it’s WILD how well the trio works in omitb…. Like. they dont rlly fall into typical archetypes (notably none of them are particularly science-y or specifically academic, none of them are athletic, etc etc). there is the sense of like, “very outgoing one vs awkward one vs reserved one” but idk it’s just like. I dont think they fall neatly into formulaic interactions, 3 is kind of a strange number for a group like this, “two old men and one young adult woman” sounds weird on its own,,,,, but it works SO,, WELL. i feel like kudos to the writers for figuring out a NEW way to make a group dynamic work so fucking well. And of course to the actors who make it Work

Summary: Aemond is betrothed to you, you didn't want to marry but Aemond targaryen changed your heart making you fall for the prince instead.

You were going to get married in a two week of time, you only found out about it last night. You tired to deny the offer but your father of course agreed to it since it was the Targaryens.

You tired it not let it ruin your mood, sitting outside in the grass as you made a flower crown. Everyone started to pack their things or yours as well, since it was day of departure.

"Lady Y/n, it's time to go" you didn't like to hear those words, but you had no choice to listen or your father would drag you there himself.

You made your way to the carriage, getting inside with your flower crown still in your hands undone. You pick a few sunflowers out the grass before leaving, then you started to finish it.

You father came in sitting infront of you "I'm glad your here, I wouldn't like dragging you there" he laughed, trying to make a joke out of it which didn't work on you.

Of course you were upset since you heard Kingslanding is like pigs dirts there no grass, the weather there is horrible, is all your got your information from the maids in your castle.

You didn't responded to your father which he took the hint and left to ride the horse. It's not that you had anything against the Targaryens, you just wish you got married somewhere better then a heat rage of a place.

But you had to place to complain since they were the rulers of the seven kingdoms. And your house is what caught their eye, not the Lannisters, Starks, Tully, or other houses. Just the L/ns house caught their eye great.

Luckily it only took two days of riding to get to Kingslanding without stop, so you wouldn't be here bored of your mind.

After those two days had pass, mid day you had entered Kingslanding. Alongside with your father who rode the horse outside the carriage.

You sigh, seeing all the people from there, they either dress up nice or poorly. You saw literal shit on the ground "ew" you shook your head closing the blinds until you got there.

The doors open, revealing the dirt floor. You got out looking around the area, it looked sad. Sighing as your father made his way by your side, you had your sunflower crown on your head.

"Take that dirt off you" your father grumbled, taking off the flower crown himself and dropping it on the floor. "You are a lady, not a wild woman" deep down your father wanted best for you, you didn't see it only a old grumpy man trying to suck on the Targaryens asses.

You stayed silent, as you both walk into the castle into the throne room where you shall meet your future husband.

The big doors opened soon your name was heard "The House L/n have arrived along side Leo L/ns and his daughter Y/n L/n" you continued to follow your father. You glance around seeing two boys and a girl along side their mother, and their father at the throne.

"King Viserys, it's an honor" your father bowed, you followed behind. You didn't make eye contact with no one in the room, since they felt intimidating to you.

"I see, your daughter is lovely for my son Aemond" the king said, your father brought you infront of him. So they can see a clear view of you. Two fingers brought your head up, looking up at the queen Alicent, She scan your face looking up and down. She seem pleased "you are truly beautiful" she said a plaster smile form on her face.

You nodding giving her a small smile "thank you my queen" only where she could hear.

"We shall held a dinner, you both must be tired" Viserys said, trying to stand up but couldn't. You almost felt bad for the king but his time was soon to be over. Alicent showed you to your chamber where you would be staying until you're wedd.

"You would be perfect for my son, I just know it" she mumble to you, Alicent had been close to you ever since you arrived to Kingslanding.

She did your hair, dressed you up in the colour green. Your hair is up, close to hers up half of the hair is down. "You look beautiful" she smiled at you, you looked different from yourself she was making you fit in too quickly. She told you about her son Aemond different from what you heard from the maids.

"Y/n...are you maiden" she whispered only for the both of you to hear. You were surprised is she tried to tell you something? You only shook your head 'no' from her answer.

She smiled once more before patting your shoulders "I'm glad" you would've felt judge if you told her you weren't? You were supposed to be a lady, not a whore.

Following queen Alicent to the dining room, "you would love my son, he's a gentleman trust me" she spoke of Aemond as if he was quiet and gentle.

"You would sit next to him, understand?" She looked at you. You gave her a nod understanding her words "you don't speak much do you?" She mumble holding your hand close to hers.

"Sorry...I'm not use to this new step in life" you said lowly not trying to raise your voice, she looked at you closely until she nodded.

You sat next to Aemond, who looked at you non-stop there were times where he'll look away when you caught his eyes on you. During dinner you gotten close with Helaena, you two seem to taken an interest in insects or nature as such. "Have you seen a dragon fly?" She looked at you confused, she glance at Aemond who was also confused in hearing the conversation.

"What's that?" That's when you got embarrassed, she didn't know a dragonfly? Right they live in a desert. You chuckle taking a sip of your wine before explaining to her what the insects was.

"It's a insect that has wings but very big eyes" you passed her a small smile.

"Do they come in different colours?" She asked, you nodded. That where she started to ask you more about them. Alicent notice how her daughter become more comfortable around you, she was pleased with it.

"So, how do you think she'll be in bed?" Aegon asked his younger brother, Aemond didn't pay no attention to his idiot brother.

"Come on, she going to be your to be wife soon" he mumble, drinking his wine. Aemond looked to his side, seeing you smiling and joking around with Helaena, he did not understand the jokes you told but Helaena did somehow.

"She seems odd" he mumble to his older brother, Aegon looked at her then at his brother.

"I would think she beautiful having my children tonight" Aemond glared at his brother shaking his head.

