#I love current tcw but they could never
Text
I cannot tell you how over-the-two-moons-of-Mandalore I am about the Bo-Katan we got in “The Mines of Mandalore.” While I was hoping they’d treat her character with nuance and not make her a villain, I did expect that they’d immediately set her up as an antagonist to Din’s story. I also expected that we’d pick up in Season 3 with a Bo who was angry, frustrated, despondent, rude, and impulsive and I was ready to defend every one of those emotions.
I never expected the Bo we got in this episode.
She’s fierce and tough, depressed and hurting, but then we also get these sad smiles and longing looks and these beautiful moments where her gentler side comes through.
She’s wields the Darksaber with skill and precision and the expertise that comes with both practice and willingness to connect with the saber the way Kanan taught Sabine to do. That’s her sword.
Tumblr media
But she’s honorable. She could have killed Din (or at least let him die) several times over. She could have taken the Darksaber. She could be bitter about the fact that he has it.
Instead, we see her wield the Darksaber as an expert, and then place it back on the ground with the rest of Din’s weapons.
I was scared we’d get a Bo that disregarded her character development in Rebels, but she’s proven that she’s still committed to fighting honorably for her people, just as she told Sabine to do.
Tumblr media
And she’s just so ... beautifully soft.
We saw Bo be soft so rarely in TCW and Rebels, but Katee is leaning into giving Bo that gentle side.
Her immediate concern when Grogu shows up alone and willingness to go find his dad even though at first she’d been like “It’s Din Djarin. Let’s get rid of him once and for all.”
Tumblr media
Each and every time she talks to Grogu, she’s so tender and calm. She encourages him when he’s scared and pushes his pram out of the way when she senses danger. She talks to him and knows he understands and tells him at least generally about the connection she’s had to Jedi in her life.
(In short, Bo loves babies!)
Tumblr media
The way Grogu looks at her tells me he already likes and trusts her.
Plus she’s saved his dad several times now.
Tumblr media
To be clear, I’m sure there’s going to be tension going forward, and I don’t expect Bo to always act as calmly and nobly as she did in this episode. She can be catty and rude and violent and I love that those are all parts of her character, too.
But I also think it’s already clear that in terms of her desires for her people, this former terrorist is done fighting over petty differences. She doesn’t dismiss Din even though he’s a part of a group she considers a cult (and she would know) because he’s still her people. And she’s still has no higher desire than the reunification of her scattered people and for them to be able to live in peace in spite of their long history of (and her own participation in) civil wars.
Tumblr media
“I am not my sister.”
No, but Bo-Katan is currently more like her than she ever has been.

Submitting question 1 for the chose violence cause I'm currently kinda interested in the essay post on Padme.
Choose Violence Game
Obligatory Disclaimer: These are just my personal opinions, feel free to disagree but if you're gonna be hateful, rude, or anti-Jedi then just block me and move on instead of posting your bullshit on my page. Like what you like, hate what you hate, but leave me out of it.
Ok, just in case anyone didn't see the last post, this is a repeat question but it's only getting repeated so I can go into more detail on my answer.
1 - The character everyone gets wrong...
Padme Amidala.
So usually when I see people portray Padme it's usually done in one of two ways, and neither of them are correct, in my opinion.
Characterization 1 - Padme is this weak helpless victim, who can do absolutely no wrong and has done no wrong ever---either because these people believe Anakin hasn't done anything truly wrong, or because they think Anakin has taken away all of her agency, so she's never truly responsible for her actions. She's morally perfect, never makes mistakes, and---if she does make mistakes---it's someone else's fault.
Characterization 2 - Padme is strong and independent and, again, morally perfect, but this time she's the one holding the reins on Anakin and she never backs down from him and she never loses or bends her morals and she single-handedly saves the Republic just because of how perfect, good, and unbending to Anakin's will she is.
Both of these are wrong and, in my opinion, characterizing her this way makes her less interesting.
Firstly, Padme is not a weak helpless victim who is incapable of making her own decisions.
Much like what I say when I'm talking about Anakin, yes there were outside factors to her decisions but ultimately they were her decisions. She is the one choosing to do what she does, no one else, and it actually removes all of her agency as a character to pretend that her mistakes and bad decisions were "actually someone else's fault."
Which leads me to my second point:
Padme was not "morally perfect," and she actually made many mistakes.
Padme is one of those characters that fandom likes to lift up as a perfect paragon of all morality...but she's really not. She excuses plenty of bad things and makes plenty of mistakes throughout AotC, RotS, and TCW.
- She excuses the Tusken Massacre and never comes forward about it, while also marrying their murderer.
- She is actively ready to and wants to run away and start a new life with Anakin after he's massacred the Temple, murdered children, and single-handedly destroyed the Republic.
(A quick caveat: Yes, the murder things weren't confirmed until she got to Mustafar and, yes, she says "you're going down a path I can't follow," but she only says that after his whole "we can make things the way we want them to be" speech and immediately after she's telling him to "come back! I love you!" which, to me, seems like she's still ready to run away with him, if he'd just stop with the "My New Empire" nonsense).
- She gives up the head general of the Separatist army---which could have turned the tide of the war---back to the Separatists, without contacting anyone else to discuss this decision, just to save Anakin (despite the fact that there would have been a mission to rescue him, if she hadn't).
Among other things.
My next point: Padme was "holding the reins" on Anakin and unbending to his will/she never compromises herself for him.
Padme was a strong character...but she definitely wasn't as in-control or unbending to Anakin as some people like to pretend.
She compromises her morals and her career for him multiple times.
- Again, she excuses him committing massacres and child murder.
- She marries him and wants to have a life with him despite those things.
- She puts her career, and the bills she supports in the Senate, at risk by marrying a Jedi, and doubly so by not telling anyone that she married a Jedi---both of which make it a severe conflict of interest.
- Every time Anakin tries to pressure her into doing something she puts up a fight at first...but then eventually gives in and/or comes running back to him (case and point: she wants to leave him after the whole thing with the banking clan rep, but then goes running back to him later).
If anything, Anakin is the one who has (metaphorical) control over her. Because she is willing to always bend to his will or compromise whatever it takes in order to keep him and keep him happy.
----------
I like Padme as a character, I think she's really interesting and I like to pick apart her mind and how she might think about things. But the fact of the matter is that she is a flawed character, and someone who has many layers to her---which I think more people should recognize instead of, inadvertently, making her a one-dimensional character by framing her as someone who is "perfect."
Padme is someone who likely carries a lot of trauma from the fact that she became a queen and a politician at such a young age, both of which are very dangerous careers. She was never really allowed to have a childhood and those careers likely also resulted in her having to give up the idea of ever really having a family of her own, and I certainly doubt she'd ever had a relationship before Anakin.
These things are likely why she was so willing to give in to Anakin and excuse his actions, because he represented the idea of this family and romance that she could have---that she'd likely only ever dreamed about. It was a secret, but it was something that was only hers, because she'd always been watched by everyone since she was just a little girl---as that's the nature of being royalty, of being a politician---and so she's never really had something all to herself.
So she was able to ignore his flaws and his red flags and his terrible actions because, well, he loved her and with him she could have what she'd always wanted---a family, a life outside of politics. To her own detriment.
^^^ That is the Padme I want to see more of. The strong and independent woman who also is willing to bend her own morals and values for the man she loves because she is traumatized and flawed and wants some things so badly that she's willing to overlook almost anything in order to get them.

Calendars
Summary: The war was taking a toll on the Republic’s finances, between the amount necessary to cover the war efforts to sending relief supplies to planets affected by battles, it was safe to say credits were running low. In order to get more funds, the line of command of the GAR decided to take matters into their own hands: issuing GAR-themed merch. The most famous item was the ‘Trooper Wall-Calendars’. Which you and Ashoka expertly managed to get your hands on.
Pairing: Ahsoka Tano x Reader
Word count: 1,5k
Warnings: none
Notes: I had sooooo much fun writing this, you have no idea! Honestly I don’t really know where this idea came from but now I would love to see firefighter-style calendars of the TCW characters (specially the Clones)! Both the reader and Ahsoka are teens in this, I wrote this to be set somewhere between seasons 1 e 2 of TCW. The relationship between them is heavily based on the relationship between Ellie and Riley from The Last of Us (I had specifically the HBO show in mind in this case).
I really hope you, dear reader, enjoy this and have fun while reading it. If you spot any mistakes, please feel free to warn me and I'll correct it right away, and feedback is always welcome and appreciated. I hope you truly enjoy this story.
Reader is female, but no physical descriptions provided
Masterlist | Read on AO3

