hi i have a bit of an odd question and im so sorry if it comes off as rude at all!
ive seen a lot of your posts about canes, i have hEDS and chronic pain and im trying to convice my mom and my doctor to let me have a mobility aid. my mom is very adamant that i dont need a cane because i dont have balance issues, but my knees and ankles are pretty much always aching. i was just wondering if you think a cane would help with chronic pain or if i should look into other aids?
Canes can help chronic pain, they are not guaranteed to help you specifically
You can get a cane for ~$30 at most stores and try it out
A physical therapist and/or a specialist in rheum will most likely know more than your PCP about your specific pain and situation
Parents often don't want to admit their kids have health problems
I wish you luck
I won't be answering any more asks about mobility aids.
This is nothing about you specifically, you were not rude, I just get a lot of questions like this in my inbox. It becomes draining to get so many asks with people's personal vents about their medical issues or religious trauma or the homophobic situations they're living in.
While I would love if I could help people, I am not a doctor. I am not a therapist, I am not a social worker. I'm just a random artist on the internet who has EDS and is barely getting by myself.
I prefer to keep my blog about my art and about my work, not about my disability. It is relevant to my work, of course, and discussing my conditions in vague terms in how they relate to themes present in my work is more than okay, but I prefer this space to be dedicated to my work and getting to engage with my readers through my stories.
Personal information about my pain, my medications, my tests my doctors and my trauma are not things I want to make public.
Thank you for understanding.

➳ Masterlist
•─────⋅☾ ☽⋅─────•
Leah sat there, stunned by the weight of her sister's words. She had always known that things weren't easy for you, but she never imagined the extent of the struggles you faced. The guilt of not being there for her little sister when she needed her the most washed over the footballer like a tidal wave.
"I'm so sorry, Bug," Leah whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "I had no idea you were going through all of this alone."
You shrugged, trying to downplay the situation, ignoring the shame that showed in the redness of your face. "It's okay, Lee. I didn't want to burden you with my problems."
Leah shook her head, tears still streaming down her cheeks. "No, it's not okay. I should have been there for you. I should have noticed. I'm supposed to be your big sister, for God's sake."
You reached out and took Leah's hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "You're here now, that's what matters."
Leah sniffled, trying to compose herself. "I promise, things are going to change. I'll talk to Mom and Dad, and we'll figure this out together."
You managed a small smile, feeling a glimmer of hope for the first time in a long while. "Thanks, Lee. "I appreciate it."
Leah pulled you into a tight hug, holding onto you as if she never wanted to let go. "I love you, Bug. I'll always be here for you, no matter what."
And in that moment, as the rain continued to fall outside, you knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, you wouldn't have to face them alone. With Leah by your side, you felt stronger than ever before. And together, you were ready to take on whatever life threw your way.
When she was back in London and your parents were home again,  Leah couldn't shake the feeling of responsibility that weighed heavily on her shoulders. She knew she couldn't let her sister continue to struggle alone, not when she finally understood the depth of your pain. After numerous conversations with her parents, Leah made a decision.
"Bug, I want you to come live with me in London," Leah said one evening when you were staying with her after watching an Arsenal game, her voice filled with determination.
You blinked in surprise, not expecting such a sudden idea. "But what about Mom and Dad? Won't they be worried?"
Leah shook her head. "They understand, they want what's best for you, and right now, that means being with someone who can support you fully."
A mixture of emotions washed over you, uncertainty mingled with relief. The thought of leaving your childhood home was daunting, but the prospect of starting fresh in a new environment with your sister by your side was undeniably appealing.
"I don't know, Leah. What about your life here? Your career?" you asked, concerned about uprooting your sister's life for your sake.
Leah smiled reassuringly. "My career doesn’t need to stop. You're my family, and family comes first. Plus, I could use some company in this big old house of mine."
Unbeknownst to you, she actually wasn’t all that alone in her house, a certain brunette spent most of her time there as well.
Tears welled up in your eyes as you realized the depth of Leah's love and sacrifice for you. "Thank you, Leah. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Leah pulled you into a warm embrace, holding you close. "You'll never have to find out, Bug. We're in this together."
And so, with the support of your parents and the unwavering love of your sister, you packed your bags and prepared to embark on a new chapter in London. As you looked out the window of the car, watching the familiar scenery of your hometown fade into the distance, you felt a sense of excitement and anticipation for the adventures that lay ahead with your sister by your side.
Things were finally looking up.
Leah steered her car through the familiar streets of London, eventually turning onto a quieter road lined with rows of cozy houses. The neighborhood exuded a sense of tranquility, a stark contrast to the bustling city center. As Leah parked the car in the driveway of her quaint home, you couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over you.
Stepping out of the car, you stretched your limbs and took in the familiar surroundings. Leah's house, though not extravagant, emanated a sense of warmth and comfort that immediately put you at ease. The exterior was adorned with climbing ivy and cheerful flower beds, adding a touch of charm to the neighborhood.
With your bags in hand, you followed Leah up the front steps and through the front door. The air inside was filled with the comforting scent of your sister and well-loved furniture that you remember from her old room. The living room greeted you with plush couches arranged around a cozy fireplace, inviting you to sink into their embrace.
It’s surprisingly tidy here, but you could make out two empty cups on the coffee table, an arsenal sweatshirt with a 13 on it, and so many sneakers by the door, that they couldn’t just be Leah’s.
"Here we are," Leah said, turning to you with a smile. "Home sweet home."
You returned her smile, feeling a sense of gratitude for the familiar surroundings. "It's perfect, Leah. Thank you for inviting me."
Leah's smile widened as she led you through the house, showing you to your temporary room. The space was simple but inviting, with a comfortable bed and a large window overlooking the lush backyard. Of course, a little goal was set up. Was this even Leah’s home if there was no goal?
The first day with Leah was a whirlwind of emotions and new experiences. As you woke up in her cozy home, sunlight filtering through the curtains, you couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the warmth and comfort of your surroundings. This felt more like home than the place you had grown up in.
Downstairs, Leah greeted you with a warm smile and a hearty breakfast (the only thing she was confidently able to make), eager to show you around her neighborhood and introduce you to her favorite spots. Together, you explored the quaint streets, stopping to chat with neighbors and browse through local shops before getting a snack in a quaint little café.
With a “Lia always takes the croissant, they’re good.”, you had been convinced easily enough. And the Swiss was correct, the croissants were indeed very good.
Throughout the day, Leah made sure you felt right at home, regaling you with stories from her own adventures in the city and sharing her favorite memories of growing up together. With each passing hour, you felt more and more at ease in your sister’s company, grateful for her unwavering support and understanding.
As the day drew to a close, you found yourself curled up on the couch with Leah, sipping hot tea and sharing laughs over stories of her teammates. In that moment, surrounded by the warmth and love of your sister, you knew that you were exactly where you were meant to be.
But it would not be life if things didn't get worse again.
As the days turned into weeks, you found yourself slipping deeper into the shadows of your own mind. Despite Leah's best efforts to create a loving and supportive environment, the wounds from your past continued to fester, leaving you feeling lost and alone.
Trauma and abandonment issues weighed heavily on your soul, casting a dark shadow over even the brightest moments you shared with your sister. The memories of being ostracized and bullied at school haunted you, triggering waves of anxiety and self-doubt that seemed impossible to overcome.
Leah watched with a heavy heart as you retreated further into yourself, the light in your eyes dimming with each passing day. She tried to offer words of comfort and encouragement, but they seemed to fall on deaf ears, lost in the endless void of your pain.
It hurts to see you suffer, not knowing how to help. So she chose to confront you after talking to Lia in depth about it, not knowing what to do. She ended up seeking a conversation on how to change things, on how to help you. Together, you found a therapist who specializes in childhood trauma and abandonment issues, hoping that they could provide you with the support and guidance you so desperately needed.
As you began your journey towards healing, your sister remained by your side every step of the way, offering a steady hand to hold onto in the darkest of times. Slowly but surely, you started to unravel the tangled web of emotions that had ensnared your heart, finding solace in the love and support of your family.
When the new school year started you were deemed well enough to start at the new school. Leah had asked if you wanted to do online school instead, but both your therapist and you didn’t think that to be a good idea.
The transition to a new school was daunting and filled with uncertainty and anxiety. You couldn't shake the memories of past experiences, the taunts and jeers of classmates echoing in your mind like a cruel refrain. But as you stepped into the halls of your new school, you were met with a surprising kindness that took you off guard.
The kids here were different. They didn't make fun of you or hurl insults your way. Instead, they greeted you with smiles and open arms, eager to welcome you into their midst. It was a stark contrast to the hostile environment you had grown accustomed to, and it filled you with a sense of relief and gratitude.
As time went by, you found yourself slowly but surely coming out of your shell, emboldened by the kindness and acceptance of your peers. You made new friends, shared laughs, and discovered a sense of belonging that you had never known before.
Leah watched with pride as you flourished in your new environment, her heart swelling with joy at the sight of your radiant smile. She knew that the road ahead would still be challenging, filled with ups and downs, but she also knew that you were strong enough to face whatever came your way.
When one day you came home telling her all about two new girls you met, she was so ecstatic that she couldn’t help but cry about it to the Swiss brunette who had a permanent spot at your dinner table. The blonde had refrained from taking you to training as of now, leaving you space to breathe and be alone. With that you couldn’t just call Kyra and Alessia your friends and call it a day, you needed your own.
After spending weeks bonding with Charlie and Mia, you couldn't wait to introduce them to your sister Leah. One afternoon, you invited them over to Leah's house for a casual hangout, eager to share your newfound friendships with her.
As Charlie and Mia arrived at Leah's doorstep, you greeted them with a smile and led them inside. Leah welcomed them warmly, offering snacks (that you had made) and drinks as the four of you settled into the cozy living room. They wanted to get to know the sister you couldn’t shut up about.
You watched nervously as Charlie and Mia chatted with Leah, hoping that they would hit it off. To your relief, the conversation flowed easily, with laughter filling the room as they exchanged stories and shared jokes.
"So, how did you two meet?" your sister asked, her eyes flickering between them.
Charlie, a vibrant and outgoing girl, grinned and began the story. "Well, Mia and I actually met in our science class. We were paired up for a project, and the rest is history."
Mia nodded, chiming in, "Yeah, Charlie swooped in to save the day when I accidentally mixed up my chemicals. She's been my lab partner and best friend ever since."
Leah chuckled, nodding in understanding. "It sounds like you two make a great team."
You couldn't help but jump in, eager to share your own thoughts. "They really do. Charlie and Mia have been amazing friends to me since I started at this new school."
Leah's eyes softened as she turned her attention to you. "That's wonderful to hear, Bug. I'm so glad you've found some great friends."
You nodded, feeling a surge of gratitude for your sister's support, and thanks to your therapy, you were not afraid to tell them. "Yeah, they've been really supportive. And it's nice to have them here with you."
Leah smiled, her gaze shifting between the three of you. "Well, you're all welcome here anytime. It's nice to see you so happy, Bug."
A couple of days later Leah came home from training to you making dinner in the kitchen. Instead of sitting down or waiting she stood in the doorway joking about your apron. Conversation in the middle of doing something was always the best.
As the conversation flowed effortlessly among you, Leah's eyes sparkled with an idea. "You know, Bug, my teammates have been asking about you. They've heard so much about my little sister and they're dying to meet you."
Your heart skipped a beat at Leah's suggestion. Meeting Leah's teammates felt like a significant step, a symbol of how far you'd come since arriving in London. The thought both excited and intimidated you.
Leah must have noticed the mix of emotions flickering across your face because she quickly added, "But only if you're comfortable with it. I don't want to pressure you into anything."
She knew that you had talked to most of them before. But it had always been brief and at the side of the pitch, signing a shirt for you and taking a picture. Aside from Lia, who had been at the house just the evening prior.
You took a moment to consider Leah's offer, the warmth of her support comforting you. With a newfound sense of confidence, you nodded eagerly. "I'd love to meet them, Leah. It sounds like fun."
Leah's smile widened, and she reached out to squeeze your hand. "Great! I'll arrange a get-together with the team. I know they'll love you just as much as I do."
Meeting her teammates felt like the next natural step in your journey of growth and self-discovery, and you were ready to embrace it with open arms.