"You will do no such thing" he seer lowly making sure no one heard their conversation.

Aegon just smirked to his brother, "Y/n, I see that you took a liking to my daughter Helaena" Alicent said, getting everyone attention to you. You didn't needed the attention on you but you could tell by the way she looked at you she ment no harm.

"Yes, my queen...she and I have many common things" you said a bit louder then usual since she was across the table from you.

You started to close your hands together tightly, looking down. You could feel your father eyes burning into your skull.

"Thank you for having me" you have a smile to her, she return one as well. You felt cold hand on yours, looking down seeing it was your soon to be husband hand on yours.

You looking up at him, he looked serious wasn't paying no attention to you as he ate his meal. You felt a great comfort in his touch, you wanted to warm his hand so you close yours in between his hand giving them the warmth they deserve.

You grew close to Aemond during the passing days close to your wedding.

Today he didn't have anything to do and decided to find you near the Weirwood tree, where you read your book on learning High valyrian since Aemond said it would be a great way to communicate to each other.

He found you and sat close to you, "Hello lady Y/n" his voice was quiet not trying to scare you but it failed, you stiff and turn to him.

The stiffness left once you realize it was him, "My prince" you bow your head lightly.

"Hows the self teaching going" he asked, both your knees touched, your shoulder touched each other.

"It's okay, I'm still figuring out a couple more" you mumble, the shyness never once left. Of course you and Aemond gotten close but you realize how much his mother was right about him being sweet and caring.

"Interesting, say a couple words for me" he said, waiting for you to say some high valyrian words.

"Um...okay, ābrar¹" you said looking at the prince if you said the word right, in which you did.

"Not bad for a beginner, what else?" He wanted more, to hear your voice. It was music to his ears making you want to speak his language.

You thought of something to say before you said anything "Se ri...riñnykeā ropatas²" you struggle a bit but ended getting the hang of it.

Aemond gave you a around of applause for how much you gone this far learning his birth language.

"Wonderful, my dear wife" he mumble, looking at you with the most kindest smile you seen before. It took you by surprise that he called you his wife, already.

It made you smile, you thank him as the both of you took a walk around the castle with his arm warped around yours.

Maybe marry a Targaryen isn't as had as you thought.

Ler: Jax

Summary: Pomni is still getting used to the circus, anxious and uneasy in the new environment. Jax tries to help out, though he does it in his own annoying way.

Warnings: none! This is a tickle fic, so if you don’t like that, scroll away!!

In the circus tent, small NPCs ran wild, knocking things over and babbling nonsense. They were like the Gloinks, but so much worse. Caine had dipped on them once again, leaving the characters to fend for themselves. Zooble peaced out, but the others were stuck with them.

It took nearly the whole day, but they had managed to contain the little monsters until Caine came back to woosh them away. For most of the characters, it was weirdly routine. For the newest arrival, however, it was more than off-putting. Pomni just felt…out of place in the digital world. She wandered around the tent, trying to calm herself down.

Jax was walking around, trying to find something to do. He would have messed with Ragatha, but her and Gangle were having some kind of “girl’s day.” Ugh…he wanted no part of it. 

Just as he was considering going to explore the forbidden rooms, he heard the faint jingling of bells. Pomni must’ve been “exploring” the grounds again. While she wasn’t his usual target, the jester would probably keep him entertained until something else happened.

The smug and confident smirk he always wore shrank as he approached her. Pomni looked so…so tired. Tired and way too wound up. Still, he sauntered over, trying to gauge just how upset she was. “Hey, newbie. You sane after that horror show?”

Pomni flinched at his voice, taking a second to register what he said; she’d been spacing out for most of the day. “U-uhm…yes? Why?”

He rolled his eyes, trying to act as aloof as possible. “Really? ‘S just that ya look like you’re about to fall apart. Hey, you think that’s possible here?” Jax cared about how she was doing, but he had an image and a rep in the circus. No way he was jeopardizing that.

“Shut up, Jax…” She turned away from him, rubbing her arm and looking down. The girl felt crummy enough; she didn’t have the energy to deal with his junk. 

He chuckled, leaning down and getting eye-level with her. Jax was bored, yes, but he didn’t want to see Pomni so down. Might as well try and cheer her up. “Aww, c’mon Pom-Pom! Try a smile; it won’t kill ya!” He reached out, trying to poke her side in an attempt to get her to smile. Before he could even get close to her blue side, she gasped softly and jerked away from his hand. Oh…that’ll work.

The look on his face was a dead giveaway to his plan. “Jax, no! I swear, don’t you even think abo-KYAH!” Pomni was cut off by a sharp poke to her stomach, whatever she was trying to say lost in a squeal.

“Oh, I’m doin’ more than think about it~” Jax’s voice was smug as ever, his gloved hands wrapping around her middle and wiggling them into her sides. The bunny crouched down, just so he could whisper in her ear. “Tickle tickle, Pomni~”

Squeaky and bright giggles bubbled out of her, only making Jax’s smirk grow. Pomni was much less amused, kicking and wriggling around in his grip. “Y-youhuhu prihick! Gehet ohoff mehehe!”

“Nah, don’t think I will.” One fun thing the purple rabbit noticed; Pomni was blushing. Really blushing, so brightly that it put the circles already on her cheeks to shame. So, of course, he called her out on it.

“Wow, I didn’t know you could blush like that, newbie!” He cooed, making sure to poke up and down her ribs as he spoke. “Thought bright red was crybaby’s thing, but you go girl~” 

“Sh-shuhut uhuhuhup!” The bells on Pomni’s hat jingled with every sharp jolt and tug, only making the scene funnier. Jax was thoroughly enjoying himself; he had maintained his vibe while also making Pomni smile. True, he was being a bitch about it, but it was working.