Ahsoka ran as fast as her legs could carry her. She had to get back to your quarters in the temple. It was imperative that she told you about her amazing discovery. The 501st had only just landed on Coruscant when she heard the news and set off to find you immediately.
After bumping into several other padawans and almost toppling over Master Yoda (“Run in the halls, you must not, young Ahsoka.” he had chastised, but there was no heat to his words, and from the knowing smirk he sent her way, she knew that he knew she was up to something), she finally reached your door. Raising her fist to knock, she almost tumbled forward as you opened the door before she could even touch the durasteel, like you could sense her presence. You were sporting a wide grin, making her chest feel funny. But she could not dwell on it right now, she desperately needed to tell you something.
“You’ll… never believe… what I just… found out.” she panted, trying to regain her breath.
Your smile only grew wider as you pulled her inside your quarters and closed the door behind the two of you. Walking towards the bedside table you grabbed a pile of papers.
“Does it have anything to do with these?” you smirked, mischief gleaming in your eyes as you threw the pile on top of the bed between the two of you.
Ahsoka gasped, reaching down to grab the first item of the pile: a gray-cover wall calendar.
“No way!” she giggled, her smirk matching yours as she opened the first page
The war was taking a toll on the Republic’s finances, between the amount necessary to cover the war efforts to sending relief supplies to planets affected by battles, it was safe to say credits were running low. Not wanting to rely on the Senate to approve a bill that could take several rotations to pass (if it even got to that point, as many senators were not exactly friendly to the clone cause and probably thought the Republic could save up by cutting their already meager rights), the line of command of the GAR decided to take matters into their own hands: issuing GAR-themed merch. Most of the items were just cheap products such as T-shirts, plastoid mugs and fabric handbags. But the most famous item, one that had sold faster than water on a planet like Tatooine since its release a couple of days ago, was the ‘Trooper Wall-Calendars’. One of which currently laid on Ashoka’s eager hands.
“How did you get a hold of these?!” she quickly scanned the pages “I thought they were practically sold out?”
You chuckled, pulling her attention to you.
“Was at Dex’s grabbing lunch with Caleb when the first announcement came through. The two of us practically flew to the nearest convenience store.”
Ahsoka stared at you in awe. She went through the pile of calendars, her smile growing more and more mirthful.
“104th, 327th, 21st Nova Corps, the Coruscant Guard, Republic Commandos… this is amazing!” she giggled, but her smile soon turned into a frown as she realized something was missing “But what about-?”
A flash of blue and orange was shoved on her face before she could even finish her sentence.
“Had to hit three different stores for these two. We almost got mugged making our way through Uscru District. So you’re welcome.”
Giddy chuckles escaped her as Ahsoka grabbed the blue calendar and practically ripped it open.
“Oh my maker!” she exclaimed, turning the open calendar to you “Rex?!”
Representing the very first standard month was Rex, stripped down to only his bottom blacks and the lower part of his armor, staring seductively at the holocamera with his helmet under his arm, propped on his hip.
You laughed, almost choking on air as she passed you the calendar.
“No way, this is too good!” you laughed harder
“Wait, you haven’t seen this before?”
You shook your head, peaking at the next page.
“I was saving it so we could look at it together.” you turned to her and beamed, bringing back the funny feeling in her chest “You know, have one of our famous girls night.”
Ignoring the way her heart rate seemed to have increased only slightly, she grabbed your arm and plopped stomach down on your bed, pulling you down with her. She practically ripped the calendar back from your hands and you had to settle for looking over her shoulder.
“So this is what they were up to while Skyguy had me doing inventory for the medbay.” she laughed, exasperated.
“Really? Master Kit had me meditate all day in the swimming tank to learn how to hold my breath for longer.” you explained as you glanced at the pages “Something about keeping up with him if we ever had a mission in Mon Cala? I found it odd at the time but now…”
The two of you giggled as Ahsoka flipped page after page of some of the soldiers in the 501st, Jesse, Hardcase, Kix, Fives. Most of them were showing their nude torsos to some degree, some with the bottom of their blacks pulled between their teeth, the most daring ones completely shirtless.
“People actually pay for this?! To see a bunch of men, who have the same exact face, might I add, naked?” she pretended to gag.
“Well these sold out so fast, it has to mean something.” you shrugged before pointing at the current page “But let’s be honest Echo does look kinda cute in this.”
Ahsoka felt her stomach drop in a strange kind of disappointment as you pointed to a picture of Echo, his hand extended towards the camera and a soft smile on his lips. The top part of his blacks was off, a blue handprint stamping one of his pecs, much like the one on his armor. She gulped nervously, but any uncomfortable feelings quickly vanished at the sight of your teasing smirk.
“No better than Jesse does.” she chuckled, flipping back a few pages and gasping “Is that a happy trail?”
You stared at her for a moment before you both burst out laughing hysterically. She clutched her side while you draped yourself over her back, your entire body shaking with the intensity of your laughter. As your laughter died down, she couldn’t help but stare at you, a huge, beaming smile on her lips. Her giggles soon subsided in a breathy sigh, she couldn’t help as her eyes moved downwards, glancing fleetingly at your lips.
“Sooooo, which one’s gonna be next?” your voice snapped her out of her reverie.
“Well, we’re not even finished with this one, yet.” she quickly flipped back to where “We haven’t seen who represents the holiday week-” she didn’t even finish her sentence before dropping the calendar like it burned “Ew!”
“Ahsoka, what happened?!” you gently touched her shoulder as she brought her hands up to her face.
“My eyes!” she shouted “This will forever be burned into my mind!”
“What is?” you scooted forward to pick up the discarded calendar from the floor, immediately bursting into uncontrollable laughter as you glanced at the page “Seriously?! They got Master Skywalker in on it too?!”
The page which caused such a ruckus included a picture of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker in all his glory, striking a pose with his lightsaber ignited. He was severely overdressed in comparison to his troopers featured on the other pages, but was still showing a bit more skin than usual, with his undershirt gone and his vest allowing a glimpse of his bare chest.
“Oh, maker… why would they do that?” your laughter was infectious, and soon she was giggling with you.
You picked up the orange issued calendar and opened on the last page, chuckling as you turned the page to face her. The general of the 212th stood, the front of his beige Jedi robes open and showing his skin, much like his former apprentice.
“You tell me.” you laughed “I think Master Kenobi looks great.”
You both laughed, finding it amusing that the Jedi generals were featured in with their respective battalions. They were dressed more conservatively than their trooper counterparts, but it was still quite seductive. Swapping calendars back and forth you laughed amongst yourselves, pointing out different soldiers and their generals.
“Wow,” you gasped, making Ahsoka turn back towards you “Master Luminara looks good!”
Ahsoka felt a small, glimmering flicker of hope burn on her chest, but decided to keep it secluded in her heart to unpack later.
After several hours you had made your way through several calendars, laughing and grinning at each other. Ahsoka smiled, laying her head on your shoulder.
“Thank you.”
You hummed.
“What for?”
She lifted her head to look at you and found you already staring at her.
“For giving me this.”
“What?” you shook your head, chuckling “Troopers in sexy poses?”
She laughed. She was trying to be serious and you were joking around.
“A sense of normalcy.” she shrugged “This war… we never have a chance to just be normal dumb teens, you know? And now-”
When you sensed words were failing her you laid a hand on her shoulder.
“I know.” you smiled at her, and Ahsoka felt her chest fluttering again;
“Just… thank you. For everything.”
You slung an arm over her shoulders.
“That’s what I’m here for.”
As she snuggled into your embrace she felt, if only for a moment, that everything was going to be okay.

yoo I see requests are open 👀 Grievous is currently living in my head rent free so feel free to ignore the Star Wars if you're not feeling it or ya just don't write for him yes.
hhhh anywho goodness not sure what to ask. maybe some headcanons on what Grievous is like when he falls for someone. he strikes me as someone who would be majorly in denial for a long time lol. gentler (for him) actions and protectiveness not always matching harsh words. like a majorly burnt, kinda stale marshmallow, with a gooey, mostly edible center XD rambling aside or maybe some jealousy headcanons? those are always fun. whichever one might strike your fancy at all.
well I never know how to end these things lol hope you're doing well ✨
Who doesn't love the Angry Lung Cancer Robot? Not me for sure, I love that ugly thing since I first watched the prequels. I'll always be just a lil' spiteful that TCW turned him into a running gag. Sorry if these headcanons are a little less 'professional' than my usual, I couldn't form my thoughts in a way I liked so I figured you'd enjoy it more if I just vomited them out wholesale. And you've waited long enough :'3
---
He definitely strikes me as the 'affection is when I stand 3 centimeters closer' type of person. Like it's going to be just sort of an undertone throughout the ship of like 'yeah the General prefers them/asks for them to do things instead of anyone else, we don't talk about it'. It probably persists for months before anything comes of it.
If you somehow manage to notice it, it's probably a battle of deciding what in the galaxy to do about it if anything. (is getting the attention of a warmonger cyborg a good thing?) If anything you might not do anything about it just so you feel a little safer on the ship. It's not like Grievous has the lowest causality rate, though it's mostly droids.
I don't think he would have the emotional intelligence to really ever realize, someone would have to point it out to him. Perhaps like you said maybe months later he would, but that would be a pipe dream. He's not an easy guy, that's for sure.
Perhaps he'll realize, but he'll excuse it more so as he prefers you for your competency, rather than something a bit deeper. Droids get programmed to report nonemergency issues to you, because not only does he not get infuriated by them as much, he trusts your ability to solve issues just a modicum more than others aboard. A good thing? Maybe. You can deal the negotiations, he'll just stand behind you, menacingly. If things fall through, then he'll be there to make sure you don't get hurt. For strategical reasons, of course.
As for jealousy? Given the previous points I made and your own I think it would be pretty obvious that a jealous Grievous is a Grievous you want to be miles away from. He's more than likely the type that would use violence or threats of in order to keep people away.
He might also deliver things to your directly, or even make your office/barrack/personal quarters towards the bridge of the ship closer to his. It's a mix of both subtle, and horribly unsubtle things.
Anyways, Grevious is a mess. But we never said we could fix him, and that's the fun part. (give the killer cyborg a smooch and tell him he's the best general in the separatist army, he deserves it)