okay but like protective charles over his family who are with him during a big gp like monza or something where everyone is always swarming him trying to get his attention and him just going into protective dad/husband mode🫠
btw everything you’ve written is amazing! i’m loving your blog sm 🫶🏻
Note: thank you for your feedback, I'm happy you enjoy it ✨️
"Hold mama's hands and don't let go, okay?", you checked with Hervé and Amélie, making sure they understood. Every weekend had its own rush and fans who wanted to meet your husband, and usually it was manageable with the kids. Monza, however, couldn't fall into that category. The fans and the whole atmosphere made it an even bigger event, tradition making it a weekend you rarely missed, and once the kids were old enough, they also joined you.
Walking out of the hotel, Charles walked in front of you, greeting all of the fans that had been waiting for him. "Charles! I'm here, I'm here!", they would yell, along with chants of "Forza Ferrari" and such.
The minute people started approaching you and the kids, the situation changed its look. Everyone wanted to have a little interaction with Charles, a picture, an autograph, or to give him something, not noticing you and the kids were getting swarmed in the sea of people until Hervé yelped.
"Sorry, buddy", an older man said, trying to make room for you and your children as you tried to move away from the group of people. Charles was quick to notice how you were in the middle of it all and how some fans were not letting you walk away from the group, almost trapping you and the kids.
"Everyone, I'm sorry", Charles tried, "EVERYONE BACK AWAY FOR A BIT PLEASE!", he yelled, catching the ones closest to him by surprise as he looked for you and the kids, holding Amélie's hand on his own so you could pick Hervé up and Charles could pick Amélie up.
"It's okay, amour, papa is here, there's no reason to fear, okay?", he checked with her, kissing het cheek and seeing some of the Ferrari team members also leave the hotel and calling for them, "can you help them out of here, please?", he asked as he kissed Hervé's cheek too, "are you going you be okay with them?", Charles ensured you were good, "yes - thanks for your help- yes, we will be fine", you assured.
"That was a little scary, papa. Mama wanted to get away but people weren't letting her, and I tried to push to one side, but we weren't able to go because only a few people were giving us space", your son pouted, looking up at Charles as you sat them in one of the benches, "I know, but that won't happen again, okay? I'm sorry", he said to the three of you, looking back at the group of fans that seemed to be getting antsier.
"Go, love, we are going to be fine. Just, be careful out there, okay? I don't want anyone trying to rip a hair out of you", you chuckled, kissing his lips and soothing some of his worries.
As Charles approached the group of fans again, contained by the police who had enforced security, "that wasn't okay, guys. I will happily sign and take pictures for all the time that I can, but when someone asks you to excuse them and let them walk, you have to let them do it. It doesn't matter who they are, my family or not, they're still people and they deserve that respect", he said, almost like he was lecturing your kids back at home.
(Thank you for your submission ✨️)

I feel like hurting people so let's talk about Redacted characters fatal flaws.
David - Obligation
I was originally going to say David's flaw was loyalty but I thought that was too surface level so I dug a little deeper and found something a bit more important. David carries a heavy weight of obligation on his shoulders. He runs the pack and the security company because it's what his dad would've wanted, he works to keep the pack going because people depend on him, he only met Angel cause Caelum made him. Everything in his life is because of feels obligated to keep said things going. He didn't want to be in this situation, he doesn't want to have to work as hard as he does but he knows he has to in order to maintain everything his father left him. David takes on so much because he thinks he has to and that kind of weight will crush him eventually. He's pulling himself in so many directions, something has to give. To put it in his own words, one of these times when he throws himself at the wall it won't be the thing that breaks.
Asher - Optimism
Asher, you sweet sweet bean, your joy will be the thing that destroys you. Asher has the Polites problem (see, I know Greek characters) in where his optimism is the thing that drives the group into a far more dangerous situation. Asher's hopeful belief that they could get through the Inversion almost got him killed. He is the sunshine character, he's the one that everyone expects to be happy, he holds the morale of the pack on his shoulders and that kind of pressure would be enough to make anyone crack. How long will it be until the happy-go-lucky attitude snaps under the weight?
Milo - Dedication
It's easy to say Milo is loyal to a fault. It's hard to say he has a gravely misplaced sense of dedication. Milo feels he has something to prove, he always has. Prove to himself and the rest of the pack that he's useful, he has a place, he has a purpose in this pack. Milo has dedicated his life to proving his worth and that dedication to a harmful cause will be the thing that kills him. Hell, it already almost did. If another event like the Inversion happens, he might not make it out.
Sam - Independence
Sam is an interesting case because his need to be independent won't kill him physically as much as it will mentally. He has worked so hard to make sure other people's actions don't define him that he instinctively isolates himself. He keeps everyone at arm's length so that if and when they do something that hurts the people around them, he won't be caught in the blast radius. But that changes when he meets Darlin, someone who also keeps people at arm's length and doesn't let anyone get close. There's an argument to be made in how Sam seems himself in Darlin and that's why he felt so inclined to help them (beyond just hating Quinn) but not the point I'm making. Sam runs from problems before they can affect him and when the pack dies, he'll be stuck in a problem he can't run from. Sam may not die after the pack is gone but he will fade into the background. Sam will be lost in time, clinging to memories of a time that he let people in as those too eventually fade into the aether of history.
Vincent - Naivety
I heavily considered giving Vincent independence as his fatal flaw too cause it very well could be but we don't do doubles in this house and there is a far more deadly flaw in him and that's his naivety. Vincent is blind to his situation, he doesn't understand most of it because he's been shielded from it. He lacks understanding of what it really means to be a vampire, let alone one in such a well known house. And it's in that where we see his mistake with Lovely. Vincent turned Lovely without fully understanding his own place and therefore doesn't understand the responsibilities he's putting onto Lovely by bringing them into it. It's the blind leading the blind. This lack of real understanding I think will be what tears him apart.
Porter - Peace
Now, this one is hard to explain. How is peace a fatal flaw? Rather simply, actually. You find peace in a situation that you choose not to change. Porter is William's guard dog because he doesn't feel like he deserves to be anything more. He does as asked because he thinks it's all he good for. He had made his peace with the fact that he believes he's not worth anything more than the blood he can spill. Which is wrong and flawed. And it's in that peace in the situation he doesn't believe he deserves to change that will get him killed. If he doesn't convince himself he's worth more than this, it'll be the thing that does him in.
Gavin - Humanity
Gavin's sense of humanity may not necessarily kill him but it will cause an untold amount of pain. Gavin has distanced himself so far from the world of demons in order to choose his own path and be who he is that he's forgotten this world isn't his. Elegy owes him nothing and it'll give him as much. It's the immortal lover problem, he will survive long after Freelancer and the others are gone and it will break him. I've mentioned before that Gavin and Porter are two sides of the same character but what's interesting is how their stories seem to be going in opposite directions until they eventually switch places. When Gavin loses the people that give him a sense of humanity, he will fall to what he believes he has to be in order to survive while Porter is learning that he can be more than what's expected of him and will hold that sense of pride I believe long after Treasure is gone.
Escaped, you're next. Prepare.