Wanting to try something else, Jax clamped both hands firmly on her sides, giving them a nice squeeze. Nothing could’ve readied him for what happened next. “Jahahax! Wouhuld you- *squeak*” 

Suddenly, his hands stopped moving, giving her a quick breather as the shock and amusement set in. After a few seconds, a loud bark of laughter escaped him, his voice more playful than it had been the whole time. “No *sproing*-ing way… You squeak?!” 

Without any further warning, he dug into her sides, rapidly squeezing them in the hopes of more squeaks. “J- *squeak* COHOHohome ohon! Quihihit- *squeak* JAHAX!” The sound was almost like a dog toy’s squeaker; it endlessly amused Jax, leaving the rabbit wanting more and more of the adorable sound.

“This has gotta be my favorite quirk of yours, squeaky-toy!” He squeezed and poked along her sides, sneaking a quick rib scribble in every few seconds. Best day ever…

“P-PLEHEHE- *squeak* NOHO! JAHAX!” While he was more than enjoying the squeaks and laughter, he could tell Pomni was wearing out. Not wanting to potentially get on Ragatha’s very-bad side, he stopped squeezing the jester. “Alright, alright, no more squeezes. That was fun, though~”

Pomni went almost limp in his arms, trying to catch her breath. She looked up at him expectantly, expecting to be released. Jax only laughed at her expression. “Oh, newbie, no. I never said I was done~” The ever-growing blush on her cheeks made him smile wider, his almost haughty confidence growing.

He tested out her neck, smirking at the surprised giggles he received. “You’re just a walking tickle-spot, aren’t ya? There anywhere you ain’t ticklish?” Deciding to be a bit merciful, he kept the tickling to light scratches, exploring the area. 

Much to his surprise, Pomni’s giggles softened, her body going almost slack against his. Jax wondered if he’d managed to kill her for a second, but he soon realized that she was just…enjoying it. Pomni wasn’t trying to push at his hands anymore; she just grabbed his wrists and loosely hung on.

“Aww, Pomni! You like this, don’t ya~?” He continued lightly tickling underneath her chin and the front of her neck, basking in the lazy giggles and lax squeals he got. Jax had no idea how someone could practically melt from getting tickled, but he wasn’t gonna question it. 

“Ihihihi- shuhuhut ihit…” Pomni could’ve had a better response, but she was too comfy to try. While he was still tickling her, it felt much more relaxing and nice in that spot. She could’ve stayed there all day…

Quickly realizing the jester was about to fall asleep on him, Jax stopped and patted her back. Pomni took a few shaky breaths, residual giggles still squeaking out in her daze. The bunny boy just chuckled, trying to help her wake up, in a sense. “You’re good, I’m done, wakey-wakey.”

Pomni was tired, though, and feeling like mild revenge. She just leaned into the purple boy, closing her eyes and letting the sleepy relaxation take over; girl was out in seconds. 

“...Pomni?” Jax’s smirk slowly fell, his brow-area bunching. She hadn’t moved in a few seconds, though he could see her breathing. Did she… That little-

Seeing her asleep on him felt strangely similar to a kitten napping there. It felt wrong to move… “*boing* it…”

Pidge- Fluff Alphabet 💌

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Pidge is affectionate when she wants to be. Sometimes she’s a bit shy about it and prefers to show you affection in private. Pidge is simple and sweet, she enjoys soft quick kisses and linking pinkies and winking at each other from across the table during breakfast when the rest of the team isn’t paying attention (except for that one time Lance noticed YOU wink at Pidge and she blushed super red and Lance wouldn’t leave her alone about it for the next week).

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Honestly, I think Pidge would be a good best friend besides being a bit blunt and totally honest. Some might find the green Paladin a little intimidating and condescending but she doesn’t mean to be, she’s just really freaking smart and she’s not afraid to speak her truth. She’s so smart that it makes most people feel really stupid even talking to her. But with you…she goes slow and tries her best to be patient and teach you along the way. Idk there’s just something about you ✨

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Yesssss she really likes cuddles when she’s upset or frustrated or crying. She likes cuddles after a bad dream or after a really risky mission. BUT as soon as she drifts off fully into sleep, gorl starts doing martial arts in bed. Fully expect to be kicked, slapped, punched and fully laid on by Pidge. She’s a bit wild but she’s easy to wake. When she is cuddling, she likes to be the little spoon or be face to face with your foreheads resting about each other’s.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

I’d imagine Pidge has no intention of settling down with anyone until she truly feels deep in her heart that she’s met ‘the one’. She’ll try dating but she won’t commit until she knows you well enough and has time to decide how she feels and time to imagine her future with that person. Also, girl is the opposite of wifey material- can’t cook, messy asf, grumpy in the mornings but it’s all worth it. She has her moments~

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

I think Pidge would be very straight forward about it but also try her best to be kind and gentle. She wouldn’t want to do it over the phone, she’d have the guts to sit you down and tell you to your face how she feels.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Sorta the same answer as ‘Domestic’ ⬆️, she wouldn’t be careless and rush into anything with someone she isn’t sure about. She could see herself getting married one day but doesn’t really consider it a top priority, ya feel me?

