"Of course I know how to measure!"
"Then, dear... What are you using that spoon for?"
"You need a teaspoon of-"
"Tablespoon?" Will looks at the recipe book in front of him. "What is a tablespoon? It is saying five grams."
You pout at him. You don't know grams. You don't weigh measurements. You've always used cups, and teaspoons and tablespoons. How are you supposed to know what five grams of baking powder is?
"Let me see that!" You squeeze yourself between him and the counter to look at the book. His arms wrap around your waist as you look at ingredients.
You keep pouting. This is always how you made them back home. You know the recipe by heart. You don't need a book.
You close it. "I don't need that! Me and my grandma used to make cookies all the time. I know this by heart," you step away and continue to mix the ingredients together.
Will leans against the counter watching you. His hair is pulled back from trying to help you. "Your face will get stuck with that dearie," he pokes your cheek trying to get you to smile.
"Wiiiiiiill," you whine. Your hair is pulled back but is a mess.
"I only want to help you," he puts his hands on your cheeks and kisses you. "Tell me. Why do you wish to make these cookies so bad?"
"I made them every holiday with my family and I want to make them for you," you look up at him with puppy dog eyes. "But you have to be so precise with ingredients when baking and I grew up using measuring spoons and you don't have the ones I need."
"I am sure they will turn out perfect," he kisses you again and holds your hands. "Please, take a break."
"I will once they are in the oven," you kiss him back. "Now out of my way! I have things I need to do."
Will laughs and steps to the side.
"Keep Puck out of the kitchen. He keeps trying to attack my feet."
You look over to the table, where Puck is hiding under.
"Cometh here," Will goes over and scoops him up. "We leave her alone," he gives Pucks nose a little kiss and leaves the kitchen with him.
You continue to make the cookies. Making a few different kinds so that Will can try them. You never asked him what kind of holiday cookies he's ever had, but you imagine it's not many.
You make sugar, peanut butter, gingerbread, thumb prints, lemon drop. Anything you think he would like, plus you're giving some to the mansion. You even tried to make lady locks, which isn't easy without the right tools.
Some time goes by and Will still hasn't seen you exit the kitchen. "Stay," he looks at Puck and he gets up. "Love? Why don't you rest now. It has been-" he stops once he smells the cookies. "That smell is amazing."
You are putting the cookies on a tray. You were just about to bring him a few. You quickly wipe your hands on your very dirty clothes and bring a plate over to him.
"I finished!"
His mismatched eyes look down at the plate. He's seen maybe two of those cookies before. You see the confusion and point at each one, telling him the names.
He still seems confused, tilting his head slightly.
"Go on. Try one!" You are very excited to see his reaction. He picks up the one you called a thumb print and bites into it. Crumbs fall from it and he quickly puts his other hand under the cookie to stop from making a mess.
"Oh my. That's delicious," he smiles and eats the other bite of his cookie.
You smile, feeling so proud of yourself. Considering he only eats at fancy restaurants, hearing his compliments make you bubbly inside.
"I still need to ice the sugar cookies. Would you like to help?"
"Ice them?" He's confused.
"Yeah, like putting icing on them."
"Oh! Yes I'll help you," he smiles.
You put the plate down and bring the cookies and icing to the table to sit down and ice them with him. Will sits down and watches you decorate one before starting on his own.
You both talk and laugh as you get them all decorated .

I wish you would write Ven (Dandelion Seeds-adjacent) reuniting with Lauriam and Subject X Skuld in the present time. I think it would be kind of heartbreaking, since I feel like they sent him and themselves off in the hopes they would be safe and all of them (Ven like three different times over) just landed in a different tragedy
(For this)
HEY ANON, HOW'D YOU KNOW I'VE BEEN ROTATING THIS IDEA IN MY HEAD FOR FOREVER--
--
“What if they don’t like me?”
It felt like such a silly, childish thing to ask, and it didn’t even remotely encompass everything Ven wanted to say.  But at the end of the day, he wasn’t the same kid the two of them had known; that boy had died, somewhere between trapping Darkness inside him and being torn apart, and he had been left to pick up the scattered memories of who he used to be.
“Then they don’t know what they’re missing,” Aqua informed him.
“And we can always drop paint on them—ow.”  Terra lifted his hands in a placating manner, warding off getting elbowed again.
Ven smiled, despite himself, and laughed quietly.  “Thanks, guys.”
Skuld and Lauriam were…waiting for him.  Just outside the castle doors.  He flexed his fingers and released a shaky breath.  He didn’t know much about what they’d be like, either, he realized—he knew a little about what had happened, from Lea and Isa and Namine and Sora, but he didn’t know what that meant for any of them.  That felt almost as frightening as the thought of rejection.
Still.  He wasn’t that same terrified kid who didn’t feel qualified to be a Union Leader anymore.  He was almost a Master in his own right.  He’d made it through several wars, apparently, and fought Heartless and Unversed, and braved the afterlife to save his friend.  He could face trying to reconnect with these people a part of him once knew.
            …Probably.
Before he could talk himself out of it, Ven pushed open the castle doors and strode into the courtyard.
Two pairs of eyes snapped towards him immediately, quiet conversation cut short.  He’d known what Lauriam would look like, from his vague memories of seeing Marluxia on the battlefield, but it was still jarring to compare to the skinnier, softer-faced boy from his memories.  Skuld—he hadn’t been sure what his image of an older Skuld was, but this felt almost right; too lean, maybe, from travel or from whatever Xehanort had put her through, her expression still a little too guarded, but the clothes weren’t all that different from what she used to wear, patch-marked with trinkets from the worlds she’d visited, hair long and braided, a familiar warmth in her eyes that life hadn’t quite managed to crush out of her.
Lauriam mouthed something that Ven thought might’ve been his name; he started towards him, then stopped almost as abruptly, hand lifted like he’d wanted to reach out to him but couldn’t.
Ven swallowed tightly.  Echoes of conversations flitted through his head:
(“You’ll grow into it.  Just give it time.”)
(“I love you too, you know.  You’re like my little brother, and I don’t want you to be distressed, either.”)
(“The rest of us love you, Ven, and that doesn’t hinge on what you do or don’t do.  We care about you.  Okay?”)
This had been his brother, once; he’d been terrified of how Lauriam might react to him (this wasn’t the first time you took his sibling away), but he suddenly realized that maybe Lauriam had similar fears.  Maybe we’re just all a little broken, and we’ll have to make something new from the pieces.
Ven flashed Lauriam a tremulous smile and opened his arms for a hug.  “Hey, Lauriam.”
Lauriam made a pained noise that didn’t sound entirely voluntary and cross the distance, nearly bowling Ven over.  Ven laughed, giddy and relieved.  “No fair; you weren’t supposed to get so much bigger than me.”
Lauriam laughed, the sound wet, hug so tight Ven could barely breathe.  “You had a lot of catching up to do.”
            “Hey!”
Lauriam snorted, and then sucked in a deep, shaky breath.  “I missed you.”
Ven’s eyes stung.  “Missed you, too.”  He wriggled away from Lauriam enough to extend an arm towards Skuld.
Skuld hesitated, looking almost lost, then shook her head with a soft smile.  “It’s not you,” she promised, apparently catching Ven’s crestfallen look.  “Things just…happened.”
“That…feels like an understatement,” Ven admitted.
Skuld crossed the distance to join them; after a hesitant moment she reached out a hand, placing it cautiously against Ven’s cheek.  Something in her expression relaxed, the wariness fading away.  “You grew a lot, too,” she said, voice bittersweet.
“Not enough, apparently,” Ven grumbled, giving Lauriam a pointed look.
“That just means that you can make Lauriam reach for things.”
            Lauriam sighed.
Footsteps came, quiet, from behind them; Skuld shifted, all wariness again, positioning herself just slightly so that she was in front of Ven and Lauriam.  Ven had half a moment to worry before looking to see Terra and Aqua, approaching slowly.  “Don’t worry.  Those are my friends.  Come on, I’ll take you to meet them.”  He paused, and then added, “And then…maybe we can catch up.  Find out what we’ve all been doing since…you know.”
Lauriam’s expression turned pained; Skuld’s just looked sad.  “It isn’t a nice story, Ven,” Skuld murmured.  With a glance towards Lauriam, she added, “Either of ours.”
Ven could feel his expression softening.  “I know.  Mine isn’t either, in some ways.  But…I want to know, anyways.”
Skuld’s expression softened.  “I…don’t think Lauriam’s planning on letting you go anytime soon.”
Lauriam looked sheepish, but he didn’t deny it.
Ven laughed, then grabbed Lauriam’s hand and dragged him towards his friends, Skuld keeping pace.  Their relationship might not be the same as it was, maybe—but they could start rebuilding it, and maybe make something new.

summary: y/n, basilio and crispin's sister, just experienced her first break-up.
warnings: some improper shifts in tenses <\3 rlly rusty at writing already aaaa. but nonetheless this fic is very fluffy! i apologize in advance for any grammatical errors you may notice, i didn't proofread this :(
yes, i kinda made alexandra fluffy too.
—♡—
"Good Morning, guys!" Basilio turned around to see his brother, Crispin, with a huge smile plastered on his face.
Basilio rolled his eyes, "Anong 'Good Morning'? Mag tatanghali na, di ka man lang nag linis!" (What do you mean 'Good Morning'? It's almost afternoon, you didn't even clean!) He playfully hit the older's head.
"Aray ko!" (Ouch!) Crispin winced and rubbed the spot his brother hit. Alexandra walks in the room with a cup of coffee in her hand. "Basilio, Mag sorry ka sa Kuya mo." (Basilio, apologize to your brother.) Basilio scoffs, "Sorry, Kuya."
They all gathered in the dining room for lunch. Well, brunch for Crispin. "Where's Y/N?" Alexandra asks, looking at the empty chair beside her. Clearly, the chair looked like it had been empty since last night. The twins stare at each other, then both at Alexandra.
"Diba may pinuntahan siya kagabi?" (Didn't she go out last night?) Alexandra mentions.
The twins both shake their head.
"Hindi niyo alam?" (You guys don't know?)
They shake their heads again.
Without a single word, the three exchanged looks and immediately stood up from their seats, rushing upstairs to Y/N's room.
Alexandra pushed the twins aside and pushed the key into the doorknob, then revealing a dishevled, puffy-eyed Y/N. The twins panicked. It was their first time seeing their beloved sister like this.
Meanwhile, Alexandra investigated her room. Y/N's things were on the floor, messed up sheets, and a broken necklace. She then looks over to Y/N. Still in her clothes, puffy-eyed, and her makeup was smuged. Alexandra already had an idea.
The twins shook her awake, "Y/N!, Y/N!— Gising na!" (Y/N, Y/N— Wake up!) With their loud voices and aggressive shaking, their sister finally woke up.
Immediately, Y/N's head started to pound— it was the alcohol she drank last night. She opened her eyes and saw Alexandra and her brothers. Upon seeing them, she bursted into tears.
A few months ago, Y/N dated this guy in her class. She hid this from Alexandra, most especially her brothers because she knew that they would beat her ass.
Alexandra found out about her relationship when she was about to fetch her from school. Hank and the twins were at home, sleeping their asses off after their mission.
Parked outside of Y/N's school, Alexandra was waiting for almost 30 minutes. Usually, Y/N would come out a few minutes after her dismissal— but these past few months have been different. After a few more minutes of waiting, she finally saw Y/N— with someone else.
Y/N was holding hands with a boy around 5'10 in height. They were laughing and they looked very sweet. The boy gave her a peck and she playfully pushed him away, then waving goodbye since she spotted the car.
Hank usually fetched Y/N from school, and she knew that Hank didn't really care about her relationship, so she really didn't feel embarrased whenever she entered the car.
Upon entering the car, she expected Hank to greet her. But she was greeted with Alexandra's voice.
"Boyfriend mo?" (Your boyfriend?) Alexandra looks over to her, and Y/N froze. Her first reaction was to lie about it. "Ha? H-Hindi, Ate! Friends lang kami.." (Huh? N-No! We're just friends..) Embarrased, Y/N tried to make herself busy by pretending to fix something in her bag to keep her distracted.