7 Sins Legacy - generation 4 (pride)
While Rohan made an attempt to stop Supriya from walking away, Supriya barely noticed that the musicians had cleared the floor for Suraj, who had taken his place behind the microphone: "Dear friends and colleagues, I would like to make an official public announcement tonight..."
Tumblr media
Rohan: I don't get it. You've done more for our campaign in the past weeks than everyone else combined. And we are so close to winning the city's elections, why would you suddenly want to leave?
Tumblr media
Supriya: Oh you really want to know? Imagine what will happen to the party when I quit- With all the publicity I've had, it'll be on the front page of the newspapers, and journalists will be lining up because they want to know why. And I'll tell them exactly why they're better off voting for someone other than... you.
Tumblr media
Rohan: This job interview is for another political party, isn't it? Tell me, do you actually want to work there? Or is it because you think that you can't get to where you actually want to be in this party, so you've built your walls so high that you've completely closed yourself off from everything that has to do with it. And the only option you think you have left is to run away. Because if so, I hate to break it to you, but you probably won't make yourself happy with that decision.
Tumblr media
"...I assume many of you already heard speculations, so it probably won't come as a surprise that the rumors are true. I want you all to know that I've decided to officially retire...."
Tumblr media
Supriya: Oh! That's rich coming from someone who has it easy with his influential dad arranging everything for him! And you don't know what is best for me-
Tumblr media
Rohan: Please, listen to me. It doesn't mean that I don't agree with you- Everyone deserves an equal chance, but you also have to know that there is a big chance that you'll encounter similar kind of situations somewhere else. Especially in this political world.
Tumblr media
Supriya: What do you want then?! Do you want me to stay so I can congratulate you when your dad announces that you will get the position? Because I'm NOT going to do that- Besides, if you agree that everyone deserves an equal chance, WHY HAVEN'T YOU DONE SOMETHING ABOUT IT?!
Tumblr media
" ...and that is why I, along with all our colleagues in the party, have unanimously decided to give the position as party leader to Supriya."
Suraj turned towards Supriya. "If you want it of course. So, what do you say?"
Tumblr media
Supriya couldn't believe if she had heard it right and had to take a second while everyone slowly turned their heads towards her. "...Y- yes, yes of course!"
Suraj smiled and gave her a nod before turning his attention back to the public. "Very well, I suggest we leave the technicalities for the transfer until Monday and spend the rest of the night enjoying this gala that my lovely wife helped organizing."
Tumblr media
Supriya: Did you- I... I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! Rohan: Congratiulations, you deserve it. Supriya: It's- This is amazing... That you did this!!! Oh, you've no idea what this means to me, I could kiss you right now! I-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
.... Rohan: ...So why don't you?
Tumblr media
For the first time, the feeling that had been slowly creeping up on Supriya since she met Rohan, and that she had been trying to ignore and push away ever since she found out that Rohan was Suraj's son, slipped through the walls she had so carefully built.
Tumblr media
Rohan: ....Since I don't think you have to get up early tomorrow morning anymore, what do you say if we, when this gala is over, get some takeout from that new Mexican place near your apartment to celebrate? Supriya: Hm, I'd love that.

FINALLY BACK TO WORKING ON THIS SERIES!
Tumblr media
BARRIER PT:4
♡~~♡~~♡~~♡~~♡
Pt: 1 Pt: 3 Pt: 5
Summary: Raph reveals himself to you after you call him for help because of your fathers harrassment.
Warnings: Smoking, swearing, toxic family members.
Requested:
GN Reader!
.........................................
You stared at your phone screen while biting your lip. You had been sitting in this cafè for god knows how long, and you just wanted to go home.
Your dad had been calling you non-stop, spamming you with angry messages, and you didn't know what to do.
You were debating calling Raph for help, but you didn't want to be a bother or accidentaly cross any boundary.
You took a shaky breath, and before you could think twice, dial his phone number.
With your knee bouncing nervously you waited to see if he'd answer.
And he did.
"(Name)? Is everything ok?"
You sighed in relief, "H-hey Raph. I'm sorry to bother you but- but I need some help, it's- I'm kinda scared.."
You heard someone else on the other end of the phone, then some muffled talking, Raph spoke again, "What happened? Are you ok? Are you hurt?"
"N-no, I'm not hurt. But my- my dad, he showed up at my job today- I don't know what to do. I'm scared he'll follow me home-"
"Where are you?"
"Uh- Let me- let me ask..."
You asked the kind waitress, and relayed your location to Raph, he told you to wait for him out back, and not to hang up the phone.
He talked with you the whole time, making sure to keep you as distracted as possible. He suddenly stopped talking, and you could feel his tension growing.
"Raph? Is everything ok?"
"Listen, (Name), I'm here. But, uh- I need you to promise not to freak out ok? I'm uh- not exactly easy on the eyes.."
"What do you..? Raph I'm not gonna freak out, you're my friend..."
You heard him huff, and the beep of him hanging up. You looked around confused, trying to spot anyone nearby, "Raph? Are you there?"
"Uh- yeah, I'm uhm, I'm here."
You turned around to face him, finally happy to put a face to a name. You examined his figure, his green skin, his scales, his beautiful green eyes, but must of all, the nervous way he stood.
He was scared.
Scared of how you were going to react.
You smiled at him, "Hey there, Karate Kid."
Raph noticably loosened his posture at your words, and he shook his head, "Hey there, Smartass. You ok?"
Your smile faded and the gravity of your situation landed on you once again, "I'm fine." you mumbled, "I just wanna go home."
Before he could say anything else, your phone buzzed in your hand, you looked down at the the string of messages and abuse from your father, the tears begining to well up again as you turned off your phone.
"Can you please take me home?" you asked, your voice cracking.
"Sure thing. Hey- can I uh, can I pick ya up? It'll just be faster that way."
You nodded, wrapping your arms around his neck as Raph picked you up bridal style.
"Hang on, Shorty."
The trip to your building was rather short, with Raph talking to distract you the entire time. When you arrived on the rooftop, you immediatly sat down in your place by the brick wall, patting the ground next to you, "You gonna sit with me? I mean unless you need to go, I did kinda call you out of nowhere..." you chuckled nervously.
Raph shook his head, slowly taking his place next to you, "Nah, I can stay. Fearless won't miss me for a while."
You nodded, pulling a cigarette from the packet in your pocket, "Thank you, by the way. I really do appreciate it. You coming to get me?"
Raph nudged your shoulder with his own, "No problem, smartass, I couldn't just leave ya there. I guess I should say thanks too, for not freakin' out over, well, this." he gestured vaguely to himself and you scrunched up your nose.
"Ok, first of all, I promised not to freak out. Second of all, there was no reason for said promise, because there's nothing to freak out about. You're a little different, so what? Anyone who cares enough about that to "freak out" is stupid as fuck." you puffed your cigarette, taking care to blow the second hand smoke away from Raph.
Raph looked at you curiously, a small smile gracing his rough features, "You're weird." he said, leaning back against the wall.
You smacked his arm, "And you're a jerk."
Raph snickered to himself while you rubbed your knuckles, how the hell did that hurt you more than him.
"What are you gonna do about your old man?" he asked, leaning an elbow onto his knee.
You shook your head with a sigh, taking another drag of your cigarette, "I have no idea. I need to find a new job though. I, uh, I quite my current one today. It was kinda an in the moment thing."
Raph gritted his teeth, how dare your father, someone who was supposed to care for and protect you, cause you this many issues? You, who was so kind to him, even after he showed you who he really was. What he really was? If he ever got ahold of your old man, he was gonna-
"Raph? You good man?"
"Huh? Yeah, yeah I'm fine. listen, (Name), it's no place of mine to tell you how to deal with your dad, but I thinks it's best if you cut 'im off. He crossed way over the line today, and honestly, I don't think he's gonna quit."
You rubbed your temple, nodding, "I think you're right, Red. But this time I'm gonna make sure he stays the fuck away." you stood, putting out your cigarette on the brick, "Listen, I'm gonna go get something to eat. But I'll call you later, yeah?"
Raph nodded, standing next to you, and it just registered how fucking tall he was, he was tall, "Yeah, call me whenever you want. No matter the time, got it Shorty?"
You smiled, "Sure thing, Red."
With that, you patted him on the arm, and made your way down the fire escape and into your apartment.
<RAPH'S POV>
♡~~♡~~♡~~♡~~♡
I watched 'em go with a frown, honestly, I was worried for 'em. Their dad had no buisness showin' up at their job, and now they needed a new one.
My mind drifted off to how they reacted to, well, me. I was not expecting that at all.
I was expected a scream, maybe for 'em to faint or something, anything but that cute ass smile.
Anything but that fucking smile.
I made my way home, (Name) filling my mind at every moment. I walked into the Lair, ready for the questions from Leo. I knew he was gonna be pissy, I just up and left during one of his little lectures afterall.
"There you are. Where the hell did you go, Raph?"
I looked over at Leo while I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge, "None of your buisness, Fearless."
Leo sighed, "No, Raph, it is my buisness when you get a mysterious phone call, and just up and leave during a team meeting, without any kind of explaination as to where you're going."
"Like I said, none of your buisness what I'm doin' or who I'm talkin' to."
Leo huffed, storming out of the kitchen a d into Donnie's lab, no idea why, usually he goes to the dojo or his room to meditate after a spat.
Whatever, wasn't my issue. My issue, was figurin' out how the hell to help (Name)...
.........................................
Hmmm.... wonder what Leo and Donnie are talking about..??