The Bad Batch Ep S2 Ep 11 - Thoughts & Spoilers
Spoilers,
Spoilers,
Spoilers,
So everything's beneath the cut!
I know with the Mando S3 premiere, this episode may have gotten even less attention than the rest of the show. BUT this episode had some incredible things, so here are *some* of my thoughts.
FIRST:
Tumblr media
HIM!!!!! and he was NAMED and had LINES!!!!
This is super exciting, because while we glimpsed Scorch in Season 1 while they were rescuing Gregor, I don't think he was mentioned anywhere by name, meaning it could have just been a random other RC with similar paint.
Delta Squad (from Legends) was technically canonized when they cameo'd in the Clone Wars, but it's so nice to see them again! It makes me pray that the other 3 members have escaped and are with Rex, because Scorch is *definitely* still super chipped....
Next, the MAIN thing I was super excited about:
So many things in this episode made me absolutely SCREAM, but the main one was probably FINALLY some movement on the connection between Nala Se and Omega. That's something I've been dying for more elaboration on since S1.
Omega is clearly a kid created for a specific reason, raised under specific circumstances, who has a unique bond with Nala Se, the primary creator of all clones. I was sure this would be part of the central storyline of TBB so I'm SO GLAD we're finally getting to it.
The thing is, Omega clearly has very complex feelings towards Nala Se, and Nala Se also considers Omega "special." SUPER curious to see where they go with this, especially since Nala Se seems to be reluctant to help the Empire. Understandable, given the destruction of Tipoca City, but she also never struck me as the sentimental type. I'm personally very wary of the "care" Nala Se seems to be showing Omega, and based on what we currently know, doubt that she means it sincerely—Omega (or her DNA) is likely valuable in some way.
Not sure how I'll react if they paint Nala Se as a sympathetic character, because I doubt I'll ever forgive her for what she did to Fives. Her treatment of Fives, which is also indicative of her treatment of all other clones. Her being kind(?) to Omega doesn't erase that.
I am absolutely confident that this lab and Nala Se/Omega is part of a plot that will connect to the experiments done to Grogu, which in turn will connect to Snoke + the return of Sidious in the ST. That's the running thread, to provide explanation/justification for that "twist."
While I think TBB is fun, THIS is what I personally was waiting for—Omega's true identity and why she's of value to Nala Se, how she therefore fits into the greater plan Nala Se had, and how that in turn affects not just Fett clones, but all the cloning that runs throughout SW.
I also LOVED that Omega showed her skills here—yes, she DOES know her way around Kaminoan tech!! The only time we've really seen it before is when Cad Bane kidnapped her + the S1 finale. She was Nala Se's personal MEDICAL ASSISTANT. She is older than the Batch! She KNOWS things!!
I was genuinely expecting (hoping) to learn more about Omega throughout the entire show, and we do see her being skilled + confident around various tools, but that's around it. I hope her past that she doesn't want to talk about is dragged out into the open in these last few eps.
I have a LOT of theories about Omega's past and her connection to the Batch and their origins (pst it's all in my fic), some of which will likely no longer be canon compliant, but ah well!
Other things that really made me happy:
-The Batch showing some growth due to the last episode, and growing a spine to stand up against Cid. Both pointing out that she didn't help them like they've helped her, and demanding a higher cut, though she did get the final say in the end. It was still a massive improvement!
-The ZILLO BEAST. First of all, it was definitely one of the coolest creatures in TCW, so it was super exciting to see it brought back! Its physiology is fascinating, and I loved how we got to see it visibly grow due to it feeding on electricity. This is actually the second creature we've encountered in TBB that seems to like electricity as an energy source, the first being in S1. It's neat to see this pattern, perhaps they're distantly related species?
I also LOVED that it tied into more experiments. I need to rewatch the eps, but i think it was implied in TCW that Palps was interested in the Zillo beast's armor, so I loved seeing that actually followed up on!
In general, I'm just a huge fan when world building plot points connect or are followed up on to build continuity and a greater view of the SW universe, and this episode definitely connected a bunch of points, so that was awesome!
Anyway, only 5 eps left of S2, excited to see where it goes!

Omega - What was she made for
In season 1, we learnt that Omega is a clone with pure first generation DNA, not modified for growth acceleration or obedience like the other clones (I guess because she was never intended to be used in combat). We also learn that she is part of Nala Se's enhanced clone project ("A state of heightened awareness is not unusual for an enhanced clone such as herself. When Nala Se spoke of five clones, Tarkin assumed that meant us, but Echo's a reg. The fifth is Omega." - Tech, S1E1).
Season 1 also raised the question of what Omega's purpose is to the Kaminoans, since the rest of the batch are engineered with "desirable mutations" (Cody TCW S7E1) as part of Nala Se's experiments to "yield a superior clone" (Lama Su, TBB S1E3).
Cut: What's with the girl? Hunter: She's a defective clone, like we are. Cut: Not exactly. Hunter: What do you mean? Cut: The Kaminoans don't create without a purpose. You all have one, so what's hers? (S1E2)
Now, based on what we currently know from this season, it seems that Omega's enhancement/purpose is her ability to maintain and replicate midichlorian levels in her blood. I'm assuming this was a deliberate enhancement rather than simply a case of her being 'born that way'. It has also been made clear that Nala Se is very aware that Omega has this special biological trait (wanting to keep her safe from the Empire back in season 1, destroying her blood samples, helping her escape), but it doesn't seem like anyone else knew that prior to the testing on Tantiss. So, was Nala Se playing around with the prospect of being able to create force sensitive clones as a superior 'product' the Kaminoans could offer (either by using Omega's blood in a similar way Hemlock intends to, or by just straight up tranfusing midichlorians into her - though the second option seems less likely)? If so, was there a particular reason why she kept it under raps? Was it just a little fun side project all of her own?
And was Omega created purely for this scientific purpose? Or did Nala Se actually want a little clone girl assistant too? She does seem to care about Omega, in her own strange, Kaminoan way. I have often wondered if she bonded with the girl over time, or if she created Omega with the added bonus of her being a sort of 'daughter'/lab partner for her (the existence of Emerie kind of raises the same question, as well as a WHOLE BUNCH of the other questions, which I won't add to this already long post).
I realistically expect that not all of these specific details will ever be addressed, but I still wonder about it. These characters are just so intriguing to me.
Regardless, Omega's purpose now should be to live peacefully and freely on Pabu or some other beautiful planet having all the fun she wants with a family that loves her forever 🥺🙏

