Regarding ships, do you like canada x china?(it's very rarepair). China would find canada sweet, mature and refreshing individual compared to other nations.

well anon, i gotta be honest i haven't thought of it as a romantic ship at all? matt's got his strong points, but i don't really see him being more "mature" compared to other nations, especially since yao's been around plenty of other older nations (some of whom are still around). generally, my view of yao is that there's some jadedness he has from his long life: while he sometimes finds young nations refreshing and envies the lack of calluses they have (compared to him), other times he finds them frustratingly naive and inexperienced.

and at least in my headcanons, the way yao views matthew is to some degree influenced by arthur (and francis), especially since trade between britain and china began as early as the 17th century. and so this whole period from the 17th—early 20th century is one where a huge amount of canada's involvement in foreign policy is decided by arthur (after france formally ceded canada to britain in 1763). matthew, to yao, is seen very much through the prism of arthur as the british empire— and how matt is at times his father's swordhand. that's not to say matt doesn't have his own thoughts, differences and struggles with arthur, but how i think yao might see it. so mmm i personally don't think yao's impression of matthew is that he's "sweet"? because: 1) arthur manages a lot of foreign policy before dominions like matt get independence proper 2) a lot of what yao consequently sees is matt as a soldier by his father's side (even when they're ostensibly on the same side, such as during WWI). and needless to say, the earlier opium wars and century of humiliation shapes a lot of how yao views arthur (and everyone associated with him).

there are some differences with how i see yao and alfred, for example, mainly because alfred shows up at his door after the american revolutionary war as this ragtag young nation with tiny ass ships (what an irony, given what'll happen later on...) begging for trade—but deals with yao one-on-one as an independent nation nonetheless. from yao's pov, alfred is the rebellious crown prince who isn't content to walk in his father's shadow—while for the longest period, yao sees matt through the prism of "the second and filial son of the british empire". that's not to say there aren't different angles to explore re: chinese-canadian history or the diaspora, but that's ^ my personal take on it since i'm interested in mapping those imperial power dynamics onto relationships between nations.

I take it as random headcanons I got in August? If that's not what you meant anon, feel free to clarify. As much as I would love to do something for Honkai Star Rail for a change. I literally have no specific headcanons to discuss. Honkai and it's characters just live rent free in my brain. So Hetalia it is.

Ludwig tried to foster dogs, but he stopped after the second one because they were too hard to let go of. Honestly, I've been wanting to give him a dachshund because I've heard some cute headcanons floating around, so maybe the dachshund was a pup he was fostering but he got attached so he adopted it despite already having 3 dogs. And that was the last foster he did because Gil sat him down and was like "Stop, you don't need more dogs."

Alfred is a very good ventriloquist

Matthew misses living off the land. Having his own vegetable garden, hunting and fishing for his own meet, etc. His nation duties often leave him little time to properly do it. Though when he has free time, he'll hunt and keep some of the meat frozen for the coming days/weeks. And he still keeps up with his vegetable garden at least

Francis has a fear of airplanes

Matthew visits Arthur regularly and they have tea together. Matthew just worries about Arthur feeling lonely. (this was inspired by this post I saw saying that HK and Seychelles prank call Arthur, but he doesn't realize it's a prank and basically chats with them about the most boring topics and if that's not lonely old man behaviour I don't know what is. So Matt starts visiting regularly because of it)

Arthur was the one to help Ludwig embrace his love for teddy bears. Lud always felt ashamed until he found out Arthur loves stuffed animals and since he loves and admirers Arthur he starts to realize that he shouldn't be ashamed

I love your headcanons so much and I wanted to ask what you think the relationship between Canada and France is like? Being primarily England's son, it would be interesting to know whether or not Canada still considers France a parental figure of any kind.

I don't think I entirely agree with 'primarily England's son.' It is true that Matthew has spent more time with Arthur overall as part of his family and the English part of Canada has strong cultural connections to the UK which binds them closer together; Matthew is as much Arthur's son as much as Alfred is. But the core of Matthew, his oldest parts and patterns and memories, are very much French and this is a tricky thing for him to work with, sometimes.

One interpretation of the motto of Quebec is:

’Je me souviens/ Que né sous le lys/ Je croîs sous la rose’ -

‘I remember/ That born under the lily/ I grow under the rose’.

I'm not going to go into historical accuracy for this coming view of mine, it is more personal than anything else. Please do read my headcanons on Matthew and Arthur's relationship first for a better understanding of how Matthew ticks and how Arthur parented him after Francis as this will make a lot more sense. Because Francis was different. Not different as in cruel, or different in that he does not, did not, love Matthew but different in that Francis views children, nation children especially, very differently from how Arthur does.

Francis is showier, more at ease with himself than Arthur ever was. Francis does not see the best aspects of himself in children, does not search for understanding or empathises with being small and misunderstood and weak. He does not like remembering himself this way, often refuses to explore these parts of himself and rejects it when he sees it in others. Arthur hates it too, of course, and neither had a sweet and easy childhood, especially compared to the silver spoon fed nations they raised, but where Arthur takes this hatred of himself from those years and channels it into pushing himself to improve, Francis pushes these aspects away. He does not have the patience for children, does not want to watch them fumble and fall or get to know them intimately as the half-baked clay that they are. They are children, they will grow- he will have more in common with them then.