Self-Image: How comfortable is the Timekeeper in her own skin?
This is purely speculative and more of a list of questions to consider. Food for thought!
Considerations
Scars
How does she feel about the scars on her back? (And scars in general cause I'm sure she has them but they aren't mentioned canonically unless they magicked them away with arcanum antics)
Is she self-conscious about her scars on her back or is it because she doesn't want to make feel people feel uncomfortable?
Is it one of the reasons she always wears long pants and long sleeves, or is that just a fashion choice?
Causal Nudity
This one seems silly but if you've lived with or stayed with other people, things happen. Someone walks into your room without knocking. You forgot to bring your towel. Your working on something and your clothes ride up, get torn, etc.
There are some people who could confidently strut around naked as the day they were born and others who lay awake at tonight 3 years later and get embarrassed by the memory of being walked in on. The there are also people who are apathetic to the whole thing and don't see to care. They won't leave the room undressed but they don't mind if someone walks in on them either.
I'll be honest, I can't see her in the first one and Sweetheart is probably a better example. For those who don't know her, these are some of her lines:
"Hmm... hah... a silk robe? Thank you, but I don't want it. Dress me up with Chanel No.5 (perfume). Only that is my nightwear." (Vertin trying to make her stop sleeping nude. It didn’t work.)
Now, you could say this is Vertin being uncomfortable with other people's nudity but it could also be her playing the part of Suitcase Dad and making sure the little ones (or anyone for that matter) aren't exposed to things they didn't sign up for. However, my question is more about Vertin herself. This exmaple is just to paint a picture.
In the second instance, Vertin would be very self-conscious. Is it shame/fear, and if so why (side-eyeing the Foundation rn)? Or perhaps she doesn't want to talk about the scars on her back/body? Maybe it has nothing to do with her but the way people react. She doesn't want to make people feel uncomfortable.
Or maybe she's just shy about stuff like that and and for once has nothing to do with her trauma 🥹
In the final case, Vertin doesn’t really care. Maybe it's because she grew up in a dormitory where it's common to change in front of other kids. Or she could be used to the medical exams and tests from the Foundation who didn't care about her privacy.
It could be a newer development. For example, Regulus barges in without knocking all the time. The kids scamper in on their own (the Twins, Erik, etc) The ghosts phase in and out of her room. She got used to it.
That being said, the person she's interacting with also plays a part. Levels of comfort are influenced by the other person in the situation. She might not flinch if it's one of the kids coming to her crying about a broken toy or what not. On the other hand, Tennant will be escorted out immediately by Sonetto and Dikke. I'm exaggerating of course, but I think it helps me explain what I'm trying to say. Nothing is all conclusive.
The Self
Unlike the others, this leans harder on perception. Who does Vertin see when she looks in the mirror? Is it someone she's proud of or someone she can't face? These things can warp your self-image and influence many things.
Self love, Self worth, and the extent to what you believe you "deserve". For example Do you deserve to be "loved"? If you don't believe that it might be hard to believe other people could love you either. Maybe you feel like you deserve suffering because you don't value your own worth.
(For anyone needing to hear this, everyone deserves happiness).
I'm curious to know other people's thoughts on this. Feel free to mention things I missed!
On a scale of 1 to 5, how comfortable is Vertin in her own skin? Heck Drop some hcs on me too if you'd like. I eat them up lol

Yn was used to getting checked for infection. It was nothing new to her. She knew she wasn’t, but it always made her nervous watching her brothers and father get checked as well. She watched and held her breath as Scott got checked. Green. It turned green.
“Breathe, kiddo. It’s okay.” He said, patting her back as they waited for Zeak and their dad to get checked as well.
Once they were cleared they were led to some beat-up, old military vans to be transported. Yn tuned out the men barking orders around her. Scott helped her in and handed her her bag before climbing in behind her.
“How long will this take?” She asked.
“About 8 hours, give or take…”
“That’s going to take forever.” She sighed.
“You’ll be fine.” Scott reassured as their van pulled off.
Yn and Zeak played a few rounds of ISpy, even getting Scott to play a few times before they got bored of that. She eventually got restless and decided it was time for a quick nap. So with her head resting on her brother she slowly slipped into a light sleep.
When she woke up, the sun was setting. She looked all around trying to figure out where they were but most of the road signs along this highway had been overrun by the plants. Before she got the chance to ask though, she was cut off by the driver’s hand-held radio going off.
“Hey, there’s a situation up here…” A voice on the other end said.
“What’s going on? I got a van full of people I gotta drop off.” Their driver said, clearly annoyed.
“Baltimore is gone…”
Yn’s eyes went wide and she looked up at her brother. He knew this wasn’t good but wanted to find out more, so he held up a finger to his lips to tell her to stay quiet so he could listen.
“What do you mean it’s gone? The QZ is in Baltimore… you can’t miss it. It didn’t just grow legs and walk away.” Their driver said.
“Well, I see it. I also see hundreds of infected stumbling around it.”
“Shit. Turn off your lights and drive out slowly. Don’t startle them, are they will swarm your van.”
Yn’s chest felt tight as her heart began to race.
“Fuck. They’re coming! Turn around NOW!”
The whole van fell silent as the screams of the people in the other van crackled through the speaker on the radio.
“We’re taking a detour.” Their driver said before making a sharp turn.
He grabbed his radio, “Baltimore has fallen, I repeat, the Baltimore Quartine Zone has fallen. Change route to Boston. We should have enough fuel to get us to within 5 miles. Van 1 has been attacked.”
Although she knew they were, Yn checked and made sure that both her brothers and Pa were all in the same van.
“How long will it take to get to Boston?” Someone in the back of the van asked.
“Another seven hours. So get comfy. We will drive through the night.”
Since she had slept earlier, Yn wasn’t super tired. Instead, she passed the time thinking about what awaited her and her family in Baston. She figured she’d finish school while her brothers and Pa found work. What types of jobs did they have there? From what she knew every QZ did things a little differently. Who knows if she’d even go to school? As she’s gotten older she’s realized it was different now.
Scott went to school when he was young with the plan of going to college. Now, colleges weren’t really a thing, so was there even a point? Maybe she could get a job… help provide for her family as well.
She wasn’t sure how long she stayed up but eventually, she fell asleep. When she woke up this time it was to Scott nudging her awake.
“Wake up kiddo. We gotta go.” He said.
“Why?”
“Just come on. Stay close.” He said, grabbing her bag from where it sat at her feet.
He got out and then turned to help her. The man that had been driving turned to face them. Now he held a shotgun in his hand.
“Stay close. We’re about two eight miles away from the outskirts of the QZ. Infected aren’t common here but they can be here. If you have anything you can use to defend yourself, I suggest you grab it now.” He said.
Each of Yn’s brothers and their dad had their own gun. They were her dad’s from back in Texas that he grabbed when they fled the night of the outbreak. Yn didn’t have one, she was too young. She did however have the knife she used to cut down her brother after he had hung himself. Scott told her to keep that night and it’s never left her pocket since. She pulled it out and flipped the blade out, then she looked to Scott for his approval.
He gave a small nod, “Be careful. Stay right beside me.” He instructed.
They had made it about 6 miles. Two more to go. Nothing had happened and the closer they got, the least likely they were to run into something… right?
Yn heard something and snapped her attention that way. In the trees, she swear she saw something.
“What’s wrong?” Scott asked.
“The trees.” She said, now standing still, watching for something to move.
“Just keep walking.” Scott said.
She turned back to the trail they were walking. She made it a few paces ahead before Scott was yelling at her to watch out. She turned her head just in time to see it as it took her to the ground. She held her hands out, keeping it from biting her.
“Scott! Scott! Help! Help me! Please! Please help me!” She screamed, clearly struggling to keep it off of her.
Scott reacted quickly, pulling out his pistol and shooting it in the head twice. As it went limp, Yn managed to push it off of her. She sat up and pushed herself back along to the ground until her back hit a stump.
“Did she get bit?” The driver asked, coming over to them.
“No, she didn’t. She’s okay.” Scott said, crouching down in front of her, “Are you okay?”
She shook her head as the tears fell from her eyes, making tracks in the dirt on her cheeks from where she had fallen.
“Did it bite you? It’s okay, we’ll take care of it, make it all better if it did. We just need to know. Did it?”
Again she shook her head.
“Positive?”
She nodded this time.
“Good, come here.” Scott said opening his arms.
Yn launched herself into his arms and cried into his shoulder.
“Thank you.” She mumbled through her tears.
Scott opted to just carry her the rest of the way, she was still clearly in shock. He handed his gun back to their father so he could hold her better. He carefully stepped over the infected person and continued on down the trail.
When they made it into the QZ they were checked for infection once again. This time it was Scott who held his breath while he watched his little sister get checked. Green. Good. It was green. She was okay.
They were given a small apartment to live in and were told they would have to start working within the next couple of days. Someone would come to show them where to go tomorrow morning. That night, after supper, Yn was laying down in bed. Scott was nearby, watching her, making sure she was okay. When she was attacked, it scared him. He couldn’t lose her. He kept her sane in this crazy world they lived in. He knew their dad held a lot of resentment toward her ever since Chris’s death. He knew their dad blamed her. But he didn’t, he never could.
Ever since that night, he made a promise to himself that he would do everything in his power to protect his sister, and he’d be damned if he was going to break that promise.

