It was one of those days-

That boy was as layered and complicated as an onion, and trying to navigate through his mind and emotions was gonna drive you mad. One moment he's calling you a dense ass for dropping a pencil or getting bitten, and the other he's glancing at you all soft like a high school girl in love would.

You swore you have spent and used more brain cells on trying to see through him than you had on maths. He could be downright cruel at times, and even dismissed you so harshly that you favored the men-whore final boss (Laito) over him for some while, which didn't last long when he forced you so adorably in a 'relationship' with him or is what you thought, since he ordered you to resist if any of his brothers try to bite you. Resisting only meant to get bit to near death, where you'd start to see stars and lights that you thought only existed in cartoons, or, like these times, when he'd strangle you.

Subaru jolted and flinched away form the volume of your voice, that look on your eyes, he backed up slightly, his grip on your throat weakened. In a swift movement, you dug your nails deep into his unhealthily pale wrists, shoving him away with every ounce of strength you had left.

Subaru stumbled backwards, catching himself quickly, his white boots stepping on a broken shard of glass from a vase that you bet was supposed to be cherished. You felt guilty for using one of his traumas against him to make him halt, stop. Yes, but did it save you from getting choked? Yes.

The anger was incredibly contagious, you bite your lip to hold back all the insults and traumas you could bring up, knowing that it would just bring you brutal death and a quick burial in dirt in the next hour, you shut your mouth, trying to find saliva to relieve your sore throat that was deeply in dire need of moisture.

The grip he had on your throat just now had been so tight you could've sworn he had actually meant to kill you for a second. Your breathing became labored. Your heartbeat was stubborn and didn't wanna settle down. Your eyes stared back at Subaru's with a mixture of tears and fury, you blink. Trying to help your eyes get used to the light again.

Both of you had your flaws and toxic traits, you suddenly found yourself on top of Subaru, a hard grip on his hair that matched his on your throat earlier, you wipe salty tears away, everything was a blur. -Once you gave him a smile and a nod he would pull you into his lap on the couch and gently move your hair out the way, kissing your neck gently before biting into your skin, moaning at the sweet taste entering his mouth from you.

Reiji:

-His dark eyes looked down at you as he put down a flask on his desk, scoffing as he pushed his glasses up. He mentioned he had need some blood for a mix he was making in his lab but wasn’t expecting you to offer your own. Subaru:

-As he showed you the flowers he loved so dearly, he was shocked to hear you ask such a thing. Turning his body to face you and glare down at you. His eyes adventuring down to your lips as he tried to process it.

-“You wish for me to feed on you?” He asks, shocked and slightly angry at the idea

-When he saw you nod he could see the fear in your eyes and sighed. Walking straight past you and back inside

-“You’re not ready.” Is all he will say to you in return, leaving you alone in the garden. His mind wandering back to you and the idea over and over again until he sees the time when you’re ready.

Kou:

-Kou was wandering why you invited him to the roof of the school and as he heard you speak, he couldn’t help but smoothly place his hands on your waist and lower back, bending you back as if he was going to kiss you. But the cheeky smile on his face showed you that’s not what he had planned.

-“I can finally taste you huh? The others might be jealous you know?” He chuckles.

-Kou was impressed by your confidence as you showed that you don’t care. Making him smirk and lean into a kiss. Letting his lips explore down to your neck and lower to your collarbone, his fangs digging into your sensitive skin, letting the red liquid flow into his mouth.

Ruki:

You were sleepy while laying on his bed, while Ruki was at his desk writing down some things, he explained it was difficult to focus while still thirsty. So you asked him to bite you and have a drink. He turned his head to look at you laid upon his bed and gulped, feeling nervous for the first time.

-He was hesitant and had to stare until he could see how serious you were, even behind those sleepy eyes of yours. So he came over, leaning his body above yours, his expression never changing from the same serious face he generally had.

-Ruki leaned down and took a sniff of your familiar perfume and the hint of your blood. His fangs biting into your neck without a thought. But after he realised what happened and apologised.

