What’s it like working in a male-dominated environment where everyone is between the ages of 17 & 24? I’m so glad you asked.

“Hey, how do I professionally tell [district manager] this ain’t it, Chief?” - my 19yr old site manager

“Bug race. Bug race. Bug race. Bug race.” - this chant went on for 40 minutes while they scoured for bugs to race in a maze they’d built

“Is my [literally anything] supposed to do this? {proceeds to show themselves doing something that they definitely should not be able to do} It kinda hurts when I do.”

[random screaming]

“What would happen if I ate this?”

{new guy tries to be chivalrous and hold the door for me} “dude, why’d you do that?”

“Because gentlemen hold the doors for ladies?”

“Man, she ain’t a lady. She’s Maggie. Doesn’t count.”

“Pulp fiction isn’t even a good movie.” - this got me kicked out of the group chat for three weeks

“Maggie, my girl is mad at me and I can’t figure out why.”

“are you asking her bc she’s a girl?”

“Did you know the new soap dyes your hands Barbie pink?” [holds up bright pink hands] cause I just found out!”

“No it’s not!” {argues back and forth before new guy joins in}

After the entire staff had heard about me making friendship bracelets for the Taylor Swift concert, I had 4 (out of 6) of them ask me to make them one.

“Do you ever just [like two minutes of complete silence], ya know?”

“I don’t think meeting God could even compete, dude.” - I have no context for this statement

“Sometimes, I just [heavy sigh] and sometimes it’s enough.”

“I need new songs to scream in my car.” [shows them Cruel Summer and DBATC by Taylor Swift] “Dude, make me a playlist. I need more songs like these!”

[loud clattering] “Oh shit. Don’t tell, [manager].”

Manager : “what’d you break?”

“Who decided our company mascot should be a pigeon?”

Manager gives vague answer about corporate and how we’re a car wash so it makes sense.

“Well, they’re dumb. I think our mascot should be a racecar.”

“Do you think I would get workers comp if I had a mental breakdown?”

“No.”

“Damn. Imma reschedule it for my day off then. Hey, [manager], can I have two days off back to back next week?”

“Do I get commission for the customers I scare away?”

“That’s the opposite of how commission works.”

“Well, I’m up to three today.”

[random old guy makes a comment about how women shouldn’t try to do a man’s job] “dude, acting like a dick doesn’t make yours any bigger.”

“Does anyone wanna watch Barbie’s Princess and the Pauper with me on Tuesday?” [everyone said yes] - we’re going to see the new Barbie movie together for “team bonding”

“Did you know that if you do this [proceeds to do some weird flippy thing that makes him fall], you can bruise all your ribs at the same time?”

After seeing a video of Taylor Swift diving into the stage at the Eras Tour : “dude, it’s a really good thing she’s a singer and not a swimmer because that was a bellyflop.”

“Wait. Is Hozier a lesbian?” - I have no context for this question

“If I was a worm, you guys would still play COD with me right?”

“No. We’d lose.”

“We could team up against him and beat his worm-ass!”

“Shit yeah! Then yes.”

[random dancing]

“I wanna jump in that puddle…”

“then jump in it?”

“Ok bet” [spends the last five minutes of his shift splashing in a mud puddle]

“Dude, my [12 year old] sister just got dumped by her boyfriend, what do I do?”

[random trauma dumping] “but yeah, lmao, right?”

Me: [chillin] [randomly gets picked up and carried] - this is an action I have approved, it is both hilarious and fun

“Don’t be weird about it, bro.”

“I’m not gunna be weird about it, bro.” [proceeds to be absolutely weird about it]

“What’s your favorite candy?” [tells them] [receives a two pound bag of my favorite candy the next day] “I’m sorry I yelled at you last week.”

[after he was invited to a party with drugs & alcohol] “My therapist said I shouldn’t do that anymore. It’s shit for my mental health.”

“Okay, bro. We can just play COD instead.”

[randomly tackling each other in the grass]

“Dude, I love you so much, bro. You’re an awesome guy to be friends with.” [proceeds to smack each other back and forth for like three minutes straight]

[complaining about how his seven-month-old is going through a sleep regression and he hasn’t slept more than two hours in a week] “dude, that sucks. I can ask my mom for tips, if you want?”

[random video clip sent in group chat] “wait, Maggie don’t watch that” [watches it anyways] “bro, that’s a video of you and your cat playing peek-a-boo, why couldn’t I watch that?” - I never got a response

[quiet giggling] manager: “what are you doing?”

“Nothing!” - they were hiding his clipboard

“Bro, Taylor Swift probably wrote a song about it.”

“That was literally so homophobic, it’s homoerotic.”

[in the group chat] “Y’all, I have news.” [all but one person responds asking about it] “I wanna wait until everyone responds” [four hours later, the last person responds asking about it] [ten minutes of silence] “oh, yeah. I’m gay.” - this man has been out for over a decade. Everyone already knew. This was not news.

-Gandhi and Reiji are knock-off Haitani´s that we all need

-Mashii looks like a villain and I love that

-lying squirrel Binzo.That´s dedication to violence.

-I love Fujio´s facial expression when he knoced out Binzo and he went all Suzuran Zombie and woke up in two seconds

-Magoroku looking insulted lika a sad mruder kitten when Fujio tells him Doroki is better

-Fujio just dipping into Housen because he´s in the neighbourhood,like he owns that place is great like you´ve all been suprise adopted in Hanaoka Fujio´s found family!

-headcanon:Housen makes those educational presentations of each school they fight and I wanna know what they said about the guys from Oya

-I love how much more confident Jamuo is meanwhile,

-especially the great delinquent trivia is legendary

-Mommas boy Shidaken

-Sabakan´s training is probably because of their attack by Kidra so he will be able to defend himself but they let him train with Jinkawa who´s just like a meat mountain poor Sabakan planned his funeral right there

-Shibaman and Tsuji know exactly where Todoroki is but before ratting him out they would die knowing they would jump him like cowards

-i love how Yasushi and Kiyoshi go from screaming at each other to talk softly

-why would Yasushi slap Kiyoshi so damn soft?

-Yasushi is the fucking mother hen of the Yasu-Kiyo faction!!! Example 1;guy lands on the table,Kiyoshi screaming at him Yasushi looks like he checks the guy for injuries.Example 2 he doesn´t leave anyone behind instead helps them get away.

-When Kiyoshi sacrifices himself,he tells the Yasu-Kiyo faction to take Yasushi away and they do so without hesitation.Why?Yasushi´s their leader too.My theories fo from Yasushi´s permanent brain damage they didn´t tell anyone out of the faction off to Kiyoshi having a talk with the faction that hell will break loose if Yasushi will ever end in a similar situation

-Kiyoshi was probably be so scared goin into the icu and just seeing the similar hair color from the door under the oxygen mask and bandages fearing it´s Yasushi until he get´s closer and discovers it´s Shidaken

-Gandhi has the most hilarious laugh out of all of them

-Amagai watched to much Home Alone

-Odajima´s Heya is the cutest thing to exist.Ever.