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

I mean…she’s a tiny Aries who knows she’s smarter than everyone in the room at all times…she’s kind of a lot sometimes. She can be emotionally chaotic sometimes, she often grabs attention from others without even meaning to and it can feel a bit overwhelming at first but the more you get to know her, the more you come to adore her intelligence and it warms your heart when she shares her knowledge with others and her bravery every time she speaks up for herself in a crowd and her stubbornness really starts to grow on you. She’s physically about the same lmaoooooo like…with most people she’s very out there, extroverted and loud and she doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty or getting in to trouble in order to get a job done. She works hard AND plays hard, she’s a goofball. But with her s/o, she’s much softer and calmer and speaks quieter and moves just a bit slower and with more caution. She just really loves you 💚

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

NEVER hugs you in front of others unless like one of you almost died on a mission or you’ll be apart for a long time. Most hugs are done late at night while you’re falling asleep and Pidge is working way past bedtime, also mid day when the rest of the team is dispersed throughout the castle and doing their own thing, knowing that she has a low risk of being caught at this time she’ll come find you and give you a long, snuggly hug without saying a word and then run off back to her work.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

It’ll take a long while tbh…Pidge is pretty shy and inexperienced with relationships and lovey dovey feelings. She’ll probably wait until you say it first. Once you say it her tho, it comes out of her in a sigh of relief. It gets easier for her after the first time but she’s still getting used to it.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

I don’t think Pidge is really the jealous type. Even if someone was actively flirting with you, she wouldn’t be so much jealous as she would be concerned…like she could care less if someone is just genuinely flirting with you but what if they have some devilish motive and they’re working for the galra and they’re gonna kidnap you and hold you hostage and- she needs to come intervene before she starts fully panicking. She’ll just come join you in a silent and nonchalant way like coming up and holding your hand. She’s not trying to butt in and be nosy, she just wants to make sure you’re safe and also make you feel safe, protected and supported. She’s not jealous, she just cares very deeply for you.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Her kisses are awkward, sweet, sometimes silly and interrupted by soft giggles. She likes to kiss your lips but she LOVES kissing your cheeks and nose, she thinks you’re just soooo cute and she likes the look on your face after she kisses you there. She likes forehead kisses most bc they make her feel warm and relaxed and content. Forehead kisses really make her want to cry (in a good way)

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Mmmm she tries her best to be energetic with kids but she’s honestly so awkward. Regardless, kids ADORE HERRRRRR. Pidge has so much cool shit to say, she mesmerizes kids so easily with her science and space rambles.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Pidge stays up working and coding until like 3 am every night and then sleeps in until at least 10am if you let her, so most mornings are spent trying to drag Pidge out of bed as she groans in protest. It’s okay tho, her bed head is so cute and she won’t even open her eyes yet but you can’t stop smiling bc she’s cute even when she’s sleepy and grumpy. Once she’s got her eyes open and is sitting up, she’ll always mumble a raspy “morning” to you.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Unless you’re a night owl as well, you’ll probably be asleep before Pidge. She’ll always welcome your company while she’s working and will let you slump against her or lay your head in her lap and sleep. Most of the time, she gently wakes you and you sleepily walk to your room together but sometimes, she falls asleep right beside her work and cuddled up to you and someone ends up finding y’all in the morning like 🥹💖🥰

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

I think she would open up rather quickly. I think Pidge has a pretty good sense of who she can trust and if she trusts you enough to be your s/o, she trusts you a lot. She would confide in you often along with Shiro I’m sure.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

It depends…certain things tick Pidge off a bit but she can shrug it off. Other certain things make her want to explode. Lance makes a short joke, annoying but whatever. She accidentally codes something wrong and has to start all over, watch out, she’s seconds away from throwing something across the room as hard as she can.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Pidge forgets NOTHING!!! This girl has a spectacular memory, she remembers everything you tell her and is very considerate with that info. She’s the type to remember your fears and try her best to shield you from that, she’ll remember hits favorite color and get you everything that color, she’ll remember your birthday no matter what. And she loves learning new things about you too.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

Probably your first physical embrace. You weren’t officially dating yet but you could both feel the pining going on between you. She had been roughed up and tossed around by some galra on a mission one time and when she got back to the castle, you were the first one to greet her with a gentle hug and a worried expression on your face. She’ll never forget how soft your hands felt as they caressed her dirty face. That was the first time you’d ever shown her any kind of true intimacy and she got a glimpse of your feelings for her.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

She is extremely protective but she tries to give you space. She worries about you constantly but it’s not that she doesn’t trust you or doesn’t believe in you, she just knows first hand how brutal this war can be and she doesn’t want to lose you. Of course, she always insists you two stick together on any and all missions you attend bc she knows you have her back and she always has yours.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

She tries her best! She’s not great at surprises tho, she always tells you what the gift is or what the date is bc she has to make sure you want that first, she can’t just do it and risk you having a bad time. She does listen to you and takes every little detail into consideration. She often does simple things like complimenting you and offering you small bits of physical affection. For special occasions like an anniversary, she likes to ask you what you would want/ want to do and then she’ll try to make it exceed your expectations.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

I've been hearing a lot of "gen alpha can't read cause they're iPad kids."

But like are we asking them what they *can* do?

Or how *they're* feeling even?

I distinctly remember adults when I was a kid saying we'd all be "brain dead" because of tv or texting or the Internet or some shit. And we couldn't defend ourselves cause we were literally children.

It's like this every time.

And every time each generation has to prove they're worthy of adulthood.

And this gen isn't even all in middle school yet and y'all are calling them failures right in front of their faces. It's not ganna help. If anything it'll make this much much worse.

I'm a Gen Z (well I'm in the transitional area between millennial and Z but most millennials tell me I'm gen z so fine.) I have gen alpha kids. And a lot of them (classmates and the like) are anxious asf about the world.

I wonder if they're putting up a tough front to keep the only control they have in the world as children.

Or living free before they have to become the overworked adults they see in their lives.

Or ya know death by school shootings if they're in America.

Or idk die from a once in a century plague cause their parents won't let them get vaccinated.

Or maybe it's something we could never describe or understand since we're not in that position.

Honestly every commentator I've seen on this topic hasn't asked a child how they literally feel. Like you don't have to put them on camera obviously (maybe don't actually for their safety) but like just ask? Or find ways to ask, kids can be shy about their true feelings sometimes. Especially if we keep pretending like we know them.