"Anong friends? Hinalikan ka niya, ah." (What do you mean friends? He kissed you.) She mentions.
"Ah.. Eh.." Y/N struggles to keep her words out. It was very evident.
"Sige na, di naman ako magagalit. Di ko sasabihin sa mga Kuya mo, sikreto lang natin." (It's okay, I won't get mad. I won't tell your brothers, it'll be our secret.)
"Oo.. Boyfriend ko siya, Ate. Malapit na kami mag 6 months." (Yes.. He's my boyfriend, Ate. We've been together for almost 6 months.)
From that day on, Y/N would always tell Alexandra about how her relationship was going. And though Alexandra has never had any romantical partners, she tries her best to give Y/N advice.
Tiptoe-ing her way downstairs, Y/N was dressed in her clothes to leave the house, on the way to party with her friends and her boyfriend, Jerome.
She checked her phone, 12:47 AM.
Everyone was most likely asleep at this hour, or so she thought.
"Oh, san ka papunta at ganyan suot mo?" (Hey, where are you going and why are you wearing that?) Y/N jolted and turned around to see Alexandra sitting on the dining table.
"Ah.. Ate.. Kasi may p-party kaming pupuntahan nila Aira.." (Ah... There's this p-party I'm going to with Aira..)
"Sina Aira lang ba? O kasama yung boyfriend mo?" (Is it just Aira? Or your boyfriend is going too?) Alexandra tilted her head in question.
"...Kasama po si Jerome." (...Jerome is coming too.)
Alexandra nodded, signalling her that it was okay for her, as an Ate, to go. "Sige, doble ingat ka, okay? Eto, dalhin mo to." (Be extra careful, okay? Here, bring this.) Alexandra pulls out a self defense keychain from her pocket and throws it at Y/N's direction. "May alarm diyan. If you're in any danger, pindutin mo yung alarm and malalaman ko location mo, pupuntahan kita kaagad." (There's an alarm there. If you're in any danger, press that alarm and I'll be able to know your location, then I'll come and get you.)
"Thanks, Ate! Mag iingat ako. Love you!" (Thanks, Ate! I'll take care. Love you!) Y/N smiled and hugged Alexandra.
Little did she know, Y/N's smile wouldn't last very long.
That night, Y/N saw her boyfriend kissing another girl across the room. She confronted him and he admitted that he had been cheating on her for the past few months. Y/N didn't know what to feel. She didn't wanna call Alexandra because she knew that she would be asleep by now. She didn't wanna talk to her friends either, so she went home.
Once she arrived home, she didn't bother to change or shower. She was so tired. Her body fell on the bed and she instantly cried. sobbing against her pillows to muffle her tears.
Basilio and Crispin were clueless about as to why their sister was crying. They consoled her for a few minutes until Alexandra spoke.
"Basilio, Crispin— mag usap tayo sa labas." (Basilio, Crispin— let's talk outside.) Alexandra left the room and waited for the twins to leave as well. Once they left the room, she shut the door.
The twins looked worried— well, afraid, rather.
"May sikreto kaming itinatago ni Y/N sa inyong dalawa.." (Y/N and I have a secret we've been keeping from the both of you..) Alexandra starts off.
"Ano yun, Bossing?" (What is it, Bossing?) The twins replied, obviously curious.
Alexandra knew that if she told the twins, their reaction wouldn't be as violent if it was Y/N who would be telling it instead.
"May boyfriend si Y/N." (Y/N has a boyfriend.)
The twins both drop their jaws, "Ano?!" (What?!) Basilio slaps his hand over his mouth, while Crispin is in complete shock. "Kelan pa, Bossing?" (Since when, Bossing?) Basilio asks with a hint of anger in his voice.
"2 months ago niya sinabi sakin.. Siguro 8 months silang mag jowa." (She told me 2 months ago.. Maybe they've been together for around 8 months.)
"Tangina naman!" (Motherfucker!) Crispin throws a punch to the nearest wall. Alexandra has never seen the twins react like this, especially Crispin.
There was a moment of silence.
"Nahuli ko siyang tumatakas kaninang 12, nag paalam sakin na may pupuntahan na party, kasama boyfriend niya." (I caught her sneaking out earlier at 12, she asked my permission if she could go to a party with her boyfriend.)
"Bat di niyo kami ginising, bossing?" (Why didn't you wake us up, Bossing?) Basilio sighs, "Ayaw niya na malaman nyo na may boyfriend siya, kasi alam niya na magagalit kayo." (She didn't want you guys to find out that she had a boyfriend, because she knew that you guys would get mad.)
"Malamang, bunso namin 'yan eh! Alangan naman pabayaan namin 'yan diba? Eh hindi pa nga namin kilala boyfriend nyan!" (Of course we would get mad, she's our baby sister! Do you think we'd let her get away just like that? We haven't even met her boyfriend yet!" Crispin rambles.
"Mabait naman yung boyfriend niya." (Her boyfriend is kind.) Alexandra defends, "Bossing, 'di naman po yun sapat para ma kumbinsi nyo po kami na pwede po siya magkajowa.." (Bossing, that isn't a sufficient reason to convince us that it's okay for her to have a boyfriend..) Basilio says calmly, but deep down? He was screaming.
Alexandra ignores Basilio's statement, "Ano naman kinaiiyakan niya?" (What is she crying about?) Crispin managed to say despite the emotions he felt about the situation. Alexandra lets out a sigh, "Nag break na siguro sila." (Maybe they broke up.)
"Tangina, sabi ko na nga ba eh." (I fucking knew it.) Crispin mumbles under his breath, while running his fingers through his hair out of frustration.
"Yung sirang necklace na nasa sahig kanina, bigay yun ng boyfriend niya sa kanya. Hula ko, sinira niya kasi break na sila." (The broken necklace on the floor, her boyfriend gave that to her. My guess is that she broke it because they broke up.)
"Anong gagawin natin, Bossing?" (What are we going to do, Bossing?) Basilio asks her, desperate for a solution.
Alexandra wasn't the type to arrange surprises, so she had to think fast.
"Basilio, bumili ka ng Jollibee. Tapos ikaw Crispin, bumili ka ng ice cream. Yung favorite flavor niya ah?" (Basilio, go buy some Jollibee. Then you Crispin, buy some ice cream. Her favorite flavor okay?) Alexandra commands. Even in this situation, the twins had no choice to obey. "Sige po, bossing." (Yes, bossing.) They replied with no hesitation.
Crispin was the first one to come back with the ice cream, since the sari-sari store was just by the corner of their street. Obviously, Basilio took the longest— he had to take a tricycle to the nearest Jollibee.
After a few minutes, Basilio arrived with 2 bags of Jollibee. "Antagal mo naman, natunaw na yung ice cream." (Took you long enough, the ice cream already melted.) Crispin complains, rolling his eyes playfully.
"Bat di mo nilagay sa freezer? Parang timang 'to eh." (Why didn't you put it in the freezer? What a dumbass.) Basilo replies, settling the food on the table. Alexandra enters the room, "Andito na pala kayo. Halika na." (You guys are already here. Let's go.)
"Ano bang gagawin natin, bossing?" (What are we going to do anyway, bossing?) Basilio scratches his head out of confusion. "Malamang isusurprise natin." (Of course we're gonna surprise her.) Crispin replies sarcastically. He was still mad about what happened.
The trio went upstairs, Basilio and Crispin carrying the ice cream and Jollibee. Alexandra knocked on Y/N's door. "Bunso?" She says in a loving voice. No reply on the other side of the room. Maybe she went back to sleep again. "Papasok kami ng mga kuya mo ah?" (Your brothers and I will enter okay?) Alexandra turns the doorknob open.
Y/N turns around to see her Ate and Kuyas enter her room quietly, "Ate Alex.." She croaks out, "May dala kami ng mga kuya mo para sayo.." (Your brothers and I brought some food for you..) Alexandra gestures to the food that the twins bought. Y/N sits up from her current position, rubbing her eyes.
Basilio frowns and sets the food on her study table, then sitting beside her on the bed. "Halika nga.." (Come here..) Basilio takes his beloved sister into his arms, caressing her back to calm her sobs. "K-Kuy-ya.." She manages to say inbetween sobs, but Basilio hushes her and rocks her softly.
Alexandra elbows Crispin, who is still standing by the door. "Alam kong galit ka sa amin, pero yakapin mo naman kapatid mo." (I know that you're mad at the both of us, but go hug your sister.) Crispin realizes this and sighs. He walks over to Y/N and Basilio, who are both still locked in an embrace. Y/N felt the other side of the bed sink, she pulls herself away from the hug and turns to face Crispin.
Crispin had a disappointed yet concerned look on his face. Without any words, he pulls her into his chest, enveloping her into a hug. Y/N was sobbing like crazy. Her brothers have never seen her like this, ever. They didn't know how to react. They tried to calm her down— Crispin was still hugging her, caressing her back, while Basilio brushed her hair.
Alexandra sat on the farther edge of the bed, giving the siblings their space. Once Y/N calmed down, Alexandra spoke. "Gusto mo ba ikwento samin yung nangyari..?" (Are you comfortable telling us about what happened..?)
Y/N wipes her tears, "Nakita ko si Jerome na may ka halikan na iba-a.. T-ta—" (I saw Jerome kissing someone else-e.. T-th—) She sobs, unable to form her sentence properly.
Basilio caresses her back to help her calm down, "Dahan-dahan lang, bunso.. Hinga ka lang.." (Slowly, bunso.. Just breathe..)
Crispin frowns, "—Tapos kinausap ko siya sa labas nung venue.. Matagal na daw siyang nag ch-cheat sa akin.." (—Then I talked to him outside.. He's been cheating on me for a long t-time..)
Crispin's eyes almost bulged out of his eye sockets out of shock, Basilio's mouth hung open, and Alexandra's eyebrows raised.
"Ha?!?" The three said.
Y/N nodded hesitantly.
"Aba tangina pala ng Jerome na yan eh! Ano ba itsura nyan?" (Well fuck that son of a bitch Jerome! What does he even look like?) Crispin retorts, Alexandra grabs Y/N's phone from the floor and hands it to her. Y/N searches for a somewhat decent picture of her now ex-boyfriend on her phone, and once she did, she showed her brothers.
Jerome wasn't too good looking, he wasn't too bad looking either. He was okay— or saks lang, some would say.
"Panget naman niyan, panget din siguro ka bonding." (He's ugly, he probably isn't fun to bond with.) Basilio jokes, "Gago oo nga, ang panget. Mas pogi pa kami ng kuya mo diyan eh! Masaya pa kami ka bonding." (Damn, he is ugly. Your brother and I are more handsome than that guy! We're fun to bond with too.) Crispin strikes a pose, which made his sister smile.
Alexandra looks at the picture, then giving a disapproving look at her. "Ang panget nga. Pumangit ba siya? Di naman ganyan itsura nyan nung nakita ko." (I agree, he is ugly. Did he get uglier? He didn't look like that when I met him.) The three siblings laugh.
"Uuuy, ngumiti na siya! Yieee!" (Ooo, she's smiling!) Basilio teases her, poking her side. Crispin joins in and starts tickling her side and neck. Y/N tried to hide her laughter, but she failed. "Kuya Crispin— Kuya Basilio! Tama na!" (Kuya Crispin— Kuya Basilio! Stop it!) She giggles, then Basilio and Crispin finally stop.
"Halika na, kain na tayo ng Jollibee! May ice cream din!" (Come, let's eat Jollibee! There's ice cream too!) Basilio stands up to get the food from her table, Crispin and Alexandra help him set up the food.
"Nood tayo ng movie!" (Let's watch a movie!) Y/N suggests, Crispin and Basilio agreeing. "Anong movie, bunso?" (What movie, bunso?) Basilio asks, "Horror nalang." (Let's watch horror.) Y/N flashes a devilish smirk, because she knew that her brothers were afraid.