-Headcanon Amagai has IED Intermittent explosive disorder

-when Jamuo said it´s been a while since I hit someone I swear he means the bitch slap Yasushi got form him in episode 0

-i love Tsukasa´s get back up motivation like I´m pissing blood by now but so will you Amagai.

-when Todoroki got hit over the head with the bottle and the blood dripps to the floor while their soundtrack plays is great. I love Todorokis character development of i have friends to protect now!

Living with slashers (sfw, head-cannons)

:will include:

Jason Voorhees, Sinclair brothers (as a group since they all live together anyway), Thomas Hewitt, Brahms Heelshire, Michael Myers, gohst face (Billy and Stu)

I'm writing this thinking about a platonic friendship in mind so yeah, also idk if I have to specify say this or not but request are open :)

Jason Voorhees

- you would probably have your own cabin at Camp Crystal Lake but Jason would always hang around it

- he wants to be room-mates with you 👉👈

- you will have to do chores otherwise the place is gonna go to (more) ruins

- one of those chores will be making sure Jason is looking after himself

-otherwise he will go days without any proper hygiene :(

- other than that it would be like living at a school camp but instead of classmates you have a murdering zombie friend

- plenty of stuff to do, but Jason would be upset if u do stuff without him (mans just wants to be included)

The Sinclair's

- the house is surprisingly clean

- Lester is mostly doing his own thing (basicly living in his truck)

- Vincent is either working on sculptures, sleeping, or just standing around watching cause I don't think he can social well 😞

- Bo is the only one who uses the house and I can imagine he's abit of a neat freak

- family game nights will happen at random so be ready (they would also be happy that theres a 4th person so teams can be even)

- you and Bo are gonna have to cook all the meals

- would be a fun experience as all the brothers would be happy to have another person to hang out with

- and they would get upset if you spend more time with a specific brother, they all want attention but they don't wanna ask

Thomas Hewitt

- I'm sorry I can't see this being a good house to live in

- Thomas would try and make it as comforting as he can but he can only do so much

- you will have to work around the farm no matter the weather or heat

- they will continue to eat people so I hope you can stomach it

- Thomas will spend alot of time in ur room, especially if he's upset

- actuly when he's not working he will hang out with you (alot of these slashers just want some genuine positive attention)

- I mean u can't leave even if u wanted too so get comfortable

Brahms Heelshire

- u know how this goes, ur a nanny

- cooking, cleaning, tending to everything Brahms needs

- it would be a simple life and you would still have time to do ur own thing, but ur basically living for Brahms

- and he knows this, he knows he's the boss and yet the one night you forget to tuck him in he cried for the rest of the day thinking you hated him

- he tries to be all tough but in truth he won't survive without you

- and please for all that is good make sure he showers everyday

- despite the house work and looking after a grown man, it's a nice large house on the country side so like... totally worth it 👌

Michael Myers

- he would be the roomate you didn't realise you had until you woke up one night and saw him in the living room and you can't just ask him to leave so you just have to say "cool new room mate"

- he won't do any chores unless you ask him to and even then if he doesn't want to do it. He won't

- he will scare you just by always standing in the most unexpected places, be on guard

- he won't admit it but he likes having you around as a room mate

- he will stand in your room while you sleep, he like Vincent dosnt know how to social very well

- he's either gonna be doing his own thing somewhere else or he's gonna be stuck to your side

- he would be an uncomfortable room mate at first but he'll grow on u as u will him

Ghost face (Billy + Stu)

- there won't be a moment of peace if they are your roomates

- Billy is always gonna be out or in his own room, but he will go to you when he just needs a breather but dosnt want to be alone

- Stu will hunt you down to hang out with you, his own thing is you, you are now what he does

- luckily Billy knows some good places Stu dosnt know about

- movie nights, game nights, trivia nights, any kind of hang out night there is there will be

- if you are extroverted this will be the perfect set up for you, cause they (mainly Stu) will always want to be around you

- they would also try to convince you to help them kill, they would even get a mask for you

Anyway I’m bored and Carmen Sandiego renaissance is on the brain. What are these characters like when they aren’t focused on the main plot?? Non VILE/ACME/Caper related dialogue seems so few and far between.. I wish we got to see their lives outside work. So I made some headcanons abt it

CARMEN

Player was her first exposure to the outside world so she probably holds a lot of his nerdy interests close to her heart. She’s not the best at video games but plays them regardless. She especially enjoys sci-fi horror movies from the 80s that go big on practical effects

Finding random trivia about different countries is genuinely one of her favourite hobbies. The little info segments she does are not part of the edutainment show. She is genuinely just like that. This woman is a trove of fun facts please let her unleash them upon you

In the same vein she LOVES quizzes. After missions she will drag Team Red to any bar doing a trivia night in her vicinity and will wipe the floor with everyone there. Fear her

Enjoys people watching. It’s why she’s so good at charming strangers despite her socially stunted upbringing. She’ll sit alone in a busy train station for hours and watch everyone pass her by

PLAYER

Look. We know this kid is a nerd. It’s canon. But which niche of nerdiness does he fall into exactly?

Despite being an avid gamer he isn’t very competitive about it. He prefers single player rpgs, especially ones with active modding scenes. He doesn’t even know what vanilla Skyrim looks like he probably wasn’t even born yet when it released

He will, however, duo queue with Carmen on unranked Overwatch. They are both terrible at it and think it’s the funniest shit

Enjoys sitting back and watching a good speedrun. Will have a video of someone doing a stupid BOTW challenge in the background while he hacks security cameras and such

Runs a DnD campaign for Team Red which they’re all crazy invested in. Shadowsan is the only one who doesn’t care for it but he keeps rolling nat 20’s on the dumbest shit and derailing the campaign and he finds everyone’s reactions too entertaining to stop. They have a rivalry only a DM and a stupidly lucky rogue could have

ZACK

We already know he’s kind of a meathead that enjoys sports and cars and cheesy action movies but I also think he has a lot of softer hobbies that he keeps to himself bc he knows they won’t take him seriously

He’s a secret crocheter. He’ll mend the team’s clothes when they rip but that’s the extent of their knowledge. He’ll sit for hours by himself and knit while listening to music. Sometimes Shadowsan will find a new pair of socks in his bag. When Carmen got sick once she woke up with a handmade blanket draped over her. Ivy has her suspicions but doesn’t wanna intrude

He loves animals. He never really brings it up because no one ever asks. He always checks out local zoos and aquariums if he has the chance. Grew up watching Steve Irwin-esque nature shows and still does to this day

His love of eating is less out of greed and more his own form of cultural appreciation. Idk what happened to his and Ivy’s parents but for reasons he can’t explain their cooking is one of the few things he hasn’t forgotten, so he has a lot of sentimental food-based memories. And experiencing other countries cuisine connects him with that

