Even though I've never drawn a Mareach piece directly related to it, I must say the "sick" concept is one that I've always been very fond of (in any fandom!), and I did gather a few notes about it for this pairing in particular.^^

What's especially interesting here is that Mario and Peach are from two very different worlds, with different foods and climates and medications, so to me it seems rather inevitable that either one of the two (or both) would eventually become slightly ill after being exposed to the other's homeland for a time; their immune system having not yet built proper resistence to its germs and bacteria.

In my AU, the bros never see Brooklyn again, so the most likely avenue would be for Mario to fall sick (developping a fever due to an infected injury, for example, or reacting badly to a certain substance however deemed benign for the Mushroom Kingdom citizens...) and Peach to be the one to look after him. 🤒❤️‍🩹

Depending on how severe the symptoms would be, the treatments would range from a simple spoon of health syrup to full medical assistance with lots of rest, and the Princess would scarcely leave his side until he's fully healed. She would use her magic to soothe the pain and help him relax, and Mario would later claim that it did more good for him than any medicine ever could have. 💗

I had also imagined a short scene where, while laying in bed in his groggiest state, Mario would smile at her tiredly and mumble half-coherently that she would have made a wonderful nurse, to which Peach would respond by reaching forward and boldly touching his face in a gentle caress. Though it wouldn't quite register, he would close his eyes with bliss regardless, sighing as sleep would finally overtake him. He wouldn't be sure whether he dreamed it or not upon waking up later, but he would feel incredibly invigorated regardless. 😊✨️

So here are my general impressions of the Touchstarved MCs based on the demo and OCs.

Unnamed: Religious trauma, cult survivor, in their “fall from grace” arc, “woman? no you misheard. I identify as an omen,” can range anywhere from wet cat to mass murderer with the highest kill count out of all of the origins (usually it’s both)

Hound: Poverty trauma, “eye of a needle,” career criminal — but if they weren’t, they give me union comrade vibes, either Just Some Guy™ or the deadliest badass there is no in between, but either way they’re probably really sad.

Alchemist: Parental trauma (whether it’s from birth parents or a parental figure via magic mentor), gifted kid burnout, there’s a little mad scientist in there — whether it is dormant, repressed, or fully embraced, there is a powerful compulsion to conduct ✨Experiments✨, Nerd™

This goes without saying but they also all need therapy.

Thinking about Dream/ the Endless and their shitty parents and it got me thinking about some absurd situation where Dream somehow gets turned into a literal child. He gets dropped on Hob's doorstep while other folks look for a solution, and Hob is over the goddamn moon to see tiny Dream, but he learns very quickly that tiny Dream is, in fact, a menace. But not for the reasons he would have suspected.

Dream is very much a neglected child. Hob constantly finds him climbing up dangerous surfaces to get something he wants because it doesn't even occur to him to ask Hob for help. He hoards anything he can get his tiny hands on because best case scenario he'll never be given anything ever again and worst case scenario it'll be taken away from him. He gets upset when Hob pays attention to him because he doesn't know what to DO, he knows how to take care of himself, he knows how to be ignored, he knows how to be scolded or punished, but Hob just sits with him and asks him questions or offers to play and Dream is so confused it makes his child emotions go haywire.

Hob is very sad, and loves Dream very much, so he spends a few days pouring all his love and care into this child, and then once he has adult Dream back he keeps doing it, because that little kid is still in there somewhere, and he needs all the hugs he can get and Hob is more than happy to give it to him.

i have autism, and i’m turning 23 in June.

something i recently realized about growing up, although i am aware i am not super old, is that there are always gonna be times that feel bad. bad in the way they did growing up. where you feel like a freak, a nerd, when you feel small. those times you say the wrong thing but you dont know why it was wrong.

but as you get older you learn who to look for. who to turn to when you feel like nothings going right. you form a group that you know will love you no matter how you talk.

i can tell when people are unsettled by my text-to-speech. i think a lot of people don’t realize how obvious they are about their discomfort. or perhaps they think i am “too autistic” to notice.

it does still get to me sometimes, but then i remember i am loved unconditionally by people i love in return. what else can you really ask for?

Okay okay okay okay but. The fact that out of the five star Assassins, the two males are kinda foils to one another?

King Hassan is the Assassin. The Grand Servant. The First of the Hasashin from where the word “assassin” comes from. He chose his path, he killed as a way of life and killed when the bell tolled. Li Shuwen is a ridiculous level of “Some Guy” in terms of legend and history. He’s a martial artist, yes, but there are hundreds of others out there. He killed every person he fought— not because he went in with the intent to kill but because that’s just how he was, he didn’t hold back.