@blue-mint-winter commented post:
Your welcome and I completely agree about TCW changing important characterizations, especially Anakin's. Also Barriss, I will never forgive that shit. They definitely did that. That's why my favourite eps were about Jar Jar LOL
I spent the whole day debating with myself should I go on and scream about the unfairness done to Barriss and Jedi as a whole or not since talking negative about TCW at times feels like opening can of worms, but my frustration with current star wars content already hit acceptable limits and is waaay past them so I decided to screw all consequences, it is time for a mini-rant. I hope you don’t mind me bringing that up as separate post (or if you don’t wish to be tagged in that post, lemme know :))
Okay. Where do I even start? Anyone who would sort posts through my blog will know that I love analyzing stuff and more often than not, I’m critical toward the Jedi Order (especially Order as the institution) and that through the years I have a lot of critical things to say about the new canon, with the emphasis on The Clone Wars.
TCW has literally been a thorn in my side for years and although the show had its good moments (storyline wise and artistic effects/music) that I want to acknowledge, the longer the show was run, the more it felt to me as the Triumph of Form over Substance. The creators needed to go from point A (post AotC/clone wars) to point B (RotS / Order 66) but as it was proved, they did not need to actually keep Legends (old canon) elements in the original form and things were used or discarded as they wanted. Some choices made more or less sense, some were turning our knowledge totally 180 degrees with various effects or fan reactions. Like I will never agree with chip in clone brains storyline (x)(x) nor implying domestic abuse toward Anakin and Padme (they were meant to be tragic, doomed lovers, not being in abusive relationship for Force’s sake) or erasing Prequels/Legends characterization of Anakin for the more common action macho idiotic one (something that creators themselves admitted to do, which is why Skywalker is more mix of Han & Luke because apparently some people aren’t capable of accepting introverted / emotional man as main hero? Riiight). At the same time, I’m willing to defend changes done to Mandalorians,  because the story has a great potential but sadly the show focused mainly at the pacifism vs. terrorism angle. Which I guess makes sense from U.S.-centric perspective, but for someone like me, whose country/nation actually lost its independence for over 123 years (1795 -1918) and then suffered through the Nazi occupation (1939-1945) and survived the communist regime (1945-1989) before finally feeling like free country again, then Death Watch, however brutal or incoherent at times, rings a different bell. It is not about nationalism itself but wanting to have your culture back despite all the damage done through the years of forced expulsion / displacement or warriors (those not fitting into New society) and be independent from Republic / Empire. And this hits me more closely as a Pole than terrorist narratives done to DW (and Bariss).
But the thing that irritates me the most is how characters and their powers aren’t incoherent in a sensible way. They can use Force for great action and dueling, but Anakin can’t feel Obi-Wan’s presence when the man worked undercover (sorry if the show actually explained it for I do not remember it was ever addressed?).  Anakin at first was shown as a self-sacrificing type of person (e.g. Jedi Crash) but for some reasons sometimes doesn’t do anything to save clones from certain doom even if he could use Force to stop them from falling down into lava or whatever it was in Citadel? And it is not just him? Ahsoka killed clones infected by worms but didn’t kill Bariss because they were best friends or whatever? But she is the bestie with clones! She cares! She is after all the protagonist who acts smart and all while all adults suddenly lose their brains. Like Anakin, a Jedi General, does not study maps before an attack on an enemy position, but Ahsoka did and saved the day. What a hero! And whatever she will do, it is all right at the end of day. Bo-Katan willingly supported Pre Vizsla/DW who destroyed the whole village and killed an innocent girl (whose Ahsoka befriended) but does it matter? Nope. Because she is now besties with Bo-Katan, a beloved freedom fighter, a noble lady and all the jazz.Pre Vizsla? Anyone remember him? No? No wonder, a persona non grata who would drag Bo-Katan (and Ahsoka by extension) in bad light so the show and other current sources are literally erasing him from the Mandalorian storyline. Because it is better to not remember the past than face a consequence of characters (creators) choices.
It feels like yeah, Jedi care if the episode needs it but don’t care if the show needs some shock value or feeling of danger. Mace cares for clone troopers and even offers droids a chance to surrender but isn’t somehow bothered when 12 year old Boba was put in prison for the worst ADULT criminals. Sure, it is very reasonable. Anakin cares for clones, unless the show needs a high death toll or jokes (throwing Rex off the dam without warning). Jedi will literally jeopardize an important mission just to give one of them a proper burial but will not give a shit about dying or dead clones. And so on.
I understand that the show was made for kids, but if we go into dark themes - and the show went into pretty dark stuff, mind you - then at least it should be addressed properly. Slick accused Jedi of keeping clones slaves yet it doesn’t matter. What a bad clone! Totally forgotten for the rest of the season. Bo-Katan’s past crimes don't matter since you can just erase Pre Vizsla from her narrative. Does the story need emotional impact? Create female characters (Satine, Steela, Tryla, Teckla Minnau) to kill off, so someone else (Obi-Wan, Ahsoka & Padme) could use it for either development or making political statements and either turn dead ones into some saints or forget them all. Or just kill off clones, there is so many of them anyway, who cares how competent soldiers they were or if you make them act idiotic. Jedi lead an army made of people with no legal right, but the clones *love so much them they have nightmares about order66* so everything is right. All makes sense, right?
This doesn’t just influence how fans see Anakin (turned into a typical action male lead) or how Ahsoka is literally everywhere now. The show, as I’m seeing it, did a great disservice to Jedi. And Barriss… Barriss is just the tip of the iceberg. The authors literally twisted every established clone wars storyline around a new character - Ahsoka Tano - so there was no real reason to use Barriss since they could simply introduce us to original Ahsoka’s friend. She already interacted with so many original Jedi characters but instead the team took one of the most known Legends!Jedi Healers and turned into terrorist? Killing innocent people to prove Jedi lost their ways? It really feels disrespectful, both to fans and Jedi.
And you know what TCW did not show us? Jedi Force-healing their troopers. Something that Barriss did on various points in Legends sources. She literally worked in various Republic Mobile Surgical Units (Rimsoo) as was seen in Republic comics series & Medstar duology or helping at triage unit(s) and as Jedi healers would not abbadon the wounded during enemy attack. Like when fire spread around them and cut away from safe way to evacuate, her first worry was about the injured people (Republic #65)
Tumblr media
I’m really supposed to believe a person with such a mindset and compassion would decide to kill innocent people to make a point about war? Really? REALLY? Even more since there was no focus on why a Jedi like her could break and do something like that in the first place? This wasn’t a development or fleshing out for character, it was just shifting the blame on someone so Ahsoka could get out of Order before RotS/Purge. Which is unfair to Barriss.
Oh, and by the way, remember how Luminara was talking to Anakin to let it go and accept that his padawan may have died or something along the lines? The mentioned Republic #65 has Mace Windu personally searching for survivors and not leaving enemy lines without checking first if someone survives even when he was told that enemy may attack at any moment:
Tumblr media
This is a proper Jedi. There is a difference between accepting that you did not manage to save someone and not bothering to at least try to save. Which is just another reason why TCW Jedi strikes me more as arrogant, manipulative and uncaring than the flawed people presented in Legends.
Good Force, it is really bad if I'm going out of my way to rant about respecting Jedi characters...

What are your thoughts on Kenobi?
hiiiiiiiii ❤️ thanks for asking!
so I'm still pretty sick n feverish rn so these thoughts might be a bit scattered. I think it's important to know that I went into kenobi with relatively low expectations. after watching boba fett, the final season of tcw, etc, I don't rlly expect these series to be much more than frilly filler that dismisses it's own source material and let's just say kenobi didn't do much to shift that expectation.
It was a waste of Hayden: despite being a they/them, I am now, forever and since the age of 8, a Hayden Christensen girlie!!! But my mans was WASTED, I understand he was (allegedly) in the Vader suit the whole time but....its a waste. At bare minimum there shoulda been more ani/obi prequel flashbacks woven throughout each ep instead of that one in ep 5. Like they dragged him off the farm to cosplay darth Vader. I wanna know what Disney has on him to make him do this because lord love a duck, this was pathetic and using him so heavily in the press was akin to false advertising.
Individualism is a DISEASE: I'm currently writing a video essay about Anakin so I'm not gonna elaborate a lot on this point here except to say that having Anakin claim that HE HIMSELF killed Anakin Skywalker is an INSULT to how the prequels clearly placed the blame for Anakin's turning on the Jedi on multiple factors, many of which were systemic, to the point where even in the prequels Anakin CONSISTENTLY outloud blames the Jedi for making him this way. That, "I did" line in ep 6 was completely unearned and spat in the face of George Lucas's Anakin characterisation. And for what? all to free obi wan of a guilt he has every fucking justification to feel. Anakin was never EVER solely responsible for becoming Darth Vader. To have him say so just Disney depoliticising star wars, as they've been doing since TFA by making characters into fucking toys.
Leia, I'd kill for you: about the only thing that kept me watching after ep 3, apart from the hope of seeing Hayden, was Leia. Vivien Blair was absolutely adorable and did such a wonderful job emulating Carrie Fishers energy without just imitating. Along with her performance, I appreciated seeing characterised and fleshed out as a main character, rather than a side character in someone else's story. She was perfect and her and Ewan were so lovely on screen I was just 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 the whole time. She was the star of this silly series as far as I'm concerned.
The racism...yikes! I've talked about reva on my blog already so I'm not gonna repeat it, but putting Tala, a brown woman, in Nazi adjacent costuming for the majority of her screen time and then killing her off to save the white dude? Yikes. Also, Sung Kang being inhumanely evil and green? Literally dehumanising. Also, Kumail being untrustworthy criminal grifter? Nope. I was so shocked Oshea Jackson's char lived because the racism in this series was so bad.
The environmentals were appalling: this is a gripe I have with all Disney + content, but the fact that this show about Obi Wan made in 2022 looks more visually bland and flat than movies made in the early 00s is EMBARRASSING. Ani and Obi fought twice in this stupid show and on both occasions the environment was essentially interchangeable!!!! You could not say that about any of the duels in the prequels because they actually have visually compelling narratively relevant settings!
Natalie Holt and John Williams collabing on the score was soooooooo good. Natalie being such a gifted fresh composer combined with John Williams legendary star wars tracks made for the most outstandingly scored d+ show to date. The score made it for me, honestly
A prequel only works as an emotionally driven tragedy: the thing about making something that's sandwiched between 2 establishment events in the story is that your only option to actually making it compelling is to focus on building emotional conflict over plot. Sadly, this show made its central conflicts all plot and hardly any emotion. Every cliffhanger was things we knew the answers to already, yet the show wants you to be worried that Luke Skywalker might die?? Laughable. When Obi says, "then my friend is truly dead" that's what should have been foregrounded as the main conflict for Obi Wan. Not whether Darth will learn of the kids, or whether reva will kill him or whatever the fuck! The throughline for the show should have been obi wan believing there was still good in him, Obi Wan believing that Anakin could be turned back, but we never get a proper sense that he actually believes any of that. Moreover, the actions he takes like protecting leia, burying his saber, the nightmares, his conversations with Reva - they all speak to him already accepting Anakin as being dead and just being Darth. That "then my friend is truly dead" line is so utterly unearned and unnecessary that it's almost funny. That line should have been TRAGIC but it's not because the show never invests in the emotional conflict of it, just stupid plot conflict we know will be resolved anyway.
Padme: I really loved how much this series acknowledged Padme's loss as equal to Anakin's in terms of forces for good lost to tragedy. Truly the only and most compelling emotional arch for Obi in this silly show was him figuring out how to tell leia about who her parents were without imparting the pain of losing them. Again this is one of the few genuinely positive things I can say about the show because it was something actually character focused.
A waste of qui gon - lmao it's hilarious to me that qui gon was literally the guy who chose Anakin to be the chosen one and is essentially responsible for putting ALL THIS into motion, but the forces that be on this wasteful show are like, "let's just have him cameo for a quip at the end". Borderline insulting!!!!!!!! Like qui gon DIED fighting for Anakin to be trained as a Jedi and abandoning obi to train him alone and we don't even get to see them have a meaningful conversation about any of that? Fuck off.
Endless repetition: I literally hate that the so-called iconic moments in this show are mostly just the show imitating what's already been done. Like Darth and Obis 2nd fight is just copy paste Ahsoka and Darths fight from TCW right down to the dialogue and most of the visuals. The whole rescuing Leia from the base is just imitating ANH without saying anything interesting too and sure obi said the "hello there" but Why are people treating that as meaningful when it's just a fucking gag reference?? If I wanted to watch ANH or ROTS I woulda just done that, I wanted something new. God forbid the show purporting itself as a character piece actually....be a character piece.
Anyways, I can't say I fully regret watching it. As I said, elements were enjoyable. But there was nothing in it that really justified its existence to me. Like, this coulda been a really fun star wars novella and I probably woulda been fine with it, but promoting it on the strength of ewan and Hayden returning and mostly wasting their time on screen with shit we already know that's inconsistent at best and shallow fan service repeating what's been done at worst just left a bad taste in my mouth. Those of us who loved and grew up on the prequels deserved better. Ewan was giving really fucking sad, hot uncle vibes though so I suppose it'll always be there for a thirst watch 🤷🏻