IVY

PERIOD DRAMAS. They don’t have to be good they just have to be steamy. She enjoys the hot women in pretty dresses. She and Carmen watch Bridgerton together and laugh about how historically inaccurate it is

She LOVES renfaires and similar high fantasy roleplaying communities. Someone please buy this woman a suit of armour

As an engineering prodigy AND fantasy buff she has a massive interest in Blacksmithing and Swords. That’s her designated lesbian hobby. She’s been trying to politely worm her way into a conversation with Shadowsan about the blade he returned to his brother for months now but isn’t sure if it’s too personal of a topic for him so she’s nervous

Her sweet tooth encompasses more than just chocolate. She’s secretly grateful to Zack since he takes most of the flack for being a glutton. She makes note of any bakeries they pass by on capers so she can come back later in secret and go ham on the pastries

SHADOWSAN

I think his interest in Samurai history starts and ends with his love for Hideo. He’ll happily discuss it and he’s studied it passionately, but out of a sense of respect and duty to do right by the brother he betrayed

He will NEVER, EVER admit it to anyone but he genuinely misses the adrenaline rush from committing petty crimes. He was a criminal for over 20 years. Lifestyles are hard to shake and change isn’t linear. He’d never succumb to impulse but he’s just kinda bored

He microdoses on the urge by pranking people. Everyone always blames Zack so he never gets caught. He also enjoys sneaking up on people and making them jump. He’ll always insist it’s unintentional. It isn’t

He’ll read and meditate and train to keep himself centred but he’s still a rowdy young punk at heart. Team Red is the first taste of freedom he’s had after a lifetime of VILE faculty monitoring him. The first thing he bought for himself after settling in at the San Diego HQ was a motorbike. The second was a new tattoo. The third was a potentially lethal amount of whiskey that he drank in one sitting

JULIA

We know she has a passion for history outside her work in Law Enforcement so she definitely goes to all kinds of museums in her free time. She’s the kind of person who enjoys learning just for the sake of learning (she and Carmen have that in common)

Outside of that she’s surprisingly good at karaoke? She gets stage fright but really likes singing and will go all out if you hype her up. Her taste in music is the exact opposite of her appearance and personality. Lots and lots of death metal

An aficionado for different types of tea. She keeps like 10 flavours in her house at all times. She especially likes floral ones that taste light and sweet. She hates iced tea with a passion though

Goes to botanical gardens whenever the weather is warm and the season is right. She likes the history of the old manor houses but she also loves admiring the landscaping and the blooming flowers. She could sit on a bench surrounded by local flora and fauna for hours

DEVINEAUX

Chase is an entirely different person when he’s off the clock. The unhinged high-energy maniac who froths at the mouth about La Femme Rouge goes dormant once he gets home. Especially after he got stranded on VILE island. That really gave him some introspection about work/life balance

The biggest, softest, sappiest hopeless romantic you will ever meet in your life. Passion is just part of his nature and he gets his heart broken A LOT. It’s why he throws himself into his work

He’s a really good chef. Like REALLY good. Before he was a cop he did a few summers as a line cook in his teen years and he retained most of the knowledge. His pantry is STACKED and he tries out recipes he picked up from his ACME travels in his free time. He’s a tad snobby about it because he’s French but you will not complain about the stuff he feeds you

Old movie enjoyer. His favourites are film noirs, cheesy romances, creepy eastern european animation and german expressionism. He has a fervent hatred of Marvel

Also one of those insane people who get up at 5am to do cardio. One morning before a mission he met Agent Zari with barely a glisten of sweat on his forehead and sadly informed her that he only got to run 15k and he wished he had time to do more. That was the first time she ever knew fear

Ok, so I had some thoughts while looking through your au.

Are their personalities different due to how their pasts are different?

And, I’m pretty sure, there were like ancient depictions of a form looking like Sonic saving the world and stuff so I wonder if like sonic was “destined” to be the hero but in this case that isn’t the role he had. Meaning Tails has to prove to himself and others that despite what destiny tried to say, he is a hero.

These are very good thoughts and there are a quite few differences in personality so I’m just gonna do this in sections:

Sonic:

Sonic’s not too different to how he is in canon, I think swap sonic still has like the same demeanour and attitude, like they’re not that different in terms of being pretty chill, too cool for school and generally being a little shit

He leans more into the piloting thing and he likes to fly fast. Do not insult his piloting skills unless you wanna annoy him

no one really expects him to be a super genius they’re always caught off guard by it when says something really scientific just casually (except the people who are just used to it)

He tends a danger to himself most of the time, being sent to the hospital every couple of weeks cuz of of his experiments, inventions or just straight up forgetting he fit the blowtorch on the floor. (A lot of the times is a some dumb stuff that he does for ‘science’)

Zero sense of self preservation and a tendency to just casually play off injuries (“Relax shadow, all the bleeding was internal, that’s where the blood’s supposed to be-“)

filled with lots of energy and from the lack of usage of his speed to let some of it out, always constantly moving. Constant leg bouncing disease and rambling at record speeds (only tails can understand him the most when he’s in ramble mode). He’s also a really fast thinker

When his speed is brought up he gets a bit visibly uncomfortable and changes the subject, pretending that it never happened

Hes bad at taking compliments, he just brushes it off and tries to either discredit himself or awkwardly change the subject. When he was younger he was even worse

The boy would not see sun in days if allowed to hyperfocus on inventing, tails often has to drag his ass outside when that happens

The tornado is his baby

Tails

He’s more confident & independent from doing hero stuff and travelling

He’s a huge history nerd, whenever they go to angel island he ignores sonic & knuckles he goes straight for the ruins.

He knows random trivia facts

He owns many notebooks and has about 6 in total so far

In his travels he loves to learn about different cultures and traditions

Tails’s 8 year old brain at some point just comes to the conclusion that he straight up can't die cuz after everything he's been through he's still alive and so Tails slowly becomes more reckless with his well-being because of it much to sonic’s chagrin

This kid is really curious, you would be surprised how many of his adventures started out as innocent curiosity. He gets side tracked a lot because of it. (Once Sonic asked him to go get some groceries from the supermarket, returned in gold armor with a sword and a country. He forgot the groceries)

He reads a lot of comic books for catchphrase and megamind voice presentation.

People often underestimate him due to his age and adorable appearance and he uses it to his advantage

Cusses frequently

Does not hold back on insults. Someone could be debating whether or not to fight this eight year old but then he opens his mouth and they’re like “nah, the kid deserves it.” And squares up

Destined hero thingy

Tail’s definitely did have to prove to others and himself that he was a hero despite it not being destiny, and sonic had to prove that just because he was ‘destined’ to be a hero doesn’t mean that has to do it it in a way that’s foretold of be a hero at all

But despite this Tails does have a bit of imposter syndrome and feels like, despite all that he’s achieved, he doesn’t deserve to be called the ‘hero of mobius’.

He was just a little kid who wanted to help

But sonic called bullshit on that and told him that’s exactly why deserves to be called a hero, a little kid standing up against seemingly impossible odds and challenges over and over again just because it’s the right thing to do.