Alexandra walks over to her and gives her food, then sitting beside her. "Thank you, Ate!" Y/N flashes Alexandra a smile. The twins follow after Alexandra, sitting on the farther end of the bed with their food in hand.
Y/N turns on the TV to find a horror movie to watch, then she clicks on a random one just for fun. "Ano plot neto?" (What's the plot of this movie?) Basilio says while chewing, "Ewan ko Kuya.. Kinlick ko lang yan eh." (I don't know, Kuya. I just clicked on it.) Y/N shrugs, eating a spoonful of rice.
The rest of the day went great. After the movie, the trio stayed in Y/N's room all day. They played games, watched weird documentaries, and karaoke.
"Happy ka na?" (Are you happy now?) Alexandra asks Y/N as they watched the twins sing a duet.
Y/N smiled. At that moment, she realized that she was more than thankful to have two crazy twin brothers, and a sister that would always be there for her.
"Yup, Happy na ako. Thank you, Ate." (Yup, I'm happy now. Thank you, Ate.)

Lost Being Found
Sora x Riku fic.
I haven’t wrote an actual fic in awhile and I saw this quote:
“What he feared most was that all this hiding had made it impossible for him to be found again.”
“highly logical behavior” john corey whaley.
And I just...instantly when to Riku and Sora. I went to Riku hiding himself but Sora finally find him😌.
And this is set in the KH2 reunion scene (the one we all love).
.
.
“Wait, Ansem!”
Riku stopped walking and he almost turned to look at the brunette behind him.
“I mean, Xehanort’s heartless," Sora said correcting himself.
He felt a stab in his heart. It’s Riku. It’s him, but he can’t tell him. He can’t show him. He can’t. Not like this.
“I never thought for a second that I’d see you again. Just thinking about the things you did makes me really angry," he says with that soft voice of his.
Who could blame him for feeling that? Riku expected him to go off, expected him to say he was ready to be rid of him and never see him again, but he said words he didn’t expect.
“But you saved Kairi, right?” Sora’s voice went back to its comforting high tone. “I have to be grateful for that. Thanks.”
Riku’s heart stopped for a moment at those words. He thanked him. He wasn’t telling him off, he wasn’t saying he didn’t want to see him again, and he didn’t have to turn around to know he didn’t have a look of disgust. He would just have that look he always had. The look of peace and calm.
With his thoughts and emotions running around, he began to walk away once again. His footsteps echoed on the walls and they were louder in his head. Every step was like walking through mud. He didn’t want to walk away, he wanted to go over to him and say, “it’s me. I’m here. I’ve never stopped watching you,” and try to earn his forgiveness, but he couldn’t.
He wouldn’t let him see him like this.
However, as if fate was being kind to him in its own way, he heard footsteps running after him, and he felt a gentle but firm grip grab his hand and pull him to a stop.
“Riku, don’t go!” Kairi’s voice was desperate and his heart was wounded even more. He kept causing people pain, and he felt the need to walk away becoming stronger, but he was stuck. He easily could've broken free of her grip, but...he didn't.
Donald, Goofy, and Sora let out a gasp of shock and his heart began to race faster.
“Kairi, what did you just say?” Sora’s voice was confused...but it was also hopeful. Hopeful that maybe he found Riku, the one he’s been searching for.
“Riku...”. Her voice was soft and even more desperate than before. She needed to let Sora know, she needed to get through Riku’s skull, she needed everyone to be back together.
“I’m no one. Just a castaway from the darkness,” he said in Ansem’s voice. Even hearing his voice made him feel disgusting and he almost didn’t want to open his mouth ever again.
“Sora, come here,” Kairi called out. “Say something to him.” Riku may have cared for her, but even she knew that no one could reach him like Sora could.
He thought he wouldn’t get closer, but he began to walk. He walked slowly over to them, and Riku didn’t know what was going to happen. But then he felt Kairi lift his hand, almost too easily, and lay Sora’s hand on Riku’s.
“Close your eyes.”
Riku looked over to Sora, and Sora looked back with a confused look, but he listened to her. He closed his eyes, and that fear began to kick in again.
He began to fear most that all this hiding had made it impossible for him to be found again.
He thought that this wouldn’t work, that Sora wouldn’t see him as Riku, and that even if he did he would be even more angry to know it was him.
But when Sora opened his eyes and looked at Riku, he knew that he saw him. He didn’t see Ansem, he saw Riku. He saw him and he watched as the love of his life grip his hand with both of his hands and fall to his knees.
“Riku...” he started with his voice now soft and sad. “It’s Riku. Riku’s here.” His voice sounded relieved and he could see that Sora could finally breathe properly.
“I looked for you.” His voice was wavering and he couldn’t look Riku in the eye.
“Come on, Sora. You’ve got to pull it together,” Riku said in that teasing tone he always used with him. He didn't know how to react, he didn’t know what to do, so he fell into his old habit. But that didn’t stop Sora at all.
Sora shook his head. “I looked everywhere for you!” His voice was weak and this time Riku watched as he looked up at him and tears fell from those beautiful blue eyes of his. And now Riku couldn’t stop himself from speaking his mind, finally giving a piece of himself to Sora.
“I didn’t want you to find me,” he said. It was true. He was scared of Sora finding him. He knew he wanted to find him, he knew Sora was aching to find him, but he couldn’t let him see him.
However, he still found him and Riku felt his heart become lighter. He loved Sora with everything in his heart. Their hearts were in tune, he would follow him anywhere in the world, and now he found him again.
And after picking on Sora and his crew, Sora looked at him with a soft and confused look. “Why didn’t you let me know you were okay?” His tone sounded like he was angry that he wouldn’t tell him, but Riku knew he wasn’t angry. He was only worried and relieved.
“I told you. I didn’t want to be found...not like this.” He held his hands in front of him and looked at the fabric covering them. He was wearing the black hood of the Organization, black gloves hiding his hands, and his whole body was hidden away from others.
“This battle isn’t over, and until it is, I still need the power of darkness,” Riku admitted with regret. He didn’t want it, but he needed it for this moment.
“Then let’s finish it. You’re still Riku no matter what,” Sora replied with confidence as he looked at him in the eye with determination.
Riku looked over to Donald and Goofy and Kairi and he felt his heart become lighter. It’s cracks were getting healed.
And deep down, he knew it would get better. They would win, everyone would be safe, and maybe the world will be okay.
And he wished he could hold Sora’s hand at the end of all of this and tell him his feelings...and maybe be blessed for Sora to feel the same.
.
.
Riku was in his bedroom at Master Yen Sid’s tower and he was laying in his bed. He was still wearing his regular clothes, but his jacket and shoes were off, neatly put away. And instead of sleeping, he held a paper above him, having the moonlight and the lamp on the nightstand on the left of him letting him see the paper.
Instead of it being a report of Sora’s perhaps whereabouts or reports about what they found of anything darkness related, it was a drawing Namine gave to him. She knew he was alone and closed off, but she thought maybe he would look at this remember and everything that he had gone through. Everything that Sora had gone through.
The drawing was of him being in his Ansem form with Sora’s hand together with his. Kairi wasn’t there, and he wondered why. He thinks maybe she just wanted to focus on him and Sora.
However, instead of wearing a sad face or another emotion, they both had smiles on their face. Sora had tears sliding down but there was still that smile there. Riku had a smile as well, and he smiled as his pointer finger traced that smile.
"Of course she would know I was happy to be with Sora," he thought.
And at the sight of the photo and the memory of that time, his heart felt heavy. He had hurt people during that time, he had done things he regretted...but he doesn't know if he truly regrets them. He'd do anything for Sora, and he practically did. He wishes there was another way to save him at that time, but there wasn't, so he took that chance. And now he had a scar on his wrist to remind him of his choices.
He let out a sigh and folded up the paper and placed it on the nightstand. He wrapped himself under his blankets and actually tried to sleep. He hadn't been sleeping well since Sora had been gone. He knew he was strong, how could he not? But still, this was the first time Sora was out of Riku's sight. He almost always knew where he was, even when it was for...darker reasons. He always knew, but now he doesn't.
And now he feared most that he wouldn't be able to find Sora. He himself had been found before, despite all his attempts at hiding, and now he worried that he wouldn't be able to find Sora. But he always pushed those thoughts away.
"Sora saved me, so I will save him."
It was a promise he told himself every night, and he planned to keep it.
.
.
SOOOO....It was different in my head, but this was the closest I could get! This one was focusing around Riku :). The next fic will be surrounding Sora and his issues that better be addressed SOMEWHERE in a game. But yeah hope you like this💙💙.

I feel like Axel’s parents would adore Roxas
“Dad would love you,” Axel declares one afternoon without preamble or prompting. They’re in the Radiant Garden waterways, heading back from another trip to the remains of the dungeons, getting lost despite having made the trip before and Axel’s denials to the contrary.
Roxas’ clothes are damp and dirty, there’s a crick in his neck still from having been hunched over books in Ansem’s sprawling labyrinth of a library with Axel and Isa until his eyes burned and Axel had dragged him on a jaunt to the dungeons (The waterway dungeons at least, the laboratories elsewhere also held containment cells and outright cages that made Roxas wonder where the line for categorization was drawn, as well as why anyone allowed Ansem the Wise to pretend for more than a second now that his scientific studies had been anything resembling noble before Xehanort showed up and “corrupted” them, as if there hadn’t been rot and darkness spreading long before) to stretch their legs and makeout against walls, his hair is sticking up in odd angles from damp and fingers run through it, he’s tired, he’s disgruntled and discouraged despite recent distractions that they haven’t been able to find any record of existence of Axel and Isa’s old friend, he’s been expressing his mood primarily through mumbled cursing, there’s an ugly blue and purple bruise developing under his right eye from being hit with a Defender’s shield, and, even if the next cure spell cast should take care of the last at least, Roxas hardly feels like he comes across as lovable. Maybe-hopefully--Axel still loves him, but certainly he’s not exactly painting an endearing picture for anyone else. There’s not a trace of irony or mockery in Axel’s words though, and he’s not usually subtle when he’s making fun.
Roxas has already stepped into a nearby bubble and is carried away before he can ask Axel, “How do you figure?” and actually have him hear it, but Axel is right behind him, and when they are reunited again in another near featureless stony gully with waterfalls moving the wrong way, Axel answers without missing a beat, like he sensed Roxas’s question in a fleeting expression before he disappeared or they have bonded beyond the need for physical speech.
“He admired passion,” Axel explains. “He was pretty laid back himself. I guess I take after him in some ways,” the realization verges on melancholy, “Except I’m  not as good at knowing exactly what to say to diffuse situations. He was a born peacemaker. I’m more of a… “ He trails off, knowing better than to start the argument or chain of reassurances that would be triggered by reflecting that he’s more a weapon, sharply honed and unperturbed and so better able to be used against those who lose their ability to think clearly when clouded with turbulent emotion. Roxas knows the unsaid anyway, but holds his tongue, opting instead to just shake his head and twine his fingers possessively in the notches between Axel’s own as if reiterating that they will--they have and Axel started even without him--pull each other into a better life than that.
“Well, anyway, he was a peacemaker, but not someone who believed there shouldn’t be conflict. He liked people that spoke their minds. Passionate. Opinionated. Fiery.” Axel laughs at his own word choice as more words fight to tumble out now that he’s started. “He had a predilection for fire magic. He’s the one that taught me, but he wasn’t hot tempered. He was warmth and light. He enveloped anyone he met, but he’d especially love you. He’d see I love you and you love me, and he wouldn’t need anything else to be on your side forever and support anything you ranted about or set your mind to.”
“He sounds nice,” Roxas replies and wonders not for the first time why he hasn’t met Axel’s parents yet. He forgets to ask. He doesn’t think much about families usually, ones people are born into at least. Axel and Xion are family. Sora is family, and Roxas long ago stopped trying to deny it. Even Isa is...getting there. Someday. Maybe. Roxas has a hard time remembering and keeping it in his mind that some people--most people, normal people--have more than that.
