothers name. We''ll go with Serena because yeah.
He whispers "Serena" and Gwyn causiously answers saything it was her grandmothers name. She then asks Eris how he knows that name and he answers, eyes shaking and sad,
"A first love can never forget those eyes"
Im cRyInG. ok
Everyone shocked, mostly because they had never thought Eris had ever loved or is capable of loving someone. THEY WERE WRONG.
Anyway, Gwyn is tentative about talking with Eris by herself at first but curiousity builds up and the two talk.
Gwyn asks Eris question and question and Eris tells her everything with out hesitation. In return, Gwyn tells Eris about her childhood, her mother and Catrin, her sister.
By the end of their talk, Eris is in love with Gwyn. Like the cute kind of love. Not romantic obviously but like a "father daughter" type.
He will do anything for Gwyn and vows to never let his father know about her. Not ever. Because he fears if Beron finds out Gwyn is Eris's decendant, Beron would "lay claim" on Gwyn for being a Vanserra and force her into the Autumn Court. Her fate would most likely end up being like the LotA.
And the IC is like "yeah, if he trys that he and his court will cease to exist" As told by Azriel himself.

👀 Read Below the Cut 👀

Cobra Kai preferences: Reaction to you being Miyagis' granddaughter
Tumblr media
- he was shocked
- you didn't have his last name because your relation to him was through your mother
- he found out when he came by to drop off your purse when he saw that your mother was standing in pictures with Miyagi
- "you know Miyagi, Mrs. (L/N)?"
"I would hope so, he is my father after all."
- he asked why you didn't tell him in the first place
- and you didn't want to be known as Mister Miyagis' granddaughter and have some expectations on your shoulders that you doubted you could ever reach
- he understood after that
- he never really brought it up again but liked it whenever your mom would tell his stories at the dinner table
Tumblr media
- he was confused
- you hung out with the LaRussos all the time but nobody ever mentioned it to him
- again, expectations
- he could get behind that
- after all, his dad is Johnny Lawrence, who may not have been liked all that much but was very well known
- he was still a little hurt by the fact that you felt you couldn't tell him though
- you reassured him that you had no doubts that he would treat you any differently
- it was just a weird thing to randomly bring up during practice
- you didn't know him all that well, as he died a few years after you were born, but you loved his soul
- your mom told you and Robby some stories
- "he would've loved you, Robby."
- he smiles, staring at a picture of a bright smiling Miyagi holding you a few days after you were born
- your mom also hates Johnny and she calls him a colonizer
Tumblr media
- he was SO HYPED
- "my GIRLFRIEND is Miyagis GRANDDAUGHTER!"
- you expected him to be bummed out because he's in Cobra Kai but he was actually excited
- "does this mean we can kick ass together now?"
"Hold on there, I'm still a pacifist."
- your mom didn't like Hawk for awhile
- but eventually warmed up to him, especially when it came to showing him pictures and videos of you doing karate as a kid
- you literally came home after school one day and he was already there, still going through tapes of you as a kid
- "you look so cute!"
- you ended up training together, and he swears he can see your grandfathers badass-ery through you
(Okay, okay, I did say nothing for today BUT I forgot to post this last night and I already finished my SAT)

I feel like he would come back to teach the next generation of kids that he taught