I’m thinking that maybe the prophecy will come into play later down the line but I’m still deciding

Meu Listens to Teenage Gizzard (2010-2011)

Preliminary

Technically this was a 2020 release, but the songs are from the very very early days of gizz ^_^ then one day they decided to put them out into the world for real... some of these songs were made before Ambrose was even in the band!

It’s a garage punk, surf kinda psych rock compilation album. Its very lo-fi, like you can hear the noise bouncing off of the walls. Made back when Stu was still couch surfing I reckon, and they were just playing at random shows and probably weren’t even called King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard yet. it’s cool to think about that kind of era, for any band i think. The novelty of being just a whatever group of guys playing music just cuz! it’s kind of beautiful.

This is actually the first gizz album I got on vinyl (along with Butterfly 3000). It was a gift from my mother... ^_^ she must’ve just picked the first albums she saw on the Gizzverse store HA! I havent listened to it yet but the disc is SUPER pretty, honestly one of my fav I own. it’s the... blue cloudy holy water pressing by needlejuice. cool..!

Oh yeah... so given this is the first one I’m listening to, and I know that there won’t be much to say about the songs, this will be quite simple. That is the nature of this album.

I basically am just listening + writing + have the Genius page open on another monitor for lyrics. And then maybe I’ll look for related things about this album (and all the others) like live vids and trivia and yeah. ok.

king gizzard is born!!!

1. Hey There (3:57)

It’s a song about falling in love. It’s cute. I did not know that in the middle of the song he goes “Girl what’s in my hair?” a buncha times. I like how jumpy that part sounds! It’s a simple garage song. It feels really laid-back, like compared to how the gizz albums after this open. Like I think of Elbow from 12 Bar Bruise and it has a bit more of a punchy and organized vibe than this. Teen Gizz is like the most barebones sound… it’s cool.

2. Ants & Bats (3:13)

The like, bassline I think, that plays throughout the whole song is so cool. This song feels menacing. Ohh the part at around 1:40 where the key changes! What that’s so cool I didn’t expect that. This song feels like bugs crawling, I guess that makes sense. Bugs stalking around their environment being evil and awesome. These lyrics here are also very good:

3. Sleep (3:40)

Stu loves writing songs about sleep! (Sleep Drifter, Sleepwalker, I’m Sleepin’ In) Wow!

I got up early And you've got up too And you pull me under And you say "My leg" But I don't wanna go back to sleep again But I don't wanna stay like this for five more minutes

This is cute, he’s writing about his partner. I guess that is kind of a theme in this album because you will hardly see that in the music going forward (here and there, like in Honey, or the Butterfly 3000 title track)

It’s very bouncy! A lot of these songs are just bouncy and are a little bit hard to distinguish from each other. And it seems Stu is always making noises like he sounds like he’s running around in circles in a chamber or something.

4. Summer! (2:48)

I’ve seen this before! In the future!

It's hot, it's mean, summer, to me Green grass, won't last, sky blue, me too

These are lyrics that are repurposed in the Gumboot Soup song Muddy Water!!! It’s cute. Absolutely a summer feeling song ^_^

Ah now this album is starting to make sense to me. It’s the kind of album I will have on in the background. But that’s good. Some music is like that, where it sounds better when they are played as “accompaniment music.” I’d listen to this while I’m outside and it’s really hot. Since I’m traveling this summer to go see Gizz play live, maybe I’ll listen to this a bunch while I am outside. I think that would be nice.

I’ve always loved how, in both this song and Muddy Water, that there’s kind of a movement the song simulates in my mind. It feels like stepping one foot in front of the other but not at the same time. Like the left foot stays in the air for a long time as you bring it over and the right foot comes over really quickly. And you wave your arms out like an airplane would make turns. Kind of like how a drunk person would walk maybe, lol? Like in a comical sense. A lot of songs can evoke this imaginary feeling of a specific kind of movement/kinesthetic sensation.

5. Eddie Cousin (2:38)

The lyrics here are very simple!!! OK, kind of goes without saying because thats how this album is. Hehe. Also there’s a female vocalist in the back here huh? This definitely seems like the most garage song so far. Like I actually feel like I’m in a garage with a buncha people because some friend told me that they know some guys who play music and they invited me to go listen and it’s just this really freeball kinda party thing happening its sooooo funny. This song is cool.

Also they played it on TV? Lol. This is a funny video. Look how young they are ‘_ `

6. Fried (3:10)

Ohh, the beginning kind of reminds me of how Eyes Like The Sky sounds. But then it gets back to more garage. Yknow how it is !!!

I suppose another part of the album where I am thinking, “this is so funny, to think about the kind of music Stu is writing nowadays, and how complex it all has become.” And that’s literally just how evolution is. Over 12 years or so. But even then this is still good ^_^

7. Good To Me (2:23)

Oh yeah I like this one! It has a more sudden start and it’s just a catchy tune idk. It’s swing?? ohhh. And that female voice is back. Oh but “The repetitive lyrics make it very clear that the girl in the song doesn’t treat the narrator well.” Oh How Unfortunate. Neat song though.

8. Tomb/Beach (3:46)

OHH ^_^ Woa this one is especially good! Like all the rest are nice quaint songs but this one has a much cooler vibe to me. It has more interesting lyrics, I love how it opens, it sounds like a wave crashing a lot into like a really small cave so there’s a lot of pressure into one small space. Like a whirlpool.

Definitely makes sense!!! But yeah, the guitar soundsss or whatever that play in the beginning and the end of the song cus that’s where you hear them more isolated. I love those. Awesome song.

9. Trench Foot (1:55)

AHHH this song is hitting me with a pool noodle thats what it feels like. OHH THERES HARMONICA!!! Hello Ambrose =D I love all the chanting and yelling.

There’s a lot more instrument sounds here with that harmonica like I kind of hear some kinda clanging and ohh its cool. Short song but cool.

10. Life Is Cool (2:10)

YEAHH!!! I already listen to this a bit, out of all the songs in the album! This my favorite! It’s so so so fun and I think encapsulates very very early gizz the best!

Omg, there’s also a little more lyrics about self harm… Interesting because this is the most cheerful sounding on this album I think. But I suppose I can understand it. It’s kind of a careless attitude song.

I can not describe specifically how wondrous this song is though. Like the rest of this album it’s like awesome crashing waves. No wonder the album cover is Like That. But it’s so so cute. I like that it’s the closer.

This is such a “King Gizzard” song to me. The gizz songs that have this particular effect on me, where they make me particularly happy in a sense separate from how usually makes me happy. From the specific composition of the song, there is like this Minutia of high twangy guitar notes that play at the second set of verses about a minute in the song and I think they are cute. All the woos and chanting and stuff. They’re in all the other songs but it seems special here I think. It is sooo joyous on somewhat of a more overarching scale. OK, I realize now that it literally just makes me think about how “life is cool,” isn’t that so silly. Well it’s awesome and I love it.