“He has the biggest heart I know,” Axel says that and no more.
Roxas has questions, but the sudden way Axel cuts himself off makes him reluctant to ask.
They find their way back to the castle and to town, and Roxas forgets.
“My mother makes the best honey wheat bread,” Axel says a few months later. Roxas tells him to ask her for the recipe.
~@~
“My father read that book.”
“I have the sequel. Do you want to send it to him?”
~@~
“You are exactly the type of partner my mother always wanted for me.”
“Someone that puts up with your bullshit?”
“Someone who brings out the best in me.”
~@~
“You’d make my mother laugh. You have the same sense of humor.”
~@~
“They’d love you like I love you.”
“Hopefully not just like.”
“They’d want you as another son.”
“Do you?”
“Want you as my son? I think that would be inappropriate.”
“Want to be a family forever?”
“I do.”
~@~
There are two empty seats saved in the front row of the ceremony. Roxas understands now.  Radiant Garden may look like its returned to its former glory if you stay in town, ignoring the Great Maw, Villain’s Vale, the waterways, or other ruins and secret corners where Heartless run rampant and destruction and scars remain, but it’s not as simple as all that. Roxas had worked alongside the Radiant Garden Restoration Committee, like so many other of the Guardians had, but the meaning of it hadn’t sunk in for the longest time.
Radiant Garden had fallen and been twisted into Hollow Bastion, then it had been redeemed, but it had never been consumed completely, a star winked out, and the star hadn’t been fully reborn either. It didn’t seem fair. They could keep slaying Heartless and Nobodies and hope to see new recompletions (A task that Roxas had mixed feelings over that he didn’t always feel comfortable sharing, knowing his unique perspective on reunion of Nobody into the whole was one few people understood, despite saying they did in the moment before dismissing Roxas and Namine as special cases). They could take the extremist approach and advocate for unlocking Radiant Garden’s heart and leading Heartless there in the hopes a new world and all its people would come back once the cycle of Dark had been fulfilled. There were no guarantees.
Axel’s parents, like Cloud’s mother or Leon’s first love, Rinoa, or so many others Roxas had never and would never meet, were gone.
“I’d love your parents.”
“And they’d adore you, Roxas.”

[DA+KH] I Never Would Have Shared (Assuming I Ever Let You Go)
Summary: Based on @chibi-mushroom‘s Dragon Age AU for the Kingdom Hearts series, set during Inquisition and after Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. In which Ephemer and Anora meet up in an abandoned part of Skyhold to share a slow dance without the prying eyes of court... and the Inner Circle.
Rating: K+
Word Count: 1,576 words
If you like this story, please reblog!
---
She felt ridiculous holding the neatly folded fabric in her arms. A part of her just hoped that no one was noticing that she was almost rushing to one of the empty spires Skyhold had. If anyone had noticed her, they certainly did not try to stop her. A sigh of relief escaped her when she reached the room and closed the heavy door behind her. Anora subconsciously held the fabric tighter, as if they were sheets of gold instead, and she was the thief that stole them.
“We've met up in darker closets before, haven't we?”
Anora nearly jumped out of her skin as she spun around. She visibly relaxed again when she noticed that it was just Ephemer. A faint smile crossed her lips as he moved closer to her.
“I missed you at the Winter Palace.” he then softly told her, brushing his hand against the side of her face. “Dozens of women asked me to dance at every opportunity, but all I could think about was you.”
Anora let out a soft hum as she leaned into his hand. She wished she could say the same- Skyhold was always much quieter when the Inquisitor and his Inner Circle were elsewhere. It meant Anora had more time to focus on her alchemy studies. The quiet was where Anora found peace, admittedly, but the silence without Ephemer almost felt empty if she thought on it too long. She still had other people to eat meals with and relax along to after a long day when Ephemer was gone, it was just his presence that seemed to make things a bit more calmer.
But then Anora remembered why they agreed to meet at this abandoned part of Skyhold. She stepped a little ways from him to look him in the eye.
“Before you went to the Winter Palace,” she carefully explained, her voice soft, “Namine assumed I would be going with the rest of you...”
“But she accidentally forgot about your fear of crowds.” Ephemer finished for her. “So you remained at Skyhold.”
Anora nodded her head- her hair bobbing along with her for a moment.
“It's really pretty, and she went through all that effort to get it. It would be rude not to wear it at least once. But I can't… I didn't want to...”
“Wait,” Ephemer realized, “What's pretty? What did Namine get for you?”
Anora's face almost went scarlet before stepping back a bit. It was then that Ephemer realized she was holding that bundle of fabric- he felt rather dumb for not noticing it before. Carefully, Anora started to unfold the fabric in her arms, revealing a long, light blue ball gown with a straight neckline and sheer sleeves. Ephemer moved forward just to feel the elaborate stitching along the bodice in admiration.
“Why didn't you put it on beforehand?” he then asked, looking up at her with a teasing grin.
“And walk around Skyhold in a fancy dress? I hope you're joking.”
“I would like that.”
Anora looked away for a moment as her face lit up in a light pink. “Yeah… well...” she bashfully stammered, “You know I don't like any more attention than I need.”
Ephemer gave a soft chuckle before placing a finger under her chin. He carefully made her look him in the eye as he mused, “Really? I never would have guessed. You seem to be the most distracting person in this fortress.”
The bashful young woman almost buried her face in the dress to hide how bright red her face had gotten. She tried to shake some of it off, but found it rather hard to look Ephemer in the eye after a comment like that.
“I want...” she started to, but it came out in a squeak instead. She quickly shook her head (Ephemer quietly chuckling at her) before trying her sentence again. “I want to… I want to wear this dress for you, just right here and right now, and maybe… maybe we could… pretend we were at the Winter Palace? Just us? It… it sounds really dumb saying it out loud, but...”
Ephemer quietly silenced her by gently placing his hands on her shoulders. “I love it.” he said to her with a kind smile.
Anora's eyes widened, and her heart started to accelerate, as she let out a sharp gasp of surprise. With one hand, she then quickly spun Ephemer around so he was facing the door.
“Watch the door.” she told him, almost a bit to quickly. “I'm going to change in the corner.”
“Right.” Ephemer agreed with a nod. He could hear her scuttle over to the corner and gently place the dress down in a spot that wasn't as dirty.
“Don't look!” she nervously squeaked out as it sounded like she was taking off her coat now.
“I won't, I won't.” Ephemer promised. A small smile crossed his face before he had the nerve to say, “It's not like I haven't seen you undressed before.”
Not even a second later, a small stone hit Ephemer against the head.
“Ow!” the commander immediately reacted, turning slightly to Anora. “What was that-”
“I said no looking!”
“I wasn't! You threw a rock at me.”
“I did not throw a rock at you.”
It took Ephemer a moment, but when he realized what she was saying, he let out a light chuckle.
“Touche.” he bemused.
As the room was filled with the sounds of Anora wiggling out of her usual clothes and into the dress, Ephemer's mind filled in what he couldn't see with his eyes. He shook his head to get them out before he made it obvious he was thinking that way. He didn't have to fantasize about her anymore- she was right there. Any dreams he could have had could also be fulfilled that very night if they so chose. There was no rush, even if there was some deranged magister running around threatening the fabric of reality as they knew it...
“Okay, you can look now.”
The commander did not need to be told twice at the simple instruction. What he saw nearly made his heart leap into his throat. At that exact moment, he knew that it didn't matter how beautiful a dress looked, Anora would make it even more gorgeous just by wearing it. She didn't have to be so shy, though- or maybe she was just dusting off some of the dirt that got on it while she was changing. Either way, he wished she would stop messing with the skirt and just look up at him.
“Maker's breath.” Ephemer marveled, regardless. Anora froze. She looked up at him with wide, almost terrified eyes.
“It's… not that bad… Is it?”
“Not at all.” he disagreed. He moved a bit closer to place his hands on her hips. Anora gave a small squeak at the touch, but certainly didn't stop him. “Just remind me to thank Namine later. You think she'd like flowers? A kiss would be too embarrassing, wouldn't it?”
Anora looked at him with her eyes wide. Her breathing hitched slightly when she took a step closer to him. How could she had forgotten every time they've done this? Off in some forgotten room somewhere, so close they could hear the other breathe, the tension rising between them when they found they couldn't stop staring into each other's eyes.
“You know, I'd actually like to help you take it off.” he admitted. His hand ran down to the small of her back, assuring that the dress suited her well. “But first, there is something else we must do.”
At Anora's small noise of question, Ephemer took a few steps back to humbly bow to her.
“Lady Anora of the Ferelden Circle, apothecary to the Inquisition, would you honor me with a light dance this evening?”
For a moment, Anora just stood there in frozen surprise. Ephemer started to stand straight again, offering his hand out to her as if nothing were amiss. He waited, patiently, for her response. Anora's eyes carefully looked from him, to his hand, then back up again. Even knowing that Ephemer would be gentle with her, Anora's hand slightly shook as she placed it into his. It was involuntary that Ephemer's hand tightly wrapped around hers, but it was a purposeful motion when he drew her a bit closer. A nervous laughter bubbled from the both of them before Ephemer gently started to lead them into a small waltz.
They danced in time to their own music. They waltzed to steps that only seemed to come closer and closer until they were only simply stepping from side to side. Anora's head rested against Ephemer's shoulder, and she took a deep breath in before letting out a long, relaxed exhale. It was enough to allow Ephemer to completely relax as well- his fingers intertwining with Anora's, and his other hand holding her closer.
“You know,” he mused with his voice no louder than a whisper, “I'm almost glad that you didn't come along with us. I would have had to share; assuming I ever let you go, of course.”
Anora's only response was to further bury her face into Ephemer's shoulder. He gave a soft laughter before continuing on with their silent dance. Even when the world could be perpetually ending, there was always time for a slow dance or two with the one that kept you sane.

I'm sorry. I can't do this anymore
So, this is dark. Like. Really dark and heavy. Post KH3 (probably?)
Warnings for: implied/faked death, implied suicide, depression, suicidal thoughts
Ye asked for angst, and Ye shall receive.
It’s a bit of a scattered plot... but ehhh
---
The casket was there. But Roxas knew it was empty. It was there for show. Just like he was.
He was tired. So tired. He hadn't slept in a week. His tie felt too tight, his clothes too big.
Xion stood dutifully next to him, closest to the empty casket. She held tight to his hand, silent tears streaking down her face as they stood there, line of mourners passing in front of them, shaking their hands, giving them hugs. Trying to make them feel whole again.
But Roxas would never be.
Nights he'd lay awake, head of red hair in his lap, as they struggled to adjust to their new lives. Days he'd spent with Axel, trying to get that connection they'd had in the Organization back. Weeks he'd spent watching the light fade out of those green, green eyes.
And then he was gone. Not dead... not that Roxas knew. Just gone.
And Roxas started lying. He said he'd been the one to find Axel. He clammed up whenever anyone asked what Axel had done. Roxas would say that it merited the closed casket.
He lied and said he'd had no clue that Axel had been struggling.
"I'm sorry for your loss."
The words were knives every time they were spoken. They made the hole in Roxas’s chest ache, made Xion tear up, made tears spill over and over. And whenever there was a lull in the mourners, Roxas’s hand fell to his pocket, slipping in to caress the edges of a paper that had been unfolded and refolded thousands of times since Roxas had woken up to it on his pillow.
The first lines were, 'I'm sorry. I can't do this anymore.' Roxas’s heart had taken off in an immediate sprint, expecting wholly that he was about to read Axel's final words. But to his surprise and brief relief, they went on to say that he was leaving, disappearing to somewhere that no one knew him, where there were no expectations from him. So still his final words.
He said to make up a story so that no one would ever come looking for him. But why? Why would he do something like that to Roxas? How could he do something like that to someone who was supposed to be his best friend?
Maybe that was why.
Unsurprisingly, the messages he sent went unanswered. His phone calls, straight to voicemail.
From that day forward, he carried that piece of paper in his pocket. Unable to believe that Axel was gone.
