Since June had to eat those dishes to find out what Hello and Goodbye's favorite and least favorite foods were, what were Hello and Goodbye's initial reactions to their favorites and least favorites for the first time? (like the first time June ate jello or alfredo or something)

Hello saw Jello on tv and was immediately enamoured, had June make some and was overjoyed at the fact that it tasted exactly the way it looked

He thought that shrimp looked delightfully silly and thought they would taste like marshmallows because they’re pink. He was disgusted by the flavour and I’ll tell you right now it sucks feeling like you have to throw up when you don’t have a mouth

Goodbye tasted popcorn when they snuck him to a movie theatre for the first time, and he focused more on making sure June kept eating the popcorn than the actual comedy they went to see.

June had some Alfredo sauce from a microwave meal and Goodbye can’t stand it, he thinks it tastes so bland it’s like eating phlegm. Texture is the worst part for him.

🍦 - how good is your communication with the rest of the system? does it vary much between different alters?

Overall communication is sort of iffy, usually there's long moments of silence and then like a few minutes, hours or days of good communication before another week or so of nothing. It does also vary between alters though, the gatekeepers are usually good at communication and we do have the messenger who speaks to everyone on its layer easily, so there's that. Subsystems usually have better communication with eachother, so they find out about themselves before the rest of the system does, so there's also that little point.

I really can't wait to see how you write Demeter! Is she going to be the villain?

yaay it's a good day for asks! sorry because I'm about to go on ANOTHER HUGE TANGENT LMAO but I hope it answers your question thoroughly enough ! 😅 (and if it doesn't at all lmk LOL) Demeter's gonna be an interesting one. I think you already know the answer to this, but I really can't stand how she's villainized like some Mother Gothel archetype, especially when it comes to how Rachel portrays it, because everything Demeter thinks/does/says is honestly justified, try as Rachel might to make her seem like some insane overbearing 'evil' stepmother. Everything always comes back to "Demeter bad!" whereas reading her depiction of Persephone is like watching The Little Mermaid as an adult.

(it's very frustrating, to say the least LMAO)

Personally I'm gonna be going for what LO started with, but never followed up on - Demeter wants to see her daughter gain independence, but is fearful of her being taken advantage of and hurt the same way she, her "sisters", and her "mother" was (and yes, I have my own way of tackling the incest and familial labels in a way Rachel could have but didn't, I don't wanna reveal too much but it's very fun and I can't wait to explore it haha). All this is gonna affect how her relationship with her daughter plays out - it won't be exactly like the Hymn of Demeter, focusing solely on Demeter's grief, but it won't be exactly like LO either where it throws aside the purpose and messaging of the original myth entirely. All the gods are nuanced and morally problematic in their own way, and that includes Persephone and Hades.

Honestly, I think the reason why so many myth 'retellings' like LO end up being this Flanderized in their characterizations ("Demeter bad, Persephone good!" and "Zeus bad husband, Hades perfect husband!") is because there's so little material surrounding Persephone and Hades compared to all the others. While this can make it fun for having more freedom in re-interpretations, it unfortunately has the opposite effect as well where people tend to forgo the entire point of the original story so they can have some feel good cute story where Hades was some "soft" husband who did nothing wrong and Persephone was some "boss babe" icon with no nuance in between.

I see this type of fetishization of the original myth in a lot of these interpretations but especially Rachel's work. I'm not sure if "fandomification" is a word that can be used here, but I definitely get the feeling Rachel idolizes and fetishizes Greek myth the same way a lot of young Westerners often idolize and fetishize Japanese lore and content, or, more personally, Indigenous cultures (as I myself am Indigenous, specifically Mi'kmaq) - by reducing it down to its most "consumable" formats and turning it into something more 'palatable' and 'fandom-y' for modern audiences that almost comes across as pandering and demeaning to anyone looking for anything with more depth than a teaspoon (and especially to those who belong to the respective cultures being portrayed through this lens).

This isn't to say that creators have to stick to their lane when writing about other cultures or myths, but you can tell when someone hasn't done their research and is working from a very romanticized template they've built up in their heads. Rachel's, in this case, feels like it's definitely come from her time on Tumblr back in the day, when Hades x Persephone writing prompts were all the rage and people were coming up with all sorts of feel good AU content. The thing with AU prompts like that though is they're just that - prompts, memes, mere thought experiments or hypotheticals, not something that can necessarily work as an actual serious long form story unless you know what you're doing. I think creators who want to go so far as to 're-interpret' these stories through their own lens have a huge responsibility to still recognize and treat the original source material with some semblance of respect. In this regard, LO in its current state really should have stayed as a slice-of-life type series if it wanted to keep things light.