And that is kind of a feeling that I experience throughout all of the discog. This really intense feeling of insurmountably and awe and like gratefulness, or something. Some songs just REALLY capture that and so. Life Is Cool is definitely one of those.

I wish I could hear it live someday but. They’ve only played it once ever. Alas!

Afterthoughts

Theres so much noise in this album. I love the guitar feedback sounds and how rough it is. It sounds like they made the songs on this album with a metal can and some nails. And they kicked some dirt around and it got eeeverywhere <- they just did that for fun though.

I think it’s cute! There really is not much else to say but having the context of all the music I have to listen to next is really cool... Because I already see the path of progression and evolution of the band and whatever. Humble beginnings... ‘w` Consensus: cool kicky summer album. life is cool is my favorite. so cute, so youthful.

What inspired you to create your oc?

Welp Mark is my first OC everrr :D my boyfriend and i decided we needed a new hobby so he introduced me to VtM :D so i had to Make a Guy. so I looked through all the clans and i was like heheh Tremere Fun i like Magic and smart ppl and blood sorcery seems cool. then i was like well i dont wanna get too crazy w it cause at the time i didnt really know how to make an OC. so i made a guy with a job profession adjacent to mine but not the same cause my bf said making self inserts was a bad idea. but i also wanted to play someone i was somewhat comfortable w.

So w the profession decided as professor i decided to lean into being a more classic professor. Then I just let the skill dots decide some other things like that hes good at driving so.. yeah he was a struggle to make ig! but worked out well now. he was not that interesting at first. the st helped a lot :D

8. Does your oc have any notable flaws or activities they're not good at? Why did you give them those flaws? Why do they exist in-universe?

Hmm good question i should give him some more problems lkdafds.

I mean he has very basic/shit/no taste in movies, that is there because its funny. and also because the ST was like "I feel like mark and sampson would have watched marvel movies had they been in our time" and i just HAD to agree.

but as for skills he is very much a specialist so its not that he's really bad at a few things, its that he's only good at a few things.

he has the flaw of gullible because i am gullible :( i have mentioned this before but i am SOOO salty about it.

He's super unathletic because he's never worked out a day in his life and now that he is in his unlife he has no reason to LOL

He killed any fashion sense he may have had on purpose to blend in <3 its not Bad per se just super boring. cassidy should dress him up like a doll.

20. Share a random piece of trivia about the creation of your oc. Examples: scrapped ideas or changes you didn't expect to make.

-this isn't about his creation but fuck it. I wear glasses when i RP Mark :D They don't look quite how his would but yeah. i need them. when he wasnt wearing them in charaacter i kept trying to put them on LOL despite taking them off on purpose lksadjflkdsjf comfort item for him and me i guess! (I do not wear glasses irl)

-ok here is trivia that is a bit. well. crass. but river ur asking this question so i think its only fair i say. the st and I had to argue abt how much cake mark had T_T i wanted him to have a nice ass at least ok. he needs something going for him. i won the debate so mark canonically has Cake yay :D

♧ the type to wait for someone when they're walking and they have to tie their shoelaces always and forever. if he finds himself ahead of their friend who's doing that, he'll even walk back to where he was even if they were already almost done.

♧ has a comfort sitcom he always watches whenever he's down or in need of something familiar. it's probably some comedy one like the office. and on top of that, he also loves quoting lines from it. if someone challenged him to have a day where he can only speak in comedy sitcom quotes, he will be able to do it.

♧ has the best movie collection ever. has spent an obscene amount of money on buying rarer movie copies. there are times where he doesn't even have an interest in them, but he just wants them, you know?

♧ will make an effort to include all of his friends whenever he has plans -- especially if he has friends who used to be the disposable friend. he never wants to make one of his pals feel left out.

♧ honestly when you look past his teasing ways, he's one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. 10/10 would recommend being friends with him.

♧ likes to cosplay!! sometimes he's able to drag ushijima into it, sometimes he's unable to, but whenever he does, he really takes advantage of it.

♧ he looks like someone who knows the most random pieces of trivia. sometimes he deems it too quiet in the shiratorizawa boys volleyball team bus and he'll just "semi-semi, did you know babies can break some of their bones and it'll be fine? they're still being formed and stuff so it's no biggie for them!" or his roommate will be reading (an ad) his manga and he'll randomly say "wakatoshi-kun, did you know baka means "maybe" or "cow" in filipino? boy i don't wanna get those two mixed up!"

♧ he's such a foodie! he's one of those guys who try to eat at every restaurant in his hometown, even if the food they serve doesn't seem like something he'll usually eat -- he's still curious.

♧ i think tendo's comfortable with a lot of things. his comfort zone isn't very tight -- he's down to do whatever. new hair style? i mean he went from long spiked up hair to having a buzzcut so. bungee jumping? sure! extreme haunted house? he loves horror movies, count him in!

♧ plays with his hair a lot whenever he's nervous - which doesn't happen often - or bored - which does happen often - so for a while, he had this really big fear of balding because of how much he does it. however, he found a solution to it when he left highschool. the solution? get a buzzcut.

♧ plans everything like parties, meet ups, hangouts, reunions, everything. it makes him very happy.

♧ always has something blaring in the music player in his house. right now, he's quite fond of brooklynbloodpop!

♧ he gets his daily exercise from playing beat saber for hours upon hours. dance dance revolution too, if he wants a change of scenery. he prefers the former one though. has definitely tried to rope ushijima into it a few times before. obviously, the former ace of shiratorizawa couldn't resist tendo's charm 😎😎 who can though? let's be honest here for a quick sec.

♧ wishes to publish his own manga someday. he's actually actively working on it. the storyline is one of a kind, and though his style of drawing isn't similar to those of your usual manga, it's not bad either.

♧ not really good at comforting people with words so there are times where he feels really awkward when a friend he's with is crying. he hugs them and gives back pats and shoulder rubs, silently wondering if it was appropriate for him to tell them a joke in hopes of making them feel better. if they're really close, or they're really sad, he'll offer to watch his favorite comedy movie or series to cheer them up.