And in a way, it would have been easier if Axel had died that day.
He wanted to know where Axel was. Wanted to hold him. He wanted to ask so many whys. He'd thought there was something there. That if he had to leave, that he would take Roxas away with him. Maybe even Xion.
But he'd left. And he'd left Roxas with the knowledge. With the heartbroken friends and family. With the sole desire to find Axel.
To punch him? Beg him to come home? Hug him?... Kiss him?
But he couldn't leave. He couldn't leave Xion. He'd feel horrible knowing she'd feel like she lost two friends.
Forgetting Axel was a monumental task, though. His presence was everywhere in their little apartment.
Xion was the first to go, moving in with Namine and Kairi across town. Leaving Roxas to sleep in Axel's bed, curled up with a shirt that had been left behind until Axel's scent faded from it.
More and more he found himself sitting in the middle of Axel's room, tears streaking down his face. He knew he was torturing himself, but just couldn't stop.
It reached a point where Xion had come to visit and walked in to him screaming and cursing at the empty bed.
"Fuck you, Axel. Wherever you are. I hope you're miserable for the rest of your damn life. I hope you die." With that last line he broke, choking back a sob.
Arms wrapped around his shoulders as Xion sank to the floor behind him. "You don't mean that." Her voice shook. "I know you don't mean that."
"I do," Roxas’s voice cracked, tears spilling over. "I hope he dies. I hope I die. I can't take this, Xion." the arms tightened. "Why did he have to tell me? Why couldn't he have just vanished?"
"Because we would have known."
"I just wish…" He half hiccuped a sob. "That I'd told him so much more. I wish I could have told him how much I loved him."
"How much you still do…" Her voice was the barest of whispers.
"How much I always will. I have to go find him." He knew he never would, though. The universe was just far too big. And he clearly wasn't that important. He knew if he found Axel, if Axel was happy. If he had someone who wasn't Roxas…
Roxas wouldn't come home.
He'd thought about it far too many times. He'd planned it out. No one would believe he'd done it on purpose. After all, many were lost to gummi ship accidents every year. All it would take was a little nudge into an asteroid. Or just let the heartless ships overwhelm him. It would be easy.
The only reason he hadn't at that point was Xion. And maybe his therapist. Maybe the faint hope he held onto that Axel would come back someday. That Roxas would one day be complete.

Hey everyone! Here is day three! The story is based on a show on youtube called Monstrum, I highly suggest it. There will be a picture to go along with it when I get home from work. I figured with her wearing all white and him wearing all black, it would be cute.
*************
Today was the day.  Riku had promised that he would take her to other worlds outside their own, and he intended to do it. Sora was safe and at home now, spending his days on the sands of the Destiny Islands with Kairi. However, life had other plans for Riku. He had decided to follow in Aqua’s footsteps and become a full-time keyblade master; protecting the worlds from any remaining darkness. He himself had learned that the darkness wasn’t the enemy they had always been told it was.
Not that he was never home anymore. His mother insisted that he be home as often as he could to visit. After they had lost him for so long, they weren’t intent on losing him again. His family had been so happy that he came home that they had forgiven him for plunging the world into darkness. Now they could ask Sora or Kairi for stories anytime they wanted to hear what kind of adventures their son was getting into.  They also begged him to bring Namine home. She lived with the Wayfinder trio in the Land of Departure and kept it while they were away on patrols.
There she was in the courtyard of her new home when he arrived to pick her up. She wore clothes much different now than that she could wear something other than that white slip she had been created in. Now she had a blue plaid skirt and black v neck top that resembled the one he wore. Overtop was a long white jacket with blue plaid on the bottom and a mickey insignia in yellow on her arm. Her hair was tied up as well, which made it easier to keep out of her face while she was casting spells.
With a heavy blush, Riku accepted the soft peck on his cheek before he lead her into the gummi ship. It was such a new sensation to have her holding onto him and presenting him with varied kisses. He enjoyed and treasured each one, but was also glad that they were kept in private, when it was just the two of them and they didn’t need to worry what else anyone thought or said.
“So, where are we going?” Namine questioned as she buckled her seatbelt. Takeoff had been hard on her every other time she had gone through it, despite how much she wanted to sit with him.
“I was hoping you might have a world in mind. I’ll take you anywhere you’d like to go.”
Namine thought to herself for a moment. There were so many worlds in Sora’s memories and even more in the hearts of those tied to him. But one in particular had stuck out to her. She somehow knew the lore that went with the holiday; the spooks and the scares and the way the dead shambled back to life. It wasn’t her first choice of worlds, but the idea of going there with Riku by her side seemed  a little easier to bear than dealing with the brunt of it by herself.
“Can we check out Halloween Town?”
“You want to go there?” Riku looked back at her.
“Yes. it might be a little scary, but Jack seemed really nice, and I want to experience the thrill of terror when I know I'm not in any danger. Terra always seemed to like it, so…”
Riku smiled. “Then Halloween town it is. I wonder what your form change will be?”
While neither said it, they were both thinking it.  She was likely going to be a witch of some sort. That was what most of the organization had called her as well as DiZ and even herself on occasions, though she was usually repeating the words of others. As for Riku, he could be anything. Sora had seemed to be a vampire of some kind, so maybe the keyblade master would be, too.
When the ship touched down, Namine giggled at the bubbly feeling that always accompanied their form changes to other worlds. As they walked out of the ship together, they took a long look to evaluate the other's change.
Riku was wearing a dark suit and his usually tanned skin had paled to being much lighter than she had ever seen it. She noticed very small fangs in his mouth as well as the fact that his hair had been mussed up. The biggest change though was the addition of bat wings that had grown out of him. It was fitting all things considered.
Her change though was quite a bit different. She reached up to where the brim of a witch's hat should have been only to find none. Her skin had turned a deathly white and her hair had even lost its color as well. She was wearing a long white dress that may have had a couple of rips, but for the most part was quite lovely.
"Are you supposed to be some kind of ghost?" Riku asked simply.
"No, I think I would be a little more...floaty? I don't feel like a ghost." Namine responded.
"That's the thing about form changes. You yourself haven't changed, just your outward appearance."
"Like you did in Twilight town." She spoke and gave a gasp, clapping her hands over her mouth. "Sorry, I shouldn't have said that."
"You never saw me like that. To you I was always Riku." He spoke softly.
Namine nodded and gently took one of his large hands in her two smaller ones. She squeezed them lovingly and caught his gaze. The past was the past and she told him so in those very words. He had moved so far forward from that time; there was no need to drag himself back, even if it had been partially her fault that he even thought about it.
He nodded back and turned to lead them into town. He faintly remembered parts of it when he had wandered through the memories in Castle Oblivion, but he had never gotten a chance to go there properly before now. For a moment he was worried they wouldn't have anything to light their way, as it was fairly dark around here in the forest. Thankfully the overly large full moon gave them plenty of light to see by.
Town was easy enough to find, and as they walked through the gates, they were greeted by a small ghostly dog with a little lit pumpkin on its nose. It gave a happy bark and flew close around them, causing a small breeze to ruffle their clothes and hair. Namine had wanted to pet it, but since it was a ghost, she settled for watching the way it observed them.
Coming behind the dog was an unusually tall skeleton in a dark suit and spider bow tie. He looked at them, sizing them up with a smirk on his face. Both recognized him as Jack, the pumpkin king, even though he had never actually met either of them.
"Welcome to Halloween town. And who might you two be?" He bent over to get a better look at them.
"I'm Riku and this is Namine. We're friends of Sora's."
At the mention of the boy's name, Jack's face lit up. "So you found him after all. Good for you. Tell him to stop by sometime if he wants a good scream. I'm Jack, by the way. I help make each Halloween more scary than the last."
"Will do. And nice to meet you, jack." Riku replied. "So, is there anything to do around here?"
"Sure! Lots. Why don't you and your banshee friend head over to Curly hill? It's just down the way, you can't miss it."
A banshee. So that was what Namine had transformed into. As they waved goodbye, something was tugging at the back of Riku's mind. He had heard about banshees from his time on the island. They were monsters with a horrible voice and came to attack from out of nowhere. Maybe the form changes really were random, because that wasn't anything like her. She was usually soft spoken and thoughtful of others.
She must have been thinking about it too, because the look on her face was deep in thought, and perhaps a little troubled. As they walked, he took her hand in his and squeezed it gently. That was enough to bring her out of her thoughts, as she forced a smile at Riku.
"Are you bothered by the form change?" He asked.
"I don't know. I know about the stories you, Sora and Kairi would tell whenever you went camping, but it's like what we said earlier, appearance doesn't equal the heart, right?"
"Yeah, but you should also be comfortable in your own skin. Maybe we could try another world?'
"No, I want to see Curly hill for myself. I've seen it in memory, but this will be different."
They continued to walk, leaves crunching under their feet and a faraway howl rising in the air. Despite what she had said, her brows were still knit close together and she made a face similar to what Kairi did when she was frustrated.
There was a thin gate to their right and it led into a pathway in line with their final destination. Far ahead of them was the iconic hill that they were looking for, the swirl high in the moonlight. As they got closer, they noticed someone walking among the tombstones and pumpkins. She was moving at a leisurely pace, humming softly to herself.
"Oh, that's Sally." Namine smiled. She had always liked the woman from what she had seen.
"Hello there, and who might you be?" Sally asked.
"I'm Namine and this is Riku. It's nice to meet you."
"Yes, I suppose it is. Have I met you before? There's something about you that seems familiar."
Namine shook her head. She must have sensed the small amount of Sora that had been imbued in her upon her creation. Sally really must have been able to sense things others couldn't necessarily see.
"Oh, where are my manners? My name is Sally. It's not often we get a banshee around here. Not to say your vampire friend isn't welcome, but banshees are just a sign of good luck."
Riku and Namine looked at each other in slight confusion. They had never heard that version of the story. It had always been death and destruction. Where did the good luck come from?
"Banshees are good luck because they usually arrive to let members of their family know that death is coming so they have a chance to prepare. Which family are you connected to?"
"I'm not sure." Namine admitted.
"That's alright." Sally smiled warmly in the cool moonlight.
From the gate came the same ghostly dog who had greeted them when they entered the town. He zoomed around Riku and Namine before licking Sally and barking at her. The woman bent down and patted the ghost dog on the head before watching him fly off towards the town.
"It looks like doctor Finkelstein needs me for something. I hope you two enjoy your stay!"
With Sally gone, Riku suggyest they head up the hill to get a better view of the area nearby. They sat together for a while, listening to the wind sighing and a small band of vampires playing in the distance. He could tell she was  deep in thought again, but this time, she wasn't nearly as frustrated. A contemplative look filled her face.
"Munny for your thoughts?" Riku asked.
"Just thinking about what Sally said. I guess I just got so used to being referred to as a witch that I didn't think there could be any good in monsters outside of this world. To me, a witch was just as much as a monster as any of them."
He listened as she continued.
"But I think….I think that hearing what Sally had to say about the banshees really made me wonder about who I'm going to be and what I'm going to do. They may have called me a witch, but that doesn't mean it's necessarily bad, right?"
"No, it isn't. After all, witch, banshee, nobody; those don't make up who you are. Only you can decide what you're going to be."
"Yeah. Maybe that's the real reason why my heart led us here today. That way I could figure this out." She caught his gaze. "Riku, thank you."

The Untold Story of My Special Child - Ate
January 27, the day Ate was born. She has an epileptic meningitis and her mental capacity is only around of a seven-year-old kid. And like any other special child, Ate has her own world too.
She laughed louder than anybody else; she cried louder than normal people would cry; she has her tantrums from time to time, and she can’t remember anything except for her daily routines - time to eat, time to watch tv, and time to sleep. What makes it harder on her situation is her “epilepsy moment”, cos we do not know when it attacks her. She has a maintenance for it but it doesn’t guarantee to work all the time.
For so many years, I’ve seen how my parents became very protective over her. She’s not allowed to go outside. She has no friends, she doesn’t have freedom like we do. She’s not allowed to go somewhere that would excite her. As a young child before, I was pretty sure that her life was not normal. I felt like she’s a prisoner and she never enjoyed that much.