This isn’t callous or even really a conscious decision. He just doesn’t relate to children in the same way that Arthur can, cannot get past their youth, their ‘unreadyness’. He can play with children and can talk happily to children but he has no time for children, especially when Matthew was in his care. He would make sure he was fed and cleaned and put to bed on time and was given the best things money could buy, but he also didn’t care about these details overly much. The Duke of Blah Blah said that this specific toy is the best thing to buy children of Matthew’s age? He’ll get it. Oh, Lady So-and-So’s son is having riding lessons? He’ll set them up for Matthew too. What fashions are best? Does he have the nicest apartments? The best servants to hand? Best tutors?

And this is all well and good but he didn’t take the time to find out what Matthew actually wanted or felt. He didn’t care for Matthew as his own person, didn’t take the time to get to know him and this is what Matthew, and all children, desperately want from their parents. Simply to be heard and understood and loved as they really are.

France sees things more critically and logically- the potential a child can have. How having Matthew about made him look, how he was treated differently. The social circles that opened or closed, the way people talk to him and the conversations they pick. Francis sees it all and he cares about it in a way that Arthur doesn’t and he enjoys following and leading the steps that courts dance. Matthew was a very nice ornamental piece for Francis and from an early age Matthew quickly picked up on his energy and intentions.

Smile at parades of strangers. Hold Papa’s hand and bow for the King. Try his best and practise again and again until he knew all of the steps to the new dances that year. To do these things was to spend time with Francis and to make him happy and Matthew was starved for that time and affection- a ghost of a close relationship that came about whenever Matthew accepted Francis’ current interests and social rules.

This of course, meant that when Francis gave Matthew away it really did devastate him. He had tried so hard. He worked every part of himself to do and be his best to make Francis happy but that wasn’t enough. From Francis’ view again this act wasn’t really cruel at all- war is war. A deal is a deal. Arthur may be a fool and he’s not always in Francis’ good books but he’s got a son of a similar age and he’s good with children; Matthew would have a play mate and Arthur’s boy wasn’t dead yet so Arthur couldn’t be that bad of a parent. It made sense. Matthew would be fine.

But again, he didn’t consider Matthew’s feelings as a person, how this would affect him or how much it would hurt. Certainly not the repercussions- on his personality, on how he builds relationships, how he sees himself.

Today Francis and Matthew are on good, if distant terms. Matthew is polite and Matthew is loyal to Arthur and Arthur wouldn’t have approved or a meltdown or rage at seeing Francis again for the first time in years. Nor would Arthur have approved if Matthew had cowered away and avoided him, or causing a fuss of any kind. Matthew loves Arthur, is grateful to him for treating him as a son rather than a spare so… Matthew shakes Francis’ hand and asks about his trip. Takes his coat and hangs it up, smells the familiar smell that knocks him back decades to powdered wigs and jewelled cuffs on a coat that glint in the light of a thousand candles. Hears the language that Arthur refuses to speak with him slip once again between his ears, notices the changes as much as what has remained the same. Hears himself in Francis’ laugh and hopes that he at least sounds more genuine.

Francis knows now that they will never have as close of a relationship as Arthur and Matthew share but he’s grateful for what Matthew has let him have. Maybe it’s because Matthew is an adult now. Maybe it’s because Matthew is his own person, or maybe it’s because Francis himself has grown and matured. It’s likely a combination of all three, but Francis wants to get to know Matthew these days, after WWI especially, and often initiates contact and arranges visits for them both. Matthew is happy for the attention and enjoys getting to know and spend time with Francis but Francis is very much the one taking the lead. Again, similarly to Francis in his youth this isn't to be cruel but just because Matthew doesn't think of Francis in this way. He does not consider going to him for advice or for a good time or even for affection- he has other people for that now.

Although now polite and positive, the bond between them is very surface level, lacking the easy warmth that he shares with Arthur and both he and Francis are aware of why.

Despite this, there is still something there within his chest that rings Matthew back to his earliest days. He’s taller than Francis now, the proportions strange on him like a stolen shadow but in the right light, in the right angle, earlier times will catch him and Matthew feels as much as part of Francis as he ever did.

Arthur isn’t the most touchy person so having a friend that is can be tough sometimes

Francis is very touchy as a friend unless he knows someone dislikes it

He likes to jokingly bicker and fight with you

Kiku is overall one of the ones who needs a touchy bestie but is the most challenging with receiving or giving the touchiness back

He’s a man who enjoys personal space and alone time, so he’s honestly surprised anyone considers him a true best friend

He knows he can get a bit feisty and shut himself away when he gets uncomfortable and that makes it hard to truly befriend him

But he’s really happy you stick around and deal with his awkwardness and rejection of your affection

Tries his hardest to at least accept your friendly affection

No one would dare ask if you two are flirting or together because my god it’s taking so much of his effort to just sit less than 2 feet away from you at the start so they don’t want to ruin his progress by making it awkward