Yuma:

-He was excited when you agreed to join him with grabbing some of the vegetables from his garden until your conversation ended in you telling him that he can drink off you whenever he’s thirsty. Which led to him holding the basket of tomatoes, eggplants and other things he’s been growing. Looking at you in shock as blush bread across his cheeks, thinking of how sweet you might taste.

-“I like the idea of that.” He sighed, putting the basket down and backing you up against the greenhouse wall, lifting up your chin and biting into your neck, then licking the blood off and pulling your shirt to side so he could bite onto your shoulder. Leaving marks were he pleased.

Azusa:

Azusa could see the fear in your eyes as he held one of his favourite knives to your face asking you to cut him. But you couldn’t do it so you made an excuse out of hurting him. Grabbing the knife and hesitating for a split second, before cutting your arm. His eyes lighting up at the sight. He listened to you as you told him he could drink from you.

-He was unsure but as he spotted the blood run down your arm he couldn’t waste a second and gently held your arm, licking the red liquid off, biting into your cut making you whimper at the feeling.

-After he pulled away he would smile with a flustered expression and put the knife with his collection naming the knife after you, as to him, you both just shared a beautiful and special moment he shall never forget.

Things had changed so much from that day. You wouldn’t have ever thought that your life in the Sakamaki household would be any more than just physically taxing.

You were wrong.

Your heart had been broken long ago by the vampire you’d foolishly given it to. Your mind and spirit better resembled a puzzle that had been flipped off a table.

It was an endless and daily torture… until it wasn’t. Until it simply felt like nothing.

The sound of the piano was hardly reaching your ears despite sitting at its seat. Laito’s fingers played on the keys in a slow melody, one you’d usually enjoy watching him perform for you.

It was one of those things that simply made you fall deeper in love with him each time. A serenade for your heart from him, and he was all that mattered.

He remembered the day you’d suddenly given out on him, the way your screams suddenly silenced and your eyes didn’t respond to his hits. The scars on your body only barely healed from the way he’d handled you. He remembered so vividly how he’d kept his cheery voice at a peak while suffocating you with his bare hands. The way you squirmed and had even begun resorting to hitting him to survive.

It was only when you’d pass out on the ground that he would stare at you blankly, thinking you were dead and not thinking twice about it.

He told you he loved you, if you died, wouldn’t this be his ultimate confession of that?

It wasn’t until your smile and your laugh became a distant memory that he realized just how much he missed it. The way you’d bend over laughing at the playful teasing between you two. Or how you’d hug him in a way that was so tender and true that the idea of death separating you two was unfathomable to him.

He wanted nothing more than to spend an eternity with you.

He loved you.

So why did he… how could he turn around and strip such an achievable reality with you down to this very moment.

Your cheeks were sunken in from the malnutrition.

Laito sat up straight, wrapping his arms gently around your waist and pulling you to his chest. He pressed his cheek against the top of your head and focused on the soft thumping of your heart.

“I love you,” he whispered. That once cheerful tone in his voice was completely vacant.

You didn’t respond, and you never would.

He was well aware you’d never get to…

There was a little to no chance you’d make it past the month. All the pain and torture your body had obtained over the past two years had you made you reach your limit. The emotional and psychological pain had been the breaking point, but Laito was too late to realized that the eternity he’d wanted with you was possible.

It was so close…

It was right there…

It was gone, and he knew that. He’d accept it now, the fact you’d never be able to tell him you loved him, and that you’d give the world to stay by his side.

Your subconscious would forever regret the words you’d spoken that day. The sentence that had steered your lives in this very direction…

Your hands cupped his cheeks as you looked adoringly into his gorgeous green eyes. Your nose softly brushed his while he smiled mischievously at the move he’d make in the next second, unaware of the words that would make him replace the kisses on your neck with a hand.

A voice and a hand pulls you from the panic growing in your chest. You only get the chance to see golden hair before you’re wrapped in a warm hold. Tears falling freely with your fear. Normally you’d feel embarrassed but your heart raced and you craved the comfort. You latched onto Shu burying your face in the soft tan collar of his cardigan. You couldn’t quite register what he was saying, but the rumble of his chest calmed you a bit.

Your eyes felt heavy and so did your head. He carried you away from the mess and the kitchen. The dim lights of the hall made keeping your eyes open easier, but the twists of the hall made you dizzy. Eventually you closed your eyes a final time and drifted to sleep.