That’s why during my First Year High School, I invited my friends at home. I allowed them to meet Ate for the first time. I wasn’t really sure if how my friends would react, but to my surprise, everything went well. They accepted Ate the way they accepted me. Of course, Ate became uncomfortable talking to my friends at first meet but eventually, she became fond of talking, laughing and playing with them too.
One night, during our Town Fiesta, my parents went somewhere and needed to stay in that place overnight. My other two older sisters were also not at home. So that means, Kuya, the rule-breaker, was in charge of the house.
With the naughty smile on his face, Kuya convinced us to go to Perya in the middle of the night to have some fun. And of course, I, myself was a rebellious kid too so, I completely agreed on his plans. Kuya, My Special Ate, Bunso, and I went out. We were so wild. We did all the “Bawal” that night. And we had fun!
We let Ate experienced all of what we experience too. We really gave her the spot to enjoy. Cos whenever we were outside, she’s always beside Mama and she’s not allowed to choose what she wants.
So in this quick moment of freedom, we allowed her to play dart games, shooting games and any other games she could play. We also let her experience the “caterpillar ride” alone. Because we didn’t have enough money to pay for tickets, we let Ate experienced it alone. Not that dangerous but it’s quite fast. And if Mama was there, we were very certain that she won’t allow it to happen.
With all honesty, we were all nervous watching her riding the “caterpillar”. I felt like it was the longest one minute ride I’ve witnessed. We were all crossing our fingers while whispering this words, “kaya nya yan. kaya nya yan.”
After one minute, the three of us shouted for joy. She did it! We were so happy to witness Ate finished the ride courageously. I also saw how she smile differently this time. May kilig at confidence. I knew she felt accomplished that night.
Our last itinerary, our favorite video games!! I love playing Super Mario, Pacman and Bubbles when I was young. At syempre, because it’s our freedom night, we also allowed Ate to play with us. I guided her playing the video games, and she was really shouting for joy! As in ang ingay namin sa loob ng video games area.
The three of us were laughing so hard after seeing Ate’s reaction. Little did we know, people around us were staring at us as well. However, we never cared at all. We were having fun, thus, their opinion, comments, or reactions, didn’t matter.
Then suddenly, “Blag! Blag! Blag! Blag!”, my Ate’s hand was hitting the computer uncontrollably, her head started turning. I hurriedly pat Kuya’s back, “Sinusumpong na si Ate.” Kuya and Bunso assisted Ate quickly as I went outside to asked for help.
Her epilepsy lasted for around 10 seconds, (I guess) then she fell asleep after. I was thankful that a kind tricycle driver helped us and brought us all home safe.
When we’re at home, Ate regained her strength and forgot everything what happened. She changed her clothes and went back to sleep again.
All of us our staring at her as we took a deep breath. Hooooooo.. What a relief! We made an agreement not to tell anyone what happened that night. Lagot kami kung nagkataon.
I must admit, what we did were too risky. We only wanted to have fun, and we failed to think of the danger it may bring.
But looking back those days, I believe it was never wrong at all. Because we allowed Ate to live and be happy, and not just merely exist.
Yes, she may act differently, she may have special needs but it doesn’t mean she has no place in this world. She deserves to live. She deserves to experience life like what normal people do.
In our eyes, she’s not normal. In her eyes, we’re not normal too. Actually, we are all not normal because God made us all special. It just happened that we forget about it and we blend on the normal standards of this world.
I just wished someday, we could all see how special people are so, we could treat everyone with equal importance, dignity and respect.
In that way, the world will become a better place.

So I've been going through a rough patch atm where I have been hating my body and comparing myself to everyone. So may I request a fic where Axel comforts an s/o that hates their body and compares themself to everything?
Dear anon, I want you to know that you are beautiful inside and out. I know how you feel, and it’s a sucky place to be, but I promise you that one day it’ll get better. I hope this brings you some comfort.
Beauty Within
Morning light shone through the blinds of your bedroom window, the sound of soft snores coming from Axel’s sleeping form gently waking you up. Peering at the clock from over his shoulder, you decided to start getting ready for the day. You kissed his shoulder before freeing yourself from the tangle of limbs that lovingly ensnared you throughout the night and padded over to the kitchen to put on a pot of coffee.
After pouring yourself a cup, you made your way over to the bathroom to start your shower. You were instantly greeted by your reflection in the medicine cabinet mirror, messy bed hair sticking out in every direction. Axel teased you multiple times in the past how it looks just like his hair on a good day, and the memory made you giggle quietly.
The smile faded from your face as your eyes wandered to your arms down to the top of your torso. You stood still for a moment, silently critiquing how your arms weren’t quite as toned as anyone else’s you’ve come to know over the years. Your chest was large and full in size, which made you feel more embarrassed than anything. Insecurities on high alert, you moved over to your full sized mirror tucked away in the corner of your bedroom, shower long forgotten.
Looking at yourself in full, now you felt your cheeks flare up red. The pjs you wore, a large t-shirt and shorts, didn’t do much to hide your, well, larger assets. Your stomach wasn’t as thin as you’d like it to be, and your thighs touched uncomfortably. You pinched at the extra skin on your arms and stomach, an undeniable scowl dancing on your lips. There were so many things you’d want to change, and despite being as active as your other friends, your body simply didn’t seem to want to reflect all your hard work.
Being larger than your friends wasn’t easy either. Kairi, Aqua, Namine and Xion… they were all much smaller in size than you. They traded clothes with each other constantly and went to all the same stores to shop at, but you always felt out of place whenever you went with them.
Axel’s reflection appeared from behind you, stretching out his long, lanky limbs up into the air.  You couldn’t help but compare yourself to your boyfriend as well; he was so tall and slender, all bone and muscular, and handsome to boot. How in all the worlds out there did he feel the way he did for you…
Axel was now behind you, still wiping the sleep from his eyes as he brought his chin down to rest on your shoulder. He watched as your eyes kept steady on your own body and brought his hands over yours.
“Whatcha thinking?” His voice was a whisper, his breath tickling the shell of your ear lightly.
“Nothing,” you sighed.
“You’re a lousy liar, you know.”
The tears in your eyes that have been forming finally betrayed you, falling down your cheeks and onto the floor between your feet. “I just… I wish I could look like the other girls. I work so hard to stay fit, and I still look like…this.” Axel frowned as he continued listening to you. “There’s so much I just want to change.
“Babe, you are the most beautiful person I know. Inside and out. I love everything about you, you know that?” His fingers grazed up and down your one arm softly. “These arms are so strong, and so are your hands. Strong yet soft and gentle. These legs, man these legs, my heart races every time I see ‘em. And for everything in between,” his hands now wrapped you in a hug from behind, “stomach, chest, everything, makes me weak in the knees, babe. Not to mention they’re the best pillows around.” You rolled your eyes and scoffed a laugh at him, unable to hide the small smile creeping onto your face any longer.
“I don’t care that you don’t look like the other girls. You are beautiful in your own unique way, and I love that about you. You should love that about yourself, too.”
“You really mean that, Axel?”
“Of course I do. I. Love. You,” he said, kissing you in between words on your shoulders and neck. “Get it memorized already.”
Your eyes met his in the mirror before tracing down your body again. This time, you didn’t see the imperfections you picked at every day, but a young beautiful woman who has so many great things in her life.
And that’s all that truly matters.

Kingdom Sims Pt. 26
MATURE CONTENT for sexual content, nudity, language and violence.
Tumblr media
Kairi: I..I think..I think I’m pregnant.
Tumblr media
Namine: Oh my god. Kairi, are you sure? Did you take a test?
Kairi: I don’t need to. I know it. I can feel it. I’ve missed my period and I’ve been sick for two weeks. What do I do!?
Namine: Did you tell Sora?
Kairi: Oh no, Sora! I didn’t even think about how he’ll react! What do you think he’s gonna say?!
Tears streamed down Kairi’s face.
Tumblr media
Namine pulled Kairi into a hug.
Namine: Kairi, calm down. It’s gonna be alright. No matter what, Sora will always love you and he’ll be there for you. He might get scared but he will always stay by your side.
Tumblr media
Kairi calmed down a little.
Kairi: You’re right Namine. Thank you. Now I just have to figure out how to tell him. I know he won’t abandon me, but I still don’t know how and when to tell him.
Namine: Well you need to tell him so just do your best and keep in mind that he loves you.
Watching Namine and Kairi, down the hall through a mirror, was Bride Hannah.
Bride Hannah: Pathetic. Stupid little princess and her stupid little hero. I’ll end their lives somehow and I’ll make them watch as I torture the living hell out of them.
Later on that evening, Kairi found Sora walking through the foyer.
Sora: Kairi! How has your day been beautiful? You feeling any better? I know you haven’t felt good the last couple of days but it’ll pass.
Kairi looked down at her feet.
Kairi: Sora..about that....
Suddenly, Kairi was lifted from the air and tossed to the side by an unseen force. Sora reached for her and was about to run after her, but he was tossed against a wall and pinned to it. Then he felt a burning pain on his chest, he looked down to see a huge gash was carved into his chest. He screamed out in pain. They couldn’t see whatever it was that was doing this to them. There was nothing there. They both reached out their hands for each other, screaming the other’s name and Kairi tried to run to him. Bride Hannah suddenly appeared before her and stood between her and Sora.
Hannah: Hello, princess. You ready to watch your stupid boyfriend die?
Kairi: Don’t you dare touch him! You can’t hurt me and I will stop you!
Hannah: You’re right, I can’t hurt you...but...I can hurt that thing growing inside of you.
Sora and Kairi both gasped.
Sora: Kairi! What-what is she talking about!?
Hannah: Oh you didn’t tell him yet? Here, let me show him what I mean.
Hannah waved her hand at Kairi and Kairi clenched her stomach and dropped to her knees. Kairi cried. Sora was still pinned to wall but struggled to break free and tears fell from his eyes too.
Kairi: No...please. Stop! Don’t hurt them! Please, I’m begging you....
Sora: Kairi! Leave her alone!
Hannah: You might have a heart of pure light, but your unborn child has a heart just like it’s father. Made up of light and darkness.
Sora: GET AWAY FROM HER!!!!!!! STOP!!!!! If you wanna hurt me then hurt me, but don’t hurt her! Don’t hurt either one of them! LEAVE KAIRI AND MY CHILD ALONE!!!!
Sora clenched his fists as hard as he could and flexed his body the most he could. He was finally able to get out and he raced over to Hannah and pushed her. She lost her grasp on Kairi and the baby.
Sora: Kairi! Go now!
Kairi: I’m not leaving you!
Sora: You need to protect our child, please!
Kairi: Sora...I can’t leave you...
Hannah flung Sora back and Kairi watched in terror. Hannah began to approach Sora, but Kairi jumped between them.
Tumblr media
Hannah: You better listen to your boyfriend because if you don’t, you can say goodbye to your baby.
Kairi: You’re just jealous.
Hannah: What did you say to me!?
Tumblr media
Sora stood up and was about to protect Kairi, but he stopped as he could see the light surrounding Kairi and he could see her eyes we shinning with pure light.
Sora: Ha! It’s the light! The power of light!
Kairi: You heard me. You’re jealous of what Sora and I have. We’ve been through hell and back to be with each other for almost a decade, we’ve been fighting. But we love each other so much that we never gave up fighting! You’re jealous of that! That’s why you’ve been targeting us! And I will do everything in my power to protect my family! You stay the hell away from us!
Tumblr media
The light grew bigger and bigger until it finally covered the entire room and Hannah yelled in pain.
Hannah: No! Too much light! It’s burning!
Sora covered his eyes. The light burned Hannah until she turned to ash on the floor. The bright light dissipated and Sora put his hands down to see Kairi falling to the floor. Sora ran for her and caught her before she hit the floor. She was unconscious and Sora knew she was okay. He tried to process everything that just happened. He could handle any sort of danger but what shocked him the most... Sora picked Kairi up and carried her to bed so she could rest. He laid her down and starred at her, and then his eyes traveled to her stomach. He gently laid his hand over her stomach.