Kiku definitely asks for your opinion on anime and manga

Gets into heated debates with you over certain ones

Is shy but asks you to come over a lot

Likes to have tea and snacks with you while you guys talk

Y’all can talk for literally a whole day

You sleepover a lot, he insists and even got you your own futon with a cool custom cover

Gifts you a kotatsu at some point because he loves them and he thinks you should enjoy them all the time too

When he gets over a lot of shyness he loves when you do simple forms of affection with him

Like ruffling his hair or holding onto his arm or even just leaning against him

He enjoys those the most since they aren’t too physical and mentally taxing on him and it still let you physically express your friendship with him like you love to do

If you ask for advice either get prepared for a harsh wake up call or a stumbling mess of words

It’s 50/50 if Kiku gives you the stone cold truth or tries to spare your feelings

As your friend he thinks you deserve the truth but he doesn’t want his harsh advice to ruin your mood or make you hate him

(Here’s the original headcanon I posted on this)

If the dog decides to take up Francis’s side of the bed, then Francis has to either squeeze in between Arthur and the dog or sleep on the couch. Arthur doesn’t have the heart to make the dog move.

“Look how comfortable she is, Francis! And it’s going to be a cold night -- she needs to be kept warm!”

“She has her own bed, Arthur!”

“But she likes to rest her head on my knee!”

He also overfeeds the dog. Every time he tells himself he’s not going to give them any more treats, he takes one look at those big puppy dog eyes and caves. He’s the reason the vet announces that the dog is pre-diabetic. He can’t help but spoil them. Francis, Alfred, and Matthew have all tried to intervene by putting the dog on diet food and measuring out their portions, but Arthur will still sneak them treats when no one’s looking because “They deserve to live a little!”

He’ll have full-length conversations with the dog. “How are you today, my love? Did you sleep well? You must be starving. I’ll prepare breakfast. What would you like to select off of the menu today?”

Alfred and Matthew are genuinely disappointed that the dog typically spends more time with Arthur than with them. Fortunately, when Arthur’s at work, they finally get the dog to themselves and can bond and cuddle, but as soon as Arthur walks through the front door, the dog will be back to padding after him and following his every move.

But even though the boys are a bit irritated that Arthur is clearly the dog’s “person,” they also find it really cute and endearing (and a compelling reason to insist that they should get another dog).

Headcanon for Piri and Iggy

Now this is my first time to ever make a headcanon for a series I love, so please take it easy on me!

For those interested, please read on :D

Human Name: Mariano Lorenzo Villalobos Balagtas Nickname: Enzo Name Meanings:

Mariano - male equivalent to Maria; 'bitter'; name also means 'Star of the Sea'; named after Mariano Gomez, one of the three priests executed for mutiny (GOMBURZA)

Lorenzo - means laurel in Italian; a symbol of victory, fame, honour or accomplishment; named after Saint Lorenzo Ruiz, the first Filipino saint and martyr

Villalobos - means 'town of wolves' in Spanish; named after Ruy Lopez de Villalobos, the Spanish explorer who gave Enzo his first name Las Islas Filipinas

Balagtas - means 'to trail blaze' in Tagalog- named after Francisco Balagtas, a prominent Filipino poet during the Spanish occupation; author of Florante at Laura

Personality:

Pre-Colonial - independent, organized, skilled fighter, resourceful, creative, family-oriented, hardworking, hospitable, proud of his heritage, a born leader, a great singer and a believer in the supernatural

Spanish Colonial - he still maintains the same personality as he did in the pre-colonial period, with developing traits of stubbornness, slight laziness (Filipino time), and religiousness. After being kidnapped by Britain for two years (who was a pirate at that time), he became knowledgeable in English. He develops a love-hate relationship with Spain.

American Colonial - bringing all his traits from his pre-colonial and Spanish colonial times, now with a more carefree air. Thanks to Britain years prior, Piri was fluent in English, surprising America. Piri becomes more fluent in the language to the point he made his own English language known as Philippine English -- a combination of both British and American English with a Filipino twist and -- since he was a former colony of Spain -- some Spanish terms.

Japanese Colonial - all above traits, but he became more solemn, more irritable and more stubborn after being told off by Japan right when Piri was about to graduate/gain independence.

Modern Day - he still maintains all his above traits but masked behind a more carefree, sociable, teasing, trendsetting, cheerful personality that everyone has known him for.

Headcanon for Enzo towards Arthur

At first, Enzo found Arthur weird when he spotted the latter sketching among the trees nearby. To Enzo, it's rare to find a blonde person in his home country.

But the more Arthur visited the area, the more fonder and more curious Enzo became towards him.

It was through Arthur that Enzo got a chance to see what magic is like, and is always enamored by it since then.

Whenever Arthur visits, Enzo always readies food and drinks for them. But whenever he doesn't show up and Antonio is around, Enzo would give them to his foster brother. Though he loved Antonio, the boy was still sad that his newfound friend didn't come to visit.

Enzo loved watching magic either for Arthur to him stories, or to be lulled to sleep.

Enzo felt betrayed when he found out that Arthur was a pirate. But after being assured that he was anything but in danger, Enzo relaxed, and even decided to stay with him for two years.

Enzo had a hard time speaking in a British accent; but apparently got to speak the language and learned it quickly. Of all the times he spent with Arthur, Enzo loved it when the Brit would test his vocabulary and then treat him to something sweet.

During his time with Arthur, Enzo gets to express himself more about his feelings and thoughts towards Antonio -- both good and bad.

Because of the admiration he had towards the Brit, Enzo was saddened when Arthur returned the boy to the archipelago.

When he was placed under Alfred's care, Enzo would write letters to Arthur on how he gets annoyed with the American, and openly complains about him.

To Enzo, he feared that by learning the American English, it would replace what he learned so far from Arthur. To prevent that from happening, he decided to make his own English form known as the Philippine English -- a mix of American and British English with Spanish terms. It was heavily influenced by American English, but some British terms and grammar were retained in it.

Of all the Allies, Enzo is very close towards Alfred and Arthur -- with Alfred who had watched over him until the night of independence; and with Arthur, who he had a history that dated back to when Enzo was a boy.

Headcanon for Arthur Kirkland towards Enzo

He is very much like how he was portrayed in the series, but has a soft spot for children and cute creatures.

To Arthur, Enzo was a boy whose future was taken away by Antonio. And believes that, even though Antonio meant well to keep the boy safe, Enzo would have to leave his foster brother and live on his own.

Even though he had the means to take him in, Arthur decided to not do so. But it didn't change the fact that he genuinely cared for the boy. He would watch over the boy, even if it means from afar.

Since he and Antonio are rivals, Arthur was the one who encouraged Enzo to rebel against the Spaniard. This was done not only because of the rivalry, but because he truly believed that Enzo is more than capable to fend for himself.

Though implied, even Arthur was saddened that he had to return Enzo after being called back to England.

When he found that Antonio was going to let Enzo go, Arthur immediately pushed Alfred to take care of him.

Arthur disproves of the skit plan, after finding that out from Alfred in one of the latter's visits to England.

Even after Antonio left the teen, Arthur made absolutely sure that Enzo is protected at all costs, even if it meant having Alfred taking care of him.

Whenever Alfred had problems in taking care of Enzo, Arthur would advise him on how he could take care of the teen. Having known the boy for a long time, Arthur knew how the boy acted, felt and thought. He was genuinely dismayed when Alfred decided to do things his way, and wasn't surprised when things went from bad to worse for the American; but he warned Alfred that the American doesn't do anything funny towards Enzo OR ELSE.

When the teen was finally able to live on his own, Arthur treated Enzo out to dinner celebrating his first night of independence. On that same night, Arthur says, "Let's make it official," letting out a hand for Enzo to take. They shook hands as a sign that Arthur now sees Enzo as an equal, and no longer someone else's foster child or ward; but as a person of his own.

== My Headcanon between Modern Day Enzo and Arthur ==

Since Enzo is old enough to drink, he gets to go to drinking parties with Arthur. And if there are any karaoke machines in the venue, the two would either sing together or have a singing showdown, hoarding the microphones until either both of them passed out, or sing until closing time.

Whenever Arthur gets tired to sing, Enzo continues to sing songs until he plops onto his seat.

When both are drunk, it was Alfred who drags them both to a friend's residence depending on the country they're in. If it's in Enzo's home country or region, Indo would be the one to carry them both home.

During Halloween, it became routine for Enzo to help Arthur come up with ideas in the scaring contest with Alfred.

Whenever he's bored, or when they were not occupied, Enzo would call up Arthur and invite him to a ghost hunt or a paranormal investigation.

Once they went to every haunted place in both countries, they would save up money for travel to other haunted places in the world.

Whenever they have a sleepover in England, Enzo was saddened that his Diwata couldn't come along since England was far away -- with hopes that he could introduce his fairy to Arthur's. To make him feel better, Arthur would invite Ms. Fairy, Unicorn, Brownie, Flying Mint Bunny and Captain Hook. Seeing Enzo interact with his companions was heartwarming for Arthur.

When Arthur became terribly ill to the point of being hospitalised, Enzo would always be by his side. A trained nurse himself, Enzo saw through Arthur's stay until the Brit's full recovery.

When Enzo falls ill, he would usually not tell Arthur so as not to trouble him. But was surprised to learn that Arthur found out about his sickness anyway, and cared for him until he got better.

Arthur and Enzo would cook together whenever they hang out in either residence.

Enzo would usually ask Arthur to take a selfie with him, the latter not minding at all. And whenever Alfred photobombs the selfie, Arthur would chase after him, while Enzo keeps snapping photos of himself with the two running in the background.

Enzo was the fourth person to follow Arthur in Twitter (Alfred, Francis and Matthew being the first, second and third respectively) and third to follow the Brit in Instagram; whereas Arthur was the seventh to follow Enzo in Twitter (the first six being the SEA family) and in Instagram.

Arthur is well-aware that Enzo's family was protective of the latter, and keeps a safe distance.

Ever since Arthur ran away from his group in Europe, he decided to stay with the SEA family. Enzo was more than delighted to volunteer to let Arthur stay in his house.

In contrast to Alfred, Pien grew friendly towards Arthur because of how delicately the Brit treats him. As a response, Pien would climb either on top of Arthur's head or rest on the shoulder, much to Enzo's delight.

Horror and fantasy are must-watch movie themes for Arthur and Piri during movie nights.

Whenever he finds the time, Arthur would help Enzo recap some British terms. BUT without telling Alfred unless the American asked for it.

Arthur still sketches birds from time to time, and would sometimes sketch Enzo with birds on his arms, shoulders and on top of his head, much to Arthur's amusement.

Thank you so much for the question and for showing interest! And I love babbling about my stories and headcanons, you certainly aren’t bothering me! 😄

About Francis, Gilbert, and Antonio, the background of their friendship in BtBP is the same I generally use in all my human AUs. (Yeah I know I have posted only two so far, but I have many more planned.) They all come from very rich families and attended a prestigious (and non-existent, haha) boarding British school in Switzerland (French-speaking part). They were the same age and roommates for the entire time they went there, they ended up creating a deep bond.

In this specific AU, at the beginning of the winter break of their senior year, Gilbert’s parents died (it’s the accident he mentions to Alfred). Gilbert and Ludwig were then transferred under the custody of their grandfather, who lived in America (not in the same city Arthur and the kids already lived in). Gilbert finished his last semester in Switzerland and then moved in with Ludwig and their grandfather, where he also got first his EMT and then paramedic licence. Four years before BtBP (Ludwig’s first year of high school) they moved to the city depicted in the story. He always kept in contact with Antonio and Francis.

Francis moved to America right after high school (for some baking courses and then he worked part-time in a bakery as he attended college). At the end of summer, Antonio moved there as well for college. They had even considered renting a flat together but didn’t go through with it because Antonio ended up finding a room inside the campus while Francis searched for something closer to the bakery. They kept frequenting each other and being in contact, though. And once Gilbert moved, the three of them were once again extremely close.

Francis wasn’t so involved in Alfred and Matthew’s life as to introduce his friends to them, though (which is the reason Alfred and Matthew only really got to know Gilbert once they started frequenting Ludwig. They had certainly heard about him from Francis, but never met). Arthur, instead, is acquainted with them because he’s closer in age. Sometimes, Francis even dragged him along when they went out (with George and Aila’s approval, haha) as he thought Arthur was too reclusive for his own good. Moreover, Arthur started college when Antonio was in his senior year, so they would see each other around. It isn’t like they’re friends, but they do know each other.

Heya! I'm a huge fan of your blog, and I'm going to have a surgery done on my jaw in a few months so I'm very nervous. Can I get some headcanons about how Axis Trio (+Romano, Spain and Prussia) and Allies (+Canada) would take care of their s/o after they have surgery? It would help me feel so much better

(We hope everything goes well with your surgery! And thank you for the ask)

Italy: Feliciano would probably be pacing back and forth outside the operation room worried sick. He’s normally a cheery guy, but he will be on edge until he can see you again. After the surgery however, he’s a HUGE cuddle bug. He would watch your favorite movies with you and rub wherever it hurt just to make you feel better.

Germany: Also a worry wart when you get out of surgery. He would want to speak with the doctor to make sure you took every necessary precaution so that your healing process goes smoothly. Ludwig would stay by your side at all times, scolding you gently if you decided to get out of bed and do something. He would rather be in charge of you until you were back to normal because deep down he just wants for you to feel better again.

Japan: Kiku is surprisingly prepared for the aftermath even before your surgery takes place. If you like cute things, you would come home to your bed filled with stuffed animals and a warm cup of tea waiting on your night table. Whenever he can he would visit with a fresh bouquet of flowers. He’s a man of few words but is a pro at showing his affection towards caring for you.

Romano: Unfortunately, his worry is masked by aggravation and tension. He would never flat out snap at you, but he would snap at anyone else who tried to be the one to take care of you or get near you in general. Lovino would ask tons of questions, asking if you were okay or if you needed anything else. It would amuse you, considering you know your boyfriend well enough to know he’s doing this out of love. After a while he would calm down and offer to take naps with you.

Spain: Antonio is another country who’s never really seen with a frown on his face, but he would get surprisingly serious during your recovery. He’s more laid back, cuddling you on the couch and watching TV or simply grabbing his guitar to sing you a lullaby. He would try to make sure you didn’t have to do anything yourself, so Antonio would be a perfect butler for you while you healed!

Prussia: SO. MANY. JOKES. But he means well. He would be looking up online how many jaw related jokes he can find and just try to make you laugh because he knows how nervous you were about it. But if you didn’t enjoy any of the jokes, he would try to apologize and make up for it by giving you little gifts while he is out and about. Gilbert would make sure you were never alone at night, so expect pillow forts and mountains of blankets to be thrown on or around you.

America: You want candy? He’s got you. You want a piggy back ride down to the kitchen for some snacks? Consider it done. You want kisses all over your face? Bam, no questions asked. Alfred is a very tentative and loving boyfriend and would fawn over you as much as he could to make sure you were feeling better. He’s a lot more affectionate when he knows his s/o is in pain or recovering from something, so he would let you lay against his chest while he laughed at stupid parts of your favorite movies.