Your eyes burned with the lights. Eyes opened slowly as the world formed back into one image. You go to sit up only to be grabbed by long arms. You see Subaru’s face as he holds you firmly in your arms. Your confusion only grows more as you look around to see a colorful room. A room certainly made for a child, right?

“Oh! They’re awake, how fun!” you hear Laito exclaim.

Subarus' grip tightened slightly as he glared at the red head. “Tch. Why don’t you give them time to wake up before screaming like that?”

Leaning back before a fight starts you question them. “What’s going on?” Your voice quiet and shaky. 

“Shh. Pretty baby, there’s no need to worry anymore.” Laito says cooing at you.

Subaru sighs angrily and adjusts his hold on you.

“What do you mean?” You ask with fear. “Why are you acting like this?” Your head spun with concern.

“See now she's confused.” Subaru states angrily at Laito.

Narrowing his eyes, Laito responds quickly. “She was going to be confused anyways.”

“Please put me down…” You whisper.

“No.” Subaru says firmly.

Before any more words could be thrown, the rest of the brothers piled into the room. Turns out Shu had been in the room the whole time and they were just waiting on the last three. They gave each other looks that you couldn’t understand.

Reiji stood in front of Subaru and you as he started to talk. “To start off, I’m sure you’re confused. Over your stay here we noticed certain things that none of us were able to ignore. We came to the executive decision that you would be much better off if you were our little sibling rather than hers. Therefore from here on out you’ll follow a strict set of rules and a steady schedule. We’ll take care of your needs and you’ll be the perfect little one for us. Understood”

“No,” You say. “No, I don’t understand. I thought you hated me? And what do you mean take care of me? Why would I want to be your little sibling? I mean Yui isn’t preferable by any means but I’m not your sibling? I- What do you mean by little one? Can I just- just what’s going on righ-” Your cut of again by Reiji as he ‘explains’ things more and lays out the ‘rules’

By the end of his speech you were crying from anxiety. Surprisingly to you Subaru handed you off calmly to Kanato. Despite his size he held you steady. It made you feel so much smaller than you knew you were. Kanato’s hand came up and forced your head onto his shoulder. Even when you tried to move your head off his hand kept it down. You were however allowed to move your head to face into his chest rather than away. He started singing to you as you cried. He sat in a rocking chair and held you close.

You hear coos and praises as you drift into a dark peaceful sleep.

Yui's POV:

I didn't even notice the time, it just hit 1 am...I have been studying for this Statistics final since 8 pm..I didn't even notice time was going by so quickly, I did have like 2 cups of coffee which is very unlike me but I did need energy. I suck at math, I always have, Statistics was the only somewhat easy math course available for the prerequisite courses, my major itself has nothing to do with math at all, I don't understand why they are making me take this..I sigh to myself then yawn, I should head back to my dorm. I start putting away my books, packing everything into my bag and making my way out.

I was studying at the campus library,everyone had left hours ago so it was so quiet and honestly kind of creepy. I stepped out of the building and, and began my long walk to the dorm buildings. I heard music from a distance though, it was loud and coming from the dorms it sounded like party music, who parties on a Sunday night? I was a scholarship student so I tried my best to stay away from the rich kids, they were usually the party kids. I'm surprised campus security didn't shut down this party yet. Anyway I made it back to my dorm and just my luck, this loud party is on my floor..I won't be able to sleep at night if this continues and based on what I was hearing, it seems like their party just started. "SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS! WOOOHOOO!" I heard people yell in sync, it was very annoying. I'm not one to EVER go up to someone's door and tell them to keep it down but tonight might have to be the night...