Re: TCW as meta commentary
A little while ago, I commented on a post about the electrocution that Anakin experiences during The Clone Wars animated series, but since my response turned into a bit of a rant I decided to make a separate post instead. It’s become almost a meme these days to say that Anakin must have 'brain damage' from all that electrocution during the Clone Wars. I realise that tumblr just likes to joke around, but I personally get frustrated with these sorts of 'readings' because it's just...not how I personally view these kinds of things at all. When I watched TCW back in the day, I just presumed that the reason there was so much electrocution was to give a ‘nod’ to Vader being so averse to Palpatine’s Force-lightning in RotJ. Having Anakin tortured countless times in a similar manner to how Luke is at the end of RotJ then explains why Anakin/Vader can’t abide seeing his son tortured that way any longer (he knows all-too well what it’s like!) and finally snaps and kills Palpatine. The fact he hates and is maybe even terrified of Palpatine’s Force-lightning by that point (knowing it will almost certainly kill him) also lends his final sacrifice in RotJ another level of pathos and heroism.
Of course, one could just dismiss the electrocution as the writers being sadistic and saying ‘let’s torture Anakin all the time’ (which is definitely part of it, lol), but I also feel like there's more going on there. Everything in the (original Lucas-era) seasons of TCW was constructed as a sort of ‘meta analysis’ of the PT x OT saga, explored via the Clone Wars-era characters and themes. One of the reasons TCW was even made in the first place was to shed further light on the Prequels at a time when SW fans were still fairly hostile to it. And particularly to shed light on the Prequels in relation to the Original Trilogy. That’s why Anakin was explicitly shown to be the Chosen One in the Mortis Arc—because at the time there was still tons of confusion from fans on the subject (despite Lucas confirming it many times in interviews) and the show was trying to clarify that.
I think people these days get tripped up because they’re trying to take every detail of TCW way too literally. Some aspects of the show can work on a literal level, but not everything. Simply due to the fact it's an animated series (where the rules of gravity don’t even apply at times), there is no way that every single moment in it could be considered 100% canon anyway. Acknowledging that some elements of the show couldn’t possibly be meant to be taken literally was easier to do during the pre-Disney times when the series was still just another entry into the Expanded Universe. It’s only because Disney has now absorbed TCW into their ‘official canon’ (and keep churning out content related to it—something I’m NOT happy about) that there’s all this sort of external ‘pressure’ to view it as completely canon.
Speaking of which, I’ve noticed a lot of polarised opinions on the series lately, ranging from people who accept it wholesale to those who flat out hate it and see it in the same vein as the current Disney material. I can't comment on the 'final season' released under Disney because I never watched it and probably never will. That being said, I personally have a great fondness and nostalgia for the 2008-2013 series, in part because I watched it with my husband when we first got together. If the OT represents my childhood and the PT represents my teenage years, then TCW is from a charmed, golden era just prior to the Disney takeover when I was bonding with my husband over our shared love of SW. Sure, I have issues with some parts of it at times, but it was never a big deal for me in the past because I never viewed the series as canon on the same level as the main six-film saga. Rather, I've always seen it as an interesting illumination on the saga, some of which I agree with and some of which I don’t, and some of which I accept into my own personal headcanon, and some of which I discard.
Things I adore and have taken fully into my heacanon: Ahsoka's character and Snips and Skyguy's relationship. They mean too much to me to not do so. Likewise, all the cute, romantic, and (positive) emotional Anidala moments, as well as the Obitine ship (aka the only ship for Obi-Wan that ever made sense from my perspective). I also view Rex and several of the other Clones as canon additions, because fleshing out the Clone characters was always very important worldbuilding and I'm glad it was included. Similarly, I love all the humorous moments and banter, especially in the early seasons. But on the other hand, there are several story arcs in the later seasons that are either too ‘out there’, blatantly ooc, or even incredibly disturbing (Zygerrian arc, for instance), and I refuse to accept these as literal ‘canon’. Nevertheless, I can't fully dismiss them either because there are still moments of these episodes that I enjoy and value. In those instances, I sort of step outside the story for a moment and look at it from a meta perspective to discern what they were trying to do and say with those storylines, since taking them literally would be too jarring. Likewise, no matter how many times I watch TCW (and even having seen most of Rebels as well), I’m NEVER going to accept the idea that Maul was somehow still alive and wreaking havoc during the Twilight of the Republic and even during the Dark Times. I don’t accept it as canon because I feel it detracts not only from the impact of the Duel of the Fates in TPM, but also from the symmetry and beauty of the perfectly mirrored PT x OT saga as a whole. I can acknowledge that some of the Maul storylines in the animated series were interesting and even emotionally impactful (and can enjoy Sam Witwer's voice acting for him), while also sticking to my guns and saying ‘this whole premise is just plain silly, I am not accepting this as real’. (I would have actually been more amenable to Maul if he'd been 'ressurected' in a different manner, but that's a subject for another post.)
So, while I enjoy TCW, I personally think it’s more enjoyable if you stop believing everything in it is meant to be taken completely literally or realistically, and instead view it as part fun, entertaining romp, part ‘missing moment’ fanfic, and part serious (if somewhat dark and twisted) meta-commentary.

Update
HOOOOOOO BUDDY, how about that hiatus EH
So um. Still ongoing. But I might be rebranding this profile, bc ya noodl has found themself completely enamored with
You'll never guess it
MORE PIXELATED CHARACTERS
But this time, not Star Wars related! Let me explain. Life/depression&ADHD/writing/interest stuff under the cut, I'm 33 years old minors pls do not interact
So for a great many years I've sort of had this pattern of bouncing around between interests, entirely due to ADHD/depression having me in a death grip. It makes sticking with things VERY difficult.
That being said! My first and greatest love to pour myself into is Star Wars and Clone Wars/Mandalorian related things, so that's what I always find myself cycling back to. However, before there was TCW (which is arguably where that part of my personality began), there was....
ANIME and manga
So, now I find myself in this dilemma. I've been unable to write for months now, or draw, and it has honestly been doing terrible things to my psyche. But currently, I don't have the completely vested interest I did when I was still writing TCW a few months ago. (A few. IT WAS EARLIER THIS YEAR LMAO.) But due to A Shenanigan or two, I've found myself intensely interested in My Hero Academia and other anime/manga, and it's been FUN. Because those were my roots! Sailor Moon and YuYu Hakusho were what introduced me to both my sexuality and gender identity/expression, and ALSO fandom culture/writing/art. So I have about a thousand different tumblr blogs (besides my main @spookoofins, there are seven others) and now find myself wanting to post more of my writing/art.
But do I do that HERE, or do I make another blog entirely? I do have a self-shipping/writing blog I could blow the dust off of, because let's be real, I do that for the majority of the time I dabble in fandom stuff.
So what do? IDK yet, but hopefully I will be able to put time into applying to another job where I'm not dying due to exhaustion/not having enough time to FUCKING EAT (no literally, it's a problem). We shall see folks! Thanks for sticking around as long as y'all have!