Teachers are over worked, parents are over worked. But haven't they always been? (Maybe we should actually do something about that? Like a lot have already been saying, but like actually do it? Maybe baby sit your friend's kid or go to the grocery store with them to help chaperone them? And try and do it for them for free, I get it if you can't but those who can should. I'm also not saying your should steal baby supplies, I'd never say that, I'd also never say to just steal food and hand them out, or to steal teaching and school supplies and just give em away or anything of course not! And I wish I could put the proper tone marks on this but for legal purposes I am being sarcastic.)

And doesn't each generation come with more problems or perceived problems because that's life? We're always going to find something wrong with the younger generation, we're constantly evolving and we're constantly looking for ways how.

Last thing.

What is intelligence?

Is it *really* being able to read?

Is it *really* scoring high on tests for studies?

Didn't we *just* talk about how standardised tests are wild and are often not very good at displaying what kids can actually do? Or are often hard to grade because of lack of staffing? Something something Pearson? Something something my history text book was older than me something something "Bill Clinton the president everyone is looking forward to!" Written on the back page Something something coming home to see late night TV making jokes about his shitty behaviour but making it more about the person who was literally harmed by this and making fun of her well into the 2000s..... (Oh has our education system and environment for kids always been kinda shitty? No way almost like it's a never ending battle.)

the weather is lowkey getting cold and it inspired me to write headcanons about winter with changbin

ok so changbin runs hot

literally there's no doubt of it he literally has a coat of muscle on him as well as the winter clothes yall stuff each other in

he's a furnace. in the mornings, you'll wake up from being cuddled into his side all night and you will be sweating

but you don't care, he's comfy asf and you couldn't move away if you wanted to anyway - his arm is tucked around your waist, holding you close to him even in his sleep

at night, you'll basically tie yourselves together with how tight the blankets are around you

if your cold foot happens to brush his leg sometimes you do it on purpose just to fuck with him he will screech like a possessed man

when you say you're cold, he will a hundred percent give you his hoodies and his sweats, claiming that they're warmer than your own clothes because he loves seeing you bundled up in them, your hands in little sweater paws

one winter day, he'll walk in on you hunched over your dwaekki

'Babe, what are you doing?'

'I'm just making sure he won't get cold.'

He's about to ask what you mean, but then you hold up dwaekki, wearing a matching hat and scarf, and he actually dies a little bit because you're too cute

if you go out to a fancy dinner he can and will give you his suit jacket and if you don't want it he will pout until you take it from him

on that note, if you're out in public and stick your hands under his shirt to warm them he will make a massive fuss but loves that shit

he'll complain when you do it at home as well but gives in way faster, which is how you know he secretly likes it

for some reason he strikes me as the type who is amazing at making hot chocolate

he has a formula for his hot chocolate, idk what it is but he has a technique and he'd rather die than not stick to it

when you get back from work, shaking off the rain or snow from your umbrella as you tug off your shoes, he'll race to the door, press a kiss to your forehead and help you out of your coat and hang it up

once he's done that, there's no stopping him, he's rushing to the kitchen to whip up a hot chocolate for you

he can't help it, the praise you lay on him for his legendary hot chocolate makes him glow

don't accept any other food/drink from him, though, it probably won't be edible

in winter, both of you get cuteness aggression overload because seeing each other wrapped up in blankets with your little faces peeking out just does something to both of you

like... just imagine walking into the living room and there's just a wild changbin there, the blanket covering him up to his half open, sleepy eyes, his wide, muscled shoulders completely swamped with the blankets as he watches the TV

when he hears you come in, he'll look up and although the lower half of his face is covered, you see him light up with a smile as he lifts the blankets a little, a silent offer for you to join him

oh, but, when the snow comes, you're a goner

changbin is normally pretty gentle when he throws snow balls at you but the rest of stray kids are not playing, especially lee know and seungmin

if changbin slips in the snow, you give him no mercy, laughing so hard you fall down, and vice versa if you laugh to hard, though, he'll stagger to his feet and take you down with him

however, you and changbin also do cute coupley things in the snow like make snow angels side by side together

speaking of angels, changbin in the snow is actually angellic tho like he's got this adorable flush across his cheeks and nose and his eyes are constantly glittering with laughter at your antics with the rest of stray kids

he'll come up behind you and will not let go for the world, sticking his cold nose into your cheeks and drinking in your little noises of protest

then he'll pick you up and spin you around before chucking you into a nearby pile of snow he'd prepared just for you

all in all, winter with changbin is THE BEST

No words on the History of Monty Oum and RT history.

I mean it pretty much all checks out

Though immediately admitting your bias against the show takes the validity of some of your criticisms away ngl.

So he loves the Red Trailer but brings up the views it gained and then brings up the views of the episodes (Vol 1 ep 1 and 2) as a sort of gotcha like “oh see the trailer is more popular than the episode like look at the 15M to (episode 2) 6.8M ratio!!!”

Really wish he prefaced his complaints about the voice acting and writing that he understood that the studio itself was amateurish and small with not a lot of budget to work with. (Unless that’s true) not that there isn’t criticism but that- There are TANGIBLE reasons why it’s the way that it is.

Where Do We Even Start?

Uhhh they never dropped the Dust Theft plot line????

Volume 2 was literally the culmination of the dust theft and the reason is because of Cinder’s plans.

Another thing that’s in your face but just, weirdly you gloss over???

Quite literally, the intro talks about things that weren’t even revealed until Vol 4 to 9. The intro is good and sets up what it NEEDS-

Like sure you can say “oh but it’s only added till later when they got the story that they wanted to tell straight”

Mate, a pro tip for a lot of writers renowned/acclaimed have admitted that some of their works or some of their best writing decisions were made by the seat- Of their pants.

You think Naruto, one of the most iconic and popular anime of all time would have spun into how it is just off the intro of the first episode?