I was shaky, nervously walking over to this roaring room. I somehow managed to muster up the courage to knock on the door, but that did nothing, I doubt anyone heard that light knock, so I did it again harder this time. The door opens. "Hey guys, it's okay~ it's not campus security, it's just some cute girl." A tall slender guy stated, he had a fedora on and smelled of liquor. Before I could even usher out a word he grabbed me and pulled me inside. There were red solo cups and empty bottles all over the floors and tables, there were a few people passed out, some were dancing about. "Hey, who's the host of this party?" I asked out to the guy with the fedora, he chuckled slightly and pointed at himself and a guy all the way in the back, he had spiky red hair and dangerous green eyes, his look was hard to forget. "I told you to stop inviting girls with a lackluster chests man." he said to the fedora guy, which made me look down at my breasts and I could imagine just how bright red my face had turned. "Don't look at my chest pervert, anyway I came here to ask if you guys can turn it down, I have an exam and I can't sleep if it's this loud." I tell them both, they look at me then each other and begin to laugh. "Not this foolish bitch thinking she can tell us how to live our lives~!" the fedora guy laughed out. "If we turn down the music, what will I get in return?" the other guy asked, his eyes gleamed at me. His gaze was very intense and it made me uncomfortable. "my gratitude" I stated firmly, this caused them both to laugh. "the fuck am I supposed to do with that?? How about you take your gratitude and go fuck yourself with it, or even better, let megive you that honor." His words were very rude and disgusting honestly, he was probably drunk but still doesn't give him the right to talk to someone that way. "No thanks, you're not even my type." I told him. "You heard that, Ayato? I think I am her type, I'll give you a great time little bitch." The fedora guy commented, I just wanted to get out of there and sleep already. "You two aren't making any sense at all, I'm leaving." I tell them and attempt to leave but to no avail.

The guy named Ayato grabbed me by the wrist and squeezed it, it hurt. He handed me a red solo cup with some drink in it, "We were just joking around, right Laito? Come on, have a drink before you go." He seemed sincere in his speech, I guess one drink might even ease my nerves a bit. I told myself I wouldn't party in college but in this circumstance I think I have no choice regardless. I drank from the cup, it tasted good, nice and sweet. "Woah look at her jugging that, that's kinda hot" Ayato commented. "Want more?" he asked. I don't know why but I agreed, I drank and drank so much everything started to get blurry, I don't even remember what happened next.

Ayato's POV:

"Oh who cares, she's dead now, come on let's throw her a funeral party~! May she rest in peace the silly dead little bitch~" he chanted, and again the partying continued like nothing happened..I still remember those saddened eyes she had, I really must have been that good she had to kill herself after, she's dumb I would've given her more.

new merch line. you know the drill

first of all, i don’t hate this line. I think most of the boys are drawn pretty well. but what a strange concept? the diaboys.. as priests? “dark” anti christ priests but still.. strange? it’s unique at least?

my only real complaint with ayato is how his mouth looks weird. c’mon he’s a vampire, show me the fangs. c’mon let him do the iconic bite the glove thing. it actually frustrates me how they missed that opportunity 😭 overall, he looks fine to me. there’s no detail i’m particularly drooling over. except for this one very specific detail that has me drooling over the triplets. & it’s the… halo?? like look at the triplets next to each other. ayato in the middle with his brothers on the side. i LOVE the way they’re turned with him in the middle 😫 on that note, i hate how shuu is at the end. if they just swapped subaru & shuu’s placements, we could’ve kept up with the turn thing the triplets + reiji were doing. 

kanato looks a bit off, right? is it just me or are his eyebags less dark..? idk but he looks a bit off, to me at least. also.. is that teddy? kanato has been seen with more bears in the recent merch lines, but this one kinda looks like teddy.. except he’s so dark brown?? anyways, as off as he looks to me, i still really like him. he’s grown on me the more i look at him, i think he looks pretty, & i like the pose. also kanato with earring <3

shuu’s face is very very pretty, despite that there’s nothing really that interesting about his design to me. now he doesn’t look bad at all, just a tad boring in my opinion. other then that i’m crazy about how pretty they drew his face & hair <3

why is reiji so hot rn?? the face, the pose, the chained glasses, the ascot, my god reiji pull it back sir you are a priest. i originally thought his hair looked a little flat but i think that might’ve just been me. anyways, i love him so much <3

kou is so cute looking!! i think his priest getup looks so nice & pretty on him! i’m also a bit pink & black biased, but aside from that, i really do like him. i’m very pleased with this kou. he looks cute to me <3 i like his pose too <3

