Lucy's Christmas gift faux pas.... 'Seeking a Christmas present for Mary (Wickes) one year, Lucy carelessly picked something up from her own bedroom and wrapped it, completely forgetting she had received it from Mary. A hurt Mary asked (Wanda) Clark about the gift, but Clark is not certain Mary ever told Lucy directly. "Lucy was pretty bad about wrapping things up and giving them back. Blu Christmas Holiday Movie Asplosion 2022! ⛄ Chapter 50: White Christmas 🦌 I adore this movie. It already looked pretty amazing to me on the blu-ray I have of it, but I am excited to now see how it looks on my current setup (that's right, I've finally caught up to myself in my posting). That said, I really wish they would do a full loving, detailed, quality restoration/4K transfer. Or at least, and good 4K transfer of the previous good restoration. Anyways, we got Bing and Irving Berlin again, in a movie named for the most popular song written for the previous film, and this time around no horrendous blackface, plus, the directing of Michael Curtiz. Add to that, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, Vera-Ellen, and more! Also, it's just a better movie than Holiday Inn regardless. I have heard some people try to make the very strange argument that this isn't a Christmas movie 🤔 I assume they were just trying to be obtuse, or to make commentary about arguing whether something is or isn't a Christmas movie in the first place. In any case, they're wrong. 😊 ❄️ 🎄I'll Have a Blu Christmas Holiday Movie 'Asplosion 2021!🎄 💿 Chapter 61: White Christmas 🎞️ Like most Christmas movies, it's not without faults, but nevertheless, I do love this film. Yes I get irritated (in any movie) when people can't just have a damn conversation like adults for a few minutes to avoid these ridiculous problems (related: I hate you Wuthering Heights), but, I just find this so charming anyway that it's worth it. I've mentioned often my love of the goofy pageantry of Christmas (without any personal spiritual or religious connection), and this movie is high among the various examples of such.