And I'm saying this entirely as someone who grew up on weeb content in the freaking West and got more into Greek myth because of LO. That's why I don't entirely chastise it, fandom-y type stories like LO can definitely help introduce people to cultures and stories they wouldn't have batted an eye at before (as I've started to detest LO over the last year, it's made for even better learning because I've had to research the original myths just to see how Rachel is misfiring on them entirely LMAO) but there comes the added responsibility of making sure you're not erasing or reducing the original material in favor of the silly cutesy stuff. It's an entry point, not the entire course! And that's a responsibility that falls both on the audience and the content's creator, IMO.

Yay, more text dumps! Sorry if a lot of that seems weirdly gatekeepy, it's def not what I'm trying to get across, just trying to voice my own frustrations with the depiction of LO's characters as best I can, I feel like a lot of it comes down to Rachel just not having done proper research and relying solely on tropes and self-fulfilling fantasies. If LO stayed as a slice-of-life thing that would have been fine, there's definitely a place for that sort of feel-good goofy storytelling, but by trying to be super ultra serious, it's tripped over its own feet because that's just not what Rachel is capable of depicting at this moment. She's trying to write a super serious story, but doesn't come across as if she actually takes it seriously by extension and it shows.

TL ; DR: Basically, we're gonna actually hone in on Demeter's trauma from the Titanomachy and how it affects her parenting style and 'controlling' tendencies, not only of Persephone, but of the community of nymphs she's fostered over the years. It's not about whether Demeter is the hero or the villain, because that would be missing the point entirely - it's about her role and experiences as a mother and leader of her community, a woman in a struggling position of power among a patriarchal system, and a mother who lost her child to that same patriarchal system, whether by choice or through forced marriage. No matter how one wishes to tell it, whether it's in tragedy or celebration, you can't have the story of Persephone and Hades without Demeter. That is the core of what I want to focus on and bring back to the retellings of Hades and Persephone.

Despite being a selfish and malevolent individual for the most part, Bowser would in fact (and quite surprisingly) be a wonderful dad to Junior! The youngling would be the special exception to the rule, the one thing Bowser loves more than himself. I remember I addressed said contrast in this post a while back, and it's something I definitely intend to show in my art at some point because it will be a big part of Bowser's development. 🌄

Although, I haven't quite decided whether I'll add the Koopalings or not. ^^; I feel like I would need a good reason to include them, and so far they aren't really a part of the broader narrative I've been working on.

But Junior will show up soon! :D And he shares an interesting relationship with Mario in my version. One that's a lot less hostile than you'd expect from the games. It's all I'm gonna say for now. ;)

hello i hope you can help me or give me some tips! when i first started manifesting my sp i wavered alot and that ended up showing up in the 3rd..i’ve been trying to not check the 3rd and not care for the 3rd which i think i’ve been doing great with but now my sp might be having a kid with someone else what should i do?? everytime i affirm and presist i don’t feel that wish fulfilled feeling and i feel like giving up 😞

Sounds like you are holding resistance still. It's completely normal. I've been there. I was trying to manifest my sp and as soon as I got a text from him and everything was going great. I put him on the pedestal again while I was affirming. I had thoughts of "omg he's going to ghost me again." "As soon as everything goes well and I start to have strong feelings for him it ends." And not realizing I was affirming all these negative things. I was wavering huge. I even said omg I don't want to lose him again. This happened three times. I Affirmed him back and I was doing my sp affirmations but when I was talking to him I was also pretending that he was my best friend. And that's how I stopped wavering and started putting him off the pedestal. That was what worked for me.

What I would do if there was a 3P in my situation. Don't check the 3D. Especially his social media accounts. (I know this is a tough part)

I would revise a new story. Check your thoughts as you affirm. If you waviering change it instantly. Work on your self concept.

I also love rampaging as affirming. I stand firm and keep going no matter what. And make it sounds as natural as possible. Your subconscious will pick up faster as you say your affirmations naturally in your way.

You can manifest anything you want. You are the creator of your life. You're powerful you got this!! 💕

Gotta share one of my favorite paragraphs I've ever written, and an extra paragraph. For context, this is in the aftermath of Syril betraying Dedra to move up the Imperial ladder. They're in another storage closet, because... it's their natural habitat.

The kiss is a deeply unromantic thing. There is no love in it. No shimmering magnificence, no cloying intimacy, no promise beyond that of mutually assured destruction. It is a flower with brown, brittle petals. A bird without a song. A star robbed of light. Yet while it lacks in depth, it overflows with an appalling dearth of restraint. Any tenderness is but a layer of smoke-thin gauze, a peeling-off bandage over a gash of impassioned viciousness.

He tries to push her against the shelves, but she braces her hands on his shoulders, counters and redirects his weight, and he gives in. With a sigh shed straight into her open mouth, he locks an arm around her waist, stumbles backward against the parallel lines of metal, and melts. Tears. Folds. His malleability thrills her. This is the Syril she remembers. Her Syril, restored only with the pomp and posturing of his new title hammered into pieces and left in shards on the floor. Just because she’s broken it doesn’t mean she’s pardoned him for climbing over her to obtain it.