Hi i just found your blog and i just want to say that it brought me the first genuine hope for my future in a long time. I haven’t been looking forward to who i’m going to be and your chaotic good energy reminds me of how i want to be.

someone who’d teach kids how NOT to make cookies because those kids sure af are gonna remember how and WHY cookies are made the way they are. and they loved learning how too.

someone who encourages the harmless explorations instead of simply telling how the world is. you encourage curiosity. i want to be like that and the joy and amusement i got from your posts makes me want to live my life. thank you

first of all i'm really touched you took the time to say this, thank you so much you sweetpea 💜💚 i'm sorry life has got you down right now.

second of all, i know exactly how you feel. it took me a really unfortunately long time to have any sort of idea about who i wanted to be or where i wanted to go, and i honestly didn't have anything figured out until my late 20's. i still don't have all that much figured out, but what i have figured out is that it's okay to just kinda wake up every day and do whatever. i don't have a 5 year plan. i don't even have a 5 week plan. that kind of thing used to make me feel like an anxious failure but as i've gotten older i've discovered that a) who cares? for real? b) almost literally everyone else is also like this. even the most put-together people you know.

the one thing that i have finally figured out that made my whole life do a 180 is that all those traits you admire in other people? you can just steal them. for real. just straight up steal bits and pieces you like about others, like some fae shit.

you got a friend who's funny and witty? you can be too! observe and acquire. lady at your bus stop have exquisite fashion sense? same thing. take it, it's yours now. character in a show you watch really good at setting firm boundaries? study it and emulate it. you wanna be a kind person? just act like one. that's all it is. you just keep acting like how you've seen kind people do it until one day you wake up and without any thought you're putting a fake plant on your bathroom counter for the little spider who lives there but keeps trying to build a web attached to your sink taps so you can stop breaking her web she works so hard on.

works the opposite too! people you hate and find annoying, be conscious of the things they do to make you feel that way, and avoid doing them yourself.

chaotic good self improvement!

also start small. and keep it small if you want. it's up to you how much work you want to put in to this.

you don't have to be out here curing cancer to be 'the smart' person in the room, you can just be the one who has fun random trivia to spout. you don't gotta be the nice person who's out saving puppies and building shelters, you can be the nice person who compliments peoples clothes and starts the coffee 5 minutes before break every day.

i think the point i'm trying to make is, don't feel like you need to pigeonhole yourself into some magical Successful Person Path because no one knows what life is going to actually throw you. just like. decide how you want others to see you and how you want to feel about yourself and do whatever the personality equivalent of magazine collage is and i swear to god one day you're going to wake up and go "huh. i like me."

sorry to jumble you guys up like this but i thought it might be easier to answer like this i hope you dont mind! its nice to meet you guys and you aren't being rude! im still getting to know everyone so ill try and answer as best i can (: ill put it all under a read more link so i dont mess up anyone's dashboard

but uhhh we all kind of do our own thing from time to time, i dont wanna go too much into everyone cuz i dont want to accidentally step on any toes but i know molly is really into crime documentaries and her and louis like doing scary stuff for fun, emmy likes to just be included so she tries to dabble in a little bit of all our interests and im starting to get into watching hockey! buuuut im still learning about it lolol and alex likes googling random plant and animal trivia

as for hyperfixations well at first we've just been going along with louis, and we're slowly learning to try and do our own things so, so far its all been about the same some more than others, louis and red have been bonding over tmnt and molly is getting attached to the cartoons too, but emily and molly are still super attached to sonic, emily has been asking rewatching boom

and a few of us draw but its mainly louis and molly and occasionally red that i know of but i could be wrong

louie's style is what you guys usually see stuff like this he really likes thin and colored lines

and molly likes things to be color coded than colored so she usually picks one color and thats the entire thing like this one she did the other day

as for red i havent really seen many of his but he did this and another one on mspaint when we were fronting together

I love talking about purple :3

Brief blueberry trivia: when Spruce first sees them, xe scrambles after them immediately, because xe recognises any version of xyr twin, and is briefly hopeful that xyr Donnie might've survived. It is a crushing experience for everyone to see how distressed xe is that they're the wrong purple.

Also the reason I gave them a battle arm was so they can turn it into a gatling gun with their ninpo, they need more ways to be extremely inadvisable with weapons. They were always an inch shorter than Leonardo so they made their new legs longer so they're the same height. Insufferable.

They never admit to sleeping better with Angelo there, but Angelo was well aware, and used to drag the twins into a sleep pile, with Leonardo and Tello curled together and Angelo on top of Leonardo's shell.

They teach all their grapes Be Gay Do Crime and is constantly in trouble with the blue turtle as a result. It's not like it's their fault that one of the grapes stole a nuclear missile, it didn't even go off!

You know how sometimes when you pet a cat, it'll bite you, but not hard? Like play biting? *points at purple* Yeah. Leonardo has so many scars on his hands and forearms from nibbling that they did too hard by accident but he doesn't mind. He calls it taste-testing and Casey Sr found that hilarious.

Speaking of Casey Sr! She was one of Tello's besties in the future. They were both unhinged and loved stabbing things so they truly made each other worse. Even if they were also at most two minor inconveniences away from stabbing each other. Maybe just one.

They will sit for ten hours straight watching Bill Nye, Magic School Bus, or How It's Made. Sometimes Leonardo will put one of those shows on just so Tello will get distracted for two minutes because that's all it takes for them to fall asleep.

They blame themself for Red's death. They were busy evacuating an injured Angelo, and they know that Angelo never would have made it out without them - but they also can't shake the thought that Red would have found a way to take care of them all, if Tello had been smart enough to find a way to take care of him. They took one of Raph's other spare masks and wore it as a bandana, since it didn't have the eye holes cut in it yet, until the day they died.

There was extreme pouting the day that their last lab coat was damaged beyond wearing. They committed to the mad scientist aesthetic as long as they could and I respect that. Part of committing to the aesthetic was secretly chipping everyone with trackers, which Leonardo still gives them shit about on occasion.

For movie nights, there's a ledge above the couch, near the ceiling. Like those wall-mounted cat trees! They can socialise and be nearby without having to let anyone touch them. And they can drop random insects on Leonardo's head.

Casey used to have his hair styled exactly like his entle Tello's but never did anything with it after Tello died :) He wouldn't even let his mom braid it :)

There are so many blankets sacrificed to the alligator nest. Whenever they see a new blanket, they inspect it. If it is suitable, it disappears. They sometimes get a replacement but generally whoever was stolen from is just shit out of luck.

They're pickier about plushies, but when Leonardo gets them a purple axolotl squishmallow, not even Jr is allowed to touch it. #1 prized object.

Blueberries in the nest are relatively rare. Just because Tello is always monitoring their health, happiness, and behaviour for signs of stress doesn't mean that Tello's bonded or anything, god forbid. (Distant sound of Leonardo wheezing.)

When Alpha isn't around, though, Cobalt goes to the alligator nest. Baby Blue is partially nonverbal, and when he is, he's allowed in the nest with Tello to nap together. Otherwise, not really!

There are several surprise allergies! Unicorn is allergic to seafood, Pilot Hamato is allergic to cilantro, and Alpha and Cobalt are both allergic to peanut butter. Also Alpha doesn't ever really figure out that tomatoes aren't spicy, he thinks it's supposed to be like that.

Leon feels safest when he's got Don with him, or failing that, Tello. (Tello does not know what to do about this but treats Leon like they do Junebug, and it seems to work out.) The place doesn't matter as much as the turtles.

Hamato prefers to be alone when he's stressed out. Usually this means curling up in a blanket nest in his closet in his room, because it's the place that's most shut off from the rest of the lair. Angelo is allowed occasionally and is always very gentle about it.

Baby Blue will be held and cuddled, or die trying. Preferably Hamato or Leonardo, but anyone is acceptable.