England: Very similar to Germany. Arthur would want to make sure that everything went smoothly during your recovery so you can feel more like yourself in a shorter amount of time. Expect breakfast in bed almost every day and a gentle kiss on your forehead as well. He’s a pure gentleman when caring for his s/o, and this is where you’d hear sweet and comforting words leave his lips every day and night.

France: On the outside he’s calm and collected, on the inside he’s a nervous wreck. Francis does not like it when his s/o is in any sort of pain or discomfort, so he would try his best to make sure your recovery was smooth and entertaining. He knows you might get bored doing nothing all day while you healed, so France would go all out to gather your favorite things and do them with you! He would also give you compliments as well, making sure you didn’t feel like a burden to him.

Russia: There is almost nothing in the world that would get Ivan to worry his head off, but this would be one of the exceptions. He has seen too many loved ones in his life experience surgeries and operations that you’d expect him to be used to it, but he hates it. When it was time for you to come home, he would bring you to your room or wherever you felt comfortable and give you his scarf. It would immediately go around your neck and he would even cook for you if you wanted. Whenever you two were apart for a short amount of time, he would call to make sure you were still okay.

China: He acts more like a parent than a boyfriend in this situation. Much like Germany or England, China would refuse to leave your side and pay close attention to your medical needs and check up on you constantly. When he sees that all his fussing about is unnecessary, he would calm down and ask you what meal you were craving for the most. And just like the excellent chef he is, he would whip it up in no time and share a meal with you, holding you close in the mountain of plushies he brought over as well.

Canada: Oh, this poor boy has it bad. Matthew would be a skittish and worried mess to see you after your surgery. Even if you reassured him you were okay, he would still try and ask if you needed anything. One of his favorite things to do for you is make hot drinks (especially hot chocolate with a drizzle of maple syrup, you should try it one day!) . He would give them to you every morning and night to soothe and calm you. Affection and attention are probably the two most important things on his mind, and Canada would never fail to bring exactly that.

1p!America headcanons

Everyone gets sick of food after eating too much of it for too long: when Alfred gets sick of hamburgers from McDonald’s for a while, he constantly whines and complains about it. Matthew has to hear a lot of it, and gets very annoyed by it, but he just smiles and nods. He’s offered to give Alfred suggestions of food to try, and Alfred usually declines. He usually eats a lot of chicken nuggets during this time. He spams people with pictures of the nuggets, annoying Arthur to no end. Ivan asks if it’s supposed to be a meme. Kiku is confused by it, but just accepts it as Alfred’s weirdness.

Alfred usually sleeps in just his underwear or in sweatpants in the summer. In the winter, he likes to pile a ton of blankets on top of himself; Alfred finds the feeling of tons of blankets strange, but in a good way. Since Alfred tends to toss and turn, by morning, the blanket or blankets tend(s) to be in a giant tangled mess.

Some of the TV shows he watches are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Gotham, The Amazing World of Gumball, and Agents of SHIELD. His favorite turtle is Leo, mostly because he’s the leader. In a human AU, as a child, Alfred would get Francis to buy him toy katanas meant to be like Leo’s. In canonverse and a human AU, Peter (Sealand) and Alfred play ninja turtles, taking turns being Leo. They both collect figurines and play with them together. Alfred kind of ships Nygmobblepot, but is not too intense about it.

Alfred tried taking medicine for his ADHD once, but he didn’t like how it made him felt, so he didn’t stay on it.

While he doesn’t read much, Alfred will randomly take a day to just read. His favorite genre of books is fantasy. He really enjoys books by Rick Riordan and the Eragon series. Once Arthur got him to read the Harry Potter series, and he loved it. He was obsessed with it for a little while, but after awhile decided to move onto another fandom. He cried while reading <i>My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell you She’s Sorry</i> and had tears in his eyes when reading the end of <i>Inheritance</i>.

He’s a bit of a weeb. Not a huge, annoying one that tries to learn anime from reading the subtitles, however he does really enjoy watching anime. Sometimes, he’ll watch it with Kiku, but he prefers to watch it on his own. That way, he can pause it or use the bathroom whenever he wants.

He has most Marvel and DC comics, and has a slight preference for DC. Alfred does, however, enjoy the Marvel movies more.

When Peter was very young, he was terrified that he’d want Alfred to watch TV shows with him. Peter did a few times, but Alfred got him to not watch Dora. They watched Diego instead, and avoided the episodes with Dora in it.

Alfred likes all kinds of music, but mostly prefers pop, punk, and rap. He has a hard time choosing favorite singers, rappers, and bands.

Alfred still buys a lot of CDs, instead of only listening to them on devices like his phone and his iPods.

Omgg, could we get a hint, a snap, a headcanon, anything, from this exchange au of yours?

I can give you everything I have so far anon. Because let me tell you, first weeks of exchange were an absolute nightmare and building this au based on my experience was one of my ways to cope. But I now am enjoying being on exchange and I'm so glad I stuck with it.

Also German exchange students are one of the biggest groups of exchange students there are next to like Americans and Canadians. Which also spurred this au.