AHSOKA SPOILERS AHEAD
YOU’VE BEEN FOREWARNED!!!
Also below you’ll find that I have a bone to pick…
YES THEY FINALLY PUT A READMORE BUTTON ON MOBILE!!! FINALLY!!!
Anyways!
The new Sabine and Hera…
Idk man…
I know they’re trying to make the characters their own, but like…
Ahsoka has a certain spark. Live action is actually doing it justice!
But Hera and Sabine… where’s their fire? They’re too placid and soft… they survived a war! Their sass carried them through it and saves their sanity in the process! 5.5 years wouldn’t take away that fire that had Sabine in tears when Kanan challenged her to prove she could wield the dark saber! The way her voice shakes with anger and pain. This new actor hasn’t shown an iota of that. She’s too timid. Where’s Sabine’s spirit? She’s Mandalorian for crying out loud! We should feel that in her presence!
AND SINCE WHEN IS SHE FORCE SENSITIVE??? WTF???!!! IM SO CONFUSED ON THAT POINT!!! WHY??? It was better when she wasn’t. It gave her a strength the Jedi could never have. She was capable without the force. That’s so important to who she is. Why did they change that?
And Hera… she’s a mother now, yes, but she always was. (Also, where IS Jacen?) And where’s Hera’s tenacity? Her sassy “really? They’re trying to pull that on me? Let them try it, and learn why it was a dumb idea” and “Phoenix squadron! NOW!” Like her confidence and care could be heard in her voice, but live action Hera feels meek and too “let me fight it for you”, especially considering it’s SABINE WREN she’s fighting for. Sabine might need a push, but she doesn’t need mom to rescue her like that! And I know she’s supposed to be broken hearted, but we’ve seen her broken hearted in rebels! She still had her fiery disposition! That is what makes her, HER!
Where’s their fire???
That being said, LIVE ACTION LOTHAL IS REALLY PRETTY!!! Very Alderanni but desert world vibes! I like it!
And idk why I forgot that David Tennant is Professor Yang!!! It’s so good to see Yang again!!! I keep waiting for him to pull out the kyber safety compartment again. Idk why. But it would be a fun nod to tcw 🤓
But seriously tho, Sabine and Hera are strong women! Where is that strength? It is currently MIA… I am waiting and hoping, but bracing for disappointment unfortunately…
I’m also worried about Thrawn… I hope they do him justice! They have a chance to show that there are good people on both sides of every war, but will they take this opportunity to show it, or will they simply lean into Rebels too far and make him too evil?
And since when have they been able to heal a saber through the liver? Is Qui Gon JUST a joke now? What is it with the new Star Wars ignoring that that’s a serious injury???
But back to Sabine and Hera… I think they forgot to remind the actors that BECAUSE these characters started as animated, the ONLY thing the original voice actors had was their VOICE! So if the live action actors can’t get the voice right, they aren’t playing the character we know and love…
Ezra sure nailed his <30 second bit! You could HEAR his humor and his ego and his strongest moment from Rebels in his intonations!!! It was SO GOOD to hear our favorite force blueberry again!!!
And Ahsoka is back!!! Tho without someone with fire by her side she’s a little toned down… I have a feeling we’re gonna get her tcw fire back soon tho! She’s gonna need it! We caught glimpses of it in this, and glimpses of the character arc she’s gonna undergo! That’s good! And bodes well for the show!!!
AND JAI KELL IS A SENATOR NOW!!!! You go dude!!! He’s come so far!!! And Ryder Azadi is back!!!

Questions for Muns of Canon Muses [Accepting]
Tumblr media
4. Have you made any outright changes to the canon material in order to write your muse the way you wanted (entire scenes you chose to omit, chapters you say never existed, things you assume were never said, etc.)?
Tumblr media
// SW is always changing canon, I can’t keep up with Lucasarts’ speed.
Oh I most certainly have done that! Because, I have been enjoying to mix Legends canon (the one I’m still slowly getting to learn more of) with the current one (which is the one I’m the most familiar with). While TCW is obviously essential to Rex (I have to stick to it, no arguing there), Legends has plenty of material that I take into consideration, for their BGs (pre-AOTC) and how they operate. Even if at times, the EU feels like a whole ass acid trip. Unfortunately, there is still a lot I have to get through. So, until I’m well familiarized with the source material. I’ll be trying to fill in the gaps on my own, so I’ll change them on a later date should I find anything of substance to me.
Fox is the one I did the most obvious/blatant changes to, just so I could expand more on his story (I want him to live more than 5 minutes into the Empire).
5. What is an aspect of your muse’s canon material or canon existence that you never had the opportunity to explore but really want to?
Tumblr media
// I have been meaning to do Empire era stuff since FOREVER.
Both Rex and Fox have PLENTY of things to do, in that time period. I’m not watching Andor, not sorry for that. I love that these two are in complete opposite sides, and they are perfect to show the utmost state of disarray that the galaxy finds itself during the early life of the Empire.
And there are also AUs that can be used here... Imperial Rex? Deserter Fox?
6. What is the general opinion of your muse’s fandom about them? Do you agree with it?
// You’re in my blog, you know damn well the whole ‘clones are a family’ fanon shit doesn’t stick here.
Rex’s fanon isn’t that bad, I feel like. Simply because, most people are well acquaintanced with this character.
But Fox? Nobody bothered to double-check, and they are in denial mode that they have uwu-fied one of the arguably worst clones within the GAR. And it will give you whiplash, regardless of where you’re coming from (as in-- your first contact with this character was either through the fanons, or through the current canon or even Legends [which is IMO one of the heaviest/most dark things I’ve seen, out of this source material]).
Tumblr media
I’m not bashing or shaming, I can understand why these things are popular. People generally prefer easier to digest things. My problem is that... People try to take it as if it is, some kind of canon replacement. I hear way too often how ‘Fox is the fandom’s OC’. And as sb who LOVES, unpopular characters, this shit sucks for me.
7. For movie or TV muses, what is your muse’s favorite scene? Why? Can you show a screenshot?
Tumblr media
// I’m fine :’)
Tumblr media
// And this is from when Fives was drugged & we are seeing through his perspective.
8. For movie or TV muses, what is a scene with your muse that you hate? Why? Can you show a screenshot?
Tumblr media
// Rebels my beloathed. Rex’s design & looks are fine........... To me the problem was how the clones were introduced in the series. I hate what this babies’ first SW show did. Yeah sure, Ezra calling Rex by his serial number, without any issues? Yeah fine & dandy guys. Wolffe’s PTSD? Comedy for the whole family. Gregor is just a uwu wacko anyway.
Tumblr media
// Generally speaking I prefer phase 1 armors for the clones. But IDK, I don’t vibe with Fox’s design in specific. This is a case where the phase 2 armor, was indeed a great improvement. It just looks kinda of bland and forgettable.

Hello and happy fifth blog-birthday!! 🥳🥳 I'd like to ask for a TCW/prequels Star Wars ship, please. Thanks a lot in advance!! Your blog is always a bright spot on my dash! And I love your OCs and how unapologetic you are about their existence, it's such a breath of fresh air!
I'm a bisexual woman who's been described as "sympathetic", "reliable" and "a leader" (as well as a "mom friend") by her friends. I consider myself to be hard-working, analytical, organized, loyal (to myself before everything else, but also to my loved ones), a bit of a perfectionist and very polite (at least with strangers). I'm also extremely independent and hate feeling vulnerable.
I enjoy feeling useful and helping others, and I always feel guilty when I don't have the answer to something. My main hobby is stories: I love reading, watching films/series, playing video games with a good story, learning about history or people's lives, etc.
I am known for my integrity and my consistency, and would never cheat on anything. I've always been a great student thanks to my intelligence and my hard work, and am currently studying Law because I want to have the skills and the position to help people/make the world a better place.
As for your ship, I think I'm going to fandom switch and ship you with Stephen Strange. You two are weirdly alike in some ways, but your sweetness and reliability would help him keep his feet on the ground whenever he was letting his ego get the better of him. He'd struggle letting you past his barriers, but in the end the two of you would have a very supportive relationship, and he'd be your biggest cheerleader in your book-writing endeavors. I also think you'd enjoy learning magic/magic history from him, and headcanon him to be a bit of a cinephile, so there'd be no shortage of things you two could do together. The one caveat is of course that he's almost always involved in some sort of "saving the world" shenanigans, but I'm sure you two could make it work despite the constant mortal danger.
I ship you with...Tony Stark
Tumblr media
Maybe not the obvious pick on the surface, but here me out. If there is anybody who is going to respect your intelligence and independence, it's Tony. He might not be serious all the time, but he's no fool either and doesn't tolerate them. The simple fact he can consistently rely on you for an intelligent conversation does wonders. He also doesn't take it personally when you don't ask for help or simply tell him to get out of the way and let you do it. On the other hand, he'd also help pull you out of yourself and relax. Not everything has to be perfect and he'd be quick to point out when you're working yourself ragged. Granted, he's a hypocrite in this regard, but that's neither here nor there. He's supportive of you, and wants to take care of you without stepping on your toes. It's a fine line, but the pair of you would manage to work it out all while striving towards the same goal of making the world better then you found it.
Tumblr media