Sunflower likes to be around a bunch of turtles, but being around humans is still a bit unnerving. The only human they got along with was April, in their universe of origin, so having the Joneses around is strange for them.

Alpha is most comfortable when he's settled down on a beanbag and under a bunch of blankets, with Cobalt safely nearby (and although he'd never admit it, The Damn Cat, too).

Unicorn is bonded the most with Leonardo and Pep, but generally, Pep is off causing trouble, so she goes to Leonardo or Red. She likes hanging out with Leonardo no matter where they are, but really loves when she gets to sleep on Red's shell.

Vanilla likes holing up somewhere in Tello's lab, when they allow it. He can curl up in some spot nobody can see him, and where nobody will try to talk to him, but he can still hear someone being nearby.

Cobalt would feel safe in the prison dimension if Alpha was there with him. There's a permanent blanket fort in the play room that Alpha claims whenever Cobalt is upset about something, so Cobalt can hide in there without actually isolating himself.

Spruce will go in Tello's greenhouse and sit on the bench in the middle for hours, when he needs it. Sometimes Tello joins him and they wordlessly work on pruning leaves or cutting flowers, but he's just as peaceful when he's there alone.

Pep will fall asleep in Tello's arms and Tello still doesn't know what to do about it. They're all right with it, though, and they make an effort to be there whenever Pep needs them. When it's not a touching day, they instead let Pep use their spare battle shell as a nest, which Pep likes just as much.

Echo and Lee are inseperable when one of them is distressed. They have their own alligator nest, though neither of them will get bitey if they're discovered, they'll just relocate. There's several weighted blankets that makes Leonardo wonder if they're getting squished in there, but they prefer it to anywhere else.

River will sit and watch Lou Jitsu movies with Splinter for hours, listening to all his stories and anecdotes. She's well aware that he's not her dead dad, but the similarities help calm her down sometimes. When they don't, she goes to Leonardo.

Heiwa will dive in the big heated pool and stay at the bottom with Jihi for half an hour at a time. Eventually they have to put a timer up on the wall because various other turtles were walking in on this and ruining their decompression time by shrieking about him drowning.

C.A.T. ~2400 words Summary: “What do you have in mind?” Steve asked and Clint’s grin never meant anything good. “C.A.T.” “Cat?” “No, C.A.T. - Captain America Trivia,” he clarified and looked at Tony, awfully pleased with the acronym he had come up with. You can read the story under the cut or on AO3. :)

“Let’s play a drinking game!”

Steve looked at his almost empty bottle of beer and then around the living room. He saw raised eyebrows and sceptical frowns at Clint. On the table he could spot all the different beverages. Alcohol had not exactly been a popular choice tonight.

“You can hardly handle my mind when I’m sober, you don’t wanna see me drunk,” Tony had said and opted for coffee after having one drink. He was clearly planning on staying up working after they finished their weekly team bonding.

Steve loved these evenings. He loved his team, his family. There was always enough food for double the amount of people they were and a trash movie at least one person claimed was actually a piece of art.

He didn’t mind. Steve could watch good movies on his own, he just wanted to spend time with the people he cared about. All of them had their own life and projects besides their Avengers work, so Steve treasured the fact they could all come together once a week and have some fun.

“You don’t need a game to get drunk,” Natasha said and nodded towards the really strong Asgardian mead Thor usually brought. “Besides, two of us prefer being sober, and Steve can’t get drunk anyway.”

Bruce smiled at her, obviously grateful. What was it with geniuses preferring their sobriety? Then again, Steve was not a genius and he never had the chance to experience being drunk. Alcohol had not been a luxury he could afford back in the day. He was sure even a small dose would have made him pleasantly drunk, but there was also a not-zero-chance it would have straight up led to alcohol poisoning with his weak body.

“Right” Clint said and clinked glasses with Thor. “I think we should still play a game though.”

“What do you have in mind?” Steve asked and Clint’s grin never meant anything good.

“C.A.T.”

“Cat?”

“No, C.A.T. - Captain America Trivia,” he clarified and looked at Tony, awfully pleased with the acronym he had come up with.

Steve decided not to remind him that he couldn’t lose a game about himself, but to humor him instead.

“Sure, what are the rules?” he asked and Clint beamed at him, clearly tipsy already.

“I’m asking random questions about Captain America and then everyone guesses the answer and whoever is right, gets a point. The one with the highest number of points wins.”

Then he looked all serious at Steve, as if he just remembered the obvious flaw in the game.

“Sorry Cap, you can’t actually participate in the game. I need you to verify the answers though.”

Steve laughed.

“Fine with me.”

A part of him wondered if this was just Clint’s not very subtle way of getting to know random things about him, but he didn’t question it. There was not really something he actively tried to hide from his friends. Well, except for the crush he had on one of his teammates. But the word Trivia made him think the quiz would be just about things that were somewhat known and he could easily confirm or deny.

“Maybe I do need another drink for this,” Tony said. “Not sure if I can handle all the dirty Cap secrets.”

Natasha shared a look with Tony and Steve had no idea how to interpret this silent conversation between them. He only knew that Nat had her reasons when she decided to not verbally say what was on her mind.

Bruce took his StarkPad and opened a new spreadsheet to fill in their names, answers, and points for the game.

Clint asked a question, everyone gave an answer, and then Steve told them which one was correct. It was simple, it was fun, and it made Steve realize how well his team actually knew him. Something about the way they discussed whether he liked hot dogs or donuts better, or what his preferred way of travelling was made him all warm and fuzzy. They cared about him. It was silly, because Steve knew they did, but knowing these little details about him made a huge difference.

“Are you sure Steve isn’t straight?” Clint asked when Natasha stated with certainty that Steve was bi.

She just hummed in response.

“I do not agree with any of your labels and I do not care,” Thor said with a shrug as he took another sip from his mead.

“Fair,” Bruce said and crossed Thor’s field out in the spreadsheet. Then he added, “I’m gonna go with Clint on this one.”

“Definitely bi,” Tony said and looked at Clint. “Or do you really think he never had anything with Barnes? Hell, if you have a best friend and never even made out with them, are they really your best friend?”

Steve could see Nat and Clint sharing a look. Caught, he thought.

“So Rhodey and you…?” Natasha asked and Tony nodded.

“Of course, we spent a lot of our college time pretending we’re a couple actually. Rhodey said it would be safer considering my age. We even hooked up a few times, but decided we’re better as friends.”

Huh. Steve’s teammates were not the only ones who learned something new today.

“So,” Tony said, looking at Steve with a grin. “Am I right?”

“Yeah, you are. Both for being bi and being more than friends with Bucky at some point. We ended what we had when he fell in love and not being monogamous wasn’t an option for him.”

Steve tried not to sound disappointed, but probably failed, so he added, “It made perfect sense, please don’t get me wrong. Bucky was just… the only person who didn’t mind my pre-serum body.”

“All body shapes should be valued and appreciated!” Thor said and raised his glass to drink on his own words.

“They should,” Steve agreed. “Unfortunately, that wasn’t the reality. Still isn’t.”

