I dearly love how Hermitcraft interacts with the End. Gems episode three had chorus plants in the overworld, which means someone beat the dragon at some point, but it’s not even a focus! I don’t know who! That’s not the point here!

And in comparison when I cautiously look over at what I know of DSMP and the QSMP to some extent, it’s like y’all are being Real Weird about the End, and in qsmp they’re being weird about the nether.

I suppose that’s the difference between builders and lore oriented folks. Sometimes people just want purple block, and they have to go kill a dragon to get it. Just what it is.

I know I already wrote this elsewhere for a few of you to see, but I figured I'd toss this up on Tumblr as well, as per the usual think-thonking void filler.

So... 🤔 The more I lean into the musical aspects of Kuja, the more I find a foothold in his character (unsurprisingly.) As in, what feels like more of an individual take on his character. Others may or may not like that? Not that what others like really matters here. I think that’s why I feel more comfortable with the “Phantom Of The Opera” AU version of him vs. OG too, though.

In my opinion, he has a lot of musical potential… especially when looking at some of the lines they gave him in Dissidia. He's obviously into theatre and the theatrical, yes, but I do quite like the idea of him being just as musical - or at least having some undeniable interest in it. Essentially, I think I’d do well to follow that more musical train of thought into the FFIX fanfic as well! Plus, it helps connect him to these silly little characters of mine and their even sillier little story antics even more too. Haha! (He takes some interest in the treasure hunt, but his involvement is limited for a number of reasons. Particularly mid-FFIX.)

Working with the musical aspects of characters feels so true to me. Always has, always will. I feel a lot of comfort working with music in storytelling. I hope you guys don't mind. 🤍🎼

You know what's great about fictional media? You can like a character and it doesn't actually matter if you'd agree with them irl, because they're not real. Liking Scrooge McDuck or Tony Stark doesn't make you a billionaire apologist, liking the Joker doesn't make you a True Crime Apologist, liking Steve Rogers doesn't make you a Patriot, and liking Darth Vader doesn't make you Genocidal. And this goes for disliking characters too! Disliking Loki doesn't make you hate abuse victims, disliking Wanda doesn't make you a Mom hater, disliking Superman doesn't mean you hate all good people! A character is meant to be compelling and while they are also designed to make you question yourself and the world around you, they are a tool to get you to think critically, not make you attack someone like a rabid dog because their favorite character is 'problematic'