azusa so pretty like when does he not look ethereal? & yknow how much i love azusa with wings <3 i love how his wings have bandages on them. it’s so azusa. i don’t really like the design of the knife but oh well he still looks pretty

carla looks alright :/ i’m a bit disappointed tbh. I always love the black ribbon in his hair, but it’s just meh here. of course i love seeing it, but not my favorite appearance of it 😔 i really don’t like the weird wind blowing thing that’s going on with him. especially with this video quality, some of his details look bad to me. like that specific strand of hair blown too close to his mouth. looks fine in higher quality, & up close, but at quick glance.. not so much. i also just don’t love the angle. it could’ve been better (imo) but he’s fine overall

The look that was once full of joy when she looked at the pictures of her sister was long gone. Her gaze went out of the window of the big house, one day she would burn it down, try to leave all this behind and come to her beloved sister.

Her eyes went from the full moon to the pink flip phone she saw in her gallery of photos, her sister reading her to sleep and other books. The two of them playing together, from dolls to self-made figures, and baking together, something she particularly missed.

Baking was at least something she could still do here when she was left alone...and that was something that was rather rare. But when the clicking sound of her cell phone went through her room and the screen went black, taking her grief with it for at least that night, she knew that in order not to lose her mind any more, she had to do just that.

You said it helps if you do something familiar, she thought of her sister's wise words then and perhaps now, but it was almost a joke that made her smile. A skinny girl with an eating disorder likes to bake - a bad joke that had come from Ayato or Laito all too often.

Something she was aware of but ignored, she was better than that and she would defend herself if it came to that. Slipping her pink hand into the barely visible pocket of her long, frilly dress in a light shade of pink, she picked up her favorite parasol. It must have looked a little strange for someone to walk through a house with an umbrella, but none of them were normal here. They were all lost.

Closing the door behind her, she made her way down the corridor and listened as carefully as she could in the hallway, but none of the six brothers seemed to make a sound. Shu wasn't snoring, Reiji wasn't experimenting, Ayato wasn't mumbling, Kanato wasn't screaming and Laito and Subaru weren't making a sound.

A place full of dangerous, bloodthirsty vampires should never be quiet, she knew that too. However, as she made her way through the forest, she knew that she was being watched.

She was always being watched by the six, her emotions a trigger for the vampires to feast on her. Feasting on her fear, her pain and trying to eradicate every last bit of happiness to feed on this hopelessness.

As she made her way along the corridors towards her destination, however, she felt the gaze upon her. They're here, she thought to herself, gripping the parasol tighter, not wanting to give them the satisfaction of fear. She could already see the kitchen ahead of her, but at the same moment the red-haired vampire with the green eyes emerged from the shadows.

,,If that's not a pretty bow, what are you up to?" he asked with a grin and she already seemed to know what he was getting at. If she wasn't being terrorized by the brothers then she was being used to do these things.

,,I'm baking Ayato and no, I'm not making takoyaki with you," she said sternly without showing any sign of anger on her face, but a twitch of a muscle would be enough for him to see and he could forget himself. They could all forget themselves.

She wanted to push past him with the help of the umbrella. She had seen how his grin had fallen and had not followed his order. ,,How dare you!" he interrupted and pulled her back towards him by her dress, trying to get her into his arms to drink from her. But the tearing of the fabric tore the dress, the dress her beloved sister had left her. Broken.

The pink ribbons fell down and no longer held. ,,Yui" her sister's name fell to the only person she wanted to see. Ayato paused, he knew the blonde had heard the name and tasted the blood. But in the next moment, her anger escaped the calm she had tried to maintain.

In a moment when she could have screamed, killed him, tried to kill everything and everyone, she held out her parasol and soaked the pretty white with his blood when suddenly a hand placed itself on Ayato's shoulder and pushed him backwards so violently that the eldest of the drillings was thrown against the wall. The cracking of the stone was clearly audible.

,,Ayato, be quieter... you have no right," muttered Shu, the only one of the others who almost always interfered, a detail she had also noticed. A detail that everyone had noticed. The eldest of the brothers seemed unable to detach himself from her.

An obsession, her as his property and something told Kianna that of all the evils he was the worst the worst evil which was her greatest and dearest help.