So Ludwig and Arthur are roomates at uni with Ludwig being on exchange for the year. Arthur can tell Lud is having a rough time settling in so he invites Ludwig to come shopping with him and his older brothers (who are helping him get settled). Overall, he just tries to help Lud settle and feel more comfortable.

If moving to a new country and starting fresh wasn't already hard, he is faced with his birthday the first few days in. And it's hard not having anyone to celebrate with. Usually his brother and dad would make such a big deal about it even when Ludwig didn't want them to. Now he was missing that. Missing the cake Gilbert always make him. How he'd wake up to a personalized sign on his door wishing him a happy birthday. The big 20 and he was alone.

Arthur catches wind that it's Ludwig's birthday and gets his friends together (Kiku their roomate and a close friend of Arthur who brings along his boyfriend Feli who is also an exchange student, Alfred and Matthew who are Arthur's cousins but the three had always been close, Francis and Afonso). They all help plan a little party at the bar on campus and get a cake to celebrate. Some even brought gifts of chocolate and sweets. It's not the same, but Ludwig is glad he got to celebrate in the end and is touched that Arthur put all this together.

Anyway few weeks go by, Ludwig and Arthur get closer and closer as Arthur guides Lud through life in England. Based on a little hut I found in the town I am in (see below), there is a hut that servers German sausage. So after a really hard day with homesickness Arthur takes him to a similar hut to possibly give Lud a taste of home. Lud complains that it's expensive and they get into a bit of an argument with Arthur ending with Arthur saying he'll pay and he just wants to make Lud feel better. Lud is once again touched and this is when he probably starts falling for Arthur, smitten by how much he cares even when he tries to act like he doesn't.

Another way Arthur helps Lud with his homesickness is taking him to the weekly therapy dog sessions the uni offers because he finds out Lud really likes dogs. When they go to the first session it's the first time Arthur sees Lud genuinely smile and he may or may not fall in love right then and there.

Some more time goes by and for bonfire night, the university puts on a fireworks show and Arthur takes Ludwig to it. But underestimating how cold it would, Arthur is underdressed and is freezing as they wait for the show to start. In the end, Lud let's him huddle under his coat, forcing them in close proximity. But its all necessary I assure you lol.

Them sharing their first kiss on an empty bus on a Sunday evening.

Anyway, them taking trips together. Arthur swearing to show Lud every inch of London. Ludwig taking Arthur to Germany with him during Christmas break to introduce him to his family.

And that's all I got so far.

America

honestly, the biggest change that happens from bf to husband is that he calls you his wife/husband all the time

like "oh hello stranger have you met my wife/husband?" "how's my lovely husband/wife?"

please maybe do the classic spouse things like tying his tie for him or giving him a goodbye kiss before work/meetings it would make his whole day

and expect him to do that for you if you somehow have to leave before he does

if you work please expect him to send you gifts like bouquets of flowers or those edible bouquets that say 'from your loving and heroic husband~'

if you're a house spouse still expect the bouquets, but at a grander scale since he doesn't have to worry about you struggling to carry or drive them home

literally sweeps you off your feet every day

he just likes to hold you

please expect a minimum of one (1) 'I love you' every single day even if you two are fighting

England

Maybe a bit sad but even after a long while he's still surprised you said yes to marrying him

Arthur makes you tea every morning either before he leaves for work or before you do (or he'll make you some coffee if you prefer but he really doesn't understand how you like it)

honestly really loves it if you were to openly flaunt that you were married to him

like confidently showing off your ring or offhandedly mentioning that he was your husband in conversations with strangers

it plays on repeat in his mind randomly, gives him a big ol' burst of serotonin

please cook for him, he literally cannot, and even though it kills him to admit it even to you, he'd rather bite the bullet and be able to eat good food

fighting is nearly non-existent but when it does happen it depends on who's right

if he is, he won't apologize, he won't hold a grudge against you for not apologizing, but no apology is leaving him

he's showy by nature so expect the same treatment Alfred gave but take it up a notch and make it sound more mature

he's not very showy unfortunately even though he would love to be but more often than not nobody notices him so he never gets the chance

he's a simple man what can I say

never even worry about breakfast, Matthew has this in the bag

he makes whatever you want if you request it, but if not his default is pancakes, that good Candian maple syrup, eggs, bacon, and biscuits plus whatever it is you fancy to drink in the mornings

At the moment I’m not working on any new story, I still have to write the epilogue for Arthur Kirkland’s Guide To Being a Big Brother (I’m trying to do that, actually, but it’s proving to be quite hard in spite of being short…) and of course there’s always Chrysalis. I finally got to the end of the part written in Italian with the last chapter, but the rest is still to write… and I haven’t even reached the first half of the story haha.

I do have a lot of other stories planned, however! I don’t know when and if I’ll be able to write them, but as of now, this is my plotlines file:

(And it doesn’t include the two Harry Potter crossovers, plus some stories have a more expanded version of the plot and characters sheets in other files, haha.)

There are some short stories I might also write while I’m still completing Chrysalis (I still don’t know the order, though) that are:

- A one–two shots focusing on France’s relationship with Canada from the early colonial days to the French and Indian War, written from France’s POV.