Y/N led Joel to a hill that overlooked the vast farmland, surrounded by trees that provided a cool shade from the sun. They rode up the hill, which was steep and bumpy, until they reached a clearing where a big tree stood, casting its shadow over the surrounding grass. Y/N and Joel got off their horse and tied it to the tree, and she pulled out a colorful blanket from her bag.
She spread the blanket on the grass, and they both sat down, admiring the view. The sky was clear, and the sun was starting to set, casting a warm, orange glow over the landscape. Y/N turned to Joel and smiled. "My dad used to bring me and my siblings out here all the time to look at the stars at night," she said, her voice filled with nostalgia.
Joel nodded, taking in the beauty of the place. "It's a beautiful place," he replied, his eyes scanning the surroundings. The breeze was gentle and cool, and the sound of the nearby stream added to the serene atmosphere. For a moment, they both sat in silence, taking in the peacefulness. Their hands were inches from each other. Y/N couldn't help but let her hand touch his.
Joel was taken aback by Y/N's boldness. He had always seen her as sweet and innocent, but now he was seeing a different side of her. She seemed determined to get to know him better, even if he wasn't willing to let her in.
"Why does it feel like you planned this?" he asked, trying to make sense of the situation.
Y/N let out a playful giggle, as if she had been caught doing something she shouldn't have. "What if I have?" she dared to ask.
Joel cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. "I don't think you understand what type of man I am, girl," he warned her.
But Y/N didn't seem deterred. She turned to face him and said, "Joel, I wish you saw what I see in you. I think you're a great man, and I don't think you can change my mind about that."
Joel was surprised by her words. He didn't think anyone saw him that way anymore. He had made mistakes in the past, and he was still paying for them.
"You don't even know me," he replied, his voice more rough than she had ever heard from him. "You just know what I've allowed you to see so far in our small talks here and there."
Y/N didn't back down. She looked at him with unwavering eyes and said, "Then let me get to know you. Let me see the man behind the walls you've put up. I promise you won't regret it."
"I don't think you understand what your asking for kid," Joel answers, shaking his head slightly. Y/N turns to him, almost looking offended by his words. "I'm not a kid," she replies, crossing her arms. Joel can't help but smile at her, finding her tenacity and determination endearing.
"I know you're not a kid in the literal sense, but compared to me, you are," he says gently, trying to make her understand the gravity of the situation. "I'm sixteen years older than you, Y/N. And while you might be acting bold right now, we both know you're an innocent family girl. I think you need to find a nice, wholesome guy around your age, someone who can relate to your experiences and share your values."
Y/N's face falls at his words, and Joel can see the hurt in her eyes. He doesn't want to hurt her, but he knows he needs to be honest with her. He can't let her think that there's any chance of a relationship between them, not when he knows how wrong it would be.
"I'm sorry if that hurts, Y/N," he says, placing a hand on her shoulder in comfort. "But I have to be realistic here. We come from different worlds, and I don't think it would be fair to either of us to pursue anything more."
Joel feels a pang of sympathy for her, wishing he could take away her disappointment. But he knows he can't change the truth of the situation.
Without warning, the sky darkens, and heavy raindrops begin to fall. Y/N quickly stands up, feeling panicked. Joel stands up too, noticing how flustered she seems. He takes off his jacket and holds it over her head to shield her from the rain. "We should get back," he says, looking at her worriedly.
As they walk towards the horses, Y/N's foot slips and she starts to fall. Joel quickly moves to catch her before she hits the ground, but in doing so, he loses his balance and they both tumble down together. Y/N lands on top of Joel, but he's more concerned about her well-being than anything else. "Are you okay?" he asks, looking up at her and checking to see if she's hurt.
She assures him that she's fine, but they both stay there for a moment, just looking into each other's eyes. The rain is falling harder now, but they don't seem to mind. They both feel a strong connection between them and without saying a word, they lean in and kiss.
It's a soft, tender kiss at first, but it quickly becomes more passionate. Joel can't believe how good it feels to kiss her, and Y/N feels like she's been waiting for this moment for a long time. They both let themselves get lost in the moment, forgetting about everything else around them. The rain is the only thing that can be heard, creating a romantic backdrop for their first kiss.
Y/N quickly regains her composure she pulls herself off of Joel and mounts her horse. Even though this is all she's been thinking about this happening since she met Joel. She remembers the promise she made to herself and the values she holds.
She takes a deep breath and tries to focus on the present moment, but her mind keeps wandering back to the kiss. It was a mistake. She can't shake off the feeling that she's crossed a line.
Joel, on the other hand, is equally perplexed by the sudden turn of events. He had thought that he was being clear with her, that he didn't want to lead her on or give her false hope. But then, in a moment of weakness, he had given in to his own desires and kissed her. He's not sure what to make of it, whether it was a mistake or a sign of something more.
As they ride back to the ranch, the rain starts to let up, and the sun peeks through the clouds. Y/N keeps her distance from Joel, lost in thought and unsure of what to say. Joel, too, is lost in his own thoughts, replaying the kiss in his mind and wondering how to make sense of it all.
When they finally reach the ranch, Joel dismounts, and Y/N looks down at him. He looks at her with a mix of regret and confusion, and Y/N can see the turmoil in his eyes. "We need to talk," he says, his voice firm but gentle.
Y/N feels a sense of panic rise within her. She's afraid of what Joel might say, afraid that he might not feel the same way she does. "I have to get home, my parents will be worried wondering where I am," she says, cutting him off, and quickly rides off, leaving Joel standing there looking stunned.
After that day, every time they ran into each other, it was awkward. Joel tried to speak with her, but Y/N always made an excuse to avoid the conversation. Joel felt confused and frustrated, not knowing what to do or say to make things right between them.
Meanwhile, Y/N felt scared and unsure of what to do. She wanted to be near Joel and tell him how she felt, but she was afraid of scaring him off. She knew she was completely in love with him, but she also had a strong desire to wait until marriage to do anything intimate. When they kissed, she felt guilty for compromising her values. Y/N was also afraid of Joel turning her down, especially after he had already rejected her before they kissed. They had created a complicated situation, and neither of them knew how to move forward.
Joel has been struggling with his feelings for Y/N for some time now. But he finally decides that he needs to put an end to this confusion and asks Maria for Y/N's number.
After a few deep breaths, Joel calls Y/N, and she picks up the phone, sounding anxious. Joel tries to sound firm and gentle as he apologizes for what happened between them. He tells her that he knows he shouldn't have let the kiss happen and that he's sorry for putting her in that situation. He also reminds her of their age difference and tells her that she deserves better than him.
Before Y/N can even say anything, Joel hangs up, leaving her feeling devastated. She can feel tears streaming down her face, and that night, she cries herself to sleep, unable to stop thinking about Joel and their unrequited feelings for each other.

Cute/emotional little Roach centric fic. Went sort of flowery prose in bits, forgive it if u can, if not I absolutely get it and valid lmaooo
TW for brief descriptions of medical care/treatments & allusion to abortifacients (no actual abortion or miscarriage occurs in the fic, this is just a general allusion as it being noted as part of his medical knowledge.)
---
"I know," Roach sighs. "I'm sorry!"
The little girl wriggles on her mother's lap, but lets him finish her stitches.
"Thank you," the woman sighs and hands him a few coins. "I don't quite have-"
"This is more than enough," he cuts her off gently. "Make sure she keeps that clean. If anything starts to look infected, she'll need the next doctor that comes through."
She nods and waves as she and the girl leave the small empty shack he's commandeered for the duration of their stay at the port.
He told the captains that he simply prefers to find his own accommodations, but truthfully, it's because he doesn't need the crew knowing about and hanging around all this.
Part of why people come to him, after all, a transient pirate doctor/cook, is for the discretion and quiet.
He's helped out girls and women needing certain teas, with ingredients his mother taught him about.
There are babies growing up that he delivered, then for a fee took and found a home (sometimes as easy as reaching out to the local church or orphanage, other times begging a better off family or a pirate captain in want of an heir but lacking a family to consider a new baby.)
Broken arms he's set while ignoring blackened eyes and listening to insistent protests of a bad fall. He always mentions how easy it is to simply disappear on a ship, should one need to escape from anywhere for any reason.
And worse. So much worse, often begged to be kept secret, but they simply had to tell someone who might help.
And a doctor always tries to help. A decent one, at least. He may not be quite decent yet, but he figures he's close enough.
"Please," the man comes skidding around the corner, wailing bundle in his arms. "I need five minutes. Just two, even."
"Hey," Roach says softly. "What's up?"
"She left me with him," the man holds out the bundle. "He won't stop crying. I can't take it."
Roach silently takes the baby, and points the man across the way towards a cheap inn. The coins the girl's mother gave him will be enough for that, and the man can sleep for the first time in days.
"You're giving your dad a lot of trouble," Roach says over the baby's cries. "And all of what, a few days old?"
He's joking, but he feels bad when the baby wails louder.
To make up for it, he doesn't set the baby down in the bassinet in the shack (one bassinet and one small cot, in case anyone needs to be monitored overnight or longer), even after the baby sleeps.
Instead he walks the small square of the shack and rocks on his feet and drowsily mumbles shanties and lullabies until the two blur into an odd mix of fish in cradles knocked out of tree boughs by sailors.
Four hours later, the man returns with an older woman. Grandma, who upon hearing the situation has agreed to come and stay with them.
Roach hands over the baby with a bittersweet ache. Memories of younger siblings held and the idea of a family of his own (incredibly unlikely considering his career) and the physical ache of his arms from cradling the baby for so long.
"Here you are."
He peers out as his latest patient is carried off, and there stands Ed.
Pipe in hand, smoke lazily drifting through the candlelight shattering the dark. He looks imposing, every bit the fearsome Blackbeard of legend.
He also looks incredibly, almost upsettingly attractive, but Roach is fairly sure Ed just has that effect on most if not all people.
"Can I help with something?" Roach asks.
"Everyone else is waiting for you to come out with us," Ed replies. "But no one knew where you went. When I volunteered to find you, I didn't know what I'd expect to find you doing-"
Roach braces for a lecture about being a pirate, or something to that effect. It won't stop him doing this, and he'd be disappointed in Ed, but this wouldn't be the first captain to disapprove of what he did, of the time and loyalty they always claimed he took away from them with such work.
"But this is awesome! I could hear that kid clear across the way earlier, but look at you!" Ed smiles. "How'd you quiet them down so fast?"
"Practice," Roach shrugs. "Siblings, then patients."
Ed's eyes grow wide. "Midwifery?"
Roach nods. "Sort of. As needed, thankfully not too often."
"You've got stories," Ed beams. "You've gotta come tell us-"
He pauses. "You're open all night to help people, aren't you?"
Roach nods. "But I can-"
"No, hang on!" Ed says. "I'll go get everyone, and we'll have things here. We can help you with anyone who comes by! We've got food and drink we can carry over, and I want to hear stories while we eat! Gorier the better!"
Ed claps a hand on his shoulder before jogging off to wherever he left the crew, leaving Roach stunned.
Stunned, but incredibly happy. Not just for the company, but for the extra hands. With them, he might even get to sleep for an hour.