You know what?  I’ll say it: floral wallpaper deserves to come back into style.  I do, in fact, want my walls and my dresses to look like my grandmother’s couches, thank you very much.
also, by the way, I!!!!!  HATE!!!!!!  STUDYING!!!!!!  and finals suck.
Of the many things that I love my orchestra for, one of those is that there is no shortage of pride in our work.  We livestream our concerts and after every single one there are multiple days of watch parties and gushing about how good they went.  We are not bashful; we are proud, and we have things to be proud of!  We put together a banger of a concert in basically two months since last fall’s was delayed.  I haven’t watched through them yet, but I definitely want to and will at some point.  So many people coming together to be excited about music.
At this point I’ve seen a few clips of the concert and we sounded really great from the audience’s perspective for sure.  But even with our loud-as-all-get-out choir director super-tenor singing the alto part half the time, I still can’t hear the alto parts.  Three to four of us up in the front row, three more in the back, and we’re still the silent section???  HELLO?
I promise I haven’t been like, entirely ignoring the Roe v Wade overturn leak thing, I just don’t feel like I have novel thoughts about it?  This is upsetting.  And I don’t know where to go after that.  An attack on women’s bodies, on their sexualities?  Absolutely yes.  Interesting how Democrats in Washington have been sitting in safety over this issue, not really considering it an issue, as Republican candidates at all levels of government for at least as long as I’ve been paying attention to politics have targeted this as The Issue and they’ve made this known.  I think I’m experiencing a weird dissociative anger, the same type I feel when I hear about certain racial injustices (the volume of black and native women who go missing and are literally never found, police brutality, etc).  Where all of my thinking turns to static because it reminds me that I don’t actually live in a world where things I take for granted (and just my own safety in general) are guaranteed.
Also speaking of women’s issues... this whooooole Amanda Heard/Johnny Depp trial feels weird.  And people’s reactions to it feel weird to me.  I’m not going to say anything more on it than that because people have some really strong opinions and I feel like it’d be really really really easy to watch “highlights” that are clearly favored for one side or the other and completely neglect what the other side brings to the table since I’ve certainly got better things to do than watch the whole thing.
Completely switching gears, consider this: A jukebox musical based on songs by The Crane Wives.  Currently thinking, like, it’s a story of two women.  One (A) who’s reaching a breaking point with her partner (I’m thinking the engagement was arranged or something like that) and will run off west and another (B) who’s living on her own out west after her partner left her.  Wild West era, homestead act n all or whatever.  I think A will run into B, B takes a liking to her and decides that it might be time to start living again.  I have not a single clue as to what the plot would be exactly.
[edit: I wrote out a lot of it here but moved it to my GDrive just in case I go through with it lol.. had I known about TCW only a year earlier I could’ve done this for my honors capstone but alas]
Today I’m thankful for Darren Korb and Ashley Barret because the two of them just pull out banger after banger after banger.  In The Blood, In The Flame, The Spine, whew.  Makes my lil Evanescence-lovin heart tear up.
This summer I’m going to see if I can find songs with bass solos in them bc saxophone-guy sounds so forlorn when he talks about how our orchestra never really does songs where he could even be featured.  ...y’all please help I think I got it bad.  For a gamer of all the types of men oh my god