What about Bleach?

ATLA?

One Piece???

There are so many instances where the intro just isn’t all encompassing bc- That just isn’t how story writing goes.

You can have the best most rigid outline in the whole world, but at times you’re gonna go off script because there’s something you want to expand upon more or explore.

Ends off this segment by saying that RWBY’s story is interesting and it has neat ideas (backahandedly by adding “to write a wiki about”) but the storytelling only gets worse.

Which, I sort of disagree with???

It’s not stellar by any means, but I chalk that up with them- Not having the sort of resources available.

However from what they managed TO put together it was coherent enough to convey what they were meaning to portray.

Though I do have my gripes with certain aspects of the first two volumes.

But from V3 on? It’s only gotten- Stronger.

Yes I harp on V5 a LOT and it’s still one of the weaker volumes, but the conversations and character dynamics where stronger than they’ve been.

It was mainly the animation in the last few episodes of the giant fight that I just, wasn’t vibing with at all.

Worldbuilding and Conveyance

So next he talks about how aura was explained.

Bringing up both Harry Potter and ATLA and how they tell it as an example.

Following it up by making a rwby edit to make it seem as if it was mundane and boring.

Which isnt the case at all.

If you- Actually take the time to watch the scene.

It's about 1:20 long and while the explanation of what Aura does is being told to the viewer, it shows Ren taking down the King Taijitu with his aura.

It's another valid form of story telling because it's not just two characters talking on screen.

it's also giving us an insight of how it would be put into action.

"No one just happens to have full on speeches prepared in case anyone is to ask"

Uhhh, have you met Weiss?

Even the examples you gave literally is Hermione and Katara.

Idk, how does Naruto not know about Chakra despite 8 years as a academy student.

He probably just skipped out on it or didn't take it seriously enough.

He never went to- A prep school like Signal either.

His transcripts were faked, so you could easily say he went to Beacon with nothing more than a Dime, A old Rickety sword and a dream lol.

Also Pyrrha is super smart and also a really great battle tactician.

Of course she would be able to- recite what Aura does word for word.

It's not mischaracterization.

You just want to twist that narrative against her.

And not just that, I feel a strong mischaracterization of Jaune.

If Jaune is played off as an idiot for jokes, that's cool. But if he's shown to just not- Understand or doesn't know about the world at large, then that could hint at the fact that Jaune is more than just an idiot.

He's probably born in the sticks/boonies.

A country bumpkin if you will where Hunters aren't all that well known nor pop culture.

It doesn't dumb down the other characters.

Because Weiss is frustrated herself that someone so famous isn't recognizable by anyone and everyone in the world.

Same thing with her and the SDC

Well he brings up the Jaundice thing and yeah that's fair, a lot of people have gripes with that (i'm not one of them) and brings up how Pyrrha is only really a character for Jaune's development as a fighter and romance option but not much else on her own.

Which... Yeah I kinda- get that too.

Like, I liked Pyrrha too, but I do wish she had more to do in V1 and 2.

But in V3 is where she shines.

Hell there were so many people who did cry and got shocked by the end of Vol 3 even with the amount of screentime she gets.

"Praise RWBY for being feminist and progessive cause most of the mcs are women... But Jaune has 4 episodes dedicated to him, and has the coolest girl in school flirting and helping him become a stronger warrior."

Jaune isn't the main character.

How I've always viewed RWBY and JNPR has always been: RWBY as the protagonist and JNPR as the deuteragonist.

They hold about the same amount of importance because of how close their teams are.

So of course you're going to want to give the deuteragonist development and screentime to.

And yes Jaune had Jaundice.

RWBY still has an ABSURD amount of episodes dedicated to them as well so the balance/ration will always be in RWBY's favor regardless of how you feel about Jaune as a character and Jaune's importance to the story.

Same goes for the rest of NPR

"The writer's dont know what Yang's semblance is.

It goes from her being angry, to it being her taking hits and she transfers that energy back to them by hitting them again, and then temper tantrums, and then re-xeplain it as a redirection of energy stored from hits."-

Uhh, no.

Her semblance has always been about redirection of stored energy from attacks and aiming them back at the opponent.

Every single time we see her use it, it's always after she's taken several hits.

It's probably still possible to use it without taking hits, but its more than- likely less powerful.

He goes on to talk about how semblances are abstract and only gets mentioned 14 episodes later.

Which sure ok, but the gist of them and how they work are still easily within the story.

Could they have expanded upon it more earlier on? Yeah they could.

But to sit there and say, "When Pyrrha used her abilities and Ruby and Weiss look at her like she was weird and surprised and confused she has powers too"

no no no no no, that is grossly misreading the scene.

Pyrrha has kept her semblance a secret from anyone and everyone.

No one knows what it is or if she even had one.

They were just confused by what she did, why her hand glowed black, and why her hand was out.

It had nothing to do with them being confused about why someone else had a semblance, but more so they never knew what Pyrrha's was.

and also, the reading of Semblance = magic is both meh and eh.

Like if you looked at any and every single semblance that exists in RWBY, every single one of them have to do with concepts that has nothing to do with earth, wind, fire, and water.

Whereas Magic in the series- has Maidens throwing storms, lightning bolts, fire, ice, etc. at any enemy they choose.

That's the major difference between magic and semblance.

Magic is divine, naturalistic. Semblances are more man made if that makes sense.

Man he really does not like how semblances are portrayed/exposited.

Like it's been just as long as he harped on for Pyrrha expositing the aura scene.

It's not a semi complicated concept at all, like he said it was.

It's very easy to follow and very easy to understand. he brings up Emerald and Cinder knowing about it, but doesn't bring up the fact that Pyrrha had to have put it in her application for Beacon or her personal- record that only Beacon has track of.