Steve shook his head. It was neither the time nor place to talk about this. Their evening together was supposed to be light-hearted and fun, and he didn’t want to ruin the mood. Not only for the others, but also for himself.

He cleared his throat and smiled.

“Anyway, that was the answer you needed for the points. Clint, what’s the next question?”

Clint looked at him and grinned, seemingly unbothered by what Steve had said.

“I’ve got one last one for y’all! Easy, I promise”, he said and made a dramatic pause before asking, “When’s Cap’s birthday?”

“July 4th…?” Bruce said, but hesitated a little and raised his voice in question like he expected there would be a catch.

“See, told you it’s easy. ‘Course it’s that!”

Bruce tilted his head while he noted Clint’s answer.

“Now that I’m thinking about it… Obviously Captain America’s birthday is July 4th, but how much of a coincidence would it be if Steve was born that day?”

“I think you’re on to something”, Natasha said. “It could have always been clever advertising. The question is how far away from that date would his actual birthday be?”

Bruce stared at Steve who tried to keep a straight face when Bruce said, “I swear, if your birthday is actually in November or something and I’ve been off by months last year, I’m gonna lose my mind.”

While Bruce and Nat discussed likely dates based on gut instinct and zodiac sign stereotypes, Steve eyed Tony from the side. Did he know? He had kept his answers to himself until last turn for all the other questions as well.

“I do not understand Midgardians’ obsession with their date of birth,” Thor said and Tony patted his shoulder.

“Not everyone lives thousands of years, buddy, let us have our special days.”

“Fine, I believe in the date our archer friend stated as well then.”

“All I know is that it’s not that,” Natasha concluded. “But I also have the feeling it’s not very far away from it. I’m gonna go with July 2nd.”

“My guess is July 11th,” Bruce said while writing down their answers.

Everyone looked at Tony expectantly.

“You’re all close, but all wrong,” he said and then looked at Steve with a knowing smile. “Steve’s birthday is July 1st. As Nat said, the date they came up with was just advertising bullshit and at this point nobody questions it anymore.”

Steve swallowed as he realized what had been obvious throughout the whole game. Now he didn’t know what to do with this new piece of information. It could mean nothing. Or a lot. Steve wasn’t sure.

“Correct,” he confirmed and could see the relief in Bruce’s face before he finalized the spreadsheet and calculated the results.

Nobody seemed really surprised that Tony won by a mile.

“I hate losing,” Tony said with a shrug.

“And you’re also a huge Captain America fanboy,” Natasha added.

“If you grew up with a father who was obsessed with Cap, you’d know all this random stuff about him, too.”

Nat didn’t seem convinced, but let it slide. She stood up and stretched, then looked around.

“I leave tidying to you, but will make sure Clint makes it to bed safe and sound. Deal?”

Steve laughed at Clint’s slurred protest and agreed.

“The least I can do after you all proved that you actually know me quite well. Feel free to go to bed.”

“I’m gonna take that offer,” Bruce said and got up as well. “Thor, you should also turn in if you wanna travel tomorrow.”

Thor made an unhappy sound, but he knew Bruce was right.

Soon the room was cleared and Tony and Steve were the only ones left.

“I guess your plan for tonight is work instead of sleep?” Steve asked and nodded towards the empty coffee mug.

“Guilty as charged. Want me to lend you a hand here before I go to the lab?”

Steve wanted to say yes to make Tony stay so badly, but he also knew it would be selfish. He had said he would clean up and was planning on keeping his word.

“Nah, I’ll be fine. Shouldn’t make you work after your great victory,” he said with a smile, but Tony looked thoughtful.

“It was nothing.”

“Kinda was,” Steve said more to himself than to Tony, but he had heard it anyway.

“Are you surprised I know so much about you? Or scared?”

“Yes and no. Some of these questions were really specific and you just knew the answers.”

“I did my research,” Tony shrugged.

“About my sexuality?”

“I am thorough.”

Steve laughed and Tony joined him. Steve liked that sound so much; it was a shame he didn’t hear it more often.

Then Tony cleared his throat and said, “I’m sure there is still a lot to learn about you.”

“Touché.”

“Are you interested?” Tony asked and Steve could feel himself blushing.

He knew exactly how Tony had meant this question, but his traitorous heart and mind could only scream YesYesYes! and not only mean a general interest in Tony’s life or hobbies or business.

Steve bit his tongue to not say anything that would make their situation awkward, but realized belatedly that his silence could be taken the wrong way as well. Thankfully, Tony was a genius. He smirked and took a step closer to Steve.

“I’ll take that as a yes in one way and another,” he said and Steve nodded mutely.

“How about a prize for my great victory?” Tony asked and stepped entirely into Steve’s personal space.

“What do you have in mind?” Steve asked in return, his breath hitching while he was trying not to stress over the possibilities.

Instead of an answer, Tony put a hand around Steve’s neck and pulled him into a kiss truly worthy of a winner. After the initial surprise, Steve kissed him back the way he deserved. But Steve also held himself back and his hands securely in place since he wasn’t sure how much he was allowed to ask for. He just enjoyed what Tony took from him.

But then Tony murmured, “C’mon Steve, I don’t bite” against his lips and he could still feel his warm breath on him, that even Steve knew this was his permission. And when Tony reclaimed his mouth, Steve grabbed his hips and pulled him so close that they were chest to chest.

Steve lost himself entirely in the sensation, especially when Tony opened his mouth and licked over Steve’s lip. He let his own lips part and Tony’s tongue slipped inside. He never wanted this to end. Ever.

Steve could feel one of Tony’s hands on his chest and couldn’t help but wonder if he felt his racing heart under his palm. If he did, he hopefully knew that was all his doing. Then Steve felt a light push against his chest and got the hint. They broke the kiss and Steve blinked in disbelief about what had just happened.

“You might be able to hold your breath for eight minutes, but I can’t,” Tony said with a laugh, evidently a little breathless.

“Not sorry,” Steve said and then realized that Tony had just casually dropped another piece of trivia about him, so he asked, “Why do you really know all these things about me?”

Tony hesitated for a moment before answering, “I had a certain image of you in my mind and I tried to figure out how much of it was real, sooo I did my research. And well, I don’t forget easily.”

“Did your image of me change?”

“Yeah, because between meeting you and the research it turned out you’re much worse.”

Steve laughed.

“At least you know what you’re getting yourself into,” he said.

“True. I just hope I don’t always have to answer a question about you before I get to kiss you.”

“Hmm, maybe. But it could also be your punishment for telling everyone when my actual birthday is.”

“On your birthday I maybe even let you punish me,” Tony said with a huge grin and winked at him.

“TONY!” Steve said exasperated, but Tony just laughed and drew him into another kiss that was definitely not an apologetic one and only meant to shut up him.

It probably wasn’t too bad that Tony knew so much about him, after all. And Steve was glad he didn’t have to deny that he was also very interested in learning new things about Tony’s personality and his body, be it important or just interesting trivia.