I really need you as a full grown white adult to analyze why you think a character that hates black people is fun to ship at all. Like I could just make fun of you but just think with your little peanut baby brain for five seconds WHY you think it's okay to "go deeper" on an abusive racist's character at all. Lol
i mean, i shouldn't give you the benefit of a response because you've been rude but i will.

before reading: abuse is never an excuse to be a bad person, but it does help to explain why people act in certain ways. tldr: i could talk about this for hours but at the end of the day if a non-white person says "he's a racist" then i say okay and i won't argue with you,
but as you've asked for me to analyse it i will. the second his dad hit him, i got it. if you've been in that situation or a similar one, you get it in that second. does it excuse any of the shit billy did? no. but does his character suddenly have more depth? yes. so that's why it's okay to "go deeper", because the duffers made him deeper. sorry, complain to them for making a character with an abusive homelife. because the way i see billy is that he's been raised with abusively strict rules, to respect his dad's wishes. he has to do everything by the way his dad lives. dacre said he didn't see billy as racist and didn't play him as such, and though the duffers have said contradicting things (they've said both he is AND he isn't), they removed all of the racial slurs. but the implication in those scenes with lucas is that he is racist, yeah i'm not denying that.
because then you see the scene where billy's dad abuses him. and for people who've been through shit like that it clicks. i'm not saying abuse is an excuse to be racist and i'm not saying i want everyone to love the guy, hell i don't love the guy all the time, but i understand him. at the end of the series, billy doesn't give a fuck that max is going to the snowball with her black boyfriend - he knows she'll see lucas there and he doesn't say a word cos he doesn't care, because max has already made it very fucking clear that she's tough and she can handle it. but at the start of the series, when the pressure from his dad is high, he does care cos he's selfish as fuck and he's scared, and if his dad finds out that billy is letting max hang out with a black boy, he'll lose it.
that's how i see billy. is he a cunt? yeah. but he is a cunt because he's been abused, and that makes sense to me. being abused is never an excuse to do bad shit but the character is seventeen and no one's ever intervened, and that's where the fics and the shipping comes in. we don't write the billy direct from the show, we write billy as if someone had intervened. a billy that gets called out for his attitudes, a billy that realises the way things are is wrong, a billy that realises an apology will never be enough: an au billy. and i've done shit (nowhere near as bad as he has) that i had been raised to think was right, that has been ingrained in me from shitty parenting, and it's only in adulthood when someone sat me down and called me out on it that i learned. and mate i'm not sitting here stanning the guy who beat up black kids - i'm stanning the character potential. they could've given this abused angry kid background to robin and she'd have been the one i stanned. hell, if they'd developed johnathan a bit more, i'd be over there in byers-ville.
and abuse isn't an excuse to be racist, no fucking way, but does it explain/shed a light on why he's acting a certain way? yeah. but again, i'm not going to sit and tell you that he's not racist because if you see him as racist, then you have every right to and i'm not gonna convince you otherwise. i just think that the billy you see vs the billy we/dacre see is different.
if you ever read a harringrove fic, chances are the first thing they write him doing is apologising, leaving his abusive dad and explaining this shit. we're not writing and headcanoning an abusive racist billy, we're not sitting around rejoicing in him being racist. that's not the billy we see. we've basically made up our own billy, because the billy in the show is a dick, but the potential future billy could've been less so. and that's the truth.

"the friendships on this show are the things we do best." and then proceeds to separate them people can't tell if they're friends or not, makes half of Buck's convo with Hen this season pointless drabble, makes Buck and Chimney's interaction so barren some people are legitimately confused if they still hasn't gotten over the punch, etc etc. At least Hen/Chimney and Hen/Athena are still good, but when you can't even put your mouth where your money is for something she thinks the show does best...
Legit will forever be bitter at Tim for leaving her in charge.
@lovecolibri has been banging this drum since about 6x04, so I wanna make sure my friend knows there are other folks out there who agree. IT'S TRUE, NONNIE. WE SHOULD ALL BE SAYING IT. Friendship isn't just "two faves who share the screen". Friendship is two characters giving each other mutual attention, love, and respect instead of it being one-sided. Eddie and Chimney's "friendship" came about because Eddie still got to ride along as a paramedic, but while Eddie gave his perspective (again) about Chimney's feelings for Maddie...where was Chimney to listen to Eddie's struggles with Christopher beyond the quip about Eddie not being cool enough anymore? Why couldn't Chimney be the one to know about Isabel's experience with her curandera (healer) who promised to help her speak to her husband on the other side so he'd have a better understanding of why Eddie rejects jinxes and curses? And then there's the fact that Eddie said Chimney's greeting at the Madney apartment was "weirder than usual", yet we've never seen him there (because they don't write that, and even the one time Bob Goodman tried, it got cut). Hen and Buck? Important conversation after Lev's death in 6x02, but then he's seeking advice while drunk, and she's giving her POV while drunk, and it's not discussed for three more weeks until they can "laugh" about Buck stopping himself from jerking off, and there was the Hen + Buck + Denny scene which (I'm sorry) wasn't much more than an opportunity to put them in a non-work setting and have mre of that "fun" Kristen talked about. You know what culd have been useful? Buck hearing about Denny's bio dad situation and having it influence his future plans with the sperm donor situation. Maybe there's some of that in 6B, but it won't erase the choices made in 6A just so the story line could continue on for the rest of the season (because it's easier than coming up with new material). Maddie...continues talking to nobody, and it continues being weird. This is gonna piss people off even though it's not my intention, but...it's getting to the point where having someone who works so little is impacting the rest of the show. I'm not blaming JLH for that, though. Maddie can still be the #1 dispatcher while Sue or Linda or even Josh takes a call so we can see Maddie with other people, and it's not JLH's fault that Chim's screen time is tied to that relationship so often. It just...sucks that the limited hours make KR & co. feel like they shouldn't explore the character more and don't want to create a schedule that works for more than just three actors (JLH, Kenny, and Oliver, and not even at the same time). I have a lot of thoughts about the way "friendships" have been handled under Kristen's direction and it basically comes down to "Well. This could have been done better." [tagging @lovecolibri twice in one post because I would like to read more thoughts and you always expand on what I'm not saying <3]