Everything Hassan does is because of his belief in a higher cause, is because of his Faith. Li Shuwen ultimately is a man whose goal benefits no one but himself and his own curiosity.

Hassan is old, very old. Li Shuwen is still rather modern Servant having died in 1934— making him  the fourth ‘youngest’ if we dont count the Fate/School Life and the Nasuverse/Future Servants. Tesla, Armstrong, and Voyager being the only ones who beat him out though Voyager is tricky.

Hassan is on the more quiet side, serious and stoic, and seems hard to approach. Li Shuwen is rather talkative and friendly, and meshes well with children as he takes a teacher sort of role.

It’s just so interesting that when you look at the two of them.

The Aaron Billy stuff is presumably intended as enemies to friends with them ending up as being close. I suppose with Adam gone, and no Robert - for now at least - they will want to give Aaron someone of a similar age to hang out with now and then. And the Billy and Dawn having a baby at Xmas, then Rhona being distressed by her frozen embryos being used, could all reignite Aaron's desire to have a baby of his own. Just in time for Robert to show up.

I have some theories on what happens after the end of season 1.

First, I think Carson told Charlie to go home. The whole letter scene really bothered me because they’ve known each other for so long - he has to know that Carson isn’t happy, he knows her and yet lied to her thinking things could be better! So they end things, for real this time and Carson says that she has some things she needed to take care of at the house (I’m choosing to believe that some girls stayed a few extra days) and she’d go back to get her things after he got the “hero’s welcome” back in Idaho.

I REFUSE to believe that Carson would let Greta go like that (I sure as hell wouldn’t) so I think Greta called the house when she got to New York, impatiently waiting to check into whatever hotel she would be staying in before she found an apartment. Asking lady luck, the ice cubes, astrology or whatever would work that Carson would be there and answer the phone. Of course she is, she tells Greta she’s done with Charlie and needs a few weeks to get her things and she’d like to come see Greta. They start writing letters - Carson sends one before she leaves the home they shared as a couple, as a team and as herself… finally. One from the train and one when she gets to Idaho. Collecting all of Greta’s stories and trying to weave herself in them, until they are reunited.

Of course things back in Idaho are not easy. Quietly and quickly she gathers her things - baseball stuff she’s collected, books, blankets made for her mother and clothes she’s actually comfortable in, no dresses and heels. Caron has all of Greta’s letters with her, wrapped in a ribbon Greta used to tie her hair up in. Charlie left a note for Carson before she leaves for her train - all of her earnings included for her “new life” as he calls it. They will work on being friends at some point but Carson needs to be with Greta and needs to be back on the field.

Carson leaves for New York, not knowing what life will bring her and her new life. Carson keeps the wedding ring on though, it will keep her and Greta safe when they go out, she can simply say her husband is still at war. Keeping her martial status for the league but also keeping Greta safe.

Very surprised but extremely happy on how much my last post has taken off. I will always advocate for Native representation everywhere - on our screens, in our books, in our music, everywhere. Often in cinema Native representation is told from a white man's perspective and its often a stereotypical portrayal, which is the war bonnets and buckskin. Some tribes do wear that regalia for ceremonial purposes but not all do (my tribe has different regalia we wear).

I'm the most happy when Natives are shown in a contemporary context because we are often seen "of the past". So last night's episode of 'The Last of Us', showed a Native couple thriving in time of the apocalypse.

If you're not familiar or know any Native actors, writers, movies, TV shows, books, music - please read, watch or listen because there are so many great choices out there. I'm more than happy to provide recommendations.

Is it just me, or has your Mario gotten steadily more buff over time?

This is true, I won't lie! 🤭

There was a moment where I suddenly became aware that I was highly drawn to the idea of Mario not only being strong, but also robust, athletic and sturdy. It was always important for me to give him a reassuring and protective aura; a sense of both friendliness and stability. But I didn't know how to properly express that in a visual sense yet. Most of all, I wanted Mario to be a figure of gentle strength in a sense that could be felt and recognized. For him to give off a distinctly benevolent and appealing sort of masculine energy. And after some time, I found out that a very efficient way to achieve exactly that was to make his muscles slightly more defined and give him more body mass. ✍️

To me, Mario must at least remotely look like someone who can perform impressive feats of physical prowess and carry a princess nearly twice his height in his arms with complete ease, otherwise the implied vigor and endurance just doesn't feel as believable. Plus, I personally think the extra thickness suits him better. ;D ❤️