,,Miserable sleeper, then take her, but one day she will grow to my size," Ayato hissed, moving away from the wall and walking away from the two of them, but Ayato's words of warning let them both know that this was not over yet. ,,He needs to learn who you belong to," Shu murmured, his blue eyes shifting from the fallen bows to the brown-haired girl's bright, almost golden eyes.

He took one of the bows and twirled it between his fingers before handing it over and walking past her outside without a word. But his gaze, those engaging blue eyes, told her to follow him.

Taking up the remaining ribbons, she straightened her beloved kelid as best she could and put them on her cell phone before following the blond. ,,You didn't have to do that... but thank you," she reminded him, knowing that she might not have been able to kill Ayato, but she would have done anything to defend her sister, her only light in this hopeless world.

Following him out of the annexe, she found herself in the large rose garden, white and shiny roses growing in the dark light of the moon. ,,I didn't have to do it Kianna but they learn that you are mine and I thought you would have learned that too" he reminded her as if it was something they had both agreed to. Maybe we did, she thought, looking at Shu who had wrapped his hand around one of the roses, plucking the flower and holding it out to her.

,,Learn? Shu can you learn something like this it's in your nature this...madness" she said and took the rose anyway knowing that Yui had treasured it too knowing that no matter what happened he would do anything to keep it with him. Tucking the rose into her hair, she looked up at the moon, the bright yet sinister light she knew vampires actually liked but every light had light and every light was disturbing to vampires.

,,So you call it madness even though you know the truth," he replied, following her gaze before she suddenly opened her parasol and gave him an inviting look. She saw his semblance of a smile before he stood under her umbrella with her, knowing by this gesture what it meant.

Before he gave her an almost gentle rewarding kiss on the top of her head she didn't flinch as she usually did, allowing his touch for a moment before she latched onto him.

Enjoying the stillness that the night brought and the madness that seemed to slowly take over her seemed inviting all at once knowing that he was with her. That Shu would protect her, that he could at least give her love in her so damned life. If it meant being his Kianna knew that she would survive this pain too. She had done so all her life.

New Years Headcanons

❖ Reiji is on a mission to clean the household as best he can. He wants to keep it clean at least for the first few days of the New Years. Apron, hair cap and all. He’s cleaning around the clock and of course none of his brothers are making it easy for him.

❖ Laito and Ayato have fun this time of year messing with Reiji. They’ll follow him around and toss things in the ground once he turns around. He’ll turn around again to see the mess and he’ll yell, then clean it again. Reiji is too frantic this time of year to notice it’s them pulling the strings.

❖ Otoshidama! All of the boys get money from Karlheinz. Yes, I’m talking about the small amount of money Karlheinz gives them every new year.

❖ Subaru enjoys watching the first sunrise atop the roof. This is the one time he doesn’t engage in the riot that Ayato causes.

❖ Reiji makes the best looking Kagami Mochi and Kanato ALWAYS eats it on him. He’s in the loop of picking up after Ayato and Laito, and then making more Kagami mochi because Kanato ate it while his back was turned.

❖ Each year one of the boys gets to ring the bell in the demon world. This year it’s Subaru’s turn. He ends up breaking the bell every time and then whacking the broken bell for the remaining number of rings he had to do. “One.. two.. Three.. CRACK.”

❖ When visiting the shrine’s Shu always gets mobbed. It’s almost like he’s invisible the way people use him as an entry mat. And by people I mean Ayato. Ayato then proceeds to grab a fortune and give it to Shu. Without a doubt it will be ‘bad luck’ and Ayato will laugh as he proceeds to step on him.

❖ Laito loves dressing for the New Years. He’ll dress all nice and go out to get grab bags. He buys so many just for the fun of it then tries to pawn the items off to Kou acting like they’re something extremely special.

❖ In the Mukami household New Year’s is smoother. Ruki makes lots of traditional dishes for the family to share together. All of them enjoy this time because they get to eat family meals with a deeper special meaning.

❖ This doesn’t stop Kou from stealing food though. He ends up stealing some long soba noodles from Yuma’s bowl and they end up biting toward one another. It ends up something like this:
