___________________________________________
Today was an awful day, Alberto decided.
His day was littered with small screw ups and he found himself feeling worse than he should about them. He hadn't even done that bad of a job today—all things considered.
He had just accidentally dropped people's food a ridiculous amount of times, accidentally hit poor old Bianca in the face with a fish, and accidentally tripped over himself approximately 8 times.
Oh boy, he really had screwed up today hadn't he?
And no he wasn't spatastrophizing or whatever that weird word Gulia had called him a few months ago was.
He was fine. Everyone has bad days like this. And he wasn't hiding in his room trying desperately not to cry because it's almost dinner time.
Who would cry about something like this? Definitely not Alberto, nope, no thanks.
But why would Massimo even want to keep him around if he kept screwing up like this? He wasn't earning any of this kindness, and he wasn't improving fast enough, and he had to get better better better before Massimo realized what everyone else already had—that he was sinking valuable resources into a lost cause.
Alberto had to work harder. He had to get better or get left behind.
Alberto was sitting with his knees to his chest, hands gripping his curly hair, and yep okay he was crying now.
The thing was Alberto was working hard. And he still wasn't good enough? Clearly, considering he failed over and over again at the most basic things.
Maybe that was his destiny? To try and try and try and never be good? Maybe he wasn't capable of being enough. Maybe that's why everyone left him.
But everyone hasn't left you! His mind tried. Massimo, Luca, Guilia, Luca's family, even the cat! They all stayed, they all care!
Pity, probably. They were all too charitable, too nice. Alberto knew he didn't deserve it. They probably did too.
No! Love, not pity!
If he realized he was a lost cause, it wouldn't be long before Massimo did too, Alberto realized, feeling panic crawl up his throat. This charade could only last so long. Massimo was getting rid of him soon soon soon.
Everything was feeling fuzzy and far away and so much all at the same time. He was gasping and gasping and gasping and getting no air. His lungs crashed up and down without his control. His fingers were suddenly yanking at his curls hard. The pain was supposed to be grounding but it quickly became another thing Alberto lost control over.
This was bad.
The steps up to Giulias old room creaked as a gruff sounding voice called out, "Alberto?"
Massimo.
This was worse.
Alberto clamped a hand over his useless gasping mouth.
What was he going to tell Massimo if he found him like this? Sorry, I just can't breathe because I know that you're going to get rid of me, it's no big deal though. Let's go have pasta! Yeah. That'd go great he bets.
Massimo would have to deal with another one of Albertos screw ups. Would this one push him over the edge?
Massimo called out a few more times, and Alberto sat in the corner of Guilias room, shaking, trying to desperately pull himself together.
Please don't come upstairs please don't come upstairs please dont—
So Massimo had come upstairs.
"Alberto..." He said, voice uncharacteristically soft.
Suddenly Massimo was crouched in front of Alberto, on the floor.
Alberto tried his best to be quiet, his dad before always got mad when he threw tantrums like this. He hated how whiney and annoying he sounded when he failed to hold back a gasping sob. He looked away from Massimo. He didn't want to see what face he was making.
"Look at me. You need to breathe, son." There was something incredibly comforting about Massimos way of speaking, and Albertos heart ached at being called son so easily. The fuzzy panic was still here, plaguing his insides, but it felt a little less oppressive. 'Dad is here, Dad is here, Dad is here,' his mind chanted.
Alberto looked up. Massimos face held nothing but concern and care and it made him want to cry for a whole other reason.
"Follow me." Massimo said, simply. He took slow deep breaths. Alberto tried his best to follow. I mean; he's gotta at least be able to breath right, yeah? Apparently not.
He choked on his breath. A few times. But Massimo looked at him with such encouragement that he just had to keep trying. And he did.
So now, Alberto was sitting here, feeling a lot more real and there, no longer drowning in the air. He would say that's a pretty good lifestyle improvement.
He was still shaking a little though, which wasn't very cool.
Suddenly he was wrapped up in warm, sturdy arms and he almoat started crying again. "What happened, my boy?"
Now was the hardest part. What was he supposed to say?
"I just...had a bad day, I guess." Alberto muttered into Massimos shoulder, cringing at the way his voice came out after crying. "M'sorry," he added lamely.
"There's nothing to be sorry for," Massimo said, in a way that made it sound like a simple fact. "Do you want to talk?"
Alberto nodded, and although Massimo pulled away from the hug, he kept a hand on the boys knee.
"Uhm—I just. I screwed a lot of things up. And I was thinking..." Alberto sucked in a sharp breath, "That you might not be a big fan of that? Or...really. Want me around? I know I'm not very—"
"Alberto. You belong here. That will not change."
"But—"
"You are a hard worker. Smart. Funny. Kind. Good."
"I don't deserve this!" Alberto said, and it was a desperate, broken sound.
Massimos expression was suprised, then steady. "You do."
Something about that broke Alberto all over again, and he was leaning into the other man's shoulder, shuddering with tears. He felt bad for getting his shirt wet, but there wasn't much he could do.
They stayed for a while, Massimo rubbing small circles on the boys back. When Albertos neck was sore from the way he was straining it. And when he felt stable and tired and a little sweaty, he broke away.
"Thank you, Massimo," he said, though it didn't come close to conveying how he felt.
Massimo just nodded, as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
"You know what I used to do with Guilia when she had a bad day?"
"What?" Alberto said, suddenly eager. Stories from Massimo were a rare and treasured thing.
"This." And suddenly large, warm, hands were scribbling all over Albertos tummy.
"Ah! Ahah! Mahahahsihihimo! Wh—Ahahah!"
Tingles exploded in Albertos torso, and he finally understood what people meant when they talked about butterflies.
"Yes?"
"Ihihit! Ihihihit TihiHihCklehehes! Hehahahaha!"
"Good."
As he squirmed helplessly under his father figures fingers, he realized that this was actually really nice.
Just laughing. Without a care in the world.
Massimo attacked Albertos ribs with a dexterity that said experience, and Alberto threw his head back with a squeal bursting into a bout of squeaky laughter.
"Ahahahah! Dahahahad! Ihihihihi—Ihihihihi Cahahahant!"
"Can't what?" Somehow Massimos quiet, blunt teasing was making Alberto more flustered.
"Ihihihihi dohohohohohnt knohohohhohhow!"
He was met with a hum and fingers creeping up into Albertos armpits, scritch-scratching with blunt nails.
Alberto screeched before dissolving into boisterous laughter. His arms crashed down and he wiggled around like some kind of teen-boy-fish-worm.
"WAHAHAHAHA! AHAHAAH—DAHAHAHAHAHAD!"
"Yes?"
"GEHEHEHEHT OHOHOHOUT! AHAHAHA!"
"I'm stuck."
"NAHAHAHAHA! DOHOHOHOHOHONT TEHEHEHEHAHASE!"
Massimo remained there a moment longer, before relenting. Instead, he brought his fingers up to skitter around Albertos neck and ears. Giggles poured out of Albertos mouth and he shook his head back and forth with mirth.
"Mhmhmh! Fahahahah! Ihihihihi—Ahahahaha!" Alberto didn't know what he was trying to say, but whatever it was it was beyond lost in translation. His brain was fizzling with giggles and butterflies.
If his eyes weren't squeezed shut with laughter, Alberto wouldve seen how Massimo was smiling down at him as if he were the most amazing thing in the world.
Massimo's fingers slowed, and Alberto caught his breath.
"You must be hungry."
"Yehe—" Alberto cleared his throat, "Yeah, I guess I am." He was still giggly and smiling with pink cheeks.
"Dinner is done." Massimo said, before getting up and offering a hand to the boy. Alberto took it, and was shocked to find himself not letting go after he was up.
"I...I love you papá," Alberto said, wearing an expression that looked so fragile, that Massimo was almost afraid to say anything at all.
"I love you too son. Don't forget."

Sword Fight...
David brought a rock to a sword fight...' some days I am swamped with emotions of being that small-ish boy who went out to fight the undefeated giant...the King of that time was Massimo Serato(Abner) and feared David, his position, his kindness, his wisdom, and so set out to see him destroyed by the one opponent sure to crush him beneath his boot.
When all seems lost...when the opponent seems insurmountable and as large as a mountain and just as hard...God steps in.
I'm not completely sure why I am surprised by the chaos of emotions, the insuperable fears, the lingering laments...every minute of every day the healing continues, rises to the surface to be scrutinized, to be sifted and scanned. Good moments do not mean that the healing has been completed...most unfortunate.
Within a safe space yesterday, I confessed that my life was about to become quite busy and this stuff...this leftover garbage...this dross...needs to go. One and done.....sayonara...arrivederci...
Its comical this morning...worth a chuckle over my naïveté regarding my own heart...
Healing is a journey.... this is what the learned peoples speak of, through years of experience dealing with the hurting, the broken, the lost.
There is no point A to point B....and congratulations, you have arrived at your healing goalpost.
No... it is a meandering, winding, climbing, falling path. Fraught with tears and frustration...fraught with punishing pain and crushing despair....
Kindnesses and compassion....unadulterated acceptance and love....this...THIS is the key.
From ourselves to ourselves...from friends...from family...and surprisingly from strangers...
There is no right way to healing, no right way finding your personal path back to life, liberty and love.
Your path will not follow mine....and mine will look nothing like yours....except where love and patience are concerned. Be patient with yourself dear friends...be patient.
In all my years on this planet I have never leaked tears...cried out...as I have these past weeks. It has been a progression and as time makes its merry way through the universe I cry more; as I allow the memories to surface, as I allow my pain and my part to create shadows in my mind...only then will the clouds open...only then will the winds of change blow through and take with it the fog, the chaos, the anguish...allowing the bright light of day back in.
I begin to grasp the enormity of the task and while I quake and tremble, I take that step into the here, into the now that will release me from my past and from the ties that bind.
With this understanding comes compassion for the journey that many are on and may never step off of...diluted with drugs, with alcohol, with whatever vice taken up to dull the pain, to dull the torture within the mind.
I would ask for the tortured, the lost souls living in agony every minute of everyday...kindness and compassion. We do not always know their story but they have one...and it is theirs to hold and hopefully through love and compassion, one day release.
There is a way...it hurts...it is painful....like picking off that scab...poking and prodding that break, that sprain, that gash, that laceration....growing pains hurt, they ache...
'Here there be dragons' to slay...but on the other side lies freedom and everything we have ever wanted...love of a magical kind...kindness abounding...joy in the morning....
Freedom....free from fear and loathing...free from lies...free from constant sorrow....
And as we grow and learn to deal with the pains of this life, each sorrow, each sadness is accepted and released as it comes...not hoarded and encased within....
Accepted...Felt...acknowledged....and released.
God keep you this day and everyday forward...May He make a way for you, to find that peace...that hope of a life free of fear...it is there awaiting your steps...
I am proud of you today...for standing tall, for walking proud....
Look...just look at how FAR you've come! Stay the course dear hearts, you have grown so much...gained such ground! Good things await you...the best of a life full of promise and possibility.
Nothing is impossible with God...nothing. Now walk it out, speak your truth and take that step, no matter how small....you are capable, able and wise.

Luca is so full of queer subtext omfg???
Luca's parents trying to send him to "the Deep" conversion therapy as a form of protection because they're worried if he keeps going to the surface displaying his queerness people will harm him?
Especially when they find out he's going to the surface with someone else hanging out with someone deemed a deviant that's going to turn him gay??
Luca's grandma encouraging his exploration of the surface and his curiosity himself and his identity and feeding him positivity about it because she herself went through the same process when she was younger???
Alberto's father abandoning him because he deems him as old enough to take care of himself "I will not tolerate you being like this under my roof. If you want to live with me you have to stop being like this." and Alberto didn't so he was abandoned????
Luca and Alberto never having any real friends or close bonds like this and thus bond extremely quickly and decide they want to travel the world together just the two of them????? Tell me which queer kid HASN'T thought of doing this with their first real crush.
Luca's parents stepping outside of their world and into the new world Luca's gone into in order to find him in an attempt to save him their heteronormative world into the deviant world Luca's gone into in the name of "concern and protection" to take him to The Deep before he "gets hurt"??????
Alberto becoming increasingly jealous and frustrated as he feels his one close and new friend crush, admirer, and confidant being stolen away by some other new stranger and getting side tracked from their shared dreams??
Alberto revealing he's a sea creature queer to Giulia in order to show Luca that they wouldn't be accepted and even harmed and thus should just continue their goal of it just being the two of them on their worldwide journey (he's a very angsty kid okay)???
Luca denouncing Alberto and their true forms out of anger and fear in order to protect himself and stay in the new human world he found in order to be comfortable and their queerness in order to hide himself and stay closeted in the new, safe world away from his parents that want to send him away???????
Luca revealing that he's a sea creature a queer kid in order to save Alberto who also risked revealing that he's a sea creature queer to the whole town in order to help Luca win the race and keep him from revealing outing himself????
The old ladies revealing that they've been sea creatures they're both queer and been in a relationship together the whole time after seeing the newer generation brave enough to be themselves for the sake and safety of each other???????? And that they're probably who Grandma goes to see when she goes to town every weekend?????????
Alberto having a common queer journey of found family in Giulia and Massimo whilst Luca has the common queer journey of having his family accept him as he is and let him go into the world, assured that he would be fine because he has amazing supports by his side????
Alberto and Luca holding onto each other as long as physically possible before the train pulled away, and the shot going to their hands holding on before slipping out of each other, finally followed by Alberto chasing down the train until the end of the platform IN THE RAIN?????????? As if that's NOT a trope straight (heeheehhee) out of a hetero romance movie???????????
It's just... the metaphors, the subtext.... its everywhere! Apart from the subtext though it's two friends taking on this new world together, achieving and finding new dreams, and growing as people. Its also about found family, acceptance, and most importantly love. It's definitely going down as my most favorite Pixar movie in a long while.

luca (2021) post-credits+
massimo cries once the train is gone. so do daniela & lorenzo. "it gets better with time," giulia's papà tells them. it still hurts; alberto stays in the rain until he can't hear the wheels on the tracks anymore.
giulia & luca talk all the way to genoa. about motors, about cars, about classmates, about uniforms, about weasels - seriously, about things luca has no idea what to even imagine! "my mamma will love you," she gushes, and then she talks about her mamma, about paint, about clay... luca sits, heart pounding but thrilled nevertheless.
luca tells giulia's mamma his secret the night they arrive. whether she knows already or not, it doesn't matter; he wants to tell her himself anyway. she holds onto him, strokes his hair, and it's just like he's with his own mamma.
the school in genoa is incredible. luca learns a countless number of things: geography, literature, chemistry, architecture, food... the world is so much bigger than the waters below portorosso. he finds more friends he can count on, and telling them his secret is hard but gets easier. giulia is there when he needs her, and he's there when she needs him. luca still dreams of the vespa & alberto, and he wonders what else they can do for their adventure to come.
alberto does well in portorosso, all things considered. at first the cityfolk are awkward, the fishermen especially wary, but the children know alberto as alberto, regardless of his skin or scales, and they love him for who he is. the sea monster posters are pulled off the walls & the harpoons are put away. after some time, it feels like not much has changed at all in the city - though ercole's insults for him become exclusively fish-related. alberto looks the other way because he knows that there will always be people who don't want to change.
massimo teaches alberto about human living. he learns how to cook perfect pasta, how to count coins & bills, how to get machiavelli to purr. the days are spent in the sun making deliveries & on the waters catching fish. less & less alberto thinks, silenzio bruno. he gets comfortable, he feels safe, and the tally marks on the island become so faraway.
(and alberto gets his own knife!!!)
in turn, alberto teaches massimo about the sea. there are beaches with the softest sands, jagged rocks with the most unforgiving edges. small sea monster villages, crab contests, fish farms... massimo asks about the sea monsters who raised him, and alberto gives him a lie. but the lie doesn't last long, isn't meant to; alberto tells massimo about a mamma he's forgotten & a papà who forgot him. massimo doesn't say much, he never really does, but he always keeps the tableware set for alberto, always greets him with, "buongiorno," and when alberto loses his way, massimo tries to find him.
daniela & lorenzo visit the city often. grandma paguro comes ashore, too, usually to play scopa with the other elders. lorenzo talks for hours about crustaceans with the fishermen; daniela plays ball with the mothers & children in town. they have dinner at massimo's house, whatever pasta alberto is attempting to make & whatever massimo cooks just in case. they talk about the land & the sea, the weather & the seasons, about giulia & luca. luca's parents claim they don't miss him terribly, but alberto knows it's a brave front because he does, too.
there are birthdays. there are anniversaries. there are letters. there are phone calls. there are two calendars that are marked every morning until summer arrives. there is longing.
the train brings giulia & luca back to portorosso a year later. both of them are taller but so is alberto, freckled & tanned by the sun. alberto boasts that he's now the tallest of the bunch, and giulia bets she'll at least outgrow luca by year's end. defensively, luca says she's the smallest when they're in water; she can't refute the statement. still, the three's welcoming embrace is as warm as the summer breezes.
luca has missed his family. he returns to the water & sees his mamma, his papà, and even his uncle ugo. the fish & crabs welcome him home as well, and the water has never looked bluer. he tells them every story he can, and it still doesn't feel like enough. they tell him stories, too, and he feels whole.
when staying in portorosse, luca & alberto sleep outside. giulia's room had turned into alberto's while she was away, but he gladly gives it up to sleep beside luca atop the tree. they talk underneath the not-anchovies, and the conversations never seem to stop. it feels just like last summer, but when they awaken to dewy mornings they no longer hide their tails.
massimo lets them take the boat to sea. giulia paddles while alberto & luca guide her from the water. she only accepts a helpful push from the boys when her face gets as red as her hair. and then they arrive at the island, untouched for months, and alberto sheepishly shows her what used to be his home. there is the collection of human items, the spare parts to the vespa he & luca built, the tally marks. giulia, being giulia, tells them everything about the items, how the tower must've been a lighthouse, how the tree must be decades old.
alberto listens to her speak, how excited she is to teach them, how thoughtful she is to hear him, and he says, "sorry." she doesn't understand; neither does luca. it's all in the past, but alberto wants to own up to it. "i wasn't fair to you back then. i thought you were gonna take him away," alberto says. "i didn't want to be..." alone, he doesn't say, but they hear it.
"stupido," giulia remarks, but there are tears in her eyes as the word leaves her lips. her arms wrap around him in a tight hug. "you're my fratello now, okay? luca, too."
"is luca my fratello?" alberto jokes & giulia laughs, "only if you want him to be." and luca hugs them both, even tighter. when they return to land, they sit on the pier & eat two-scoop gelato.
eventually, alberto apologizes to luca, too. "i shouldn't have done that to you," he says. they are on the beach, facing the night sky, the shore keeping their feet webbed. luca doesn't know what he's talking about, doesn't realize what he means.
"that time when i biked us into the sea, and then we... we fought," alberto continues, and luca remembers. of course he does. the dread, the frustration, the shame... the fear of being different, and the regret that he didn't say he was. alberto being his true self while luca just couldn't bear revealing his secret.
"hey," luca says. "it's okay. i'm okay." because alberto never said i forgive you to him either, but he was okay then, and they're okay now.
the summer goes on.
they enter the portorosso cup race as a team of three (granted alberto & luca don't swim) and they win - fair & square. giulia doesn't throw up along the way & no rain comes down for any surprises. the prize money doesn't go towards another vespa but to a new boat for the marcovaldos. granted, the underdogs would need to win a dozen more cups to buy the entire thing, but it's a start.

I am not going anywhere
Tumblr media
Massimo Torricelli x Reader
Warning: Smut, curse words, fighting.
Summary: You are Massimo’s mistress that he fucks every night wants. One day you get enough and want to leave, because you have fallen in love with him.
Words: 2329
Note: The text in cursive means that they are having a conversation in Italian.
You had enough of him, of his body, voice, and touch. You were tired of not being able to be his, not being able to call him yours, not being able to tell how much he meant to you. The last few months were filled with pain and sadness, as he continued to come and go in the nights. He did not see the pain in your eyes, the tears that fell after he was gone. You were just a toy for him that he used whenever he wanted.
It all started with a one-night stand two years ago. You were on a family vacation and decided to walk around the city alone, while your parents and siblings decided to go shopping. You never liked shopping, and as usual you went your own way. The city was magical, and you spent hours walking around, taking pictures, and learning more about the history from a few guides that were with a group of tourists.
Around six in the evening you decided to finally return to your hotel and meet your family for a diner. On your way there you were too distracted by the beautiful pictures on your phone that you ran in the man.
“Please forgive me!” You said in Italian without looking up. You had learned Italian in school, and this one of the rare places where you could use it. Nobody in your family spoke Italian, since you decided to learn it instead of German, and in your country, there was no need to use this language.
When you moved away and looked in the eyes of the man you had run into, you were taken aback by his features. He had short, midnight black hair and piercing brown eyes that bore into your soul and made your knees weak. He was powerful and dangerous, you could see that by his posture, clothes and two bodyguards behind hm.
You did not want to get into trouble with this Italian god, so you apologize again, ignoring his hands on your waist and butterflies in your stomach. “I am truly sorry for running into you. I was in my own world and did not watch where I was going. If there is anything I can do – “
His hand moved from your waist to your arm, and you stopped talking. “Go out with me.” He said and with that everything started.
You spent almost every night of your vacation with him, and when it was time to leave, Massimo persuaded you to stay. Your family supported your choice, but made you promise that you would fly home and visit them as often as you could. As they left, you found a nice and affordable place in the city, ignoring the fact that Massimo wanted to pay for it. You had stayed here not only because of Massimo, but because of yourself too. You knew that Italy would be the best place for you to find yourself, be yourself and most importantly be happy. Back in home you did not feel happy, but here things were different.
You got the job as an architect and divided your time between it and Massimo. He came every night, sometimes took you to his house and sometimes took you out on dates. Soon enough your one-night stand had changed into an arrangement where you spent each night with him. No strings attached, no feelings involved, no sleeping with other people.
Without realizing, you had fallen for him. You loved everything about him, his voice, his eyes, his touch… everything. As your day went, you thought about Massimo and counted hours to see him. When he was getting ready to leave you in early mornings, you silently prayed for him not to leave, but Massimo never stayed.
The few last months were hell for you because your feelings grew stronger and stronger, and you were not able to stop them. This whole thing was hurting you, and you decided to do the only thing you could to make the pain go away – leave.
You were almost done packing your things when your doorbell rang. It was two in the day, and you had taken a day off to pack your things and write a goodbye letter for Massimo, knowing that you will not be able to look into his eyes. You walked to your front door, wiped away the tears that had fallen, and opened doors without asking. Massimo had made sure that you lived in a safe neighborhood and that no one would ever try to lay a finger on you.
You cursed under your breath when you realized that the person in front of you was Massimo. He changed all your plans, and with him here it will be harder to leave, but you will have to do it. There was no other way how to end the pain in your heart. “What are you going here?” You asked him.
“This is not how you greet me, baby girl!” He said louder that he was usually talking and stormed in the apartment. “Are you going anywhere?”
You rolled your eyes and closed the doors. “I am leaving.”
These three words made Massimo stop and turn around to face me. “What do you mean? Where are you going?”
“Home.” You moved around the room and stood in front of a carbon box, where you had put all the things Massimo had given to you over the two years. You took it in your hands and went to Massimo who was watching you with a furious expression. “Here are all the things you have given to me. I am returning them all to you.” That made him angrier.
Massimo took the box out of your hands and threw it on the floor near your feet. “You are not going anywhere, [Y/N]!”
“You don’t have any right to tell me what I can or cannot do!” You shouted in reply.
He walked closer to you, but you took a step back. “Baby girl, you are forgetting who I am and what can I do.”
You laughed and moved even further away from him. You were not afraid of him, and you will not let him get under your skin. “I don’t care who you are, Massimo. The only person who would have any right to say something in this case would be my husband, but I do not have him, so I am making my own decisions. I am leaving, and nothing is going to stop me from doing that.”
Massimo was even angrier than before. If a look could kill, you would be dead right now. It took him two second to be in front of you and trap you between his body and the wall. “What are you – “
“Shut the fuck up!” He almost shouted in your face. Now you were scared. You have never seen Massimo like this, and it was scaring you. “You are not going anywhere; do you understand me? You. Are. Not. Going. Anywhere.”
You closed your eyes, without wanting to look at his beautiful but painful face. You were on the edge of crying, and you did not want him to see you crying, because you did not want to look weak in front of him. You were strong, and you knew it, and because of that you decided to leave this all behind.
“Why are you doing this to me?” You whispered in the silent room. The only thing that could be heard were our breaths.
“Why are you leaving?” He asked me in return.
“Don’t you see it? Are you really that blind?” You opened your eyes and let the tears fall. This was not the way how you imagined telling him about your feelings. You never imagined telling him about your feelings at all, since you were just a fuck buddy for him. Your eyes met his dark ones, and you poured your heart our through the tears. “I am fucking in love with you, Massimo! And I cannot keep letting you to fuck me every night and then leave, knowing that you will never love me! I am tired of crying my heart out every night, I cannot -”
Massimo did not let you finish, because he kissed you with a force. His hands went around your waist, and he pressed you harder into his embrace. You tried pushing him away, but his hold on you was too strong.
“Stop fighting me, woman!” Massimo said, after you did bite hard onto his lower lip, resulting with blood coming from the wound.
“Then let me go, jerk!” You fought against his hold, but not every single one of your attempts changed the situation. You were still in his arms, and Massimo was a long way away from letting you go.
“Never, my love, never.” Massimo moved his face closer to yours, and this time you did not protest, knowing that it would not change anything. You were trapped under his strong body, without a chance to get free. Tears were still falling from your cheeks, but Massimo managed to wipe them away with his hand.
He looked into your eyes. “I love you. I have loved you from the moment you ran into my arms that day.” Massimo smiled, moved his head closer to mine and pressed a light kiss on my forehead. “I thought that you would never love me, and that is why I continued to come here every night. I could not let you go, and, at the same time, I could not reveal my feelings for you. I was afraid that you would – “
You could not believe what he was saying. Massimo, the man you thought would never love you, admitted his feelings for you. He was in love with you, and it was everything to you. You forgot about your plans, about the position you were in, about time and place. You forgot everything and did the only thing that felt right at that moment – you kissed Massimo, pouring all your love into the kiss.
You moved your hands from his chest and wrapped them around his neck to move his head closer to yours. Your lips started to move in one rhythm, and you opened your mouth to allow Massimo’s tongue to enter. As you continued to kiss, he took you in his arms and moved to the bed.
“Fuck the clothes!” With one fast movement Massimo threw your suitcase off the bed, and all your things fell on the floor.
You helped to take of his black dress shirt by ripping it apart. The buttons flew everywhere, and it made Massimo chuckle. He freed you of your shirt and then shorts, leaving you only in your gray underwear. You were able to see desire in his eyes, as he took a step back to take of his pants and look at your body.
You bit your lower lip at the view in front of you. A hot and very naked Italian god was standing in front of you, ready to take you. Scars and tattoos covered his body and made him look even hotter in your eyes. “Such a tease.” Massimo groaned, as he climbed over you.
You felt his member against your wet core and that turned you on even more. You closed your eyes, as his hands started to move over your stomach, towards your breasts. Massimo grabbed your breasts through the bra, and you pulled his hair when he bit into your neck.
While he was kissing your bare neck and shoulders and at the same time massaging your breasts, you grew impatient. Massimo moved lower and lover, and his lips found your breasts. He took of your underwear and took your left nipple in his mouth. He sucked and bit it, and with every movement you pulled his hair harder and harder.
While he continued to tease you by kissing and licking your body, you grew impatient and squeezed his member with your hand. Massimo hissed in return and stopped his actions, only to move higher and meet your lips. “I. Want. You. Now. Massimo.” You said between kisses and pressed your lower body closer to his. You were ready and wet for him.
With one fast movement he trusted into you. Your walls wrapped themselves around his body, and you both moaned from the sensation. This was the first time when Massimo was inside you without any barrier. You could perfectly feel his long and hot member moving inside and outside you.
At this moment you did not care about getting pregnant. Everything was possible, and even if you would get pregnant, the baby would be loved by you and Massimo. You both had though about family together, but never talked about it loudly since both were afraid of rejection. You were afraid that he would leave you if you got pregnant, Massimo, on the other hand, was afraid that you would do an abortion.
Just like you, Massimo understood that from this moment everything changed, but most importantly, your relationship. You did know where this will go, but you knew only one thing – you will be in this together.
His trusts became faster and harder, and brought you closer to your release. “Let it go, baby girl.” Massimo groaned and then kissed you when you finally let it go and came. A Few trusts later he came too, spilling his hot seed inside you.
“I love you, Massimo.” You pressed a light kiss on his nose and smiled. “So, so much.”
Massimo took his member out and moved to the side to take you in his arms. Your head rested on his chest, and you felt his heartbeat under your hands. “You are my world, my everything. My heart is beating for you, and that is the reason why I cannot let you go.”
You moved your head to look at his face and with a smile said, “I am not going anywhere, not anymore.”

A Te Che Sei Il Mio Amore Grande
I'm writing fanfics again. Woot!
Inspired by the song of the same name.
Chapter One: Quando Ti Guardo
June 06, 1969
Luca drummed his fingers restlessly along the soft velvet of his armrest, his eyes switched from peering out at the Italian coastal terrain and once again reading the watch that rested against his wrist.
“You’re doing it again.”
His eyes snapped up to watch as Giulia sighed at him from behind the thick leather-bound novel in her hands. As her amused yet exasperated gaze landed on him, he grinned sheepishly.
“Mi dispiace, Giulia. I honestly don’t remember the ride being this long.” He checked his watch again and grimaced. “Has it really only been ten minutes?”
Admitting defeat, the red-headed girl marked her place and set the book aside. “Luca, it’s been nine months, si? But what is the one thing we’ve learned about time from Segnora Rosa?” She quirked a knowing brow at him as Luca slumped forward.
“Time is always constant, lo so.” He mumbled.
“Esattamente, therefore,” She continued as she picked up her book with renewed gusto, “the train will take exactly an hour every single time we travel to and from Porto Rosso.” With her argument settled, Giulia returned to her page and began reading once more. After a moment of stillness, she peered at him subtly from above her page. Luca was looking outside once more, his eyes filled with a mixture of yearning, and his mouth twisted in anxiety. With a kinder expression, she said, “If it’s any consolation, amico mio, I’m sure he’s just as nervous to see you.”
Luca puffed out his cheeks but didn’t reply, instead preferring to peer down at his clasped hands.
“Maybe you could finish the bracelets you’ve been working on, that will help you pass the time better and maybe keep your mind off things, eh?” She nodded to his school jacket pocket which held a mass of multicolored strings that had yet to be organized. Perking up at the thought, Luca agreed and set to work on detangling the threads from one another.
Outside the bright light of the morning sun blazed peacefully across the pristine indigo coastline and followed the two youths on the journey. Some miles away, a small town was anything but peaceful.
“Massimo!” A young man jumped up the paved stairways of Porto Rosso, disturbing the half-dozen pigeons resting there. At their indignant coos and squawks, Alberto quickly glanced back with a slight shout of “sorry!” before continuing on his rampage towards the Marcovaldo residence. Skidding to a stop once he passed the archway, he leaned heavily against the tree that he and Luca had slept in nearly a year ago prior and gasped.
With a large crash, both Massimo and Machiavelli burst through the front door looking frazzled and ready for a fight. The latter was fully puffed up with his claws digging into the cobblestone walkway and his pupils shrunken to small slits. Massimo swiveled his head around looking for whatever danger could have provoked Alberto’s shout, his shoulders hunched and his good arm gripping his harpoon tightly. However, when no danger presented itself, he glared half-heartedly through his eyebrows at the young sea monster who sheepishly grinned.
“Well, where’s the fuoco, eh?”
“Yeah, sorry about that, Massimo, everything’s fine. But!” He pointed animatedly at the large man, “you are aware of what day it is, right? We only have a few hours until-”
“Until Giulia and Luca arrive, si piccolo, lo so. You’ve only been talking about it for a month now.” Shouldering his harpoon and popping his neck, the old fisherman turned to enter the house, an unhappy Machiavelli climbing onto his open shoulder, but not before growling irritably at Alberto.
“Come have breakfast, Alberto, we’ll see what we can do to keep busy while we wait.” The large man patted Alberto’s sun-kissed shoulder before entering the house. Slumping in resignation, the teen followed behind Massimo but not before stretching to give one last searching look at the expansive cliffs that breached the horizon, hopeful to see a plume of smoke.
**************
When the train finally pulled into the stazione, Luca was already flinging the train door open and running into the waiting arms of his mother who squealed with delight and refused to set him down for several long moments, much to Luca’s embarrassment and secret delight. An equally excited Giulia was soon to follow, and she said a quick hello to the Paguro’s before launching into Massimo’s open arms. While his father patted him on the head and asked the generic questions of wellbeing, Luca tried to glance around his parents. If Massimo was here, then so was-
“I told you I’d be okay.” Luca’s heart thudded painfully in his chest for one moment as Alberto sauntered into view. Prying himself from his mother, the young sea monster swiftly walked to Alberto and embraced him without pause. Luca buried his face into the crook of Alberto’s neck and breathed him in for the first time in nine months.
Whatever nerves and fear Alberto had been holding released him the moment his best friend enveloped him in his arms. Luca had grown slightly taller over the colder months and his skin had lost its sun-kissed pigmentation, but the warmth in his eyes had not faded in the slightest.
“Welcome home, Luca,” Alberto mumbled into his friend's hair, ignoring the wetness gathering at the corner of his eyes, he pulled away with a chuckle. “Are we going to do this every time we say ciao?” Luca smiled wetly and scrubbed weakly at his face.
“I think I could get used to it if it’s with you.” Alberto resolutely decided to ignore the heat that gathered in his cheeks as Luca turned to answer Massimo. Brushing it off as too much time in the sun, he tuned into the conversation just as the gentle fisherman began speaking of their new fishing truck.
“Grazie to Alberto’s ‘knowing fish’, we earned enough for me to invest in an auto,” Massimo stated proudly, clasping a large hand onto Alberto’s shoulder. The teen modestly scratched under his hat and shrugged, turning to Giulia and Luca.
“He’s really only saying that. Massimo did all the hard work; I just stuck my head underwater a few times every day to navigate us. But!” Alberto waved towards the station entrance and began pulling Luca by the hand. “you really have to see the truck I’ve been writing to you about.”
The truck itself was what could hardly be described as new. The front bumper was barely hanging on and rusted completely through on the right side. Green chipped paint covered the doors and Luca noted with a swell of warmth the black hand-painted logo of “Massimo and Alberto Fishing co.” Most people would consider the truck like garbage, but Alberto found the faded paint and broken glass charming, and he said as much to the group. Giulia rubbed suspiciously at the truck’s tailgate, her eyes squinting as she studied it.
“The Americans call it a ‘Hudson pickup’,” Massimo announces proudly, his pronunciation heavily accented.
“I’m still not sold on it being actually safe, but I’ll admit it wasn’t too bad the first time Massimo drove it.” Daniela opined, opening the front door with a loud squeal.
“Yeah, not so much when Alberto decided to try it,” Lorenzo muttered good-naturedly. “My tail still won’t swim straight.”
“You drove the truck?!”
“You crashed the truck?!”
Giulia and Luca exclaimed, she glanced curiously at her papa who raised his hands innocently. Luca began looking at Alberto’s arms and skin, scouring for any injuries, completely ignoring the rest of the conversation.
“He’ll be sixteen this year, mia figlia, he’ll need at least a year of practice. Nessun problema, your time will come soon.”
“Oh, come on,” Alberto kindly pulled Luca’s hands away and hopped on the rear end beaming down at his family, “it wasn’t so bad for the first time. Plus, she just needs some love and she’ll be right as rain. You guys just can’t see her potential.” He patted the chipped paint fondly. “Not to mention this makes delivery way faster.” Massimo chuckled as Lorenzo continued to grumble and Daniela merely rolled her eyes.
“Si, and speaking of quick deliveries, let’s go home and eat lunch, hm?” Massimo lifted Luca and Giulia's luggage into the bed of the truck while the rest of the family, the Paguro and Marcovaldo families together again at last.
As the truck rattled through the colorful fishing port threatening to fall apart, Giulia and Luca rattled story after story to Alberto and Luca’s parents. Alberto tried to ignore the feelings of jealousy at the way his friends appeared to be so in tune. He laughed politely at their inside jokes and did his best to understand half the jargon they spouted, but in reality, he felt more lost than ever before. Stuffing the uncomfortable feelings down as far they’d go, Alberto helped the Paguro’s down first so that Daniela could help with preparing the food alongside Massimo. While Lorenzo had shown an interest in learning the human ways of cooking, he hadn’t quite managed to pull it off as well.
“You set the curtains on fire one time, and they never let you set foot in the kitchen again,” Lorenzo complained to the kids as he followed his wife.
“Except it wasn’t just the curtains,” Alberto whispered loudly to his best friends who giggled unapologetically.
“ONE TIME!” Lorenzo called hotly from inside.
Giulia smirked at her friends, “Some things never change, amicos.” Grabbing her bag, she turned to the house, “Oh, and Luca don’t forget about your gift!” She winked knowingly at a flustered Luca and befuddled Alberto.
Alberto glanced down at Luca who was doing his best impression of a frozen fish.
“Uh, was that supposed to me-”
“I made you something!!” Luca blurted before slapping a hand over his mouth. He glanced nervously at Alberto, who merely stared back stunned. Fishing in his uniform jacket pocket, Luca wordlessly pulled out the two multicolored bracelets from his pocket and held one out to Alberto. Alberto stood frozen his eyes glued to the green and purple threads glistening in the warm afternoon sun, his mouth hung loose in a silent ‘oh’. The threads danced innocently between them, and Luca felt his bravado begin to waver. When he still hadn’t said anything or moved to take the bracelet from Luca’s grasp, the younger boy grew more flustered and started to pull away, his voice shaking. “I- I’m sorry, you probably think this is so stupid.” Luca tried to not panic, desperately willing his mortification away.
Alberto’s hand shot out to pull both the bracelet and Luca’s hand back. “I can’t believe you made this for me.” He whispered, cradling the bracelet tenderly as he studied it in his palms. He traced the twining threads and smiled at how the pattern reminded him of scales. He looked at Luca and put his arm around him to pull him close. “I love it, thank you. No one’s ever given me something so beautiful.”
“R-really?” Luca asked, his expression hopeful.
“Really. Did you make this too?” Alberto squinted at the painted pearl hanging from the end of the strings, creating a clasp to hold it in place.
“Giulia's mom actually helped me design those with her paints.” Luca motioned to the pearl. “She said that gifts help make the distances feel smaller.” He pondered the delicately painted waves of his own pearl. “It’s funny when I was learning so much and seeing so many places, I never realized how far from home I would feel.” His gaze landed on Alberto, only now realizing how close they were. Up close he could see the new freckles that peppered his cheeks and how his face was slimming down. Nine months of hard work had broadened his shoulders and caused his wiry arms to harden with lean muscle. Clearing his throat, he pulled away again.
“Anyways, I guess we better go inside before the food gets cold.” Blushing as red as Massimo’s favorite wine, Luca threw one last smile over his shoulder and ran inside. Alberto grinned in response and slid the bracelet over his wrist fastening it so that it hugged him snugly. An emotion that he couldn’t quite name filled every part of him, spreading from his toes to the tip of his ears. Walking inside to the smells of homemade pasta and loud laughter, Alberto felt that the promise of a wonderful summer had just begun.

Okay here’s something I had thought of from when I had only seen the trailers that’s been in my head I want to share: so for basic clarification, I thought from one of the trailers the boys would’ve been captured in like, those metal bar crates at the climax of the story, like old fashioned movies. Now to elaborate.
Luca and Alberto had been captured after being seen, as Giulia and Massimo were the only ones trying to convince the town they were good (the town believing they had been brainwashed by tricky sea monsters, like old myths) (don’t know about Luca’s parents) With their pictures taken, they are sent via them in train where they managed to escape from their cages, and jumped out of the sidecars into fields, as it had been raining; running for a while til they find and decide to hide in an old barn in their sea monster forms, and now with the adrenaline crashing, just cuddle up together and cry from relief and stress. They ended up in Switzerland, don’t know how to read or write or anyway to get back.
On the run or taken in by some farm family? Who knows, but we can agree Switzerland is gorgeous. Sorry if this is much, I just wanted to share this somewhere. It kinda sounds like a old fable a small town believes that nobody else does anymore cause of science. 🤷🏻‍♂️
AN: Okay, I didn't write everything in this prompt, but I think I got a lot of the points! I hope you like it :)
__: *✧・゚:*___ >><(((・> ______ >><(((・> ____ _: *✧・゚:*__
Alberto’s wrists burned as Luca untied the rope from around them. He inhaled deeply as he shook his hands to get the blood flowing. The train car stank of rotten wheat and newly caught fish.
“Thanks,” Alberto said. It was his fault they were there. His fault for dropping the umbrella in the rain. His fault that Luca had to rescue him when Ercole pointed a harpoon at him. His fault for falling off the bike. His fault Luca turned back instead of run.
The feeling of nets pressing into his scales still felt present, even though it’d been hours.
“I’m so sorry about all of this Luca,” Alberto said. He stared down at his hands. It was too difficult to look at his friend now. “I’ll get us out of this.”
“Alberto,” Luca put a hand on his shoulder, and Alberto flinched away from it. Luca moved it, letting the hand hover near him without touching. “We’ll get out of this together. It’s not just you anymore. I promise.”
Albert’s heart was in his chest, and he felt it ache. He’d been alone for so long.
When he finally looked up, Luca was sitting next to him with his knees pulled up to his chest. His cheekbones were bruised purple and there was a cut on his arm that matched Alberto’s scar. Behind Luca, Alberto noticed daylight spilling through a hole in the train car.
He nudged Luca and pointed to it.
Luca’s mouth pinched. “Do you think we’d fit through it?
“Maybe?” Alberto stood up. His feet were unsteady beneath him.
Alberto took a deep breath. He had no idea when the train would stop, and he didn’t want to be around to find out.
Hewalked over to the gap in the train car panel. The bottom half of the metal panel was completely rusted, and when Alberto kicked it, the rust crumbled away.
“Luca! Come over here, we can make the hole bigger!” Alberto called behind him. He kicked at the panel again and more light spilled through.
____
Alberto hit the ground hard and started to roll down the grassy hill. The sky spun into the ground over and over and over, until he eventually slowed down. He rolled onto his back and stared up at the sky. The clouds covered the sun, and rain poured onto him. Alberto laid, catching his breath, and taking stock. His ribs hurt, in an aching way. There was a dull throbbing in his shoulder, but he didn’t feel any sharp pains, which was a good sign. He took a slow breath, gently expanding his lungs to check how badly hurt his ribs were. As the skin expanding, he felt a sharp sting and he exhaled hard. He tested the idea of sitting up and felt like he might get sick before he even moved. That was probably less good.
“Alberto?”
Albertocould hear mud squelching as Luca crawled over to him. His face, green and bright against the grey sky, came into Alberto’s view.
“Hey Luca.” Alberto said quietly. It hurt to speak.
“You don’t look so good, Beto.” Luca said.
“Mmng,” Alberto breathed out.
“Can you sit up?”
Alberto shook his head the tiniest bit.
Luca bit his lip and looked around the valley. “I don’t think we can out in the open. They’ll see us,”
Alberto watched Luca’s face as he got more and more stressed. His thoughts felt slow. It was like he was dragging them through sand and murking the water while he did so, but what he did think of was how Luca blended into the grass well enough. And that he must stand out, purple among all the green.
“Alberto!”
“hmm?” Alberto focused on Luca.
“There’s a barn not too far from here.” Luca pointed behind him. Alberto didn’t raise his head to see where he was pointing. “I think we should go in there and dry off.”
“Okay,” Alberto said, keeping his voice quiet.
“You need to get up, Beto,” Luca held out a hand.
Alberto took it, wincing at the pain in his chest as he moved. Luca must have noticed because he slowed his movements. “That’s it. Just a bit more.”
And then Alberto was sitting. Everything spun around him as Luca pulled him to his feet.
“Come on, lean on me.” Luca said, looping an arm around Alberto’s waist to keep him standing. “It’s not too far. We’re going to be okay.”
____
The barn stank, and Alberto crinkled his nose as Luca lowered him down to the ground and leaned him against the wall. “There we go.”
Luca squatted down and wiped the last of Alberto’s scales from his face. His fingers were gentle, barely touching Alberto’s skin, as if he worried that any touch could cause him pain.
“Thanks Luca.”
“Of course.” Luca gave him a small smile. “I saw a blanket near the entrance. I’m going to go get that. I’ll be right back.”
“Okay” Alberto leaned back onto the wall. The wooden panels pressed into his back. He still couldn’t take any deep breaths without his chest hurting. He felt anxiety starting to swell with each of his shallow breathes. He had no idea where they were. No idea how to get home, and, after how the town of Portorosso had treated them, his home no longer felt safe. It was too close to all the hurt.
“It’s a little worn through in places, but it’ll do,” Luca said as he returned with the blanket. It was grey and patterned with plaid. The blanket looked like it might have once been warm, but now it was thin. The sides of it were fraying, and holes dotted the fabric.
Luca draped it over Alberto. “There, that’ll help right?”
Alberto’s foot stuck through one of the holes, but it did help.
Luca sat next to Alberto and wrapped his arms around himself. “That’ll help,” he repeated, more to himself than to Alberto.
“Luca,” Alberto said, his voice strained. He lifted a corner of the blanket. “You too.”
Luca shook his head. “It’s for you.”
Alberto kept holding up the blanket, inviting Luca in.
Luca took a deep breath and gingerly scooted under the blanket. Alberto leaned his head on Luca’s shoulder.
Luca sniffed, and Alberto looked to see a tear rolling down Luca’s face.
“We’re never going to be able to go home.” Luca said. He stared straight ahead, looking beyond the walls of the barn, and imaged the mob of people in Portorosso who’d forced them onto the cages.
Alberto placed his hand on Luca’s thigh, hoping it’d comfort him.
“Portorosso wasn’t your home,” Alberto whispered.
“But they’ll go searching for sea monsters now,” Luca replied quickly. “My whole village—they’ll have to move. What if we do manage to get back and no one is even there?”
“We can’t know that.” Alberto shook his head.
“I never should have raced.” Luca said quietly. “I never—”
“Hey,” Alberto cut him off, louder than he meant to. He coughed, and it sent pangs through this chest. “You were just trying to be a good friend.”
“No, I was a horrible friend, I—”
“No,” Alberto shook his head more vigorously, “this is not your fault.”
“But I—”
“Other people did this to us,” Alberto whispered. He looked into Luca’s eyes. They were red from crying and the skin around his eyes had turned teal and scaley. “It’s their fault.”
“But why would they do this?” Luca said. He sniffed again. “I mean, how could they hate us so much?”
“I don’t know,” Alberto replied quietly. “But that doesn’t mean it’s your fault.”
Luca wiped the tears away with the sleeve of his shirt. “I guess.”
“I know.” Alberto scooted down so that he was lying on the ground. “We should sleep. Figure out the rest in the morning.”
“Yeah, we probably should.” Luca laid down next to him.
“Goodnight Luca.” Alberto said, curling into himself and closing his eyes.
He heard Luca shift next to him before he felt Luca’s arm wrap around his back and pull him closer. A tear fell onto his face, and then Luca’s face was near his. Breathing warmth onto his face. “Goodnight, Beto.”

OR!!!! Or something about big sad gay wip!! That one doesn’t take up too much of my headspace because I know literally nothing about it but that’s subject to change if I actually ask about it
Ah yes..... big sad gay wip...... my beloved mortal enemy...
I've been holding back sharing any info on it bc I've been so unsure of the tone and angstiness of it. And it's constantly evolving. This'll likely be a bit incoherent, bc so much is still up in the air, but here's a bit of the... concept and process? or something
I'm trying very hard to keep it brief. Yeah, this long as fuck post is me being brief.
First it started as a pretty generic Luberto first time fic, but it grew and grew and grew into something that could/will probably be 30-50k, including some relationship/communication issues between them, and a bit of "figuring out how to live their lives safely but happily as young queer adults". (It's already 25k and I am barely... Halfway. Maybe. So. Lol.)
Then I had the idea, "what if Alberto curbed his loneliness, hunger for affection, and the inherent loneliness of growing up as a young queer kid in a small town with little to no affirmation it's okay to be gay, by cruising/having a lot of casual sex and it fucked up his relationship to his own sexuality?"
Which already is a preeeeeetty big thing to explore both with him individually and with how he and Luca would get together and how their relationship would progress without all the "first time fic" ideas I had before that.
SO what was originally the "big sad gay wip" has become the "first time fic".
first time fic: will be without the aforementioned Alberto angst and be something long form and focus more on relationship difficulties/arguing between them mainly re: Luca applying to university and figuring out how serious their relationship really is, and figuring out how to live safely as young queer adults and general themes of growing up I guess? These snippets are from what is now the first time fic. (”first time fic” probably isn’t a good descriptor for it anymore, but that’s all I can think of as a name for it - bc what it started with was capturing their first time)
the new big sad gay wip: will be featuring the Alberto+sex angst, but it's very loose currently. I'm trying to not restrict myself or wrangle it into a narrative yet, what I have is 13.5k in various sections that are barely chronological. I'm struggling to figure out how angsty/whumpy it's gonna be. Right now the answer is very.
inserting a break here for cw/tw about underage sex/sexual abuse/assault and some gray-area consent in the next indented paragraphs, just in case - feel free to skip ahead
I have some heavy sections where Massimo's fishermen colleagues take advantage of him regularly, and Alberto starts thinking Massimo is in on it, that he's consciously letting the other fishermen have a go at him so he can earn his keep basically. There's also a scene where Alberto asks if Massimo wants the same from him. Really leaning into the daddy issues here.
When the boys more or less get together, Luca doesn’t know any of this and is overjoyed and excited to finally get to kiss and touch him, but Alberto’s just... being really antsy and avoidant. Luca thinks he’s just shy and after waiting patiently for a while, tries being more forwards. When Alberto reacts badly he gets really anxious and guilty about whether Alberto even wants to be with him and if he’s been forcing himself on him but Alberto is too kind/afraid to lose his friendship to say no.
BUT I just am not sure. It feels almost too angsty. I like it! It’s just almost too much. Idk. Figuring it out.
Now for what the plot is? No clue yet. Just know of the inner conflicts, not the outer. I’m not good at threading things together in a narrative, or even having enough scene ideas to make a whole narrative. But I don't wanna rush it either. This is like the fic I want to write, you know? I'm scared to rush it. So I'm just letting it marinate and writing whatever I feel like might fit when I feel like it and doing my best to just see what happens and trust the process that it will end up as something.
I think splitting them up is for the best and that it will make both easier to write! Before splitting them I was in a much bigger conflict regarding the tone running through it all, now both feel a lot clearer and more concise and easier to tack ideas onto. (If you click through the tag for the “first time fic”, skim those and compare to the indented section about the “new big sad gay wip” I think you can see why the two are hard to combine.)
I HOPE THIS MAKES SENSE, I have been dying to talk about it but feeling like I shouldn't show my hand, you know? Especially since I am super aware it's prone to changing even more. But I'm trying to be more open with it and trying to explain it to outside eyes helps a lot! I typed this all up on Monday and on Tuesday I was making new progress! also it's christmas! time to be sharing and caring or something! even though it kinda terrifies me to the point of shaking clicking post on this bc I’m so anxious about this idea
Thanks for asking! <3 Now both of these can live in your mind too if you want

He stashed the photos--really he flung them like a frisbee--onto his unmade bed and slammed the door shut before Giulia could inquire about his back pressed to the door, hands on the knob, a cross of a nervous grin and a suspicious glaze over his wavering eyes. But, after careful consideration and with both his sister and father's backs turned, Alberto wiggled back into his room to retrieve the precious pictures and put them carefully on the nightstand. He felt dirty knowing he'd tossed them onto his rumpled sheets, sitting there like he didn't care about them.
But he did.
He didn't expect to register all that had truly happened until tomorrow. His eyes dropped to the glass of tepid water from that morning and the pile of photos next to it, the memories coming back.
Luca's expectant yellow eyes watching him as he traced his shapes and scales with a paintbrush on the canvas.
When Luca grinned like a little puppy and pointed at the painting Alberto had propped on his knees, of none other than the boy himself.
Luca's chin jutting out in defiance when Alberto offered to take Luca's picture home, since keeping it at his home would only result in ruining it.
And, equally defying, the sharp curve of Luca's jawbone as he stuck his tongue out at the sky, leaving Alberto still. He could see his soft features working under there. The faint pulse of his throat, a thrumming instrument but all the same slightly animal. When he had rolled his eyes and begrudgingly scooted his own painting over with a claw, splattering water on the edge, Alberto's eyes fixed on his scales ripple and shift on display when Luca moved.
Somewhere on the surface of the ocean, (the ocean skin as Luca called it fondly, but Alberto couldn't possibly think of that now) a boat's amber light hung in the darkness, the only thing to see from outside and, Alberto bit his lip, holding one meaning.
They were hunting for sea monsters on that boat. Ercole's parents, no doubt.
He walked by the bed to the window, almost in a trance, and slammed it shut. The smells of the sea were cut off, night sounds silenced. He wished he wasn't able to see it anymore, but Massimo's aged house hardly had the proper plumbing to operate let alone some goddamn curtains. It frustrated him that though the mental image of Ercole's father on the boat had lifted, that glowing yellow light remained to taunt him.
Luca said he had a family. A mother and father who cared for him and maybe loved him enough to keep him safe from the surface. But where was he now? These men, more monsters than people, with spears and blades sharper than Massimo's, scanning the calm sea with searchlights? Would the lights scare Luca?
He caught himself on the ledge of the windowsill, holding the wood frame tight. He felt it sigh under his weight it was so old.
What was happening?
"Fratello! Papa is not happy that you're letting his dinner get cold! Again!" Giulia, as Alberto could tell by her voice, was pressed to his closed door and resorted to gleeful knocking again and again.
Alberto slid the lock into place on the window, staring out into the night for a breath. Once, twice, then cleared his throat and called back.
"I'll be just a minute!" He tried to wipe the thought of Luca thrashing in the grip of a fisherman's net from his mind as he spoke, but his words came out wobbly and restrained.
Giulia's annoying pounding on the door stopped. "Okay, but I'm not doing your stupid chores for you anymore! Papa says so!" He saw her shadow hover by the bottom doorframe then whisk away to the light of the kitchen.
But through all of the sweaty panic Alberto cherished the quiet moments spent eating. Neither asked where he'd hurried off to so early in the morning while he wolfed down his dinner. (Truly Alberto wasn't sure of the answer himself, he only figured that if Luca was indeed a sea monster, maybe he was up with the rising of the sun like the fish Massimo and Alberto caught at dawn). But they, mostly Giulia, did however beg to know where that pasta was going if all Alberto did during his free time was sit and draw. They didn't know it took grueling work to paddle out to the island, and equally challenging talent to wrestle your way out of a sea monster's grip. He kept that to himself, of course, even if Machiavelli was snippier than usual at Alberto's presence when he thought about it, bringing a suspicion on what he did during the day that neither Giulia or Massimo seemed to care about.
Alberto nudged the pouchy white cat with his bare foot and Machi bit down on his heel. He pulled his legs back under the chair as far as they could go and as an apology for the fishy smell on him, and for trying to make him move, he dropped a few pieces of sausage down on the floor. He was sure that if no one else in the house was to know, Machiavelli was on Alberto's case, but the cat only growled and ate the peace offering.
He sighed. He was safe for the time being. That made him laugh around his bite of salad.
"Think of something funny, son?" Massimo looked up from his plate. Giulia had finished long ago and was only spinning her fork around in circles on the tablecloth.
Alberto nodded with a smile. "The cat."
"Speaking of cats! There's one that I keep seeing in the alley by the Gelataria, Papa, and I think that Machiavelli likes her!" Giulia perked up and was speaking with passion to Massimo now, Alberto's little quip forgotten.
"The black cat? Giulia, they're bad luck," Massimo put on his best apologetic face but it only spurred Giulia on. Alberto stared at his empty plate and debated whether now was the opportune time to slip away to his room with them distracted.
"But please, Papa! We could have kittens!" Giulia pleaded, hands splayed on the table for effect. From under Alberto's chair Machi was stewing. He stood from the table and took their plates, looking calm. Massimo was holding Giulia's small hand softly in his larger one, but it looked as though the girl was next to tears.
Alberto knew she was faking it, though. He listened smugly with his back to them while rinsing the plates and cutlery.
"Kittens are a lot of work."
"Alberto is a lot of work, but we still keep him around!"
"Giuletta. Manners."
"Sorry, Papa."
"Where would they sleep, Giulia? In your bed with you? You are allergic, my dear."
"Only mildly! And besides, if I start sneezing or something, they can stay in Alberto's room! Plain and simple."
"Excuse me?" Alberto whipped around. "Who said that I was okay with having roommates?"
Giulia giggled until her nose went pink. "You've been sharing that Pescaria smell with the two of us since yesterday, and last I checked, we didn't ask. So think of it as an upgrade."
"Like you smell any better!"
"Actually, Alberto." Massimo turned to him. "It...is an odd smell on you. It's not entirely fish."
"Yeah fratello. It's worse."
"Okay, that's it. I'm excusing myself now. Giulia you get to pick the record to play tonight."
"Go take a shower!" Giulia hollered at him, earning a grumble of disapproval on Massimo's part.
"Y-Yeah, sure thing!"
But the whole time his mind was reeling. Massimo had caught it. Giulia had caught it. Even the cat noticed it, too. Alberto pulled his tank up and over his head once the door was shut, bringing it to his nose. It smelled like sweat and salt, the usual things, but he was right. There was something else. It was mild with his nose so close, but still sharp and tangy, as if the sea-sprinkled wind had a personality that stuck to his clothes.
But that wasn't it. It was...oh no.
It was Luca.
Despite his efforts, it took him a solid ten minutes of scrubbing in the shower to get rid of Luca's smell. It wasn't that he hated it, he was used to smelling like fish from hours spent on Massimo's boat--but Machi had kept Alberto up almost all night yesterday, growling and scratching at Alberto's door because of the smell on him.
From in the kitchen, Giulia had chosen one of Massimo's more upbeat records to listen to while they finished cleaning up. He could hear her off-key singing, and Massimo's baritone jumping in with her, which made him smile.
The polaroids were still there, sticking out from underneath a sliver of the water glass. But of course they were, why wouldn't they be? Door locked, window overlooking the sea mostly covered, Alberto let his bath towel fall to his ankles. A line of shower water tickled his chin, or maybe it was sweat, he wasn't sure. He needed to get dressed. But he picked up the first of five photos.
A blurry little square of the pool that morning, just to test the camera, but around the edges sprigs of grass sprouted up through cracks in the island rock, making the picture much more beautiful than he thought.
The next three were of Luca. All taken as close to the top of the water as Alberto could get, too afraid to stick a hand under and gesture Luca to the surface, and also because it wasn't his camera. Body curled under the water, examining things along the walls of the pool too far to see, tail moving slow and practiced. His dorsal fins were the only things that translated best over film, a brilliant cool blue that Alberto had checked (and double-checked) he had the right color paint for.
He let out a tiny sigh at the final photo. Luca facing him from below, his expression a scowl, looking so human it was hard to believe that he wasn't.
But, as Alberto's fingers pinched the corners of the photos, of Luca, holding his breath as he knew it was definitely sweat he was now feeling on his neck, wasn't he human?
His chest ached, drumming a painful harmony from his frantic heart all the way down his abdomen, and if he moved the photos from his line of vision and looked down--
Oh no.
He relentlessly put everything he had into hurrying to throw on some clothes and turn off the lights. crawling into bed, so transfixed on the polaroids and—was it possible? Really? Had he just…?
No. He refused to encourage that line of thinking.
Luca was a sea monster, and probably asleep someplace far below the surface with his family, dreaming of seaweed or whatever else things that were not human thought about.
But, as Alberto lay there rigid and aching, staring at the ceiling waiting for that to go away, part of him wished he could be there with him. To make sure he was okay.
Pfft, sure. Make sure he's alright. That's all.
/ / /
Luca was not dreaming of seaweed.
But he was convinced he had died in his sleep, over a dream of soft touches. Phantom hands running down his scales, someone's calloused fingertips grazing the hollow of his throat so tenderly it made Luca squirm. Luca grabbed his imaginary person's forearm, begging to be touched. One hand remained tracing patterns on his chest while Luca felt another take hold of the side of his face, rubbing circles into his gills until he was sure he was going to pass out from the stimulation. He was so...sensitive there. Around his cheeks and his gills and especially his tail. But all he could do was tilt his face back in guilty bliss and allow whatever was happening to him to continue.
He'd never in all of his years had a dream quite like this.
"P-Please..." Luca whispered. Please stop, or please keep going? Even he didn't know.
He swore he heard a chuckle echo, a familiar chuckle, a confident one, but some sort of reaction all the same.
Luca blinked in his dream, almost crying out because the touch was gone, but then he realized it had only moved. The imaginary touches returned, this time a cool fingertip along his dorsal fin to his tail, while Luca shivered around it, biting his cheek. His legs twitched, and his tail curled around the forearm of this imaginary hand, feeling safe and comfortable enough to do so even if it was touching him in ways his mother had warned him about. The air around him (around them? no one was there) felt absurdly warm, but he realized it was only coming from his scales. The smell that hung in the air was overpowering, thick and heady in sweetness with just a trace of salt that Luca could almost taste in the air. A familiar smell...
He couldn't take much more of it. He had to wake up before...something happened. Something bad.
The cold water of his bedroom startled him into consciousness, the subdued blues and greys in much starker contrast to the tropical greens he'd dreamt of. That white-hot feeling came back, this time stronger and with a ripple of pain that burned in the pit of his stomach. When he opened his eyes the water around his bed felt warmer, like it had in the dream, and when Luca stretched out a hand his fingers were cool though his forearm was not, as if he was the one causing all of this heat.
Huh. Weird.
The last memories of the dream were still a thick haze on his thoughts, racing around and replaying the scenes over and over again until Luca buried his face into the sewn kelp of his bed to keep from whimpering.
He let his hand press to his belly, where it hurt the most, then slip down the waistband of his pants to rest between his legs. His fingers came back covered in something slick.
"Alberto..." Luca whined, rolling onto his stomach to alleviate some of the discomfort.
His eyes flung open. Alberto?
Oh.
Oh no.

So on my old blog, I would occasionally give my unsolicited thoughts and opinions on shows or movies (usually ones that either had a lot of hype or were just straight up bad). I just watched "365 Dni" aka "365 Days" because I had a couple hours to kill so be prepared for mental spewage because it's my blog and I do what I want.
Wait I thought this was a romantic thriller. They're talking about human trafficking. This is already gross.
Michele Morrone is very good looking though and I've been obsessed with his face for the last few weeks.
This whole conversation about these girls getting trafficked is gross.
Yes. Let's be extra pervy during a pervy business meeting and check out the girl on the beach with our binoculars.
Hold up. Why did they get shot?
I don't know what's going on. Freaking Italian mob, man.
This song about being addicted to someone that's playing while people are bleeding out on the ground seems tonally inappropriate.
So far we've seen Italy, San Francisco, and Warsaw. I didn't know we were globetrotting.
And we switched from Italian to Polish to English. Sure.
Yeah. Michele Morrone could get it. Also he survived being shot.
Is that the same girl from the beach? Probably. Why not.
They do a lot of spinning shots and it's making me dizzy.
So far this is a very expensive foreign Lifetime movie.
Yes. Because everyone takes boob shots in the back of their Uber while sober.
Homegirl's boyfriend looks like they picked him out of a burly henchman catalogue.
Yup. Michele Morrone is stupid hot. Even just sitting down he's hot.
Oh good. We've transitioned from potential human trafficking to cocaine.
Well damn. This is fairly explicit for a "mainstream" film.
Cool. I share a name with the female lead.
Still don't know the male lead's name yet.
Everybody in this movie is either stupid hot or stupid ugly. There is no middle ground.
Yes, Michele. Creeping up on this girl on a darkly lit path saying "Are you lost, little girl?" is definitely going to win you all the points.
I don't understand why writers insist on putting powerful women with schlubby dudes. It's tired and cliched and inevitably leads to annoying arguments.
Yes. Let's wander around Sicily at night all alone. That's totally safe.
And my point is proven.
I hope if I ever get kidnapped and holed up in some random ass castle in Sicily my makeup looks as good as Laura's.
So this just turned into a horror movie.
Called it about Laura being the girl on the beach.
Yeah, that's not creepy at all, dude. Let's obsess over a girl we might have hallucinated for five years and then kidnap her and give her a year to fall in love with you. Solid plan.
This is literally making my skin crawl.
Ah yes. "I won't do anything without your permission" he says as he literally grabs and sexually assaults her.
So basically this is trying to be "erotic thriller, Beauty and the Beast style".
Her pulling a gun on him has been the best thing so far.
I'm so confuuuuuused.
That's nothing new though. I live in a state of perpetual confusion.
Why the hell is there a man chained to a rock in this dude's basement.
I have many concerns.
Also his name is Massimo so that's good to know.
Besides the man chained in his basement his house is pretty cool.
Just kidding the man is no longer chained in the basement since he now has a bullet in his head.
I'm only 30 minutes in and this has been a wild ride.
"I'm not a bag of potatoes you can move without my permission!" is very Polish and as somebody who's family is Polish I'm living for it.
I'm going to need him to stop laying hands on her.
Whoever chose the music made some odd choices.
He keeps watching her sleep and it's creepy.
And there he goes grabbing her again.
I do like that she's giving him a lot of attitude and isn't putting up with his shit but you know that's going to change 🙄
Yes. Go spend all his money, honey.
He is disrespectful as hell.
I don't care how hot he is, he's creepy and abusive and I don't like it.
"I am not the monster you think I am." You would be incorrect, my dude.
Like, she went on vacation with her boyfriend and friends, and I can't for the life of me figure out why they aren't looking for her unless they explained it and I missed it.
Pierogi. The most romantic of Polish foods.
"I do business." He's a drug trafficker, honey. Run away. Run far, far away.
Honestly I would turn this off if I wasn't so far in it already.
I feel like I have to see this trainwreck through to the end.
"I would like you to show me how to be gentle for you" would be more appealing if HE LITERALLY HAD NOT KIDNAPPED, ABUSED, AND ASSAULTED HER.
Ew. Did he sneak in her bed while she slept?
One good dinner and now she's all "let's gently touch him in bed and take a shower in front of him" 🙄
Why is this bathroom set up like a communal shower? It's weird.
Although to be fair if he hopped in the shower with me I'd check him out too 🤷
They tied her to the seat in the plane. What the hell.
I'm so uncomfortable.
Ugh. Why. Why is this a thing.
So far this has been creepier than 50 Shades and 50 Shades is creepy as hell.
Hold on. I thought they were at a hotel. Why does he have a giant ass portrait of himself hanging up in his room?
I. Am. Uncomfortable.
Oh man. He has a nice butt.
Don't get distracted by the pretty man, Laura.
Onscreen Laura too.
He asked her to teach him how to be gentle, then handcuffs her to the bed and makes her watch while he hooks up with another woman.
Yup. Doing a great job there, Massimo.
Cool I'm back to being confused.
She can't walk in her heels and I'm dying laughing. Same, girl, same.
"What are you wearing?" "A couple thousand euro of yours." GET HIM.
Now we've entered the Scarface phase of the movie because there was just a copious amount of cocaine snorted.
Where did he pull two guns from??
So I don't know how long she's been with him at this point. I feel like that's something that needs to be clarified.
And she fell off the boat.
Of course she did.
Oh man. Why's he gotta be so cute with his fluffy curls and stubble and tattoos?
Also I'm pretty sure he only owns like two shirts because he's walked around shirtless for most of this movie.
We are now in the part of the movie where we've screamed awful things at each other and now we're going to bone it out.
All over the boat. Like every surface of the boat they have now banged on.
If y'all were dissatisfied with the raunchiness of the 50 Shades series, this is the movie for you because it far surpasses that.
Of course they're going to a ball. They always do in these rich people movies.
Makeover montage because why not.
Oh no. He's hot in a tux.
It always cracks me up in movies when people just automatically know how to ballroom dance like professionals without any training.
Every time I think this movie can't get more cliched, it does.
Why do I do this to myself? Why do I subject myself to bad movies?
I take it back. I know why I did it this time. The reason is 6'2" and looks damn good in a button up shirt.
"I thought you were kidnapped!" She was. You were a good friend for thinking that.
The switching between languages is giving me whiplash. It's very jarring going from Italian to Polish to English to Polish to Italian.
Her friend seeing through her bullshit is giving me life.
Also loving the fact that she's acknowledging she has Stockholm Syndrome. But because it's a movie it won't change anything.
Another makeover montage? So soon?
Also her friend keeps calling Massimo Mozzarella and it's hilarious.
That wig looks like it's about to crawl off her head.
Of course the ex shows up.
Honestly just knee him in the nuts and be done with it.
Why does Massimo think it's okay to break into her apartment and wait in the dark for her?
I don't know who thought using a blue light for her apartment was a good idea but it just looks like they're in a giant tanning booth.
"I don't need 365 days... Because I love you." GIRL NO.
I mean it was inevitable but it's still gross.
Yup. That's normal. Let's marry our kidnapper.
I want to snatch that wig off her head.
"What are your intentions with our daughter?" You don't want to know what his intentions are with your daughter, sir.
I will say that I love all her clothes in this movie.
Also she's pregnant. Calling it right now.
Called it.
Also good to know they've only known each other two months and they're going to get married and have a baby 👀
Her best friend is my favorite character and is the only likeable person in this whole movie.
Plot twist. Shocker.
This is so dramatic.
I will give them credit for the ending because that was unexpected.
In summary, this movie is trash and while the "love" scenes are pretty hot, it's not worth the time or effort that I clearly put into this.

(Kindness)
Part 22 of Sofia AU
Timoteo leans back, mostly resigned to be a casual observer to this. The girl is terrified of him, Timoteo is under no illusion that if Xanxus wasn’t here, she wouldn’t be here either. He had expected it, of course, it had not escaped Timoteo’s notice that Xanxus had been, and still is, actively keeping them apart. Their first meeting has been mostly geared to cause that sort of reaction. Back then, Timoteo had thought she’d be of no consequence. An omega for his heir to keep, a way to continue the line despite young Bianca’s infertility. He’d needed her to understand her position, to respect it and not stray from it. He had had no idea of the close relationship she apparently already had with Xanxus. An innocent, childish connection his older brothers have helped Xanxus keep hidden.
Irresponsibility it might have been but Timoteo can’t bring himself to reprimand them for it. Not when he’s never quite seen Xanxus so at peace with himself as when he’s around this omega he’s claimed for himself. He still wished he had been told a little more. He wouldn’t have changed his decision, he would have still wanted her for Federico but he would have been kinder about it. He sighs subtly, leaning forward and watching her disappear a little more into Xanxus's hold, she disguises it as a cuddle but Timoteo has been observing. He notices.
She murmurs something into Xanxus's ears, making Timoteo's youngest smirk. Coyote arches a brow when she steals a piece of meat and gets away with it. "How do you think they met?"
Since he doesn't know, Timoteo turns to Federico. His heir is watching him silently, still tense and still distrusting. It aches deep in Timoteo's chest. Federico's smile is sardonic, "I don't know how they ran across each other," he shrugs. "He growled at her."
"Growled?" Coyote leans back, turning back to Xanxus who is simply ignoring them.
"Yes," Massimo leans in from his other side, particularly eager to share his gossip. "She didn't let him get away with it. He was impressed."
"Is that what the shells were all about?"
Enrico chuckles, "two shells and a pretty rock."
"I have a collection now," she announces, still in Xanxus's lap but apparently deciding that it's safe enough to participate in the conversation. "I got a crystal last time."
"A crystal?" Massimo leans in, always eager to find out new information about his brothers.
"Yes," she scrolls through Xanxus's phone, finding the right picture to show off. "It's cute."
"It is," Enrico agrees, eyeing Xanxus in bemusement. "And just why was Xanxus growling at you?"
"He needed to be up," she shrugs lazily, doing nothing to hide her delight. "So I got him up."
Xanxus snorts, pulling on her hair gently and stealing one of the pancakes. "I got up alright. And you were pouting for hours."
She hadn't exactly expected his reaction but Sofia still counts it as a win. Her crystal is huge, too. "Worth it," Sofia snorts right back, humming when he cups the curve of her neck. "I got you there in time."
"You did," Xanxus leans back, sending a sour look to this second in command. "Don't we have a meeting to deal with?"

And here's the final chapter! Let's Stay Together
It was late at night and Doria was sleeping after a long, hard, busy day. Maria got up and packed her personal items into a crab shell bag and set a note on the her bed and started sneaking out out her home, but before she left, she decided to bring Alberto's record player along so they could listen to music together. Before heading above depth, she took one last look at her home and smiled, "I promise I'll be safe." She said and started swimming above depth out of the kingdom towards the current. Maria went inside the current and started swimming through it back to Italian Riviera, where Alberto was.
Alberto woke up the next morning quickly running down stairs and running up to Giulia before she headed out to take care of fish deliveries with Luca. "Hey Giulia, mind if I speak to you for a sec?" He asked grabbing Giulia's arm and heading back upstairs to her room, "What is it, Alberto?" She asked "I wanna get Maria something really special. Like something that means a promise or that we'll stay together no matter what happens!" Alberto said, "Like... and engagement ring?" Giulia said "YES!... What's an engagement ring?" Alberto asked "Its a ring indicating that the person wearing it is engaged to be married, its like a promise to stay together forever." Giulia explained, "Yes, that's perfect!" Alberto shouted "Where can I get one?" "I know someone in town that sells jewelry, maybe they can help you get one." Giulia said, "Perfect! Let's go!" Alberto said grabbing Giulia's arm again and racing downstairs to her bike and hopped on, "We'll be right back, guys! C'mon, Giulia!" Alberto said and Giulia quickly hopped on her bike and started riding up the hill the the person that sells jewelry. Giulia parked her bike by the door and went infront a building with a tent outside on top and a window with jewelry separated in boxes at the bottom, "Ciao, Mr. Miguel, my friend here would like to buy an engagement ring." Giulia said, "What kind?" Mr. Miguel asked, he was bald with scars on his face and a muscular chin and wore an eyepatch over his left eye and was wearing a avocado green shirt with white shorts on and slip on brown shoes. "Well? Which one do you prefer, Alberto? Giulia asked "Hmm, do you have any ocean-like ones?" Alberto asked, "Ohh, I have plenty, Amico. Be right back." He said disappearing into his store. A few minutes later, he came back with a medium sized box of rings, some were silver with ocean blue diamonds on them and some were gold with sapphire blue diamonds on them. There were so many to choose from, they were really pretty too, Alberto had no idea which one to choose, he put his hand inside the box and started moving some of the rings around so he can see what else was underneath them. At the very bottom, he found a ring that Maria might like, Alberto grabbed it and took it out the box, "That's my goddess of the sea ring. You want to buy?" Mr. Miguel asked, Alberto nodded and Giulia gave Mr. Miguel the money to pay for the ring, "Let me get a beautiful box you can put the ring in!" Mr. Miguel said and once again, vanished into his dark home to scavenger around for the perfect box for a perfect ring.
A few miles off the coast, Maria swam up to the surface to see if she was heading the right way, she looked and saw the two islands, one separated and one bigger than it with buildings on it. Yep, this was the place. Maria took a deep breathe and swam towards the island with the town while still holding Alberto's record player with the magical singing lady. Maria's shadow hovered past Luca who was putting his fish herd away, Luca looked up and saw Maria and started swimming towards her. "MARIA!" He yelled excitedly hugging her, "Hehe, hey Luca! Sorry I was gone for so long, my aunt kept worrying about my scars and was trying to keep me home until they were 'ok' on her side." Maria said "Its so good to see you again! Alberto's been missing you, like REALLY missing you." Luca said, "Oh, uhh, well, I'm here now! Where is he?" Maria asked "He's with Giulia, they went to get something I think." Luca said, "Ok, c'mon!" Maria said and started swimming to town with Luca.
Once on shore, Maria headed towards Giulia's home and went inside. Massimo was in the kitchen preparing some food, "Hi Massimo!" Maria said, "Welcome back, Maria. How's your wounds?" He asked, "They're all healed and well!" Said Maria, "That's good, you must be hungry after a long trip back. Please, sit and eat." Massimo said. Maria sat down at the table setting her stuff and Alberto's record player down on the ground and began to eat her pasta. Once finished, Maria went to the tree to decorate it to surprise Alberto. She put seashells around the edges of the wooden bed and set down the record player right in the center, she thought it was perfect and that Alberto was gonna like it. Maria started climbing through the window into Giulia's bedroom and began heading downstairs. Luca went outside and saw Giulia and Alberto heading their way back, he panicked and quickly ran to Massimo. "Alberto's back! Quick, take him with you to catch fish!" Luca said, "But Maria's here. He would want to see her first." Massimo said "Its a surprise! Maria doesn't want to spoil it!" Luca said and Massimo headed outside to Giulia and Alberto setting down the bike, "just in time, Alberto. Come, we have some more fish to catch." He said. Alberto put the boxed ring in his pocket and followed Massimo to the docks and jumped onto the boat and started heading out to the open water. Giulia went inside and saw Maria standing next to Luca, "Maria! Your back!" Giulia shouted in excitement and hugged her, "Hehe, its good to see you too, Giulia! Where's Alberto? Luca told me he was with you." Maria asked, "Oh, he's with my Papa hunting for some fish." Giulia said then looked down at Maria's dress, it had ripped holes from the shark bite and was stained with blood, but Giulia seemed more worried about the dress then Maria's wounds. "Aye, Maria! Your dress! C'mon, lets head back to the tailor. He'll make you a new one." Giulia said grabbing Maria's hand and heading outside to her bike as they hop on and started heading back to the tailor. They hopped off the bike and placed it near the entrance and headed inside, "Ciao, Chipo! We're back!" Giulia said, "Welcome back, Mia- DIO MIO! What happened, Amica!?" He said looking at Maria's ripped bloody dress, "She was attacked by a shark, but she's ok now." Giulia said "Sorry about the dress, do you think you can make a new one?" She asked. "Of course! Anything for a friend! And you need to be careful out in the waters. It may look pretty, but there's all kinds of predators down there!" Chipo said to Maria, "I'll be sure to be more careful next time." Maria said following him to the back so he can make a new dress for her.
Doria woke up and headed to Maria's room to wake her up for school, but her room was empty. There was a note on her bed, she picked it up and it read: 'Dear aunt Doria, I left early, by the time you read this I'm already at Italian Riviera with Alberto! Relax, I'm fine :).' Doria shook her head and smiled then set the note down and put on her crab gear, grabbed her weapons, and headed outside to go start her job on protecting her kingdom.
Massimo started pulling the net up when he noticed Alberto looking inside a small box. "Is that for Maria?" He asked, "Yeah, its an engagement ring! I'm gonna ask her to stay with me." Alberto said and showed the ring to Massimo "I'm sure she'll love it." Massimo said smiling, "I think so too!" Alberto said closing the box and putting it back in his pocket. They continued pulling the net up with another load of fish and started heading back to shore. After waiting a few moments, Maria came out wearing a 1950's light blue rockabilly polka dot Audrey retro vacation summer dress. "Whoa, you look amazing!" Giulia said "Thanks, you think Alberto will like it?" Maria asked "Of course he will!" Giulia said while heading back outside "Thanks, Chipo!" Giulia said waving goodbye to the tailor "Bye, Giulia! Come back soon! And be careful!" He said and Maria and Giulia hopped on the bike and headed back home.
Alberto and Massimo went inside and set the net full of fish down in the corner, "I'll prepare dinner, you go on upstairs to your friend." Massimo said. Alberto went upstairs to Giulia's room and went through the window to the tree, when he was in the tree, he saw his magical singing lady gift he got for Maria and there were seashells around the edges. His eyes widened open to think that Maria was here, Maria headed upstairs with Giulia and the window was open, Maria climbed through the window to see Alberto checking out her decorations. "Do you like it?" Maria said and Alberto turned around and saw her wearing a new beautiful light blue polka dot vacation summer dress, "Whoa, nice dress! Sorry about your old one..." He said "That's okay! Sorry for being gone for so long..." Maria said "... You know how protective my aunt is." "Yeah, I remember..." He said remembering her warning that if he's not careful with protecting Maria, she's coming after him. "Luca told me that you and Giulia went and got something, what was it?" Maria asked, "Oh, right!" Alberto said and grabbed Maria's hand and they both sat down on the wooden board next to the record player.
"Maria, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for 'kinda' faking being in love with you. I just wanted to hang out with you to forget my jealousy of my best friend Luca, he's been hanging out with Giulia all the time and it made me feel isolated. But then meeting you and realizing how much fun I had with you made me realize how much you mean to me, how happy I am with you." Said Alberto,
"Me too! Back at home, I was kind of this kid who breaks the rules and wrecks everything... I even ruined Emily's friendship with her long-time friends. I was just... an outsider... I thought that's how my life was gonna be, just a reckless kid who never learns. But then, I met you! You made me feel like myself again! And I haven't felt like myself in a while, but you helped change that! You showed me that staying with you I'm free to be myself and do whatever I want! And I thank you for that. And when you went after me down into the Midnight Zone, I thought I didn't deserve the rescue since I've done very little to earn it, especially from you." Maria said and smiled "And I'm happy to be with you too."
"Then let's make it official, to stay together forever!" Alberto said pulling out a small, royal blue box and opening it revealing a sterling silver ring with a mermaid on it. "This is a goddess of the sea engagement ring I got from Giulia's jewelry seller friend." He said putting it on Maria's ring finger and holding both of her hands. "Maria, will you stay and live here with me in Portorroso?" Alberto asked, "Yes, of course!" Maria said and hugged Alberto. "Ok... Silencio Bruno..." He said sighing, "what're you doing?" Maria asked "I saw human couples do this, and honestly, its nerve-racking." Alberto said blushing "What?" Maria said. Alberto took a really deep breathe "Silencio Bruno!" He said and quickly kissed Maria on the lips. Maria was surprised, but went with it and kissed back while hugging Alberto, "Ti Amo!" Alberto said ((I love you)), Maria giggled and spoke in her siren language, "Lu fow, that means 'I love you' in Murine Siren language." She said smiling. Alberto smiled back, "Anyways, wanna get some ice cream? My treat!" "Hehe, sure!" Maria said and they stood up and hopped down from the tree and opened the wooden gate to go and get some strawberry ice cream while holding hands.
When they got their ice creams, they went and sat over by the water at the docks and watched the sunset, "I'm really happy to be staying here with you, Alberto." Said Maria, "Me too." Alberto said, "Ah, how nice of you two fish freaks to enjoy a relaxing sunset pretending to be 'normal' when your not." Ercole said walking up to them. Alberto sighed, "Do you mind going someplace else?" "Do YOU mind taking a bath once in a while?" Ercole said while pushing Alberto into the water and he transformed back into a sea monster, Ercole started laughing, "Talk about swimming with the fishes!" Maria then went down to help Alberto up and dragged Ercole down into the water and he was all soaking wet and screaming, "'Talk about swimming with the fishes,' huh?" Maria copied and she and Alberto started laughing. Ercole started getting out of the water, "You will pay for this!" He said and ran off. "I wanted to go for a swim anyways, what about you?" Maria asked Alberto "Yeah, me too. Race to my island? I still have stuff there I want to show you." He said, "Sure." Maria said and they both dove underwater and started swimming towards Alberto's island, Alberto showed Maria all the human stuff he collected and Maria was impressed with the stuff he had. They brought the record player with the magical singing lady and played it, Alberto took Maria's hand and started dancing with her.
"What are you doing?" She asked
"Its called dancing! I basically invented it." Said Alberto twirling Maria
Maria giggled, "How do I do this?"
"Just let the music control your body and it makes you dance." Alberto said
Maria started spinning and skipping like it was a ballet as Alberto watched in amazement. He then grabbed her hand again and they both started dancing with each other spinning, skipping and twirling.
After a few hours of showing Maria all the cool human stuff, they swam back home and ate some pasta. They went back up to Giulia's room and climbed through her window to the tree and layed down together looking at the starry night sky. "This was the best day ever." Maria said happily, "I know, right? And are you sure that you aunt isn't gonna come here and take you back?" Alberto asked nervous that her aunt would return to check if he's taking care of Maria or else, "Don't worry, I left her a note this time. I'm sure she won't come back here." Maria said snuggling closer to Alberto "That's a relief." He said and kissed Maria's head "Goodnight, Maria." He said "Goodnight, Alberto." Maria said and they both dozed off into a deep sleep with Alberto's right arm wrapped around Maria and Maria's head laying on Alberto's chest while hugging him.

I’m anxious about the election and our crumbling democracy et cetera et cetera so I’m gonna distract myself by making some Oscar predictions, lol.
I don’t think I’ve officially made any yet, but with the nominations a good five months away, might as well start making some guesses!
All predictions in alphabetical order, not likelihood of happening.
BEST PICTURE
The Father
Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom
Mank
Minari
News of the World
Nomadland
One Night in Miami
Soul
The Trial of the Chicago 7
Keeping an eye on: Da 5 Bloods; Judas and the Black Messiah; The Midnight Sky; The United States vs. Billie Holiday
Weird year!
It’s easy to imagine that the top four will shake out to be Mank (which will lead the nomination count, is a likely Director winner, and could easily take the whole thing), Nomadland, News of the World, and The Father. Beyond that, I have no idea!
Miami and Ma Rainey feel fairly safe.
I’m trying to manifest a Room-esque haul for Minari.
I don’t see Trial having the passion to carry it all the way to March as a top contender, but it’s basic enough to make it into Best Picture with support from actors and writers.
It’ll be neat to see if Soul can be the first animated nominee here since Toy Story 3.
BEST DIRECTOR
Lee Isaac Chung (Minari)
David Fincher (Mank)
Paul Greengrass (News of the World)
Florian Zeller (The Father)
Chloé Zhao (Nomadland)
Keeping an eye on: Aaron Sorkin (The Trial of the Chicago 7); Regina King (One Night in Miami); George C. Wolfe (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom); Lee Daniels (The United States vs. Billie Holiday); Spike Lee (Da 5 Bloods)
Predicting winners this far out is a fool’s errand, but this will likely be an easy win for Fincher.
Again, I’m holding out hope for Chung and Minari, and it’s worth noting that the directors branch tends to appreciate movies anchored around a child performance -- Room and Beasts of the Southern Wild both surprised here, so it’s not totally unrealistic.
Unless something really wild happens, Zhao looks primed to become the sixth woman nominated for Best Director, and the first woman of color.
Regina King stands a chance at joining her, which would be really, really cool.
George C. Wolfe might get squeezed in if both Chadwick Boseman and Viola Davis end up as frontrunners for their respective awards.
BEST ACTOR
Chadwick Boseman (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom)
Tom Hanks (News of the World)
Anthony Hopkins (The Father)
Gary Oldman (Mank)
Steven Yeun (Minari)
Keeping an eye on: Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods); Kingsley Ben-Adir (One Night in Miami); Lakeith Stanfield (Judas and the Black Messiah)
The late, great Boseman will officially be going lead for Ma Rainey, which makes things interesting. He would have been a slam-dunk winner in Supporting Actor, but in leading, he is now competing with Hopkins, whose reviews are out-of-this-world. It’s going to be awfully tight, and honestly, I don’t know who I’d predict to win right now. Either way, it’s all-but-guaranteed that Boseman will join the likes of Jeanne Eagels, James Dean, Spencer Tracy, Ralph Richardson, and Massimo Troisi as a posthumous acting nominee. If he wins, he’ll be the third, after Peter Finch and Heath Ledger.
Depending on how well Netflix handles all of their contenders, I’m worried for Yeun and Lindo here. I’d love for both to get in, but I just can’t see Hanks or Oldman missing out, especially if both of their films end up being major Best Picture contenders. Since I’m predicting Minari to do better than Bloods across the board, I’ll predict Yeun to make history as the first East Asian Best Actor nominee over Lindo.
Judas and the Black Messiah is basically the biggest question mark in the race right now. Its release and eligibility is up in the air and as are its category placement for its two leads (Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith Stanfield). If the film comes out and delivers, I could see it sliding into Best Picture as well as nabbing a nomination for one or both of them. Actor is tighter than Supporting, though, so it might make sense for the studio to push previous nominee Kaluuya (who has the flashier role) into supporting.
BEST ACTRESS
Viola Davis (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom)
Andra Day (The United States vs. Billie Holiday)
Frances McDormand (Nomadland)
Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman)
Kate Winslet (Ammonite)
Keeping an eye on: Amy Adams (Hillbilly Elegy); Jennifer Hudson (Respect); Vanessa Kirby (Pieces of a Woman); Sophia Loren (The Life Ahead); Meryl Streep (The Prom)
Honestly, this category is deep this year. So much so that the five I left off (Adams, Hudson, Kirby, Loren, Streep) could make sense as a lineup in any other year, and I expect most of them will pop up at the different precursors (Streep won’t come near the Oscar -- probably -- but she is guaranteed a spot at the Golden Globes).
I can easily see a world in which Davis is the one to beat: her role is juicy as hell and a Best Actress Oscar feels inevitable for her. However, if Boseman ends up winning Best Actor -- which is very possible! -- the situation becomes a bit tougher. It’s really hard for movies to win both Actor and Actress unless they’re, like, top five Best Picture material, and I don’t know if Ma Rainey will end up that high.
Keeping a sharp eye on Andra Day! Early buzz is great, it’s a juicy role that’s already been nominated for Best Actress (Diana Ross in 1972), and this could end up being a real star-is-born type moment. She’s the only other person who makes sense to me as a possible winner.
Mulligan is my wildcard prediction, lol. She’ll probably miss out to someone like Adams (unless Hillbilly gets completely destroyed) or maybe even Loren (whose narrative writes itself).
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
Sacha Baron Cohen (The Trial of the Chicago 7)
Charles Dance (Mank)
Daniel Kaluuya (Judas and the Black Messiah)
Leslie Odom, Jr. (One Night in Miami)
Eddie Redmayne (The Trial of the Chicago 7)
Keeping an eye on: Yahya Abdul-Matteen II (The Trial of the Chicago 7); Chadwick Boseman (Da 5 Bloods); Trevante Rhodes (The United States vs. Billie Holiday) Mark Rylance (The Trial of the Chicago 7); Jeremy Strong (The Trial of the Chicago 7); Glynn Turman (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom)
It’s funny, for a little bit, it looked like some of the possible Best Actor contenders would be pushed supporting (Boseman and Yeun, specifically). Now... well, it’s looking weird.
Trial, which might not even end up a top 5 Best Picture contender, could easily snag two, maybe three, nominations in this category since Netflix announced they’re pushing every actor in supporting. Baron Cohen feels like the surest thing of that cast -- he has one of the flashiest roles and Borat 2 is only helping him stay in the conversation -- and I wouldn’t be surprised if Redmayne happened. He’s basically the lead of the movie. I’m curious if Abdul-Matteen or Rylance or Strong will be able to get in over them. The rest of the cast is (I think) DOA.
If I had to pick a winner today, I’d probably say Sacha Baron Cohen or Leslie Odom, Jr., whose performance as Sam Cooke seems to be getting a lot of attention (along with Kingsley Ben-Adir’s Malcolm X, who might be getting a leading push). That both have other huge projects this year that won’t get them Oscar nominations (Borat 2 and Disney+’s release of Hamilton respectively) only helps their narrative.
I have no idea about Charles Dance, lol. I’m only really picking him because he’s an old veteran character actor (which this category thrives on) and he likely has a major antagonistic role in the Best Picture frontrunner playing a real person (check, check, check!).
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
Glenn Close (Hillbilly Elegy)
Olivia Colman (The Father)
Amanda Seyfriend (Mank)
Youn Yuh-Jung (Minari)
Helena Zengel (News of the World)
Keeping an eye on: Saoirse Ronan (Ammonite); Olivia Williams (The Father)
Can Close finally win an Oscar? Or will Colman snatch it from her yet again!? Will Seyfried get swept up in a Best Picture sweep?! Or will Zengel be the one place the Academy can reward News of the World in an above-the-line category?! So much excitement.
Predicting Youn over Ronan mostly in my expectation that Minari will be a bigger deal with the Academy than Ammonite, but conventional (racist) Oscar wisdom tells us that a four-time nominee like Ronan is more likely than a Korean older woman who is mostly unknown American audiences. We’ll have to see!

Lets talk about 365DNI
So, I will preface by saying this a rant and a semi review, mostly a rant.
Also if you haven't watched it !SPOILERS!
Also, if you’re under the age of 18, or are uncomfortable with taking about sexual things, this is your opportunity to bump off, and don’t watch the movie.
Also an extra warning because i'll be talking about lack of consent in this movie and yeah!
This is my warning.
So, Let’s Talk about the main characters. We have Laura Biel, who is the movies protagonist. She is a victim of kidnapping and the “source” of Massimo Torricelli’s, the love interest and movies antagonist, affection. Laura, at the beginning of the movie, is made to seem like she has a loveless relationship and a job she absolutely hates, and in my opinion, sets up the frame that getting kidnapped by handsome mob man is a blessing, which some might argue in her case it was.Laura is immediately put in a terrible situation, she is uprooted from her friends, and taken to a place where 1)she knows absolutely no one and has to fend for herself and 2) she’s manipulated, from before she even gets kidnapped to time she “surrenders”. She’s fed this idea that she could leave the life she has behind to be on trial basis with a man who she doesn’t know, so that he can live out his fantasy of being in a relationship with her, which she does not fall for.
The movie spends so much time trying to put Laura in a box and make her conform to these rules and lifestyle that she didn’t agree to. Often times, when she is trying to liberate herself from these rules, and shit hits the fan, she is blamed for “acting out.” Thats victim blaming, and Its not her fault, she’s been kidnapped and thrown into situations that she didn’t ask for. And while yes, it's made clear in the movie that there are worse people who could have kidnapped her, it's still not an ideal situation for her.
Despite all of the turmoil she’s put through, ill say that Laura is not a weak character, She’s not silent, she stands up to Massimo to the best of her ability, but he controls all the pieces on the board, and she has no control over anything in her life other than ability to say no to him and that doesn’t even necessarily work sometimes.
An example of Massimo's extreme power control: At one point in the movie she attempts to run away from Massimo but she cant even get out of the city that they’re in because Massimo and his family have the city on their payroll, and everyone is so scared of him,  running away for her becomes futile, because it will never work. She has to become complacent to survive.
Massimo Torricelli is our main antagonist and a major asshole, and not an asshole with a soft heart for Laura, he’s just a pure asshole. Its a common theme throughout the movie. The movie makes attempts to soften Massimo’s personality by trying to make him this guy with good morals, but despite having good morals and a traumatic backstory, you cant avoid the facts the he 1) drugged and kidnapped her and 2) he treated her poorly, up until she finally gave into him.
Now if you’ve seen the movie you may or may not agree with my any statements that I have said and thats fine, but we cant avoid the fact that Massimo is a smart person, he understands how to play the long game in this situation. By allowing her to have access to the things that she asked for (only after she begged for them) he is manipulating and finding ways to gain her trust. He’s not dumb he knows what he’s doing. Its like I said earlier, he controls all the pieces on the board, he knows what to do in order to win the game and he, in my opinion, would hold out for as long as it took to make her fall in “love” with him.
Lets talk about the plot. Laura is kidnapped on her birthday while she’s on vacation with her boyfriend and friends, by Mafia Boss Massimo, who has had an obsession with her for over five years and has on a whim, after one coincidental citing, devised a plan to make her and make her fall in love with him. The plan is is that he is giving her 365 days to fall for him and if she hasn’t fell for him by her next birthday, then he will let her go. Thats the plot.
Now you might ask, why am i I reiterating this again and again and again? Why are we talking about this? Why is this important?Well, the definition of Stockholm Syndrome as defined by Merriam Webster is: the psychological tendency of a hostage to bond with, identify with, or sympathize with his or her captor.
I have a very hard time believing as an audience member that Laura,  without this certain set circumstances, would fall in love with Massimo, mostly because, he’s an asshole. Not because of his profession. Massimo in addition to being an asshole also disregards and disrespects Laura’s boundaries and often engages in sexual acts with her without her consent.
I as an audience member also have a hard time in believing that Massimo actually loves Laura. Throughout the movie its clear and stated the Massimo is a man who gets what he wants, he doesn’t chase after anything or anyone, Laura being the five year infatuation has peaked his interest, and the idea of finding her and being with her has floated around in his head for too long. I as an audience member, question would he still have interest in her if she caved in and gave into him from the very start. This would turn out to be a completely different movie.
This whole movie, is forwarded by the chase of her resisting him and he having to “compromise” his sense of self and security to be with her. (FYI:it's not a true compromise if one person still controls most of the pieces on the board by the end of the movie.) Yes, Laura turned his life upside down in some ways, but he also knew the potential risk he took when decided to go forward with his plan.
In my opinion, I think Massimo might care for her, but it's in a way that a child cares for a toy, or someone might care for a gun, a very much, you cant touch that, thats my property attitude. One of the biggest examples of this is Massimo’s  “Babygirl.” This was a pet-name picked for Laura by Massimo before he even got to know her as a person. Every instance we see him interacting with her “Are you lost Babygirl?” is an example of him claiming some kind of ownership over her, prelude to what he can and eventually does, take her to be his own.
In the movie, Massimo, in my opinion, makes little to no attempts to get to know her as a person, they have no genuine interaction other than one scene that isn’t overtly sexual. Everything else in the movie relies on unhealthy sexual chemistry created to tell you that Massimo's plan is “working.”
Up until the time she give into him there are so many nonconsensual acts of sex, as an audience member, it was concerning. Often these acts would come after he said he was not going to push her boundaries. (FYI: cuffing someone to a bed and making them watch another woman give you a blowjob, without consent  is crossing a boundary) and that’s all I’m gonna say about that.
So, let's briefly talk about Laura’s situation. She is trapped, and she has no one to trust. Massimo's men are loyal to him and not her. She cant tell them anything for fear of one of them telling Massimo, everything that she thinks, and feels she has to keep hidden, because its not safe for her, therefore she has to make nice with her captor or else, prompting some of the compromises on Lauras part in the movie. This is why I say their relationship is not a true compromise, Laura ends up compromising so much of herself by the end of the movie and Massimo in my opinion continues to live the same life that he’s used to living. point blank.
Lets talk about the turning point in the movie. AKA, when Laura first accepts Massimo. The acceptance happens when Massimo saves her from drowning after she goes overboard on his boat when they were arguing. Now how did we get to this point? For me, its understanding how the odds were stacked up immeasurably against her throughout the movie.
Here’s a few that stuck out to me:
1) Laura still had a considerable amount of time to be left in Massimo’s presence, I believe in the movie she had only been with him for two months.
 2) Massimo killed a member of another mafia family, making everyones lives more complicated, and she finally comes to the realization that despite her rebellion, Massimo isn’t letting go of her anytime soon.
3) Massimo's right hand man/ Uncle was telling Massimo to cut his losses with Laura, so where does that leave her? Now that she’s been involved with all of this (against her will), will she still be a target?
4) Laura becomes a target to hurt Massimo, literally just by being with him as later shown by Massimo's jealous ex Anna, Laura will need his protection, whether she wants or not.
5) Laura was blamed, by Massimo and others,  for the repercussions of what had happened the night before, which is why they were arguing, she cant defend herself when everyone is pointing the finger at her.
6) Massimo made himself the “Savior” by both risking and saving her life twice in less than 24 hours.
You might ask how did he risk her life the first time? Well, he took her to a club with questionable people and asked her to behave by rules that she did not agree to and when she was in trouble, because she has absolutely no idea who she’s dealing with,  he comes in and saves her from said questionable people that she did not want to be around in the first place.
When Massimo saves her the second time, the movie, in my opinion, makes it out for Laura to be grateful that she is alive. Massimo could have just let her drown but he didn't, he was a good human being in that instant, and I guess that plus everything else she’s been through makes accepting him easier, because he saved her life, he must really love her right?right?  This my attempt at rationalizing and digesting what had happened leading up to her affections for him. To me,  she goes from absolutely hating him to showing him affection overnight, and there was no romantic build up of tension that would have prompted her to have sex with him. From my perspective, the tension went away when she went overboard on the boat.
Finally, when she consents to him they have lots of sex. Like lots and thats a prelude to her getting pregnant. (you know how I knew instantly that she was getting pregnant, because not a single thought of a rubber or birth control was given throughout the entire script.) be safe. use protection people!
Anyways, towards the end of the movie, Massimo sends her off to Poland, to be safe, while he does some really sketchy mafia things to whom we can assume is either his ex, who threatened to Kill Laura or the mafia family he has drama with now. She’s supposed to wait in Poland for him to finish whatever sketchy thing he’s doing, and yes, we know its sketchy because before her flight, Laura’s henchman that has been with her for the whole movie has to leave and strictly instructs her to wait in Poland, and thats what she does. Massimo sets her up with an apartment and expenses and she’s supposed to wait for him to i guess meet up with her. While in Poland, Laura visits her friend, Olga, who we can only assume she has had no contact with over the past couple of weeks.
What makes this movie so unrealistic, in my opinion,  is the lack of realistic reactions to situations which should be taken more seriously. Lauras friend is pissed for all of five seconds, and she’s confused when Laura tells her what really happened to her, and her solution to all of it was lets go out and and get make overs and go clubbing and get your mind off of everything, which yes, is helpful to some, but also….. If I showed up randomly on my friends doorstep with the same tea Laura had to spill, my friends would do alot more than go out for makeovers and go clubbing, they’d probably call the cops, or my parents, or both, regardless of Massimo’s influence.
So, they end up going out and she runs into her ex at the club, which is already questionable as to how he even knew she was there? Like did the best friend call him? Anyways he’s determined to plead his case to her and literally follows her all night long even all the way to her apartment where Massimo is waiting for her to get home. Once her ex sees Massimo, he stands down, and skip to the next important part because it’s all just sex.
So Laura tells Massimo that she loves him and the next morning he asks her to marry him. Which prompts me to ask what would he have done if she said no?? Like honestly, would he have just let her say no or would he force her to say yes?
So……there’s a fashion montage to show that they’re like happy and in love and then they’re at a wedding with her family, who I think is her cousin and Massimo meets her family and he parents are just chill with the fact that after being gone for months that she all of a sudden has a new man in her life.....I’m just going to assume that she’s been in constant contact with her parents because some of that doesn’t make sense to me. I know that she called her mother when Massimo gave her her phone back, but thats the only time in the movie that I can remember her contacting her family.
So finally, let’s talk about the ending, and im not going to spoil it because, i don’t want to. So, the ending was the ending and that’s all I’m going to say about that. Im not going to spoil the ending because if you end up watching the film or take any context clues from what I've written, you will know that they don’t end up getting married! (oops… never said why they didn’t). I will say, the ending felt very rushed. It was all happening very fast. I believe from time that he proposed to her till the ending of the movie, they packed in weeks worth of story telling in fifteen to twenty minutes, and there were plenty of gaps, that I feel like, if they were filled, they would have made the ending of the movie make more sense.
So, on a lighter not, I want to talk about a very brief similarity in another movie that could technically be considered of the same plot. That movie is Beauty and the Beast. When I was watching this movie, Beauty and the Beast, was always in the back of my head, when i finished watching 365DNI, I compared the two movies.  The stories are similar in the generalized sense,  both men are beast who rely on women to humanize them, but are doing it under personalized circumstances in a certain amount of time. Just like the Beast, Massimo had a deadline he had to meet, Also Belle was a prisoner, her entire experience at the castle and in the Beast company was to make her fall in love with him.
In conclusion, Id give this movie a solid 5/10, because even though I don’t agree with the basis of the story, its fiction, and in my opinion, its okay to enjoy fantasized fiction, just as long as you’re not taking your fantasy out into the real world. I know its just a movie and I probably shouldn’t have gone this hard on it, but I just had thoughts. (These are my own thoughts and opinions on the movie, I'm not a professional critic, by any means,  I just wanted to talk about it. If you have opinions on the movie, or if you’ve got any advice on how to write a personal review, let's talk! cause I definitely want to do more of these!)

He goes to confession on occasion when something heavy is weighing on his mind and he goes to church on certain holidays but his faith is more of a private thing for him. Mostly because he knows he’s not a good Catholic. Parents’ names: Father - Fausta Di Marco , Mother - Briella Di Marco Current relationship status: Dating Mia Adley Previous relationships: When he was a teenager he got close to someone during school but it fizzled out after Antonio died and he pushed her away. He refuses to count it as a relationship even if most would consider it to be.
Under the cut there are mentions of drowning, boating accident, death, murder.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION Height: 5′10 Hair colour: Black Eye colour: Brown Glasses/contacts: None Tattoos: Pin up of a blonde soldier on his right shoulder. Piercings: None Typical clothing style: Most of the time when people see him he’s wearing the palace uniform but on his days off he’s usually seen in casual attire such as chinos and a nice sweater/t-shirt depending on the weather. Every now and then he’ll throw his leather jacket over a hoodie/t-shirt and wear whatever jeans are clean whenever he’s heading to the village as an escape. Distinguishing features (scars, birthmarks, freckles, etc): Funnily enough he has a lightning shaped scar in the middle of his forehead that was more pronounced when he was younger. It resulted in a lot of people comparing him to Harry Potter which might be a big reason as to why he became a Potter nerd. (Alberto actually has this and I think it’s hilarious). Dominant hand: Right
HEALTH Health issues or illnesses, if any: He’s been pretty healthy throughout his life. Allergies, if any: He’s allergic to cats but he doesn’t care. He’ll hold one all day even when his throat is getting scratchy and he’s getting a rash. Exercise habits: He’s in the gym every day and he runs at least four times a week at a minimum. The gym is one of his favorite places to be. It’s basically his sanctuary. It’a good thing as he gets to make up for his eating habits. Dietary habits: He eats anything and everything. Gio likes to pretend he’s a healthy guy and he is for the most part but his weakness is food. The boy loves to eat and loves to eat any kind of food you’ll put in front of him. He hasn’t met a food he doesn’t like and he’s pretty sure he never will.
PERSONALITY Accent: His accent has gotten much better since coming to work with the royals and having to speak English more than his native language. It’s still there just not very heavy to where you can’t understand him. It’s pretty clear what country he’s from when he speaks, though. Speech style: Boy doesn’t know what formal speaking is. He’s also a fast talker especially when he’s excited about something. That would mostly be the reason he’s not understood sometimes but he doesn’t much care. And he’s a rambler, talking about anything and everything that doesn’t matter. Most used word or phrase: “I’m kidding” or “Don’t look at me like that, it was a joke.” Do they curse?: Yes. He tries not to be crude in front of the Royals but most of the time it either slips out or he just doesn’t care anymore. Any secrets? He witnessed the murder of the Welsh crown at the hands of another royal and his family is being threatened so he’ll stay quiet. He also doesn’t tell anyone about his best friend because talking about it makes it real. Top priority/ies: To keep the Royals safe, especially Mia. To be able to actually open up to the English crown and move on from Antonio’s death while also trying to get the German prince off his back. Most treasured possession: There was a bracelet that Antonio used to wear all the time that he keeps hidden away in his things. Coming from a military family, it seemed like Gio had spent his whole life training to serve his country. His grandfather, father, two brothers, and sister all went into the military as soon as they hit eighteen and Gio wasn’t about to break the tradition. He first started in the Esercito Italiano (The Army Branch) and made it to the Tenente (Lieutenant) rank before he became a European liaison. He spent quite a few years traveling around Europe and meeting different army leaders along with the Royals they serve. When faced with the choice to re-enlist or move on Gio made the unbelievable choice to move to a new career, the Italian knowing he would be heavily scrutinized. His family was not happy about this change, as he suspected, and he was quickly cast as the black sheep in their eyes, all but his sister refusing to talk to him for abandoning the family tradition or for the disrespect towards his father's wishes. He went straight to Russia to take on a job as a royal guard in Khatanga after the decision was made.
The only person from his family that didn't seem to cast him aside was his older sister. The oldest of four, Sienna has always been someone Gio felt he could look up to. She’s been his protector more times than he can count, the girl keeping their two brothers off his back as they were growing up, and he credits her in helping make his childhood extravagant. Like the rest of his family, Sienna went into the military as soon as she hit eighteen and is still serving under the Italian Airforce as a captain who wants to work her way up the ranks as much as she can. Sienna is the only one in his family who reached out to Gio after he didn’t re-enlist in the army and she’s the only one who doesn’t seem to be angry about the decision even if she doesn’t quite understand his reasons. He’s just grateful that he still has someone he can count on in his family, someone who can keep him connected to his roots, even though he can’t reach her very often while he’s in Thailand and she’s working in different parts of Italy and around the world. (Right now Sienna is a NPC but if anyone were interested in playing her we could discuss it).
Most people think the reason for his departure from the Italian army is because he "wanted a change." It's what he tells everyone who asks. But underneath that excuse, the real reason is he did it to purposefully distance himself from the people he loves. While accompanying the Welsh crown and his sister's betrothed around Italy, the Prince had been killed in his presence. He watched the betrothed commit murder, feeling helpless as he'd been too far away to stop him before he realized what was happening. The Italian was instantly threatened to keep his mouth shut, the man who'd committed the atrocities bringing Gio's family into the mix, which is why he decided to push them away as much as he possibly could. He's not sure how far the prince will go to protect his secret or what kind of information he has on Gio so he doesn't want to risk keeping them in his life if it will put them in danger.
Gio is a big stickler for the major rules put in place, especially when it comes to safety and alliances, but when it comes to the smaller rules, mostly pertaining to etiquette, he just doesn’t see the point. He’s always felt that Royals were just like regular people so why treat them any differently than someone he would pass on the street? He’s respectful to a degree, especially if he’s been warned by a royal that he should act a certain way, but most of the time he’ll treat them just like he would his own friends back home.
When he was seventeen, he lost someone he considered to be another brother. Gio and Antonio had known each other since the day they were born. Their families had been close even before Gio entered the picture and growing up it was clear that he and Antonio were meant to be in each other’s lives. They were the type of friends who could get through anything whether it be small squabbles or some of the biggest issues a pair of teens could face together and they were always sure to be there if the other needed it. They were more like brothers than friends. When they were seventeen Gio lost Antonio in a boating accident when the two went out on the water together with some other friends. Gio was driving and wasn’t aware that Antonio and another of their friends was standing at the back of the boat goofing around when he started to gain more speed. Antonio slipped, hit his head, and fell into the water before Gio knew anything was happening.
After losing his best friend the Italian never really let his heart go to anyone else. He’s kept it locked away not wanting to feel the pain of losing someone he loves ever again. He has nightmares of the day Antonio went overboard and basically blames himself for the accident. He won’t talk about Antonio to anyone and if somebody starts getting close to this part of himself Gio will completely shut down and start pushing them away. Talking about it would make it real which means accepting responsibility for killing his best friend and he's stubborn enough to push that inevitability away as long as he can.
Another result of this unfortunate accident is Gio's unwillingness to be near major bodies of water. Ultimately, Antonio died from drowning when he passed out while going overboard and now Gio has a major phobia of drowning himself. A lot of his dreams have to do with that part of his friend's death, often him drowning along with Antonio, and it's really taken a toll on his waking life. He won't go near lakes, oceans, or even swimming pools unless he absolutely must for the job.
He has met Royals in the past, Italy being a hot spot for travel and him traveling to other countries with the army just so happens to aid in the meeting of the monarchy’s children. A past fling happened with one in particular but it never resulted in much of a relationship what with his views on those. And he's been known to lead girls on to serve his needs for affection until he feels they're getting too close to him. He's not a bad guy in theory, he wants intimacy just like everyone else, but he's just not sure how to get that intimacy he craves without feelings getting involved.
Which is why he was so floored when he started to realize his feelings for a certain princess he was in charge of protecting. Being a personal guard is the fastest way for someone to get close to a person without meaning to and as Gio went through the months overseeing Princess Emilia’s needs he slowly started to fall for the girl. These feelings scare him but with everything that happened in the tiny Russian town he’s also realizing life is too short to continue pushing people away. Or maybe Emilia was just the one to make him realize that loving someone and losing them was better than not being able to love them at all. But him realizing this did not change the fact that anyone he gets close to could be a potential target for the man who’s been threatening him over the Welsh prince’s death and he’s careful not to let on that he feels anything more than friendly towards Mia when in the company of most anyone.
He's always been a little curious when it comes to his sexuality but has never expressed that out loud until a certain prince within the castle in Khatanga pursued him without any shame whatsoever. It resulted in Gio giving in to that side of himself and he's now realized that he's bisexual. He's not told too many people, but he doesn't deny it either.
He focuses on his physical health because he knows deep down his mental health is so far gone it'll never be right again. Working out and making sure no harmful products go in his body are very important to him. The only thing he does that would be unhealthy would be the way he eats. The boy can eat anything and everything and he has no problem doing so. With all his workouts he never seems to gain a pound no matter what foods he goes for and he wouldn't have it any other way.
He speaks Italian and English fluently.