So basically the first 3-4ish chapters are gonna feel that way like especially if you read pt. 2 (brief spoilers) when Ellie basically finds out about Abby’s hidden feelings briefly, theres this whole like what do we do now? kind of aspect.

and even though they kinda leave it up to reader it is gonna be noticeable how they are in secret competition with each-other to still kind of one-up each other despite working together! Very much uncontrollable - human nature thing bc of jealousy

So my intentions are for it to be poly where they all kind of started dating, however I feel like I wanna grasp where people are at first before I settle that as how I want the relationship to end up, if that makes sense

9. How do you find new fic to read?

Lately I haven't been able to read a lot of new fic (I'm trying to write something and also read more tradpub books). What I have read, for the most part I've found through fic recs or author posts on tumblr. My last read was @skeptiquewrites's gorgeous, gorgeous fic Winner Takes It All. I've also been poking around @dronarryfest which has a collection of incredible works currently posting.

When I first started reading, though, I would scroll through the drarry tag on ao3. No filters. Just reading summaries and choosing fics that sounded good. This is probably why I'm so comfortable with the concept of DLDR: I came across everything. Before I made an ao3 account I had all 500 tabs on my phone open to different wip fics. I'd refresh my favorites to see if any had updated. Absolute chaos. I was lucky enough to meet @the-fools-errand errand this way though, who encouraged me to make a tumblr and effectively ended that era.

23. What’s a trope, AU, or concept you’ve never written, but would like to?

I have several ideas that have floated in my head for years. One is a fic based on one of the diadem worlds in The Secret Keeper, a sort of Voldemort Wins AU in which the resistance takes much longer than it does in canon. I think this would be fantastically fun to write. I'm also really looking forward to reading how @tackytigerfic absolutely smashes this trope (and the multiverse!) in their current wip.

My other pet idea is a regency era period piece tragedy. I used the main scene I dreamt up for this in everything is relative to you, but would love to write the whole fic on its own.

And finally, Spy Draco. Another wip that's currently on pause. A couple wip snips (here and here)

Ok, this is based on the songs themselves, the charisma and live singing skills of the performers, their spot in the semi, the current betting odds and my gut feeling that's usually wrong :') Most of the stagings are still a mystery as the rehearsals only start in a week. Here we go 👇

Romania: Dead on arrival, unfortunately :< I see no way of this qualifying. Early in the running order on one of the worst spots, their bestie Moldova is in the other semi, the national final performance is messy, trashy and confusing and it's mostly sung in a language nobody understands. Theodor seems lovely but even "cute boy" votes aren't going to help as he is against Denmark, Cyprus, Greece and Slovenia.

Moldova: I believe in Moldova! They are often overlooked by the fans and betting odds and then blow up the televote on Esc stage seemingly out of the blue, last year being the most prominent example. Pasha is charismatic, a great singer and has Esc experience beforehand. Moldova is more often than not great with staging and I see them qualifying with ease as they only have to beat five other countries. Outside top-15 in the final though, maybe like 18th or 19th place? Just a guess.

Switzerland: I've been told people will be taken back because the lyrics seem hypocritical coming from a neutral country, but lyrics have never had that much meaning as most of the viewers hear the song for the first time on the night, and half of Europeans don't speak English at all, not to mention fluently enough to understand sung language on the first try. The first semi has only 15 songs and only two of them are pure ballads, this and the Netherlands. To put it lightly, the latter has not been great at the pre-parties 😶 Remo on the other hand may be the best male vocalist this year. I see Switzerland qualifying with flying colours and getting a high jury score like Austria 2018, Netherlands 2019 and Switzerland 2021. Could even win juries, but not the whole contest.

Slovenia: Cute, funny and charismatic guys that the fandom has fallen in love with <3 Great vocals, great energy on stage. Their spot in the running order is not ideal and the other ex-Yugos Croatia and Serbia are in the other semi, but they do perform after Poland which counts for something. There are many worse perfomances in their semi so I believe they'll qualify. No idea about their placement in the final though. Maybe around 20th, but could surprise us with a great result.

Finland: Most likely wins televote in the semi, getting 12 points from at least Norway, Sweden, Netherlands and Germany. Depending on the spot in the running order and how much, if at all, Sweden's new staging is going to affect their chances, I see this going two ways. Either the juries go their usual route of hating a silly Eurovision-y uptempo and destroy the chances by placing Finland outside top-ten like they did with Moldova 2022 and Norway 2019. OR they could appreciate the performance, melody and originality of Cha Cha Cha just enough to place it in third or fourth place like they did with Israel 2018 and Italy 2021, and that combined with a landslide-ish televote win would mean Finland winning. I still think Sweden is going to win, but Finland hasn't ever even qualified three times in a row and just getting in the top-5 would be incredible. Even top-3 is still in the realm of realism, but of course Käärijä would deserve to win it all 💚

What's your thoughts on the outfits this episode? They seem very symbolic to me as to the characters mental states to me.