Rey Gives No F*cks About the Grandfather Paradox
Okay so since nobody’s suggested a fic under these terms, I ended up expanding on this post on discord and things snowballed. We kept to the basics of the entire plot revolving around Rey really hating her grandad and leveraging her blood relation to not be unalived about it.
With contributions by @atagotiak, @dracothulhu, @thepallaspalace, and several others. The title comes from @gelpenss.
The basic thing I absolutely need is this: Rey gets thrown back to the middle of the clone wars, and the subsequent plot leans in really heavily on her being, genetically-via-clone-dad, the daughter of the guy running the entire galaxy.
Nobody knows what to do with her.
The timing is mid-TCW for the past (because I want Ahsoka there) and vaguely between Episodes 8 and 9 because I... never watched E9 and don’t want to worry about the timeline. The only things that matter is that Luke is dead (he can die as he did in canon) and that Rey knows she’s Palp’s granddaughter (not the way she does in canon).
We'll say Luke found out from Anakin's panicked force-ghost and just went "well, fuck, okay, I should tell her this before she ends up in a situation like mine and finds out mid-battle or something."
Luke, prior to time-travel: Okay, so, now that I'm dead I know some things I didn't before. Like who your parents were. In the interest of full disclosure because I was in a very similar situation and I don't want you learning the way I did, I'm just going to come right out and say that your father was a clone was Sheev Palpatine. Rey: ... Luke: Are you okay? Rey: I don't know who that is.
(She grew up on Jakku, the history education was a little subpar.)
Setting The Scene
Imagine Rey showing up during or immediately before the clone wars. There’s this phenomenally powerful feral teenager from a desert backwater who tells you that if you ran a paternity test, it would probably pop up the Chancellor. She may or may not bring up cloning. She accuses said Chancellor of being a Sith Lord.
Your other phenomenally powerful feral teenager from a desert backwater, who may not be a teenager anymore but only barely, is very offended by this because Palpatine’s a Very Nice Old Grandfather Figure, but also he’s a little full of side-eye because if the blood test comes back as proof, then Palpatine had a kid and didn’t even know about them, or lied to Anakin, and that’s! Bad! Family’s important!!!
Palpatine hears about this daughter he apparently? Has? And is very confused because the timing doesn’t match up with ANYTHING he was doing, so the kid isn’t natural, and he says as much. (There is an explanation! It’s not a correct explanation, but he does come up with one.)
Finn and Poe and BB-8 all get dragged along because why not have the gang there? Nobody that’s already born, because [handwave] conservation of souls or something, IDK, point is the only person dragged along that’s even remotely close to already existing is Luke’s Force Ghost, who mostly hangs around begging Rey to be less impulsive. Finn is good because he is a nice polite boy, but for actual useful information they need Poe. The unfortunate situation is that the three do not land together. They land at the same time, in completely different corners of the galaxy. This means that nobody is there to curb Rey being her most impulsive self.
Time travel Rey knows two things. Luke’s dad ends up evil. Palpatine has always been evil.
She can solve one of these problems by killing the other, yes?
Rey: Ready to Rumble
See, the initial idea was this: Rey tried to break into the senate to kill Palpatine, got arrested, and then used the "he's biologically my father" card to get out of jail free. (Force Ghost Luke follows her like “please take five seconds to think this through.”)
But.
But.
It would be very, very, very funny if The Force just dumps her in a flash of light in the senate building and she just attacks Gramps on sight. Just a shouted "YOU!" and no-hesitation attempted murder.
Palpatine has no idea what's going on.
Rey took maybe two seconds to get identity confirmation and then started swinging.
Tumblr media
[Image Description: An individual in a green metal helmet with an eye slit, holding a pistol. In the upper left, upper right, and lower middle are the phrases “I do not know who I am...” “I don’t know why I’m here” and “All I know is that I must kill.” End description.]
Of course, she gets arrested. There are Master Jedi in the Senate. There are Clone Troopers. Palpatine isn’t the weak old man he pretends to be. Of course she’s stopped.
But she isn’t executed in time for Palpatine to stop her from ruining his entire reputation.
Immediately after Rey fails to kill her Shitty Granddad, Luke's ghost shows up and begs her to not talk about the Sith thing because it will completely undermine everything she's trying to do. Pass off the attempted murder as something else!
Rey, panicking: "that fucker left me on a desert planet for 10 years!" "You owe me 19 years of child support you son of a Hutt!"
The Jedi have to do the investigation, because the girl showed up with a laser sword, and the conversation is, uh... interesting. (“Where did you get that lightsaber?” “I got it from a mysterious old pirate lady I never met before. I don't know, I was being shown around by a smuggler and a Wookie.”)
Interviewer: Why did you try to assassinate the Chancellor? Luke: Say it wasn't assassination. Rey: It wasn't assassination. Int: You weren't trying to kill him? Luke: Assassination has to be politically motivated. Rey: This was, um... not political. Assassination is political, right? Int: You mean this was personally motivated? Rey: Yes. Int: I see. What personal motivation? Luke: Jakku! Rey: He's my grandfather. Int: ... Rey: Possibly father. Nobody was very clear on that. Int: ... Luke: Tell them to run a paternity test. Rey: Oh hey, a blood test would tell us which, right? Int: ............ Rey: I spent ten years as an orphaned scrapdealer on Jakku. He's my father. I'm kind of a little angry. Int: ........... Luke: Good job, kid. You bought yourself some time. Int: I'm going to get a medic to see about that parternity test.
Obviously, it comes back positive. Congratulations, Sheev, you’re the father.
Rey comes with a ready-made built-in excuse for hating Palpatine that nobody can question or fault her for!
Rey, pouring Truth into the Force: I didn't even know I was related to the Chancellor until a few months ago, but it's his fault I grew up the way I did, and he should take some responsibility!
The entire thing is mostly kept hush hush but someone leaks it to the press and Palpatine's ratings tank.
"Chancellor, I think we'll need to waive family visitation until she wants you a little less dead." "I would like to find out why she wants me dead, and indeed, where she came from." "...sir, for your own safety--"
Who would win? A master plan years in the making spanning decades of manipulating and work? or One (1) paternity test
"Okay, so, Rey Palpat--" "Ew, no, I don't want his name." "You--okay. Sure, we can understand that. Is there a name you would prefer to put on the paperwork?" Rey, who would have gone by Skywalker in honor of Luke but can't do that when Anakin is right there and all: "Can I think about it?"
Rey: I don't know what I want my last name to be but I know I don't want his, and most of the people I’d want a name from have famous families like you... Luke's ghost, pointing out the Literal Nobody that she cares about a lot: How about Solo? Rey: ...Solo, then.
(A few months later she runs into Poe again and he offers for Finn and Rey to both take his name because honestly they need SOMETHING but at that point she’s already decided on Smuggler Dad.)
Backtrack a bit. We’ve got a bigger cast.
They all arrive separately. Poe, for one, does better than Rey, who is aiming for a murder, but not quite as well as Finn, who is currently being adopted and hidden like a secret cat by a bunch of Alpha Clones on Kamino. He vibes with the names-or-numbers thing. He doesn’t necessarily tell them where and when he’s from, but he’s very sweet and a great liar and they adopt him wholesale anyway.
The Finn situation is just... "Buir Ti, we need you to hide this man, we've decided he's our little brother but if Nala Se finds out she'll make him leave."
Of course, this leads into Shaak Ti teaching Finn how to Jedi.
Maybe consider Finn needing to almost be tricked into learning Jedi things because he willfully forgets it could apply to him. Finn does not like to think of himself as special, which is super valid, but frustrating for Shaak Ti when it comes to, you know, getting him to acquire knowledge. Finn's training at some point is "here, levitate objects with the Force to entertain the tubies." It’s a lot easier to convince him to practice when it involves the babies.
(Everyone on Kamino looked at Finn and went “oh I love him I’m keeping him and teaching him things.”)
(He’s just very lovable.)
Poe, meanwhile, buys the trust of Anakin Skywalker via R2D2 declaring BB-8 the absolute most baby of droids. R2D2 met BB-8 three hours ago but.
"Hey Obi-Wan this is Poe I met him like five days ago but R2D2 says he checks out because his droid is a baby." "That's nice, Anakin, did you know the Chancellor has a daughter who tried to assassinate him in broad daylight yesterday? Because guess who had to stop the Chancellor from getting assassinated by his daughter in broad daylight yesterday."
A summary so far:
Finn, on Kamino: Hey, um, I don't know where this is, but it's not where I was a few minutes ago. Do you think you could get me a comm? What's your name? Poe, on [dice roll] Denon: Oh, hey, you're General Skywalker? Nice to meet you, I'm so sorry about my droid, she's a little excitable and thought your R2 unit looked like a friend of hers-- Rey, on Coruscant: DIE, GRANDFATHER
Finn: [Peacefully vibing on Kamino, unaware of the chaos and bonding with the clones] Poe: [Trying to explain how he knows someone who tried to kill the chancellor and defend Rey] Rey: [Arrested for trying to kill the chancellor]
Just... just...
Anakin: Some guy ended up lost on base yesterday with his droid, how’s your day going? Obi-Wan: I had to stop someone who claims to be the chancellors daughter from murdering the chancellor after she seemingly blinked into existence in the Senate building. Poe: 😐
(Poe: Oh, so that's where Chaos^2 went.)
Poe: In her defense, she is his... well we don't know if she's his daughter or granddaughter, but she's definitely related to him, and she definitely grew up in a shitty situation that was his fault, so...
(Poe is trying very hard to explain this and not get arrested on the military base.)
As you’ve probably guessed, what's especially funny about all of this for me is the fact that Palpatine is fully aware that this girl shouldn't exist, but can't find a single piece of evidence about where she came from. He didn't start any experiments that could result in a female child, and he didn't have sex in that period of time, so where the hell--
Rey spends so much time in jail... BUT they do eventually assign her a Jedi Master. Possibly before she actually proves her evil grandfather is in fact evil. Most votes went to either Plo Koon or Obi-Wan. Plo, because he’s dad-shaped, and Obi...
"Obi-Wan, you already raised one feral desert child with implausible amounts of power, you handle this." Rey in return is very "Sweet, you vaguely remind me of Master Luke," and nobody knows who the hell she's talking about. Obi-Wan is NOT on board with this plan, she'd really be better off with Plo or like........ Mace.
Reunion Tour
What I need out of this is the eventual Finn and Rey reunion scene that is just excited screaming while someone in the background explains to Shaak Ti that yes this is apparently Palpatine's terrifyingly force-sensitive daughter who hates him.
(Finn senses Rey’s approach and just. Gathers the everyone to wait. He’s just :D REY MY FRIEND REY GUYS MY FRIEND REY IS COMING.)
Anakin shows up with Poe--just a guy who signed on to the military, no big deal--and then Poe and Rey are EXCITED and everyone's just like "Cool, how do you know this literal terrorist child?" And Poe has to scramble and "Uhhhhhhhhhhhh she saved my droid from a scrapheap once and BB-8 is basically my child so I owe her one."
Rey knows that Anakin ends up evil so she’s maybe not actively hostile but definitely very “I’m watching you.” That said, she vibes with him on a lot of things that he maybe doesn’t actively notice.
Rey picks up a snake, snaps off the head for venom avoidance, and starts biting off chunks. Obi-Wan's reaction: [undisguised horror] Anakin and Ahsoka: Ooh, where'd you find that? (Obi-Wan: And now I’m up to three feral children.)
What Does Palpatine Even Do?
OBVIOUSLY at a certain point, Palpatine is just phoning up every ally he has to figure out who broke protocol to synthesize a daughter for him.
So of course, Palpatine blame Plagueis.
She'd have been born five or so years before Naboo, just a few years younger than Anakin. It's such an EASY theory to build a conspiracy around. It is ENTIRELY WRONG, but it’s plausible! And anyone who might have been involved to say otherwise is probably dead!
A random bio-kid shows up you can’t possibly have contributed genes to? Maybe it’s the evil bio spark that did it.
Palpatine tries to placate her with the ‘my genes were stolen for an experiment and I didn’t know’ thing. It doesn’t work because her actual main complaint is he’s evil in her future but he tries.
It'd be a struggle to even get access to her, because of the aforementioned “maybe don’t try to talk to the daughter(?) that hates you” thing, but you know who Palpatine does have access to? The Chosen One.
Rey kind of decides on her favorites early on (she gravitates to Dad Energy and Sad Old Men so Plo and Obi-Wan are on her list, and that means decent time around Anakin and Ahsoka). It's really easy to talk Anakin into helping to some degree because "he'd like to connect to a daughter he never knew" and "a child of her power on a planet like that, you'd know her struggle, my dear boy" and so on. Anakin tries to connect! He tries to play up Sheev’s kind political work and how it can’t have really been his fault! It doesn’t work. Rey does not believe a word of it. Mostly she doesn’t even seem to hear him.
Rey's just like "...oh right, you're the melted mask that Kylo Ren was always ranting about," which means absolutely NOTHING to Anakin, but he mentions it to Palps, who loses his goddamn mind trying to figure out what she's talking about, because it also means absolutely nothing to him.
Here’s the thing: Rey’s already decided that Obi-Wan is cool, because Luke said so, and Plo Koon is dad-shaped, and she also gravitates towards earnest kindness in general, like she made friends with Finn real quick, so Ahsoka? Already getting along great.
She doesn’t dislike Anakin, really, he isn’t evil yet, he’s just... meh. She’s a little suspicious and she likes him less than the others but... Anakin.
Rey, to Anakin: You are my least favorite. Anakin, to Palpatine: YOUR DAUGHTER HATES ME???
And he goes from “she’s a lil standoffish” to “she doesn’t like me” to “she hates me” as is normal for Anakin.
It’s just an escalation of this one time Palpatine wants Anakin to not have rifts and trust issues with a person, at least not until later, because he needs information.
Meanwhile, that very moment, Rey is just like "huh, nobody here is listening to me about how make a sixth-hand carburetor work, where's Luke's dad?"
Anakin is venting to Palpatine about how hard it is to talk to Rey, and she's over in the Temple just like "Hey, that guy was useful last time, I should ask him," but also she only ever thinks of him as Luke's Dad.
(At one point, Obi-Wan is having a bit of a break down, and then Anakin starts having a breakdown about that, meanwhile the clones are (badly) trying to hide Finn behind their backs, Rey is watching Ahsoka practice and being like "I want two lightsabers," and Poe is trying to keep R2 from stealing BB-8 and Force Ghost Luke is just face palming in the background.)
(Rey deserved a saber staff, maybe one that can detach and turn into a jar’kai set. Possibly a pike. Mostly I just wish she got more chances to whack things with a big stick.)
