I'd stored it in my closet to inevitably put away in an archival, acid-free storage box. But I felt sorry for the poor thing, being crammed away in the dark. (yes, I anthropomorphize things).

I tried it on and it fit perfectly! I added my late mother's gold and garnet antique pin.

I didn't have a bow tie or jacket, so I wore a nice necklace and, since it was warm, no jacket was needed.

The friends I went to the opera with asked about my clothes, and it was fun telling them its history. They're not the kind of people who'd go watch Dumbo, so I knew I threw them a little. ;-)

The opera was quite fun! The voices were magnificent, the set perfect, the costumes great, and it was actually funny! (I typically can write a more eloquent review, but I'm getting over a cold, too. :-)

I'm going to keep J.G.'s costume out so I can wear it to other events. Better than being stuck in the dark in a box. Now it can live again!