Ooh! As usual, I thought they were very intentional and well-suited to the characters.

I've talked about Pete's clothing choices in this post and this post, so I won't go into much detail here, but his caught my attention most because his psychological and emotional state is the most threatened. The one outfit I haven't talked about yet with Pete is the one where he's sitting at the table sobbing over his dinner (that sounds sort of comical when I phrase it like that...:/). It's just a drab gray/black shirt. He's alone, so he has no reason to hide behind more elaborate patterns like at the bar. His world is bleak, and it shows.

While I'm talking about Pete, I might as well mention Vegas...he's dressing like his typical arrogant self this episode. Definitely very showy. But behind all of that, he's got a lot going on too. I think it's interesting that his outfit at the bar is a dusty red color (is it red? It's hard for me to make out in the lighting), when red represents Vegas's character at his worst. The fact that it's a muted shade could indicate his growth as a character as he shifts away from his domineering, psychotic tendencies and tries to make it up to Pete.

Kinn and Porsche's outfits are relatively in line with what we're used to, with Porsche noticeably returning to his bodyguard uniform. It's necessary since he accepted Kinn's offer to be his bodyguard last ep (though I wasn't sure that was a legit ask? I thought it was more symbolic but maybe I'm wrong), but it could also suggest how uptight he is this episode. His relationship with Kinn on the surface is in a good place, but his employee-clothing could represent how there is some tension about to boil over next ep.

For Kinn, none of his outfits stand out in particular, but I must say he was looking mighty fine standing with Porsche in front of his parent's headstone. 😌

Tankhun was also serving, as usual, and I'm glad that he at least had the decency to mourn Pete when he thought he was dead (same can't be said for Big, unfortunately *cough*), and his insistence on all-black outfits seems to reflect that. Shoutout to Tankhun in general because he makes all of his outfits work, no matter how outrageous they are.

That tk spiralling scene today reminds me I once saw someone saying that haters be like tk doesn’t deserve carlos blablabla. And then while haters are saying that, TK will pull a chair at the haters table, sit down with them and be like yeah I think I don’t deserve him too *sigh* *starts ranting to the haters how he’s not good enough for carlos* *rants about the 17262828292 reasons of why he doesn’t deserve carlos* 😅

Oh 100% TK would have an itemized list and want to compare and if the hater brought up something he didn't have on his list he would add it to his list.

It's sad, that he would do that and he feels so undeserving of Carlos' love but I hope we see more development on that part. He's already come such a long way in accepting that Carlos does love him and does want him.

Ohhhh, that's a lot of pressure, why must I pick favourites.

But fine. I will attempt to narrow down my favourites:

At risk of sounding basic, "Anyway, I've Been There" would have to be one of them because it's objectively well-written, and...like...it's very enjoyable and wonderful.

In terms of which fic I'm most anxious to update, that would have to be (and at further risk of sounding basic), would have to be EPISODE TWELVE: Upend (SEASON FINALE) of Return To the Falls, because it's just so...brilliant, and tense and hilarious, and I love them all.

Also, I've really, really enjoyed Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town because it's just...it's well written, it's sweet, it's sad, and it's my favourite imagining of Carla McCorkle (yes, over and above my own).

40. If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?

So this is an interesting question for me, because my sister fairly regularly makes fanart from my work, particularly if I ask for it. The two main fics I would want fanart for would actually be two that are...not published because they are not ready to be published (one of them being my next-generation one), but honestly, if someone made fanart of ANY of my fanfic, I would simply expire. With joy and honoured-ness.

68. What, if anything, do you do for inspiration?

This sounds really cliched, but reading a lot is like...genuinely good for inspiration. It also differs story to story.

For Spring Break Shenanigans, that actually started as a verbal saga between my sister and I, so I get a lot of inspiration from her when it comes to writing.

For my others, fanfiction-wise, they usually start one of a few ways:

Hmm. That AU exists. How can I put a spin on it? (Three Men and Two Babies, The Distance Betwen Us)

Hmmm. Nobody's talking about this aspect of this character, so I will. Alternatively, they are, but I will anyway (No Longer With Us, she has dreams to be an envy, At The End Of The World)

I want to see how these characters would interact (The Mystery Gals Hit The Road, How It Should Be)

I wonder what happened in X scene that occurred offscreen (A Heated Discussion; The Third Ranger, or How Stan Pines Discovered Teenagers Might Not Be That Terrible; Wait, What Was That)

Original-fic wise, the inspiration just kind of...comes and goes and I'm expected to go with it.