A record that they broke into with the helps of Watts, but not just that.

But Mercury also figured it out because he's an intelligent fighter just like Pyrrha is.

You can just say that Pyrrha's opponents were all just dumb for not figuring it out.

But no, it's just bad writing I guess.

Brings up WoR as an example of not being able to tell the story completely and labels it as homework.

It's not necessarily out of the norm though.

There are lots of character guides, extra material that expands on characters, worlds-

nd ideas that you can't really put the time in the show to do.

Like let's look at the first 3 volumes and how most episodes where 12-15 minutes long.

And even then they were still trying to get the hang of writing for something so massive as RWBY.

Having extra material so readers can get a better understanding of the world around them isn't bad. because even then, most everyone knows who Faunus are.

How Aura works, what a semblance is. all of these on a surface level.

If you want to dig deep, thats what WoR is for.

Unless you just wanna insult the show and embrace ignorance?

Some Positive Examples

Such a nothing complaint really. 

Just Miles and Kerry's writing vs Monty's character acting (in terms of how he conveys the four in a team fight (example being Team RWBY vs Mecha Roman)). 

I mean, I dont know what to really say here.

"The writers are so busy writing drama and wacky skits to explain why they're friends while Monty is putting in the REAL work with the fight scenes and showing how close they are and how far ruby has come at becoming a leader."  

Yeah... Cause that's what writers and animators do

Briefly touches on Ships and how Monty, Kerry, and Miles referenced them in the fight. (also decided to call it creepy since Ruby is 15 and the other girls are 17...

Which isn't that bad??

Like Sophomore and Senior in High School really).

Wasn't Ichigo Kurosaki 15 and Naruto not even 13?

Also says they didn't make a name- for Ruby and Yang because of the certain fans that ship those two together so they avoided that one altogether

I can't seem to see his point of bringing this up because on one hand it feels like he's admonishing them for it, but  on the other hand he seems... like he's a little upset that they dont have a team attack name?

Maybe just at the inconsistency of it. Which i can understand.

I would have maybe came up with one that isn't fandom made so they can have a cool SISTERS team attack, like Rose Dragon!

Ends off this segment talking about more Miles and Kerry vs Monty (with Shawn being added in).

Another example of writing vs character expositing through animation by using the Pyrrha vs Mercury fight as well as the exposition between Emerald, Cinder, and Mercury.

Lots of talk about animation being weird and how he's seen worse animation but the stories were good enough to overlook it.

I'd be a broken record by stating this again and again.

But just look at what they had to work with. Look at how divided the writing and the animation- really were with Monty coming up with new characters that the team had to shove in last minute.

Look at Poser even and how the engine was something really only Monty and Shane (oops I made a mistake in that other post) could work to the level that they did.

Look at RT and even CRWBY at the time.

And now look where they are now.

You can't tell me that they've gone downhill when most of your gripes that you've complained about are/have been fixed in the later seasons.

hi guys i am so sorry for totally ghosting :/ i know that's the worst feeling with a fic you love and i'm so so sorry. i'm gonna be so straight up, i have had a WILD life from even before i started this fic up until right now - and although things are finally starting to take shape and calm down to say the least, i lost a lot of myself during that time. i grew in many ways as well, but i think there's just been a lot that happened to me over the past year or so that held me back from goals i have or the type of person i wanna become or whatever, and without going into detail, i cannot lie alot of it has been really really hard. i definitely used writing as an escape/coping mechanism of some sort for the negative feelings i was experiencing - and that can be super helpful for real plus i've BEEN in therapy lol, but i also still found myself retreating away from parts of my life that would have been good for me and my growth to pursue, and i can't be doing that anymore. as much as i fell in love with writing all this for you guys, it ended up taking up a lot of space in my mind as more of a distraction from my own setbacks and issues instead of being something wholly good for me, if that makes sense. unfortunately - THE MOST PAINFUL MIC DROP iamsosososorry - that distraction has had to end. some lowkey rock bottom moments forced me to take a better look at my life for what it really is AND for what i want it to be, and at this time i do need to step back from the false life i created in this story and step back into my real one. not that i was like living in my bedroom on my laptop or nothin LMAO i'm just sayin there have been some things i know now i can't continue with in the same way that i did before, in terms of what i spend my time and energy on. i can't say for sure that i'll never be back but i don't wanna be making any promises i can't keep. I can't stop reading it. it's made me finally look into international relations, which was a subject I always wanted to do at uni... but just didn't want to do the debating side of it lmao (and also bc I was thinking of doing it if I'd applied for that cadetship at my local uni.... which I didn't lmao). I'm reading my old intro to philosophy textbook- philosophy for everyone (ebook).... which I completely and utterly ignored during undergrad on purpose.

just yeah. at least im reading again. and finally using my brain. im not using my phone for like at least an hour or two (2) at a time, when I really get into the groove of reading. it's wild tbh. but I will really have to train my brain not to re-read and re-read and re-read, ad infintum, one or two sentences on a page; whilst trying to read philosophy texts like on liberty (like im attempting rn lmao). bc that's exactly how I gave up on all of my philosophy readings in the first place..... bc having to re-read a sentence like 3 times made me feel stupid asf.

yeah. im just here to say. for the love of god. pick up a print book every once in a while. or hell, even an e-book through your local library's e-book app (eg, libby/overdrive or borrowbox). or if you have one, your kindle (that's where some of my international relations stuff is and my old philosophy textbook) or other e-reader. and yeah I know. once I get a job (lmao the job markets shit) I won't be raving like this, about wanting to read anything other than an audiobook on the way to and from work everyday. I'll end up back in the loop of nothing but fb watch etc. I will be the last person to join, if at all, the company's book-club. I didn't even join the short lived one at my old work.

He looked tired enough himself. Even exhausted as you were you realised that he’d had just as hard a day as you had, no matter how many meetings less. You wanted to pull him close, kiss him gently, whisper loving words into his ear and make sure he was well, but you could barely get yourself to part your lips.

“I’m right here”, he whispered, putting an arm around you. “And I will never leave you alone.” You felt his warmth immediately, the safety and love he presented you with through just an embrace - and as much as you wanted to lift your head and look at him and talk and talk and talk about everything and nothing, you simply shuffled closer, rested your forehead against his chest and finally closed your eyes again. 

“I’m tired, Thorin”, you muttered, already drifting off to sleep again. Your words were barely more than breaths as you were taken away into dreams. He brushed a kiss to the top of your head and pulled you closer. “I’m so tired...”

- If I said boxing or any vigorous activity would be tooo damn obvious. Sooooo I slept on it, and vi definitely collected and trained bugs (yes i said trained)

- I mean look at her and tell me she wasn't the type of kid to have some random bug on them

- Ik it sounds gross asf but hear me out.

-In Zaun there isn't much to do to pass the time that won't result in you running for your lives. Soooo the kids of the Undercity held underground ✨bug fights✨ (kinda like dog fights but for bugs)

- Here you brought your best bug didn't matter the species and you made them battle till someone was eaten or turned over

- Vi was the undefeated champion since she snagged herself a stag beatle, who she named Caesar.

- Caesar was a big boi soo was no surprise he became the undefeated champion of the bug fights

- She loved tf outta that bug. So much so that when Caesar sadly passed away, Vi was devastated. They held a funeral procession at the back of the Last drop. Everyone gave a eulogy and paid their respects (No one really cared bout the damn bug they just wanted to make Vi happy)

- It took Vi 3 months to recover. During those 3 months Vander had to help her do the basic tasks of life like eating and showering

- She thinks of him every now and then when she goes collecting. She collects for fun. She finds them, admires them, tries to guess the bug and takes a pic or two. No more bug fights for her, plus it wouldn't feel the sameeeee

- Miss Sevika can sewwwww (I prolly saw this from some other creators blog posts yet sadly I can’t remember who they were s but yea she definitely sews)

- Embroider, patch up or make a whole as dress, she can do it allll

- I see her developing this skill as a means of survival. In Zaun, clothes ain't cheap. Sooo it's best to keep the ones you have now for as longggg as you can

- Later on in life, when she began working for Silco, she suddenly could afford more clothes than she needed

- Being one to be stuck in her ways, she still prefers to repair or make her own clothes cuz, one it helps her relax and 2. her body portions like her arms and thighs makes it hard to find clothes that fit her well and still her enough mobility to fight 

- If yall have been together for a while then she would make you a scarf or two and that's onlyyyy if yall have been together for long. She’s not going to wasting her yarn on a one night stand. 

- Those stitches are made with loveeeee ok and you better wear them even if the designs are ugly asf (since sev is more the dress maker rather that the stylists)

- Lovesssssssssssss wood work

- I can see her as the type to make bird houses or build her kids a whole ass tree house from scratch

- All her cupboards, dressers and even the bed frame are hand made by yours truly

- She doesn't do it much as she is the sheriff and duty calls. But sometimes, you catch her wilding a piece of wood to make a cute little animal sculpture

- When she proposed to you, she presented the ring in a hand crafted wooden box (you only noticed that after cuz the diamond on that ring was blinding)

- Ik she's the residential arts and crafts bish of the show (she had them 64 Crayola crayons on stand by) but have you seen her family, cause I have (Hiiii miss mel’s mom~)

- Girlie can fighttttttttt. She’s definitely trained in hand to hand and long distance combat. Perks of having a warlording family yk?

- But Mel being the girl boss she is, I feel she would take it a step further and do something like capoeira

- Capoeira is a martial art-infused dance thought to have originated in 16th-century Brazil, which draws attention for having an acrobatic, athletic style. 

- To me that screams Mel, it’s elegant yet deadly (and smth her mother probably hates soooo all the better fit for her)

- You would sometimes watch from a distance and admire how she delivered powerful blows yet graceful blows to the sand bag, all without breaking a sweat

- Runs a tumblr blog. That’s it. 

- Most specifically a Lana Del Rey tumblr blog (pppfffffttttttt ahhahahhahaa)

- Daily Lana quotes, gifs, and she even used Lana song lyrics as words of daily affirmations (the projection is really shining through with her)

- She mainly did it in her past time as a way to interact and talk with people who shared her love of the goddess Lana herself

- On a date, she accidently slipped up and mentioned it to you and you beggggeeeddd her to show you. Ofc she said “Absolutely not.” She was not bout to relive her tween cringe years, she rather get run over by a freight train than show anyone her blog

- After an hour of begging, she caved and you saw it

- Make fun of her alllll you want, but she had a color palette. The pics were on point, man every post correlated with the main page’s theme

Bragging about how talented he is to anyone who listens,, he’s a very creative man

He can’t help it, his commentary is just perfect sometimes

You guys fs make jokes like you guys have the sense of humor as two 13 yr old boys but it’s funny and cute because you guys get each other’s sense of humor so well

You beg him to tell you stories about all his fun times with the Wild Boyz and Jackass even though he’s already told you all of them because they’re so entertaining to listen to

And because you just like hearing him talk

Idk why I just feel like some days you two would just sleep in together and it’s honestly really sweet because it’s just so peaceful

If you wanted to try and take up a new hobby like writing or drawing or just something along those lines he would be so encouraging but at the same time he would tell you where you could improve on areas if you asked for his help

Not in a mean way ofc but just like “this is really good Babe but I think this would work better…”

Your dates consists of driving late at night to get burgers or just getting something else real quick, driving to find a view, smoking a blunt and then eating and enjoying each other’s company laughing at the most random things high asf