Foxtrot Alpha Alpha - Chapter 9
Tumblr media
Pairing: Hangman x Female OC
Word Count: 2212
Warnings: Discussion of violence, bad home life
Summary: Hangman learned his lesson a long time ago to never show his true feelings when someone's words or actions hurt him. To do so showed weakness that could be exploited, and Seresin men couldn't show weakness. Of course, there was an exception to every rule, and Jake's always came in the form of women, three in particular: his mom, Juliette Kazansky, and the girl whose name he could no longer bring himself to speak. She was the girl that got away; she was his biggest 'what if' and his biggest regret; she would forever be the ghost that haunted his dreams. Jake believed that's where she'd stay, for he would surely never see her again after what he did.
Or so he thought.
Notes: This is the sequel to India Lima Yankee; I'm using the same callsign for the Female OC as in Ghost Story because I just really like it, but they are different characters; chapters in italics are flashbacks.
Chapter Songs: I'm Only Me When I'm With You Life As We Know It
****
Hangman
He sat by the pond reading a book on fighter jets, trying to take his mind off the scrabble with his brother's best friend, Kyle, earlier. It'd left him sporting a black eye, although that'd actually come from Nick. The fight would've continued- and possibly have gotten much worse- had Michael Seresin not stepped in and broken it up. Of course, when Jake tried to explain what happened, it was his word versus Nick's. Michael believed the latter and grounded Jake for two weeks. This didn't stop Jake from sneaking out of his bedroom through his window, though. He had to get away from the stifling atmosphere and, more importantly, away from his brothers, mainly Nick.
"Jake?" Annalise's voice, which typically calmed Jake, sent his nerves spiking. He'd kept his unstable home life from her since he'd met her in June of that year. With Christmas this week, he wanted to maintain the cheerful ambiance. Thankfully, she approached from his good side, so he kept his focus on his book but smiled.
"Fancy meeting you here," he said, flipping to the next page. "What are you doing here?"
"Walking Kory," Annalise replied, scratching the head of her golden retriever. "What the hell are you doing out here? It's freezing."
"Wanted to get out of the house."
"And sitting in the frigid temperatures on the frozen ground to read your book was the best place you could come up with?" Annalise crouched next to him, and Jake realized he couldn't escape the situation without telling her the truth. Sighing, he turned his head to look at her. Her eyes immediately widened at the sight. "Who did that to you?"
Tumblr media
"Nick. I caught his friend Kyle stealing money from my wallet and confronted him about it. When I tried to take it back, we started fighting. Nick joined in and socked me. Now I have this shiner," Jake explained, motioning at the injury. "My dad broke up the fight but believed Nick instead of me when we told him what happened. Got grounded for two weeks. I snuck out my window because I didn't want to be in the house."
"Those dicks!" Annalise exclaimed, fury alight in her eyes.
"Yeah, well, that's my brother and my dad. I swear Dad hates me. Always takes my brothers' sides in everything, regardless of whether it's Nick or Matt."
"How come?"
Jake shrugged. "No idea. It's been like that for as long as I can remember. Why do you think I want to get out of this town so badly when we graduate?"
"I figured you're ready to get out in the real world like I am..." Annalise said, standing up. She offered her hand. "Come on. Let's head to my house and get you an ice pack."
"I don't want your parents to see me like this."
"Mom and Dad won't be home until tomorrow, and Jackie is at a friend's house tonight. They won't know," Annalise assured, wiggling her fingers to silently insist he join her. Jake relented, taking her hand and allowing her to help him stand. The pair strolled back to her house with Kory trotting happily between them.
Upon entering the Blackwood household, Jake knelt down to pet Kory while Annalise grabbed an ice pack. She handed it to Jake and sat next to him. "I'm sorry," she said.
"For what?" Jake replied, placing the ice pack to his eye.
"For what happened with your family and for making you feel like you couldn't come to me about it."
"No, no, that's not- that's not why I didn't tell you. I know I could've told you; I just didn't want to. You can't do anything to stop it, and I didn't want to burden you."
"Nothing you tell me is ever a burden to me, Jake," Annalise assured, placing a hand on his knee. "Besides, burdens are too heavy for one to carry alone. You should have someone to come to about this."
The sincerity in her voice and in her words broke the dam of everything he'd held back from telling her. He told her about the fights between his parents, how his mom would end up in tears after each one, and how she would never leave Michael Seresin for the sake of her sons because she worried about losing the custody battle that would ensue from a divorce. Jake told Annalise how his mom was his only ally in the house and that Matt had slowly been getting nicer since he left for college, but Nick brought out the worst in him, and Matt would often slip back into his bullying habits when he returned home. Jake confessed that the first day he ran into Annalise, he'd gotten into an argument with his dad because he didn't want to join the family business, and Michael Seresin lost his damn mind over it. Jake admitted he'd thought about running away on numerous occasions and that the only thing keeping him here was his mom and-
"You," Jake finished. "Don't get me wrong, I've always had friends, but I've never felt as close to them as I do you. I get that that's cheesy, and maybe I'm saying this because I got a small concussion or something in the fight earlier, but... yeah. It sounds stupid coming out of my mouth now..."
Tumblr media
"No, no, it's not stupid at all," Annalise said, shifting so she sat cross-legged. She dropped her gaze from his. "I've never really had close friends before. I used to when I was little, but we moved so often, and I hated how much it hurt when I left that I decided to avoid making friends entirely. I'd be friendly, sure, but not have friends. That way, I wouldn't be upset when I inevitably moved again. I tried not to get too close to you, and I even prepared myself for us to never speak again once school started-"
Jake frowned at the admission. "Why did you think we wouldn't speak after school started?"
"Because you were Mr. Popular, and I was invisible. Except for when I'm around you, I'm a ghost, whether I intend to be or not. But you proved me wrong, and I'm really glad you did. You're the only close friend I've ever had. So... thank you."
"I'm not sure if I should be honored that I'm the only person you've allowed to be a close friend or if I should be insulted that you thought I'd stop talking to you because of my popularity," Jake joked lightly, although the latter did, in fact, concern him.
"No, it wasn't because of your- it was just that you were a somebody, and I was a nobody. I thought: why would you want anything to do with me once you were with all your friends back at school?"
Jake chuckled. "I never told you this, but my friends weren't busy the entire summer, you know. They were the first day I met you but after that? They invited me to all kinds of things, and I skipped hanging out with them to be with you."
Annalise stared at him in bewilderment. "Why would you do that?"
"Because I liked being around you more than I did them."
She shook her head, still apparently unable to believe his words. "But why? All I do is play guitar and talk fighter jets."
"And nearly decapitate me with said guitar."
"That was one time!"
"Which I will never let you live down," Jake replied, shooting her a cheeky grin. She swatted playfully at his arm in return. "In all seriousness, I love that you found your interests and what you want to do already. You have a path to follow, a future that you have all planned out. I had no idea what I wanted until you came along. You helped me realize that I want to be a part of something bigger than myself. I want to do something no one in my family has done before and make a name for myself."
"I get it, but I also know you, Jake. Part of you choosing the Navy is because you also want to fly badass jets, don't you?"
"I really want to fly badass jets," Jake whined. "Can you imagine being up in an F-18 flying at almost Mach 2? Or an F-35?"
Annalise pursed her lips. "Will you hate me if I say yes?"
Jake narrowed his eyes at her. "Say 'yes' to what?"
"That I can imagine? Because I've been up in one?"
His mouth dropped slightly open, stunned at the response and insanely jealous. Deciding he had to give her hell for it, he declared, "We can't be friends anymore. Nope. We're done!"
"It was my birthday present this year... I asked for it again for Christmas. Don't know if it's going to happen, but if it's any consolation-" a bashfulness seemingly overcame Annalise- "I, uh, I might've asked my parents if we could swing having you go up with me too. As your Christmas present from me."
Jake blinked, processing her words. "... But- but all I got you was a new guitar-"
"You did?" Annalise perked up instantly.
"Yeah, but that doesn't even come close to going up in a fighter jet! My present game is weak compared to yours!"
"Are you kidding? Guitars aren't cheap, Jake! The fact that you got me one is amazing!"
Jake scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, but-"
"No 'buts.' The guitar is perfect. I can't wait to see it!"
"Might have to wait until after Christmas since I'm grounded..."
"Speaking of which-" Annalise checked the time- "how long before your dad finds out you're not home?"
"He probably won't notice I'm gone until dinner, so I have a couple more hours."
"Do you want to risk getting in more trouble by not being home?"
"What's another week of being grounded? Besides, you're worth it," Jake said, unsure of where his sentimentality and borderline flirtatious remarks stemmed from. "Want to watch a movie?"
"Uh, only if you want to watch The Notebook because that's the only option you're getting."
"I need to see what the big deal is about the movie anyway, so why not?"
"It's romantic, and it has Ryan Gosling."
Tumblr media
"What's with the letters thing?" Jake asked as he followed Annalise into the living room. They sat on the couch while she pulled out the movie and put it into the DVD player.
"You'll have to wait and find out, but it's super sweet," Annalise said with a wistful smile. She then added, "If a guy ever did that for me, I might marry him on the spot."
"Noted."
"What? You planning on marrying me or something?"
"No, I'm just making sure no other guy finds out your weakness and exploits it."
"Please, my one true love is fighter jets, so no need to worry about that." Annalise patted his shoulder, and he ignored the twinge of pain in his heart at her words. While she most likely meant it as a joke, the thought he might never have a chance with her hurt more than he cared to admit. Of course, it was probably for the better. What did he have to offer her? Now or in the future? Annalise came from a strong, stable family. She had goals and had the means to reach them. Jake was the polar opposite. Sure, he had the same goals as Annalise, but if his dad caught wind that his son wanted to join the Navy, his head might actually explode from fury. Besides, Jake's home life was anything but stable. Why would a girl like Annalise ever date him? She wouldn't, and he doubted her parents would let her either, so Jake decided being her best friend would be the only thing he'd ever be to her, and that was okay. As long as he had her in his life, that's all that mattered. Annalise had swiftly turned into his rock, his anchor, and he feared what he might become without her to keep him grounded. Jake could do nothing to risk losing her.
"Hey, Annie?"
"Annie?" she echoed, giving him a curious look. "That's new."
Jake cocked his head, confused himself. "Sorry. I didn't- I don't know where that came from. I won't call you that again."
"No... it's fine."
"But no one else calls you Annie?"
"I know," Annalise responded, smiling shyly at him. "I'm only allowing you."
"Why?"
"Because you're you." Jake couldn't help but smile cheekily, prompting Annalise to add, "Don't let that give you a big head. Otherwise, you'll lose the privilege."
"Understood."
"So, what were you trying to tell me before I interrupted you?"
"I just wanted to thank you for earlier and for letting me escape that hellhole for a bit."
Tumblr media
"I've got your back, Jake. You made the mistake of getting close to me, so now you're stuck with me. You know that, right?"
Jake raised an eyebrow at her. "Forever?"
"And always."
"Sounds good to me." Jake slung his arm around her shoulders, and Annalise rested her head on his shoulders. They settled in to watch the movie, both finding comfort in each other's presence.

I get very tired of dealing with people who are so busy being "practical" that they're just totally prescriptive
I tend to be, I think, a fairly pragmatic person. Like most years I spend about... maybe $50 on myself for the whole year (this year is going to be a bit higher, but there's also specific utility to what I'm spending it on). I tend to not bother buying myself snacks, cause I know I'm mostly hungry, and if I'm hungry real food is a better deal (I sadly tend to fail to get ahold of the real food either)
My point is that I tend to be very goal oriented (not in a ladder climbing way, in a I set goals and then work towards them kinda way), I tend to be very focused on what will push my situations into being sustainable, I tend to look for high efficiency, low cost, long term solutions
I was... I was talking to that friend I'll say is Dr Jekyll and Mr Dumbass (I was more trying to talk to my dad, but they were both there). It was definitely Mr Dumbass today
For one thing, he was already saying a bunch of really fucking dumb shit where... it's so stupid I'm not even going to repeat it, where it's like the answer for why we don't do that is because it's obviously a moronically stupid idea on top of being immoral, and also totally ineffective you dipshit
So I already wasn't in the mood for him
Then, while talking about visiting my grandma, I mention how in order to start cooking I need sharp knives, none of my knives are sharp (cause my mom's a fool and dulls them all), and how it would really help if I could just take a knife from my grandma since she doesn't cook anymore and just... keep it as my personal knife that I keep sharp
(I can't do this, cause my grandma is... bug fuck crazy, and legit believes that if you gift someone a knife they'll kill people with it which like... where do you even get that idea, like she has literally said before that she'd give money to buy a knife but wouldn't give one as a gift... what?)
Anyway, Mr Dumbass starts going on about how I can just buy a new knife, and it's like no... in your quest for objective practicality you've lost all pragmatism
I don't need to buy a new knife, I need to learn to sharpen knives which... which I just have a bit of a block on cause I've had trouble figuring out how to sharpen stuff so far (I've come to suspect that which of the hard and soft stones you use first and second isn't intuitive and I've been trying to hone with the sharpening stone and sharpen with the honing stone)
Like... to get mean for just a slight moment, shut your fool mouth, you've got more money than I've ever even touched, and while you were poor at one point when you were younger you've clearly forgot, and not everyone can just buy stuff
Also you're saying a bunch of dumb shit tonight with such confidence and it's pissed me off
He's capable of being a very very smart and compassionate person, and then other times he's a damn fool, and far too often he... he talks about practicality without actually understanding how to be practical
Being practical requires working in the confines of reality
...I don't know, I don't think I have all the words I need to explain what I'm saying, but the point is he's annoyed me and people who act like him annoy me where it's like... nothing matters in the end other than if you actually solve something
You can talk all day about what someone "should do", but what matters is what they will do
So it gets frustrating talking with my family with him cause he has all this ideas where it's like... that functionally won't work, and like some of his great ideas are how I can just wait for my grandma to die and get the knife then and it's like... yeah... but I need a knife now dummy, and I have knives, and which is more useful?
Dropping a pretty penny on a new knife, or finishing learning a skill I really fucking need badly and that makes it so I can sharpen things for next to free forever?
...I'm just tired of having to do everything myself and getting no help, that's all. How about you shut your fucking mouth, stop trying to offer advice that's worse than my plans I'm already slowly turning the gears on making happen, and just let me bitch about my idiot relatives?
Laughing at this fool antics when he chooses to do that, legitimately is more helpful than any attempts to help
#last two paragraphs are things that sadly a lot of people could learn#sometimes you need to shut your mouth and just listen#and this is why I have my no advice without action policy#if the rolls were reversed; I'm not willing to suggest someone buy a knife unless I'm willing to pay for it#most I'll ever do is something like say 'Just wondering if this is something you've already tried'#like know someone who go hacked here; and I just asked if they're running two factor authentication now cause if not it might help#like that's the outside amount of advice I'm willing to offer without action#because it acknowledges that they may have already thought of it; and it more just tries to float an option than it does suggest shit#honestly... I think I'd be less annoyed if it was like 'what about buying a new knife?; rather than 'you should buy a new knife'#advice in the form of a question makes for a dialogue rather than dictation#lets the other person just explain why something won't work if they've already considered it#like in this case... money; way rather just sharpen shit and get to spend money on food instead of a knife#like... this is the crux of what I complain about with my grandma; that groceries are my number one desire with money#are you my grandma? suggesting that I just flippantly spend money once it becomes something you'd want to spend it on?#...and the answer honestly is that yeah that's usually how people are#they can laugh off wasting money on shitty over priced clothes; but when it's what they like spending on that's what everyone should do#...maybe I fail at it; but I try not to do that#try to just be a back up to people and support them in whatever matters to them#and once again; only offer advice when I'm actually willing to do something like drop the money on getting them the thing I think they need#eh... I don't want to share the other dumb shit he was saying cause... dear god#edgy stoned dipshit talk; you know?#framed as actionable policy#good guy; helped me move shit up (I mostly needed a driver) but... utter fucking ass too much of the time#there's reasons we're not closer