- Another short story (one–two shots I guess, but I always misjudge the length of my stories…) set when America and Canada are both still toddlers under England’s care, the story behind this headcanon: [x]. COMPLETED STORY [x]

- A story set in the same universe as Arthur Kirkland’s Guide To Being a Big Brother, when Arthur, Alfred, and Matthew are respectively 20, 16, and 14, dealing with Alfred’s rebellious stage and a medical emergency (I’m doing so much research for this! And I still can’t find something that confirms or denies an assumption of mine, it’s driving me crazy…) WIP [x]

- Another story set in the same universe, this time very Matthew-centric (he’s 17 here), but I’m still unsure if I will ever publish it because it would deal with some heavy issues. It would probably be M-rated.

- A human AU where Matthew is a college freshman and people keep mistaking him for an older student, Alfred Jones, who seems to have gotten half of the school population mad at him. One day (or rather, night), Matthew stumbles upon a drunk Arthur, who turns out to be Alfred’s older cousin and mistakes Matthew for him, as well. Thanks to Arthur, Matthew finally gets to meet Alfred, but that’s not the end of the shenanigans.

- A short story or series of one-shots about Arthur and Amelia’s meeting before Chrysalis. Francis would heavily feature as well. (This story would be USUK, obviously.)

- A human AU based on something I wrote for a contest in high school, in which a 17-year-old Alfred ends up moving to a small Canadian town with his estranged father James (2p!Canada) and his half-brother Matthew (whose existence Alfred wasn’t aware of) after his mother’s death. James seems a hard-working and honest man, if a bit rough around the edges, while Matthew is quiet and awkward and generally regarded as the local loon. James, who is highly regarded in town, seems to agree with that and encourages Alfred to do the same, but as the time goes by, Alfred starts realizing that there’s more to the situation than what meets the eye.

There are also some longer (possibly novel-length) stories I might write after Chrysalis, I still don’t know which one I’ll start first but these are the ones with the most detailed outline for now:

- A human AU where Arthur is an aspiring writer who just got his bachelor degree. He moves to America (possibly NYC, but I’m not sure yet) to escape a less-than-stellar family situation, and there he ends up sharing the apartment with Francis (an acquaintance of his eldest brother’s), who moved away from Paris after his wife died in a house fire. They end up stumbling upon Alfred and Matthew, two street children, and eventually manage to befriend and start taking care of them. (Note: there would be no pairings.) It would be set in a close past (most likely the 70s) because the absence of internet and some different (laxer, mostly) laws would fix a couple of plot-holes.

- A story set in the canon-verse, where Canada’s (fictional) PM isolates him from the other nations and tries to find a way to strip him from his nation-hood and create a personification that will obey to all her commands.

- Another human AU where Arthur is a young lawyer and a client of his is Alfred, a 19-year-old trying to get custody of his 7-year-old half-brother, Matthew. The other party involved is Matthew’s paternal aunt Mélanie (2p!Nyo!Canada), who doesn’t care for him in the slightest but wants to put her hands on the consistent inheritance Matthew’s father left behind. Francis is Matthew’s social worker and an old ‘friend’ of Arthur’s, the one who recommended Arthur in the first place (he’s firmly convinced that Matthew should stay with Alfred, but Mélanie went to legal actions). Another note is that Matthew is hemophilic in this (I’ve already done some research and I think I can pull this off).

- A fantasy story where Alfred is the crown prince and Matthew his younger brother who their father despises (he has reasons). As the ‘spare’, Matthew is constantly thrust into dangerous situations in Alfred’s place and he ends up meeting the children of northern king their father is in conflict with, the crown princess Anya (Nyo!Russia) and her half-sisters Iryna and Natalya. Years later, Matthew, Alfred, Anya, Iryna and Natalya work together to prevent a war between their fathers. Arthur and Francis are involved as well – Arthur is the son of the king’s younger sister and he has magical abilities, and Francis is the son of the queen’s older sister. Edit: I might use Francine (Fem!France) instead of Francis. I’m not sure.

- A more fairytale-like setting where Alfred is a peasant who ends up becoming a knight-in-training after saving a ‘page’. His older sister Rose (Nyo!England) follows him to the court and is taken as a healer apprentice. Francis is the crown prince and Marguerite (Nyo!Canada) his younger sister, but until Francis turns 22 his aunt Chantal (2p!Nyo!France, older sister of the late queen and married to a royal advisor) is the regent in his place and she’s scheming to pass the throne to her own son, Louis (2p!France). Alfred and Rose become involved when they get close respectively to Marguerite and Francis. This story would also include some romance, with AmeCan and FrUK as pairings.

- Then there’s this one. I hope I’ll have some free time this summer, so I might also have time for some research. And I might set it before the war of 1812… would Outlander count as ‘reference’ for the setting? The last books are set during the Revolutionary War, and a friend of mine who’s a history major told me they’re quite accurate… *sweats*

As you can see, I have plenty of ideas, and these are only the ones with a quite delineated plot, but there are a lot more haha. I surely won’t be able to write them all or might come up with completely different ones, but who knows…