Sora: I can’t even believe...
Sora needed a moment to process it all. Sora walked down the stairs and as he was about to exit the house, Riku opened the front door.
Riku: Hey! Whoa you look like hell! You’re bleeding! What happened!?
Sora: Oh, I totally forgot about that...
Riku: You forgot you have a huge gash across your chest and dripping blood?! You need to fill me in!
Sora: Well, Kairi defeated Hannah...
Riku: She did!? How?
Sora: Light...She channeled all the power she had and used it to defeat her for good..she was desperate to protect me and...
Riku: Who else? No one else was here with you guys.
Sora: ...Our baby...
Riku: Come again!? Did you say baby? You got her pregnant you numskull!
Riku smacked Sora upside the head. Sora rubbed the back of his head.
Sora: Hey! I didn’t plan it! I’m just as shocked as you are! I just found out!
Riku: How long has she known?
Sora: I don’t know. I’m trying to think of how and when! We used protection every...oh wait...
Riku: You didn’t!
Sora: The night I proposed to her...we were on the beach, I forgot to bring anything with me and she said it was okay and I was okay with it too.
Riku: Sora, how could you be so careless and stupid!
Sora: I didn’t think about it! It was the heat of the moment, okay! I feel bad enough! I mean I wanted kids with her, eventually but right now..I don’t know if I’m ready to be a dad. And I still haven’t had a chance to talk to her about it so I have no idea how she feels.
Riku: Sora, I know this is sudden and i definitely think you should’ve been more responsible but aside from all that, I have no doubt in my mind you would be a great dad! You guys will both be great!
Sora: I just...I need a minute to think about all of this.
Sora walked outside and sat down on the bench. He starred up at the stars and he did this for at least an hour. Just thinking about everything. Sora put his hand down and covered his face. He was scared. Scared he wouldn’t be good enough.
Tumblr media
Suddenly he felt a hand on his back and head on his shoulder, and he could hear someone crying. He popped his head up to see it was Kairi.
Sora: Kairi! Are you okay?
Kairi: Yes. Are you?
Tumblr media
Sora: Why didn’t you tell me?
Kairi: I was going to but I wasn’t sure how. I was scared. I’m sorry.
Kairi was about to get up but Sora grabbed her wrist.
Tumblr media
Sora: Kairi, don’t go. You can always tell me anything, it doesn’t matter what it is. Don’t ever be scared to tell me anything.
Tumblr media
Kairi: I know I can but-
Sora: No but’s! Please talk to me when you need to. Whenever something is going on or when you feel any type of way, please express that to me. I don’t care what it is. I will always love you no matter what. It’s gonna be okay and we will get through this. I’m scared too. I’m petrified. But together, we can get through anything.
Sora stood up and pulled her up with me. He pulled into a hug and squeezed her tight.
Tumblr media
Kairi cried onto his shoulder.
Kairi: I’m scared though. Do you think we can do it? Will I be a good mom?
Sora: Of course you will. I question if I’ll be a good dad myself, but we’ll help each other.
Tumblr media
Sora rubbed her back and tried to comfort her as she cried.
Sora: Shh...Kairi, it’s okay. Please don’t cry. You’re going to make me cry. I hate seeing you sad.
Kairi began to calm down and the tears started to subside.
Sora: Come on, let’s get to bed.
Kairi: Will you hold me all night long?
Sora: Of course, that shouldn’t even be a question. I always do.
Tumblr media
Sora and Kairi got to their bedroom and Sora pulled Kairi in and kissed her.
Sora: It’s okay, Kairi. We can do this.
Seconds later, their clothes had been tossed around the room.
Tumblr media
Sora gazed down at her stomach and rubbed his hand over it.
Kairi: I’m gonna be so fat...
Sora: I don’t care, you’re still beautiful no matter what. You always will be to me.
Tumblr media
Kairi pushed Sora down onto the bed and kissed him. No matter what situation they were in, Sora could always make her feel better.

Of Monsters and Flowers
Part 1
He didn’t even remember how it started.
A moment before he was with Sora, eyes full of him and shoulder against the other’s, and a second later, as he watched him walking away with the promise of a new encounter the next day, Roxas felt a slight tickle in his throat. And he coughed.
At first, Roxas thought that a petal must got stuck to his clothes when… right, when they walked by the flower shop downtown. Sora couldn’t help but stop to have a better view of that little show of colors and smells that the plants didn’t ever get tired of delivering.
He was so beautiful, surrounded by all those flowers, all those colorful plants that looked like they wanted to frame that sweet smile.
Roxas’ heart couldn’t really handle it any longer, and right at that moment he felt his lungs giving up and the intoxicating smell of flowers blurring his mind.
But Sora was right there, with him, and making him worry was the last thing he actually wanted. And then he put that on tiredness.
Roxas smiled fondly to the memory of that afternoon together, and gently caressed the petal he held on the palm, thinking that it actually was Sora’s hand.
Sora, Sora, Sora…
If only he knew, if only Roxas had the courage to…
Another cough, another little yellow petal fell exactly where there was Sora’s hand.
-
Roxas had already heard about the disease. It didn’t have a precise name, people commonly called it the flower disease, and nobody exactly knew how and when the symptoms of the infection started showing. The only certainty was that if the patient manifested the first symptoms of the disease, then it had to be unrequited love.
Roxas knew that someday it would have happened to him as well.
He figured it out that time, when Sora hugged him and whispered his name, and Roxas came to the conclusion that it wasn’t enough anymore. Being his friend wasn’t enough, being a part of him wasn’t enough.
Roxas loved him, and if it was easy for the boy to admit it, what followed wasn’t that simple.
What right did he have to have feelings? Damn, Roxas was Sora. What were the odds for the others of accepting such a thing? What were the odds for Sora of accepting such a thing?
They knew everything about each other, of course, but both of them came from two totally different worlds. Sora was the light, the hero of the worlds, the one who loved and was loved by everyone, and Roxas was darkness, exactly his counterpart. They were each other’s lacking part.
During his short life, Roxas had always thought he didn’t have a heart, he didn’t even deserve to exist and, although Sora showed him the opposite everyday trying to make him understand in every possible way how grateful he was to be able to know him and be together at last, Roxas felt like his was a lost cause from the beginning.
He wasn’t worthy, like he couldn’t live up to his somebody. Roxas wasn’t a Nobody anymore, but he felt like one.
For this reason, he forced himself to hide everything inside of him. Sora would never have understood anything.
But pretending had never been so hard.
The mere presence of his somebody was enough to make him crazy, just being that close made him wanting to shout to his face what he felt, and he often had to bite his own tongue in order to desist.
His love, as much as Roxas tried, couldn’t be controlled, and if it couldn’t come out with good, it would have found other ways to do it.
That’s why, when Roxas saw the first two petals, he wasn’t actually that surprised.
There were only two ways to put an end to the illness: mutual love or death. And to Roxas just the second option was valid, there was no doubt. Sora wouldn’t ever loved him back, he wouldn’t ever love what was another part of him after all.
When would the disease start to go downhill? How long would it have taken to kill him?
Roxas looked up to the sky, and waited for it to fall down on him.
I will never be worthy, I will never be worthy, I will never be worthy.
Roxas had already died once, dying once more wouldn’t have made any difference.
-
Few weeks passed since the first symptoms showed up, and the infection was getting worse. Now Roxas coughed entire flowers, the disease didn’t leave him rest, and meeting with Sora became now a torture.
Their meet ups were getting rarer and rarer, and as much as Sora looked for him and asked him out, Roxas would always make up a thousand excuses rather than see him. Rather than be seen in that state.
Last time they saw each other, just the sight of the messy hair that Sora proudly wore, Roxas felt something moving in his chest and making its way up his throat, and sadly for him it wasn’t the heart.
It would have been too easy.
His body bent forward and the boy coughed once, twice, three times, and little yellow flowers filled his hands. Roxas paled and tried to hide them, but it was too late.
No, please. Not now, not-
“Roxas! Are you okay?!”
Sora was immediately by his side, he placed a hand on his shoulder and started massaging his back with the other, soothing him.
“Y-yes I’m fine, it’s okay now.”
As much as the boy tried to seek relief in the other’s gesture, and as much as he was happy for that attention, Roxas’ thoughts kept on going to the flowers he was holding in his hands. But Sora seemed not to have noticed them, or else he would have already started pestering him with questions, and then the boy realized that no one else could see them. Roxas sighed in relief, letting out a few other petals.
At least no one will know what I’m dying for, he thought with bitterness.
But Roxas hated making Sora worry, hated causing him problems, and if the disease wanted to draw him out, then he wouldn’t have seen his somebody ever again.
If he was lucky, he would be dead soon.
Or so he thought. Roxas forgot how stubborn and persistent Sora could be.
“Look, it’s a marigold. Isn’t it cute?” Naminé said, pointing at something in the grass, not too far from them.
Xion was holding her hand, and Roxas was silently walking behind them, with eyes set on their entwined hands and envy eating him, trying not to imagine himself instead of Xion and Sora instead of Naminé.
What was he even doing there? Oh, right, Xion practically forced him into it. She told her friend that some fresh air would help him get better, but Roxas was always thinking about how that situation was doing to him the opposite effect.
The girls got closer to the little flower and Xion bent down to see it up close.
“In some cultures, marigolds are used in wedding celebrations, while in other ones they’re connected to the dead. Love and death together, both represented by a flower so small. It’s funny, isn’t it?” Naminé explained.
Xion kept on contemplating the marigold, thoughtful, and she eventually plucked it. Xion let go of Namine’s hand and got closer to the boy, placing the flower behind Roxas’ ear.
“I don’t know why, but this flower reminds me of you, I think it suits you.”
“And it really looks good on you” Naminé added, giving him a bright smile.
Roxas would have wanted to tell them how right they were, and thought that if that little marigold represented him as his best friend said, then it wasn’t the disease that was killing him, but it was somehow himself.
Now he knew the name of the flower.
-
Roxas was letting himself die, and at the same time something else was taking his place. All of the thoughts he had been growing for a long time and had been keeping for himself showed up since the illness appeared. The sense of inadequacy, the envy, the feeling of loneliness and loss didn’t leave him be, and the closer Roxas got to death, the more they tried to come out and take shape.
The boy hated himself. When he looked at his own reflection in the mirror, Roxas couldn’t recognize himself anymore, he couldn’t even see Sora. There was another person staring back at him, with a pale and sunken face and dark circles around the eyes: a monster that only Roxas could see.
“Roxas! Naminé made me a portrait! Isn’t it amazing? She’s so talented, I’m sure she’s going to make a great artist!”
Good for her.
“I think I’ll confess to Isa, it’s about time. I have to come up with something and it has to be really cool, so he’ll get it memorized forever.”
Congratulations.
“Hayner, Olette and I are going to graduate next month. We’ll throw a big party and you’ll be our special guest! You can’t miss it!”
How lucky. I don’t even know if I’ll be still alive next month.
“I finally managed to become a Keyblade master! I wish you’d been there, you know…”
I’ll never be enough, I’ll never be enough, I’ll never be-
“And you? What are you up to?” the monster trapped in the mirror, trapped in his mind, asked.
I throw up flowers. Oh, and I’m going to die.
-
“Roxas, have you seen Vanitas lately, by any chance?” Ventus asked, out of the blue.
Vanitas?
“Since when do you care about him?”
“Don’t be a jerk! You know that now we’ve put everything behind us. It’s just that I haven’t seen him for a while, that’s all.”
Ventus bit down his lip, worried. There was something that he didn’t want to tell him, but Roxas didn’t care.
“No, I haven’t. if I ever see him, I’ll let you know, okay?”
Ventus thanked him, and the two of them got back to talk about trivial things.
When they parted, Roxas took the path to home and, turning into the alley he used to take as a shortcut, he saw a trail of carnations laid one after another and followed it, intrigued.
As he went on, Roxas could swear he heard coughing, and it was getting louder and persistent.
He picked up the pace.
If Roxas was in a tale, that would probably have been the moment in which he would have realized (too late, of course) that he had been lured in a trap and that he was going to end with being killed or eaten by the bad guy, but when Roxas turned the corner, all he saw was Vanitas.
Vanitas sitting on the ground, with the back resting against a dirty wall, as he was coughing a carnation after the other.
And Roxas couldn’t have been any happier and surprised at the same time.

au where ansem the wise was f*cking around with dna as part of his research and ended up accidentally using his apprentices’ dna to make a red-haired purple-eyed baby girl. He obviously panics and gives it to some kindly old woman to raise as her granddaughter but long story short Kairi is the aeleus/dilan weird test tube baby: please discuss
[this got way out of hand! 2.3k, obviously aeleus/dilan, mostly fluffy af. sorry mobile readers if the readmore doesn’t work...]
Aeleus and Dilan stand at attention, wondering why they’ve been summoned. Sitting behind his desk, Ansem acknowledges them with a wave of his hand and they relax a little. There is a long pause before he speaks.
“My dear apprentices, you have stood by my side while I’ve worked to right my wrongs, and for that I am grateful. However, I have a final confession to make. In the first of my investigations of the heart, working alone, I attempted to create a new heart, and used material from the two of you to do so. My experiment was more successful than I’d imagined - I created not just a heart, but a child. A baby girl.”
Unusually, Aeleus is the first to repond. “What happened to her?” His face is tense. Ansem smiles.
“Worry not, she is perfectly fine. Ashamed of my oversights, I hid the records of the experiment and placed the child in the care of a kind citizen. She spent the first few years of her life happily here in Radiant Garden. I believe you may have even seen her playing by the front doors of the castle, with the woman she called her grandmother.” The guards flinch with realisation.
“That girl…” mutters Dilan. Aeleus runs his hands over his head, staring at the middle distance.
Ansem continues. “One of Xehanort’s experiments flung her from our world, but she found her way to the Destiny Islands. It was there that she met Riku and Sora, her best friends.”
Dilan gapes. “You don’t mean…”
“Kairi?” finishes Aeleus.
Ansem nods. “The very same.” He sighs deeply. “It was wrong of me to use your genetic material without your consent, and wrong again to hide it from you for so long. I beg your forgiveness.”
Aeleus and Dilan share a look. “We’ll need some time to process this,” says Dilan. Aeleus nods.
“Of course,” says Ansem, solemnly. “The decision of whether or not to share this with her in your hands. I will support your choice in either case.” He smiles a sad smile. “That is all.”
That evening they sit in bed together. Dilan stares at the pages of a book while Aeleus stares at the wall. They’ve barely exchanged a word since the morning.
“We have a daughter,” says Aeleus, breaking the silence at last. He watches Dilan’s face, expectant.
Dilan sighs and closes his book. “We do not have a daughter.” He frowns. “There is a child with our genes who was made without our knowledge. We had nothing to do with raising her and she barely knows us. She isn’t ours.” Aeleus crumples, pleading with his eyes. Dilan softens but shakes his head. “What have we done to deserve her, my love? She is a keyblade wielder with a heart of pure light - we are a pair of strange men who tried to do terrible things to her friends. What could we possibly give her that she doesn’t already have?” He is avoiding Aeleus’ eyes.
“You’re afraid you’d hurt her.”
“And am I wrong? My track record is terrible, I have nothing to offer her.” Aeleus pulls Dilan into his arms and kisses his head. “We shouldn’t tell her. Nothing good could come of it.” He pulls back a little to look Aeleus in the eye. “Please.”
Aeleus sighs and squeezes him. “Very well.” They hold each other close, finding what comfort they can. After a long silence, Aeleus asks, “What about Lord Ansem?”
Dilan grimaces. “He’s forgiven us for worse.”
It’s not long before Kairi visits. The guards manage to hold their composure when she shows up at the front door, casually asking where Xion is as if nothing has changed - for her, of course, it hasn’t. Aeleus finds an excuse to accompany her to find her friend and Dilan finds another to come with them. Xion is studying in the library, but immediately abandons her schoolwork to chat with Kairi. Aeleus pretends to organize a shelf while ignoring Dilan’s pointed glances.
“Have you grown?” Xion asks Kairi suddenly. “You seem… bigger?” Kairi grins and flexes.
“I think so! I’d say it’s all the Keyblade training, but I’m pretty sure I’m having a regular growth spurt too.”
Xion giggles. “I wonder if that means I’ll get taller, too? I don’t mind that much, but…” she glances at Aeleus and Dilan, who try not to look like they’re listening, “…everyone here is really tall. It might be nice to not have to look up at everyone all the time.”
“I dunno.” Kairi shrugs. “Maybe you could ask Even to make you taller. Sounds easier than doing it the old-fashioned way.”
“Oh?”
She grimaces. “I’ve grown out of a bunch of my clothes, even that cute dress the fairies made for me… and my legs always hurt when I sleep. It kinda sucks. It’ll be worth it if I get taller than Riku, though.”
Dilan speaks before he can stop himself. “Try eating bananas.”
Kairi twists to look at him. “Huh?”
“Bananas. Heat packs and massage when your legs are hurting, and plenty of bananas - the minerals help prevent the pain. I had the same problem when I was a boy.”
“Oh. Thanks!” She smiles at him and he nods stiffly. As she returns to her conversation, Aeleus gives Dilan a meaningful look. Dilan shakes his head and walks away.
Every time Kairi visits, Aeleus finds a reason to be wherever she is.
(”I won’t tell her anything,” he tells Dilan, “I just-” “You just want to protect her,” Dilan replies, “I know.”)
One such time Kairi arrives with a rowdy collection of friends. They explore the town, listening to Lea’s stories of his childhood exploits. Aeleus does some shopping, staying within earshot. When they arrive in the central square Ven initiates a game of frisbee - Kairi, Namine and Xion decline the invitation, instead finding a bench to sit and admire the flowers. Aeleus lingers near the exit, with little reason to stay but no desire to go.
“I thought I’d find you here.” Dilan appears at his side and slips his hand into Aeleus’ in a rare public display of affection. “Shall we find a seat?” Aeleus looks askance at him. “If you’re going to loiter, you may as well do it in comfort.” They walk to a bench and settle in, half-watching the game, leaning on each other. It’s warm, and after a while Dilan starts to doze on Aeleus’ shoulder.
He is woken unceremoniously when Aeleus leaps to his feet. Moving faster than it looks like he should be capable, he reaches the trio of girls just in time to grab the frisbee before it hits Kairi from behind. Dilan blinks the sleep out of his eyes.
“Be more careful,” admonishes Aeleus, tossing back the frisbee.
“Sorry!” Ven yells back.
“Thanks, Aeleus,” says Kairi with a grin. He nods and is about to turn away when her expression becomes serious. “Is everything okay?” He nods again, hesitant this time. She stands, turning to face him properly, and folds her arms. “Are you sure? It seems like every time I come here you’re always right behind me.” Aeleus shoots a glance at Dilan, who sighs and starts to walk over. “I appreciate the save, but I want to know why you’re hovering around all the time.” Aeleus is rooted to the spot.
“Perceptive girl,” says Dilan, arriving beside Aeleus and placing a comforting hand on the small of his back. “There is a reason, but it may be something you’d prefer to hear in private.” He glances at Namine and Xion, a little uncomfortable with three pairs of near-identical eyes - similar in shape to Aeleus’, he suddenly realises - staring up at him. Kairi shakes her head.
“If you can say something to me, you can say it in front of my friends.”
“Very well. Take a seat, at least.” The bench isn’t nearly big enough for five, so as Kairi sits back down the men take a knee facing her. They exchange a look - Aeleus apologetic, Dilan comforting. He waits for her nod before speaking again. “You lived here as a young child, correct? Do you remember any relatives here?”
She shakes her head. “I know one story my grandmother told me, but that’s all. I don’t remember anything about her, or anyone else. People keep asking me about it, but I was so small. My real home, and my real family, is on the island.”
“Just so. I wouldn’t try to tell you otherwise.” He swallows heavily. “It is possible you cannot remember any relatives from here because there are none to remember.” He exchanges a glance with Aeleus. “Lord Ansem was trying to create a heart, but instead created a whole person - you - then gave you to your grandmother to raise. In that experiment, he used material from Aeleus and I. From a genetic standpoint, we are…” he trails off, unable to make himself finish the sentence.
“Your parents,” Aeleus supplies, softly. Kairi blinks.
“Hey,” says Xion, gently punching Kairi’s shoulder, “guess I’m not so special to have been born in a lab, huh?” Kairi smiles but doesn’t reply.
Dilan clears his throat, composing himself. “Lord Ansem kept this information from us until recently. We weren’t going to bother you with it - as you said, you have a family already - but it seems Aeleus has had difficulty keeping his protective instincts in check.”
Aeleus flushes. “I’m sorry if I’ve made you uncomfortable. I will leave you alone if you prefer.”
For a long moment, they are all silent. Namine pets Kairi’s hair with a gentle touch - Xion puts a hand on her knee. Dilan and Aeleus exchange tense looks.
Then Kairi laughs. Softly at first, then harder and harder until she’s cackling uncontrollably, infecting Xion and Namine with giggles too. Dilan chuckles nervously - Aeleus watches, taken aback. She laughs, and laughs, and eventually laughs herself out, wiping her eyes. She grins.
“Riku is going to flip! He was always so curious about where I came from, and now… now it’s you guys? Oh!” Her eyes sparkle. “I am gonna be taller than him!” She giggles again, and the men relax a little. She puts a hand on Aeleus’ shoulder. “Don’t be so worried about me. I can look after myself - I’m a Keyblade wielder, remember?” He nods.
Dilan stands. “If you don’t have any questions, we should be going.” Aeleus stands too, reluctantly. “I’m glad you aren’t upset by this.”
Kairi nods. “Thanks for telling me. It’s kind of weird, but it’s nice to know, I think. I’ll see you around.”
When they’re out of view, Aeleus slides his arm around Dilan and holds him tight.
At first, nothing much changes. Kairi visits now and then as usual, and if she stays at the gate to talk to the guards a little longer than she used to, they try not to read too hard into it. It’s when she starts to greet them with hugs that it feels like something is different. Not long after, they receive their first letter. It’s short but poetic, folded around a pair of pressed daisies. After they read it they hold each other for a long time, filled with something they can’t quite express.
On her next visit, Aeleus gives her his favourite book of poetry. He apologises for the cracked spine and copious margin notes. She tells him they make it special. He smiles for the rest of the day.
Kairi hears from Xion that Dilan gives her cooking lessons, and joins in on the next one. He finds she’s already a competent cook, and there’s something about the profiteroles they make together that tastes better than usual. She thanks him for teaching her with the brightest smile and a smear of chocolate on her cheek.
(”Even,” asks Dilan, “when Xion or Ienzo thank you for something, how does it feel?”Even laughs. “It’s a hell of a drug, hm?”)
She keeps writing, and they write back, including poems and recipes and greetings from the other occupants of the castle. She sends them handcrafted trinkets and souvenirs from the worlds she visits. They find a special box to keep them in.
It’s Ienzo who suggests they try keeping in touch via gummiphone. It feels strange to see her face on the little screen but they get used to it quickly. She takes them on video tours of the Land of Departure and Destiny Islands when she has time, and sends “can’t talk now - world order! :(” texts when she doesn’t. They worry about her when she tells them about the latest giant heartless or scheming villain she’s battled, but every time she assures them she’s fine, she’s a Keyblade wielder, remember? They nod and smile and keep worrying.
It’s the late evening in Radiant Garden. They sit in bed with a gummiphone between them, watching her talk against a background of steep misty hills.
“...I didn’t know what a llama even was before I came here, but I sure do now! Oh, is that-” the screen turns black as she hides her gummiphone, and there’s nothing but muffled voices for the next minute.