SS continues. It's kind of bad!
Done with the bridge, Gronder is skipped, and done with Merceus also, so all that's left is two maps of Edelgard, Shambhala and I guess evil Rhea or whatever.
I have to say that I did not initially appreciate just HOW MUCH of the post-skip is copy-pasted. I also checked the chapter list for AM, and it's pretty much entirely the same. We take the same freaking bridge in Alliance territory for some god-forsaken reason, apparently? Even though an Arianrhod map exists? That's going to be interesting in like six months when I get to it.
But while Claude making us do VW by proxy was kind of funny in a stupid way, Gronder is a disaster. I am in genuine awe of how poorly handled that was.
So Gronder takes place off screen. We don't go there AND, get this, the entire month when it would take place is just erased from the calendar. There's no April! They did not even pretend to be putting in some effort here. They just excised the entire month along with the map.
And just thinking about Gronder gives me a headache. What was Claude even doing there? Leicester is specifically a hot mess, and I can't see us killing Lorenz at the bridge improving the situation much. And yet Claude goes off to Gronder and uuuh "disappears." At this point, I'm going to assume that he sent Judith's troops and dumped all that on us because he had already decided to peace out and he went to Gronder purely for the purposes of faking his death. That makes about as much sense as anything else.
Dimitri ghost is also funny. My dude, I still don't know anything about you... please go haunt someone who cares.
Anyway, liveblogging notes:
Catherine says that Alliance nobles are weird but in a good way. You won't find "such big-hearted nobles" elsewhere. This is in reference to Judith (and Claude by extension) helping us.
Shamir considers Judith's spy network to be impressive, given that she had people able to spot Rhea being taken away by the Imperial Army in the chaos of the invasion five years ago.
It's mentioned that aside from Count Gloucester being supposedly devout (doubt), the commoners also support the Knights of Seiros. (Update: this is very funny given that he sends his son to die on our swords for uuuh no particular reason.)
Lord Gwendal's daughter fell in love with Sylvain once lol (Update: Ingrid's version of this is that, at fifteen, Sylvain sought "relentlessly" to involve himself with her.)
The two territories on either side of the Great Bridge of Myrddin are Acheron to the north (the one in Lorenz's paralogue) and Bergliez to the south. That's Caspar's dad, and he's been getting on swimmingly in Edelgard's new regime.
The dark merchant looks like one of the Agarthan mages lol, but the quest to get them to appear gives you a Morfis battalion, so I suppose that's where they're actually from?
Seteth says alcohol has little effect on him.
It's specified that Rhea had disabled the Phantoms and Altered Golems in the Holy Tomb in order to allow the ceremony (of throne-sitting) to take place. It seems that she also didn't create those defenses but rather they came pre-built with the Tomb...? Or maybe Seteth means Seiros (not "Rhea") created them back in the day, who can even tell.
Alois is pretty nice to use. Shamir is consistently useful. Seteth is fine. Hanneman is annoying as hell and had gotten killed way too many times. And Manuela not having physic is a bad joke.
The great bridge is a bit of hilarious mess. We get ambushed by warp reinforcements from Acheron, then Lorenz and his goons show up too. Bye, Lorenz. It's your own fault for dying.
Seteth comments on how some imperial troops were willing to lay down their lives to hold the bridge (Edelgard's crazy fangirl Ladislava), but eh.
Suddenly, Gilbert. He's still alive? He says he's serving Dimitri, who was hiding in Fraldarius territory. We didn't find this out until Gronder in VW. This time, the Kingdom rebels reach out in order to ally with the Church. I wanted to ally, but Seteth wouldn't let me. :(((( Seteth, let me live!!! Enough already! Anyway, instead, we just let them use our new bridge. Which all has some funny implications, since apparently Claude is too shady to ally with but also how did Dimitri's super mysterious force get to Gronder in VW?
Anyway, I guess that's why we don't go to Gronder. But I'm uuuuh confused about why Claude was even there, per the off-screen recap? He didn't ask to use our bridge, so how did he even get to Gronder? And WHY? The Alliance was still massively divided last we checked with them. Sure, we killed Lorenz, but I can't see that making things any less chaotic. Judith gave her forces to us, and even between the church and the alliance, it was always emphasized in VW how outnumbered we were. Why would Claude even go to Gronder? How did he get there......... And now he's uh missing (sus man).
Seriously, did he send us those troops because he decided he wanted to dump the war on us and secretly peace out? Or??
Anyway, Dimitri fucked up Edelgard but also got killed. Bye, we hardly knew ya. We still have a vision of his... ghost?? OK, sure.
Take your pick which is funnier, this or Hilda just kinda seeing him die off screen somewhere, after we beat his ass.
Location card for the ghost scene is "outer city" iirc.
April is just GONE. It doesn't exist! Like, we just don't even get a calendar for it?? What the actual fuck?!
Felix switches between thinking Dimitri was dead all along and thinking he was "alive all this time." Whatever.
Alois says we disguised ourselves as enemy soldiers to sneak in..... Where?? When did this happen? We didn't sneak onto the bridge, and if this is about the strategy for Merceus, we haven't discussed it yet.
Yeah, this is apparently a plan that we just haven't been shown yet, because Shamir says we gave the order to dress all our troops in Imperial armor. News to me!
Update: We can even ask "Disguises?" when we're already on the Merceus approach. Is Seteth claiming his strategy was an order from Byleth while handling everything behind the scenes? And then gaslights by saying it was your idea (that you forgot about)?
For a knight, we pick up Lavandula grass, an herb with tiny purple flowers. Its calming scent relieves stress. You make tea out of it.
Ashe mentions that Dedue is missing, and his death is not actually confirmed. But from what I've been told, his appearance in Enbarr was also cut from SS.
I just realized there's a huge globe in the library. I wonder if anyone's been able to get a good look at what's drawn on it. Seteth sure plays up how he totally does not recognize those ballistic missiles.
Come to think of it, how did Jeritza know that the missiles were coming?
Seteth spells out a plan we sure did not have before. I can't believe they have him both railroading you earlier and also playing up how you're totally such a cool and smart strategist...

my heart breaks for you. you're very strong for doing that. my mother is actually alive, it's been 8 years since her and my papa divorced. My dad's side is a lot stronger so he has our custody, but I gotta live like I don't have a mother, you know their marriage was a typical traditional sexist arranged marriage. my mom was the housewife my dad the bread provider. I can't forget the night they separated. I was 11 back then. It's been a long time. He created a situation where I can't visit her regularly or even talk to her. I need to call her in secret. It's painful. My dad still lives with his mom our grandmom, joint family, so you must have guessed what caused all those stuff between them. But yeah this life is more painful. I wish I was with her. I wish I had her support because I need it the most atm.
I apologize for misunderstanding earlier, glad to know your mother is fine🥺
I think if you talk about her, it will be better to say 'I'm sad she's not with me'. Because 'was' means past and some people might misunderstand 😅
Have you ever thought about moving out and living by yourself? So you will have freedom to decide what you want. You are nineteen, I think?
Just a bit about me, I was like you, came from a disfunctional broken family. Before I enrolled to a college in different city, I had to live with an abusive womanizer father, my house was practically a hellhole for me. My father's position as the only breadwinner worsened our situation back then. (Classic problem in most families with patriarchal culture).
So when I graduated, my options was finding a job asap or go back to live with him. I was so desperate that I almost considered to become a sugarbaby. I have a friend my age who has a sugardaddy thirty years her senior, -with grandchildren. She has her own house, car, and travels abroad twice a year. Sounds so promising, right?.
But I still have my own idealism, and I'm a sucker for good looking men (sadly, handsome men with money usually don't need to pay for companionship, sugardaddies pictured in BTS fanfic certainly don't exist!)🤧🤣, so I had to abandon the idea in the end.
I remember I submitted my resume to almost 100 companies in a month, to the point I didn't care if I have to do petty cleaning job as long as I didn't have to go back to my father.
It was a struggle in the beginning, changed job twice before landed to an admin job that paid just enough. The first two year were the hardest, like a slavery to me. Ugly pay, frequent unpaid overtime hours.
I assume that you don't like your father that much, nor you like to live with his extended family.
I'm not gonna sugarcoat things by saying everything will be better in time. Because most often it won't (unless there is an unexpected turn of event on your favor, which unlikely), people hardly change their personality, and the only one have the power to change your life is you.
The life I led after I moved out from my father's house wasn't perfect, but at least I was not mentally abused anymore, I could sleep without worrying if there would be another fight ensued in the house.
If you don't like the way you live right now, find a way that can help you to get out from the situation, of where you want to be. No matter how small the steps you start in the beginning, it will still make a difference.
But also be aware that every decision have consequences, choose the one that you think is right and feasible for you. Talk to someone, read a lot of motivational books, go for positive people who can give you positive insight.
Life is a journey, not a destination, never certain, sometimes up, sometimes it's down. You just have to do what you can and make the most out of it.
Good luck and best wishes for you and for your mother. ❤️
